Say, sorry if this is a bit dumb but would anyone be interested in a short cyoa where you have an affair? If so, what would you want it to be like and what kind of options would you expect/want? Would you want to customize the girl your cheating with and choose the reason for your fling in the first place as well as what type of affair it might be. Customize your wife as well? IK the topics kinda dumb but reverse NTR and cuckquean shit is my jam and I kinda wanna make a cyoa for the subject.

I have this? The only change I noticed is that "shitposting cancer's fan edit" changed the initial description to have you be 12 OR 14 (or around that range) plus some changes in the descriptions of a few of the characters (didn't really examine them in depth).

Stand Name: Paper Airplanes

http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Paper_Transmutation

DP: B (2)
S: B(3)
R: A(5)
D: C(7)
P: C(7)
L: C (8)

It's default form is simply an overly large paper airplane, though it's form is malleable due to its power of paper manipulation, allowing itself to form new bodies. It's total mass however is a consistent 10 kg.

Stand User: Benjamin Harris

Ripped as Fuck: 1
Brojo: 3
Do you even Pose: 4
Plot Armor: 5

Benjamin spent much of his youth as a trouble maker, tormenting anyone who was weaker than him. He felt this was justified as the world had taken his father away from him early. He quickly gained a reputation, and even led a pack of miscreants.
This would have continued had he not learned that one of his favorite targets, a young boy a few years younger than he himself, had contracted leukemia, much like Benjamin's father. Benjamin realized that much like how life had been unfair to him, he had been unfair to others. With what little time the boy had left Benjamin made it his duty to do what he could, though all he could do would be to be there with his former victim.
Seeing this kind of pain changed Benjamin, He made it his duty to right the mistakes that fate dealt to others, with whatever powers he could.

Does anyone have that genie gallery cyoa where one of the wishes grants the user a Stand called [What Does The Fox Say] that controls electricity (I think) and can change its stats in a kind of trade-off set up, like losing personality for becoming long range or becoming short range for more power, that sort of thing?

I went through my folder and out of the dozens of gallery genie cyoas I have saved, that particular one seems to be basically the only one I *didn't* save somehow...

The hero option companionship is some seriously busted stuff if you abuse it correctly.

Take a Cauldron companion and spec them with one of their broken strong abilities and some backup ones then proceed to load them down with vials.

Have two Vigilante companions who take the humble beginnings drawbacks and then give them free upgraded abilities.

Hell, remaking the old Jack of All Trades companion from the last version with this makes him downright scary.

All the first options and throw No-Clip, Mirror Image, Proficiency, and Repair makes someone who can see and travel through matter, able to use any object like a master and either combine them into a better makeshift weapon or upgrade it even if it's already tinkertech, use infinite ammo with said upgraded weapons, have a pocket dimension to hold all his weapons and tinkertech, never run out of stamina, able to resist masters, and make a dozen or so clones who can do everything he can do.

DP: A (-2)

R: D (-1)
D: B (-1)
P: C (-1)
L: A (-2)

The stand's eyes are equipped with variable focus eyeglasses. If a target is in range of the glasses, different lenses will have different effects (one grows, one shrinks). The stand itself can change its size, though getting too large or too small causes strain on the user.

Stand User: Bran "Big" Boppah

Ripped As Fuck: 1
Mentor: 1
Sharp Dresser: 1
Pose: 1
Plot Armor: 4 (if I die, it's for the greater good)

A seemingly gentle giant, Bran Bopper travels from town to town, city to city, selling his wares. He sells exquisitely detailed miniatures, artistic works that reflect a profound, unique skill - surely no other human hand could craft perfect replicas on such a small scale.

In reality, he is following rumors of strange and unexplainable events (people disappearing, reports of bizarre abilities, etc.) looking for other stand users, helping where he can and bringing justice where he must. He carries pictures of a woman he refuses to name.

In his travels, he happens upon the Jojo of the story, following the most disturbing rumor he's heard yet...

Stand Name: 「Same Old Sun」
Power: Eternal Day Inducement
http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Eternal_Day_Inducement

Destructive Power: C
Speed: C (-2)
Range: A (-2)
Durability: A (-2)
Precision: B (-2)
Potential: D

「Same Old Sun」has, essentially, the ability to prevent the sun from moving in the sky. It's a pretty terrible power, all things considered. It doesn't actually affect the flow of time; it just makes it so that the light entering a specific area looks exactly the same as when the Stand activated its power. The Stand itself takes the form of a 10-inch-tall cartoonish humanoid made out of flame.

