I really am a fan of My Hero Academia for that sort of thing, especially since the super hero schooling system looks really well designed from the point of teaching you all the ins and outs of heroing from stopping bad guys to disaster relief to minimizing collateral damage to handling the press. Not to mention helping you become a respected hero no matter how dangerous or lethal your power may appear.

No. Preparing your spells isn't just memorizing them.

Wizards use the preparation time to cast most of the spell beforehand, only using a trigger (which is the normal casting you see them doing) to finish the spell later.

There is an Alternate Class Feature called the Eidetic Spellcaster (Dragon vol. 357 pg. 89), which grants the ability to memorize and prepare spells without a spellbook. But that works exactly like doing things with a spellbook, except with the "spellbook" being your memory.

Also, there is an Epic Feat that allows you to turn a spell into a 3x per day Spell-like Ability, by sacrificing a much higher spell slot.

To be perfectly honest, while the game is one of my favorites ever, I don't really care for the Jump or the idea of visiting the place. There's nothing in the way of powers I'm too terribly interested in on their own, and we don't know much about the wider world outside the island you adventure around on and the Dark Arisen Island, so I normally just don't go. It holds a lot of fond memories, just not in Jumpchain.

Hey One-Armed Anon, are you still doing those Demon companions mentioned at the end of the OC companions section? And would a Warlock who purchased them possibly be able to summon them instead of using them as full companions (and would they be able to summon other companions who took Demonic, like Eredar)? ...Oh, and same question for a Hunter using the Newborn as animal companion?

Would an Titan-forged with Demonic basically be a humanoid (or whatever you took as race) Infernal?

Can companions from The Party take Order Leadership or Paths of Darkness too?

If you're still looking into the Mixed Discounts stuff, maybe you could include Windriders/Windwarriors? Pandaren Transcendents or Wardancers? Berserkers and Dire Trolls/Orcs? Leywalkers? Holy striders?

And maybe including a Path of Darkness based on the Scourge/Lich King could be really cool?

Also, I must say, I'm having fun making ridiculous companions with the Party option. Like a Murloc Steam Warrior, who upon destruction of his Steam Armor, can jump out and reveal that he's also a Worgen-Murloc Bonecrusher with a transformation into an unholy wolf-murloc, for a two-stage boss fight.

I think Sorcerers do it with like force of will or some shit. Would explain why non-quickened metamagic requires full round actions for them and not for wizards, since the wizard just spends the extra time during preparation.

Is anyone working on an Injustice 2 jump?

Because IIRC the events of the first game take place five years after the Joker nukes Metropolis. Injustice 2 takes place five years after Superman gets brought down.

With the current Injustice jump you might only be around for the very beginning of Injustice 2 at the end of the ten years because the jump starts the day after Metropolis gets destroyed.

Unless you take the "Age of Order" drawback which puts your starting point five years after Joker nukes Metropolis except Batman and Superman are working together.

You're practically a young adult in most jumps. Stuff like forced reincarnation grand hex on Witch in Pathfinder royally screws dragons, since you can reincarnate the ancient or older dragon and make it lose almost all of its sorcerer powers.

VtR Blood Potency would face a similar problem, but not really since that's tied to your age as a vampire instead of physical age.

I'm guessing you'd write it however you prefer, whichever is more fun.

It's not really an issue. The strongest thing Xianxia offers is unlimited growth potential, and you can get that from a bunch of places. It's not actually that fast either compared to a jumper with a lot of training boosters. That said, you can buy into being pretty damn overpowered to begin with if you go for an origin like Mystical Being.

Mystical beings also have a pretty high start point iirc, but choose yours wisely if you go that route. I went as an ice pheonix and my cultivation is maily ice based, cold snap is very useful in some situations and not so useful in others.

Honestly I just mostly use space expansion charms so that my warehouse can hold absurd amounts of things in smaller containers. Hey Ric, I know your finishing up the notes for Log Horzion and I finally got a chance to do some more reading, found something that might clarify things regarding the level difference for people.

Fortune Restricts and Decays into Misfortune, and Fate Restricts and Decays into Destiny. This is the Perfect Lesser Dao of Order and Chaos.

