>>52743132
Speaking of which, what are other good grapplers besides Hangman and Tetori?
>>52743161
Barbarian is good at grappling and is a strong enough chassis that dropping a feats on it is pretty easy.
Initiators can make good grapplers, I think steel serpent or whatever it is gets a stance with a constrict.
>>52743132
I'm sure there's a lucky man in Blingmaker you'd want doing that to you, anon!Which are your favorites?
Let's talk about alcohol - not just the type of alcohol you enjoy while making a character or playing a character, but what your character him or herself would likely drink.
What are some fantasy brews you've chugged over your gaming career, or perhaps invented all on your own? Does your character have a preference for their alcohols?
Hell, look at this wikipedia page! There's an entire section dedicated to Golarion beers!

Not that anon butI want Seska to hold me down and...
I'm thinking about making a yandere deathless ghost for Overlewd, but I can't decide whether to focus on melee shenanigans with some variety of soulknife or Aberrant Aegis or whatever, or to go full into MAXIMUM TELEKINESIS EVERYTHING with a spellcaster class. Any thoughts?
>>52743193
I like Gregori's picture a lot but he seems too shy to act like thesavage rapistof my dreams.
Kyras, Sigmund and Stanislaw have the sort of chad thundercock thing going on. But my favorite isMadzaz because of weird goblin dick
>>52743248
There's already an abundance of melee people. Stand out above the crowd! Be ranged!

>>52743286
Well, Kyras and Andrik at least have that lovable jock thing going on. One's probably going to admit that he's insecure and that your party is the first friends he's had in forever, the other's just a really mellow guy who's gonna be a true bro.
>>52743323
I was considering maybePsychic Armory, with the panoply all taking shapes of important objects from her life or things like that.
Is there a way get Soulknife to run off Cha instead of Wis, though?
>>52743107
>>52743286You know what they say about the quiet ones...
How do you fix CMB/CMD. Just make them regular attacks?
The thought occurred to me earlier that even though Blingmaker has seen a lot of characters getting memed, none of them really got memed long term. Remember when Tanith was getting memed? Or Seska after that? Or Kyras/Milre after that? Or Franze after that? Or Andrik after that (the only person mentioned so far that's still at least kind of memed)?
The only person from Blingmaker that's been consistently memed is Harland AKA Nugget Man.
What's that say about Blingmaker? Is the game itself simply less memeable, or is it that many characters have been popular but a new popular one comes along and knocks them out of the spotlight? Or is it because Blingmaker hasn't been getting shilled in the threads much?
Alright, so I know that SoM is currently a hot mess because of Ssalard, but lets talk about the cool things in it that aren't a mess, or that we want to do with it.
Personally, I'd love to make acharacter built around Barroom Sphere, so he can fight people withladdersor even kill someone witha fucking pencil!
>>52743436
Take a look at the Fool's Errand playtest, and the way its "lock" mechanic works as an alternative to grapples.
tl;dr: just use saving throws with a DC set based on your relevant stats and level or class level
>>52743441
People mostly shill themselves I think, maybe the blingmaker apps are just more honest.
>>52743161
Strangler archetype for brawler looks good on paper but get completely shat on with the removal of the unarmed strike feature. Meaning they loose improved unarmed strike the feat, which the need in order to use improved grapple. It's fucking stupid.
>>52743436

