You still get full damage-progression, just non-lethal. Sure, it's not as good, but it's still Unarmed Damage Progression. You could always take Improved Unarmed Strike to have it deal lethal damage, too.

Really, this is what people don't get. If you spend two feats to get Altered Life and Unnatural Resilience, you're now allowed to run all your things off of CHA. My current DM runs a houserule where X times per level you can burn XP to get a stacking % chance to get things like skills and feats each level.
Example: 50x[attribute score] experience to get a %roll to get a +1 to that permanently, like the 4th level increase, and you can do this three times per level with one increase per attribute per level.
Say you rolled a 70 and a 40, you get a +1 to what you were trying, and get another roll for another stat. You keep any overflow for progress here, so next level you get a starting 10% to that first stat.

So in the game I may running it's looking very likely that the party will be taking one r more gnolls as captives during the next session.

They've infiltrated a ruined keep where 5 gnolls have been hired to guard and are most likely to run into their leader first who is currently lazing about in the dungeon as they came in through the roof.

The leader is a coward and will bargain for his life if the fight isn't going his way but beyond that I'm not sure how he would react should the party then come across some of his remaining troops.

The pack is everything to the average Gnoll and I imagine even a CE creature has some compassion for his fellow kin that would push him to aid them in battle. If not how is being seperate from the pact likely to effect one?

Being a part of the pack is one thing, and they should try to help each other and stand up for one another.

But if someone's shown himself to be consistently weak, cowardly, and unfit to be part of the pack then they're probably going to end up being worth more as rations than as a fellow warrior.

They should consider it merciful to end someone's life quickly before he does something like give up information that'd weaken the pack.

If a gnoll gets caught alone, he should probably run and try to find allies. If he's taken captive, he's probably going to lie and tell the PCs whatever he thinks they want to hear, but not actually give them useful information unless he's tricked into it. More than likely, his information should be leading them into a trap.

Honestly, it's hella fun and if you've never run a game like that it's absolutely worth a shot. Balance is kept by virtue of the rule applying to EVERYONE though, so you gotta be ready to throw more feats onto the stats of anything you pull from a book. If you can do that, it's a blast!

Alright ladies and gentlemen, discard your fears of bamboozlement! It's time for the PCs of Blingmaker to be announced! For anybody that isn't aware, Blingmaker is a modified version of the Kingmaker adventure path I plan to run where the players can expect their PCs to get filthy stinking rich, even by the standards of adventurers (not to mention my own attempt at fixing some of Kingmaker's more egregious problems). Many people applied to Blingmaker, and before I announce who my players and PCs are, I would like to thank each person that applied for having put in the effort you did. I feel the general level of quality in the applications is very high- picking through all of them and making my choices was not easy, and if I had the time and talent for it I would have run several games to give all these wonderful characters their own story, their own kingdom, and their own HOARD OF RIDICULOUS BANK.

I had a lovely collection of apps for this game to look through and evaluate, and I've come to the conclusion that all of you made great characters. Even if you weren't selected for Blingmaker, I hope you had fun applying. I enjoyed speaking with many of you and giving you feedback on your apps. Beyond that, I think the process helped me become better not only at reviewing characters but also at recognizing what makes a good character good and a great character great. So again, thank you all for applying to Blingmaker, whether you were accepted or not.

Andrik strives to see the common folk's cause advanced, for people to have work and food. Despite his many years as a squire to a great knight, the man hasn't forgotten his roots as a poor farmboy, and would like to dedicate his time and money to ensuring the next generation grows up properly. After all, who knows which children are made for greatness by destiny? But all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, and at the end of the day Andrik hopes to be able to sit in a garden relaxing or sip at some drink with a few friends.

Greedy, greedy, and greedier still, Branwen's actions are entirely driven by gold and gems- or so she'd have you believe, at least. She desires to accumulate great wealth both to impress her patron and to grow her own magical powers, and is willing to use quite unscrupulous means to do it. Ultimately, she dreams of Scrouge McDucking it up with a massive hoard of her own, and would spare little expense to secure whatever finds its way into her bank account- just as her draconic patron would have it. But in actuality, Branwen has the naive heart of a young woman, and learning the meaning of friendship, camaraderie, and even love could certainly upset the plans dark Cenncroithi has in mind for her.

Up third, we have... Centarius' Antoinette Hearthsley! The NE Wizard is a lovely elven woman possessing great charms and an even greater insights into magic. Hailing from Kyonin's capital city of Iadara, the woman comes from an affluent family and was easily able to find her way into wizard college. Antoinette was intrigued by the mystique and power surrounding one particular field of study- unfortunately for the elven woman, she'd set her sight on the forbidden arts of necromancy. When her secret studies suddenly became not-so-secret and her maligned interests outed, Antoinette was left with no choice except to sever ties to her family, flee her home, and take a new name. After drifting to Brevoy she heard about the Swordlord's call for adventurers to purge the Greenbelt of bandits, and while she couldn't give less of a damn about politics or wars, she knows the chance to get at a few warm bodies when she sees one.

