WHF Dark Elves (whatever it is they are called now) had Medusa as part of the latest Cauldron of Blood kit. Headswap might be necessary because GW can't into female faces, but besides that it should be good to go.

For chaos what would be a good deepstrike unit to go along with a sorcerer and warptime-charge in the enemy backfield? Would warp talons or raptors work better or maybe something else entirely?

I run rubric heavy lists but things like devestator teams and the like have a tendency to pop my transports and something to harass their heavy support teams seems like it would help a lot

"Low" model count. Mechvets used to be king back when Chimeras had fire points. They're not terrible now but certainly worse off than they were. I do like the idea of a few fully equipped veteran teams operating like operators. Three specials, a badass sgt, heavy flamer, heavy team, and a chimera. Fragile though.

Failing miserably at Malinax Knight armour. Basecoating with Zandri Dust works fine, but I can't do a thin AND consistent layer of Ushabti Bone over the top without it looking shit and covered in brushstrokes, so I can't get the "In-between" look I want.

psain jackal paint update. A thought occurred that maybe I could use a tiny ass stencil for the skull on the face plate. Cut this out of paper in about 5 minutes and laid it over a head piece. It wrapped around well but the bottom section was a hair to long. Sprayed it flat to see the detail off it. I think this approach might actually work.

That's still only technically correct. The same parts have existed since 2002. The 2006 sprue you're holding just has 2 additional head (the one on the far right of your pic and the one with the forward-curved horns and the metal jaw) and two or three additional shoulder pads. Other than that, all the parts are identical. Even the command sprue has parts from 2002, such as the Heavy Bolter, the chainmail cock curtain and the power sword.

Had an interesting rules query from a mate. If a Dark Eldar ossefactor kills a model, the unit suffers a mortal wound on a roll of 4+. If that mortal wound slays a model, does that trigger another 4+ roll for another mortal wound, and so on, and so on? My gut reaction is that is isn't, but I don't know where the rule is that would prevent it.

I've been looking at chaos bikers in the new codex. Is there any reason to replace the combi-bolter with a special weapon? You can take it separately and fire both the combi-bolter and the special weapon as well. Plus, combi-bolters are only 2 points so it's not much of a difference.

From a mechanics perspective which <Legion> tactics would best suit pre-heresy Dank Angels in 40k?

I've been thinking Emps children because they're supposed to be excellent duellists and they even get a rule in 30k where DA with swords get plus one to hit against enemies with the same WS. That or Alpha legion because 30k DA are de-facto Fallen and according to every bit of fluff about them seem to stir up trouble and rebellions wherever they appear.

Is this really so complicated? The unit casts 1 Smite as per the rules for Psychic Powers. It does not factor into it in any way if the unit in question consists of 1 Librarian or 10 Grey Knights or what-have-you. If the unit could cast more than one power, it would say so on the datasheet, as it does with Tyranid Zoanthropes who, as a unit, can cast two powers a turn.

So no, you get 1 damage, 3 against Daemons, no matter how big your unit, because the unit casts ONE power.

Thoughts on Pox Walkers vs Plague Bearers?

Plague Bearers got cheaper, but I do expect Pox Walkers to follow. So lets just assume that Plagues are a bit more expensive. What do they get for it?

Can be summoned and are faster by 1". Killier in melee due to higher potential str and rerolling all wounds. Can get stuff like instruments to be chargier. Can be much tankier with 20+ models getting -1 to hit and having a 5++ on top of their 5+++.

Pox Walkers though, they can 'heal' by killing stuff. They are fearless, which is a big weakness of the daemons and they do have the Death Guard keyword.

To me, it seems like Plague Bearers win out to be honest.

Just how important is wysiwyg? I wanna give my entire troupe harlequin's embraces, but the sprues only came with 2 and the swords kind of look nicer imo

It's a holdup from way back when the models were made and special weapons were sold as an upgrade that slotted on the bolter mounts. Later books have kept that, even though I don't think GW even sells that upgrade anymore. I hope CSM bikes get a Legion Outrider style upgrade where they can either take a special weapon on the rider or replace the bolters with a pair of special weapons.

Well, I'd say the Poxwalkers are better. They are very nearly as tough as the Plaguebearers thanks to the mindless thing and if you get Typhus nearby, they get T4 at which point they'll stay around way longer than Plaguebearers. They also don't fuck with your Death Guard faction as you said, they are a tad cheaper and they have 2 attacks. The 2 attacks thing is huge in those numbers as they can really tear through chaff, especially if you have Typhus to make that into 2 S4 attacks per 'walker.

So, when it's my opponents turn and we resolved all his charges, I choose one of my units to fight with. Can I pile in and consolidate with my units although it's not my turn?

I am not sure if I'm only allowed to do that in my turn.

Warp time to get in. The +s and +a for smacking shit. Then you take the 3++ so you can survive.

You can maybe take the death hex to fuck over enemy stormshields and shit. Maybe the 'kill a commisar on a 4+ and get a spawn' one. Those seem more situational.

Something like prescience is best for a buffing rubric or Ahriman. Infernal gaze is a bit too weak for him too.