>>52743441
>>52743459
Kyras seems to have been driven onward by occasional shilling, yes, but at least he fucked off after it became clear that he was doing it too much.
>>52743441
Isn't that a GOOD thing, though? That we should strive to only meme when a good crop comes up, and after our fun is through we move onto other things?
>>52743462
Yeah, it's fundamentally fucked up in a way that goes well beyond most bad archetypes.
>>52743441
What even is a long term meme app? Who would want to be mentioned every fucking thread?
>>52743331
Y'know, it's funny watching the sudden shift in desirable male traits. We somehow did a hard right turn from "calm, nurturing, bland daddy-fetish archetype" to "CHOKE ME AND HATE ME"
>>52743193
Hrmmm personally I'd wantAzuk, Sigmund, or Andrik to be rough and manhandle my small character. I'm not too sure about Kyras cause of his meme status.
>>52743598
CHOKE ME AND STEP ON ME is my default desirable female traits so maybe it makes sense.
>>52743598
Why can't it be choke on me and love me? WHY NOT BOTH ANON?
>>52743459
I tend to agree. I think new apps got a bit of attention from the general in general, but the players didn't really shill for themselves and so nothing really quite stuck. Blingmaker itself is pretty solid meme material I think, so it wouldn't have taken a lot to make a Blingmaker character achieve TrueMeme status.
If the Blingmaker players are less shilly... That's probably good? I hope Blingmaker doesn't go offer the radar when it starts though, because greentexts from it should be interesting unless the DM manages to completely flop or it's a bamboozle.
>>52743481
Kyras only got memed as one half of the Kyras/Milre ship, IIRC.
>>52743491
Yeah, I agree. Apps aren't worth meming long term. You meme the game long term, like once the characters have actually been picked and greentexts start coming and shit. I think that'd be right, anyway, but in practice I don't think it happens. Does it? I haven't paid too much attention to most /pfg/ games.
>>52743606
Why was he memed in the first place, anyhow? Apart from an occasional [CAPSLOCK HEEL PROMO]Normal, kinda hesitant real talkI don't remember that much going on.
>>52743609
>>52743632
It can be both, I don't mindas long as it's rough.
>>52743606
I hate to break it to you, butI don't think your app has much to carry itself on besides memes and having a high lewdness factor. But that's just, like, my opinion man.

Hey /pfg/,
I'm trying to put together an alchemist and I could really use some help. To preface, I'm pretty new to the game so I'm not super experienced in how a lot of the rules work yet. That said, how would you go about optimizing an alchemist that's setting out to become a Brewkeeper?
I keep going back and forth on which archetypes I should be looking at, what my playstyle should be, etc. The end goal is to be playing a Brewkeeper while also not being a complete detriment to the group.
I don't really care for bombs much (as they don't seem to fit the Brewkeeper theme very well), but at the same time it appears as though they're necessary to make the class work (since Harmful Homebrew works best with splash weapon... like a bomb, for example). Are there any other reliable splash weapons I could look into? Everything I've found, with the exception of bombs, seems clunky at best.
Since bombs are likely very helpful in making the Brewkeeper work, the Vivisectionist/Beastmorph build looks dead in the water. If I felt like the bomb playstyle fit the character more, I would likely go with a build that min/maxes my bombs, but the character I've got planned out really has no interest in doing something so destructive. I'm feeling like that leaves me a little restricted.
After that I was considering maybe doing something with Chirurgeon and healing bombs, but based on everything I've read they're just completely useless. I like the idea of playing a healing alchemist a lot, but there's no way I'm going to bother if combat is going to consist of nothing but me fiddling with bombs and extracts just so I can do some mediocre (at best) healing.
So I'm stumped. It really feels like what I want to do with the character isn't particularly complicated, but achieving it is starting to feel like an impossible task.
Please help.

But the most vanilla was pretty unsurprising.
>>52744024
Mine is definitely nowhere near being vanilla.
>>52744044
How do I even search up F-lists? Are they all "private" unless you link them.
>>52743829
Tanglefoot Bags, Fuse Grenades, and Holy Water are all useful splash weapons.
By using your harmful homebrew on a tanglefoot bag, you can essentially gen an enemy heavily debuffed by at least 2-3 rounds, allowing your allies to focus on either more dangerous foes, ground fliers, exhaust and stun enemy barbs, or fuck with an enemy caster.
>>52744024
>the most vanilla one?
I can almost guarantee I do.
>>52742579
Where did you hear that? It's hilarious.
Forgive my ignorance, but what's an F-list?
>>52744044
Same here. My characters tend to be mostly kind of vanilla, into rough but loving stuff at worst. The hard stuff I save for dedicated F-chat-going profiles.