Stand User: Elliott Stuart

Ripped as Fuck (-1)
Minor Villain (-1)
Sharp Dresser (-1)
Do You Even Pose? (-1)
Plot Armor x2 (-2)

Elliott isn't really a villain, per se - he's just a normal guy who ended up with a strange power he doesn't know what to do with. So, naturally, he uses it to make life more convenient for himself, with not much concern for how it'll affect others. Like delaying the sunset for half an hour so he can walk home in daylight, for example. This will result in predictions for the area he chooses to affect being markedly off from the actual setting time, noticeably so. However, he's also the sort of guy who'd definitely stop after being told that people can actually tell what he's doing. His arc would most likely involve him inconveniencing the main crowd several times in humorous ways, until they find and confront him at which point he admits it was him and says he won't do it again. He'll be willing to use his power on the main characters' behalf, though he has no idea what good he can actually do with the ability to stop the sun.

Stand-users are often, but not always, protected from the effects of their own Stand.
It's possible to have a subconscious Stand, and Stands with varying degrees of control, from "Tell me what to do, Master" to "Oh hey, I wanted to punch that and my Stand did it for me" to "Huh, I wanted that guy to stop being loud but my Stand didn't have to go and smash his cell phone or anything, jeez" to "Holy shit this Stand thing I can summon won't do anything I say"

Immortal, which is good because he’s hated by everyone with power. Of course the fact that people know he’s immortal doesn’t stop them from believing they’ve killed him every single time. Throws on a different generic mask and everyone assumes it’s a different guy - it can’t possibly be the dead guy, after all.

Has some misc Tinker tech he stores in a pocket dimension. He’s competent to maintain it along with anything else he finds.

Keeps all the warlords in line, since he’s especially good at countering capes.

Stand:「We Built This City」
Power: Grid Manipulation

Destructive Power: A
Speed: D
Range: A
Durability: A
Precision: B
Development Potential: B

This stand appears as a glowing tron-ish framework of construction equipment and half-built buildings, like some kind of living blueprint over the targeted area. When active, machinery shudders to life and designs change, shifting and changing whatever grid's been targeted into something more to the liking of the user.

Capable of fucking around with anything stored on a grid, this stand is particularly powerful these days, thanks to the existence of spreadsheets and blocky urban planning. Try not to get crushed by the metropole around you, for the massive tangle of organized society is the place with the most fuel for this thing.

>Ripped As Fuck
>Villain
>Sharp Dresser
>Do You Even Pose

Hank Adams is, or was, a frustrated bureaucrat. Everything in this city, if not the entire country seems to be organized so ineffectively. He's got a keen eye for urban planning, and seethes at the mistakes of his predecessors and his colleagues. He's dumbfounded at their choices, that they couldn't see the inevitable consequences of their actions. Of course zoning that there would raise crime rates among this demographic! Of course building those over there would go way over budget and not really solve the problem! He's angry, bitter, arrogant, and strongly believes all mankind's problems could be solved through some good planning and not giving a damn about any complaints. They'll be thanking, no, praising whoever manages to do it when it's done, so why listen? Course, he was just a mid-ranking bureaucrat, so there's not much he could do.

And then he got a Stand.

Anti-Team Ability: We're All Mad Here. When struck with a Mana Burst used while the Berserker is under the effects of Mad Enhancement, she subjects the target to the negative aspects of the Mad Enhancement while being relieved of it herself. Given that this can be applied to multiple targets, and used in combination of perfected Clairvoyant predictions, this allows her to act with perfect clarity despite the Mad Enhancement's usual parameters and instead empowering herself , siphoning mana from their madness and even warping and twisting their magic circuitry. This might not ruin a mage's potential, but it will likely change it from what it was.

+2 Enhancement Conditions. Anti-World Ability. This Phantasm allows the Berserker to maintain herself indefinitely; thriving off of confusion and strife present in the world around her, reaching out as far as she can envision, though results are more immediate if focused locally. A steady stream of mana wrought from the discord of the world at large will keep this servant stable and prevents her mana reserves from ever dipping despite excessive use of the Mana Burst ability and Phantasm aspects.

One thing that puzzles me about this is that there doesn't seem to be any reason to actually encourage adventurers to attack your dungeon. Power Backup states "Having and unfruitful fountain may persuade adventurers to go somewhere else instead" and since you explicitly gain power from not having your fountain fucked with, 'winning' strategy would seem to be to having as many Backups as you can afford and minimal defenses, so that even endless stream of adventurers running in to take a sip from your fountain actually make no dent to your XP.

However, the wizard, the lore and the design of cyoa kinda make it clear that the dungeons exists for adventurers.

