Jumpers!

The Jurai Trees and their ships are amazing. They're sapient, they're loyal, and do what they can to provide for you and defend you. Tell me, do you have a Jurai tree on your chain and what have you done with her? Has that relationship changed? What was your best adventure of favorite memory?

Tell me your tales of Jurai trees!

Previously on The Chronicles of Ryuma Saotome [Build: http://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/55283369/#55290944] [Fluff: https://pastebin.com/6v555wu3]:

“Destroyer, All of Humanity’s Evils, Source of Colorless Fog, Beast of 666, and Cursed Element.” The voice said as it rose from the consumed corpse of the Ninth Bright Shiner. “I have consumed five grand Evils within myself and exacted each of the penalties. Life penalty (Oh Lord of the Dead), body penalty (A Perfect Sacrifice), freedom penalty (Trapped in Slumber), fame penalty (Fallen Who Takes The World), fortune penalty (Sin Given Form by Choice).”Behind each phrase of penalty a second voice listed out their ‘donors’. “Hate of life, hate of self, hate of chains, hate of others, hate of fate.” It laughed mockingly. "That's a neat form, Jumper! How do you like mine!"

Pic Related is basically the shape Avenger has taken, take note the 'human' in pic is a multi-story construct body that my Jumper is in as a Not So Bright Shiner.

Reposting because I forgot some stuff. So, here's a question guys when faced with irredeemable, absolute, Evil what is your Jumper's response?

Imagine a frog being boiled alive. You're never aware of the danger or the doom looming overhead until it's far, far too late. I was immediately in a bit of a bad situation, being in the FUCKING DRAGON EMPIRE CAPITAL of all places. Instinctively, I knew that I had to help the Hero-King-to-be, Marth, or all would be lost. I'm not sure what possessed me to believe it, but I knew there was no time for doubt or second-guessing myself. I began making a running start to the nearest port. As luck would have it, I found myself crossing paths with a large number of troops being transported to the ships to continue their invasion of Archanea. About five-thousand, give or take, with a sizable fraction of them being dragons.

The sane thing to do would be to find a way to blend in and board their transports, then slip away and give the intel of their movements to the first relevant royal I could find to prepare for a counter-attack. I, however, was not sane. I announced my presence and held the Hookblade up high, making sure to 'nudge' the sun facing me. I told them to prepare for battle, because this was an ambush. Then I patiently waited for them to line up and prepare for said battle, though the rank-and-file were convinced this was some sort of elaborate deception from an escaped human slave.

I heard murmurs among the officers, however. About the tattoos I wore and the Hookblade in my hand. 'The Nameless One' escaped their lips more than once. And then, they were ready, and so was I. My companions were convinced I had completely lost my marbles. I gave them a chance to surrender, turn back from their journey, and to live to fight another day. I don't know if the officers underestimated me or couldn't risk causing disarray in their coalition of troops from Dolhr and those kingdoms who worked under them, but my offer was refused. The soldiers were tense, as if sensing the coming storm. Thus, I drew my Hookblade, and charged.

Everything became a blur to me. I wasn't sure what my original intent was - I figured I'd cause some chaos in their ranks and then retreat once it became too much for me. But that moment never actually came. I had taken injuries, certainly, but Reverb and the fragment in my body closed those wounds before they had a change to actually slow me down. It's only when I realized the remainder of their forces had routed into a terrified retreat did I stop and slow down, realizing I was covered in blood from face-to-toe. The Hookblade dripped softly with warm red as I stared at my handiwork. I had merely planned to be a distraction. But I had routed the entirety of the invasion force by myself, with almost no real resistance able to stop me. Even the dragons did little more than slow me down.

Would it be better to pick up Tiki in Archanea or Awakening?
>>
>>55341742
I was…I was expecting an exciting battle and a chase. But all I had done was reap the souls of dragons and men like wheat in the harvest. The killing ground has fallen dead silent as the remainder of them ran away in a panic, before Sho shook me and promptly hit me over the head for doing such an unnecessary battle in the first place. The others were worried…except Dan, who was mostly upset that I didn't use the Gamer Driver or any of his 'ingenious' inventions during that particular fight. Eventually, we ended up moving to the port to try and use one of those ships they had planned to use…except that they had set fire to the ships in what I assumed was a mad panic. We managed to find some boats to use instead, miraculously enough. Though I guess we could have just swam in our fish forms…ah, well.

