Kind of an obvious one in retrospect, but one that you might not think about.

'Squeezing' is not in fact actually 'squeezing' in any way shape or form. Like, a Medium creature 'squeezes' to get into a space two and a half feet wide, and for most Mediums that'd constitute standing sideways at most. Unless you're like, a gelatinous cube that takes up their entire space.

So Squeezing is a sort of 'combat squeeze' rather than an actual one. A space that's too small to comfortably fight in, not necessarily be in or move through.

It really depends. If he's rendered sexually and emotionally dependent, he might be retained by his Mistress as a valuable servant and ally. The simple hayseed with a moral compass type is pretty easy to corrupt with judicious application of sexual depravity. Hell, going down on him on the regular and the occasional anal experience is probably enough to ensnare him into basically any Evil scheme. People like that are easy to take advantage of. If the NE magi play their cards right, Andrik's loyalty is in the bag. Hell, if they double team him, it's a sure thing. No commoner can resist getting attention from two fine honeys at once.

Alright, so this app is just kind of a mess. It would really benefit from a few passes of editing and rewriting. From its current state, we have a tribal gnome crossdresser, and not very much else. A few questions really need to be answered.

What is going on with the tribe? In one sentence, the tribes are wiped out and scattered to the winds, in the next, they're united under Rattles. Some information on how big the tribe/tribes are, where they're located, or really anything would be nice.

What is going on with Rattles? He supposedly has a "very old soul" and many moons have passed since his birth, but is still under the care of keepers. How old is he exactly? If he looks childish because he's a gnome, why would other gnomes not take him seriously because of this? Is the tribe even primarily gnomes, and if not why is he the chief?

His personality does not really come through in his backstory, and while the personality section does a passable job, I'd like to see more.

Hey man, I'm just working out a gestalt of Henshin Hero (Speed Motif)||Self Pact Avowed with a focus into Aether Channel and Aether Lance. Don't Know if I want Self Pact over Nation yet though. Or what the race will be.

But at 8th, the thing will do around weapon damage+13d6+23 fairly easily and that's just for the +7d6 finisher, which is the last attack of 4-5 at the end of a leaping charge, not including crits.

I'm getting the feeling that I'm misreading how aether channel works.

Her personality section is also well-done, and her LUST FOR REVENGE does actually come through in her backstory. I think you could probably bear to cut down on some of the kasatha lore and possibly dial back the sheer amount of stuff she's done a bit. Even with all that, it's a very good app.

It seems to be a free action to replace your weapon damage with the aether pulse damage for one round. I'm not sure why the second rank has that +0 mundane line, and the rank three one just makes it get the speed property, and keeps the original weapon damage. It's ambiguous if the aetherpulse damage is multiplied on a crit in that case, but I think it just is a rider effect. And modulations are stated to affect the players choice of all the damage or just the pulse damage, but not really giving information on before that. Can I even get static damage on that attack before rank 3?

Until you start your next turn, melee and thrown weapons you use use your aether pulse's base damage instead of your weapon's normal dice (so if you have a dagger and +2 STR as a 5th level avowed with 3d6 aether pulse, your dagger attacks deal 3d6+2 instead of the normal damage).

The damage keeps the old damage type, so bludgeoning weapons still deal bludgeoning damage, etc. Except, your attacks count as magic for overcoming DR.

You don't get to increase the damage you deal for going up a size category like you normally would, because the damage is based on your aether pulse and you size doesn't affect the damage that does.

For TWF, you cut the damage dice of your pulse in half, because you get more attacks it adds up to a similar number as if you weren't TWF.

For crits and stuff, you use the normal weapon damage die to determine how much extra damage you deal. Going with the example from before, critting with that dagger won't double your damage to 6d6+4, it'll make it 3d6(pulse)+ 4 (STR)+ 1d4(normal dagger damage).

THe modulation clause you use on your pulse applies to anybody you hit with your weapons while the channel is active, because you're channeling your pulse through your weapon.

The +0 mundane line is there because it says it INCREASES the enhancement bonus, which technically means if something had no enhancement bonus to begin with there's nothing to increase. This means things without a bonus are counted as having a bonus of +0, so there's something to increase. Clunky, but functional. For the second, you're misreading it. You get to use the pulse damage AND the base weapon damage. It still don't multiple pulse damage on a crit though, I think.

