Typhus needs that point increase by like 50 points. It's ridiculous how cheap he is compared to a LoC.

>>
>>54413515
True of a lot of named characters.

IIRC an Exalted Sorcerer on Disc is 5 points cheaper than Ahriman on disc.

Alternatively, you could lower cost of LoC since his weapon is very expensive considering how its not that great. Its similar in power to a power fist yet its more than twice as expensive.
>>
>>54413509
I assume the spell ends when the fight phase ends and doesnt persist into the next fight phase though I can see why it could be a bit ambiguous.

>>54413483
Cerebores are a completely forgotten unit from a 3rd party game, they probably won't be made canon. I'd rather see Malefactors and Dactylis first.

Dominatrixes will need a new trademarkable and family-friendly name.

Most likely we'll get a plastic biovore/pyrovore dual-kit. Maybe a plastic Lictor/Deathleaper with some actually decent rules for once. Best of all would be a new multi-pose Genestealer kit based on the DW:OK sculpt with some new biomorph options.
>>
Guys give me some Thousand Sons coven ideas. I have a bunch of Exalted Sorcerers and I want to paint each one different.
>>
>>54413535
Why are you mentioning Creed? He's very okay for his points. You could take 2 Commanders with Plasma Pistols for his points, which is more flexible. 2 Command Points is nice, but not that great with how easy it is to get them as Guard and he's Cadian specific which ruins a lot of squads that could benefit from someone like Harker.

I just want to take a normal LoC without thinking I'm stupid for not taking Typhus.

>>54413562
That would work too. If a LoC ended up at 150 and Typhus was 200 I think it would be perfect.

>>
My buddy and I have been brainstorming shitty ways to play Tyranids for kicks and have cone up with 2 ideas. We have the models for this, barring I think 4-6 Biovores and the wrecker claws which could easily be made if we were ever seriously considering running these.

Old One Eye's Carnival of Carnifex
2500 pts, 3CP
>Supreme command detachment
Malanthrope x4
>Spearhead detachment
Brood of 3 malanthropes
Old One Eye
5 broods of 3 Stonecrusher Carnifex, all with bioplasma and wrecker claws (3 Carnifex with bio-flails)

Malanthropes hide within the walls of Carnifex, shrouding them and eventually granting refills to the army. General melee fun stuff. Think rhino rush but with a ton more bloodshed.

And

Sporeswarm
2496pts, 4CP
>Outrider detachment
Malanthrope
6 broods of 3 meiotic spores (one brood with 4)
2 exocrines
>Outrider detachment
Malanthrope
6 broods of 3 meiotic spores
2 exocrines
>Spearhead detachment
Malanthrope
6 broods of 3 biovores

Meiotic spores deploy before the first turn 12" away from enemies, so dont count for number of units to place for determining first turn. At 2500, 13 units is not that many so you'll get 1st turn most games. Meiotic spores can move and charge to get in range for blowing up, and exocrines can kill backfield threats. Biovores just rain mortal wounds and roadblocks all game. Another option is to replace the second detachment with mucolids but meiotic work better for 1st turn and assaults.
>>
>>54413565

>>
>>54413821

Spore mines are dollar store fake rubber grapes, air dry clay, hot glue, and some wire to hold them up with. Paint to be fleshy, brush on some 'ardcoat to make it look sticky and mucusy, and stick it to the base.

Mucolids are done the same way but with dollar store plastic golf balls instead of grapes. A smidgeon bigger than an actual mucolids. Might try some dimpled pingpong balls next time.

Ironed out the bit of batrep writefagging from last thread, appreciate any comments, concerns, and tips you've got. Hell, ideas for more stuff to write on (aside from playing more) I'd love.

The soldier awoke caked in drying blood, slowly surveying the hellscacpe around him. As he came to his senses, memory slowly returned, and he began to replay the catastrophic events of the previous evening. His mind flitted back to when they first burst into the open, a horde of armored figures springing out of the ruins before his fireteam. He remembered signaling to open fire, and watching as the soldiers sent a coordinated pulse-volley into the advancing opposition. He recalled his shock as each and every one shots missed its mark, streaks of smoking heat energy narrowly landing exactly where the creatures had just been. As they neared his lines, the strange soldiers unleashed their weapons, firing a mass of micro-projectiles that almost seemed to turn midair to find and tear into the weaknesses of the fire-caste field armor.