Most of the builds for this were actually based around being as fuckawful to challenge. Hell, I still remember one guy did exactly what you described, and was a slime boss sitting around a lake of goo, and the rest of the dungeon was as many power backups as possible. I think this particular CYOA spawned the rapist minotaur. I could be wrong though, I have a pretty bad memory.

the idea here is to become a living stealth fighter jet, use air superiority to destroy enemy with impunity

> creature type
avian, because flight is crucial

> special abilities
multiple limbs, so I can use my arms to wield guns/manipulate electronics while I fly
multiple heads, extra field of view, better resiliency
bio-laser, powerful long range attack, can be used from a high altitude
enhanced senses, important if I'm going to be accurate at long ranges

> missions
budget rangers,
magic girl team,

can assassinate them in their sleep from miles overhead by destroying their homes with laser blasts

> boss perks
enhanced speed, brings speed up to extremely high, giving additional air superiority
enhanced regeneration, when combined with multiple heads gives extreme resiliency
true fade, stealth provides ability to escape, or attack with impunity
>>
>>53265130
I remember another dungeon designer where you were a goblin and in that, you gained years of life every time someone died in your dungeon, so there was reason to encourage people to come in. The rapist minotaur wouldn't work in this kinda system because nobody would want to enter his dungeon. Slime too except they are always written to be immortal by default.

A kinda simple fix to this would be that adventurers entering your dungeon give you XP and adventurers KOed give you more XP. The ratio of XP gained on wiping to XP lost on party winning should be so that even if you lose, as long as you are over 50% victory rate or so, XP flow remains net positive.

That way you are encouraged to make the dungeon tempting to visit but still challenging.

Also, Power Backup should either be removed or follow the same rules as Fountain, in that it must be accessible.

Very nice. Overall I'm probably more impressed by the amazing aesthetic upgrade compared to prior versions than mechanical upgrades, but overall probably a large improvement. t. powergamer

On to criticism: I'm not that bothered by most balance issues or abuses but I thought I'd comment on stuff anyway:

It seems strange that Thinker gives you more power (+3 shard, desc), while Warrior gives 'social' (character) points (Warrior's disadvantage should be that it makes you more conflict driven, but also more able to grow and get more power Thinker shouldn't be more powerful). I do like the fluff for Abaddon, fitting of an outsider, though I kind of wish it was less the 'special snowflake best of everything' option (albeit at a fair cost) and have more costs associated with mysterious third entity.

Cauldron Vials are way, way too good. As it stands, the optimal route half the time (if Cauldron) is to take a cauldron vial, refuse to take any powers, and drink it, because getting x amount of bonus second trigger powers with a base of 20 points and instead spending all your shard points on perks and whatnot (though I understand the intent of the text is to disallow this)

Humble Beginnings seems way too good for what it does. Most people are just going to handwave it away really, especially because it's drawback is very temporary, in a sense, rather than being permanent, much like worst day ever. Nobody is just going to assume 'oh, I guess I die on that day' or "Oh, I guess I die before triggering', which makes them far more attractive than permanent/lengthy disadvantages (nosebleed, emotions, slaughterhouse, etc) you can't just, in a sense, handwave (or take the 'second chance' gift to justify taking). The drawbacks that are permanent seem like the best ones in terms of weighing up choices than extremely temporary things.

Basically I shrink down and zip about at high speed, clamping on to a hard to reach spot before my enemies notice and shocking the hell out of them, or alternately shrinking them down to 1cm (or smaller or for longer, if thats how the Foreign shard works? Longer would be good) if that'll take them out more effectively (so vs most melee builds). With stealth and hacking on top of my shrinking and flight I should be a good infiltrator and spy as well.

On powers: Jump's second trigger cost is a meme, immunity is a meme, pocket room is a meme... basically, it feels like there was a design shift part way through, where while initially second trigger powers seem balanced for the same price as their original, later on they swap to being balanced for a flat three (plus four character points) cost.

Personal Forcefield is garbage. I'm aware it blocks everything right up to golden light beams. It's still garbage. I feel like Flight could be the second trigger for Jump, since Flight's second trigger is also a meme choice.

Stark Winter is an odd example in that it's kind of 'eh' without second trigger but quite solid (on-sight instagib) w/ second trigger, and a lot of powers that are higher level somewhat overvalue second trigger (same with how the low level ones massively undervalue it). Omnicombustion seems worthless without the second trigger, too. Do You Even Lift, while amusing, would be rather weak even if it was just pure strength, and is complete garbage without it, the trigger being even worse. Temporal Bubble is odd: your time stop only lasts for ten minutes, but what stops you from just using it again? Nothing? Needing to be nearby? Rocky seems weak. Maybe I'm wrong. Machine Spirit seems overpriced, compare it to Augmentation (Trigger) or Technopathy for similar. It does have it's advantages, but still. (It's also cool). Offscreen travel seems far worse than blink, both with and without the second trigger (pictures? live camera feed? both give a longer range, you can explicitly bring people with you, can telefrag versus losing the drawback... not mattering if witnessed? Blink is so much better it feels like a huge mistake and they should be swapped in position). Respawns second trigger benefit seems odd, something like choosing location or something might be better. X-ray vision is another meme second trigger, immediately followed by one that is actually worth the cost (profiency - omnicompetence).

