So, Reviewanon is making his rounds, and I'm scared of him rolling my app in case he doesn't like it! How do I cope with the fear?

Just starting to run a game, party are mostly martial with a single cleric. First dungeon is to investigate the ruined foundations of an ancient wizard's tower that used to be much taller until the two wizards who owned the place had a falling out.
I want to cap off the dungeon with a recurring rival character showing up to try and steal the book the party are after, and figure a mage would obviously work well. That said, party are mostly magical, so I'm thinking probably a Hexcrafter Magus. If it were her, a raven familiar carrying a wand, and a couple of raven swarms for thematic bonus and action economy balancing, what would be a good level for her? Party are five level threes on 25PB, mostly uncommon races but nothing really silly.
I'm thinking she eventually escapes using Force Hook Charge to grappling hook up to her own familiar and out of the combat area once she's been battered a bit and the swarms are defeated. Only one of the party can fly and he'll probably hang back if injured.

Also, suggestions for escaped mage experiment encounters would be welcome. Currently got a rust monster, pair of moss trolls, pair of Derro and a Carytid Column as the mid-boss (that DR's gonna hurt the martials, gonna ignore the weapon breaking or drop it to 2d6 otherwise they'll get stomped by one badd damage roll).

I need a piece of RP advice. I made a magus with low Charisma and I'm wondering what god they'd worship. Currently, I'm thinking of Nethys (dual-aspected god of magic would go well with the magus' martial and magical disciplines) or Cayden Cailean (said magus wants to be more adventurous and hopes the god of freedom and frat parties will help him in that respect).

Depends on your access to size changing effects. If you can stack size increases, use a Large bastard sword and suck up the -2 attack penalty in exchange for 2d8 damage which only gets bigger as you pile on the size increases. Also great for Vital Strike builds.

Otherwise, if you're using your Str Mod and power attack to deal damage, greatsword or something similar will be enough.

It all depends on what you want to do and what you lack. That's the beauty of PoW.

In general Panthera on the Hunt is great for unrestricted movement, Primal Wrath is good too. Shoulder Rush is probably the weakest of the bunch.

I'm working on a project, initiation archetypes for basically every Paizo class that isn't a 9th level caster. Problem is, I'm also doing this while learning PoW with no functional experience, which anyone could tell you is fucking stupid but I need it for a homebrew I might run and I don't think anyone else is ever going to do it.

Basically I need to ask /pfg/ some questions about practical use of PoW.

Mostly the usual mistakes people make: characters that don't really have a place where the campaign is set (see Token Tien discussed earlier), poor/tenuous connection to the major plot elements and (as always) generally poorly written characters.

In my group we've given all Initiators atleast warder-tier progression, except Hidden Blade and those that retain caster levels. I feel like that's the best way to go personally. The archetypes for non-iniator martials usually trade out a ton of their features and end up with less valued class features than actual initiators AND 6th level initiating.

Either way the difference between 6th and 9th level initiating isn't that big until you get to the point where normal initiators get 3rd level maneuvers (=level 5) which are a big power boost. At that point they start lagging behind a bit until they completely loose out around level 10.

I hate Knight Disciple exactly because it just rips every iconic feature, so I'd say try to maintain class identity as much as possible.

Don't think that mechanical bloat would be too much of an issue, if you understand it once it's not that much to track.

An easy point of reference is the Martial Training feat chain, which is a good way to estimate the value of adding 6th level initiator progression. Basically, remove 6 bonus feats worth of features from the core class and jam in the archetype initiator progression.

Really though, I think the easiest way of doing it would be to give EVERYONE a generic initiator progression that keys off their BAB. Say, take the 6th level initiator progression, make the recovery method just "spend move action, get maneuver back", and use your BAB as your IL and level on that table.

By all rights, they should be able to, but Vult doesn't seem interested in that. One would hope he's got a plot in mind, but given how long it took them just to stop getting raped every couple of hours, it's looking bleak.

And I wouldn't actually say he is a decent GM. All accounts of session events point to him specifically ensuring the party can't prosper or thrive, what with the near-constant party splitting and focus on rape over actual adventure.
