Reposting this from last thread, with replies, since I'm slow. Also others might have extra ideas this thread?

Anyway, I'm trying to finish my build for Tomb Kings... So I'm asking whether there's any more suggestions for fun materials to import and build a tomb out of? Preferably something that actually gets better in the huge quantities you get with these giant pyramids.

I was personally thinking mostly about Yasal Crystals and Dreamstones?

Anything else that could be fun?

>>53159861
>Mordite
That sounds horrifying. Who needs or wants an entire pyramid of the stuff around?

...Tempting though.

>>53159864
>Khaydarin Crystals
Hm. Could be nice... I've got a ton of magic enhancers, but not many for psionics.

>Lyrium
Seems a bit too gambly, and I'm not sure if it'd do much when turned into a pyramid... Also might cause people to lose Dragon Age magic after a while, looking at the Dwarves.

>Wood from Age of Ice's Yggdrasil or Warcraft's Teldrassil
Would those still be fonts of life energy when the wood's cut off and used in a tomb though? That seems doubtful to me...

>The wax from the apiary from in Fallen London
That sounds... odd. But that's usually so for Fallen London stuff. Why would it make a peaceful resting place?

>transposition into the spirit realm can "elevate" metals
Nah, not in it just to look pretty (though it's a bonus).

>Essence of Pearl
Sounds like it'd be really shiny. But I personally don't really want to use bits of my tomb as components for Artifacts.

>>53159909
>Lerasium
Could be interesting, if it works. Seems like it'd be a bit overkill though, unless you want to do something like make the entire world's population into allomancers?

>>53159913
>Hellbrass
I thought that was just immune to psychic stuff/sorcery? Anyway, durability isn't too interesting, I think? It's already getting boosts to that from A Monument to Time Itself and other stuff anyway.

>>53159925
Eh. Tough and regens, but it doesn't really give the tomb anything new.
>>

Warpstone, after becoming immune to the negative effects in Ogres of course. It would be hilarious to see someone try to invade a pyramid made of solid warpstone.
>>
>>53161087
>>53154636
Now, I know this isn't jumpable for a while yet... But I wanted to comment on a few things anyway.

First off, it's looking good already. Definitely looking forward to seeing it completed.

>Quirk 1 (Gigantification):
>The major limitation of this power is having no middle, either staying at their normal size or transforming into full gigantic size, which is measured around 2062 meters.
>around 2062 meters.
According to the wiki, that should be in centimeters, not meters? Assuming this is supposed to be the same as Mount Lady.

Which seems more reasonable, because 2062 meters would let you treat even godzilla as a toy.

...Would be fucking awesome if it actually lets you get that height in meters though, growing to more than two kilometers, but just saying.

Anyway, would this set your height at that specifically, or would it proportionally increase your size if you were already a giant?

>Quirk 1 (Big Horn):
...Okay, I know the tier 0 quirks aren't too useful. But doesn't Superficial Mutant already allow you to get horns?

>Quirk 3 (Tape)
Shouldn't this be a Generation Quirk? It's even mentioned in the general description of Generation Quirks.

So help me out Jumpers, my companions don't actually want to jump Tomb Kings how do I convince them otherwise? I think I nearly have Shinji convinced it would be excellent father/son time as we grind our enemies beneath our heels. And Rits always likes more magic, but most of the others don't understand the benefits of being undead even if only for ten years. What do?
>>
Hey, am I strong enough to beat up Darkseid? My top power level is that I can make Mjolnir/better than Mjolnir-tier magitech equipment, I have an army of basically unlimited size, and also I can do a bunch of other things really well because I have a bunch of training perks with pretty strong and versatile magic/ki.

True, they have to actually reach the front door before they start exploding in pillars of green fire. They aren't immune, they are ressistant. Even Skaven try to avoid directly handling warpstone and a pyramid would have a lot of it.

I'd need to change my Ogres build for that though, and I'd /just/ managed to complete that one.

>>
>>53161467
If you've tried to convince them and they still say no, respect their decision. Not everyone wants to ever experience being an undead.
>>
>>53161467
Bribes are probably a good idea. Let them make the next few jump choices if you can. Or just let them call in favors in the future, which may come out of your CP or Sanity budget.
>>
>>53161453
>Is the rival from the +100 drawback killeable?
Is says their personality is grating to you, it doesn't say that they want to seriously hurt you. Murder is way too extreme a reaction.
>>
>>53161481
I was more meaning how their entire empire would come after you to claim that much warpstone. You'd blink then realize your floating in the air while a bunch of Skaven are running away with your entire tomb.
>>
>>53161468
>and also I can do a bunch of other things really well because I have a bunch of training perks with pretty strong and versatile magic/ki.
This is so vague it could be anything from 'you are no where near the level where that would make a difference' to 'You're already strong enough that you could challenge Darksied on your own.' What setting's magic/Ki? How much training have you gotten with it? How strong are your training perks?

Ironically, or perhaps not if you know about it, that is exactly what Nagash made his tomb from. The tomb was pretty much invincible despite Setra's best efforts.

I'd love to see the story behind why Jumpers have such giant tombs. Considering Setra had the biggest tomb because the people he ruled over loved, and feared, him and Nagash built his tomb to basically win the Tomb King dick measuring contest. So the idea that there is a tomb that completely outshines him is both hilarious and kind of sad.
>>
>>53161487
I suppose but then theres not much to do in an undead kingdom if they are meatsacks...I suppose I could simply let them go play tourist in the Old World. Jackson would probably love being a witch hunter.

