Thanks to anons posting the epubs. I notices a couple of f ups by GW in formatting in Imperium 1 and Xenos 2. Imp 1 was an easy enough fix (lower case "Keywords" in Faction Keywords on Cap in Gravis), but the Xenos 2 font fix is totally f'd. Don't know if it's corrupted from the source or what. 2 fonts aren't loading, so tons of text is overlapping itself in the stat boxes.

Any anon know how to fix this? It looks like the encrypted fonts are being seen.

I mean, they have different roles now. You could send rough riders into a flank and let them lock down a vehicle for half the game, maybe kill a few heavy weapon squads.

But Death Riders are looking to be around 15 points per model when you include hunting lances. If you send those to tarpit tanks you're just throwing those points away. Deathriders basically require you to throw them at the front line if you want to make your points back.

S5 Ap-1 wounds everything on 5+ or better and chunks most armour saves down to 4+, which is a big deal. With Act of Faith, they can fire twice a turn, which is sort of a big deal for a unit vomiting out that many shots.

Nah. Looks like some goob in the design department messed up. I cracked open the epubs to compare. All the books are the same formatting except for the Xenos 2 book. They are using extra unnecessary code to align text, forcing uppercase instead of just typing uppercase, and they are missing the spacing setting that all the other books have. I don't know why it can't see the fonts, and I can't extract them as inDesign has encrypted them. Theres also some sort of Quicktime file in there that none of the others have, but deleting it does nothing. They likely just did a shit compile job and rushed it out. I would basically have to rebuild the stupid thing from scratch and its not worth it.

I was wrong before, you get 12 shots, not 15, since the sergeant can't take one. You pay 24 points per wound inflicted on a conscript blob in a turn, and can expect to kill 4 of them.

For comparison's sake, a 5 flamer squad of dominions costs less, kills about 8 conscripts a turn, and efficiency wise that's about 12 points per wound.

So dominions with heavy bolters suck at horde killing too.

For orcs and nids, it's a bit more complicated, since they like being in melee, but getting into flamer range for overwatch is usually a good thing.

So my firends and I were trying to work out the new deep striking rules with drop pods, are we reading it right that the drop pods can drop, units can come out, then move and then charge, meaning they get auto combat every time?

Necrons are so fun this edition. Warrior blobs are nothing new, but now they never go away. Ghost arks reinforce that fact. Monolith got its NomNom portal back, Doom Scythes Death Ray is a horrible thing to have fired at you, S10 AP-4 D6 Damage. Have a ton of shooty and be in dire need of as many hits as possible on say a knight or something? Triarch Stalker gives +1 BS for EVERYTHING that shoots at what it shot at, Making 40 warriors in rapid fire range turn into a hellstorm of 2+ ap-1 doom. Triarch Praetorians can shoot and charge, their shoot is 12 inch and tremendously good against Terminators and their equivalents, Wraiths and Scarabs move retardedly far and still have Exile Ray under a new name and can shoot particle caster during shooting phase while in Melee.

This works, however you're usually gimping yourself. Wyches at 9 models lose TWO special weapons, and Kabalites lose their splinter cannon.

That being said, I had moderate success upgrading the wyches to bloodbrides for my Succubus, then I gave them +1 attack drugs. I wound up with 36 attacks rerolling 1s, which was pretty neat.
