Spirit, Possess+Unbound.

Unbound is necessary to escape entropy, leave this universe for another. Functionally, this is the same as if I picked Reincarnation, Otherworld+The Choice+Keep Memory. The only downside is that I have to take my body of choice by force.

i know ive been saying it for months and haven't delivered, but I'm still working on it. It's difficult to write without ruining the canon. Plus I'm doing college shit full time, so it's taking awhile--sorry, but bear with me.
>>
>>54774422
Limp is fine. Rogue purification requires only that you be hugged long enough for me to tell you nice things and force pure mana into your system to flush out the bad mana. We'll turn that despair into hope before you know it!

And yeah, I know about Our Lady of Escalation, which is why I'm packing my shield from the Life rite. Can't choke me if you can't get through the shell! (Please don't be able to get though the shell; that is a horrible way to go. I just haaad to forego AoE attacks, didn't I?)

>>54775042
Friendship, acceptance and support are coming for you, anon! You cannot stop this!

>>54775644
Rogue magical girls are magical girls who have suffered (except some of the carnals... They seem to just do it for kicks, so they get a pass as long as they aren't hurting innocents), so they are getting befriended and purified. The ones who actually enjoy being horrible people for fun are getting smote
>>

>>54778066
You are a perfect victim.
>>
>>54777979
I have to say that having a girl hand you her panties still warm from her crotch is not actually that much of a turn on. I mean, it's all good fun and whatnot but in the grand scheme of things it's really not that big of a deal.
>>
>>54778037
It's okay, I still like your CYOA.
>>
>>54778076
Such plebian tastes.
>>
>>54778080
It's a matter of availability and exposure. After eight times or so, all but the most dedicated of tunnel vision fetishists will start to notice that actual sex is way more fun than going nuts over panties.
>>
>>54778101
Someone who actually had sex would realize that half the fun is the foreplay, anon.

Y'all gonna be loved and cherished and hugged and headpatted and told what good girls you are. And if I catch ANY of you bullying Jessica (or any of your sisters), you're getting spanked and grounded with no internet or phones for two weeks!
>Leona
Aw GOD DAMMIT! Right, you? We're breaking your curse. In public you'll have to act your apparent age, but at home, you can live your own life, okay? If I can see through the curse, we're halfway to breaking it already. No, we are not doing lewd stuff, not until we're sure that curse is broken. Then... Well we'll see, alright?

Nothing to it. Just have to show these lolis who's in charge- ARGH!

>Pit of Carnality, Affinity for Obsession.
>Alteration S
I can still change myself or others, just like before....the object options are weird.
>Invocation S
I'm not as big as I remember though...but I still feel the Life around me. I can call them now; it's not quite the same as before, but the Swarm's strength seems to match what I had, collectively.

>Dexterity S+

Where did my feet go again?
>Siphon S
Where is that Dark Knight? I wonder if she's feeling so confident now?
>Flowing Body Runes, Tome's contents written in flowing Ink.
I'm moving through a few too many bodies to worry about actual clothes these days. Shimmer seems to think it's funny and keeps making jokes about how one of us is going to have to change.

>Clean Up
Oh We Have Got This Handled. Can probably turn any garbage into structures for colonies while we're at it.
What money? no that's still nonsense, we'll just turn in spare plastic and collect change. You know how much people lose at a beach or park?
>Help People.
You have some very strange definitions of helping people.
>Retake Utopius.
Still need to get around to this.

Humor cyoas are great.
>Beer and classic rock
>Windowless white van (2-4 lolis, 4 acts, forced to adopt 2 lolis)
>Acts: Headpatting, hugs, smooching, holding hands
>Lolis: Mary, Hannah, Sammy, Jade
>Adopting: Hannah, Jade
Mary needs to be unlewded and only I can do it. Sadly Jade takes precedence and I need Hannah to be a good rolemodel for her.
I want Sammy too. She's a good kid.

>being forced to adopt the lewd loli
>soiled goods as you
>knifepoint adoption signings
>Jade: You can't tell anymore since it doesn't seem to make any difference
I'm having a blast reading this. Absurd comedy cyoas with an unreliable narrator are the best.
Man I wish I had ideas like this. I love the characters.