Given the chance, Antoinette would like to not only continue to train her talents, but to even teach others. She has signed to the charter to explore the Stolen Lands for the opportunity to hone her craft safely away from the prying eyes and strict morals of society, but also hopes to study some of the stranger magics rumored to linger in the area- including the undoubtedly magical explosion which shook the land nearly a year ago. Surely bandits couldn't really be responsible for such a thing, but in any case nobody is going to miss a few thieves or murders and they've got strong bodies that it'd be such a shame to waste...

In the fourth slot, we have... Stein's Franze Voigt! The LE Gunslinger is an older woman who has had a rough life in Port Ice, but a life that was saved from being even worse thanks to a dedicated uncle and her own senses finally telling her to get out of a bad relationship. Franze found her way into law enforcement after that, with a strong desire to protect the next generation and to crush subversive, dangerous elements of society... no matter what means are necessary. But when the somewhat paranoid woman isn't busy building a better tomorrow, she is fond of relaxing with music and tea.

Franze is thoroughly dedicated to her ideals. She comes to the Stolen Lands with a hope that she can help forge more stable bonds between House Surtova- with whom she has friendly connections- and the Rostland noble houses. On the other hand, failing that, Franze would still be a useful tool for House Surtova to have in keeping the Swordlords' plays in check. Will she really end up as little more than a tool for the Surtovas to use in their political machinations? Only time will tell, but if their goals begin to diverge from Franze's own, her determination and dedication could prove quite troublesome for them!

For the fifth PC, we have... MaximumSleep's Kyras Czarny! The LN Cavalier with a Bard VMC is probably better known in Brevoy by his more infamous and intimidating title, the "Abyss Knight". The tiefling was born of a short encounter between a poor baker and Rogarvian nobility, but his father was certainly never going to recognize him as his son when he had a demonic taint to him. Eventually Kyras would find himself in the company of a traveling troupe of performers, and it would be these people that would be his new family for a few years until an unfortunate encounter with river trolls left him as quite possibly the only surviving member of the group. It was then, forced to find a way to feed and fend for himself, that he adopted the persona of the Abyss Knight... But in truth, he's actually a pretty nice guy beneath the fearsome mask he wears for show!

The reason Kyras joins the expidition to clear out the Greenbelt is simple: to make his name even more infamous. Not content with the idea of being a humble performer or a noble's purchased thug, Kyras wants to carve himself into the legends of the land. With these efforts, Brevoy will either learn to see Kyras as a hero or find him to be a bigger beast than they had ever known- either suits the man's fancy fine. With a preposterous sum of wealth, Kyras would desire a stronghold to live safely and comfortably in, a place where he and others like him (those who have suffered for the circumstances of their birth) can take shelter from a world that shuns them.

Lastly, we have... Disk's Viviana D'Apparan! The NG Unchained Rogue/Mystic has a troubled past with a criminal family that trained her to turn a profit off the misfortune of others. However, a chance encounter with an errant knight not only saved Viviana's life but reforged it. Yes, honorable mentions go out to Andrei, Sigmund, Gregori, and Evelyn/Sofia. Unfortunately to some extent my picks were shaped by schedule availabilities, but ultimately I'm pleased with the final team. I feel there's an interesting dynamic to be explored between many of the PCs, while also achieving an acceptable balance in party roles. Incidentally, Branwen is actually going to be playing a witch that uses WIS to cast and the druid spell list, a change I offered to alleviate the fact that otherwise there would be two INT-based prepared arcane full casters.

I liked them individually. I feel Branwen and Andrik have the potential for an amazing dynamic, and I couldn't ignore Antoinette's extensive development as a sign of a player that's invested. I was bothered by the fact that they're both NE arcane girls, but that's slightly alleviated by the change I mentioned in >>52900490 and the fact that Branwen is NE with player-stated plans for a redemption arc and Antoinette is technically NE but kind of strikes me as TN in the first place since really she just wants to study her magic in peace and doesn't seem to have any nefarious plans.

Viviana is a second good influence for the evil PCs, and her goals play nicely with Franze's while still leaving some room for tension and disagreement over methods.

Olivia is well-written for the most part, and being the daughter of the old empire seems like a very solid foundation for this campaign. The backstory is short and sweet, which is nice. There are two serious complaints I have regarding her, and I think addressing them would help the character a lot.

First, her personality is a bit bare bones and her backstory does not do very much to build on it. We know she's impulsive and desires to be noble, but aside from that there's not much to go on. What does she do for fun? How does she talk to people she's not trying to impress? What attracted her to Heinrich in the first place, and why was she willing to kill him so quickly after being close to him for years?