He stood in fear as the fire warriors before him prepared to return fire, a hail of fire tore from the ruins as more enemies advanced into the open. The weapons of these soldiers was far cruder than the others, unleashing blue bolts radiating with cancerous energies that left a sickening aura wherever they were fired. Yet more horrifying than the contaminating laser fire was its accuracy, passing within inches of debris and even the heads of enemy forces, but always hitting home against the bodies of his brothers. The casualties were enormous, he feared, and a sustained assault of this caliber would quickly rout the T'au forces.

Yet just as all seemed lost, his commander tore down from the skies, his fusion weapons incinerating two of the unnatural warriors mid-charge. Yet the rest barely took notice, and as they continued to barrel forwards he finally got a good look at them.

P2
The creatures were vaguely humanoid in shape, but unlike warriors of the human empire the beings didn't coat themselves in heavy armor and overworked gothic patterns. Instead, a writhing mass of tendrils and flesh lay confined within minimalist armor, allowing for unhindered speed in combat. He noted a single strange design repeatedly shown on their armor, a small skull etched in baroque design.

He recalled the horror as the monsters crashed into his Commander, the sheer force of numbers pushing him to the ground as their terrifying bladed arms tore him to bits, his battlesuit a bloody pile of smoldering ruins in just seconds. The creatures then turned, redoubling their fire on his position as they burst forward once more in a lethal sprint. As they neared the barricades, his vision began to haze, his ears rung, and a metallic taste on his tongue- by some wicked arcane force, the creatures had clouded the world around him, everything a muddled blur of death and flame.

It was then the creatures finally reached the T'au line. He could remember little of what happened next, for between the sense-killing haze and his personal terror only fragments of the battle could be made out. He saw a long knife gutting his Shas'ui, more strange creatures butchering and crawling over his brothers, and finally a heavy burst pushing on his chest. As he fell to the ground, he made out the vague outline of one of them approaching, and as the creature plunged a searing blade into his ribs, he finally felt darkness.

Bases are done like the rest of my terrain, same paint scheme as the mines. Going for a zerg creep feel.

Spray insulation foam (lightly), wait for it to harden, cover with hot glue. Prime black, then paint deep purple (naggaroth night?) And drybrush up several layers of mixed deep purple, emperor's childen, and screamer pink with liberal washes of druchii violet and corroburgh crimson. Top off with 'ardcoat for a sickly sheen. Tendrils are rolled and formed air dry clay painted black.

P3
As he finished recounting what had happened, he surveyed the desolate scape around him. His brothers slaughtered to a man, blood soaked carnage piled high and left without thought, and all their equipment destroyed or taken. As he attempted to stand he fell back to the earth, wincing at the burning pain in his side. The wound from the creature was deep and painful, a sickening pulse still emanating from the cut. As he slowly shuffled back toward camp- if there was even a camp left, that is- he pondered what fresh hell the empire had encountered.

He couldn't understand it- not on the field. His people, the T'au, were prepared to fight warriors- proud and individual beings that thought, decided, and acted of their own volition. No matter how swift or foolish, the enemy could be broken down into individual pieces- men would flee from terror, stay back in hope of survival, or change the plan as they saw fit. Their emotion- no, their autonomy- was always their downfall.

But out there- whatever was out there- was not autonomous. It did not even process as the swarm creatures were whispered to, changing motion with the tide of battle, but the monsters rather followed a plan as if dictated to them even as the battle raged on. It was similar to the unthinking movement of their drone servants, yet far swifter and more adept, never truly reacting to the T'au forces but rather moving as if everything they did- down to which of their soldiers would fall when- was already determined and accounted for.

It could not be real, this enemy. It bore the flesh of the living, but he knew the truth. They were not men. They were all of them
machines.

What's a good price to ask for the Primaris Marine models from Dark Imperium?

Assuming they are NOS and contain the building instructions.

Also assuming it's a local sale and not an online/ebay thing where shipping has to be considered?

How would a zerg-swarm themed Tyranid army work? Where every model/unit used needs to have a relatively similar starcraft zerg equivalent.

So no Termagaunts (dakka) and only hromagaunts because Zerglings are melee-only.

Only ranged Tyranid Warriors to represent Hydralisks.

Only Melee Carnifexes to represent Ultralisks.

etc.

etc.
>>

>>54415031
Space Sharks is their Low Gothic name and Carachardon is the official High Gothic name. And Great White Sharks are, guess what? White. So what a surprise that Space Sharks are.. White. With shark black eyes.