>>
>>54778384
I agree it's what many people want, it's still animu waifushit

>>54778408
>>54778368
No. I'm saying I want to make a history inspired CYOA set on 5 March 1953, the day Stalin died. You play a powerful member of the Communist Party and get to select your background, ethnicity, history. Now that Stalin's dead there's a power struggle with hardliners, reformists, and petty criminals all vying for different stakes. Yoy make a build with a network of contacts to try and achieve it without getting your "risk" too high. I imagine it to be a sliding scale at the lowest levels you're above reproach and at the highest you're instantly arrested and executed. Goals are things like becoming General-Secretary of the Party, or becoming the wealthiest man in the USSR, or executing all your enemies

You're definitely not a good person in the game, but it was inspired by Time of Troubles CYOA. I'm still trying to decide how I want to make it but I thought it would a nice and huge change of pace from this anime waifushit by at least being a lot different
>>

>>54778704
>it would a nice and huge change of pace from this anime waifushit by at least being a lot different
Sure go hog wild. Make something good and you might get your wish.
Until then pls no shitpost?
>>
>>54778704
Stop asking and start making. People will keep complaining about this anyways.
>>
>>54778704
You've made the classic mistake of trying to turn a CYOA into a game. Go play an RPG for that, it's not what CYOAs are good for.
>>
>>54778725
>pls no shitpost
Who even cares. You get a 3 day ban for posting the same anime girl in succession. You get a 1 month ban for being fat. You apparently don't get banned if you shit up in an entire thread and post screenshots of bugchasing or have /pol/tier discussions about homosexuality. I'm starting to think SDA is blackmailing the janitors to selectively ignore /cyoag/.

Yes, I'm salty.
>>
>>54778758

>>
>>54778758

>>54778731
>Shitpost about your fapstasy of being a magical girl is constructive and saying it's retarded isn't because I want muh safe space

>>54778752
Ok what would you recommend to make it better? I like Time of Troubles and the like but I agree they become way too complex and start requiring an Excel Sheet to track your choices. When designing a CYOA do you find it better to make a simple "pick a few" options, or a simple "pick one out of 12"? What's an example of a more complex CYOA you find to be well designed and interesting?
>>
>>54778775
I'm not her. I'm not either of them. I've just been banned dozens of (or at least 12+) times on /cyoag/ for inane shit. Stuff that wasn't even off-topic or shitposting. It kind of boils my blood to then see an entire thread devolve into /pol/posting and no one gets banned. I honestly don't know how this system works anymore. What actually gets someone banned?
>>
>>54778775
He's not wrong, though he is a faggot.
>>
>>54778007
I mean the current writers for the show are already doing it, so whats stopping you?
>>
>>54778818
>Shitpost about your fapstasy of being a magical girl is constructive and saying it's retarded isn't because I want muh safe space
What that has to do with complaining about animoo waifushit?
>>
>>54778848
Because you're saying stop whining start making

I am making and I'm also stopping by to say holy shit the problem of animu waifushit has become way worse. I only lurk these threads once every few weeks but it seems like every time I check it's pretty much just choose your waifu instead of ANY CYOA. that's why I'm taking some action but Christ people wtf is wrong with you
>>
>>54778818
The most important thing to keep in mind is what a CYOA is for. Short of RPing in the thread, there's only one thing you CAN do with a CYOA, and that's imagine yourself in it and how you would live. If it's not designed for that, doesn't make that an enjoyable thing to do, then it's absolutely worthless as a CYOA.

Ultimately that means you the player are sucked into some kind of wish-fullfillment scenario, and given a variety of options that you can imagine interacting with in your new life (remember, real life isn't numbers). I guess there are some people who can enjoy a more negative scenario, but I think it needs some kind of silver lining to be worth imagining.
>>
>>54778859
>only lurk these threads once every few weeks
You are aware that complaining about the current state of a thread you barely go to lurk is a bit retarded right?
>>
>>54778819
Most posters get banned maybe once every few months at best. Don't try and pretend its for "inane shit", even if you aren't the serial shitposter (and I really doubt you're being honest) you still almost certainly need to fuck off.
>>
>>54778890
He's right that the moderation here is shit, people who should be banned never are and the threads suffer for it.
>>
>>54778871
Honestly, thanks. You're right a CYOA is fundamentally a degree of wish fulfilment and do failing to keep that in mind will make the game unplayable. I guess I made a game that was too historical and required character making instead of self insert. Which is fine now I just need to make a more interesting CYOA concept for the players here.

