Hey, guys I know it's been a while since the last update on the Hero Academy DLC. Been out of the country and busy with work and school. Anywho here's the latest WIP on the DLC should hopefully have it all written and edited by tomorrow. This will probably be the last DLC before I start working on part 2.

If there's enough interest I might still write the lore and companion compendium I've talked about.

Basically, it would be expanding on the history of the world and the characters (ideally a paragraph or two per dude) much more than I could in the cyoa. Would probably explain the schools a bit more in depth through the form of short stories. I've also heard a lot of people ask about the canon choices of the universe while establishing an official canon is something I've been kind of against I recognize the importance of such a thing in relation to parts 2 and three that will be released later.

It would also let me explain more about stuff like how magic and ki actually work. The tenets of Druidism. Field reports on monsters and the various regions of the world. These would probably be written in a more lecture style

I'm not really sure what people would want to see so I would play it by ear and release it in chunks.

Might even play around with the idea of short story collabs with other anons.

This all sounds good to me, most of the things I wondered about were about the specifics of the various magic schools (summoning and the avatar form one from the DLC in particular)

Ivan the Fearsome had a daughter of renowned beauty named Anastasiiya. Ivan did not like her because he had wanted a son. His coldness and open dislike of her made her very rebellious, and she refused to marry any suitor her father suggested.

The father-daughter conflict came to a head when Ivan found out that his daughter had converted to the old faith. He hit her very hard and had her exiled to the north. By this time he had the sons that he desired and didn't think it was such a big deal.....


Up north, the treacherous Helgi the Seer was happy to take in the disgruntled noble daughter of one of his rivals. He made her Lady of his frontier province of Severia and personally taught her about strategy, logistics and command. Anastasiiya also gained experience defending Severia from Varangian raiders.

But Helgi was not helping out of the kindness of his heart. He had a plan to use Anastasiiya for his own ends. When Ivan's sons began squabbling over their inheritance, Helgi made a big show of embracing Anastasiiya as the daughter he never had and planted the idea in her head of taking the Tunguskian Borderlands from her vile father and incompetent brothers.

She sailed of the north of Lada, but was nearly drowned in a great storm! The Rusalka recognized her for her legendary beauty and regalia and took her, barely living, to the Hall of the Great Dwarf. Upon learning her identity and mission, the Great Dwarf made a pact to help Anastasiiya on her quest in return for helping make the Tunguskian Borderlands an outpost for the mysterious magic of The Other Side.

And that's how Anastasiiya's adventures began!

I am a bit too shy to ask this directly in a settling where everyone already knows each other like the discord, so I figure I may as well ask here.
I am a bit out of ideas for the next expansion beyond what I already have in rough, but I know how much people hate WIPs in the threads. Which would be worse: to continually delay an otherwise-trivial addition to come up with ideas, or to post a WIP while asking the floor for help?

This CYOA is completely broken if the anons know what they're doing.

Use a combination of Special Snowflake and Unnatural Selection/Preserver's Guild and/or Get Equipped/Fighter's Guild to obtain Wonder Guard on a Pokemon with no Weaknesses, and the PC becomes literally invincible. It doesn't matter what you toss at them, they will be completely untouched. You should NEVER give your PCs free reign of what ability they have.

Also, side note, if a Pokemon has two non-hidden abilities, they are a 50/50 shot. Thus, even if they don't get Hidden Potential, a Porygon-Z (for example) will still either be able to choose or be able to be fiat-ed between the abilities Download and Adaptability- Analytic would be the only Porygon-Z ability locked behind Hidden Potential.

Depends on what kind of topic you're broaching with your CYOA. If you're setting the player up for an epic, continent-spanning quest, they'll want a diverse enough cast to choose from so they can cover all the bases. If it's a "relive school again" type of deal you only really need a couple variations on the typical student archetypes for both genders. It's also directly related to how many companions you're allowing them to have, as 30 options can seem pointless if you can only choose 2. I would suggest starting small and working from there if you think you can write more without feeling like you're hurting the quality of what you're trying to convey.

If you attempted to try and convince everyone to battle through some non combat method, like a card game or whatever, what are the chances that Scarlatina wouldn't just drop some knock out gas elixer on everyone, and would the Vitality elixer you can choose to take negate that? Like, clearly you can't get sick but if caffeine could effect you (no idea if it does but I need the example to make my train of thought make sense) wouldn't something non harmful but incapacitating still work?

3. Why the hell is the battle happening in my world, anyway? These people don't live in a kingdom that has this ridiculous rule, they don't deserve to have their beliefs about the world completely shell shocked out of them, and how willing are suitors to ignore the collateral damage they may cause.

4. Would any of them feel offended if I offered to hook them up with a friend of mine? Some that I'm not that interested in I feel my best friend would be a much better match for.

Basically just asking because I've been enjoying imagining how everything could go and I still can't figure out how things would end which keeps me coming back to it more than my usual escapism would cause.

I pick fallen angels as the best waifu type and mortals as the most numerous. (3/15) So the mortals will be my every day enemies, I guess, and the fallen angels will be my boss monsters.