I feel like a jerk. I misbalanced ONE encounter and now I've upset my PCs.I didn't think two (2) lurkers above would be too much
>>52743443
Going Jackie Chan with the Barroom does sound like good clean fun.
I think mixing Barroom, Scoundrel, Scout, and Open Hand would make for an interesting character. Frequently drunk and not so much a skilled pugilist as a crafty and shameless son of a bitch who is not above poking people in the eyes, kicking them in the nuts, and tying them up with their own shirt and pants while pretending to drunkenly bumble through a fight and then kicking the crap out of them when these shenanigans create an opening.
Berserking+Brute+Duelist also looks like it's got some fun things for playing a juggernaut-type. Hurl enemies around with the Brute Sphere and slam them into walls and people, deal out attacks that leave people battered and bleeding, while absorbing a shitton of punishment with a mix of DR/Bludgeoning and temp HP.
Athletics Sphere also seems pretty nice to get your Prince of Persia on, too.
>>52743906
As >>52744073 is suggesting, go not for a direct damage character but entirely for someone built around being an area of control asshole, the guy that entangles, prones, and sickens his enemies while providing buffs to friends.

>>52744099
Honestly most of the characters I do for lewd RP tend to follow a similar ERP format that my main f-list has.At least for female characters, which is always usually some form of hard stuff.
>>52744119
>Do I need to make an account?
Yes.
But you can make a F-list for every character you ever make. Listing exactly what turns them on and what turns them off. Then you can share with with any prospective partner and they'll have a better idea of what your character is into.
>>52744134
They look fun, but I've never had the chance to test them in play. It's better than just effectively giving everyone a fly speed.
>>52744139
Well, now that I'mrunning an evil game, I might start bringing a bit more of that to the fore.
No promises though.
>mfw a man is asking a perfectly answerable question above and all we can talk about is how rough you want it
God dammit.
>>52744182
I want it really rough anon!
>>52744073
>>52744113
Those are the sorts of things I was looking at, but I was worried they'd be a bit cost-prohibitive over time. Since alchemists can make a number of bombs for free every day, I figured that would just be the most reasonable choice, at least as a 1st level character.
I just can't really find a way to make the bomb-heavy playstyle fit the character I want to play, and I definitely don't want to have to dedicate a bunch of feats to something I plan on transitioning away from eventually.
>>52744094
It's a .net website where you make character profiles for ERP, with its main feature being an extensive list of kinks you can categorize in terms of how much you like them. Depending on who you ask, the F in F-List stands for either Furry or Fuck, I think originally it was pretty much just furries but now there are a lot of non-furries there too.
There's also a /tg/ Chatroom in their IRC (which is called F-Chat), though I don't know that there are that many people there who actually frequent /tg/.
>>52744119
Yes, but you just make a master account that you can then make many characters for. You can choose whether or not other people can see that your various characters are all yours or not.
>>52744106
Running away is a valid option. Not their dumb fault they stayed and fought.
>>52744206
>I just can't really find a way to make the bomb-heavy playstyle fit the character I want to play,
How about you tell us a bit more about said character? Perhaps Alchemist may not be the best way to get into the PrC for them
Also
>at least as a 1st level character.
You're not going to be getting into the PrC until at least 5th level, you can stand to have a different play style until then
>>52744160

>>52744206

Where are they from? How were they raised? Why do they love alcohol?
>>52744251
Yes I know. I like how they look, but again I've never actually seen them in play so I have no idea how detrimental to the game they are.
>>52744240
>Running away is a valid option.
That's like asking them to power off their PS3. Yes the option was always there but sometimes they don't see it until after the fact.
>>52743829
I don't have a lot of help to offer, other than suggesting you buy a Hybridization Funnel because they're great for anybody that wants to use splash weapons. Also, take the Alchemical Strike feat.
>>52744139
When I make a character, I have to decide whether they're meant to be lewd or not because I can't bring myself to do lewd things with a character I thought of as non-lewd while making.
This OP actually gave me an idea. How about a Mermaid synthesist summoner? It would basically mean they would have to be wheeled around like a cripple outside combat, but could grow armor on a whim and go ham.

>>52743050
I played a merfolk once.
She was a Draconic Bloodrager, and was the angriest little fish girl. She was first introduced to the party posing as a crippled girl being pushed around in a wheelchair (which another member of the party had made, our dwarven alchemist). We had a running gag with her mortal enemy being 'the blasted steps of legged kind' whenever she had to traverse stairs (since we had a lot of fighting in forts and castles and stuff).
By the end of the campaign run we had we got to a point where we were to be knighted by the royalty of the land.
However she had one last foe to conquer.
The flight of stairs up to the front step where the ceremony was being held. In hindsight the king and queen were embarrassed she had to crawl her way up the steps, but in her stubborn pride she refused to let herself be carried and tore up her 'fancy clothes' on the way up. The party got a good chuckle out of it.
Would love to play her again some time.

