How do I run a core of 20 counts as sisters of the watch at 1k+ without getting punted?

Going to ally in 6 warhawkrider/prosecutor counts as, with double waywatcher and spellweavers. Not much of a spell selection, the healing might help but the units of 10 might not last long enough.

There is this event. Malign Portents.
We don't know precisely what it is, but it looks like a campaign or something.

Anyway, this is basically the story of the return of an angry Nagash.

For the occasion, they will introduce 4 heroes, one for each of the Grand Alliances.

Those will be the heralds of their respective faction. They said something about fielding them for free in related games, not sure how it works.

Not my care or trouble, but Stormcast are trading low. Ogres trade at 1:1 (swapped for 12) and others have done far better: 2:1 or better for Elves. There are over 100 SC for trade at the club. The GW store does not bother to reorder their core troops, the ones on the shelf have dust (very clean store! Kudos2 GW). Supply and demand is a harsh Law.

The SM can serve any chapter and most of our 40K have multiple SM Chapters! I 'm a SM slacker with only 2 1/2 (one guy has 7+, 5 q7 300+ points!), but I run Orcs, Chaos and am being sucked in by Harlequins!

Orks get one new kit every two years. Core tyranids havent had anything in years. Dark Eldar got the one model in the triumvirate boxes if that counts as an update. "plastic sisters of battle" turned out to be celestine and her groupies, and not replacing the over two decade old sculpts they currently have.

i Have only made custom heroes for Silver Tower and Shadows over hammerhal but they are based on existing warscrolls. I would say not hard to do provided you playtest a bit, base around examples from existing heroes and do the necesary tweaks with the feedback. Mine play very well compared with the existing ones.

It's been two years and all we've had is a Stormcast release of some kind every few months, Chaos, bigger Orcs, a few repackaged Destruction factions and one or two bits of new stuff that's worth talking about (the Kharadron, Fyreslayers, and the Sylvaneth to a lesser extent). Flesh Eater Courts barely even count considering how little attention Death's got. There's a difference between 'making money' and taking the piss. Plenty of people would be willing to drop the cash on 'niche factions', the constant Free People/Soulblight/Grot Sky Pirate shilling in these threads proves that. Stormcast are only as popular as they are because GW shills them so aggressively.

Are there any Seraphon players willing to tell me about lizard's kits quality?
I'm thinking about starting an army but I noticed that some of these kits are so fuckin old.
After fucking with orc boyz and orc warboss on boar I don't even want to touch anything older than 10 years. These models were fuckin terrible - Grand Canyon-tier gaps and moldlines in the worst places.
What about Lizardmen? How good are these sculpts? Are they relatively easy and nice to prep or maybe I will have to fuck with liquid greenstuff for few days to fill all gaps and holes?
It's not like I'm lazy or choosy but you all know that some kits are just god-awful and cleaning and assembling them is not really a rewarding experience

They fit together nicely and you can wiggle the arms around to pose them slightly but the legs are pretty static on the warriors and temple guard. Skinks are pretty old and monopose too but they're so small it doesn't matter. Slann have a nice model, as do most of the lizardman heroes. The Terradons/Ripperdactyls have a great kit, can be a bit hard to put together but overall the plastic is great. Kroxigor are an older sculpt so they don't look too great but they fit easily enough, they're finecast sadly. Stegadons are nice too, bastiladons are as well.

The Dread Saurian is pretty nice too, I like the model and after the initial gluing he looks great.

Our cold ones looks like ass compared to the Dark Elf cold ones. The "newer" kits are nice, if you get the SC Box you'll get the Carnosaur/Trog and 12 warriors with 8 knights.

There are several books that deal with the lore, such as the Realmgate Wars campaign series or the basic rulebook. They're all in the OP. Grab maybe City of Secrets, Auction of Blood, Garden of Nurgle and Lord of Undeath as well, those also explain a lot.

So guys, I saw this box and I immediately felt the urge to buy it

I already have one giant, but having three can be a hell of a lot of fun, not just for using them as allies but using them for scenarios

For example, this one came to mi mind just when I saw it:

Two armies fighting each other for the control of a mystic object, represented by a control point at the middle of the map. When one of the two armies gets to the object, before the movement phase of the next turn, the trhee giants are deployed in one of the sides of the match that do not belong to any of the other two players. The giants are aggro against both other players, theyr objectivo is to kill, eat and smash wathever gets into theyr path. They do not go for the mystic object, theyr objectivo is to wreck chaos and destruction.
The two armies are lesft with the problem the Giants represent, they have to ally each other for killing the giants but at the same time the only winner is the one who controls the object at the end of turn 6.

I thought this for two players, so the Giants would just run straitgh to the nearest enemy and charge as soon as possible. Reason why they can't actually win, unless they kill everything else. They're just NPCs.

But it could be adapted for someone to control the Giants, in this case they could play to control the objective too, as a second possibility for theyr winning conditions.

