everything for a comfy life in my pocket dimension. Extra rooms, teleport, sense, whispers, shards and twist flesh will manifest later and I'll need furnish my pocket dimension by myself.

imo, Room is very expensive compared to Extra Rooms; and 5 points is too much for a garden, unless the house has more than nine rooms. Lastly, Powerhouse is completely broken, 10 times would be fine but 100 is simply too much, outshines most of the other powers.

Probably not. I always end up leaving more of the stuff written up out than I want as it is, so I'm hard pressed enough to cut it down more. If I shrink the text, I'll have someone complaining about that, last time I expanded the boxes the borders were too small and that was complained about... Plus it'll be a pain to fix due to how I've layered it.

A slightly modified version of an older build. Still Matchtevsti runaways, still helping the local emir found his new capital. I’ve ditched the flesh-altering spells in an attempt to take on the much harder challenge of getting the people to accept my freaky friends at face value. If elves are too exotic for a human city, chances are they won’t be comfortable with a man made out of worms, a giant kobold skeleton, or a set of living armor either.

Anyway, hopefully the paladin I took for extra points won’t present us with too much trouble, especially when confronted by my living allies. It was also rather easy to take Rampant Undead considering I control no undead. Maybe they will come after I craft some to help guard the emir’s palace. Either way, this build is built for comfort rather than ambition, and it behooves me and my companions to help strengthen our “lair” by making the city safe. I put enchantments into the public works and do general ghostbusting, the blacksmith builds weapons, Melanya trains the emir’s soldiers, Moskheon raises undead discreetly, and Alfred and Seboket act as heavies whenever they are needed. This of course does not mean that we don’t travel across the world in search of adventure from time to time.

Ahh, the Well. The frontier of Dragon Hunting/Study.

Turns out that dragons have bigger things on their mind than me. Being an Unseen-Stalker helps.

Not that I'm particularly amazing at my job, it helps to belong to a Guild Member. Odd that they entrusted me with an Apprentice, but I hope to keep them alive, or teach them a few tricks.

Earth Wyrms are my preferred quarry. Hidden enough to need tricks, but not so sneaky to ambush me.

Port Katar is the perfect place to live, if not for unpredictable prices. There is a nice variety of goods and people to find.

As for my companions... they're a motley crew.

Much to my chagrin, I'm close to "Blackest Night Crystal". Damned if I know her real name. Dragons being cold-blooded, Ms. Crystal can slow and kill wyrms quite effectively.

My other field companion is Sir Archibald Winthrope. He's quite the hedonist, but damned if he's not a good shot. He can often get a clean shot on the beasties. Sometimes hits the eye.

I work with Tanya to process materials, I've got guild contacts to help her out.

I leave the meat to Isabella to work with, though sometimes the wyrmtail goes elsewhere. It's terribly bitter, but drowning the meat in wine makes it work. Sometimes.

I met Lynell after a crazy night at the pub when I almost fell into the docks. It's nice to have a contact with more unusual markets and share stories.

It's a pretty comfortable life as a whole. I'm a little concerned with Crystal trying to make me submit to her and Archie trying to get a cut larger than 1/3, but there it is.

A cyoa that focuses on revisiting Earth post-cyoa. So you're a demon king, elven court mage, retired adventurer, amazon queen's pet, galactic fleet commander, outer god, or whatever; now you get the chance to revisit Earth, spend some time on your homeworld, etc. What do you do?

Another concept. A cyoa in which you are second-in-command or on that level. Instead of being the Vampire King for example, you'd be one of the 4 Dukes. You'd still wield great power, both personal and political, but you're not number one. Maybe you could pick your king, the other dukes, and some counts to be direct vassals.

Don't get yourself down, the design of a cyoa isn't all that important, it's a very nice addition but the lore and the writing inside it is the most important part.

I'm shit at writing cyoas unfortunately, I hate writing at all which is a damn shame. Its really hard for me to get into cyoas that aren't well laid out or visually appealing, they're sorta immersion breaking or just difficult to read which puts me off.

Best advice for paint authors is use desaturated colours, nothing too hard on the eyes. And give the text you keep in boxes some border space so they're not touching the edges.

I just wanted to thank the guy who made these. The atmosphere, the worldbuilding, it's spot on.
It really inspires me to think about the setting and build a story around it. It's spooky, comfy and I want to go on an adventure now.

The idea initially was to take companions that'd be useful to a guild but there's a note saying they have to be the same class as you to be in your guild which is pretty arbitrary.

Instead I dropped the Guild Member thing as there didn't seem a lot of profit being surrounded by other elementalists and took Noble Ties instead.

I figure as a noble with a good mind for business I could maybe eventually start my own guild with blackjack and hookers.

Battle plan is Tass finding the dragon, me blasting it from the sky and then Harriet hitting it on the head as necessary. Would mostly take jobs for fliers as lightning magic is probably more usable in open spaces.

