Hello /pgg/, I require your help. I want to play a maid.

No, not just whatever and then make them wear a butler/maid outfit. I want to best reflect the actual business of being a maid - avoiding being seen by the lord and lady, being able to assist others and bring out their best, and being able to carry 45 gallons of water up secret staircases so my betters can have a proper bath. This is mostly for a maid-of-all-works type character, but I'm also interested in doing a Lady's maid or Lady's companion, where I'd set aside the hard labor for delicate diplomatic work, knowing the latest news and fashions, and embroidery.

What classes would work for this sort of thing? Consider third party on the table for this.

I specifically remember using statista (which claims 10.7) and a couple other sources, but they apparently need a subscription that I don't have anymore; it sounds like they're using different standards for what counts as sex (perhaps the first only counts vaginal?). Is there a final version of Chimera Soul out there somewhere? All I can find is the playtest version of Lords of the Wild, and that seems a bit old. But I love the idea of a "shapechange just what you need when you need it" type character, and would like something more up-to-date if it's available, but I can't find any info on it. I liked the way my current gm handles rape.
He includes it as a realistic part of a bandit ridden world, but you get to roll for everything. For example, he'll say "the bandit moves on top of you, and starts fumbling with his belt, what do you do?" and he'll say stuff like "in his eagerness, he lets his guard down" and things like that, and you ALWAYS have a way out of it by saying you knee him when he looks down or you smash a brick that was next to you, all the things you see in the movies, and you get to roll for each thing, and even if you fail he just describes getting closer and closer to getting raped, but if you don't want to actually get penetrated, he will walk you through enough attempts at kneeing or smashing stuff on them until you win. This allows for the threat of it, but if people aren't comfortable with it actually happening, they have a way out. But when It's happening, it's scary and you're scared to look at the dice result and all that.

Then in another of my groups I get raped a lot but that's all consensual because my gf's character owns my character as a slave but that's a different case entirely because ooc I consented to that sort of relationship between our characters.

I think it boils down to agency. Rape is inherently a loss of agency, and these games are supposed to be about you making decisions, and if something happens you should get to roll dice at the least, or roleplay your way through it ideally.

one of the best games I've ever taken part in was essentially a Witcher 3 style campaign before the games even came out; a group of mercenaries that specialize in monster hunting traveling the continent in search of jobs.

It was the perfect excuse for my GM at the time to whip out completely new cities and villages for us to visit, and throw whatever dumb character ideas he had that week at us, and the world developed naturally on its own over time. Episodic campaigns are far from bad, and you can have a ton of fun with them; modules are basically exactly like episodes if you run them right.

Only a small fraction of it. The disciplines (you know, the stuff that's most important) don't have any errata yet.

Mostly meh. A couple weird nerfs/buffs- 1.5x Dex to damage with THF, .5x Dex to offhand TWF. Warlord got neutered, if you use the errata it's probably only barely playable.

Half Charisma for Gambits, Tactical Flanker effectively removed (the new version is broken and only really helps if you don't move at all on your turn), a bunch of good gambits got nerfed (Victory doesn't grant any bonuses, only recovered maneuvers, for example).

As far as I can tell the Cha to Gambits nerf was because of high level scaling getting ridiculous, but they accidentally fucked them over super hard at low levels. Would have been way easier to cap the bonuses or dissociate them from Cha.

They don't really have any class features of note anymore. The only thing they really have going for them is fast maneuver recovery through gambits, and that's debatable. Other initiating classes do their job better now and without as much hassle.

Though if you're actually comparing their capabilities to wizards instead of just being snarky, replace that first paragraph with "fuck off", repeated a few dozen times.

They still have a recovery that grants them extremely strong benefits, very reliably, for a very small action cost. They're still full BAB and have an accuracy booster on top of that. Unbreakable gambit still heals them, they still get Cha to Will, they still get a full maneuver progression...

I don't see how "doesn't invalidate every other class, but is still good at its thing (high-accuracy maneuvers with very fast recovery).

If you want WIS to AC you have to hope your GM is doing an SoP/PoW game, and then you have to spend a Stalker Art (extremely valuable to Stalkers, since they get so few of them) on a feat just to keep your AC scaling decently on a class that is usually DEX-focused

I'm still of the opinion that most of the PoW classes are very good T3 classes, that then have basically 6th level casting stapled on for no reason than to sell the product. Warder and Warlord are/were damn good classes before maneuvers, after maneuvers they gained too much.

Getting level 9 maneuvers should be its own class feature, like how a Wizard has basically no class features besides the best spell list in the game. It shouldn't be a base assumption for a class.

I started a campaign once by ambushing the party by attackers who were clearly way out of their league to deal with. Like suicidal to fight back odds. It was intended to be the primary motivator to start the campaign, but half the party fought back anyway and derailed things right away. They died while the rest fled. There was a cat and mouse sort of chase before the party proved too time-consuming to chase down, and then they were on an adventure to get back to civilization with nearly nothing to their names.

The players who lost characters were not too happy about it, though.