I guess…I became too strong?

..we met up with Marth and we ended up assisting him. Things go relatively according to schedule, though…I couldn't shake the idea people were a lot more afraid of me now. I certainly was.

That's why I asked. I think the Jurai tree is incredibly underrated as a partner in the chain and I wanted to see if anyone else agreed.
>>
>>55341649
My Jurai Tree is somewhere between a daughter and a little sister. Backstory in the jump is that I would visit her in the arboretum as she was growing from a sapling, took care of her and formed a strong bond from a young age. So she wants to make me proud and help me whenever she can, though time and experience has tempered that from the blind worship of a child to just a very strong respect.

As for what I've done with her? Turned her into a world tree. Avatar of the Green and World Tree, from DC Occult and The Gamer respectively, have made her a giant avatar of all life that channels enormous amounts of mystical energy. Then she learned the Second True Magic in Fate, so that she can bridge the world with her roots and branches. Avatar of the Green non-locality means she's always by my side, usually in the form of a lotus flower that goes with the pseudo-Buddhist aesthetic I use. And Kaleidoscope means she can bring in the big guns so that I always have backup. She is best daughteru.

So you've been reading AGG: Rise, I take it?

As for your question, depends on how much of a threat I consider it to be. If I feel I've got the upper hand I'll take the time to drive it into despair before obliterating it. I'm good at that, lots of dickishness perks in my build. If I don't think so, I immediately move to bind it with as many buffs and restrictions as possible, then call in every major weapon and asset I have to destroy it with supreme overkill. Unless that's just what it wanted me to do, of course, always use hyperintelligence and precognition to check for double blinds like that.

It's a Japanese tabletop RPG. The premise is that archaeologists accidentally unearth a sample of some ancient super-virus that infects people and turns them into monsters. You play as one of the Overeds, those infected by the virus that haven't been transformed yet. In theory it's possible to go a long time, maybe even your entire life, without transforming so long as you manage your condition. Unfortunately, using the superpowers your disease grants you accelerates the transformation process, and since the virus produces monsters and is able to infect literally anything, not just people, you're probably going to need those powers. And that's before you get into superpowered criminals. It's pretty cool, and Digger did a great job on the jump, you should check it out.

Dance with damnation. Burn my eyes on a candle, and drive a knife on my heart. Pledge to the edge, and grant thee a corpse. Drown in the marshes, and look north.

Red as Wounds. Red as Riots. Red as Sunsets. Red as Desire. Red as Betrayal. Red as the Waters. Red as Remembrance. Red as Roses.

Seven scars weep. Seven chains are remembered. Seven times is the soul stained.

Eat. Eat until I don't need to anymore. Eat until I want to stop. Eat until it hurts. Eat until I bleed. Eat until I force myself open. Eat until the world forgets who is who.

All shall be well.

>What is this?
Seriously? Wow, weird coincidence, then. A Geek's Guide: Rise is a quest over on Space Battles. A recent event in it had the hivemind "Chimera" monsters make a big giant super-avatar by eating and usurping the power of a dead god of destruction. It then went to devour the most powerful other Chimera to grow even stronger. And the image used for it is the exact same one you used in that post.

She's an Avatar of the Green. Having a humanoid body running around while the majority of her is a ecosystem-sized mass of plantlife is the natural state of her existence.

Well plus side is you have shit tonnes of chakra with your build and plenty of tricks for swording stuff.
The bad side is now you have 2 ninja animal tribes calling on you in times of need and you are an angsty pants.
Miss angsty pants. That's what people are going to call you. I suggest you befriend naruto and push "The Plan" as hard as possible. Naruto will want your attention as a relative and sasuke will try to help you too. Your very presence will probably derail the story by a large amount.
Got a picture for your funky eyes for you though. This is my favorite fan version because it is simple.

>>
>>55342110
Ship. DC Occult was the very next place I took her, so she went straight from being a tree powering a spaceship to being a tree large enough to be a spaceship that could also bud off little sub-bodies. It was only a matter of time before she decided "I want to have a body I can go on adventures with dad and our friends" and made something humanoid. Her sense of aesthetics needed some work, at first they were more or less just wooden mannequins, but she got it eventually.