>>53265660
That's a fair point, though not for the reasons I intended. Keep in mind every single build might not be a combat monster intended to be able to turn the S9 into a speedbump (though amusingly, it's mostly blindspot depending on reading / abbaddon that would make it possible, without that you're in trouble thanks to Jack).

Anyway, continuing with powers: Ammo is a meme (I don't see 3 points being worth homing bullets, but I'm probably wrong), Radar second trigger is extremely specific but also guarantees being best in a sense which is kind of cool, and Augmentation is also very solid... but a lot of the other tinker options are ???. Small arms and Armoured Warfare both seem to just be arbitrarily nerfed to try and justify a second trigger, as both are... mediocre without it (they're also boring, very - most tinkers would have small arms, etc anyway). Being ahead 'a few decades' is kind of... well, the difference between an AK47 and an AK74? I feel like given standard tinkers shown in the setting, both second triggers should just be incorporated in to the base (and AFV changed to not just be 'more modern Abrams with efficient electric battery and air conditioning). AFV with Second Trigger seems flat out worse than Robotics, for instance. Fortification seems... bad and boring. Ace Combat option when? Incorporate Homing System as an upgrade to Bullet Hell or maybe vice versa. The current system with drawback of 'you start attacking the person' if you don't have the second trigger is bizarre. Just have nanomachines second trigger let you break the president in two with your bare hands. Power sight, if I'm understanding this right, is an actual one point power that doesn't feel like a meme with second trigger and if anything is undercosted for it (cough jack slash cough). Survivalism is just as garbage as it was last time. Mist Shift... Shadow Stalker sucks. Sorry. Cool though.

Hey guys, anon that was starting a Beastrider CYOA here; I could use some advice.

I've gotten a start on the writing, but I'm worried it getting a little too lore heavy; I'm looking at about 300 words per mount and thats not even getting into explaining the setting. At the moment I've got five mounts, five gear sets, five companions and five quests either written or roughly outlined.

My question is two fold: Would you prefer a more detailed CYOA (in terms of lore and "in game reasoning", aka why the dragon isn't automatically the best choice even though it stomps everything in combat) with less choices to make, or more choices and a more generic, open ended setting?

The second question is, when it comes to describing the mounts (and stuff in general I
guess) would you prefer
>a) longer text explaining things in detail
>b) A brief blurb followed by stats (ie Spd 5, Stt 2 etc)
>c) A brief blurb followed by pros/cons (+Fast, +Loyal, -Fragile, -Gluttonous)

Thats not even getting into learning photoshop or gimp but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it

>>
>>53265906
>why the dragon isn't automatically the best choice
It's your setting, you can have a chicken and call it a dragon, people will complain but that's how it is.
>more detailed CYOA
>>a) longer text explaining things in detail
This.
>>
>>53265906
Less choices with more detail is definitely better IMO. Look at the clusterfuck that is Stardust CYOA's companion section.

That said, remember why someone's gonna be picking each kinda mount, and play to that. Like someone going full dragon is gonna be drawn by the allure of the Big Dick of the mythical world.

And A) all the way. B) is the worst.

Obviously there will be people who completely disagree with me on every count. Some people prefer choice, and some people prefer stats.
>>
>>53265906
To your first question: I suppose that depends on whether I like your writing.

Also I like c) and hate b). I find stats discouraging and I'm not the only one.
>>
>>53265859
If you want points, pick villain and proceed to have a fucking awful first day.

Villain
Drop-In (3,3)
No Identity (5,3)
Abaddon (2,0)
Rough Start x 3 (11,0)
Case 53 x 2 (11,4)
Worst Day Ever x 3 (20,10)
Humble Beginnings (26,16)
Bird Caged (31,21)

simple shitty start that ends with you in prison with around 35-40 shard tokens to break yourself with. Hell if you really wanted to break yourself you could do all that, but replace Abaddon with Eden (27), another case 53 (29), unruly passenger (34), slaughterhouse 9 (37), endbringer target (42), stack that on gestation (57) and you would have enough oomph to take 2 25 shard abilities AND be able to second trigger them.
>>
>>53265873
CYOA about abusing Unsalted potatoes when?
>>
>>53262182
Cloak is absolute garbage without second trigger. Nobody would really take the power without it, I imagine, due to comparative boosts. Adaption and Unlimited Shard Works second trigger boosts are wew. Some powers just seem like they're complete utter garbage without the second trigger but solid with it, some seem like they're solid on their own (jump) but their second trigger is a joke - typically based on their cost (like at one point, second trigger was just going to be 'buy the power a second time' or something to balance it). Combo seems like a joke for the cost, as does Accelerated Decay.

