So... can I get the All-Black the Necrosword in the Marvel Jump? You know, to stop the large amount of genocide before it starts.

What jumps offer perks can I use to power up mundane followers that aren't companions? Also, what perks give power from having a lot of followers?

I try and stop in The Avengers every Chain for uru power armor. Any other jumps where I can get comparable power armor? Uru seems like it'd be top tier if you're a good enough enchanter.

Haven't made much more progress and probably won't for a little while since my hardest exam is next week. After that it's pretty much a drift downhill and I'll be completed done by the first week of April.

So it /shouldn't/ be more than a month at the absolute most.

In Sins of a Solar Empire, I converted planets into spaceships using nano-matter-conversion technology.
... well, it's really less that I converted planets into spaceships, and more like, "I transformed a large segment of the planet into thrusters, and then built a shit ton of ridiculous power generators to fuel it, and then stuck a sortof basic steering system on it, and I let the rest of the planet just be, like, a planet."

Like, have you ever seen that one episode of Invader Zim? With the Face of Mars? Or the Butt of Mercury?
It was kinda like that.

Anyway, after that we'd just fly the planets into stuff like a battering ram, and nobody else... really knew how to deal with that.

Changelog

Elaborated on some perks and drawbacks, and added this nifty thing. I'm not too sure of the price, but it's undiscounted.

Candy World Door (300 CP)
This strange door appears in your warehouse upon purchase. It’s a chocolate bar-like door (Any attempts to eat it are impossible, the door is too hard to bite into or melt no matter what). But behind it is the door to the Candy World. A whole world made of candy, with all that entails. Yes. Everything is literally made out of sweets in it. It’s delicious. In-jump, it will function as a portal to the Candy World, however after the jump, a small chunk of the Candy World will follow you from world to world. It can be accessed through the chocolate door. It’s a small town sized chunk, but it’s got all the necessary geographical features to access the Candy World. Somehow.

What MTG setting do you want a jump for?
>Alara (Either before or after Conflux.)
>Homelands (Who am I kidding it's basically Ravenloft.)
>Mirrodin (Glistening-Oil-Free)
>New Phyrexia (Now with 100% more Compleation!)
>Ice Age (Dominaria, but really fucking cold.)
>Fiora (Conspiracy)
>Ravnica (Back when guilds were still cool.)
>Zendikar (Before the Eldrazi and the Jacewatch fucked things up.)
>Theros (Did something with gods happen here, story wise? Just kidding, idgaf.)
>Lorwyn/Shadowmoor (Either before or after the cycle ended.)

Am I missing any interesting periods of MTG lore that we dont' have jumps for?

Needs must
1. A means of Time Travel. (Suggest something that actually goes back in time but nothing closed loop as that stuff won't work.)
2. A means of locating All-Black before Gorr kills the unnamed god who has it. (There are tons of scry spells throughout the Jumps)
3. Kill unnamed god and soak the sword in it's blood. (Gorr managed it as a human but I'd err on the side of coution and say he was at least at the Avenger's Power range.)
4. Profit.

Besides "not getting hit", is there any way to defend yourself against the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception?
>>
Jumpers!

If you've done the Sburb jump yet, what was your title/Classpect did you have?
>>
>>52707881
Having very convoluted symbolism to your death to make your lines fucking weird and difficult to properly cut. Being long lived (or truly ageless) in order to make your lines and point of death smaller. Being immune to Death.
>>
>>52707886
Last chain it was Sylph of Breathe.

I'm thinking Knight of Heart for this one.
>>
How many companions do you have? Do you all fill different roles?
>>
>>52707881
Immunity to instant death is solid start. FFTA Ribbion might cover that, but there are others.

As the Eyes are Magical (Psychic but in nasuverse both of them are manifestations of magic oddly enough) being utterly immune to magic would make it so the dude can't see your lines.

As >>52707906 says you can symbolically tie your life to things and that apparently does weird shit to your lines. Whenever we get a reliable source of Dark Steel from MtG get a suit of that stuff, it literally can't be broken from what I understand.
>>
>>52707821
>A means of Time Travel. (Suggest something that actually goes back in time but nothing closed loop as that stuff won't work.)
Time-travel in Marvel doesn't change anything. It creates a braching timeline, Dragonball style.
>>
>>52707881
Yeah, there are plenty of perks and items that defend against instant death effects.
>>
>>52707977
Unless it doesn't, because comics are often inconsistent.
>>
>>52707881

I think Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced and Death Note have things that grant instant death immunity, which I think should work.

The Mystic Eyes of Life Perception from Kara No Kyoukai would let you see where it's safe to get hit since the lines of life and the lines of death are in the same place.