You GTFO and leave them with some useless scraps of code. From there on you can develop into anything, from benevolent overlord over enigmatic observer hiding in the shadows, mad scientist, to SHODAN and Skynet. I had begun work on a pretty detailed research tree, starting at improved intrusion into protected systems, to pretty singularitarian technologies, like achronal computation: being capable of linking systems through time, thinking in the past and future, using computational power from different points in time to maximize your usage, acting on info you gain in the future to influence the past ... stuff like that. But I broke the point allocation, so it's on hiatus, probably forever.

But somebody already did one, and my historic knowledge isn't up to my quality standards, so I dropped it.

Then there's my fuckhuge and autistically detailed society builder, which I lose hope of ever finishing, but … not yet. Suspicion was one of my ideas to limit your CPU usage, but ... if you go Skynet and engage mankind in open warfare, why would you care? Best idea thus far: Low power processors can be bought with money, High power processors are bought with manufacturing ability (and require the proper research) and singularitarian processors have power as a bottleneck. Problem is, the entire process is recursive: Dedicate CPU to manufacturing, get more CPU with that manufacturing, dedicate surplus CPU to developing more efficient processors, repeat until you're God.

TL;DR: I thus far failed to develop a system in which you won't inevitably undergo a technological singularity in the process of making your build, unless you don't want to.

The way you do it is either you have souls or some other metaphysical equivalent OR you have the change happen in the brain. Basically the idea is to run your software concurrently on both your organic brain and a mechanical one at the same time, then slowly shut off parts of organic brain so its running just on the mechanical one. Because you were running on both, you don't lose continuity of consciousness and remain the same individual. Haven't worked on the mechanical effects and went with a 'decentralized reduces computing power' as a placeholder. A centralized AI has more use for a high-powered supercomputer you construct yourself, while distributed ones could use bot-nets and hacked devices to host itself (supercomputers are still very useful to those, of course). I planned to have the distributed option as detrimental to your psyche, but that can be fixed if you research the tech to edit your mind, which meant I need another permanent disadvantage to balance it ...

You know, I can see this as an anime, introducing girls as the series progresses.

Episode one introduces the MC. Sebastian suddenly appears and surprises him with the entire revelation that he's now the zodiac king and a bunch of brides will be showing up soon to fight for his hand in marriage. At this point, he's mainly just interested in getting through the whole thing with no one dying, so he picks upgrades like vitality, to be indestructible, and beauty/domination, so that he can try to talk each of the girls out of fighting. This technically explains the normal qualities of a harem protagonist, namely the ability to take immense punishment and also why a bunch of girls all want his dick.

He then literally heads for the hills, going to an old deserted house in the forest/mountains to try to keep the fighting away from innocent people, and technically picks Vignette so that she shows up a bit early at the old house. The rest of episode one and into episode two could be the MC getting to know Vignette, her powers, and trying to convince her to help him end this whole thing without bloodshed. Vignette could also probably spruce up the house, which in addition to the forest/mountains around it will be the main setting for most of the show.

Talisa could also be introduced early on, giving the cast a more forceful, albeit still friendly, contrast to Vignette, and starting the chain of introducing girls, getting to know them and their powers, and trying to convince them to agree to stop fighting. Vignette’s powers over the forest keeps the house hidden, so the girls are introduced one by one as they are allowed to find it one at a time.

As more girls are added to the harem, you could also occasionally get snippets of some of the heavy-hitters battling it out elsewhere in the woods. Sebastian can also be popping up regularly to check on the war’s progress.

The girls sit in stunned silence for a moment. Sebastian leans over to the MC and asks if this was his plan from day one. The MC confirms that it was. Sebastian politely points out there may be a flaw in his plan.

The silence is broken by Angelica bursting into RIGHTEOUS FIRE and smacking the MC in the face with her hammer. The occasional blasts of thunder and lightning, blades of wind, and jets flying over to bomb the forest can be seen.

Then a brief shot of the court alchemist, crying to himself in bed, hugging a body pillow of the MC. Credits roll. After the credits, a shot of a wedding photo of the MC and the 13 girls, some looking frustrated and pouting, others defeated, and some genuinely happy. The wedding photo is labeled that of King ____ “The Pervert” Zodiac, First of His Name.

Traveling Cook that actually knows a few things about fighting. While I'll leave most of the heavy work to the hunting party I can accompany them in combat with a few combat tricks via my spelldishes, a few grafts I got from Vermillion, and the first aid skills combined with my food can help in a pinch. One of the skills I picked up was the quick preparation of several meats while in combat. While it might not have the full effect/flavor of a dish I took my time with, with my party carving off flesh in combat and a quick cook while it's still fresh is a wonder in battle. With carving sword in hand and a well seasoned skillet strapped to my side, I venture into the deepest parts of the well to hone my craft. I can hear it calling me on bated breath and a single word on the wind, Flavor.