Now, origins. I really, really, really love what you've done with origins and it's probably my favourite part of the new version, how well they've been fleshed out. All I can really criticise is that Villain seems really centralized to BB, while Hero seems to be national. Like an odd tone switch at some point? I'd recommend swapping villain groups mentioned to be those with a larger 'scope', (Gesellschaft, Elite, etc) but they're not really featured much in worm proper and it's probably fine as it is anyway.

tl;dr my sum criticism of the cyoa amounts to 'odd weighting with second trigger, often being either necessary for a power not to be awful or completely worthless on an otherwise useful power, tinker choices swap between cool and interesting and bizarrely narrow and boring ('guns' 'tanks' 'buildings' 'nanomachines' 'genetics' 'cybernetics and robots' - some of these are obviously good, some of them are obviously terrible.'

Anyway, it's a great cyoa and I'm just autistic as fuck.

A famous superhero called Recovery Girl has murderraped a young boy. Recovery Girl is known for using her superpowers to save the lives of on average 10 000 people a month. She also provides crucial support to several superhero associations, allowing them to take greater risks and save more people.

Recovery Girl has stated that if she is punished in any way for what she did, she will immediately cease helping people.

She can't be forced to help people. There's no such thing as a slavery or mind control power.

It's your call. You make the verdict. Does Recovery Girl need to be punished or not?

>>
>>53266355
No. Spoilers, but Jacks power is 'broadcast'. He can 'broadcast' the edge of a knife, but he's also capable of communicating with other shards.

In practice, this effectively makes him invincible to any other capes because he can communicate with their shards on an instinctive level and know what they're going to do better than they do, and can actually have their shard work against them (subtly). I believe WoG states that this actually includes even Contessa, despite him not being a blindspot.

Taking Abbadon would (presumably) make you immune to this because your shard operates on a fundamentally different level in that instance. Blindspot... depending on how Jack's power works, could help, but it also might do nothing.

In practice, this is what makes Jack able to actually lead the Slaughterhouse 9. His ability to coerce his own comrades, all of which are insane serial killers who otherwise would in all likelihood would be capable of working together reasonably and would murder the shit out of each other.

He doesn't know he can do this, though, all instinctive.

No, probably not, unless the source wasn't from a shard.

Contessa's power, for reference, can be more or less equated to 'wins' and has only one exception that I'm aware of in terms of 'being able to beat everything that isn't a blindspot', and that's Jack.

That said, Jack being an automatic you lose button unless you have Abaddon would be boring, so feel free to do whatever you like if it's creative/interesting/suits you/etc. For reference, he's taken down by a single non-powered mook in power armour (being told to by another character with more plot armour than you can fucking believe that does have a power)... followed by... being hit with a power (!?!?!?). There are workarounds, but just trying to find him and stab him is probably not going to work, unless said immunity would protect you.
>>
>>53266464
The consequences of leaving someone like that above the law are worse in the long run. Raw utilitarianism won't cut it here.

I'm uncomfortably obsessed with your previous version and have been for awhile. I have spent all of my day off of work today making builds for this new version and I regret nothing. Thank you.

I won't go into too many details with my build because I've decided my headcannon for this is that you can trade character points for shard points at a two for one cost as a drop-in... Which I think would be a good addition but I'm not a massive min-maxer so I'm sure others would break it. I can post the 'behind the scenes' math if anybody wants but it's pretty boring.

Anywho, simply put I went with Post Golden morning Drop-in Hero that has Other and companionship. I gave myself three Nemesis' for that sweet 3v3 time. Pretty much everybody has Abaddon because of Post-Golden Morning head cannon.

The build was basically:
7 Surgery (ST)
5 Survivalism
1 Peak Human

Seems like a pretty wormy power to me. Plus it suits me pretty well unfortunately. I always want healy powers because of reasons and this would highlight the 'cost' of that.

First companion is:
10 Replication
3 Fresh Identity (ST)

I like the idea of all the clones being able to keep up different identities and even talking to each other in front of others as 'different people'

Second is:
3 Small Arms (ST)
7 Fortification

Enemies are:
10 Atmosphere Control
3 Flight
1 Immunity

10 Genetics
3 Potion Making (From last version, sue me)

2 Copycat (ST)
5 Perfect Mind (ST)
1 Power Sight

These guys work separately for awhile but are brought together by the copycat mastermind me to wreck my shit. They're all quite powerful and would probably cause me to go full guerilla/run and hide mode to fight them.

