Only trolls - orcs are supposedly around human length in the same conditions. And if you think this is worth living in the middle of nowhere with no modern amenities, because apparently even the thought of metahumans not shitting in mud huts is enough to make mana poisonous to trogs, then you deserve to die of whatever easily treatable disease you get out there.

Is the Ares Echo Unlimited worth the Nuyen or should I go down to a DR 4 deck? I'm mainly just interested in it because I wanted a DR5 deck and I mainly care about attack, so it seems way more cost effective than a Cyber-5.

It's a new strain of Deepweed, rumor says it was first pulled from deep (DEEP) in the Mariana Trench. By ghosts.
When inhaled, the user becomes MAD CHILL, and is down with whatever. Easy prey for a powerful spirit. Its dank cult fumigates entire sections of sewer and slums with the smoke, netting whole groups of new people at a time. There's a ton of them, but they're all pretty dull, and they all need re-dosing every duration to keep them captive.

Am I the only GM who completely ignores this retarded bit of fluff and just have Orks get the same lifespan as humans and Trolls just a bit short due to biological constraints.

Like having a quicker age of maturity and a longer muscle-mass lifespan is fine, but them dying faster because CGL just wants to keep the idea of Orks being expendable is fucking retarded and completely illogical.

I fluff it as being an urban myth spread to justify harder law enforcement on Orks and Trolls. Which makes sense because they're tougher so cops legit have to use an amount of force that is less controllable and ergo can lead to a higher fatality rate.
>>
>>54733313
Yes, in several places. Don't believe the memes
>>
>>54734008
I actually say trolls live really long lives naturally, like almost as long as elves, but stay as "teenagers" well into their twenties.
>>
So yeah, The Total Nigger is crap, but I will say the info on the Black Forest and those Viking raiders in SU is kinda neat.

Pretty much everything else is trash.
>>
>>54734008
Yeah I'm with you on that. Honestly when I first saw the numbers in 4E I thought it was due to socioeconomic factors. I do like the whole thing about them maturing faster though, basically just hitting puberty earlier.

Trolls... I don't know, as far as I know, longevity generally increases in mammals with size. Feels like this dude >>54734229 might be on to something. Although I'd put their lifespan at maybe 100 on average.
>>
>>54734309
Well, it was the natural element but also the fact that in folklore/myths giants and trolls are usually supposed to be able to be pretty ancient.
>>
>>54734008
I personally don't ignore it but change the numbers.
So yeah, most orks suffer from Methuselah's syndrome and won't reach 50 due to rapid aging. But a small amount of them are born without and reach normal human life-spans (80 years). I'd say that 3-5% are born without the syndrome.
As for Trolls, yeah they mature far faster at the beginning, but don't change much into old age. A 30 y.o. Troll and a 50 y.o. Troll are similar in vitality. Only in the last 10 years does their system break down.
>>
>>54734008
My GM does the same. Orks have regular human lifespans, though their tendency towards violent lives skews the figures. Trolls also age normally, but are prone to developing heart conditions as they get older.
>>
>>54734344
Oh yeah I'm not against the idea of having trolls living for several hundred years, it makes sense out of the folklore/myth perspective as you say. I just personally tend to tone a lot of the extreme elements down in my Shadowrun. But you did inspire me just now to up their longevity to my previously mentioned number, so kudos on mentioning it!

My setting has some fluff homebrew parts that I guess would be called complete abominations according to those who prefer following the setting according to the books.