Not really. The Jumper in question was used to being a thrill-seeker and someone who routinely fought against bad odds for the hell of it...and drastically underestimated how far he had come in terms of power and combat ability. He had never just absolutely run roughshod over such a large group before, so it came as a bit of a shock.

He's also only aware of perks on a very subconscious level, just enough to know how they work.

Could someone who knows about Desolate Era tell me if having a first-rate Jindan does anything in the long run? Does the grade of your Jindan still matter when you are a Daofather, for example?

I also remember something about Primordial Chaos being a trap Dao to learn, is that really a thing? I'm guessing it has nothing to do with mastery of cute androgynous boys. That was Hastur, not the Crawling Chaos.
>>
>>55342284
Nah. That's probably a pretty good scenario for me? My chain usually doesn't involve the benefactor much. Most of the time it's either generic jump-chan, just wanting some cheap entertainment, or something that's near-completely absent, apart from comments when picking stuff out for the next jump.

So, the 'most interesting' slot defaults to a tsundere Jump-chan who set the whole thing up to make a random bastard into her husbando.

Having a better Jindan very much matters at higher levels, if you want to do Ki Refining. The inferior Jindan-cultivating methods the Three Realms have is the reason why they falsely believe that Fiendgod Body Refiners are automatically stronger than Ki Refiners. When Ji Ning visited Prisonworld 17 (the canon counterpart of the Strange Stele item), despite being at a higher stage of cultivation than many of the prisoners he was actually weaker than them. You definitely want a first rate Jindan if you can get it. Fortunately, you don't have to buy the Jindan Cultivation Methods item, with its high cost, if you want one. Paying 200CP to have your cultivation method be good up to Celestial Immortal rank should teach you the method to make a first-rate one, since it says that it won't introduce any weaknesses or stunt your growth, which a third-rate Jindan would qualify as. It's just that you'll need to make your Jindan the normal way instead of the upgraded way the item teaches you to do, by absorbing an entire world into your Zifu to fuel the creation. Have fun, try not to choke.
>>
>>55342284
Maybe, maybe it would turn into something super comfy instead. That idea of a benefactor was one where they were really out of touch with things, to the extent that they don't understand danger, or the value of things. I was thinking of doing a chain for it, where I would randomize the amount of cp for each option in the jumps, and the amount that each jump would start with, but it sounded like too much of a pain in the ass. That benefactor would likely throw me into absurdly dangerous situations armed with a fake gun, or throw me into a children's cartoon with rocket launchers strapped to my everything.
>>
>>55342577
Cherry Tree is really useful since you can sort things into nodes.

So you could like have the overarching chain information in the primary node. (Chain order, themes, ideas for arcs, etc) then the individual builds in subnodes (Jump 1 is its own Node, Jump 2 is its own Node, etc), then special projects, plot writeups or chain developments in subnodes of your builds to keep a timeline fairly organized.
>>
>>55342619
In the long run, it doesn't really matter. I don't think World Gods or Daolords are held back if they had a third rate jindan, for example. At those stages, only the strength of your Dao matters.

Not a Chain I've done yet, but I have thought up a Chain with Benefactor running on the edges of The Great Game. She gambled away all her points and was supposed to be deleted, but clung to life by latching on to another Chain as "OC" drawback villain with the last of her power. One of those that escalates. The Jumper was particularly late-game but she defeated him and skipped out on the world before that Benefactor came to clean up the mess. Now she's a "glitch" in The Great Game, piggybacking off other worlds and trying to force a Jumper to Spark so she can steal it.

So fucked, but there's a narrow Good Ending path if I hit every flag just right.>>55342292

I admit I haven't gotten to the point where Ji Ning is dealing with World-level peers and foes, I'm still in the low 20s. So maybe my information is wrong. But everything Ning's learned so far says that even Chaos Immortals need strong Jindans if they're going to be the equal of World Gods. Daolords from what I understand are a step even beyond that, so it would make sense if they don't have that limitation, but you can't get to that level in the jump. And I imagine it would be harder to get to that point if you don't have a strong foundation.