As an extra, imo this scenery would be specially fun in a Skirmish-Path to Glory game since the armies would be small and would probably lack any way to actually kill the 3 Giants.

What do you guys think?

I've probably expressed badly myself, but I'm honestly quite excited about the idea.

Unimaginative twit here. How do I make Seraphon "my dudes"? I'm reading through their battletome right now and I have mixeg feelings about them being celestial beings. Slann imaginary friends army is an outstanding and interesting theme but on the other hand it left pretty no room for a warband's long-term background. So consider them vengeful/fanatic ghosts, bent on doing something unique, "haunting" the Realms to do something. That's what I'd do.

Like I said, it's an elite unit in the army. Currently costing 300 points (I only play pitched battles). It's about on par with a Stegadon and most of it's advantages lie on the charge. Otherwise it does great at absorbing damage but is mediocre at dishing it out. Part of the theme of the army is speed and hit and run tactics. You wanted a unit of Tomahawk Skirmishers and a unit of multi-attack pack chargers. These can't be the same unit. Too flexible.

And Skeletons don't get to have a ranged attack (WITH BONUSES).

Either make them a horde of wild warriors, with an almost not-noticeable extra throwing weapon, or make them a team of ranged scouts, that throws axes and runs, but then is BARELY ok in melee.

So my Spire of Dawn set came in today and I started to clip out all the Clanrats for me to put together and... I think I'm fucked?

I've got 40 total clanrat models, but only 17 spears, 2 banners, 1 bell and 20 assorted hand weapons like maces, clubs, etc.

I wanted two units of spears at the recommendation of this general, but it seems I can do only a unit of hand weapons and not even a full unit of spears? Even if I do 17 spears + 1 banner + 1 bell, that's still 1 short. There's nothing left on the sprues and not even a spot where a mysterious spear would have been.

Beyond that, convert swords to spears. Brass rods or plasticard works fine. Clip off sword, drill hand insert rod, fix blade to the top. Done.

Fuck it. People are posting their random made up units. Here's my revision of Bretonnian allegiance abilities. Props to the guys mentioned at the bottom of the pages, I just re-balanced and re-worded stuff.

You will struggle to get a lot of those Grave Guard into combat. Grave Guard do not need to be large units, in fact, they work better in several smaller units (as they get no bonuses to unit size, and you revive more models per turn that way).
30 Grave Guard cost a lot more than 40 Skeleton Warriors, and it can take less hits, and has a lower damage potential. Remember than although Skeleton Warriors have a worse save, they have 10 more bodies, and revive D6 per turn instead of D3.
Where as almost every skeleton warrior will be in range to use their 3 shitty attacks, half of your block of grave guard wont ever get to hit anything due to their short range.
Basically, you are pitting 120 4/4/- attacks against at most 30 3/3/-1 attacks.

Where as if they are in smaller units (say units of 20 at most), you will be a lot more likely to get your models into attack range of something, and you are reviving D3 skeletons for every 20 Grave Guard instead of every 30, for the exact same point cost.

Have you not touched the fantasy side of Warhams before? Champions regularly don't have matching weapons, for the sake of standing out.

Generally, unless the rules state otherwise, a unit is all equipped with the same weapon. So it doesn't matter if a single dude doesn't have a shield, so long as there's a visible lot of dudes in that unit that have shields people will be fine with it. It's especially very common for the command section (champ, banner and musician) to be equipped differently, because they have to stand out/hold other shit.

Yes? Black and red are strong colours, they're hard to fuck up and super easy to correct mistakes. Bit of red on the black? One quick brush stroke of black easily fixes that.

If I fuck up it's like a million brush strokes of bone to cover up the red or gold. I also said mixed skin tones, so I'll be going right through from white to black skintones, not just Cadian Fleshtone you dong.

So the way I picture my lizardmen is they are celestial beings made of starlight but they are memories of real live lizardmen from long ago, the twist of course is that they are how how the slann remembers them not necessarily how they actually were when they were alive.

So the story of my lizardmen is that they had a slann who started meditating on the stars and just never woke up (slann live forever and as such time passes differently for them.) So while he was meditating all the skinks would take care of him, building the temples, cleaning, oiling him, complaining about the saurus. So my army has a lot of skinks because my slann remembers lots of skinks. He doesn't remember the saurus, they have no reason to be in the temples, they don't really make sounds, etc. My slann can remember the screeching of ripperdacylts, stegadons, and bastilladons because they make sound.

When my Slann's lizard men were alive they were attacked by skaven, the skinks tried to wake the slann up but he wouldn't wake up. The skaven ended up destroying the whole temple crushing the slann inside. Then like those desert frogs who can hibernate for centuries a great end time rain came that rehydrated him and woke him up.

Double teleport seems really powerful. Skinks can be nasty road blocks running from combat while sending down loads of shots. Stegadon can teleport 9" away, alpha skink itself to move D6" then charge 2D6" putting it in combat more than 75% of the time. The troglodon can teleport 9" away from the enemy and spite at it, then only need a 6" charge.