I recall everyone's all pitying her husband because Amira's 20 and he's like 13, so she'll be the rip old age of 23 when he's able to bone her, but why didn't anyone get to that when she was 16?
>>52744566Thank god
>>52744250
>>52744268
Well, I don't have a deep or complex backstory written out currently, since my DM advised against it (group is full of first-timers and he doesn't want half the group coming in with a novel and the other half coming in with a character they threw together in ten minutes), but I've got some vague ideas kicking around that I'd like to stick to, if possible.
The campaign doesn't take place in Golarion or anything so I don't really have any established lore I have to stick to. He's a tengu alchemist. He was abducted as a teenager and forced to fight other bizarre looking humanoids (goblins, ratfolk, etc) for entertainment. Out of curiosity, he always paid close attention to the concoctions the pit fighters were forced to drink before fights (mutagens) to enhance their physical abilities and after fights (elixirs/potions) to heal their wounds. Eventually he was able to outsmart his captors and escape, but with nowhere to go he just sort of settled down in the woods as a hermit for a while. Not really interested in violence, he avoided hunting and marauding in favor of foraging and brewing using the knowledge he gained in the fighting pits. Over time, and with years of experimentation he became proficient in his craft, and now he wanders the land as a traveling brew salesman.
As I said, it's not the most polished backstory, but it's essentially the sort of character I'm interested in playing.

Well firstly, you ned to get to know your setting lore put in order, ecause Brewkeeper is strictly a PrC for worshippers of Cayden Caileen
As for archetype help, you sadly don't have too many options available for what you need that replace bomb stuff efficiently for you. Beastmorph and Rage Chemist may be good thematically for his pitfighter background, but otherwise you don't have much for yourself

Thanks for the food for thought.
I may stick with tokens that contained stored magical energy, making them a desirable optional component for enchanting, and an optional replacement for spell components. The tokens may not simply be coins, though coins would have a known value and be easier to conduct business with; there would also be other objects who's market value may be more fluid and harder for the party to sell off at a high price.
That solves some of the economy issue, villages and small might not have the means to evaluate this stuff or the means to use or trade it with other areas, and so may not accept such things in payment.
This still does not solve the issue where an untrained laborer would be unable to feed themselves, let alone a family, by RAW. I'm going to have to do some research on how much historical farmers where able to produce, along with how much it costs to grow livestock to slaughter, add in a hidden tax, then round out numbers. Then from there find out how much an untrained laborer needs to survive. Ale will have to be part of the equation, because anyone drinking water is in for a fun time.
>>52744780
Quit assuming I'm posting F-List shit. You stirring drama is on the same tier as ERP posters, if you want to stoke real discussion then do it. Go ahead build anon's character, it's a fucking alchemist, there are actually guides that break down the entire spell list and feats, with color codes so a retard could do it.
>>52744771
Path of war is good for swordmasters, yeah. especially warlords if you want to play up the arrogant angle.
Sorcerer 7. Varisian tattoo for +1 CL to necromancy. Do I have caster level 7 or 8 for the purpose of determining my HD limit on Animate Dead? What about a temporary boost to CL like deathwine, death knell, or obedience to Urgathoa?
And if I was sorc 4/cleric 3/mystic theurge 1, I would have two growing pools of HD for animate dead, correct?
>>52744792
You want to be playing either a Warlord or a Warder, focusing on going down the Scarlet Throne Style feat chain and Scarlet Throne discipline. Look at the Landsknecht and start mapping out when you want to grab the feats necessary for that class.

Man I really don't get prestige classes/divine feats that don't actually have to do with divinity.
Like how come Shelyn worshippers are somehow the only people who can know how to be dex fuckers with a glaive.
Or Gorumites being the only people who can use greatsword battler. There's no divine magic going on here! Same with Brewkeeper. There's nothing stopping some Euphoric motherfucker from making magic liquor.

