I see what you're saying, in terms of ships v. planes. Avia, however, is able to thrive via competitively efficient air travel. As an analogy, consider a modern transport plane pitted against a 15th century ship. Better technology makes the plane a much better option. Mate, you're advocating leaving the country's long range shipping to another sovereign country, meaning they get an inordinate say in business matters. If they suddenly decide to cut you off their network, or to impose extremely large tariffs, that doesn't leave you with a whole lot of options. You could either trade by land and river routes (which given Eclan's geography is limited to a few nations; the richer nations are cut off by the mountain range making trade with them difficult, and making new routes through Murkin is hard given the whole vast swamp thing), Try to build up Eclan's magic shipping base up (the logistics of which would be absolutely insane for a country with no prior knowledge, and you can bet there would be some major sabotage going on), or to declare war on them and incorporate their infrastructure into Eclan (which is again difficult due to them being surrounded by mountains, as well as them leveraging their trade agreements to try and get other countries to help them). Leaving the situation alone is right out, as they would definitely exploit the situation and enforce their shipping monopoly for as long as they can, which given their superior technology and expertise as you said, makes them the best option in the foreseeable future.

I know you probably didn't intend to make Eclan's situation quite so dire and that you think things will eventually sort themselves out, but as things stand the future doesn't look so bright. There's a reason landlocked countries haven't done so hot historically when compared to those with sea access.

Your feelings of inferiority comes from comparing yourself to others, I assume. Why would you measure up to being a person of your position when others around you are performing adequately, and better? That Chad can be a better guy for your girl, so why even bother?

I don't really know how to explain how I snapped out of that sort of mentality, but it was something along the lines of "I can breathe and eat, so why must I long for something more?" I stopped giving a fuck about what other people are doing and began to pursue my own selfish agenda of doing whatever the fuck I want. I think the main part about this is showing yourself that you can progress yourself as a person, and also to preoccupy yourself. I used to have my mind wander aimlessly, and I have a strong belief that if you don't stimulate yourself, your mind will naturally wander to the pessimistic side of things. You have nothing to think about but how unsatisfying you are and how pitiful other people think about you. I based Ruby in pic related off of these feelings of mine, and ever since I switched my focus to my school, career and my hobbies while enjoying my time with people I love, I've been fucking great. I haven't been depressed for 7-ish years now, since I broke up with my ex.

Learn an instrument and compose a song, it's a good feeling to hear something you created become something beautiful. If it sucks, improve. Go for a jog and get healthier. Go download every season of that show you've been meaning to watch and watch it. Go to /mu/ and listen to some of their weird shit to explore genres you haven't heard before. If all else fails, take a week vacation, get in your car with nothing but your wallet, phone and charger, and wander. Make CYOAs. There's a lot to do, anon.

Verend just has your typical resources. Some metal, some trees, some farmland. A bit of everything with no real specialty.
You could become the king of Verend, which would unite those countries.
Law can't control Terese because he doesn't have authority over her. Even if you're made king, you can't grant someone of non royal blood that level of authority. She's safe from it by a technicality.

Yes, Chronicle can boost the other conduits, making them much more powerful at what they already do. Boosting Law wouldn't grant him more authority. His ability is pretty boolean, so it doesn't scale with a boost much.
Treaty can partially pacify Teresa, even more so while super-boosted, but there's no guarantees.
Maybe Revi could reverse something? She hasn't fully explored her power, so in searching for a way to save Teresa, that's one place you could look.
Teresa's engagement is just a political thing. He's not too romantically interested in a woman that goes to the ends of Torran to revive her sister instead of going on a honeymoon.

I just noticed something, Teresa just killed the possesed king IN ONE HIT. Shadowing her was a great choice. It also made the whole ordeal even more tragic i think i am getting a bit too attached to the characters of this CYOA

Of course, I'm not without my own plans. By using the death of their King and my marriage to Katelyn, I ascend to the throne of Verend with the help of honeyed words and 'accidents' befalling my opponents. On the Eclan-front, I vote for Teresa because I think she would be the best for our country, and she is the closest to me and would be able to foster peace once we save her. For saving her, Katelyn seems to have an inkling of what is going on, and utilizing Pai Zai's diplomatic skills, Sheila's infiltration and information network, Revi's reversals, and Record's abilities to generate records about places to learn what otherwise may be lost... I'm confident in our ability to save Teresa.

My ultimate goal would be to unite Salns, Eclan, and Verden into one massive kingdom through clever marriages with the pliant Teresa and the adopted Princesses whom I raised.
