Wish list for GHB2!
1: The 4th rules of One: The same ability DO NOT stack!
2: Allies(0-2 units) that don't break your allegiance.
3: The 1st rules of One: Each spell and prayer can be attempted only once per turn...!

Any idea? BTW, I think no one care about the Triumphs table, right?

>>
>>52789025
My area is pretty anti-WAAC/netlistic, so the win rate is somewhat more distributed since everyone pretty much just plays with whatever models they like/own (within the bounds of matched play)

That being said, the TK player is a net-listing waac faggot, but he has a fairly low winrate because no one wants to play him.

Kinda boring. I was hoping for a more interesting new aesthetic for the new skeletons.

Thundertusk are not "fine".

Most artillery is slow, vulnerable, has variable damage (D6 or 2D6), has to roll to hit, does not cause mortal wounds, and has a crew that can be killed.

The Thundertusk has none of these restrictions. It moves 8" (+D6" with Rampaging Destroyers), has way more wounds than your average artillery piece, has guaranteed 6 MW (at full health), does not roll to hit and instead automatically hits on a roll of 2+, ignores armor saves, and doesn't have a crew. It is low risk and high reward.

The closest comparison to the Thundertusk is the Hellcannon but it needs to roll to hit, has crew that can be picked off, and has randomized damage. It is high risk but also high reward.

Hurricanum is also in need of changes but its shooting attack is randomized and you can unbind the spell it casts. It it far less oppressive to the game than the Thundertusk.

Thundertusk design is bad for the game.

Hit rolls can be reduced in multiple ways but the Thundertusks ability cannot be modified

Ok anons, I moved here from 30k which I initially got into because I love the lore, but eventually learned to hate the metagame and the WAACing and it really wasn't satisfying to me collecting all the stuff and I fucking hate whatever 40k has become

AOS is something I'm really enjoying right now; I'm enjoying collecting, planning my list, painting and I'm looking forward to more active gaming and I feel much more positive about the whole shebang

What's your favourite thing about AOS? What's the thing that makes you go "Yeah, this is it"?

I think the new blends of Orruks are the perfect blend of comic relief and insurmountable horde of destruction. Ironjawz and Bonesplitterz are, imo, more interesting than the greenskinz of old, or even the 40k Orks, which are useless now.
>>

Cool models

Reread, they said they love 30k for the lore, not AoS. They only cited hobby reasons for AoS.
>>
>>52790437
honestly I don't think so. Just as recently as the end-times they got Vermin Lords, Stormfiends and Thanquol & Boneripper, not to mention Battletome: Skaven Pestilens.

I don't think we will see anything Skaven any time in the next 1.5 years.
>>
>>52790559
I mean it's hard to argue that that's anything but a Skaven. I know they've been showing off Cthulhu Pirate Aelves, but that's not one of them.

I personally think it's likely we'll see

Flying Dorfs -> Order
Flying Rats -> Chaos
Flying Cthulhu Aleves -> Death
Flying Orruks/Grots -> Destruction

by the end of this year.

I for one think it's fucking awesome that AOS seems to be going in a "flying airships" direction.

This seems forced to me. Nothing justifies it except the perceived lack of army choices currently within the death faction. That, imho, is not a good reason to put dark elves into death faction.

Grots, Ironjawz, and Skaven are already discussed in the lore as having some sort of airships, and the rumor consensus is that Cthulhu Aelves are sky pirates. This isn't me wishlisting, I'm describing what's literally most likely to happen.

I love the aesthetic, I don't like constricted narratives and AOS gives you almost limitless potential when it comes to creating backstory and fluff for your own dudes.
I actually like the lore, High fantasy can always sink down and have low fantasy elements but it's difficult for Low fantasy to go high.
One of the biggest elements is the online youtube community for AOS rocks, it's pretty small but the people are warm and inviting.
The hobby aspect is great, the sculpts the shift to round bases and this incredible interesting blend of old Tolkein inspired fantasy with elements of steam punk and sci-fi really do it for me. I like the idea of a horde of bonesplitter trying to take down an airship. Worlds should never just be one thing, different groups are at different stages. Even now we have uncontacted tribes meanwhile we have hoverjets it's pretty mad.