Also yes you get static bonuses before third. Your STR bonus to damage is separate from your weapon's damage die, replacing the latter doesn't mess with the former.

This was a fun one. It doesn't take itself seriously, but manages to be a good set-up for a character. I worry that it might be a bit too silly, but that depends largely on the GM. Aside from that, I think Umbranae might come across as a bit too incompetent. I like the ditzy personality, but I'd like to know a bit more about what she's actually good at besides "has power over darkness". Being bullied is also a bit weak as a motivation for tearing down the establishment, but I think it works for this character specifically.

Calesedria's writer here with a late reply. I do have the build done and just need to put it on Mythweavers, it ended up being a Fool's Errand/Thrashing Dragon/ Primal Fury pounce-lockdown silly thing. As for motivation to join a team, I wrote her with the thought of filling the Cocytus "Big Muscle" role: point her in a direction and she'll tear a mudhole in it. I also made a point of pointing out how young she was at the initial conflict to show her hot headedness compared to the elders' patience and stoicism. I know it didn't come through that way in the app, and I'll try and fix that a bit when I edit it for the sheet tomorrow. Very short and sweet backstory here. I really want to know what made her such a bitch, because that is 95% of her character. I like Velvet, but she feels more like an NPC than a character. Why would anyone want to actually stay in a party with her for an extended length of time? She really does not have any redeeming qualities and just seems absolutely miserable to be around. While I think a character that is 100% obnoxious is a fun idea, I struggle to see it working in a game.

The backstory is not complete, but what's there is decent. It does a good job of framing Jaune's life up to this point, but it's very passive. As is, the backstory is mostly "Terrible thing happens to Jaune or his family. Repeat". I'm assuming some details of his soul-selling will be included once the backstory is completed, because that seems to be a major part of the character. What I'd like to see more than anything is Jaune's personality. I want to know what he's like, what he does for fun, if anything. I want to know what he's like when he meets someone.

God, Edward is depressing. That's not really a mark against the app, but it needs to be said. I have a lot of trouble even imagining him in a group with some of the more lighthearted characters. My biggest issue with Edward is how he's actually going to become a villain. As is, I don't see any drive at all in the character, and really very little except for pure soul-crushing misery. It's alright for him to be a very somber character, but how is that going to translate into him doing evil things? His personality is also a bit dull. Even the smallest bit of spice would help things a lot.

Villainy 2/5, Edward is pitiful. I want to give him some hot cocoa and a blanket. The only villainous thing about him is nihilism.
Cuteness 2/5, scarred, crippled, and sad. Doesn't do much for me.

Combat can USUALLY go moderately fast. However this can slow to a crawl online, if the GM is too busy not actually GMing, or if people start tabbing out while waiting for their turns or worse yet going AFK with no warning.

Contrary to many expectations, voice-chat can be the greatest impediment to any sort of speed if playing online.

Not much can be done about half the group not even wanting to play... but at least try to have what you're doing on your turn ready; as long as everyone does that and focuses on the task at hand the combat will be fairly swift.

I've sat across a table from GMs who let one combat go on for two fucking hours because half the group were playing monster hunter, didn't know how their character worked, were cuddling with the one girl who never learned what a dice was, or some combination of those.

I'm actually glad that campaign folded up, in hindsight. It was a malformed, ailing thing and had finally come to a point where it could be safely put down.

I really like Fahd's origins, and the backstory conveys quite a lot despite it's short length. I think adding just a bit more of the same quality already there would really round out his backstory. His personality could use a bit more, but I actually do get a decent picture of the character with just the short descriptive bits I have. The glaring flaw with Fahd is in his motivations. He does not seem even remotely evil, and mostly just seems to want people/cats to like him. There is a very short bit about rising up and claiming what the world owes him, but it feels almost tacked on.

I was going to try to do one more tonight, but I'm falling asleep, so Crytha, Romulus and Sophie will have to wait until tomorrow. I may end up scrapping the Crunch rating for something else, because it's becoming increasingly obvious as I do more of these that I'm not really conveying anything useful with it. If I do so, I'll update my previous reviews. Any suggestions for what to replace it with are welcome.
