I've tried them out. I like them in small squads with maxed out Burnas (free upgrades) because they can crack some heavily armored troops if and when they charge, and I find them preferable to Stormboyz because they don't get shot at the first turn unless it's on Overwatch (which they'll have extra armor against because of cover). Great Last minute/progressive objective grabbers too

The newer products that came out in recent years won't have the problem that the very old ones have such as holes and terrible deformations, but even if you get a perfect and crisp model, it still has all the same problems as easily melts in heat, wobbly swords, easily damaged when stripping, etc because it's just the nature of the shit resin they use.

Thanks, I pumiced my hands back to normal and took bitz inventory. I have enough Kataphron claws for another guy and then two more Hydraulics without the third pincer because of a previous conversion. I was thinking of making all my spare Torsion Cannons and cables into three pairs of punchy fist weapons, then three thunder hammers to round it out. Might make another Wolverine dude as well to prevent the one I have sticking out like a sore thumb.

That should be a decent squad of facebeaters, hopefully they'll do their assigned job and keep big melee monsters off me while I shoot stuff.

Can I get some feedback on some ideas for my dark mechanics army? I just want to see what anons think of some conversion ideas.

I'm thinking of turning a sslyth into a dominus, with admech arms and head but snake body.

I want an order of slaaneshi Dragoons, with banners, tongues green stuffed all around the taser lances and maybe even some sonic weapons thrown on.

Tzeentch Electro Priests that shoot out warp fire, green stuffed out of their hands like flames.

Finally I was thinking of a load of vanguard with spears and shields but I have no idea what else I'd do with them. Maybe nurgle them up a bit and have guns coming from extra arms and growths? I just want a phalanx of radioactive cyborgs but the shooty nature of the unit just won't fit.

I have no idea for my sicarians so any ideas here would be appreciated a lot. Also any ideas for the other units in the army considering no other 40k army has caught my eye and this is essentially my second admech army I'm starting so I think I'll be doing these robots for a while.

For your phalanx, wait for IA14 and avail yourself of some Hoplites, you can get a big block of 20, chaos them up a bit and boom.
For Kataphrons I suggest Ogryns, with greenstuffed tattered cloaks and other Chaos stuff (although if you've got the money you can buy FW Plague Ogryns straight up) holding the various Kataphron weapons and probably with Grav/plasma in both hands and the flamer/phosphor on the shoulder.

For Kastelans you could remove the details from Skaven Stormfiends, mount gasmask Ogryn heads to instead of ratty ones and arm them appropriately, which is probably what I'm going to do for my 30k Castellax.

No ideas for Sicarians, but Eye of Medusa has Slaaneshi Skitarii as the enemy, so you should probably give that a read. It has a spindly Princeps who's long-limbed, armoured in gold and silver and his torso joined to his legs by swivelling on a polished globe of stone, which sounds cool.

The guy at our store is very rich and very smug, and thinks he's gonna go study at harvard. He also plays Khorne Daemons, and his armies are pretty much 80% forgeworld. He's a bitch to play against. First time I played was me with 1000 points of my GK and another dude with 2000 points of DA. We were both really new to the game, (probably my 2nd or 3rd?), so we asked him to keep the lists fun and easy, since we brought pretty much nothing but infantry. He shows up with anggrath and a Brass Scorpion of khorne and wipes us off the field.
Last game I played was me, once again with 1000 points of GK, allied to 1000 points of Whits Scars and 1000 points of Space wolves against some sort of formation that allowed him to deepstrike his bloodletters, and if they died, put them back into active reserve on a 3+. Guy got really salty after we beat him and started talking about how he'd bring this and this unit in his army next time to beat us. He does the same thing with his Death Corps when he loses.

So i need a box to carry all my stuff in. Paints, brushes, figures both finished and unfinished. I figured a box that measures 26 inches tall x 16 1/2 inches wide x 9 1/2 deep will be big enough. it will have a suitcase style telescoping handle on the top and 4 caster wheels on the bottom.
What design choices would work? I'm thinking of cutting it into individual slats of wood, and reattaching them, then painting it in a military green and stenciling an aquila on the front.

Every time I visit these threads, I see so much of the same complaints (about complete assholes) in various flavors. And I believe them, too. Am I really the only person who

- Owns FW models, but just things like tactical marines and Rhinos, so that there's a bit of visual variety for both my own and my opponent's sake
- Owns genuine FW models but doesn't make this huge soapbox fuss over recasts, whether how FW is a ripoff or how recasts are evil
- Play a fluffy list that loses pretty often
- Doesn't get salty about being stomped by WAACfags
- Keeps up with and recognizes the existence of the competitive metagame
- Doesn't complain about GW prices
- Is completely WYSIWYG, but doesn't demand opponents do the same
- Only uses fully painted models, because it just looks better and is more fun for everyone involved, but doesn't pick on others for having unpainted things
- Uses models they like even if they're shit
- Tries to make the army actually lore accurate
- Doesn't discriminate against someone for something as unrelated as their choice of faction
- Doesn't argue rules or dice roll results or try to rules lawyer

I realize this turned into a huge list of humblebrag faggot shit, but am I just a figment of my own imagination? Am I some mystical unicorn that doesn't actually exist? I know wargaming is a minor niche but 40K is the largest segment by far, so surely I can't be the only one.

Honestly from a purely utilitarian standpoint, gender-segregated regiments make more sense than integrated ones.

As mentioned previously, women are the reproductive bottleneck and are therefore more valuable to the species than males, which are expendable combat models of people. If you are going to use women for warfare, though, you have to take into account the biological differences they have and how that would affect their performance.

Women can't run as fast, aren't as strong, have lower endurance, less spatial awareness, and their thinking is less mechanical/logical and more emotional/cerebral. This makes them poor soldiers in extended campaigns that require intense physical rigor.

Oddly enough, though, women are excellent shots. I don't remember the figures or the reason, but women have excellent eye coordination and that gives them a slight edge over men in marksmanship.

You also don't want mixed regiments for the obvious reasons - humans fuck, and that complicates warfare. Hormones make administering a group of people difficult. The masculine impulse to compete over and defend women in hardwired into their biology, and that will definitely fuck up combat performance.

I'm doing fine too. It's just that our melee aspect warriors have fallen behind the times and it makes me really sad that our legendary aspect lords are garbage for yet another edition.

Addendum: I have an idea re: the upper body.

I was looking at the stock cawl uppe body piece and I feel like if I were to saw off his existing "waist" and after sticking it onto the lower body, fashion a hood into the top of the hunchback instead of his normal neck position I could probably achieve a very similar upper body effect. I only wonder if the proportions would be too weird. Pic related.