They would all die trying to take it, this is pure warpstone anon. No matter how much they want it they would die horribly trying. Especially when there is a jumper around, and that is if the jumper is merciful enough to kill them instead of letting the warpstone handle it.

>According to the wiki, that should be in centimeters, not meters?
Er, shit, yeah, it should be that way in the Jump too. Thanks kindly for catching that since that's a small but big typo on my end.

>Big Horn
Yeah, Big Horn is from some early concept weirdness where Tier 0s were even less useful. I tried to bring it up to speed with the horns regrowing and skull and spine getting stronger but I might end up replacing it all together.

>Tape
Yeah, more early draft weirdness. I meant it to be where it is since the canon guy has very specific mutations in his arms that are the source of the tape generation, but I'll edit that out of the Generation Description since it's strange to have it using the Tape power as an example in this case.

>>53161453
Quirkless Loser is explicitly just Quirks. That'll get made more clear when I get to writing the drawbacks for real. Other drawbacks like Wrecked Respiratory and Bone Breaking Backlash on the other hand do affect out-of-jump powers. The Rival is impossible to get rid of, so no killing them to get them out of your hair.

IIRC some of the life mana-aspected artifacts/technologies in the game are fluffed as wood carved from the tree? It's been a while, though

>resting place

The honey tends to create dreams sweet enough for the substance to be treated like opium by Londoners. Also I think the FL jump says the wax puts you into a sort of coma.

>Artifacts

Well, technically it's more of a unique cleansing/purifying effect that's used specifically FOR making artifacts by First Age Exalt crafters. Since I was sort of turning into a Neverborn during the jump because of the undeadening bit of that scenario and me being somewhat closer to a Primordial than the average Devil-Tiger, I figured resting in a tomb of that stuff would make for adequate life support.

>>53161437

...I thought he built it as some kind of anti-Chaos superweapon/necromancy supercharger.

That's how I fluffed mine anyway. Prince!Me "merely" wanted something that could save me from the worst effects of undeath but conventional undeath research veers dangerusly close to Nagashlike heresy and all the big businesses are in tomb building anyway. So, I had to disguise my wizard crib as a big tomb.

>...I thought he built it as some kind of anti-Chaos superweapon/necromancy supercharger.

Probably that as well, but don't think for a second that Nagash could not have done the same thing with a smaller pyramid. Nagash is a pretty petty individual so the reason why he would make it so gigantic is to outshine every other tomb built.

The jump does mention you can embalm people in it to get dreaming comas though. Not sure if that's a good thing though.

Well then, let's post a build for this.

Apprentice [Free] Magic.
Race: Un-Usual - Tiny Size, Wings [100] Be a kind of tiny pixie/tiny devil?
Location: Courtyard [Puzzled]
>perks:
Sagacious [100] Puzzling.
Guardian of the Diamond [600] Wow. Just wow. This is damn good.
Workings - Illusions [Free] M'kay. Magic.
Promising Apprentice [Free] Very nice, yes. Apprenticing to people.
Sacred Geometry [200] Sounds very, very nice. Works beautifully with my new Tomb Kings thing too.
Puzzlemaster [300] Pretty cool, yup.
>items:
Map of Quizard Castle [Free] ...Right.
Oubliette [200] Having things and people be forgotten is a terrifying power.
Mirror of Illusions [Free] This thing is amazing. I'll probably keep it on Mirror of Erised mode for other people, for the most part.
>drawbacks:
Imprisoned [+100] Sigh. Here we go again, prisonbreak time.
No Cheating [+200] Well, damn. Guess I'll have to go along with this.
Too Easy…? [+200] Oh my~ A challenge!

Kinda sad I couldn't take the castle itself, but between Guardian of the Diamond, Sacred Geometry, and Puzzlemaster, I just can't get the points anymore.

In any case... I'm going to spend 10 years learning magic, and trying to solve puzzles?

I honestly don't have much of an idea what's going on here though. But I'm sure some hero will manage to solve the problem?

I can't remember much of what they could do. It was basically high physical stats, giant wolf form and functional immortality though iirc? If that's the case, really good for the most part. While people in this series after training can have really good physical stats, being ninjas and stuff, they're not really of the superhuman level without a Quirk boosting things.

After looking into the Captain, if Hellsing Werewolves have that list to go along with things then they'd be really dangerous in-world.
>>

>>53161727
Yeah, far as I can tell Age of Ice's mana node things are kinda like M:tG's, except too much of them in one place doesn't destabilise the plans

Embalming, right. That was the bit I'd forgotten.

>>53161729
Neato.

Drawbacks: Last Hope, Siege (1300)

Kitchen

Quizard's Apprentice, Usual

Workings: Astrology, Charms, Runes (1200)
Promising Apprentice (Free)
Riddler (1100)
Sacred Geometry (900)
Puzzlemaster (600)
Guardian of the Blue Diamond (0)

So I...guess it's +/- 10 years of making puzzles for both player characters AND the Quizard? He's probably trying to solve the puzzle right now of how some of that diamond literally rubbed off on me.

Writing abstract riddle-devas into existence that infiltrate the castle seems unsporting when the riddles can solve YOU faster than you can solve them. On the other hand hey-being solved builds character.

Anyway, for my first riddle: What's blue, sparkly and has no intrinsic value? It's the Blue Diamond counterfeit I fairy godfather'd out of a kumquat while the real thing was quietly portaled back to Ziuq!