I'm not against romance even just the shitty waifu nonsense in these threads.

>>54778889
I left due to all the waifushit. Every time I check back or check the archive it's heavily filled with waifu shit. Even cool CYOA will turn into waifushit with annoying animu art halfway through. Good CYOA OC often gets ignored in favour of Fulfill My Fetish: Edition 12. Yes, I think I know what I'm talking about
>>
>>54778943
>Even cool CYOA will turn into waifushit with annoying animu art halfway through
>If a CYOA uses anime art it is instantly waifushit regardless of its content
You really ARE an idiot.
>>
>>54778943
>I left due to all the waifushit
Can you stay gone? Nobody wants to hear about how you think you're a real CYOA fan whose opinion matters despite only liking around 50% of the medium. All of the real people who enjoy the medium like both waifu and non-waifu CYOAs. You are literally as bad as the women and babies who go into gaming and start crying about how it's too hard or exclusive and not catered to their tastes. Just kill yourself already.
>>
>>54778890
I've been here from the start. Most times I get banned is when I make the mistake of replying to a shitpost, my post is deemed off-topic and I'm banned, but the original shitpost isn't.

Example.
>anon: women are inferior and whores
>me: not all women are inferior or whores (BANNED)
>>
>>54778966
No, it turning into "pick a waifu" makes it waifushit

>>54778981
>[autistic screeching intensifies]
Fucking normies, eh? How could anyone possibly have different taste than you?

This is why good content creators leave. When you get triggered by he fact they don't like catering to shit tastes as they exist here and then sperg when people call you on it
>>
>>54778793
How is not forcing fags in the closet going to destroy the family unit?

Don't engage with him. He literally thinks homosexuality is going to destroy western civilization. He cannot be saved. Report and ignore him and return to posting about cyoas.

Definitely something of the authoritarian variety, cant have jonny dumbass running through the reactors or hassim al fuckwit being a glutton and taking beyond his share.
Perhaps a junta of commanders? Kind of an oligarchic council. Could also see a strong captain rising to power and going full dictatorial with his power or maybe a slightly representative fascism. Get like the mechanists, growers, labors, all have representatives to be the voice of that arm of the state or ship in this case.
>>
>>54779495
I have at least 4 more worlds to put on that page, a body customization section, a boon/perk section that mostly focuses on powers that would be helpful but not super with some exceptions, a job system that would allow you to earn a few more points and some job specific boons, and a drawbacks section. Those are what is planned as of now, mate.

Probably the lewd world.

Actually, the job system would let you be a reaper so...

Seconding >>54779524's call for sci-fi. We also need a fantasy mecha setting for all the people who want to do Rayearth and Escaflowne.

I'd also love to see a Fairyland setting that paid tribute to classic Isekai novels, like Alice in Wonderland, Chronicles of Narnia, and the Wizard of Oz.

It seems to me that the author's interpretation of cyberpunk is already general-purpose believable scifi.

Version 1.0 Full release. Don't currently plan any more updates, other than legitimate mistakes, though feedback can always change that.

1.0
* Toned down language on millenia old dragon aging
* Observed that yes, liches can attain holy magics, but it's particularly difficult.
* Reworked troll lore significantly to make them much more appealing.
* "Improved" Wendigo with a more reliable form of immortality.
* Tweaked Kraken a bit. Upper body can be above water, no problem.
* Pointed out that Dryad tree continues to grow.
* Djinns are "mostly" human in appearance when not using their powers.
* ADDED Werebeast: low-power (relative to others) but can often pass as human, and spread "infection" somewhat.
* ADDED Golem: Big drawback is that they are sexless.

>>54771835

Dragons' magic reflects where they spend their ages, so perhaps you could try to be adopted by a holy temple?
>>54778081

As evidenced by my accepting and incorporating feedback from the last thread, the latter point is not the case. >>
>>54780751
You know what? Sure.
I'll take the new troll. Hell, I'll take the offer on the soul mate, too. You don't get one of those everyday.

