The best antipaladins are the ones that aren't antipaladins. Or rather, aren't antipaladins anymore. Basically, redemption story fodder. From a mechanical standpoint, unless you're undead (good fucking luck becoming one in a normal game), there's almost no reason to ever be an antipaladin. You're more likely to come across evil that is hostile towards you in a normal pathfinder game than you are to find good that is hostile towards you. Paladins are more likely to get along with the rest of the party because most paladin codes encourage comradery. So I say the best antipaladin is an antipaladin that has undergone a redemption arc.

I personally dislike the class, because the malefex's debuffs tend to be non-damaging, and they are hardly on par with a Vancian caster's hyper-debuffing AoE spells, so a malefex cannot reshape a battle to a strong degree.

Is my assessment incorrect? Is a malefex actually capable of being as useful in and out of combat as, say, an inquisitor or an occultist? I would genuinely like to know. From my gut evaluation, a 5th-level inquisitor or occultist wholly blows away a malefex in terms of overall usefulness, particularly since the malefex is still stuck with least maledictions.

I know that this is an unfair comparison due to it being cross-publisher, but if I wanted to play an at-will debuffer with skill utility, I would play an avowed instead. At least I could dole out worthwhile damage during the process.

Well, the first issue was that she would have to let the Princess be aware of her connection with her Vigilante identity (The Harvestman) because it wouldn't make sense for her to go hunting otherwise. Now, the ideas I had were that she could spin it as a loyal retainer fighting for the honour of her family and she directs 'him' towards certain targets, or that she tells Raina straight up that she's acting as a Vigilante. I'm sure that others could work it better, but the former had the risk of it not really counting towards redeeming her family's name and the latter could've ended up with a premature reveal of her identity.

The second issue I ran into was trying to figure out the point of her social identity. While it would be nice to play political intrigue and such, I wasn't exactly sure about the social-combat balance and it seemed more like she would've been relegated to the sidelines, if she got in. I didn't want to go Exposed from the start, so it would've kept the Vigilante as a side character for a good while.

Greatsword (7) + 2d8 (9) + Enhancement Bonus (1) + CHA Mod (3) + 1.5x STR Mod (6) = 26 average damage.

This is active for 3 rounds, which should be more than enough time to finish combat when you're breaking the average CR2 HP value. Using spellslots to deal damage isn't bad, but the ability is clunky and pushed with all the add-ons associated with it.

In terms of output Spellsmite alone will put this class ahead of all but the most autistic of martials assuming a halfway to competent build. It'll probably beat the common PoW martial in practice too before consideration of 6th level spell casting and whatever other features are associated.

While we're talking about Homebrew, I've kept this thing mostly mum for now, and its still -very- early days for both the class and the subsystem I'm making, but here's been my personal side project over the past week or so, with the cleanest parts displayed

The Harlequin is a class inspired by the guild wars mesmer, both the GW1 and GW2 versions feed into its inspiration.

The Artes subsystem, while obviously taking from tales in its name, its meant to fall into a middle ground between spells and warlock stuff, and path of war maneuvers, and to ultimately enable an idea where full attacks are replaced with using several different moves into combo setups.

The Harlequin wasn't initially going to be a testbed for the Artes system, but mission creep happened, and its been a good challenge, i'm hoping to get it into a 1st level playtestable state in the next week.

So, the party members are Vilsek, Nur, Shujinko, Ezekiel, Dmitri, and (technically) Sigurd the Bison, who is the only member of the party to not die at any point. DIO is there because he was thrown in to add to the final boss fight, but as a Vampire he's hard to kill in an underground/extradimensional room with no access to sunlight. So, instead of "killing" him outright, when he reverted to gaseous form they trapped him inside a gas trap cylinder

It was a fun fight though. They didn't expect the third swerve of the final boss being accompanied by two *other* bosses, then having another boss join in.

I only know about the Fighter, but in short it gives you more skill ranks and gives you "Equipment Training", whch is like Weapon or Armor Training, but is built around mundane items and activitiies,meaning its basically made completely for utility options.

Also, I think he made and upgraded some Advanced Armor and Weapon Training features as well, but I haven't looked at them much.

On the downside the class has less feats though, and its unclear whether the listed archetypes are the only ones allowed for it, or if its only those archetypes that have been altered.