So now the kingdom is just sending adventurers to keep up the pretense so the Quizard doesn't think anything's gone wrong. Or has time to steal anything else.

It's high fantasy in the style of, well, Warhammer. Some of the professional battle mages' spells can apparently affect entire armies at a time, daemons walk the earth wherever cults do, some lands are overriden by swarms of horrible things that just won't stop, most of the dominant races hate each other, gods have a tangible presence and at any given moment there's 2-3 factions with a working plan for ending the world. In short, less dangerous than 40K but more dangerous than Azeroth-just barely, but still.

I mean-Settra is essentially slightly less durable than that but commiserately strong (like, armswrestle an Ogre Tyrant and win), and he's considered one of the greatest Tomb Kings around. So if you're a charismatic and competant tactician who's also unreasonably stubborn, you've got a decent chance of making a name for yourself provided you're from the right background.

Some CYOA once had some option that would make it so the people's dead skeletons would live on to help protect the living and stop violence.
Since then, I've liked the idea of making skeleton helpers through magitek and seeing how long it would take for the general populace to get used to them and then eventually embrace them.

I could believe it. But then, my story idea was basically feeding a Jumper through Black Bullet, Hellsing, and Necronica in rapid succession at the start of a Chain, then going from there. With probably really dark versions of Tank girls and Ship girls thrown in there somewhere.

I haven't decided if I want this to be it's own thing or perhaps have them be "enforcers' for the Great Game I've got going on in my Restarted Chain. Both have interesting possibilities.

Why not throw in Fallout, Berserk, and Post Judgement Day Terminator while you're at it?
Just non-stop depression where the settings are just full on depression.

Blame! can come when he's more ready for it.

If you can shrug off human powered melee weapons, musket fire, and cannon balls then you'll basically be impervious to attack from 90%+ of armies in-setting. The biggest things to worry about then are people using poisons, giant monstrous creatures, and potentially any kind of magic user.

I've never seen Berserk, but Fallout and Terminator are both great options. And yeah, that was kind of going to be the point. Finding the worst, most depressing settings and dragging the Jumper plus a bunch of hot, half-crazy women through it all.

And then when they come out the other side of it still in partly working order and fantastic killing machines capable of punching /way/ above their weight class through sheer determination, the Coordinator gets a horrible, awful idea.

After all, you can bet points on Jumpers with the Great Game. So why not simply bet a Jumper is going to die, then quietly send in a group of assassins? After all,
no one is going to suspect a Jumper with a Power Loss drawback in a normal setting being forced to deal with a sniper rifle round to the brain. The odds would be astronomical. Just like the profits.

Either that, or after all the depressing and horrifying settings are done, they get plopped into happier ones and we just watch the explosions. But that seems like it would get boring fast.

Starting age and gender for the origins is not specified.

You also need to give the jumper 1,000 CP (Conundrum Points or Castle Points)

The Location Word Find is a funny gimmick for the setting.

I would make the Chamber of Eyes 10 x 10 Meters instead of feet, because if you do use it as an antechamber (or a examination/diagnosis chamber) that is a bit small to fit some of the fantasy fare minions like ogres, 'giants' or smaller dragons.

That is the only remaining stuff I see.

I mean, sheesh, you need one soul per pound of that stuff. That's a looot of souls trapped in eternal agony, for a pyramid this size.

/jc/, need your opinion on some Pokémon stuff.

It's shown that all living things in the Pokémon world have Aura, just most have less of it than Ash, Lucario or the Aura Guardians.

It's also stated by Sabrina in one of the games, I /think/ Fire Red and Leaf Green, that all humans have psychic potential, and most just don't realize it.

So the question is what exactly the perks for Aura and Psionics give? Is it experience/training, increased potential, both? And how far could someone who hasn't purchased them come with just training and practice in-jump?
>>
>>53163385
>Recruiting Ichigo in the first place

>>53163423
I think it gives you a boost in how strong you can get with it? Aura gives you the potential power of Lucario and Psionics gives you the potential power of Gardevoir, and considering that Gardevoir can create mini black holes with their power, that seems pretty strong.
>>
>>53163321
You know... I rather like that idea. It has some real potential if I could write it well enough. A bunch of half-insane mercenaries trying to teach a murderbot the ethics of war while also doing horrible, horrible things to survive.

>>
>>53163423
Do keep in mind that just because they have Aura, doesn't mean they can use it. There are plenty of Pokemon that can't learn Aura moves, and there are probably a lot more humans who are the same. Also, I don't remember Sabrina stating any such thing. It might just be that it's been a while, but I can't remember that being a thing.

Really though, the whole affair was just the Faceless Coordinator dicking around with the Jumper to boost his point value before the trade to Warmonger. You wouldn't /believe/ how many points "Betraying a loved one" is worth to the Great Game.

True... But Soulsteel is even worse. Starmetal at least is just mined from meteorites that fall when a god dies, Soulsteel is made from tortured souls that suffer for eternity in the metal.

Also, I figured I'd do the math real quick...

Assuming that Soulsteel is as dense as normal steel, and the pyramid's a solid whole... Even the base pyramid would require in excess of 10 billion people. More than the entire current world population.

With just the 200cp, it jumps up to a trillion souls. Ten times more than the estimate on how many humans have EVER LIVED.