Now, I'm not a particularly fancy and civilized person, and it's not like I can't enjoy a good scrap, but I'm also not going to run around naked, killing for fun, and eating people.
While I doubt we'd stay passably human looking, I think my love and I could keep each other sane enough to stay looking good.

Our problems in our old age will be social and logistical. Humans as a group can be very xenophobic towards a species that generally consists of dimwitted cannibals, and the quantities of food and clothing required for our large bodies can be difficult to acquire. That's to say nothing of keeping a roof tall enough to be over our heads, and a bed large enough to hold us comfortably. In the end, though, it's doable.

I'm a pretty good gardener, and I understand modern crop rotation. We've got a good five or so decades to learn how to farm, and build a homestead far, far away from civilization. Clothes can be made woven from the fibers of our crops, and leather from animals we hunt or raise. Wood should be abundant where we go, and for metal tools, well... I've watched Youtube videos on the subject, how hard can it be? I'm going to fuck that up a lot, but I'll get it eventually.

Magic seems to be a thing in this world, but not something everyone can do. I don't really know how that works, so I can't really rely on it in my plan, but I would look into learning some form of nature magic. It's useful, and rather thematic.

Now, long term goals are to produce enough food to have more than even we need, and to create a homestead that shows that we are reasonable people, and not mindless brutes.
Should explorers or travelers show up, and don't try to kill us, the clear answer is to offer them a meal and a place to sleep out of the cold. When civilization actually catches up, I want us to be valuable as traders, farmers, guides, and guardians. Needing us should give people time to get to know us, and be less afraid of the two story tall women.

Oh, and looks-wise when we're older? You know The Bard's Big Line Up? I'm aiming at a less naked version of that delicious mountain troll. Can't post that on a christian image board, though.

I have thought this through way too far...

Trolls are the most essential magical being.

>>
>>54782486
Being magic and using magic are very different. There's a word for a creature that both is a thing and manipulates that thing - an elemental. Exceptions to this are, well, the exception, and need to be made explicit as it is with Dragons and Dryads.
>>
>>54779267
Unf, those lines are driving me fucking wild. Time to ressurrect my flight suit folder.
>>
>>54782449
That's definitely a possibility. Magic isn't really defined in this CYOA, so I can't really predict how that would go.
The most I can say is that I'm willing to try, and see how it turns out. If it goes poorly, I can just fall on the backup of trying to remember my chemistry education. At least potassium nitrate is easy to make, if somewhat time consuming.
Remember, hardwood ash. Only hardwood.
You don't want to waste a year's worth of fermented piss making sodium nitrate.

megacorp cyoa.png

I just now started a new project.
I wanted to start megacorp from the beginning.
This one is pretty much the polar opposite of the previous incarnation.
It starts out with a fully build world, the products you can make are bought from a pre-determined list and the focus is on defending that "territory" from other corps, using intrigue, power plays and underhanded methods.
I'm going to include some major players soon, and I figured some of you might already have had fantasies or ideas about super rich characters that I could include. I was thinking 6 major rivals, with the other competition being innumerable smaller companies. But the ship would be filled with a great number more of colourful characters; rich stockholders, powerful crime lords, ambitious politicians and of course regular companions to help you run your company.
>>
>>54782571
Did it look kinda like >>54780751? Can you share anything else about the CYOA you're looking for?
>>
>>54781999
Nice plan! The intent is that creatures that aren't mentioned as having magic (such as those mentioned by >>54782577) cannot acquire it. Trolls would be, frankly, *too* good if they could also be wizards. That's one of the things, for example, that makes golems not terrible: they can learn some magic.

Even if I can't use it, I'd still like to learn as much as I can about magic before we head out into the boonies. It's an interesting subject, and knowing your druids from your cultists seems like a handy skill when trying avoid getting dead in magic land. Janet, by far. The position under Roxanne is a bit tempting in many ways but just loses out to the ad business. You are in a lukewarm relationship; 15 points

She is dating your worst rival and loves him; 75 points
She is a public whore incapable of loving you; 100 points

That would totally make sense though. Choosing bigger vassals would mean choosing more uppity vassals.
It's a trade-off. You get more points in exchange for something bad. Isn't that the absolute essence of how cyoas work?
>>54783146
It is about being a CEO though. I don't see where you got the idea it isn't.