Yeah, I'm assuming the setting is likely to be a generic fantasy setting and I doubt my GM is all too worried about which deity I'm following. I was thinking the standard Vivisectionist/Beastmorph build would be best, but I'm worried that the playstyle won't mesh well with Brewkeeper and I'll end up worthless for anything but roleplaying.
>>52744807
That was great advice, but it's not really something I would bother with as a 1st level character, nor is it a build I can plan around.
>>52744823
Like I said, mostly I just don't want to be useless to the group. I feel like a handful of alchemist features don't really fit the character I'm looking to play, but those same features seem like they're fairly important to the prestige class I want to build into. As a first level alchemist your options are:
Fight in melee, Mutagen.
Bomb.
Occasionally use a heal.
All of these options require you to do absolutely nothing special. They come as part of the package for being an alchemist. Sure, you can optimize for one, but your optimization isn't going to be that meaningful.
>>52744932
You're half right, Vivisectionist doesn't mesh well, though beastmorph would be great.
If you're worried about fluff, why don't you just include in the backstory that, after observing how they carried and transported the pit-fighter drugs, you figured that if you were to add stuff or break their containers a certain way they'd be dangerous, so you started to use thm as makeshift bombs during your escape, and just perfected the recipe later to make sure you weren't captured again.
But yeah, as for archetypes, I guess you could either double down on your support role and take Chirurgion, or go Beastmorph or Trap Breaker for offense

Where's the build advice? I'm perfectly open to advice that could work for the character I'm trying to make, but a standard optimization guide on how to deal the most possible damage as an alchemist does absolutely nothing to help me.
>>52745030
I understand, but it's not like I can go back and change everything when I finally make the switch to Brewkeeper and my character is garbage because I didn't plan ahead well enough. I don't want to take the best possible traits/feats/etc. for playing a melee/mutagen build alchemist only to have to completely shift focus a a few months from now. I don't need to be the best at everything, but I'd also rather not play a character that's only sort of good at anything it tries to do.
>>52745046
I think flavor-wise Vivisectionist could work if I really played up how sneaky/ruthless he had to be to escape. Nothing in his backstory is set in stone so I can change it however and whenever I want up until the first time we play, which probably won't be for another week or two.
Your bombs idea sounds good, I'll have to think about it some more.
Chirurgeon is pretty awful though, right? Everything I've read seems to be pretty adamant in advising against it.
>>52745122
This is really helpful. I'll try to remember it for when I'm far enough along to be able to afford them. Can you help me understand touch spells a little more? What sort of touch spells would I have access to as an alchemist? Would I be able to pass on splash weapons entirely and just use touch spells, or are they not reliable enough?
Also, what do you think about the Eldritch Poisoner archetype? I hadn't noticed it until just now. Is it something that could work well with a build like this?
>>52745267
No its more that you're just bitching and whining because you can't read a guide.

>>52745267
What kind of help do you need? Take 18 int, take 14 con, what's left take some dex. What else could you possible need for level 1?
Do you want to throw bombs? If so the guide accurately lays out stuff good for bomb throwing.

You misunderstood my advice. You can start building for a brewmaster now, because everything the Alchemist starts with enough random stuff to get you through levels 1-5 just by default unless you give yourself negative strength and int mods. You don't NEED to optimize for anything at level 1 unless your GM is specifically trying to kill you.

>>52745299
Okay, then you have two choices. You either craft alchemical items and throw them, later investing in Poisoner's Gloves and casting your infusions through them. Or you play a Mutagenic Mauler Fighter, which has no bombs, and see if your DM will let you count Item Mastery spells as qualification for Brewkeeper. If so, you grab the Item Mastery feat as soon as you can, then go into Brewmaster. If not, fuck it; you have character concept down from level 1.
Brewmaster is built around the exact opposite of what you seem to want to do, which requires lateral thinking or dropping the PrC.

Also, you don't need to plan ahead for the PrC, it literally just buffs your ability to use Infusion discovery, and do some more debuffing, which is WHAT THE BASE ALCHEMIST IS GOOD AT ALREADY YOU COCKSTAIN.
>Chirurgeon is pretty awful though, right? Everything I've read seems to be pretty adamant in advising against it.
Its okay, it does a decent job of providing healing options for very little cost. Its only seen as not great because in terms oc combat it pales in comparison to a Beastmorph, but in terms of being able to do heals and support its decent and more of a sidegrade to the alchemist than a downgrade. Then again you could figure this out had you just read the archetype and tried thinking for yourself
>What sort of touch spells would I have access to as an alchemist?
Holy shit you literally are retarded! Alchemists don't get Touch Spells. That option is for people going into the PrC who aren't Alchemists who can use bombs. Or you could just through either a feat or dip grab arcane mark as a cantrip and apply it through that.