Is that the Apocalyptic Trilogy one where you stay till the end?
Since the ending look to be a fight about the outsiders (and possible Hell)
I would say get some abilities that strengthen reality, oppose lovecraftian entities, as well as anti corruption stuff.

My "Make the Outsiders go 'Oh, fuck' combo" has stuff like Being a Literal Star (Thanks Narnia) and speaking burning words that define reality (Thanks Fallen London) and have Conceptual Keys to lock them outside the gates of reality (Keyblades) Celestial Star Magic (several places, Mario, Kubuto & the Two Strings among others)

Perks that make to immune or unreachable to their powers. (Anti Corruption, You are always You, and your Soul does not exist if someone tries to target it would help)

The Demon Lord Perk that let you create Demons with your powers to make demons that are also stars that speak words that define and reinforce reality and are immune to being corrupted.

Puts a kabosh on the Whole 'Empty Night' thing when I can just walk up to the Outer Gates and start installing Stars above them so it does not look all depressing.

Impossible to say, really. There's another 7-9 books planned and at the current rate we're getting a book about once every 4-5 years, so it'll be a while GODDAMMIT BUTCHER, HURRY UP before we know for sure. Best guess is that the Outsiders are going to end up smashing the Outer Gates and getting in somehow, which is a Bad Thing.

So far they've been corrupting Fairy Queens – the most powerful of which are implied to be on par with an archangel who can unmake galaxies with a word –, allowing them to act against their nature and use their powers in unnatural ways, so that would be scary. Butcher's also said the most powerful Dragon will be involved; and capital-D-Dragons aren't so much giant lizards as they are cosmic entities, this specific one apparently being strong enough that a fight between him and two of the most powerful fae (not the ones on par eirh an archangel, but one of them is capable of vaporizing multiple vampiric gods with one attack and the other casually swatted aside and killed the host of a fallen angel and wears the belts of multiple Senior Council (the most powerful wizards in the world) as trophies) would be like Mike Tyson in his prime fighting a 13 year old girl. So unless you're going in as a big dick G, I'd recommend focusing on surviving instead of "beating". At least with raw power. Supporting Harry would probably help a lot.

Or be specifically specked against them. Dresden Files is one as setting that isn't randomly rolled, but one previous jumps are building there; it doesn't get taken until Jumper has some specific powers to help with and in the setting. A goalpost destination jump rather than a random one.

Jumps where you want '100% Completion' that give you intermediate goals to strive for. Dresden is one, Worm is another. And Exalted, especially the Infernals focused one. The 'Lead a Nation' style jumps with long term options are another; they don't get taken until you have demonstrated leadership and uplift abilities from some prior jump, and at least one open ended power that takes some time to master to practice with and hone in your off time.

Mmmm, doesn't really fit I think. In this world, people explicitly did freak the fuck out when this shit started happening. Society literally collapsed with the arrival of Quirks and mutations. The definition of human became blurry. Laws had to be rewritten everywhere. It only became normal in the current era because it's been so long since it happened now and 80% of the population is this way.

Yeah, he has a very specific kind of anti-fate power. Though it doesn't force you to love him, it just destroys your fated bond to your true love so you two can never find each other. Most of the girls he punches don't end up in his harem. It's just that he's free to charm then once those bonds are severed. It's a pretty cruel power.

>I actually kinda like Hijack but they're seriously underselling it here.
I can't really disagree with that. Except to say it looks like they ranked stuff from a pure 'Comic Book Face Punching' combat utility.

Hijack would help with dodging, situational awareness, ambushes, etc. The parallel awareness to make real time sense of all that extra sensory input it gives you is what drew me to it. It is like the Required Secondary Ability of Skitters insect control power in worm. You could do stuff like go to a library and read everything everyone is reading at once.

But from a pure uninspired combat viewpoint, it is rather meh, especially if you take a 1st jump assumption and price it as if it is the only power you have.

From a Tactical/Strategic overall benefit, it is tier 2 or 3 in your system.
>>
>>53164502
Don't judge, anon. Some people are into that type of thing.

>>53164467
I imagine even something as powerful as that has an upper limit of how powerful a magic it can neuter. Try getting a tomb from tombkings, the recent Valeria jump, get the magic upgrades and use the inside as a ritual space to perform the most powerful and difficult to dispell versions you can.
That might work.

Or just kill the little annoyance with a sniper rifle. Either or.

Problem about talking about Imagine Breaker, specifically, is that, unless I've missed something, we don't know too much about how it works or why, beyond that it seems to be an almost reality warping effect which reinforces 'normal reality'.

Huh, from that perspecitive then there might well be some forms of magic that might be just ignored by it, if they are sufficently part of normal reality, by some wierd means. Or maybe change the definition of 'normal reality' that Imagine Breaker works off of.

Just spitballing ideas, here.

If it's an all-purpose anti-dispel you need I strongly recommend Soulfire from Dresden Files. Intuitive to cast; you more or less just focus to activate it. It reinforces spells based on intent, so a spell to force choke someone for example can turn into a big glowey holy hand; allegedly it packs less raw power than Hellfire but in practice it does the same thing, and Harry's clashed against a Hellfire user with it as an equal. And easy to refill; just spend a day enjoying yourself at the fair or shopping or browsing the internet-as long as it makes you happy enough to feel alive, the bit of your soul fuelling it replenishes.

Oh, and it's also the fires of creation. It's not just powered by your soul, but by /everything/ you are. So that's neat.