How about this idea. You start with five points, but you can buy more capital by selling stock. It's noted explicedly that this reduces your control over the company but it's not exactly quantified.
>>

That sounds better, although for the purposes of the cyoa I'd say limit the sale of stocks to a maximum of 49% so you have to remain the majority shareholder. If you stop being in charge of your megacorp you effectively "lost".
>>
>>54783219
>It is about being a CEO though.
Then criticisms based around being a mere janitor are hyperbolic and are not really valid, are they?

Compare to a kingdom CYOA that is potentially more about initially seizing power than ruling over time. Having different levels of difficulty in dominating the kingdom's directives, with more points based on the scenario, is not really that unusual.
>>
>>54780751
Somehow i missed the first version, that gets me kinda worried, what if i missed some other OC too.

It would be kinda cool to have more clarification on what forms are compatible with humans, like it's more clear for a dryad or non-fire djinn, but can wendingos and werewolves have sex with humans in their monster forms.
>>
>>54783269
Nah, CEOs don't need majority stake. It just means you have a wider array of goals and paths to the original goal.

Doesn't the idea of a hostile takeover of your own company fire up your blood? Betrayal and back channels with frenemies? Why use the megacorp setting at all if you're not going to get in the swing of things?

There is if you are the CEO. It's a position, like General Manager of a supermarket, autobody shop, or restaurant. Likewise, the President or Prime Minister of a country doesn't own the country but still runs it according to the laws of the land -
in this case corporate, fiscal, and governmental.

You are always answerable to investors/allies, it's just a matter if there are any, how many, and for how much?

the first half is basically the general state and moodl of the people or civilization in the setting. Grim - 40ks empire. Comfy - the Shire.
The second half is the general feel of the World. Bright being relativity calm and fair to dark which is dangerous and cruel.
Therefore Grimbright would be a harsh or at least highly strict populace in an otherwise fair world or environment. An example would be game of thrones. While there are dangers and hardships to the world it in of itself is not the main source of the problems. The people are what make themselves grim.

Oh my GOSH that would infuriate me. They killed her firstborn and sent her his skull, and they apparently moved beyond being like monsterkind. I imagine they found a way to ascend closer to the gods at the cost of sacrificing the souls of the monsters they slay, or something where they actively seek to kill monsters for their own power. At the very least, it best be a misunderstanding on both ends, but it sure as hell sounds like the monsters are actually the good guys.
>>
>>54784416
I'm sorry. I should have specified: it's patrician if you are to identify as the monster. Few things seem more fun than being a huge, hulking minotaur laying waste to a city and raping everything with a hole I see.
>>
>>54784353
>min-max fairly heavily (eg: 2free 10sub)
Those numbers make me think you either forgot that all colored numbers ADD to their respective point pools (Slave Shack, for example, costs 2 influence and grants 2 freedom points), or have a very different idea on what counts as "heavy min-maxing".
>>
>>54784474
Nope, still shit. Don't be a fag and just commit genocide until there's literally nothing left.
>>
>>54784458
Even if they're not the good guys, like if humanity felt genuinely threatened by the firstborn, sending the skull to the mother was a dick move and her children are acting in a manner that's entirely understandable: "You bastards killed our beloved brother and made our mother weep, so now we'll make your mothers weep."
>>
>>54783741
Probably trying to cater to the guy/guys that complain about "sissy" stuff and the prevalence of the little girl options. Just a guess, though. I'm no mind reader.
>>
>>54784505
Yeah, I added properly. There's just a limit to what I'd consider myself willing to endure The results were still 60% utter indifference even when remaining loyal. Commencing tests for freedom now.