>CENTAURS
>A centaur is a mammal of the equine family, and one of the
>few that breaks the usual rule on number of limbs. Its lower body
>resembles that of a horse, with four legs ending in a four-toed
>foot (three of the toes are vestigial, only present in the leg, while
>the fourth toe forms a hoof like a modern horse), while its upper
>body—where the head and neck would be on a horse—resembles

>opposable thumb, and a vaguely equine head with an extended
>cranium perched on an long neck. They typically stand 2.5–3
>meters tall at the shoulder and mass 300–600 kilograms.
Runners companion p. 63

>Merrow
>With its humanoid upper body, tapering torso, and slender but strong
>tail, the merrow vaguely resembles the mermaids of classic fairy tales.
>Its long forelimbs end in three-fingered hands with opposable thumbs.
>A long mane covers its neck, and a series of extended spinal vertebrae
>runs the length of the torso. Despite the dermal bone that armors its
>lower body, the merrow’s tail is remarkably flexible. Merrow are known
>to use simple tools, and many parazoologists believe them to have me-
>tahuman levels of intelligence.
20th Anniversary p.300
>>
>>54735442
I take most of my information from 4E runner companion though. Which just makes it worse that they dump out a new edition but don't try to rectify any of their past questionable choices, but instead just copypaste most of it. And the changes they have done are even more questionable.
>>
>>54735314
>remember kids, just beign a talkin horse isn't special enoug, now you can be a socially stigmatised, by other horses, talking horse,
>>
>>54735450
Oh and I forgot something:
First, there's an actual mermaid species in SR

>MERMAID
>Merhomo illecebrae
>Habitat: Temperate, subtropical, and tropical oceanic waters
>Range: Global
>Frequency: Common
>Identification: The mermaid is an Awakened variant of the
>California sea lion (Zalophus californianus). Its lower body and
>head closely resemble that of the mundane species. However, the
>animal is clearly distinguished by its mane of flowing hair that runs
>down its back. Mermaids are also characterized by a pair of arms
>which end in four-fingered webbed and clawed hands that replace
>their front flippers. Both male and female mermaids possess
>pronounced mammae. Specimens are up to 210 centimeters in
>length and in excess of 350 kilograms in weight.
They hunt fish and mollusk but take on bigger animals if needed, biting them and shredding them with their claws. They kill metahumans by dragging them underwater until the prey drowns.
Pictured on the left.

Oh and here's something for centaurs, same book
>A centaur is an equine-like species. Its lower torso
>resembles that a horse, with four legs ending in hooves. Its upper
>torso, where the head and neck would be on a horse, resembles a
>primate with long arms ending in three digits and an opposable
>thumb.
Guess the artist didn't count their fingers when drawing it.
>>
>>54735675
Please don't bully the artist. He was hired to draw, not to do math.

But for real though, the mermaids are fabulous and terrifying, and I love that they're in the game. The Loreal Seal.
>>
>>54735450
And for those wondering why vampirism isn't mentioned in the description I posted:
Apparently 5e made it that Merrow can contract HMHVV.
Yes, the disease called Human-MetaHuman-Vampiric-Virus, now affects not only humans and metahumans, but also sasquatches and Merrow.
>>
>>54735675
>Both male and female mermaids possess pronounced mammae.

Mermaid(male)?
>>
>>54735820
To be fair, Sasquatches could already contract it in 4E, and they are mentioned as possibly being related to a common ancestor of metahumans. Merrows though... I don't think there's an excuse for that.

On a completely different note, I give the Minotaur metavariant Satyr legs. Should I be sued?

>>54735870

You mean have nagas be more like nagas. Nagas are snake-mermaids in mythology/folklore already; Shadowrun took a hard left turn with them. Lamias, on the other hand, have traditionally held a diverse and fairly random assortment of different monstrous appearances; it's only in recent years that Lamia has become a second name for Naga.

I mean it is kinda 50/50 between snake-mermaids and just huge snakes. Actually I'd say a larger part of depictions of Nagas are huge snakes. But yeah, I see no reason why they'd go with the full snake instead of snake mermaid when both are valid.

Yes, in a majority but not all. And even some of those that do refer to them as being able to take either a fully human or fully snake form still talks about their form being half human half snake.

But Nagas are inherently magical in Shadowrun, and a lot of them are mages, so being able to appear fully human would probably be no problem.