...come to think of it Spiral Energy could probably do something quite similar, given a lot of the non-drill uses boil down to "forcefield that interferes with the probability of something passing it"

Yeah, that's where my head is at really. Hijack has incredible utility, and it actually would have good combat applications with a smart user since getting good is a major component to Heroes and Villains here.

Like, Eraserhead's Quirk is shutting off Quirks, he's otherwise a normal dude who has trained himself into a bad ass ninja. Imagine someone like him just being aware of what everyone around him is doing at any one time.

I'm pretty sure I'll adapt it for one of the empty slots since I dig it and the Sensory Section is bereft of options at the moment.

>>
>>53165116

Oh, yeah, it's Nighteyes. Was in the WIP posted last time.

--Quirk 2 (Foresight): The holder of this Quirk is able to see the entirety of the target’s future, second by second, for one whole hour. The user sees the future like frames of a film, and can only see the target from a third-person perspective as well as their surroundings.
This has multiple conditions for activation and limitations due to its immense power. The Quirk user must touch their target, then make eye contact with them to activate the Quirk in the first place.
The user of this Quirk can only activate this Quirk one per day, but the futures they see are 100% accurate barring outside of context circumstances.

Libriomancer has this thing:
>Dispellation resistant (200 CP) Resistance to magic is a fact of life most practitioners have to deal with. For you it is...less of an issue. While your magic is not appreciably more powerful it is much more resistant to effects that may dispel, counter or reverse it. energy or concentration to be properly turned aside.

Yeah, I was just reading through it again. I really think they're different enough, based on the same principle but with a different usage. Long term precognition against 1 target vs short term precognition used on themselves. It would make for a neat contrast. And given that you're lacking two Tier 3 Quirks for the Sensory section anyway, why not include it? It's your call in the end though, and it's not like there's a lack of foresight in the chain anyway. But most of that stuff is psionic/magical, so a "biological" option would be nice.

If you're looking for suggestions, for a lower level quirk I like the idea of super synesthesia. Basically, any one sense allows you to perceive the other five as well. Like, see smells and sound, hear color and tastes, that sort of thing. It makes it extremely difficult to cut off your senses, but has next to no combat utility.

Togata becomes intangible and thus invulnerable to physical attacks while his quirk is active. He also gains a lot of other abilities thanks to his 'glitched phasing' like moving through solid objects, 'swimming through the floor' to do an impression of teleport. He also can't breathe while he is invulnerable. But he can't see. Funny thing is that the WIP came way earlier that Togata even appeared in the manga.

Honestly, invincibility to physical attacks would be weaker than Togata's phasing.

>>
>>53165541

The differences are that Togata avoids things, and by thing I mean he avoids everything. He can't see, he can't hear, he can't touch unless he actively makes part of himself tangible, he can't smell. Whenever he uses his point, anything he makes intangible is just in a sensory void and he needed to work really hard to make use of it and figure out his glitch movement. Even the simplest actions like stepping through a wall needed to be practiced over and over again.

Invincibility as it's worded is straight up "anything can hit you and you don't care and won't budge." Sure you can't breathe, but neither can Togata, and you get to keep everything else. You don't get glitch movement, but in return you become literally impossible to stop by the wording here. Anyone trying to hurt you with physical attacks will hurt themselves instead, your own melee attacks won't suffer from recoil or real resistance since they can't exert any force against you.

I just don't see how they compare, Invincibility just seems so much better in both the short and long term and allows you to all sorts of absurd stuff.

However removing Imagine Breaker completely is a horrible idea.

>>53165542

You might want to use something that could get removed in emergencies if you plan on sealing it completely.

Imagine Breaker tends to be needed to deal with some of the more nonsensical beings on the magic side.

Then again with the more nonsensical ones reality gets rewritten multiple times. So the forcefield might not survive anyway.

A sensory perk that converts stuff you don't understand into stuff that you do. Foreign Languages are heard in your native tongue, Fashion statements above your head can show up as T-Shirts with what they are meant to convey written on them, And if a Lovecraftian Horror shown up, you don't get sanity damage, you see cute girls or something.

Or a GUI. Shows Quantified info about what you see.

>>
>>53165905

>>
>>53165703
A possible way to fix it might be that while nothing can affect you, you can't affect anything either. Meaning, while you are invincible you can't effect any change in your surroundings. Punches wouldn't hurt, you couldn't move anything, etc. How about that?

Use alchemy to make the devils fruit into a Potion/Smoothie. And take the scenario in Generic Xianxia with the reward of a a potion substrate that makes all potions added to it into one permanent potion.

Or study the notes of the guy in the One Piece setting who knows enough about Devil Fruit to make artificial ones and get better at it than he is, and the Alchemy perk in Black Bullet? that lets you imbue traits you understand well into items, but no more then 2 additional traits this way.

Admittedly, you've gone a little farther down the rabbit hole than I have, but I also love combining crazy technology and magic together until it all gets wildly out of hand. Which gets even worse because I sometimes forget I'm the only one in my whole group who took Above the Influence and is thus immune to most of the side effects from my crazy inventions.

Like Kamen Rider Device #15, code name Bloodlust. It's base is a cloth shirt woven out of Life Fibers from Kill La Kill. I then added in slots of up to seven Core Medals from Kamen Rider OOOs, most of which are custom creations of my own made from fantastic monsters like Medusa, Dragons, and even more bizarre creatures.