He said it was for lore reasons but he did not specified on the lore and said it was kinda of a dumb reason. But it makes me curious.
>>
>>54784529
Why must every creative decision made by an author boil down to catering according to you guys?
>>
>>54784585
If you include the author in, "you guys," I think you might actually be on to something.
>>
>>54784575
I think it's simple: If the mother of monsters could make female offspring, her children could propagate out of control. The gods laid a curse/forbade her to make female children, to control the numbers of monsters.
>>
>>54784656
But humans were monsters before and obviously there are females.
>>

This is looking damn good, just go a little easier on the ellipses.

Ah, a fellow man of culture. But, being serious, the CYOA is not meant to be that much of a Magical Realm, the options are there but only if you get creative. Since the fetish is not the primary focus of the CYOA, there's no reason to ruin the fun of those that dig monstergirls.

>>54784422
The gods created a cultural divide between monsters and humans, to make the latter demonize the former, ensuring that no pesky feelings of regret would stop their hand during the war.

After they won, they forced the all-mother to relinquish the ability to birth both humans (to prevent a situation where a population of humans worshipping the all-mother would come into contact with their worshippers and reveal the charade) and females (other females born of the all-mother possess a fraction of her endless fertility, so they did it to prevent the monsters from regaining their former numbers)

I'm changing it so that females born of her after the war no longer have that enormous fertility, keeping the lore relatively intact and keeping the ban on humans.

Of course, the all-mother stopped birthing children as soon as she was carried to her prison. She is not so cruel as to give life to someone who will live forever imprisoned, and she's only giving you a new body because your human soul will allow you to escape from her prison.
>>
>>54784722
Incest? I doubt it.

New numbers are in. With 17free 4sub, there was a total of 50% good, 35% bad and 15% indifferent endings (so bad, given the goal was freedom). This is an incongruous result however, given I got 4 nat20s in a row. I could plot all this on a chart, but I really lack the patience for that.
>>
>>54784549
Honestly I just thought of typical video games where the (usually) human player characters grow in strength (level up) by killing monsters.

Remove the rpg mechanics and make it more of a soul sacrificing/absorbing ritual, and the basics are still there. Kill monsters, become a hero, maybe ascend into something akin to godhood.

Monsters on the other hand, have a higher level of strength they can achieve, and possibly grow much stronger as they age compared to humans, but don't actually gain more than basic nourishment (if even that) from killing humans.

Also figured the lack of monstergirl options might of been due to a curse later placed on the mother of monsters. Alternatively, she hasn't had any new children in quite some time, and possibly doesn't have the strength to create a monster with the ability of making other monsters.

Although, that could just be mentioned in a footnote, all of her children are incapable of producing children of their own, with maybe an expensive boon that allows you to sire/give birth to other monsters, which would make you a high profile target but give you the chance to carry on the future of monsterkind.

Assuming all of these elipses in the intro is because the mother of monsters has lost a lot of her power and might be somewhat close to dying.

...I think our mission here is clear: we need to win this war as her first favoured son after imprisonment and force the gods to free the all-mother (or at the very least, restore the bond between her and humanity and allow her children freedom).

Traditional golems are difficult to create, as the magical knowledge and power required to permanently animate inert matter requires decades of study. An ambitious, but somewhat magically inept, artificer named Jack wanted to see if he could decrease the requirements by giving life to a machine, reasoning that it would take less magical energy to give life to something that could move under its own power. The result was Manikin, a prototype of a new species of golems.

As a creature of steam, clockwork, and pistons, Manikin requires a source of fuel, be it wood, coal, or oil. Fortunately, his techno-magical nature means he consumes less than his level of activity would indicate. He also is far more vulnerable than traditional golems. Damage to critical systems reduces his performance proportionally until the auto-repair fixes it.

In exchange, Manikin mechanical nature gives him inhuman levels of precision, an affinity for artifice magic, and the ability to quickly burn up fuel for a boost to his physical capabilities.

Jack treats his creation as both a son and an apprentice. Due to his tireless nature, Manikin does work around the house, runs errands, and assists in the laboratory. In exchange, he gets tutoring, refueling, and an occasional upgrade.