But hey, it's called homebrew for a reason, we all do our own versions.
>>
>>54738130
>>54738130
I've given mermaids their own sapience, but they're a lot more chill and social than Merrow. They hang out on the flooded California coasts, and hang out with surfers similarly to amphibious dolphins. A few have started to adopt surfer bro culture, and they bark out slang. They don't fully understand the cultural divide, so they'll greet civilians with the 'hang loose' hand gesture.

Surfers have given a few of them wife beaters and shades, and they wear them around on the beaches and the streets by the risen water levels.

Everyone agrees to just ignore it when they see some mermaids lure, snatch, and devour a few seagulls, then bark out something like "radical!" in their guttural seal voices and then exchange high-fives.

>but they're a lot more chill and social than Merrow.
that's a pretty big change compared to them in the Books
given that Merrows are sapient and willing to communicate with metahumanity (in exchange for food and matrix access) while mermaids:
>When targeting terrestrial swimmers such as metahumans,
>mermaids will generally drown their victims by grabbing them in
>their forelimbs and holding the prey underwater. As a mermaid
>can hold its breath for over an hour and multiple mermaids may
>work together against such prey, this hunting tactic is extremely ef-
>fective. There have been confirmed reports of mermaids boarding
>small ships at sea and dragging crewmembers overboard to feed.
>When large mermaid packs have been observed, weather updates
>now include reports indicating regions to avoid.

You mean as they are now?
>Sea lion attacks on humans are rare, but when humans come within approximately 2.5 meters, it can be very unsafe.[19] In a highly unusual attack in 2007 in Western Australia, a sea lion leapt from the >water and seriously mauled a 13-year-old girl surfing behind a speedboat. The sea lion appeared to be preparing for a second attack when the girl was rescued. An Australian marine biologist suggested >that the sea lion may have viewed the girl "like a rag doll toy" to be played with.[20][21][22] In San Francisco, where an increasingly large population of California sea lions crowds docks along San >Francisco Bay, incidents have been reported in recent years of swimmers being bitten on the legs by large, aggressive males, possibly as territorial acts.[23][24] In April 2015, a sea lion attacked a >62-year-old man who was boating with his wife in San Diego. The attack left the man with a punctured bone.[25]. In May 2017, a sea lion dragged a small girl by her dress into the water while she was >sitting on a pier side around the time tourists in British Columbia were illegally feeding the sea lions.[26] She was luckily promptly pulled out of the water with minor injuries and was getting antibiotic >prophylactic treatment for seal finger infection from the superficial bite injury.[27][28]

Remember anon, Sea lions ARE predators. If you look remotely like food they won't hesitate to just kill and eat you.

Good pun, chummer.
I recall something about Merrow tribes raiding ships and stealing armor and weapons. And if it's not canon, I'm certainly having it happen if just so I can have a fish-person gargle the line "Look at me. I'm the captain now."

And I honestly had no clue that sea lions were so tenacious. I'd heard about a few surfer attacks because they looked like prey from below, and I heard about the recent blubbery douche pulling that little girl off of a pier. Honestly, I've been imagining mermaids as more ape-like in their behavior toward people, with intelligent curiosity winning out over their desire to eat them on land.

I'm liking the image of them all being violent douchebag sea thugs who hop fishing boats, drown and possibly eat the sailors, then have a feast on the deck.

Sebastian "Bastion" Hollows (38, Orc)
Stands as tall as most trolls and could definitely knock one over. Originally an under the table mechanic and general SINless muscle, he fell in with Morrigan by chance when some crazy shit went down all over Seattle. Used to keep a strict no-kill rule, but that seems to be fading. Feeling much older now than when they first met, he's got skeletal reinforcement and a heart implant to keep his body together. Generally grumpy and serious, but has a soft spot for his better half. Keeps a close eye out for her, very protective. Has experience in VIP security roles, industrial fab, street life. Knows how to get creative with industrial tools. Into Combat Biking, Kung Fu, Body Building, and Motorcycles. Hates disrespectful goddamn children, seeing young orcs get caught up in gang shit, weak novacoke.
-Outstanding unarmed ability, esp. takedown and submission
-Exceptional BOD and STR, low CHA
-High Pain Tolerance
-Very good driver, esp. superheavy motorcycles
-Size-Modded Pump Action Shotgun with a variety of trick rounds
-Aluminum Bone Lacing, Synthacardium, Control Rig 1, Reaction Enhancer, Flare Comp + Dampener, Biomonitor