There is no one thing, AOS just does it for me, it's exciting. I also feel like a lot of the arsehole players were fantasy obsessed, and hated any shred of change to what really was quite a bad game. and left when the end times happened, so my LGS and GW was left with a really fun bunch of people to hobby and game with, for me that was probably the biggest draw.

I have be question about blood warriors. I'm trying to figure out if a 5 man unit can take a Goreglaive. The warscroll says "1 in every 10 models may instead be armed with a Goreglaive" Does this mean the unit needs 10 dudes to take one? Or is it there to clarify that you need 20 to take a second glaive? I know it's honestly because the box contains 10 guys and one glaive, but I'm trying to figure out if a smaller unit can still take it.
I feel like I've read rules phrased more specifically like, "if the unit contains 10 or more models, one model may..." but maybe that's a 40k thing I'm thinking of.
Do any other warscrolls help determine this?

Not skaven imo. I'm painting skavens these days and the tail design doesn't fit. The rings are not closing to the end like the existing models.

Moreover, we can see this pick had been cut very heavily (what is this dark part on bottom? not the base!), so it could be part of something bigger. Could be bloodbowl this time with the nurgle team maybe ?

I would love to see new skavens tho, especially with the skryre theme.

So, I'm planning to use both Neferata and a Vampire Lord in my army with Skeleton Warriors as my Battleline.

Would you all say Neferata's Command Ability is good enough to use her as the General instead of the Vampire Lord? Or should I stick with the Vampire Lord as General so that my units can benefit from his Command Ability as well as Ruler of the Night?

The way I'm looking at it, the Vampire Lord's Command Ability is really good, but only benefits one unit, whereas Neferata's is a bubble that can benefit all units (indirectly, anyway). But if Neferata is a general, she can't take Ruler of the Night and give an extra 5+ save to units 10" around her, only the base 6+. However, at the same time, her Command Ability is already very protective, plus she provides the base 6+ extra save, along with any other Hero.

Neokislevite monster-hunter stormcast who all have an intense hatred for the Beastclaw Raiders for despoiling their homelands, and are now motivated by revenge for their ogre-eaten tribes than for Sigmarite orthodoxy.

On the table they're mostly vanguard chamber stormcast with some normal ones to make up the anvil of the army, with a heavy lean towards hunters, palladirs, and prosecutors (for hunting those fucks across the Ghyran tundra)

No offense, but you've got a low bar there.

You could probably make a beastclaw raiders list with like seven models.

The problem with that is that they're huge models, which are a bitch to transport. Be wary of that.

>>
Gf wants in. What's the absolute easiest army to play.m? I'm talking never in her life played a wargame before easy.
>>
Ever since I noticed it, I can't un-notice it. In every piece of Age of Sigmar artwork, fighters are in the middle of swinging weapons or may be lying on the ground, but you never see anyone actually hit someone with their weapon. It's like they want to have a game about eternal warfare but don't want to depict violence.
>>
>>52796693
It's the same in 40k. "About to hit someone" looks a little more like a heroic pose than "currently hitting someone". There are exceptions, of course, but they're few and far between.

So a good buddy of mine landed a job at a GW, and because of this has started an AoS army. And because of this, I too am now thinking of starting one. I've been eyeing the Slaves to Darkness start collecting, and I think it's pretty cool looking. I'm just concerned about the Chaos Warriors. Are they as mono-posed as they seem? Judging from the front of the box they don't look very fun to model

Why can't I find the cost for a vampire lord on abyssal terror in the generals handbook, Was this left out by mistake?

I am thinking about buying all three start playing sets for death. I can make is mostly soul-blight by turning the cavalry into blood knights and then making a coven throne, vampire on zombie dragon and vampire on abyssal horror. I can then make the crypt terrors into vargheists. I will have very few models but they will all be extremely fast and extremely hard hitting.

My zombie dragon can take redfurry and tomb blade, meaning he will almost always attack twice and heal for every model he kills. With the vampire lord on the abyssal terror the zombie dragon can fly 28". Seems like a really strong combo to me. Thoughts?

What kind of posing are you trying to do?

