On the other hand, they are finecast and there's a Chaos update ongoing? They've always been pretty popular in the game, I can see them getting new models. Otherwise, adding greenstuff to some old cheap terminators is always an option. They are much bulkier than regular terminators though.

Played a game with my Thousand Sons versus Ad-Mech on Konor and won by camping the objectives.
The CSM codex is solid, but I am patiently waiting for Death Guard and Thousand Sons codexes. I don't forsee huge additional options for Sons, but maybe a few modifications to vehicle or Daemon engines.

I played against Grey Knights Friday. It had some good moments for me, but it wasn't very fun for my opponent due to us not having any terrain to put down. I will probably buy/build more terrain to bring to the store so it's not so barren next time. He did however dump all over my Bullgryns with his Grand Master. One of my tank commanders was charged by a GK with a hammer and he wiffed, then my tank hit, wounded and he failed his armor save. My first kill with a vehicle in melee combat.

Celestine failed me hard that game by failing tons of armor saves. She's still awesome though. Death Cult Assassins continue to be a blender of death then die easily. Crusaders tank so much damage, until 4 GK squads Smite you to death. My Canoness also flubbed a bit this game. She hit pretty well, but he tanked 5++ saves like a champ. Then she got busted up super hard in return. I made her my warlord, so she saved 1 6+++ save leaving her alive thankfully. My Basilisk also finally did something this game. Every other game I've used it in, it did next to no damage.

Last week I play again a dude with this Commander spam list, I play BAs btw.

Reminder that:

Once upon a time there was a very friendly Guardanon with a fully painted force who liked to post batreps and WIP and generally be a cool guy. His Guardsmen weren't golden demon, not even high end, but they were pointed perfectly find for how many he had (more than you iirc). Every single time he would post though, there would be one or two autistic fucknuts who would make all sorts of noise about their color and quality. Now he knew they were not great, just like you he painted them simple and clean in batches to stay sane and look good altogether on the table. The shit slinging would not stop though no matter how much of a positive force he was in this thread, like most guardanons are. Eventually it became so bad that to spare the rest of us from constant derailments and shitposting wherever he went....he exiled himself. He set out in a quest to update EVERY SINGLE LAST ONE of his Guardsmen so as to quash his detractors, never again to post a batrep till he was done. He does it for us!
Some say, on certain nights, you can still catch him posting.....always an unfinished pile of Guardsmen in his pics, forever painting.

What can I use with my R&H army to make them less unplayable? Maybe some heavy tanks or CSM support? I have no confidence in making hordes as it's probably not going to help in my local meta.

Lucius is not only a Daemon Prince, he's THE chosen of Slaanesh. I don't think he can be killed any more than Kharn can. Too much warp favor, though Kharn would probably die when killed but he has no matches. Stronger, faster, meaner than any other marine and wounding him only makes him rage harder. I don't think he even realizes exactly how much he's blessed by Khorne.

Removable stand, removable wings so start by measuring for the size of magnets you need. Get some appropriate sized drill bits too. I'm not sure but I suspect you might need 3 or 4 mm neodymium magnets to keep the wings up. You can get those pretty cheap in bulk from aliexpress. I bought 1500 small magnets for like 20 bucks.

Ahriman, Khayon the black and Kharn can at least die. Lucius doesn't even look human any more and in the lore the kills whole groups of marines without breaking a sweat. Daemon prince might be a stretch but definitely Daemon something.

Remove the tentacle eyes and replace with clear black balls in the sockets, now a good 90% of the model has a much more grimderp to it.

You have a darker basecoat, and you're applying a brighter color on top of that right? If you mix the brighter color with medium or varnish, it will become transparent, allowing you to make a transition between the two colors. That way you can create a more natural look, and it's easier to clean mistakes too.

Is that bad? Honestly I like it. Instead of one universe being a Tolkien slapdash and the other being a far-future dystopia very loosely based on that Tolkien slapdash, GW seems to be moving their lore away from classic fantasy and into their own mythos. The Sigmar and 40k universes are like mirrors of each other now, with a lot of analogues between them but still a lot of differences. I actually think it's interesting that way, and it gives them a good reason to make the models more interchangeable so converting opportunities are plentiful.