>>55342676
It really seems to vary from person to person. Low levels go by fast if you're a genius, expect to learn them in a year or two at most. Higher levels naturally take longer to learn, you'll need a lot of time.. I think part of the problem might be that so many Immortals seclude themselves away to meditate on the Daos, when it's stated that accumulating worldly experience and insights is one of the best ways to improve your skill in them. Kind of feels like they're unintentionally crippling themselves.

>>55342701
Jindans are "ki reactors", little proto-universes stored inside your soul that give you a big power boost to Ki Refiner-type abilities. You don't use them so much as you just have them, they're like a spiritual organ. As for the item, it's pretty good. Much easier way of getting one than eating a universe. The biggest advantage would be teaching others the method, you could get a lot of strong Ki Refiners much easier that way.

Uh...maybe? No one in the series has tried that. It's kind of taken as a given that you only get one Zifu and one Jindan to fill it. Basically, outside of the Three Realms Jindans never come up again. If anyone has suggestions for a The Simpsons jump let me know as I've been vaguely doing one for a couple of weeks.

Already sitting on about 6 pages of stuff so might as well formally claim it if I hadn't already. Legitimately not sure if I have.

Only referring to the first 10 seasons or so in the jump as after that it got quite a lot worse, jumps are 10 years long, and frankly I can't be arsed to sit through that tripe. There'll be a drawback to extend your time period to whenever it finishes which is admittedly up in the air at the minute as it's still running.
>>
>>55343013

Drawback where Sideshow Bob, instead of hating Bart, hates you and wants to personally kill you.

Or a drawback where rakes inexplicably appear everywhere you go and you end up stepping on them.

Drawback that makes you see everything in the first season of the Simpson's style.

Or a drawback that flanderizes your habits like that happened to Ned Flanders (it's even named after him).

Or a drawback based on the Homer's Enemy episode.

A perk that lets people trust you with dangerous job even if you're not very qualified for said job and come off as really unprofessional like Homer's job at the Power Plant, perhaps?

>>

Yeah, most of the stuff from his time in the Three Realms has been pretty irrelevant. The most important thing have been the Nine Chaos Seals, which are still quite useful. And if the spoiler I read was correct, they somehow have to do with the corpse of the Supreme Sovereign (the stage above Eternal Emperors) which also created Pangu's World and the Seamless Gate and is the reason the people there have such insane talent compared to the other Chaos Worlds. So those Seals are gonna keep being useful for a few books longer.
>>
>>55343125
Sorry to say I'm mostly looking for perks and items. The perk is definitely usable though and the Flanderization drawback is already in.

No. You need to buy it if you are to get a 1st class jindan. You can't wank 'no stunting of growth' as 'give you the best possible form', that's just silly. There'd be no reason for the seperate purchase if you're reading was accurate.
You could wank getting ahold of a method to upgrade from a 3rd to 2nd like Ji Ning did and use the cloning technique, then fusing the bodies back together to cheat a sort-of 1st class, but a real 1st class normally required the aid of a Chaos Immortal; you can't do it on your own (although if you sufficent OCP you might manager, but given the power levels we're talking about, it's pretty unlikely).
It's worth noting that the class of jindan ceases to make any difference once you become a Chaos Immortal.

Maybe not in the context of the chain, but in the context of the Simpson's universe that would be a pretty big deal. If they want to make it relevant to a jumper who's been around the block a few times, you could always add a clause about the drawback upping Sideshow Bob's competency.

Benefactor only brought me along to test the idea of a chain minus safety nets for her actual chosen jumper. Kept me on one past the very bloody one shot because the suffering and struggle amuses her. Also because the bugs are numerous and watch out for those reality errors.

I never asked to be made a student of Cain on jump 1 or sent to other bloody locales but this isn't about my wants. She needs everything worked out just right for her precious, actual jumper. The pain train never ends.

I don't understand it myself in this case. They look at fantasy worlds and think "No it must actually suck to have superpowers!", not "Wow, I wish I was there!" like normal. It's a total bucket crab mentality. All worlds should be as miserable or worse than this one to them.

I know, right? I've been amazed with them ever since I first heard about them.

