Closer to the tree we have plenty of flat lands. Good for raising cattle and creating buildings.

Diplomat : Damien. I do have the world tree. And I do like pies.
Bodyguard: Solstice. Cute, and can immobilize enemies, and can hopefully teach me ice magic.
Spymaster: Owl girl. A good combination with the height of my terrain. With their god eyesight, they can easily spot things from atop the pillars , the world tree, or from the mountaintops without being seen.
War-Master: Alain and Marie. Alain should be disciplined and have good understanding of how to command an army, as oppose to the legend which seems like he'd just go out there himself.
Specialist: Gracelyn . Can definitely teach me magic. I think.

Waifu: Tough choice between Cethra and the catgirls. I guess for this build I'll take Cethra because she does know magic. I hope I can learn her undead magic and all. Plus she looks so bullyable.

All in all, a war nation built upon magic instead of normal weapons. Perfect terrain for scouting. Becoming a battlemage. Plenty of tourists bringing intel and technology and magic. Also, pies.

I will rule a cold and gentle world. Winter is 70% of the year, getting up to 20° in the hottest months but quickly falling back to an average -10° with winter getting down to -30°. During these times the lakes and canals freeze and skating becomes the primary form of transportation. Days are also shorter, being normal during summer but non-existent during the winter. While there are heavy clouds most of the time clear days are celebrated as spontaneous holidays where people take time off work and enjoy the sun and star laden sky.
There is a constant magical presence in the city, with spirits milling around everywhere. They are heavily impacted by nature so are calm and docile in the winter but in the couple months of warmth they liven up like the citizens. Strangers find the charm of the city hard to get used to, often seeing it as depressing but the citizens find comfort in the calm silence and relish the odd celebration. But there is a fair deal of strangeness in the city, mostly coming in the form of the heavy fog that covers the whole city every few weeks, but also in the twisting backstreets and secret passages of the city. These elements also offer some defense as they turn against invading or hostile forces.

I didn’t think many points in happiness and dutiful were necessary since art needs a bit of chaos and tragedy as inspiration, mostly I just wanted to avoid disasters like depressions and famines that could stop creativity altogether.

The skeleton horde and legion will make up the bulk of my forces, skeletons work great as a stubborn basic infantry which can hold down the enemy while the legion can do strafing runs or flank around. Support can come from the mages and the odd angel/demon in a more important battle. The mages also offer a lot of utility since they can do so many different kinds of magic, and being flexible is important in war. The royal guard will mostly be for bodyguards for my family or VIPs or personal missions but also improve everyone else which is nice. Also that armour. The angels and demons also sound fun in addition to very powerful, hopefully I can get them to reconcile their differences.

The last two are fairly simple, they’re just badass things that will help a lot in the event that I do have to fight. Another qt on my counsel who can advise me on magic and direct my imperial mages (if you catch my drift). She seems to be the most powerful magical character so this seemed like a natural fit for her.

A good mix of varying skillsets and cool people with these 4. Alain would probably end up as a kind of commander but I doubt they’ll be needed most of the time and I think I’d like spending time with all of them. Also it’s always nice having a loli around for (platonic) cuddling.

Honestly this was the easiest choice in the whole cyoa. For one, two loving wives, who are both distinct and can attend to different emotional needs. They also have good skillsets for taking care of the day to day business of the kingdom allowing me to focus on big picture reforms and projects. I feel like Fiyu will like the calm and skating on the canals while Nali will like the summer festivals, unique experiences with each wife. They are also good at working together so I probably won’t have to worry about fights very much and things will run smoothly.

Been wanting to make a comfy dark CYOA similar to (but without copying from) Urban Unease that takes place in the wilderness. I'm struggling to decide which of these themes to go with:
1. You end up moving into a cabin in the wilderness because of some unknown reason like in Urban Unease.
2. You are starting your new job as a park ranger at a national park. Companions will include permanent residents and existing staff, among other things.
3. You are stranded in the wilderness. Emphasis on survival.

A few random ideas I've cobbled together:

Companions:
Soldier Ghost
Showing him anything not from his time period (e.g. phones, cars) causes him to become confused and have a panic attack and disappear when he realizes he's not alive. Afterwards, he'll forget everything you showed him and act normal. To compensate, he has some positive upside.

Locations:
Shattered Seraph Statue
A dilapidated statue of a kneeling seraph clasping a sword in her hand. She gazes upward, her eyes affixed to an unknown point in the sky. You feel embraced by a warm peace when you stand near her, and the warmth is so intoxicating that you loathe leaving her side. The more time you spend with her, the more you realize she is slowly awakening. Cracks become smooth stone, an arm with dainty fingers emerge where there was once no limb, and her eyes shift ever so slightly.

Arboreal Neural Network
Forest with trees that look normal but are made of circuitry on the inside. You can plug devices into them via USB port for virtually unlimited computing power and storage.

Hostile Phenomena:
Stairs (shamelessly stolen idea)
Stairs of many different styles leading to nowhere inexplicably appear in the woods. You are strongly advised not to climb them.

Death Card, because what good is immortality if your people die around you?

The Looking-Glass Kingdom with Thick Forests, Thick Fog, Spectral Lands, and Snow Lands blended into a peaceful, magical, snowy woods. I don't know why the area just beyond the capital is always slightly warm while the rest of my kingdom is always slightly cold, but it's a nice friendly place to live and it's really pretty.

All tiers of Happiness, Community, Cooking, Education, and Entertainment, Tiers 1 and 2 of Dutiful. Ongoing theme, but my people, like my lands are notable mostly for their lack of productivity. I can have all the magic and undead labor I want, but if my people aren't cool to be around it would still be miserable to rule them.

400 Imperial Magus and a Dragon give me a surgical force in conflict, but I'm taking them because they can pull their weight just as well in peacetime and that's what I'm optimizing for.

A Baby Eldritch Horror, a Possessed Phone, and an Unbound Train combine with the 10 story talking elk, the dragon, the 7 companions and the spouse I get to give me 13 guaranteed awesome beings to spend time with. So that's nice.

Sculpted Body, Peaceful Aura, Rabbits Foot, and Land Sense are good for the just hammering home the ever-present comfy here. Earth, Water, and Wind Magus Training are pretty important for making sure I actually can keep this glorified vacation home of a realm functioning. Also it works well with my having a bunch of wizards.

As for my Court: Damien seems like a good Diplomat and I do love baking; Ophelia, Solstice, and T'laek aren't the best Bodyguards, but I have 3 of them, and I'm going to be spending a lot of time with them, so I selected for adorableness; Owl Girl's ability to speak with animals is lest impressive when all the animals in my kingdom speak the common language but she should still be a pretty good Spymaster; Gracelyn is the ideal Warmaster for me given my nations strategic framework of casting magic at problems until they are no longer problems; finally as my Specialist Christoph III will help me raise my Eldritch and Draconic children and probably do some research in his down time cause why not?

Cethra's my Waifu choice because a tutoring specialist is the most useful to me in keeping shit working till my numerous power over time effects are operational and someone who can talk to the dead is close to mandatory for using death card's powers to their fullest. Also she sounds like she'd be an amazing wife once she's less stressed out, which my realm is perfect for.

I miss EDG too, was working on a collaboration with EDG before. The theme of the CYOA was Parasite Suit Magical Girls. It's sad we never finished it (never even came close to finishing it), but god damn EDG is so good at writing lore and world building.