Lots of other thoughts but I'm probably running out of space, I never really post so I don't know. I mostly just really wanted to say that you have given me hours -if not days- of excellent thinking time, which is an activity I really enjoy. So... If you're reading this, thank you.
>>

>but just trying to find him and stab him is probably not going to work,

yeah, from what i understand his power allows him to survive through what seems like luck

although flattening the city he is in would probably deal with him - so most endbringer+ tier powers/builds would still kill him
>>
>>53266563
Spoilers ahead, obviously.

No, it is, because the way his power works means he'll know not to be in the area, or your own super speed will inexplicably fail you because Jack's shard told it to, or you'll inexplicably change your mind and decide to go chase some other villain, or... and so on.

There's an example where a character who is completely undetectable, as said by the author, in a position to stab him. They won't, though, because if they tried either they'd get inexplicably detected by their power failing, or they'd change their minds, or... whatever. They'd be guaranteed to fail, though.

The exact same thing would happen in this instance, I imagine.

Worm is bullshit. I like it, but it's bullshit. There's a reason those 25 point powers are included, and there's a reason the author says they're probably not enough for some people.

No, because his power would explicitly (as put in an example by the author, sigh) mean he wouldn't be in the city that was going to be destroyed.

The exception, of course, is if you don't have a shard. So the moment general normie mcmayhem decides 'right, fuck this' and calls an airstrike on Jack, he dies.

Given his complete lack of other protective abilities, the only reason some PRT mook hasn't just shot this fuckwit in the face yet is about 90mm of plot armour.

The most powerful capes all can't beat this guy, but one random normie off the street with a revolver could.

AND YET—Death waved a hand. AND YET YOU ACT AS IF THERE IS SOME IDEAL ORDER IN THE WORLD, AS IF THERE IS SOME...SOME RIGHTNESS IN THE UNIVERSE BY WHICH IT MAY BE JUDGED.

Anon just because the strong might enforce their morals on the weak doesn't mean actual systems of morality don't exist.

If a new world Fundamentalist order declares evolution false and everyone is forced to accept this, does evolution disappear?

Just hire Normie McMook to shoot him in the face with a sniper rifle. Because, uh, that's more or less what actually happens except apparently the mook the protagonist happens to tell this to is the first mook told in the history of mooks to shoot this guy in the face.

Increased Strength, Increased Defense, Increased Speed, Bio-Lasers

Budget Rangers - Easy to defeat. They're basically cops with better gear and worse teamwork. They'd be pretty funny if they didn't all have laser guns.

Magical Girl Team - Dangit, isn't it supposed to be a school night? I hate fighting these guys. Win and you beat up a buncha kids and get no credit. Lose to a bunch of school girls and your a laughingstock.

Band of Mooks - a crew of surly but dependable mooks to drive and load the truck we use to steal things from rival companies. My job is to distract any so-called 'heroes' who happen to turn up looking for a fight while they do the real work.

Sorry, had to go to sleep and work. I'll look into Charleston and Savannah when I get the chance.

I'm actually not too familiar with our medieval period, but the area around the rhine has lots and lots of very small castles, pretty much all of them open to the public. Something that's really cool is the medieval market in Ebernburg, the city center is from the middle ages and kept in very good shape. This year's market is 15th to 17th of September, and there's anything from medieval music to medieval food and drink and of course clothes and actual blacksmiths crafting weapons and tools for sale. They don't have an english website, though.

Besides that, if you're visiting Europe because of its medieval history, you should see Prague. First university in Europe in 1348, and they still have the oldest active synagogue in Europe. And, of course, the Castle.

On the question of where you should start your tour of Germay, I'm sorry I can't give a good recommendation, I've got to admit I have not been around too much within my own country. But you should not start in Berlin. It's very different from the rest of Germany, and in my opinion a rather dirty city. Trier would be a good point, it has a rich history since the times of the roman empire, several World Heritage Sites and is generally a rather nice city.

Have a great journey!

That's my thought as well. I don't have any grudges, deep seated issues waiting to burst out, or anger about to boil. But once you have your power and get more comfortable with it, your perspective is going to change drastically.

Physical powers, I think, aren't quite as abusable. There is still effort required to kidnap someone or break a neck. It's the telepathic and reality warping powers that would really get tricky. With just a thought, anything is yours. It's so easy. Only a matter of time until you slip

Martial arts often have a whole philosophy of self discipline that comes with the training, just to avoid stuff like this.
We always assume that superpowers go to random assholes who did nothing to desrve it. But what if you had to train to develop them? Would that be different?

It was just another 'Miku beaten for not being platonic idea of waifu', this time for getting steaks cheaper due to butcher flirting with her.