This is a big reason why I took the Fairy race in Touhou Project - despite the race having no given advantages in the jump (and depending on how you interpret the way that fairies in that canon easily die and regenerate, one of the riskiest). Fairies are able to support and bond with nature, such as making homes in trees and making plants grow. I just knew that this would work great in conjunction with the Jurai perks/items.

Though I never really did figure out what me and my tree ship would do in the long term. I've given a lot of thought to my monster moon, but not the ships, unfortunately.

Despite a lot of examples in the Isekai genre being DUMB, it still has CHARACTER IN BEING DUMB AND TRASH. The jump makes no attempts at any of this, like white bread. Plain fukken white bread next to Hotspring-Man's Sourdough.

At this point it's just... beating a dead horse, though. And I know Soft's not going to go any further with it.

I have several questions related to Six Siblings from Angel Notes:

How specific can you get with your Siblings specializations? Is it just broad attributes like strength, speed, etc., or can you get a lot more specific?

If so, will the difference between them and me scale depending on how broad or narrow their specialty is? So, a Sibling with a Specialty in Weather Magic would be better than a Sibling specialized in all Magic?

How tangential can you get with abilities that fall under their specialties? If I had a Sibling with Physical Combat as a specialty (if that's valid), would they also gain all my strength and durability and speed Perks at full strength, because those can be applied to their specialty?
And how much weaker are they compared to you in their weaker areas?

Sorry for being so needy.
>>
>>55346215
>Well, if you like I suppose.
Awesome! I love that one and having a Beyond is such a huge thing that I was unsure if you'd let it through, even if it's one that runs you through the gauntlet a few times per Jump. Thank you, Valeria!

>It won't turn around and start benefiting you though, just work the same as ever.
Understandable, I mean it's already a really lax Beyond for a Creepypasta Beyond, most of the Creepypasta I've read just end up with people being spirited away or something like that at the end.
>>
>>55346222
You could probably get to fairly specific stuff, such as specific types of magic (Fire magic, Mind Magic etc) but probably not down to the individual ability level.

Yup, narrower it is the more benefit you get.

Well, with Physical Combat they'd at least have equal physical stats to you but that may not manifest in having all your physical perks that way, since those might carry additional benefits beyond just high stats.

Eh, noticeably weaker. A contest between you and them almost always results in your win but they could maybe get around that gap with a lot of skill and planning.

Sorry for immediately rolling in with Fate/, but when the Stronger Servant options say you can transfer your CP to Servants for use in the main jump, does that mean Jumper in specific can donate or could Jumper's Master do it too.

Would an NP that's literally just a nuke that falls out of the sky between the Servant and whoever they're fighting be alright for EX?

If you take the Servant background a second time, do you still start with 0 CP?
>>
>>55346296
Jumpers Master can yes.

If it's a one time thing, that might just be an A+++ instead.

Hm. Probably for the best that you do still get CP if it's your second time taking Servant. Only if you're not getting any SP though and if you already payed for PseudoServant once.

Hmm the analytic approach eh? Cool. Also a new tidbit for more experienced Jumpers...

>Describing every blow is difficult when the lot of us were going full out for a few reasons. The first reason was that we each tucked most of our moves behind little webs of illusion, space distortion, and time lags to get the best chances of success out of everything that was done. Second, the battle has layers that are all happening at the same time; Martial arts, Physical Tool Combat, Ki Combat, spiritual combat, AIM Combat, SOUL Combat, Magical Combat, and Anti-Magic Combat flowing into a hellish combination that made properly defining and describing every move and technique both an arduous task and something of that was difficult to deliver properly, especially so as ‘movement’ was measured in instant/object teleportation/time stop/Mach 30+/etc. Levels so proper descriptions tend to get long winded. Third, in addition to the layered combat style, the various forces involved, and the sheer amount of moves being thrown around there were ten participants and even describing one would hard for reasons listed above, to make things worse the first move for Avenger was to summon forth hundreds of monsters cloaked in Evil Energy, massive Beasts like that of Primate Murder's Apex Predator form leaking crimson and black from snowy white micro-thin hairs.

>The kinship between the Avenger and Primate Murder meant that the summoning was a heck of a lot more complete than any other he could have tried.
Pic Related is kinda what I'm thinking the Primate Murders look like.

How do you deal with a Jumper growing so strong/extraordinary that your ability to convey the subject matter properly lags behind? I'm kinda starting to have that problem and I'm only 150 Jumps into the chain, just so much to do and already have done that it.