I LIKE this. It's an awesome link. It makes them more likely to be Raven Guard as well because the latter were recruited from Asia.

After seeing the SM chapter tactics. I am curious if we will see similar things with the other armies. One thing I thought was interesting was that while SM tactics only apply to infantry and dreads. Other books <name> is often on more than just infantry, necrons have it on most of their vehicles.

Makes me wonder if this will influence how other <tactics> will be implemented to their other armies.

Even the other First Founding chapters will have sub-factions - Blood Angels will have Flesh Tearers and other Successor Chapters, Space Wolves will have different Great Companies, Dark Angels will get separate sub-faction rules for Deathwing, Ravenwing, Greenwing, and probably some Successor Chapters, and so on.

oh man where to start.
You need two HQ units, get another techpriest or Cawl
if you have 10 rangers and 3 arquebuses in a squad you're spending a lot on mediocre units that often won't be able to fire.
a power sword is an expensive upgrade for a ws 4+ vanguard who will die first turn in combat anyway
arc weapons aren't what they once were.
destroyers are very expensive. plasma cannon and flamers is a bad combo as they won't be that close to the enemy.
Don't bother with torsion cannons they're a heavy 1 gun on a BS4+ model
Why have an aegis defense line for an army that's almost exclusively close range? don't say to protect the Onagers, antivehicle weapons all have plenty of AP.

Well, skin color and also ethnic facial features. Space Marines just tan in radiation more mutably than other humans, unless they have a mutation like the Raven Guard who end up super pale or have nearly translucent skin. Salamanders just have their radiation organ set to 11 all the time, and probably have black blood and bones as well given the content (like the rooster in pic).

As for facial features, there's enough planets out there that near every IRL and historical culture or ethnicity could see not!Representation in 40k. The Celestial Lions are actually explicitly sub-saharan African inspired and directly stated to have brown skin and Africanized features.

If I have a unit that says "Any X can take Y" does that mean the sargeant can take Y if they want as well? Or is the Sergeant limited only to the things they can normally take. For instance, if I take a Sternguard squad can I put a heavy flamer on the Sergeant per the two vets can replace their boltgun with a heavy flamer?

I expect to fight tyranids, space marines, custodes, imperial guard, and tau. 1 battallion and 1 vanguard detachment at 2k. Stormraven has chaplain terminators apothecary and dreadnought, razorback has the 6 marine squad, chimera has the commander command squad special weapon squad and astropath.

Even if humans are the same, did it occur to you that maybe Catachan has a dim sun and remains at Jungle-temperatures due to an increased greenhouse effect? Water is the most effective greenhouse gas, if the whole planet is a jungle there would be a fuck ton of cloud cover (because jungle requires rain, and rain requires cloud depth/coverage) and so therefore minimal incoming solar radiation would exist, which means people's skin would have to evolve white. Furthermore, the jungle canopy could be all-pervasive further increasing the need for white skin.

I'm asking as I'm trying to throw together a small 500 pt Eldar army, and I'm wondering if a few shadow spectres will be sufficient, or if I should use brightlances instead. heres the list.

113 - Farseer w/ Witchblade - Doom/Guide
97 - 10 Guardians w/ Shuricannon Platform
143 - Wave Serpent w/ 3 Shuricannon
142 - 6 Shadow Spectres w/ Exarch.
-----
495 - Total

The alternative I am looking at is to drop the shadow spectres for more Guardians, and put Brightlances on both weapon platforms, and the wave serpent.

Vect makes Commorragh great again by channeling happiness and joy a la monsters Inc rather than by making people play age of sigmar nonstop.
The necrons become allies of the tau, who help the imperium return to the golden age of technology but with the guidance of the emperor.
Horus comes back somehow as the champion of light and seals the eye of terror into Slaneesh's vagina, so good luck finding the thing.

Your army-wide special rule is not your sub-faction bonuses.

Space Marines army-wide special rule is ATSKNF, their Chapter Tactics are the sub-faction bonuses.

Grey Knights will get a selection of various different Brotherhood bonuses or something.

Lascannon HW squad in an imperial bunker for 172 pts total . Is this a good idea ?

>>
>>54416600
T5 and T6 makes the difference too.
going from 4+ to wound to 5+ is multiplying by 2/3.
so if your going from 4+ save to a 3+ save.
So at T6 3+ they are the same. T6 4+ or more favors the multi.

Going from 3+ to 4+ is multplying by 3/4.