I'm didn't find it really funny because it didn't reference anything that goes in the thread and it's kinda thing that actually happens irl, without other person being turboautist that wants 'perfect' waifu.

I think the idea is 'teehee anon would think his waifu is cheating because of it' when it's more likely an anon would want to go punch the butcher, and probably just settle for asking her to go to a different one instead. People here aren't amazingly adjusted, but I don't see this being one of the situations where anon reacts unreasonably.
>>
>>53267889
Where would the philosophy come from, though? You'd have to hope the first to get powers were moral paragons. Or they emulated the most morally upstanding heroes of our media. It would also be difficult to have an overarching philosophy of self-discipline if the powers are as varied as, say, the X-Men. The philosophy of Beast is certainly not the philosophy of Storm

Not to mention, in our world, being given powers would make you an instant celebrity, a threat to every government, and a possible test subject for every practicioner of the sciences. I feel like you'd need a social media presence so these entities can't just make you disappear, but can you imagine the constant barrage of fucking shit a modern superhero would get from the public? You'd go crazy within a year.

>the environment

The idea that someone could get super powers and attempt to "fix" the environment is actually pretty scary. Unless they had some omni-level intelligence or inherent understanding of complex systems. I wouldn't even trust a nature-gifted individual or someone with a team of scientists at their beck and call.

I can just imagine someone wanting to "clean" a lake and turning the whole goddamn thing into pure, distilled water.
>>
>>53266324
They don't, and I don't know why they would. What I believe to be ethical is not contingent on the amount of power I possess.

"Me with immense powers" could go in two directions, and probably would. There's the "find people in trouble and save them" approach, which would be a lot of fun. I'd be silly about it— I'd be the person who suddenly cures your cancer and then slips into the night before you get more than a fleeting impression of me. Then there's the serious route, which involves doing a lot of research to figure out how best to use your powers. This would be the responsible thing to do.
>>
>>53268275
My plan to fix the environmemt is to take 90% of humanity and push them into space.
>>
>>53268232
Won't dispute that I'd be a tyrannical despot. But I'd be a tyrannical despot trying to improve the world, and that's probably the most dangerous kind. Looking back at the original question ... yeah, my morality wouldn't stay intact.
>>
>>53268241
Standard marxism is "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs." (referring to free access and distribution of goods and services) so in theory it doesn't require everyone to be identical. It just satisfies everyone's basic needs and prevents a particular class from hoarding capital.

>>53268275
Depends on the level and nature of these immense powers. With sufficient precognition or a fine enough control on matter it would be feasible.
Anyway since we're environmentally fucked right now, it wouldn't be a big risk to take and the reward could be great.
>>
>>53266324
I would torture my childhood bullies. It's all I would do. I'd hover around them and cough on their birthday cakes, I'd lick their partner's elbows without permission, I'd flip their cars upside down at night, etc.

>>
>>53268336

>>
>>53268331
How would you gauge someone's needs? How do you decide on what level of non-essential goods/services are needed? Is discussing philosophy on 4chan a need? Does it take away time in which you could be giving society according to your ability?
>>
>>53268041
A hivemind is where multiple consciousnesses form one superconsciousness, like in sens8.
>>
>>53268354
My point was, equality≠identity.

I don't know whether superpowered individuals would mess up the possibility of a broader and more equal distribution of wealth. Maybe? I mean you could argue it goes against the ethos of the enlightenment and original communism to have supernaturally superior people...
I was using the "to each according to his ability" quote to show that Marx recognized vast differences in ability and competency between people, and he still wanted the workers to own the means of production. It's not necessarily contradictory imo.

It's an interesting question.
>>
>>53268354
no? it doesn't say anything about people being unwilling to do so
>>
>>53262182
I really like the upgrade, you certainly put a lot of time and effort into it, kudos. In terms of criticism personal forcefield feels like it needs some redesign, sure it can stop anything once but considering how dangerous those situations would be anyway it hardly helps. Maybe if you buff second trigger?

Also I feel like godslayer should come back, it made lesser powers feel more useful because going for a power set that you like instead of top tier power that is your only real option of dealing with Endbringers or Entities. Even if you make it really expensive I feel it opens opportunities.

>>53268476
"get in the gulag " says the communist
>>
>>53268275
That's actually pretty silly. You'd definitely need that team of scientists, but the scientists are generally pretty interested in cleaning up the environment, so they'd probably be happy to help. There are a lot of environmental problems that are well-understood but hard to clean up— a lot of Superfund sites, for example. So a superpowered hero could go around cleaning up environmental lead, getting PCBs out of riverbeds, etc. Superheroes with other powers could help prevent poaching, stem the illegal pet trade, enforce CITES, help conservation biologists with their research, get plastic out of the ocean...