Here's a Starfinder campaign setting pitch
>Squid Aliens from Andromeda decide to visit the Milky Way for shits and giggles
>Go to Earth because it looks interesting
>Study it for a century or two
>Get bored, grab the most interesting animals and creatures
>it's all a bunch of varieties of homo sapiens, along with various animals and creatures native to Eurasia and Africa
>They take a few thousand of each home with them to Andromeda
>Some folks decide, "hey these things are kinda cute, let's keep them as pets and servitors"
>and so they do
>they mix and match up all the genes and create all these different varieties of animal-human hybrids
>They're godlike squid aliens, fuck you, it's science
>They eventually settle on a few different designs
>"Hey, yknow, those "human" things mix well with anything, let's use those as a base for these experiments"
>And so the godlike squid aliens made a bunch of animal-eared humanoids, mixing and matching the various members of the homo genus
>Some of these godlike squid aliens object to this
>This causes a civil war
>Godlike squid beings end up killing each other to death
>A few of the objectors grab up the human-animal hybrids and distribute them across the planets that were terraformed to help them survive
>In order to ENSURE survival, the squid god aliens gave them all psychic powers of varying strengths, and supercharged their physical abilities to help them survive
>Then all the squid aliens die and now there's a bunch of primitive animal people with psychic powers all spread across the galaxy
>Fast-forward a million years or so
>Most species are spacefaring
>Advanced "wizardry" is used in conjunction with technology to facilitate rapid expansion
And... that's it. I had a setting document somewhere but I forget where it was, and my memory is super fuzzy about it.
I swear I had these ideas FAR before ME: Andromeda, and a little before Starfinder was a thing, but Starfinder discussion got me thinking about it.

This. Alchemists are very versatile and dependable. You don't need to throw bombs to be good, just drink a Mutagen, get a decent weapon, and hit things. Long Arm, Enlarge Person and (Shock) Shield make you a low level terror.
The thing about Alchemist touch spells is this: anything on their list can become one thanks to Poisoner's Gloves. You have a few shots a day, and now people get a Fort save, but Reduce Person, Polypurpose Panacea (Hallucination or Intoxication), and Adhesive Spittle are go to at Spell Level 1st. Skinsend and Blood Blaze for Spell Level 2nd.
There is also a feat that lets Alchemists take spells from the Sorcerer/Wizard list, like Frostbite, Shocking Grasp, or Bestow Curse. Those would not require Poisoner's Gloves to function, IIRC.
The N.Jolly Guide to the Alchemist goes very in depth on the workings of the Alchemist, and I believe it would help immensely here.

>>52745757
Why is this bard trying to fascinate me.
>tfw can't decide on race for my next character
>tfw stuck between Human and Scaleheart Skinwalker
On the one hand, Human is the statistically superior option due to feats and Scalehearts having a penalty to Wis (my main casting score)
But on the other, Scaleheart is just so flavorful for my Sargavan Spiritualist/Sentinal, and I can work the whole thing pretty well into her backstory. Also, dat scaly booty
Man, this is hard.

Do you know how long coming up with the gold for Poisoner's Gloves is likely to take? I'm sure it varies by campaign, but at the very least I'd like to know if I'll be able to have them by the time I meet the prerequisites for playing a Brewkeeper.
>feat that lets Alchemists take spells from the Sorcerer/Wizard list
Do you happen to know the name of the feat or where I can find it? If not that's okay, just figured I'd ask.
>The N.Jolly Guide to the Alchemist
I've had that one open just about the entire time I've been working on my character. It can just be a little confusing at times because there's so much information. Sometimes it's hard to tell how much of the guide is applicable to the character I'm trying to build, and how much of it isn't.
For example, that guide suggests that the Chirurgeon archetype isn't very good, while autism elemental up there seems to think it's just fine. Lots of conflicting information.