Wolfs Among Sheep for my mission. It seems important, and it lets me fuck some of the most important of my neighbors. I pick the blue points as my payment there. I use those points for the Divine Protection crucifix, with upgrade, which will save me from the predations of most of those enemies. I also take the Holy Prayer drawback, since it's not a huge deal, and use it to gain Witches as an enemy. I think I'll accept Delayed Rescue since I don't plan to lose, and I'll use those points for Angelic Armaments to help ensure I don't lose. If I do lose, it'll almost certainly be against a Fallen Angel, and I'm pretty okay with their lose condition being extended.

Catherine's summoning isn't limited by her location because she's summoning them as spirits instead of actual flesh and blood. She could summon the spirit of a Leviathan in the middle of the Hudson River as easily as she could summon one off the coast of Zodiac itself.

First of all, that would be a potion or tonic. Elixirs in Zodiac are different in that they only work if directly injected into the bloodstream like a vaccine.
Secondly, though Scarlatina's ego would probably keep her at bay to a certain degree, that's the kind of thing that would be considered a rule violation that could get her disqualified if all 13 participants, including herself, had agreed to solve the conflict in that manner.
Also, B-03 would protect you from the knockout gas if you were able to only breathe a little of it, but you'd require the full version you attain from taking the Throne to become fully immune to it. Otherwise, you'd only be passed out for 1/3rd of the time everyone else would if you inhaled enough with B-03.

For means of control, gotta go with telepathy. It's the very crux of the power, so going with the premium option is obvious. (3) Only downside is that you can't make slaves acquire new slaves, as with the worms and items.

Unaware slaves are best slaves. (1/4) The other stuff is needless bells and whistles. It goes well with telepathy since I can alter someone's behavior without any discernible evidence.

Immortality and self-hypnosis are the obvious pair of boons. (3/7)

Mass Control turns me from a small power into a god. (3/10). If I also get Rewrite Memory, then it can work like Normalize without the limitations. Doesn't work through video cameras, but that's okay. (1/11)

Hivemind builds on that theme of pursuing divinity, because I can use everyone I've influenced as extensions of my will. (3/14) It won't take long to get the whole world under my control, though since my slaves are unaware, it won't change things much except when I make the effort to actually pay attention and change them directly.

I'm not taking rewrite personality because it's more fun to do that manually, and I can always reset it with immortality if I screw something up, although I probably won't.

Since there's no real downside to it, I'll sign the pact with Lucy. That gives me a couple more points just to play with. It's a shame there's so many things I'd like to play with left over. I think the things I go with, though, will be Charm and Induce Fetish. The former mostly for soft-hearted reasons, though it could be useful for taking over the world, or other little vanity projects. The latter is because it fixes a hole in Unaware Slave, in that it lets me make then do something of their own volition, regularly and without direction, that they otherwise wouldn't want to.

I pick the elf for my free slave, mostly for rarity value.

The Royal Court decided it would help balance out things to make it a fair fight by allowing you a "home field advantage," so to speak. Considering how familiar of the Brides are with Zodiac, they felt it would be a little unfair to not only drop all this on you with only a month to prepare and accept it. So they decided to try and give you a handicap by holding the War in the area you're most likely to be the most familiar with, i.e. your hometown.
The Court would try their best to repair any damages to the city once the War was over, but in terms of the suitors:

The aquatics can generally surface for a little bit at best, the Eel and Clawfish even less. Even the best suited for the surface (probably the Dragon Turtle) wouldn't be able to stay there long enough to participate in the tournament.

I'm planning on having a bit more to do for aquatics (and non mounts in general) when I do the Elf War DLC; I just wanted to get the Joust done first because its quicker and easier.

Love them as well, but they take a ridiculous amount of work to do well (if you include mechanics). I'm working on one since September, have not yet finished half of what I wanted to do and the mechanics are barely even implemented, beyond notes like 'major increase in internal security/minor decrease in happiness/costs moderate social manipulation' for measures and policies. Lucerne will probably also help, to some degree, but I feel like mixing up these different personalities will lead to a lot of friction and conflict before we almost die and come together as a real team of misfit underdogs. This is why you have Get Equipped/Fighter's Guild.

Say, for example, you roll a Skitty. You use Unnatural Selection to shift yourself into being a Sableye, and grab Special Snowflake. Afterwards, you grab Fighter's Guild and use the Get Equipped from that to make yourself immune to Fairy-Type, and suddenly you have a perfect WonderEye. Combine this with a steady supply of health items to completely counteract your Stealth Rock, Blizzard, Toxic, Sandstorm, ect. since the amount of damage that does all at once is pitiful, and your PC becomes the absolute perfect tank.

And don't even get me started on if you manage to somehow get a mega stone into the mix, meaning Sableye gets Magic Bounce on top of all this and suddenly the only things he needs to worry about is weather effects.

I'm going to bring the light of the Emperor to the undiscovered and lost worlds. The ship is equipped for long warp jumps and should also be able to handle routes other captains avoid due to strengthened Geller Field. What the Sisters and Guard Regiments can't handle on ground, will be pounded to dust by orbital Lance strikes. As a reward for saving the souls of population, I will of course happily take exclusive contracts for both selling their production and helping them setup for producing the tithes required. Since I have no way to replenish troops and equipment in void, I will have to return to civilization every now and then. Hopefully I can make some contracts on liberated worlds to make this as unnecessary as possible.