Morrigan Duffy (???, Night One)
An out of control sex explosion. Who even knows where she came from. Does what she likes when she likes, usually out of the back of her armored truck, usually being very loud. Doesn't take much seriously, loves to fuck, fight, and fall down. She has an uncanny familiarity with military ordinance, tactics, and arms. Can be cruel to her foes, not above taking ankles, kneecaps, or eyes, often to Bastion's disagreement. Typically called by her fixer when a problem needs to be solved directly. Into military tech, popular trideo, and clubbing. Hates authority, devil rats, delayed gratification.
-Skilled with most all firearms and explosives
-Decent driver, excellent gunner
-High AGI and REA, low LOG
-Stashes military arms everywhere, usually carries a heavy pistol
-Smartlink, full suite of ear and eye mods

These two own a small junk lot on the edge of a drainage channel, where Bastion does some legitimate work. He never really bought in to the whole mercenary bit, and has been trying to get life back the way it was. Business isn't good, though, and they're at risk of losing their place. Luckily, Morrigan still knows a few people. They work well as a team, operate professionally, and know how to make an entrance in the name of love, money, and novacoke.

First question: Yes, the Echo Unlimited is cheaper, since it's a specialist deck. The idea behind these things is that they're cheaper than regular decks because ASDF is fixed, rather than having the flexibility of swappable stats.

Second question: Most decks and RCCs come in tablet form. The rules do cover custom cyber decks if you want to go for the vintage style, but it's +2 to Availability and +20% to cost to get it customized into a nonstandardized design (p.61 Data Trails, but I'm guessing you knew that if your asking about the Echo Unlimited). Tall human, used to be part of a S&K troubleshooting squad. His whole team was taken out by a powerful Shedim. This left him shook up & wanting out. Decided to take advantage & instead work on the streets. He now works as the squad leader of a group of shadowrunners, using his magic to give him spacial awareness, live decection & telepathic communication. He is a one man watchtower directing & protecting his unit. Good body, & casting stats, terrible charisma

That's the kind of rules lawyering I would expect a GM worth his salt to shut down. The spirit of the rule obviously is meant for any core metatype that has no more than two legs, and thus should mean "all of their legs". If it was done for a centaur, as either a player or GM, I would require the character to put HJs in all four before getting the bonus for what would otherwise be a single pair.

Bonuses from the same source don't stack, as a general rule. RAW would only require two legs be modified (Which kiiiind of works in theory, modifying the hind legs would assist with leaping, but you'd have issues with the unmodified forelegs absorbing the landing impact), but I'd say you need two sets.

Is there any point to the physical barrier spell, or is it still a waste of karma? If you use normal barrier rules it's just "Oh you have a gun? Yeah you shoot right through it into the squishy dipshit on the other side." Or "Goon McBeefshit decides to full auto your barrier and well would you look at that he's not only taken your barrier down but also hit you as well." The only practical use I can see is blocking indirect spells if you have no counterspelling dice, but then you can circumvent that by using indirect spells or just do enough damage to take down the barrier.
>>
>>54743560
That's not feels, it's common fucking sense, if you only try to propel half the centaur body upward, it's not going anywhere. You would need a hydraulic jack in each leg for it to work at all, it's not going to give you extra distance to have two sets.

I'm not gonna say anything, but one time i was playing and we were in a room where a bunch of yokels were gonna do an explosive breach into the room.

The mage set up a physical barrier right in front of the door so when the breach went off, the explosion was directed straight backwards which instantly killed the entire enemy team save for the cybered-up troll who was half-dead anyway.

Another time we had a high-speed chase and the mage set up a quick barrier in the air right beside the car, which ended up instantly decapitating an enemy biker that hit it right after.