Ssalarn was head of the Akashic team.
And Akashic has some fun stuff in it.. It's just, any GM flexible enough to let you play Akashic is almost certainly letting you play PoW/SoP which are just.. better.
Daevic: If I invest literally everything I've got, I can get a 6d6 vital strike at level 6!
PoW: If I invest one stance, I can get a 6d6 vital strike at level 6! With a whole bunch of other cool stuff. And I probably won't be using that trick because I've got better ones.
While we're on the topic of Alchemists, anything gestalt especially well with Construct Rider, or is it just "pick something INT-based and don't take trap options?"

>>52746170
Good question. I'm still looking for a review of Fairy Voltron.
So far I've gotten the good advice that I should get a Familiar to represent a Fairy splitting off from the group.
And I'm expecting I need to get some magic for comfies. I'm thinking Alteration representing an individual fairy turning the conglomerate into a giant version of their body for funzies.
>>52746170
Are Japanese people low on grip? How do we save them?

What? I'm just being honest.
>>52746195
I'm waiting for him because I'm pretty sure Ecaterina is an arse app but I don't know why exactly she's arse nor how to fix her without rewriting a new character from scratch.

>>52746195
I don't like brown.
She's too jarring compared to the other fairies and the silliness of the concept as a whole.
>>52746222
Well, I think you asked a loaded question so I'm not going to answer that.
Btw, don't rely so heavily on the thoughts of one "reviewer" anon. Just look at you app, and I mean take a good look at it and see what makes her a bad character, and then start trimming the fat.
If you think she's arse then she probably is. Your subconscious is reach out to you and telling you that much at least.
>>52746222
For which game?
>>52746211
Isn't it the literal inverse? Psychic is an attempt at stealing the Psion's fluff and sticking it on a regular hated fullcaster.
Occultist is totally different fluff that brings incarnum mechanics to Pathfinder.

You mean like the ones people already gave you?
Wtf is going on in this thread?
>>52746222
Here's what I think: being a wraith is cool but you've fallen into the trap of letting the wraith thematics carry you and give you tunnel vision away from making a compelling and multifaceted character.
Her entire motivation and personality, according to the app, at the moment is
>Revenge
>Anger
>Betrayed
>etc
Which doesn't paint a very fun picture of her as a party member. You've just created a more or less standard once-human vengeful spirit archetype: you need to think of what more to give her to stand out as a PC.Hi fellow GMT+8 anon
>>52746032
>I like this image but I feel like the captions really hurt the quality. You should try to find one without any captions,
I made those captions. It was for a thread a while back, and I made it because I was board.
I make a lot of crappy image macros on /tg/. This one so far is my favorite
>>52746232
I can understand that, but I wanted someone who could snark at the other's expense. And then the character grew a bit more than I expected based on the picture I found.
>>52746294
Occultist mechanics share ONE mechanic with Soulmelds, which is 'I put points in items to gain passive benefits'.
But where soulmelds frequently grant you new and fun abilities, Occultist abilities are 'you don't have to buy X magic item'. And where an Occultist spends their mental focus, a soulmelder doesn't expend their essense in all but the rarest cases.
Also, where the implements for the Occultist are only what you make of them, flavor wise, the Soulmeld type come with prebuilt fun names and lore. And what you pick actually matters beyond just schools.
>>52746350
I would post more of my crappy shoops, ut its getting late, and I need to sleep
>>52746341
Yeah I'm seeing that problem too but like I'm drawing a blank on how to expand her character. I have a really cursory "she wants to be comfy again" thing but I just don't know what to add to a wraith beyond more and more anger. She can't possibly desire wealth, nor sex, nor eternal life, because she has no use for the first, the second is impossible, the third she already has. The only things I'm seeing are "knowledge", which is pretty generic, and "rulership", which is even more generic.
>>52746353
I'd say swap her out with a sarcastic pessimist character instead, like a slightly more well adjusted Eeyore or Marvin, but have her just as naive as the others.
>>52746371
Well I don't want to be mean but it's just very hard to see how an insane ghost can be a long term PC
>>52746371
Build more on things like your kinship with Fey and Kobolds. Other things that you still have. Do you do flower arrangement? Do you set up elaborate suntan set-ups despite not being able to enjoy them anymore?
You don't necessarily need that many more goals other than "Vengeance""Get comfy back", but you do need more personality traits than that.
>>52746410
Nah I probably realized that myself, that's why I said she's arse.
>>52746411
Aight working on it, thanks for the help.
>>52746305
Well I just read your app, and I definitely think that you could scrap the story up and build a more solid foundation. The random wraith sort of just idly wandering by and happening to kill her doesn't really make for good story telling (even if that how you try to explain how she turned into a wraith.)
In my opinion I think you should give her more pathos and focus on that. Wraiths are created in death because they experienced a very tragic and emotional death, especially if they still had something left to do. If you want to do a wraith right focus on the her pathos, focus on how she died in a way that makes sense for her to come back as a wraith.
If this sounds too much of a serious concept for you to field in overlewd, then perhaps a wraith is not the right kind of character to bring out.
But I can see a spin that involves love lost and trying to find it again. I mean... you're a ghost so sex really isn't much of an option. I mean, I guess you can be a pervy voyeur but, eh.
>>52746322
Oh yeah, these would be awesome. I can post an app if I've got Sun gods or LE gods to work with!