Of course, none of this would fix the institutions that generate environmental problems in the first place, but that's all politics, and you really don't want to fix it with superpowers. But, like I said, there's still a lot of low-hanging fruit involving stuff that we've already outlawed but can't get rid of.

>>53268331
Well... it's looking like the biggest remaining obstacle to dealing with climate change is in fact the Republican party, because they're bizarrely intransigent on the issue and the US represents a big chunk of global emissions. It's not China and India; they're both more committed to dealing with climate change than the Republicans are.

I guess the idea of using mind-control powers to brainwash Mitch McConnell and James Inhofe into ardent greens is somewhat alluring.

>>53268301

Unwillingness is not the actual reason Marxism doesn't work. The idea that people aren't properly incentivized is a grossly simplified version of the real economic theory.
It would be more accurate to say natural supply and demand mechanisms that move as quick as the money itself are replaced by slow and wasteful bureaucratic institutions. That explains the mismatch of production versus needs at any given time.
Then there's the lagging overall production, which is caused by lack of innovation, which is caused by lack of freedom of entrepeneurship, a purely communist thing, not necessary for all sorts of marxism.
>>
>>53268095
Try Krita. It's less autistic and is closer to Photoshop workflow.
>>
>>53268508
>the best thing you can do for the environment is to support women's rights and family planning in developing nations.

Actually, the best thing you could do for the environment would be to kill yourself in the forest. Just speaking individually. Technically, you'd do the most good by killing high consumption people in various biomes that could utilize the nutrients, but that's impractical and you'd still be consuming resources in pursuit of this goal.

But family planning is also good.
>>
>>53268535
Different anon, 3rd world industry is not the problem. They need to grow as well. The solution is not limiting their industry, but supplying tech and devices that limit the emissions and waste production, since they can't afford it. Once their industry advanced to a better level they should implement these measures themselves. If they don't, THAT's the point where you enforce ragulations.
>>
>>53268623
the issue is that the industry in these countries has little regulation - the reason there is no regulation is because they need incentives for companies and because the natives are poor and primitive

the solution is still regulation, the question is whether to regulate first world countries or 3rd world countries more
>>
>>53268508
>support women's rights

>>
>>53268693
>implying women's rights don't result in the breakdown of the family unit,

get a load of this nutter

there is nothing inherent to womens rights that breaks down the family unit - its just unfortunate that the culture in the west led to it
>>
>>53268675
m8 decisions like that are next to impossible to implement within a single country, forget about trying it multinationally
>>
>>53268535
Well, most population growth is presently occurring in equatorial countries, because people have fewer children. So those countries presently have an age structure with a very broad base— lots of young people. Empirically, family planning and women's rights tend to lead to smaller families, so getting those now makes the difference between the global population stabilizing around nine billion people or stabilizing closer to twelve billion people. In the long run, this is probably more effective than enforcing regulations in third world countries. (And, honestly, it's often hard to make those stick. Protecting the Amazon is just plain hard when Brazil has a gazillion landless poor people.) I admit that I don't have a particular reference comparing these two.

>>53268617
Those would be really ineffective moves overall.

>>53268730
>its just unfortunate that the culture in the west led to it
It's heavily stratified by class and appears to have more to do with poverty than women.
>>
>>53268617
Killing people is fine, but dragging their corpses to the forest isn't. Corpses are pretty much toxic waste, filled with pharmaceuticals to poisonous metals. The nutrients aren't that needed, actually, and too many nutrients are damaging to the environment, especially if they get into a body of water.
>>
>>53268784
I somehow lost half a sentence or so there. You know the drill—poor countries are places where people have a lot of children per household, and that number tends to go down as wealth increases.

1. A break down of the republic and politics being now just mob rule with politicians promising gibs for votes.
2. Forcing women into the work place where they are unhappy and stressed while also ruining the job market by doubling the competition per work place and driving down wages.
3. The sexual revolution, welfare and modifications to divorce laws have led to the creation of sluts, single moms and over all ruining the childhood of every single generation since Gen X onwards.

This cyoa has issues/problems.

1) There are not enough drawbacks for extra points unless you stick with taylor era as that's 2 of the best point giver and villain for the extra points. Golden Era should have the same slaughterouse and endbringer drawbacks as they were both around during those times too, S9 was even worse then, before the taylor era flee and clone part.

2) Missing classic powers like Pancaea and others, yet has other classic powers like Shard Admin and PtV.

3) Paths aren't very balanced. Get extra points and nice perks from Villain and pisspoor stuff from Rogue, Expensive not really able to buy stuff from cauldron (power wise) and hero was kind of meh. Vigliante seemed fine.