Then, to make matters even more pants browning, I created a bunch of new medals, called Soul Medals. Which are really just bound entities caught between time and space that I learned how to contact via Pact Magic in Forgotten Realms. So there's seven more slots that you can put the Soul Medals into. Each of which grants you some of the basic powers of the entities trapped inside.

I made a Kamen Rider Device out of Life Fibers, which runs half on raw Desire and another half on stolen powers from entities caught between life and death for one reason or another.

And then Raven thought it would be a great idea to test the device for me.

Bad ideas come in all shapes and sizes, but this has been one of my bigger ones so far.

Hey Red, some question MCU Vol 1/2 interaction questions?
Specifically on how to deal with Vol. 1's Glory of a monster That starts you in 1942 and you stay until you defeat Hydra.

Stuff I am wondering about. Hydra has deep roots and a lot of fingers in a lot of pies, including projects Jumper may be involved with as well. So as you go about destroying it piece by piece you might start to accumulate enough of their infrastructure that depending on how you act the difference between HYDRA and your organisation might seem academic to an impartial observer. That was a point of the earlier movies, that before Winters Soldier SHIELD was acting rather HYDRA ideologically. If they could have stepped away come out into the open plan, and dropped the HYDRA name, it seems the people in charge of hydra could have continued making SHIELD into itself by inches. Just growing inside the organisation until they were even more in charge and there was no difference between the two.

So I was wondering if in the process of taking all the pieces of Hydra sway from the beast for myself, Can I call my organisation Hydra also? Completely taking it over so there is no Hydra but that which I am in control of? Or is Dropping the Hydra name mandatory? Because Glory of a Monster + Abominable Mind seems more like you end up with less 'Destroying Hydra' and more 'Meet the new Boss, same as the old Boss' And some jumpers act like that anyway without the drawback.

And once the scenario ends I guess you can stay until Vol. 2 is supposed to start and get the CP then, but could you treat Vol. 2 as a new jump, resetting the world since you had how many years to butterfly things beyond all recognition? (Like Benefactor goes "Good Job Jumper! Here is 1,000 more CP, now I'm sending you to 2009 to see what the world would be like if you hadn't gotten involved in 1942.")

I had Third Magic plus the Sky Palace and Incubation of the Soul so I had the souls of my dead magical girls go to the Sky Palace. So I did the Third Magic ritual on the magical girl souls (They can't use Madoka Magic anymore but that isn't a problem because I can give them other powers.). I asked Digger if it was okay and he said it was yes as long as I didn't abuse it to bypass companion limits, which I'm not. I don't companion the magical girls in the Paradiso

I reserved the ritual for the greatest and most kindest magical girls who had ever fought for me. I used a blessed/purified Sinful Sommelier prior to the ritual to purify their sins, and had them partake in the wine in a symbolic action.

There was one small adjustment I made to the ritual. I would use Sidereal stuff to bind their fate to a piece of incense (Another reason why I did this rarely, because that can do stuff to fate.) during the ritual. I kept in my warehouse in a fireproof room. When it was burned, their souls would go to Purgatorio. It was a precaution I took just in case they rebelled. I kept it a secret from the girls. Not an honest action, but I didn't want them to sneak in my warehouse and take it.

Then they all rebelled. They didn't like my "no directly taking over worlds unless they're SUPER BAD and we can improve them" policy, because they had different definitions of bad. They thought activism took too long. In their defense, one of their complaints was that I was way too lazy while they did all the hard work, which is understandable.

I was...unwilling to burn everyone's incense. So I got them all to quiet down by talking to them. Just sitting everyone down and having a nice chat. They stopped rebelling. And no incense burning was done that day.

Or Vol. 2 could be a Giant Troll by Jump-Chan for the lulz. Like you think that you leave once you get the last of them. You are still there 74 years later, still looking for them. You KNOW they have to be there, because why else are you still here. So in 2014 she come over and goes "This is taking forever, but just this once, Here's some more CP to help you out" And gives you part 2. You keep looking you HYDRA for another decade until you get pulled into the warehouse to prepare for the next jump.

Turns out the Drawback keeps you from leaving until you got them all, but that does not mean you can leave early. You were always staying until 2014, and getting Vol. 2 offered then. And Hydra, you got them all sometime in the 70's. Since then it has been Jump-Chan eating popcorn and sending you on a snipe hunt.

Wraithbone is a psycho-plastic substance used by the Eldar for many different tasks, including the construction of buildings, ships and weapons.

Wraithbone is essentially solidified warp energy that is manipulated by a Bonesinger into any shape that is required. It is stronger than any known plasteel and harder to damage than adamantium, and will naturally repair itself, though the process can be sped up by a Bonesinger. Being created from the warp, Wraithbone has innate psychic abilities allowing it to be used as a communications pathway as well as structural support. It carries psychic energy much as a cable carrying current does, as well as containing psychic shields to protect the occupants from the warp.

Wraithbone effectively performs all of the tasks a machine would. The organic members of the crew use psychic powers to perform their duties, but it is the Wraithbone itself that actually does it. In the case of Eldar ships, the basic framework is created from Wraithbone and then the internal areas are made, finishing with the actual internal components. Even the mighty Craftworlds are made of Wraithbone, and this is how the occupants of Craftworlds survived the birth of Slaanesh, for the psychic shield of the Wraithbone protected them from his mighty psychic scream.

Wraithbone emits a sympathetic psychic signal that Eldar can lock onto and use to control the object. Generally, Eldar buildings have a flowing form and lack any harsh angles. It is also used to make Eldar Runes.