If that's something you worry about, just don't group them together with the husbandos.
Also, if you are going for a 50/50 split (I'm not advocating this, just saying), remember that odd numbers are cooler than even numbers. A husbando (female) would be the best choice in that regard, in my opinion.

are you trying to imply that Camus is somehow advocating that? Because really, he is not. He doesn't actually say how to deal with it. He just says to keep living because reasons, because he personally thinks that doing so is a triumph over the absurdity of life or some shit. It doesn't mean shit if you don't happen to share his personal opinions about life. He's really no better than the existentialists who say "Create your own meaning!" even though their own worldview says that's impossible.

>>54786611
This. And even if you did want to adopt the mindset of "YAY FOR MEANINGLESSNESS, LET'S PARTY!", that's not really possible for anyone except those who are rich enough that they don't have to work. Otherwise, it makes the drudgery of daily life sting even more. "I have to live a pathetically short existence, and I have to spend most of it doing shit that I hate?"

I'm not the guy you where speaking to, and I don't have any education in fancy philosophizing, but to me, the meaninglessness of life is an invitation to assign meaning to it, and it's short span is incentive to make that assigned meaning one that you consider to be worth the little time you have.

Alright! That settles it! I'm putting my all into this one and then I'm getting back on to work on Guardian Spirit!

But he does say how to deal with it. He doesn't give specific '10 steps to reach meaning' for everyone to follow because there are none that could be provided.

>existentialists who say "Create your own meaning!" even though their own worldview says that's impossible
If you're talking about absurdism, absurdism does in no way deny that people can find meaning in things. It's only that there is no 'large scale' meaning to the universe or anything.

>>54786819
I don't see how anyone could call absurdism deluding oneself if they actually understand it.

>>54786824
If by classic nihilism you mean 'in the way that Nietzsche and the like used it', then no, Neither Camus or Nietzsche were not nihilist.
>>
>>54786862
I still don't really get what you're talking about. I don't believe in any Heaven like afterlife, only the possibility of consciousness coming back after death. If it can be created from nothing (before the bigbang) once, it probably can again.

>delusion is denying reality, anon.
Yes. And claiming that you can create meaning in a universe where meaning doesn't objectively exist is denying reality.

>If you say, "objectively life is meaningless, but fuck it, I'm going to make my own meaning", that's not delusional.
It's just as delusional as saying "Objectively there's no God, but fuck it, I'm going to believe that there is." In both cases, you're saying that something doesn't exist and then deciding to live as if it does exist anyway.

>>54786943
>If you're talking about absurdism, absurdism does in no way deny that people can find meaning in things.
But it does say that whatever meaning those people find is just something they made up for themselves.

nobody does that though. That's just a strawman. Nihilists say 'there is absolutely no meaning, so you can't even create meaning', while absurdists say 'the only meaning is the one you construct yourself'.

>But it does say that whatever meaning those people find is just something they made up for themselves.
Yeah, so what? Doesn't mean it doesn't have value to them.
>>
>>54786962
The issue is the idea that consciousness can be resumed when it can't. Even if the universe was on a cycle, they'd be different copies of you each time.

If other people don't value what you do, then you're but an island.
>>
>>54786983
>Yes. And claiming that you can create meaning in a universe where meaning doesn't objectively exist is denying reality.
No it isn't. If you choose for something to have meaning, then subjectively, it has meaning. It's like playing a game - objectively nothing you're doing actually matters. But by saying "this is what we will do, and this is how we will get pointe, and whoever gets the most points wins," it now subjectively matters to its participants.

If life doesn't have meaning, then pick your scoring system of choice, the rules you're going to follow, and play to win.

>nobody does that though. That's just a strawman. Nihilists say 'there is absolutely no meaning, so you can't even create meaning', while absurdists say 'the only meaning is the one you construct yourself'.
And the absurdists are wrong. They're not willing to accept the full implications of their worldview, so they come up with some bullshit to avoid those implications.
>>
>>54787118
Subjectivity is foolishness.
>>
>>54787092
Oh, so you have magic thinking. I see.
>>
>>54787109
What? Is this some weird confusion tactic? Just because meaning has to come from yourself doesn't mean that you can't value others.