Space Wolves have an entire supplement in 7th with special unique rules for half their Great Companies. Grey Knights will get something similar for Brotherhoods and Deathwatch for Watch Fortresses.

What makes you think that the GK, who are a single chapter, will get special snowflake rules for each single brotherhood ? Even the Ultramarines don't get that amount of attention.
More importantly, there are no subfactions in the GK. Different chapters are subfactions. Different Ork Klanz are subfactions. Different Eldar Craftworlds are subfactions.
The companies within the same army are not subfactions. What's next, you want every single unit within a brotherhood to get its own special snowflake rules as well ? Bloated cancerous rules like that is why 7th edition was such a hot flaming piece of steaming shit.
>>
>>54416756
tyranid warriors

>>
>>54416705
Its Space Marines, they probably dont sit and the techmarine simply stands on one side as he's connected to the vehicle so there's no need for a driver's seat. The guy thats sitting in the cupola could be operating the whole thing.

The Inquisition probably use specialized drivers that are augmented enough to handle the data or splits the duties between a driver and 3 gunners all connected to the respective systems of the vehicle.

>>
>>54416774
>What makes you think that the GK, who are a single chapter, will get special snowflake rules for each single brotherhood ?
Because they have their own Codex and GW has explicitly stated every Codex will have sub-faction rules you can choose from.

Necrons will have Dynasties, AdMech will have Forge Worlds, Eldar will have Craftworlds, Tyranids will have Hive Fleets, and so on.

Space Wolves will have Great Companies and they're just one Chapter.

Grey Knights and Deathwatch will also get something similar.
>>
>>54416756
Dark Eldar vehicles
>>
>>54416756
Raiders. Some other light vehicles.
And T5 matters.
and I can name several T5 5+ saves, or T5 with invulns.

DE coven lists are better for multi lasers in many cases.
>>
What subfaction tactics will the DAngels codex get? Will we be seeing tactics for the successor chapters or will it be more along the lines of tactics for the individual chapters with the obligatory Deathwing and Ravenwing?
>>
>>54416824
Tell that to GW. They've already confirmed every Codex comes with sub-faction options, and also confirmed that a Codex Grey Knights is coming.
>>
>>54416774
Because GK have always been special snowflakes?

Just think about it. They got rules that made them a competitive and and then get -for free- a million rules to hose daemons.

GK are the most snowflakey of snowflake chapters, I'd expect nothing less.
>>
>>
>>54416798

I think the best thing is just to imagine that the land raider is bigger and that it has a second level where the crew sit while the ground level is all a passenger compartment.
>>
>>54416878
So multilasers are worse against a lot of targets, equal to heavy bolters against most other targets, and better against a small number of niche targets. They're 25% more expensive than heavy bolters. Glad my chimera turrets were magnetized.
>>
>>54416889
If anything they'll get bonuses against different daemon types or a revamped Daemonic Adversaries and that's it.

>>54416892
And were still garbage in 7th because they got outmatched by Daemons insane formations.
>>
>>54416886
I'm expecting Deathwing, Ravenwing, and maybe the return of Dreadwing and the others instead of just blobbing the unofficial "Greenwing" together.

They'll probably have one or two successor Chapters too since Blood Angels is basically guaranteed to have Flesh Tearers as a sub-faction option.
>>

>>
>>54416955
I don't even play marines you dumb fucking wanker, lol.

They don't all have the keywords in the indexes because it's not necessary yet.

The fact is that sub-faction rules are now a major selling point of the Codexes, so every Codex is going to have them. Blood Angels and Grey Knights are separate from the main Marine Codex? Then they'll get their own unique sub-factions. It's that fucking simple.

All Codexes now add Stratagems, Warlord Traits, Relics, Tactical Objectives, and Sub-factions. That's what they're for.
>>

I honestly think that's a terrible idea lorewise and fluffwise.
>>

>>
>>54416979
And the heavy bolters have an AP so that cancels out.

T3 5+ armor, multilaser does an unsaved wound 55% of the time, heavy bolter does a wound 55% of the time. Against 6+ save, there's barely any difference, the multilaser wounds like 68% of the time vs 66% of the time.

For 4+ armor, the multilaser wounds 42% of the time, heavy bolter 44% of the time. 3+ save is even more in favor of the heavy bolter.

>>

Venerable dreadnoughts can ignore two wounds per turn, Terminators and multi-wound models can get access to Narthecium and their tactic bonus. IH are a bit more resilient than other marines and you should really wait for the codex instead of bitching with half the information.