Anyways, after a few healings, some regen, and me casually dropping in for dinner, they got along fine. The two of them run the 'handing out powers' part of my criminal enterprise. Ritz does acquisitions, Deku does the vetting of candidates.

Deku insisted on leaving AfO behind though, but that's neither here nor there.

>>
>>55346980
Not really. Other than them both being brutish figures, there's nothing really similar about them. I'd say it's more that they're both drawing on the depiction of Frankenstein's monster in the 1931 Universal Studios movie, which Stan Lee credited as a major inspiration for the Hulk. Solomon Grundy is a reanimated corpse, Hulk is a symbol of scientific arrogance, Frankenstein is a clear point of connection for them, conceptually.
>>
>>55347049
He picked Bane up, with only one hand, and threw him through the roof of the building. Bane, the man who broke the Bat, is basically helpless through the "fight". And aftter that fight, Solomon proceeds to rampage through Penguin's mooks for a while.

>Bane, the man who broke the Bat, is basically helpless through the "fight".
That's because Bane isn't actually all that impressive, Echoanon. Yeah, he "broke the Bat". Once. After a prolonged period of harassment that had Batman tired and way off his game. Every other fight they've had, Bane goes down hard. Fucking Killer Croc has a better track record against Batman than Bane does. Though to be fair, Killer Croc is actually kind of a badass that just gets used terribly because writers don't know what to do with him. Still, point is, Bane ain't shit.
>>
>>55347194
Isn't Arkham's Bane hellishly tough and strong, even by Bane standards, as well as Croc?

>>55347277
Howling. That's it.
No joke, I was thinking about sharks and wolves and stuff, it was on the tip of my tongue. Did it ever get made.
>>
>>55347247
In the comic, after that brief tussle with Solomon, he's seen walking around in his hideout seemingly none the worse for wear. If nothing else, Bane's one durable bastard.

Also, Croc is too. In Asylum, Bats is forced to run away from him while intermittently hitting the shock collar around his neck with a batarang to keep him away. Hell, he gets dropped down a deep deep pit, and is still conscious enough to yell up at Bats afterwards.

DLC for Arkham Knight reveals that he's basically Crawler from Worm, except he hasn't had time to grow yet and he's limited to growing more durable, crocodillian, and stronger.
>>
>>55347247
Yeah, and his fighting skills take a major hit as a result, because he gets wrapped up in being the big heavy bruiser role instead of using even the slightest amount of finesse. He's fucking pathetic. Taking down Bane is not an impressive feat, in the Arkham universe. Even the Joker, Batman's lamest villain (that's right, I said it!) manages to string Bane up.
>>
>>55347318
>(that's right, I said it!)

How good is Ultimate LIfe Form's biology at defending thing like viruses or parasites? Would it let you deal with something like John Carpenter's the Thing or the monsters from Harbinger Down?
>>
>>55347194
Actually Bane used to be something. He actually broke Killer Croc's arm. However this was during a different time when the writers were trying to make him bad ass. As happens to villains who are supposed to be the next big thing, they kind of fizzle a bit after a while. So Bane's not quite who he was when he broke the Bat.
>>
>>55347367
I'd imagine pretty darn good. Don't know Harbinger Down but I can't see the Thing having any chance against you.
>>
>>55347318
Joker is Batman's most popular villain, and Batman is the most popular Superhero. The more popular characters are, the more they are wanked. At this point the Joker is less of clown and more like the unholy lovechild of Michael Myers and Nyarlathotep. Dude can offscreen the entire Justice League.
>>
>>55347194
> used terribly because writers don't know what to do with him.
Can't the same be said with most of Batman's villains?
Take Bane for example. He was designed to be the physical counter to Batman in every aspect. Not just with strength, but skill and even intellect. Bane knows several martial arts, speaks several languages fluently, and has eidetic memory. And yet most of the time he's treated like he is in Arkham. Just a wrestler on steroids. Basically, after his victory Batman went "op, please nerf" and he as never really lived up to his debut.
And let's not get started on the changes that happened with Mr.Freeze about a year ago.
>>
>>55347379
Yeah, and then Killer Croc eviscerated Bane in their next match, because fuck Bane. Bane is awful, he's Batman's second-worst villain (first is, again, the Joker). >>55347388 has the right of it, it's just characters being wanked because they were mildly popular, once, and so they become these ridiculous things that no one actually likes but just pretends to because they have false nostalgia for something that never was.
>>
>>55347406
That's because, again, Bane ain't shit. He was never Batman's equal, no matter how much they tried to hype him as that. Chuck Dixon's a hack. He wasn't nerfed, that was just people realizing that oh yeah, Bane's actually kind of lame, and not at all impressive enough to compete on the same level as the World's Greatest Detective.