>>54787136

>>
>>54787136
By what standard? Your subjective one? Then you're claiming you're a fool. An objective standard? No such thing, so you're doubly a fool.
>>
>>54787118
>No it isn't. If you choose for something to have meaning, then subjectively, it has meaning.
Exactly. It *subjectively* has meaning. Just like God *subjectively* hates fags according to certain religious folk. And since the universe is inherently meaningless, both of those positions are equally valid.
>>
>>54786693
Yeah, I probably did make my character a bit too technological for a medieval fantasy. Although it was implied that this CYOA takes place in the same world as Mentor, Lover, Friend, Rival, which had a Gnomish Inventor.
>>
>>54787162
>Then give me an actual reason why they would be wrong instead of just going 'it doesn't make sense'
They're not being consistent. They're not following their worldview to its logical conclusion. They're just keeping the parts that make them feel intellectually superior and ignoring the parts that they don't like.
>>
>>54787207
Their worldview is perfectly self-consistent. Just because there is no larger scale meaning doesn't mean there can't be one on a smaller scale. Assuming that isn't taking something to it's logical conclusion, that's just another worldview.
>>
>>54787168
Assuming there's no God or that God doesn't, the latter is less meaningful. After all, just because meaning is subjective doesn't mean you can't objectively fail based on your own subjective rules. Saying "God hates fags" if God doesn't is like using a pawn like a knight in chess - you've eliminated the very subjective meaning you tried to create.

Before the thread falls off the board, I figured I'd let you know that I'm happy you tried to save me.
The reason I put up no resistance it because I don't want to fight people that are just trying to help. While I would just shunt the pure mana into the infinite pit of despair granted by S ranked Reserves, I'm just going to let you tucker yourself out, then whisper in your ear.

Thank you for trying, I'm just not ready.

What you need is a benevolence or hope girl. I can redeem those that fight, but someone who's lost all hope in a better life and a better world? Much as I really want to help, it's not particularly my skill-set...

Not that I'm going to stop trying mind you.

Can I say I love that the Magical Girl CYOA has generated this kind of response? I dunno why; it just makes me happy inside.

Weeeelll... I haven't actually determined whether this is in that world. I probably should to make my life easier, but Mentor/Lover/Friend/Rival is a world in which immortality is basically unheard of, so a lot about it doesn't really fit.

For the Dryad, is the tree also allowed to be a giant flower? I always find that the more elegant and sexier option.

Rather than a "little boy" option, it would be nice to have an option that directly regresses you to your peak adult age without having to go back in time. Anyway, here my choices:

>Immortality
>Waifu
>Money
>The Clock

With the clock I'd turn back time to when I was a peak adult.

With this build I have zero intention of fighting any other magical girls. If attacked, I would just escape. I have S rank agility that will allow me to fly incredibly fast. With C rank warp I can spam teleport as well, which will let me go much faster. With B rank mind, S rank mana reserves, and the ability to pause time to think carefully about the next spot I am going to teleport to I can spam teleport incredibly fast and seemingly without limit.

On top of this, I will be using C rank Luna to make myself nearly invisible. Each time I teleport and jump around any pursuers capable of keeping up with me would need to search the area to find me again.

Teleport will also allow me to escape a strong grappler's holds, gravity wells, or other abilities that might otherwise stop my escape.

If I do sustain damage, I have S rank defense combined with B rank life magic that I can use to heal myself.

Blood magic would ensure that I live a comfy life - for example if I need money I could simply command a rich person to give me money or command others to deliver goods to me.
Blood can be used offensively if needed. I could command people to kill themselves or turn people into assassins. Using blood magic I'd take down the ruling elite.

Using my hybrid outfit I can swap from blood to conjure. With S rank conjure I can use the B rank conjure ability to summon bombs. Conjure also allows me to create duplicates of myself, which I can send to do my dirty work for me, so I don't risk myself.
>>

you're one of my favorite cyoa makers too, you're the only one who makes consistently decent waifus in their cyoas. half the time i look at waifus in cyoas and 9 out of 15 of them are complete non-options, but with you, it's almost always a hard choice because they're all pretty well written.
>>

>>
>>54788145
>>54778632

But how will you escape sanic the magical girl?

Even if she has to search every time you teleport, she is much much faster than you.

Also, B rank warp grants much better ability to suddenly change directions.

mind you that the CYOA isn't about fighting other magical girls anyway (save perhaps the occasional rogue), but teaming up with other magical girls.