Joshua "Makoto" Selman - human, 48
An up-and-coming company man for Renraku in the '50's, Joshua's niche was sensitive stateside work that couldn't have Japanese fingerprints on it. Even so, looking and acting to part for his conservative bosses was part of the job: Makoto learned fluent Japanese, restricted his vices to shochu, read Musashi and Kiyomasa, and dyed his hair black.

A run went south in '60, and Makoto got hung out to dry. He was, after all, just a gaijin. Nabbed by the heat, he did hard time, a stint of almost 15 years. Toilet hooch replaced the expensive shochu.

Prison overcrowding lead to his early release but he emerged into an unrecognizable world. His old contacts were long gone and Renraku refused to remember his name. Still decked out in vintage ware that was SOTA back when the current crop of runners was in diapers, his only real option is to use the skills he has at street-level instead. Wired reflexes, dermal plating, mirrorshade eyes, it's just enough to keep him competing.
>>

Okay, with that argument the second set still would have no additional effect as you aren't using it to drive the motion, but you would still need it to absorb the impact of landing.

So, basically, at this point you agree completely with the stances of the side you are arguing with, with the exception of where, specifically, you think shadowrun is being retarded.
>>
>>54747395
>Or would you say that orks have horns now?
The problem with this argument is that the orks with horns are isolated cases while the centaurs with undoubtedly full horse heads are all the pictures we get. And there's several of them.

They can't say one thing then repetedly show us another. If you bring a dog to show and tell and say it's a monkey, we're all gonna look at it and say "no that's a fucking dog you plonker".
>>
>>54747605
At this point, it's really a discussion between him, who thinks the artists are being stupid, and us, who think that the writers are in on it too due to not ever actually stopping the artists.
Either way we bypassed the key point, which is that horse heads on human body on horse body looks dumb.
>>
>>54747558
chummer, you are arguing that because they are depicted with horse heads that they have horseheads
I'm arguing that trusting the artist over the writer is a DUMB thing to do, and that you should refer to text over art
>>
>>54747659
And that argument you are having is entire perpendicular to the actual discussion at hand, which we seem to have come to terms on. I'm happy with that. More than you usually get on the 4chans.
>>
>>54747659
>I'm arguing that trusting the artist over the writer is a DUMB thing to do
In this case that's fair, but it shouldn't be a dumb thing to do though. Editors should make sure that art and text align to give you a consistent picture. But the Centaur description was copypasted from 3e to 4e and then on to 5e, but no changes were made to the art.

Shitty editors leads to internet discussions.
>>
Honestly, the vaguely humanoid point works good on all the shit that should be vaguely humanoid according depictions but isn't. Nagas, mermaids, centaurs, whatever.
And then you have to adjust everyone's population numbers because the shadowrun writers love their "This guy is so rare there's only like 12 of them in the world" type species.
>>
>>54747693
>And that argument you are having is entire perpendicular to the actual discussion at hand, which we seem to have come to terms on.
In that case I'm sorry, but my sensors seem to be perpendicular to your discussion too.
What exactly are you arguing against/for?
>>
>>54749209
Given the conversation, probably that horse head on man body on horse body looks dumb.
>>
If Nagas are humanoid, they shouldn't have eyebrows. Discuss.
>>
>>54749638
If they have skin, they should have hair. Hair and scales are all keratin.

If they're just covered in scales, then yeah no hair.

So, I've got some questions for everyone, regarding some of the old-school-style weapons, like the S-K LeMat revolver, and the lever-actions.

Starting with the obvious question, has anyone here used them, and if so, thoughts?

Second, the lever-actions, specifically the rule that they use cased ammo only. I've been mulling this over, and I have an argument as to why this is a stupid restriction, and is another example of CGL knowing dick-all about guns.