Anyone have input on either of them?
>>52746451
Gunsmoke Mystic or a Gunwitch Spellburst Savant.
>>52746427
It's not even just to explain why she's a wraith, it's also an effort to explain why she isn't a fully featured one but I'll see if I can figure something out.
>>52746451
Spellslinger is really only good as a dip for a blaster Sorcerer.
>>52746459
Sorry, the reason I was asking about these two in particular was because my GM only allows 1pp, sorry.
>>52746468
Well that's besides the point, you used it as a way to explain how she became a wraith and I'm saying that it wasn't a very good one.
Try something more personal and less random chance. I think you can really do away with the beginning gnoll bit.
But to be honest, ask yourself if a wraith is right for the game. Especially if you're going for a dark tone. If not, try turning the concept on it head and make fun of it like a satire.
>>52746511
>only 1pp
How horrifying
Probably Eldritch Archer magus
>>52746511
Wizard (Spellslinger), but only if you can convince your GM to throw away Mage Bullets
>>52746371
Hmm... this is certainly interesting, and has no easy answer; but here's how I'd solve it.
1. Figure out what her motivations were while she was alive. Many undead, specifically ones that retain their intelligence, often have twisted and warped views of their earlier goals. This should give you an idea of what she wants now.
2. As someone else mentioned, Wraiths aren't necessarily formed by attacks from other Wraiths; they're also formed from incredibly painful and torturous deaths, during which all hope is lost. That's far more interesting.
3. I'd change the bit with her colleagues. It's a good moment to show her transformation, so rather than having a standoff, she attacks them immediately, unable to remember why she shouldn't, and why she cared.
4. Expand on the religious angle. Converting from a goddess of light and healing to one of darkness and pain should be a fascinating process, but it's not touched on at all.
I need this item in my life. What's a good game to apply to that would allow for some good suggestive dancing opportunities?

Ever since Overlewd showed up /pfg/ has suddenly decided that there's something wrong with revenge motivations, but in fact it's a pretty good motivation in a game like this where the plot revolves around a new government that's shit on all sorts of very dangerous people
>>52746593
Revenge is a clear motivation but it's not an interesting one.
Especially here where it's a low hanging fruit.
Same with PLD and how apps that were just 'lived normally, them someone close fucked up with a tome and now your life was flipturned upside down' became bog standard
>>52746639
But Anon, that was a requirement of the campaign! We had to use that as a part of the origin story. Common threads don't prevent you from having fun.
I always forget the Numeria is right the fuck next to Brevoy. That's so fucking stupid, but I figure people may as well take advantage of it. There need to be more robot hunter apps in Blingmaker. Maybe some insane Technologists.

Like,
Being a tengu is usually a distinct character trait that makes you stand out
But then if there's a campaign with the rule
>Everyone must be a tengu
Then if you make a character whose main gimmick is 'tengu' and their motivation is 'typical tengu stuff' then you're falling flat
>>52746709
Brevoy is also right next to Galt, right across the Lake of Mists and Veils from Mendev, and has Iobaria to exploit.
None of that is ever brought up in Kingmaker or otherwise.