Second, I'd like to know a bit more about how she's going to move forwards. While I don't think she needs to be a villain straight away, there should be a clear path for how she's going to develop into one eventually. As it stands, she's just on the run after an impulsive decision. She has a grudge against the people who fucked over her family, but does she have any clear goal?

My first game I ran was a single session dungeon delve into the mansion of a wealthy dead uncle of the face of the party. It was creatively inspired by darkest dungeon and finished with a gibbering mouther in a pitch black well in the cellar. It worked really well for me, wasnt too complicated and told a story.

I don't know if the meme argument really holds up that well for LoBaF, not because there weren't memes but because the memes were all over the place. At different points it was criticized for having too many waifus, not enough waifus, too many Outlanders, no complete apps, nothing but weak apps, or too much strong competition. Apps were also weighted harder to the end of the period than most games.

And the most meme app didn't even get in in the end after weeks of belly dancer posting.

Valeriya-Casimir was a masterpiece of manipulation. I have no idea if it was Valeriya's player self-shilling or just somebody overinvested in the character, but once they were put together it was pure meme magic.

Actually playing Wrath of the righteous. My character is an urban bloodrager with the destined bloodline and a rather shady racial heritage (I have the Racial heritage : dhampir feat , the bite attack feat and i rolled fascination for blood in the racial heritage table on the bastards of golarion book) She's a human ustalavic noble from the Arudora bloodline (a cursed ustalavic family because an ancient heir of the family who was a paladin of shelyn pity-fucked Urgathoa and had a kid with her, and latter kidnapped the little girl because Shelyn and the guy thought Urgathoa would be an abusive mother. Gm hinted that my character could be the child. ) and is a pretty uptight, honorable and lawful swashbuckler, hating demons and evil creatures with a passion, but hiding a secret fascination for the strange beauty of bloodletting and the perverse addiction of cannibalism (which she struggled against since she was young , but gives in to when she rages and bites her foes)

Long story short, my character is on the Marshal Mythic path and was nominated to the head of the crusade. The Gm asked if it was okay with me to take the prestige feat even tho i don't really like it because it puts the spotlight heavily on one character , but the other pcs and the gm assured me it won't be a problem.

So now, my character is at the head of the Crimson Crusade, and the inner circle of paladins are called Blood Knights, who the GM created a paladin archetype for. (think no more lay on hands , but smiting causes more damage and heals the paladin.) a personnality cult was born amidst the paladins, priests, and people we saved on the way of the crusade, which rapidly devolved into a full on cult, as my character began to give powers to her followers as a result of mythic power. Her cohort is a young girl she saved from demonrape hell and that is now basically the pope of that new religion.
I don't know where this is headed but i like the sound of it.

I don't know how serious the app is, and I think it's been said that Argentum can't even play, so whatever. This is a pretty interesting character nonetheless. It's unfinished, but the writing that is there is solid. It's entertaining and I think it fits the tone of the campaign pretty well. Without more to go on, I can only give speculative advice.

Personality is going to be an issue I feel. Yamelia is a homunculus created solely to serve a master, so being robotic is to be expected, at least at the beginning. If she does not at least have the seeds of a personality, she's going to be very dull to actually play with.

Gorynych might be difficult to handle. Yamelia's motivations are basically entirely dependent on him. It would be nice for there to be a bit more distance between the two. I think she's going to have an issue actually forming a unit with other party members otherwise.

Because there's nothing else to fucking talk about. Paizo content? Done it all backwards and forwards three times. Playtests? Spheres of Might is DOA-no, Dead Before Arrival, despite Jolly's attempts to save it. Avowed is the Avowed, people are still waiting on the next batch of updates and/or the damn thing to just COME OUT ALREADY. Spheres of Power playtests? Barely anything worth talking about. Builds? Guides have people covered, and if someone DARE ask if it's possible to make something like throwing weapons viable, they get told to fuck off when they're disappointed that you basically have to be an Arsenal Chaplain Warpriest to make it remotely "viable".

I just really like stories, and I really like seeing people make characters that they and others care about. Half the reason I come to /tg/ is for stories, and in return I share any that I am a part of since I know someone will enjoy them.

The application processes for these games are months long popularity contests. People get too invested in the quality (or lack thereof) of the apps everybody's talking about. The fact that it does what other classes do but better is the main selling point: Avenger gives you sweeter toys and more social/downtime stuff than its closest competitors (the other Full BAB noncasters). Teisatsu does Ninja better (when Ninja was already an improvement on the Rogue), the Lone Ranger archetype makes you generically a better Cavalier than the Cavalier, if you focus on mounted combat, and Warlock kicks the crap out of Eldritch Scoundrel Rogue.