My argument is, way back when, tube-fed repeaters were stuck with round-nosed ammo because putting Spitzer bullets tip-to-primer in an enclosed tube is fucking stupid and asking for accidental discharges. However, caseless ammo doesn't have a primer in SR, the fuel encasing the bullet is set off with an electric spark, or some other equivalent. Stacking caseless ammo tip-to-bottom in a tube magazine is completely safe, and the restriction seems to exist solely to give GMs a way to gimp an already potentially-underpowered weapon by nailing players with the "left casings at the scene" card. Hence, I'd recommend that at best, the restriction is ignored, and at worst, paying for an electric firing modification as normal should allow lever-action rifles the ability to fire caseless ammo. Thoughts?
>>
>>54750153
Yes, I'm aware this is the last game I should be sperging out over gun design in, but fuck it, I expect some basic knowledge of how guns work from my RPGs.

>>
>>54750808
Not really. PR is a thing, as is public perception.
>>
>>54750153
Can't say, haven't used them before. Probably best used as a discount sniper rifle to support the team from a distance.

Second question, since there's no actual difference between cased and uncased in the crunch, it's mostly there for bookkeeping. With a little bit of experience and/or common sense, the GMs will probably ignore the matter entirely.

Do Brazil. The Metropole is probably the coolest city in the entire setting:
http://shadowrun.wikia.com/wiki/Metropole

It's a city of 200,000,000 people. It's a sprawl that contains a large nation worth of folks in one bloated, oversized city. A city so huge that being from certain neighborhoods is as big of a difference as being from different states in the US.

And it's smack-dab right next to Amazonia, for thousands of miles of Awakened hijinks fucking galore.

Hey /srg/, I'm fairly new to Shadowrun tabletop, but I've been playing D&D for quite a while. I'm trying to get the lads in to it, too, but I'm wondering if anybody has any tips for making maps and stuff for SR, mainly combat-type stuff?

Is that necessary? I've generally been more of a player than a DM/GM, so I'm a bit unsure.
>>
>>54754655
Well, since you're not playing in a medieval timeframe, you don't need to make maps.

You can just google floorplans of buildings. Or buy Doorkickers and use the mapmaker in that.

It's really not hard my man.
>set Priority of thing
>here are some points/cash/block of abilities
>spend points/cash

It's 5e's shit editing that's causing problems, try pulling one of the older core books to get an idea of how it works. I recommend 3e, 4e defaults to full point-buy, with priority-gen in a supplement.

If you're having difficulty with this, SR might not be the game for you.
>>
>>54757508
It's not JUST the priority thing, mate. I understand that little chart. It's everything AFTER that that makes me want to deepthroat a 12-gauge.
>>
>>54757508
When it came to starting out, the point buy system if 4e definately was easier. The priority system is like; WHICH ONE OF THESE THINGS DO YOU PRIORITIZE THE MOST but you honestly don't have a clue what should take priority if you try to make a character for yourself when you're new to SR.
>>
>>54757546
>>54757508
I cut off the other half of my post because I'm a mong, but I was going to say that I'll try a look at 3 or whatever and see if that helps.
>>
>>54757546
The point about shit editing still stands. Pull 4e core and Runner's Companion or whatever it's called, see if you can make sense of the chargen methods from those, then see if that's made a difference.
>>
>>54757604
It's important to note that there was a significant mechanical change between 3e and 4e, so be cautious of that.
>>
>>54757604
Dude have a go at creating a character in 4e. If you manage to wrap your head around that, converting it to 5e is pretty easy. As pointed out, mechanics between 4e and 5e are pretty close while 3e is very different.

Would this be a good run for street scum/level?

If so, what are some complications I could throw their way?

I was thinking that their lead on a truck full of meat could be compromised with the driver promising it to a gang of techno barbarians and if they deal with it then he'll give them what they need but I'm not sure. This run would be for new players and would be immediately after food fight btw.

I like the basic setup, but I think a straightforward ambush or chase to loot the truck would be simpler for a newer group.

If you want a during-run complication, you could have some other Barrens types also want the meat once the truck's stopped and opened - hungry devil rats, hungry orphans, hungry gangers, you get the idea.