Bancho posits that the world is natural and has no concerns for a higher truth, so he seeks to rule as a god and change things.

Gnosticism posits a higher world with the physical world as a trap keeping souls under the thumb of a demiurge. Physics is not the natural state of things but a matter of design, with most demiurges either unaware or incapable of being aware of the higher order. For the purposes of my chain, some are cruel and some are ignorant.

It's really more like there are thousands of Banchos that I have to somehow get the truth to, and they are all just as autistic, and I have the barest awareness of truth myself.

The best form of government is a perfect idealized fantasy where everyone in charge is competent and educated, and every citizen is altruistic and industrious. People who like to talk up benevolent dictatorships do so because it's the easiest-to-swallow version of this impossibly, childish fantasy.

The problems with dictatorships have nothing to do with whether the dictator is competent or not. Even the most perfect, skilled, benevolent dictator should, as his first priority, try to abolish the dictatorship and institute some manner of democracy as soon as possible, if he actually cares about his country.

CGPGrey did an excellent video on how and why power flows through a ruling government, and I recommend you watch it, even if you already have before. Assume he is deliberately and specifically critiquing your political views and see if you can't understand why.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rStL7niR7gs

The multiverse where the chain takes place is actually a transcendental being. All the universes, and their stories, are part of it. Being a being above time, for it encompasses all of it, any change that is brought to the stories from an outside force is detrimental to said multiverse 'perfected' status.

Jumper had the mission to cause as much changes as they could in said chain, which would in turn change the multiverse for worse and ready it for the Benefactor's attack and later consumption.

Lovecraft.

No, seriously, you can buy a Lab Assistant for 200CP (100CP if you're also a Researcher), and they come with 100CP to spend on their own perks -- which conveniently is exactly how much CP it would cost them to buy "The Empty Mind", a perk which allows them to be able to instantly recall any scientific knowledge they have ever learned, while making it harder to recall anything else.
The base Lab Assistant is also noted as being fearless, brilliant, and with great willpower and work ethic, and they are completely loyal and "will never abandon you".

So, combine all those things together and you basically have someone who will be absolutely happy to study and do science on your behalf for-basically-ever. And eventually they probably won't even remember having ever done anything else.

Ergo: Science Bitch.

The study of all facets of the universe is superior to one, yes. How is that controversial? Unless you're that "Science"-Fuck-Yeah idiot who inisists that our current understanding of our universe and application of said knowledge is absolute and, for arbitrary reasons, "better" than many things which explicitly surpass it. Which seems likely given that you arbitrarily exclude a substantial aspect of the workings of many worlds from research.
>>
>>55348000
Yes. Easily.
>>55348270
Don't plan on it,but the storm already passed over my area. Now we just have intermittent power and network and my sister's dog got out and she's really upset and my mom won't let her go out to look for it.
>>
>>55348353
Cool. Would that scenario include claiming the Throne and pulling out a Hajun to summon the powers of the previous universal rulers?
>>

Fuck, that's really sad.

Hope you can find it. Stay safe until things calm down, though.
>>
>>55348270
Do you mean engineering is superior to magic? Because saying "science is superior to magic" makes no sense.
>>
>>55348396
Dumb dog gets out all the time, but normally there isn't flooding and wreckage everywhere. And school is closed today so I have nothing to do besides help her look once the sun is up. Dog doesn't like me. The cats like me and aren't dumb enough to run outside during a hurricane.
>>
>>55348270
Science is a process used to look at the world and understand it. Magic, in worlds where it exists, is part of the world. Science is a tool to be used on magic, like a hammer is used on metal to forge a sword. They are not in competition and claiming that one is better than the other marks you as an idiot.