I dont feel shat on because the entire gimmick of Templars is assault and rerolling the charge distance is great because I fucking hate random charge distance.

Would I really be barred from playing in a tournament if I had a chaos lord in terminator armor with weapon that looks like a manreaper and a destroyer hive, and a bunch of melee meatshield guys that look khorney and said "this is typhus, these are poxwalkers"? So long as I'm following the rules, why the fuck can't I make my models look the way I want so long as they still WYSIWYG in regards to weapons, armor and model size?
>>
>>54414747
Assuming they're able to win on the ground they eventually spawn new hive ships.

True defensive situations with Tyranids are unusual, because once they win on the ground they render the planet uninhabitable through deadly airborne spores along with the fact that they eventually suck off the entire atmosphere and all the water, so once the ground war is lost there's little reason to actually try and take the planet back most of the time.

The classic tyranids as defenders scenario is an invasion of a hive ship to destroy it before it reaches a destination. This was the mission objective of Advanced Space Crusade and Tyranid attack, which saw space marines fighting Tyranid warriors, genestealers and carnifexes in close quarters inside a hive ship (which is probably the worst possible job you can be given in the imperium).

>>
>>54417678
the problem with proxying out of left field is no one knows what you have, even if you explain it a few times. on the other hand people are generally supportive of conversions and other hobby things.

picture related. it's a bretonnian army someone took to a tournament a few years back. it won due to 2 reasons, first is no one knows what the fuck it is and the other reason is a huge block of grail knights will smash a few units.
>>
>>54417769

You live here too, and if you're not salty you are one. How's that net neutrality doing for ya?

>baal
Blame sanguinius. Space Marines are known to take on their primarch's appearance.
>tallarn
Is basically Lawrence of Arabia. So no to that too.

Cultural marxists truly are hilarious

Those people aren't all coming from the same planet, let alone the same place in the same planet. They should probably look pretty varied, not just like 80s sci fi action stars from a single film.

>i live in the US
How about no thank you.

Is basically Lawrence of Arabia. So no to that too.

Did you just try to claim everyone in Arabia was white? I get that the film had a lot of brownface makeup but wow that's a bad line of reasoning.

Then go back to picketing refugees while working 12 hour weeks and begging for your handout

Technically speaking the word "aryan" is derived from the root word of Iran. But to answer your question, no, that's not what I was referring to.

Then obviously the planets they hail from share a similar phenotypic expression. It's not hard to believe that if you took a dude from Iceland and a dude from Lithuania and shunted them into the middle of Angola that they wouldn't look different from how they started out and would still seem similar to one another superficially.

Buddy, I don't live in a Muslim country either. You can throw everything you have at the wall to see what sticks but really I'll just keep mocking you.
>>
>>54418400
Except the natives of Baal are pretty fucking white too and I don't think they're doing it to impress a guy who has been dead for 10 thousand years. Do you have brain damage? What am I even asking, of course you do you fucking red neck.
>>
>>54418489
This guy's posting from the moon (but probably just the one wifi hotspot in Arkansas)
>>

Because they don't bathe under the sun regularly like shitskins. For fuck's sake they live in the 41st millenium and their planet is a radioactive wasteland. They have no reason to go outside at all.
>MUH REDNECKS REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Why is it that marxists are always the first to go for some sort of highly specific racial insult? If you're gonna try throwing darts at a wall at least try to throw it at the wall rather than away from it and hoping that it somehow magically flies the other way.

>>54418487
Ahh, ok, so the entirety of the imperial guard get their dudes from those two planets.

Cool, glad we sorted that out.
>>
>>54418530
To be fair, the Imperium does ride some select planets quite hard for tithes. Cadia and Krieg are prime examples of that.
>>
>>54418529
I get that as a fat nerd you wouldn't really understand how the sun works, but Europeans aren't white because their ancestors spent all their time in caves.

Why am I even arguing with you, go to bed so you can wake up bright and early to pump someone's gas.
>>
>>54418561
>when you run out of arguments so you resort to throwing more darts away from the wall and hoping they stick
>>
>>54418549
>yfw you rode Cadia so hard she split in two

I know I shouldn't have laughed at something so dumb, but this made me giggle.
>>
>>54418579
Because I won like seven posts back and you're just screaming about shit skins and half baked theories about the sun.

You don't deserve my or anyone else's consideration, you're a worthless child.