I have a partially assembled battalion on my desk. The Chaos Marauders and knights are on the same sprues that you get if you buy individual boxes, which are shown on their gw store page.

you cant see the chaos warhounds sprues on their page. But they are still in a warhammer fantasy box, so i doubt they have been changed. They come in two halves which snap together.

From what I can tell from my leftover Chaos warriors parts is it looks like they have new sprues but the final result looks almost identical.

if being able to pose your figures is a big deal I would play a different army unless your really competent with greenstuff.
>>
>>52792103
Azyrheim colonists under the lead of Irene von Sturmschmied trying to settle on a freshly cleansed part of Ghyran. While having the forests belessing Chaos shits keep popping up and they have to go stomp them. Also, Ooruks sometimes comming around looking for a fight. And did we mention the undead salesmen that appear every monday to stirr up a kerfuffle? Why the fuck did we ever settle in this place?

Honorable mentions go to:

-Travelling Battlemag Trixie and her trustworthy Hurricanum that gets the award for being the most hated model on the table.

-Hans, last member of a Helbardier unit who valiantly charged a badly wounded Gordrakk and managed to kill him. Has now a Maw Krusha tooth attached to his belt (that my based opponent gave me from spare bits he had left over).

-Yet nameless band of outriders who simply perform amazingly well in every game I field them.
>>
>>52800260
Thanks for the heads up. I don't much *need* my models dynamically posed or whatever, but the whole "rank and file" thing has never really been my aesthetic. I want my crazy chaos warriors to be menacing and heroic, you know? Like I'm not even thinking anything to crazy, just poses besides "My shield is directly in front of me, and my weapon is directly in front of me parallel to my shield"
>>
I find it weird that GW is still sending mixed messages about Valkia. They kind of hint that she may be a daemon prince in her lore, yet she doesn't have the daemon keyword.

>>
>>52800313
have a look at the chaos warriors regiment sprues on their page. Its pretty clear how they fit together, sadly its probably not what you want. A lot of the armies that existed during warhammer fantasy still have that rank and file aesthetic from how they were designed to sit in a grid together.

Have a look at some of the new/recently updated armies like fyreslayers, flesh eater courts, ironjawz, 40k crossover daemon armies, etc. You will probably find something you like there. You wont be able to get a battalion box for them but the start collecting! ones are good value especially if you can get your friends discount
>>
>>52800413
Yeah I was just looking at those arm sockets, it's a little unfortunate but I feel I could make it work with a little cutting and a little green stuff. The greatblades are resin and available online, though i'm sure you could get creative.

I'm both excited for a new Freeguild look but also terrified they will look retarded. I'm hoping the old empire aesthetic will survive in some form or another, but I'm not holding my breath. City of Secrets made them sound a lot like traditional state troops.

his units are mostly
a celestant prime
knight venator
lord relictor
vanguard raptors with hurricane crossbows.
in a 750-1000 pt roughly list ( it varies) is this some kind of unbeatable combination?
has anyone else encountered any kind of sigmar dominance? what are their hard counters? my friends and i dont play at stores so we dont observe any kind of local meta.

Google some of the 80s/early 90s DND art, it's hilarious. Or fantasy book covers from that era.

Karl Kopinski is(was?). GW's greatest illustrator.
His sense of colour theory, composition, and pure character bursting from his paintings really made warhammer unique.

Yeah, and you have to be a sucker (or live in a shit area) to buy it at MSRP. eBay is full of great deals, and you can often convince FLGS to give a discount if you mention an Amazon/eBay listing.
>>
>>52803603

Because with his "decide a die roll" you can nearly guarantee a 9" charge with him and have him get a mean alpha strike on some asshole that's still alive by turn 3. It's just fun, not competitive.

>>52803552

Karl is entirely responsible for people loving lizardmen empire and Bretonnia and the army books (and codexes) he illustrated are by far the best GW has made.

Also the dude livestreams his drawing on Facebook which is fascinating to watch
>>

Ebay's deals aren't always so great. Maybe if you're looking for old, shittily built and painted models. NiB stuff isn't as discounted as it used to be a few years ago. Is there a big reason that the deep discounts on NiB stuff that existed years ago are gone now?

Hey all, I have been contemplating putting together a Tzeentch Daemon army and wanted to get your take on it.