I know this should have been mentioned before CCDT reimaged Vol. 1, but since Cpatain America was made with the Strange Serum, and his blood being valuable because you could recreate the Serum by studying it was a plot point in the Agent Carter series, shouldn't the Strange Formula be Discounted/Free to super soldiers?
>>
>>53168200
Ah, so if you were already a genius, the boost wouldn't be as noticeable? K thanks. Also, for the Wizard's Mask, it says it's relative to skill level... but is that in both directions? It says that a novice wouldn't be able to cast so much as a fireball for free, but with absolutely absurd amounts of skill, could you eventually start casting things on the level of "grand thaumaturgy" for free?

For reference:
>Simple low level sorcery can be used freely, while the average spell has its energy expense halved, though grand thaumathurgy has its cost reduced only by a fifth. This is relative to the user’s skill level, so if one was barely capable of throwing a tiny fireball, that’d be reduced by a fifth rather than made costless.

>It's less the soul being drained and more negative emotions accumulating, only dissipated by grief seed absorption.
I think that is backwards. The process of becoming a Witch is caused by how deeply you draw on your magic. And the magic does not really replenish on its own, so there is a void left. That void manifests as the depression/negative emotions. But those are a symptom. Which is why they don't go away by doing life affirming stuff or getting counseling; you need to replenish your reserves with energy from a grief seed. This leaves the grief seed with less energy and it shows in its appearance.

>The entire system is supposed to be aentropic after all, so it stands to reason whatever's going on produces more energy than it's taking away.
That only seems to happen at specific points in the cycle. The Transformation of a Magical Girl into a Witch results in a more powerful being than the Magic Girl it was created from, and more energy the Kyubey use to put of the entropy of the universe. But they only input energy into the process once at the beginning when they grant a wish and a magical girl is created, and the return comes at the end when a witch hatches.
The whole process is called incubation for a reason. The magical girls themselves are the egg shells that are intended to break, not a real beneficiary of the energy creation process.

Ok, so I was in a frying pan fight last night (long story, alcohol and 80s action movies involved) and it got me wondering how good it is as a weapon.

It has the smash attack, shield self from attack, mini sled down a slope, and cook bacon!

What jumps can help improve upon the design?

So far I'm thinking combining it with a wand for magic attacks and size-changing ability from somewhere.

I'm currently making a build for the newest bleach jump, and I'm building my zanpakto's shikai power.
But I'm having a bit of trouble.
I want a sword that rips off Senbonzakura, you know with all the razor-sharp petals; but I want to avoid the poor-man's equivalent, of Rangiku's ash cat zanpakto.
I'm purchasing the Dissolving Blade shikai power, but it sounds more like the latter than the former.
Am I worrying over nothing, or is there a way to definitely get the senbonzakura-style of dissolving blade?

Eeeeh going to have to say this one runs off Jump-chan powers, so not with regular magic.
Though (depending on fanwanking) you could use something like Preserve The Land from Legend of Mana to convert the chamber into an item, then Cheat Mode to duplicate the item and then re-install them.

You're worrying over nothing. Mib said that it could be used for either. Originally it was a thing where you had to pay to increase the number of bits it dissolved into, so you'd just pay more to get Haineko's dust instead of Senbonzakura's petals. But people were annoyed that you'd need to spend more to get Haineko, though I think that actually makes perfect sense. Haineko isn't as powerful a Zanpakuto as Senbonzakura, clearly Rangiku spent her budget for it on just having it turn into a lot of particles and had little left for strength. Sorry, getting off topic. Anyway, Mib changed it to a vague general "hundreds of particles" thing to let you do either.

The problem with the Marines is that their concept of justice is warped. The series explores different kinds of justice, and the marines often ascribe to concepts like Absolute Justice, where they feel that absolute enforcement of the law is most just. >The Marines work for the World Nobles, who are corrupt monsters to the last. Some Marines might be good people, but they are holding up an infrastructure that is corrupt at its' core.
The Marines don't work for the World Nobles.

They're forced to babysit them from time to time, but we don't know what power the World Nobles have over the world (to the point that Doflamingo holding something of them was enough to guarantee him a seat in the Shichibukai).

The chances of you having to assist one considering that they rarely leave their home are not high unless you go for Admiral.

And not some marines, most have been shown to be good people besides some outliners that Luffy or other Marines ended up dealing with.

Deeming the entire organization as 'evil' just because there are some corrupt members and they are forced to serve some really nasty people once in a long while is like searching to eliminate the entire police force for the same reason.

Can't get more supernatural than "some multiverse-traveling omnipotent being plopped me down here to mess with the plot". Or would it technically count as a mundane method, since anyone can just read something on the internet, and it's just our ability to give testimony of that evidence that is supernatural?

In Suikoden there was a Cooking Minigame subplot in the 2nd game where one of the opponents twirled his cooking implements in such a way as to hypnotize the judges into voting for him.

No, we don't have any Suikoden Jumps, but if you are looking for some Cooking/Fighting techniques, that is one you could use. The Golden Wok technique...

So /jc/, I have a slightly strange question to ask.

Is there any sort of power or ability that would allow full on fights between beings (such as the jumper and one or more companions) without them either killing each other or holding back? Basically something where me and my companions can have full scale battles with each other without holding back and when we're done everything gets put back to normal.