If you don't mind, what were those? Something about the Tumor/Amatiramisu?

>>55348446
Essentially, yes. Though obviously not at the same level of power as the original tumour.
>>
>>55348488
>needing dogs to tell you who not to trust
The only advantage of a dog in this, is that some people let their guard down when around animals, because they don't feel the need to lie and try to trick animals.

Wasn't there a perk or an Exalted charm for being a third parent of a child? I need that for reasons unrelated to lewd exploits.

So, besides importing them as a species/race in Civilization, is there any way to become a True Ancestor?
>>
>>55348543
You don't always have the benefit of time to judge someone. My dog is not exactly aggressive, but I've seen him get really angry and worked up over people at the door before. It's only on very rare occasions, maybe three times total. I pretend not to be home when that happens, because I trust my dog's judgement.

If you possess an alt-form with enhanced intelligence (such as The Ultimate Lifeform from Jorge Joestar) and switch into a different alt-form, are you effectively lobotomising/killing yourself?

My civilization will be great, but I don't want to leave a shitton of single mothers in the process.

>>
>>55348609

Just a thought

Also the Sidereal one you're thinking of just retroactively makes you related to them somehow so it won't fix the problem of excess single mothers.

>>
>>55348605

>>

I have honestly not been surprised by a dog not liking someone since I was a little kid. I can tell about as fast as it would take the dog whether or not any particular dog I have known would like them, and usually not just in a vague way, I usually know why they wouldn't like the person.
>>
>>55348644
Haha, always glad to hear. Trying to get back into schedule with my stuff so hopefully I can get another jump out soon.

Don't blame him. He lost his human-level intelligence when he shifted out of that alt-form.

>>55348605
No, that's dumb.

Especially given that you can switch back to that altform any time you want. What you're doing is effectively just switching back and forth between a brain setup where one form has more processing power than the other. You might as well say that the "you" that exists when you take mental performance enhancing drugs dies every time you come down off of them, or that a football player has killed himself entirely after getting dogpiled for the first time, and that no part of him exists.
Except in this situation you can switch back and forth any time you want and maintain one form or the other indefinitely, so it's more of a self-imposed limiter at that point. Unless you secretly hate being intelligent and fear you'll become an entirely different person if you don't constantly have all your intelligence shit active, and if that's really the case you have a lot more issues than can be adequately solved or even addressed in this conversation.

So in summation: That's dumb.
>>
>>55348605

>>
>>55348680
No, but I have lived with between 2-5 dogs for as long as I can remember, and figured out what signs tip them off when I was a kid.
>>
>>55348653
Why? Seems like quite a significant benefit to wank retaining mental attributes across alt-forms without having a perk for it, especially when they're biologically-based.
>>
>>55348679
Pretty sure that's just a fan theory. Good theory but never canon confirmed.
>>
>>55348645
So, it's something that's only possible long after it's lost any practical use. A pity.

>Bancho posits that the world is natural and has no concerns for a higher truth

no I see "Higher worlds" as equal to this world just with different rules And different people in charge.

>>so he seeks to rule as a god and change things.

This is not the case,I'm seeking to end the rule of Gods not simply put myself in charge, being in charge myself is only an interim solution which I assure you will become phased out.

>>Gnosticism posits a higher world with the physical world as a trap keeping souls under the thumb of a demiurge

>>
>>55347900
>Alternatively, for 200 CP you can import a single companion (or create a new one) as a Living Legend, Not Princess, or Demigod
Does that mean 200 CP per companion, or can you only import one? I have four I'd like to import to get a small demi-pantheon and that would be 800 CP to do so, instead of 100 CP for any number of villagers, if you're worried about balance or anything.

Suggesting changing alt-forms would lobotomise you is stupid anon. But, otherwise, yes, different alt forms may have different amounts of intelligence. An alt-form that is intrinsically, rather than from a perk, super-intelligent should grant you the benefit in that form and not in another than doesn't also have it (although we do have perks for that in SAO and Blame!).
But the idea of accidentally lobotomising yourself is dumb, at most changing forms into a less intelligent form would just make you less intelligent and that's it. Anyone telling me different, I'd have to ask for them to provide one hell of a good argument.