Beyond that is the Flawed Greater Dao of Freedom and Struggle, where Freedom is Self-Generating and Creates Struggle, which in turn is Self-Annihilating and Restrains and Destroys Freedom, Generating Chaos, Order, and Strife as a byproduct. Strife is what the Mythical Being species I made Cultivates, and is the Regulating and Balancing agent for the Lesser Perfect Dao, which both Restrains and Annihilates all interactions and processes.

I posted about this a couple days ago but the fucked up formating and the fact I'm probably the only one here who played this game ment nobody responded, so I'm just gonna claim The Red Solstice and throw out my ideas for it.

It's currently all on the drawing board until I get home from a road trip in a couple days. But the backgrounds are going to be Drop-In, Marine, Insurgent, and Mutant. The only things that are pretty well set is that Drop-In will get a piloting perk and the option to buy a Dropship, they might get a tech related one if it isn't just left undiscounted. Marine will be all about fighting, inspiring, leading, and excelling at small unit tactics aganist large groups of inhuman horrors. They'll also get a specialization perk that'll let them choose one of the game's 8 classes to receive equipment and training in. Insurgent will have an almost full proof cover identity/moniker perk and a hybrid capstone that allows you to adapt and incorporate viral or other harmful mutagenic agents without losing your mind. Mutant is the least fleshed out right now, but a perk that makes you excel at hunting down, seperating, and killing small groups. One to allow you create nests that spawn minature versions of yourself. Along with a capstone to make you a full fledged boss monster with an ancient deity's name fit to inspire terror, are all on the table. I may include an Aetriden capstone booster once I'm happy with how things turn out.

There's going to be a build your own marine squad option that'll take up a single companion slot and I'll include mutally exclusive companion options for both Commander Tyler Hunt and the Insurgent Leader Nyx/Vivian Parks. A tactical A.I. companion like TARA. Still brainstorming items.

Okay, so Sidereals have destiny-manipulation powers based on the constellations of their world. For example, if they wanted to bless someone to have a happy marriage they'd invoke the Peacock, the sign of practical and successful partnerships. In addition to the basic ability to craft blessings and curses, they have two special types of magic associated with Astrology. Resplendent Destinies let them take on an identity corresponding to the constellation, like using the Quiver to turn into a messenger. While in this new identity they gain access to minor but useful magical powers. The main draw is being able to slot themselves into existing social structures, though, a Resplendent Destiny comes with a background. The second magic type is Astrological Charms, which use the themes of the constellation to warp reality. The King Is Dead uses the Rising Smoke's association with peaceful endings and transitions to transform a person into a god (or turn a god into a different sort of god), for example. It's all pretty cool stuff. The point of that perk is to let you make blessings, Resplendent Destinies, and Astrological Charms for the constellations of other worlds, associated with their meanings, and expanding the range of abilities you have.

I'd probably have to go with Forgotten Realms and go full tilt on magic. I wouldn't spend any points getting a special race like dragon or anything though. Maybe pick up something more simple that's free, like Tiefling.

Then I'd grab Expert, Master Craftsman, and Magical Craftsman. Spend the extra 50 CP grabbing the 10,000 gold pieces... And probably snap up an Elder Evil to spice things up.

So that's... 1300 CP left... and I would spend it all on class levels. Archivist, Bard, Beguiler, Binder, Dragon Shaman, Factotum, Healer, Hexblade, Scout, Shadowcaster, Spellthief, Sorcerer, Warmage, and Wizard, 1 Level of each.

For the last thing, he didn't seemed to have any magic abilities once he exited the wand. He might just have wanted to destroy magic so his immortality wouldn't be damaged, but he clearly also lost his old form of regeneration.

Oh well, no, not immediately. I'd focus on Wizard and Sorcerer to hit up Eldritch Theurge as fast as possible. Healer would no doubt get a little work out along the way, but that's basically a Sorcerer who just heals so it's not like it would take a lot of effort to train up. A lot of classes would probably fall to the wayside or be leveled irregularly until the Elder Evil was taken care of.

Hell, half that list was tossed in there basically for fun.

Of course, I wouldn't be tackling whatever it was alone. That's just stupid. I'd gather an Adventuring Party along the way. Make some friends and allies. So when an Elder Evil starts walking the world I can teleport around and gather up a good twenty or so people to go a-stomping.

After that, it would basically be working towards becoming a Jumper-lite with spells like Planar Travel ramped up to Epic Levels and twisted sideways.
