Varied. Differenct nations, different cultures, different religions, different people. It's not an easy thing to predict, but overall, I'd say badly. Most religions won't like magic being real. Most egomaniacial people don't like not being as 'special'. And most of the 'muggle' world is capitalst/consumerist and so would look to exploit or destroy magic.

Even if it does, it's a spell that (by all accounts) has to be continually cast or is a one and done. It's not like you can cast it when you wake up and be safe the entire day. So that means that in the time it takes the wizard (remember, we're talking average wizard not highly trained wizard James Bond or whatever) to 1) recognize that there's an immediate threat, 2) bring up their wand from wherever it's stashed, 3) determine that the Protego is the best course of action, 4)enunciate the spell; all in the time it takes the muggle to bring up his weapon and pull the trigger. That's...unlikely.

Of course, that's even before you get to the fact that the majority of wizards (at least in Bongland) seem to be incompetant. Remember, the MoM bought a fuckton of PRANK ITEMS from the twins specifically because a lot of it's members can't do a shield spell

1. Retrieved the Right Stone Mask
2. Got a vial of normal Kars' blood.
3. Because of some stuff when the retcon hit I had to cut off my left foot with the forcefield of the Warehouse

My Stand is Tribute and because of a retcon, which I'm still dealing with, it doesn't do what it used to any longer.

The odds are not in favor of wizards.

Modern muggles have better communication channels, far more experience in dealing with identifying compromised agents, and better long range options for removing individuals or groups of threats.

If attention is drawn, those muggle repelling charms become nothing more than painting a "this is a target, all inside are hostile and armed insurgents."

From what I recall: Demiurge created the world as it currently is, with all the genie stuff being a stopgap measure to stop the people's dissatisfaction from breaking everything down. You bind it to Your Home (or if you're a traveling adventurer, an inn or tavern in your current place-of-business) and when you need to skip a fuck-long-amount of travel or really need to get the fuck out of dodge, you channel it and it transports you to the bind point.

Works between dimensions (Outland-to-Azeroth and vice versa), planes of existence (Emerald Dream-to-Goldshire as one example), and other shit. Wouldn't let you Hearthstone yourself from New York City to Stormwind until Post-jump, but afterwards is anybody's game.

Considering that it's pretty boring and doesn't do anything you can't do already with other perks, probably not too long. It's impressive for giving all of that in one package, I admit, and since it's a species option and there are perks to convert people to your species that has some utility for empowering others. But it's still got nothing you can't get elsewhere, and I predict that those exact words will be used in attempts to get people to stop talking about it before too long.