General

Lord of Change - 300

Heroes

Gaunt Summoner - 100
Blue Scribes - 120
Changeling - 140
Herald on Disc - 120

Battle line
Pink Horrors x 10 - 140
Pink Horrors x 10 - 140
Pink Horrors x 10 - 140
Blue Horrors x 10 - 50
Blue Horrors x 10 - 50
Blue Horrors x 10 - 50

Battalions
Multitudinous Host - 30
Change Host - 60
Host Duplicitous - 50

Scenery
Balewind Vortex - 100

So that's 1590/2000, the rest would be for summoning, presumably flamers to add some more shooting?

How disparate can Ironjawz armor schemes be without losing a cohesive look? I mean like, one gut has red armor and yellow pauldrons, one has red armor and black pauldrons, one has red armor and red pauldrons, etc.

Could work, or no?
>>
>>52803083

I wouldn't be surprised if they don't put a lot of effort into something that could have existed in Fantasy for quite a while. Stuff like the Kharadron are a perfect means of giving AoS its own identity and after years offer the chance to do something different.

After the Kharadron I can actually picture heavily sea themed themed Dark Elves because its composed of two elements in Fantasy that never had a lot of room to be focused on because they were just facets of one culture.

Two of them are straight up Gutter-runners with light gear, a huge cloak and weeping blades. Perfect Assassins OR a Death runner since he's supposed to have an identical clone

You know by this logic every transport in 40k is shit because you can do the exact same thing, models that can't be placed are destroyed, etc.

Not saying you're wrong but good luck trying to surround something with a Knight-titan sized base. I will certainly try though
>>
>>52805239
Was about to say this. Seriously there's no world where Slann and burn rhyme.
>>
>>52805939
i think in 40k you can disembark after moving the transport?

in aos you disembark in the hero phase, so if youre in the blimp when it moves then youre stuck in it until your next hero phase

>>52805965
To me, slann rhymes with orange.
>>
>>52805939

The caveat is that you must disembark in the hero phase, which means you can't simply just retreat out of combat and hop out.

Surrounding the blimp (to the point that there's no spot that isn't within 3" of your models") isn't ridiculous with flying units.

I'm talking about how in 40k if your transport gets blown up and it's not open topped you can sometimes get stuck where you can't place inside impassable terrain, can't be within an inch of an enemy model, and must try to keep coherency and you'll sometimes lose units or models

And yeah i understand if you charged with 2 units i suppose it's not that difficult to surround the smaller blimps. Though it's kind of a dick move i would feel bad maybe

There's probably more but I don't remember off the top of my head.
>>
>>52806087

Yeah but in 40k it's much less of an issue since you can move or tank shock before disembarking, in AoS you're fucked if you didn't plan it ahead of time.

And yeah auto killing units by trapping them against terrain and blowing up their land raider is an old favorite

Steampunk is an aesthetic, not a technology

KO are not steampunk, they are aetherpunk.

They're only really steampunk going by aesthetics, and honestly even then it's arguably a stretch given that they don't use steam and their armor has more in common with old diving suits.

aether gold is found gaseous in its natural state and still remains gaseous when heated up and compressed into the endrin or the suits, only in certain cases like when they shoot it from the guns it becomes solid and there's no mention of liquid aether gold as far as any leak has been concerned with
it's, by all means possible, magical NOT!steam(c)

if we want to talk about societal analogies we could take into consideration that these are an industrially developing, capitalist meritocracy and that grimdarkness is not mandatory for steampunk

aetherpunk looks completely different than having people into mechanically moving power suits, complete with pressure gauges and connectors for the movement of said gas from engine to mechanism

I got the Battletome and a friend of mine said there is another book I need, grand alliance: death since it has also rules for my Army, mainly a different Ghoul King, If I get the book can I use everything from my battletome and just use the Ghoul King from the Death book? He said he has the keyword "Flesh eater courts" So I could use him fine? I mean +1 to hit/wound sounds really good for an Attendants at court list. I also tried google and couldn't find anything other than "yeah you can" I would like a reason why I could, like in the generals handbook or somekind of FAQ.

I was also looking for the book or even the single warscroll for the King if anyone could take a pic and post it here I really would appreciate it.
