If not, in my experience, I just took existing characters/models, and calculated the individual prices of wargear from them. Though sometimes there are inconsistencies, example.

TL Smart Missile System - free
TL Plasma Gun - 5 pts
>Riptide secondary weapons
TL Smart Missile System - free
TL Plasma Gun - free

I've done something similar before.

We just compared them to the 'build-yer-own' HQ is every codex(SM captain or Warboss, for instance) and voted on them as a group.

If you are making your own special rules, you won't get a feel for how much something should really cost until you really have it on the table for a few times.

With multi damage weapons crazy high wounds isn't as good as it seems from 7e's perspective.

An IG lascannon heavy weapon squad is potentially 18 wounds off a single model in one turn.

Plus theres the command points thing which favours more mixed armies by the looks of what we've seen so far.

These are about the same odds as firing 3 hammerheads at 3 leman russes front arcs and getting 3 hits, 3 pens and 3 explodes, back to back.
It's not any more likely than rolling some crazy lucky vehicle damage last edition. Vehicles have only really gotten more reliable, they're not tougher as such as small things can kill them, but there's less randomness even in a damage d6 lascannon now than there was in a random table where 1 result killed the unit and the rest usually did feck all.
Monstrous creatures have been noticeably nerfed though, as they now suffer just as hard from all the anti-vehicle in the game. Finally a railgun shooting a hive tyrant does more than lightly tickle him.
>>
>>53424110

Good ol' imperial, yes.

(You know how I know you've never been to Britain? You don't know we use both systems for different shit with little to no logic as to why one thing is metric and the other imperial. Centimetres, metres and miles for distance for example.)

Duly noted. Thats why I will be using multiple screens of infantry to thwart assaults. Then its just matter of taking a step back and blasting units with rest of your army.

"since the heresy"
They aren't a first founding chapter. Their origins are unknown. They use a lot of different gear but they aren't relic-heavy like the red scorpions. Though their pattern is the "heresy" pattern of power armor, which I think is mk5

Well I did consider a "build your own xv22" except it would just end up being either stupid-tier op with an xv-22 carrying 4 melta/plasma guns and taking on deathstars by themselves or simply taking the xv22 and swapping out the pair of fusion blasters shadowsun currently has for 2 other battlesuit weapons which is too similar to just taking a normal xv8 and sticking it in an xv25 squad.

If you did want to convert him you'd need the following
Shadowsun
1 xv8 burst cannon
1 xv8 fusion blaster/plasma gun
1 xv8 missile pod
1 xv8 flamer

that's it, you'd add 15 points for the burst cannon+fusion blaster and I added on another 25 points for the ability to fire all 4 weapons and to give all split fire

Fahrenheit is specifically designed to be more convenient for average human weather temperatures, so that the difference between snow storm and a nice sunny day isn't 20 degrees but rather 75.

I mean, that's like talking about what currency is the best. "Dollar is the best, because it's designed to be the best, quarters is way more convenient than fifths," etc.

Your average person doesn't intuitively know whether it's 75 or 80 outside unless they got some reference points, just like with Celsius. You could come up with a whole new system and teach a group of people to use it, and they'd be perfectly able to use it and had all the reference points.

Technically speaking, F is a more accurate system. For example, a 40 point drop in C/K is closer to 70 in F, however, it's still a positive number. Approaching 0 in F means it's damn fucking cold weather, and likewise 100 is damn hot, which is its intention. Meanwhile, 0C is barely freezing, and 100c means we're all dead.

0 degrees Fahrenheit: very cold
100 degrees Fahrenheit: very hot

0 degrees Celsius: kind of cold
100 degrees Celsius: dead

0 kelvin: dead
100 kelvin: dead

Fahrenheit just has a much more useable and accurate range. The other two are better for science stuff, but Fahrenheit is better for telling the weather.

I'd say tone those power levels down a bit. What we've seen so far is Swarmlord being 15, a Leviathan Dread being 16 and a unit of Rubric Marines being 8-26. I think 100 to 150 will already give every player a massive budget. 300 per side will probably be a decent-sized Apocalypse game.

>Approaching 0 in F means it's damn fucking cold weather, and likewise 100 is damn hot, which is its intention.
No zero in Farenheit is the temperature of a cooled brine solution and 100 is close to human body temperature (96 in this case).

These two point (the brine solution and human body temperature) were chosen because they're temperatures that could easily be maintained for extended periods of time while taking measurements to calibrate the original Fahrenheit thermometers using only the technology available in the 17th/18th century.

Also zero in Celsius is exactly freezing which is what makes it so great, with negative temperatures there will be snow and ice with positive there will not. It's very intuitive in my opinion.
Neither system is inherently more accurate than the other, Fahrenheit just uses a larger scale.
Also 100 C° is how I like my sauna.

Because daily variations in temperature over an afternoon shouldn't require decimal places to get an accurate picture.

People can tell the difference between 75 and 80, in fact sensitivity can get down to just a few degrees.

Saying 75-78 is a lot more convenient than saying 24.89 to 25.5.

For any other use besides daily temperature, Celsius is clearly superior and it's what I use at my job.

That's why you feel a wave of heat when you throw water onto the rocks, it's a wave of humidity.

That's a simple one. That difference is primarily a result of
A) us wanting to be different
B) how Americans actually say dates. Most Europeans and non-Americans I've met say dates something like the 25th of May. We Americans say it May 25th, putting the month first, so we write our dates the same way.

Being outnumbered doesn't really matter with those new rules. You are multi-wound and geared up and probably have fantastic Ld and Ld buffs and morale only counts how many models died from your own unit and not how many you killed so being outnumbered in meaningless. And that's what I love about the new 40k:
Core rules: free. Core unit rules? Probably also free and the Index books are just a nice, cheap alternatives to printing all that shit out (at least that's how AoS did it).
You want competitive bullshit and serious, Matched Play point lists, however? You damn well better pay a premium for that shit.

>>53425993
you miss out on warboss bonuses if you opt to take weirdboys

if they compete with the same role

So? Just because you're bigger doesn't necessarily mean you're stronger. Custodes are a little shorter, but they look more massive on account of their xbox pauldrons and buttplug hats.

Painboy save is taken in addition to either the KFF invuln or an armor save, whichever is better.