The plan so far right now is that they'd get a tip (spoonfed) that an 18 wheeler full of meat is passing through the barrens of Boca Raton in X amount of days. This would let them figure out if they just want to ambush it, remove or change the delivery route through hacking, or just trying to convince the driver that he should just give them the keys.

If they do decide to confront him in the barrens they'd face some very token resistance from the driver and maybe 1 or 2 guards who obviously don't want to be there.

Shortly after the technos would show up and they'd be attacked by some guys wielding melee weapons and some shitty broken down guns or a chase through the barrens in a mad max type thing.

I think after that the run would end and they'd get a small neighborhood where the other gangs wouldn't mess with them.

And the standard is both Reaction Enhancers and Wired Reflexes. They stack for up to +6 Reaction.

With biocompatibility, Adapsin, and higher ware grades, they'd ideally have:

>Datajack
>Antenna 3
>Control Rig 3
>Reaction Enhancers 3
>Wired Reflexes 3
>A phenomenal commlink with a Simsense Booster

Oh right, the quality. Sorry, didn't have books handy at the time.
>This quality is not cumulative with any other initiative enhancement, be it technological, chemical, or magical.
No drugs.

I'd argue you can install the Booster straight onto the RCC, with it being " like a comlink, but better in order have fun with drones".
>>
>>54763041
An RCC is not useful for someone who's going to be Jumped In instead of running autosofts. Get the commlink instead. Implant it, if you want.
>>
>>54763132
Unless they are being carried by the bio-drone "Master-Blaster" like, the guy in charge will need a RCC to control the meatpuppet by remote at distance. You can't jump-in through a regular comlink.

Dark elves were a thing in 3th?
Sorry, total newb here Only know Shadowrun from the VGs
>>
>>54763178
Yes, you can. An RCC has absolutely no bearing on Jumping In. Only the Control Rig does. An RCC is only useful to a Jump-In Rigger for noise reduction, if that. RCC are for remote-command riggers.

Is there any way to increase your limit on positive qualities? I want to make an unaugmented character with Lucky, Lightning Reflexes, Revels in Murder, and Daredevil, but that's not normally possible at chargen.
>>
>>54763893
it's an elf metavariant. you can find them in Runners Companion (4e) or Run Faster (5e)

>>54764082
if you can, get some of those qualities in play.
if not, then too bad for you
>>
>>54764172
I could technically get some in play, but they're '10+ entire runs later' levels of expensive with the post-chargen price doubling. It'll take so long to earn the karma that there wouldn't be any point anymore, especially since games don't usually last that long anyway.

I think that 3 antenna and 2 datajacks per bio drone would completely negate noise, as long as they carry some sattelite dish with or close to them.
>>
>>54764536
At that point, you could just include a retrans relay. Some kind of Ruthenium micro-blimp.

Justices aren't voted for, they're appointed by their corporation. Some corps have votes by senior board members on who should be their appointees (and Horizon uses the Consensus to determine theirs), others appoint directly.

Market Panic has a good level of detail on it, because a lot of Justices are turning over as their terms end.

Lucky is a shitty trap Quality anyways, same as all of those that increase your Attribute max by a single Level.

You can get way more usefull stuff for the spent ressources.
>>
>>54765592
If you're making an unaugmented Edge build, maximizing your number of uses of Edge per story is absolutely vital.
>>
>>54765704
chummer, it costs 10 Karma for the quality plus 40 for Edge 8
you are paying 50 Karma for having one more use and 1 more die should you use it to boost your pool.
It's just not worth it
especially should you have to burn some edge, since the cost of bringing it up to 8 again is something you won't pay
>>
somebody make a new thread
>>
>>54765825
It costs 10 for the Quality and then one Special Attribute Point for anyone not stupid enough to do Karmagen. And if you're building the shit out of Edge, +1 use of your Edge per run is incredibly important.

If you were talking about an otherwise-augmented character you'd have a point, but considerations of whether something is or isn't worth it change considerably when it's going to be the character's only 'thing.'