This started out wanting to know if there was a way to get replica weapons that are not bladed, then progressed to them having a temporary version of any deleterious effects, such as delayed reaction time if it's coated in a neurotoxin. Then it worked its way up to powers and abilities as well.

Basically there's a lot of jumps where the opponents can't withstand the full force of a jumper long enough to give them any practice/exercise, so this would allow spars that wouldn't ingrain the instinct to pull your punches.

The former can hardly be called evil since that knowledge is dangerous as fuck and the government makes no secret that it's dangerous and shouldn't be pursued. You don't let people craft nuclear bombs in their basements. If you read the chapter of the Ohara extermination, you can see that the Gorosei are not happy at all to have to kill so many people. And yet their worries of someone with the knowledge of the ancient history being used to pursue mass destruction weapons was proven right after Crocodile took Robin.

And for the latter, as I said before, we hardly know enough of the World Nobles aside that the WG is scared shitless of displeasing them even when they're weaklings that could be exterminated using a single Marine captain, and to the point that they would give Doflamingo everything he wanted to keep them happy and their secrets hidden.

I don't understand the point of companion imports. If you're a companion jumper, can't you improve your companion's power by providing them with equipment and magic anyway? Moreover, couldn't you do it better than if you imported them so they could buy perks? I don't get it, is there something I'm missing here?
>>
>>53169351

There are several reasons. Sometimes you have perks that offer a considerable increase in power for little effort, and it's worth it to get those. Also, perks can offer meta-narrative abilities that can't be reproduced easily through augmentations. Finally, importing gives them a history in that world, and that can be fun.

You do realize that OP's world is really fucked up, don't you? Pirates have taken and slaved entire nations.

I'm not saying that the WG nor the Marine is perfect, but they're doing what they can in a world where there are lots of pirates that can exterminate entire kingdoms rampaging all over the place.

Destroying them for trying to save the world is kind of hypocritical.

>Not to Gods
Star Metal does not require gods to die. It can be formed from Ambrosia condensed from prayers sent to the 5 maidens. (Or Jumper and companions with the Sidereal Jump fountains)
You can get some from killing a god directly I think, but most comes from the starmetal meteorite that falls to creation when a god die permanently.

I don't know where the star metal stars come from originally, if they spontaneously generated by the mechanisms of creation, or of someone has to make them from 5 maiden ambrosia and hang them there.

But the Incarna seem to get enough prayer that any star metal scarcity is artificial. Like the Loom of Fate stuffed with it. Those stories about arranging a Gods death for the starmetal harvest are likely cause by folks who want it for projects that are unofficial, personal, or not something the 5 maidens would grant permission to 'mint' new starmetal for.

But a Tomb made from more star metal than you could get by killing all the gods in Heaven would make people assume you got the Maidens to sign off on it somehow, not that you harvested a couple Yuan-Su's worth of gods when no one was looking.

Buying things through CP is the fastest way to acquire them. Perks stack with everything, so no matter how much you buff someone adding perks on top always gives an improvement. Imports also give substantial discounts, usually being able to pick up every capstone in the jump for the price of 300-400CP.

The only reason it would be pointless is if you can already give them everything the jump offers, but then it's equally pointless to spend the CP on yourself.

Cut rate Shoggoths. Amorphous blobs that can incorporate bones for more locomotion options.
Made by magic, and the 1st generation still have original bones, so going Kandra can mean your flesh goes amorphous around your bones, and then you add, remove, or swap some bones, and change out of Kandra form.

The way they state it in the manga, the /detective/, or the detective's side, is not allowed to use evidence gained by supernatural methods. That would include the detective taking for granted something you said you gained through magic (or OOC knowledge).
The witch's side is allowed to use it, though (so the murder doll shouldn't have been able to stab Battler).

Also, it's only 'evidence' if you try to use it without supporting it - you can know who the killer is beforehand, then backtrack to where actual, physical evidence might be found, and then say "I found the knife after a thorough search of the mansion".

The Warpstone Pyramid was not crafted.

It was called.

Brought down from the cursed moon, falling upon a needle of blood-slicked salt within which were entombed the servants and riches of one of the greatest priests of Nehekhara - whose name was stricken from all histories for the hubris of his deed, and its consequences upon the land.

Of the fertile valley kingdom in which it fell, even before Nagash's madness stripped it of life, there was nothing there but death. All that gazed upon the falling star screamed, and all that its shadow touched fell silent.

And it was a small mercy that the pyramid came to rest in a crater, for that did not change, and nothing that sought out the Valley of the Moon's Spite failed to return changed - or not at all.

The thing is, I'm pretty sure you need a soul gem for Incubation magic. Because we did the ritual with third magic, their souls are in the body. That's why I bound their fates and not their souls to incense. I don't want to do anymore modifications to a system than I have to (It doesn't mean I don't do it, I just don't make modifications that often) because that gets into headcanon territory and headcanons can differ from person to person.

Fanwanking long combos also makes me nervous because if I fuck up and forget something, I don't want the entire thread to scream at me for making a mistake. I mean there's usually at least one or two people who take issue with something ASA does in his long perk combos.

Even if so that does not preclude people being given the 3rd magic soul treatment. It lets the soul exist independent of a vessel (like a body or soul gem) but does not prevent it inhabiting a vessel by some means or other.

And if you are creating the magical girls by the perk in Val's? Madoka Box Wraith Time jump, I though a soul gem was not mandatory after the jump ended (per the notes), so you could make them without one?