Also while it negates healing type regeneration you can still regenerate by recreating the damaged body parts.

The antagonist of Kara No Kyoukai also gained a high level of resistance to it do to a combination of origin nonsense and adding one of the Buddha's bones to their body.

There are a few other beings in the setting with better resistance to the eyes (and even immunity), but I'm not sure how you would replicate their capabilities.
>>
>>52707689
I'm fond of Ringworld rockets. You make a Ringworld, right? Classic Larry Niven stuff. Then you string it up with superconducting cables along the whole length. It spins around the star, the cables move through the star's magnetosphere, and they pick up charge. You use that to pinch the star's plasma, focus it like a rocket thruster. Then you can fly the star around as a single giant ship.
>>
>>52707993
>and adding one of the Buddha's bones to their body.
On a related note, is Jesus a thing in the Nasuverse? Does he have some weird metaphysical stuff?
>>
>>52707886
Heir of Void. Being protected by nothingness and possibility makes for some weird effects, very useful for my build.
>>
>>52707886
Knight of Time, because it's my actual Classpect.
>>
>>52707789
I'd like the Otari cycle stories. Those were cool, had some neat ideas in them. Also, it would give me the chance to cleanse the Mirari before it gets all glistening oiled up, prevent New Phyrexia.
>>
So can we get a Dark Horse Jump to go with our DC and Marvel Jumps?
>>
>>52707886

Haven't done the Jump, but I did coincidentally just get done figuring out what I would pick, and that's Maid of Blood. I'm still not completely clear on Sburb stuff, but it seems neat and this Classpect in particular greatly appealed to me.
>>
>>52707789
>New Phyrexia (Now with 100% more Compleation!)

Coming very soon, but still cause for excitement.

Plz, yes.

>Lorwyn/Shadowmoor (Either before or after the cycle ended.)
Fuck, yes.

>Am I missing any interesting periods of MTG lore that we dont' have jumps for?
Weatherlight Saga? Fighting off old school Phyrexia, Slivers, and a planeswalking ship.

Odyssey/Onslaught/Mirari Saga? Loads of shit going on, the Mirari doing shit, Akroma being created, Jeska becoming Phage, them turning into Karona...

Their are a few minor references, but not much direct information.

However the Church has one of the largest 'magic foundation', and can somehow do magic like stuff from faith.

Thief of Light.

Sometimes I use it as a title in jumps, specifically because it sounds all edgy and dramatic and conceptual... when in reality it's just shorthand for "I'm too lazy to do my own research or be important on my own, so I piggyback off other peoples' success".
Which I don't tell people.

Although, you really have to pick and choose what jumps to roll out a title like that, because while it sounds totally awesome in, say, a Fate jump, or maybe Drakengard, if you try to pull that shit in somewhere like Robocop they'll call you an idiot. And if you try that in Batman, they just ban you from Home Depot.
>>
>>52708375
Gorr's argument was that Gods deserved to die for their inaction. Active Gods wouldn't have to die, but Gorr was a madman so he went too far. Argument comes down to a Responsibility thing at that point.
>>
>>52708269

Thief of Void. I make things by nicking off with their nonexistence, then get rid of things by putting that nonexistence in other people's pockets.
>>
>>52708375
Anon, I can do a lot of things, but making Marvel's current writers have more talent than the average FF.net writer is not one of them.

>>52708408 is probably right, but it's still a pretty dumb excuse.
>>
>>52708456
It takes killing all the gods to kill a world. You can have entire pantheons wiped out and still have a spark of life left in the world, the reason Old Galactus is after Earth is that it still has some life left in it and that's hinted to be because Thor Odinson is staying there. The fire only snuffs out after the last god is dead, before that it's reversible.
>>
Hey guys, I'm making a list of useful perks for every category I can think of so I can have something to recommend whenever someone asks.

Do any of you have a favorite perk, or just one you just think is really good for some reason?
>>
>>52708481
The idea of worlds without gods dying is stupid anyway.
>>
>>52707886
I haven't been there yet, mostly because the whole SBURB game scares the pants off of me to consider actually going through. I know it's probably not as bad as it looks on the outside... but damn.

Anyways, I know I'm going to be something associated with Heart. The sheer amount of Soul-based/-affecting magic I have hidden under the hood makes that pretty obvious. Which class though would probably depend on my mindset when I finally take the Jump though.

If I'm still on a positive bend, probably Rogue or Knight.
If I'm starting to go a little soul, Thief or Witch seems more likely.

Raven, on the other hand, is pretty solidly a Sylph of Space unless something drastic happens. I have no idea who is going to end up with the Time Aspect. I certainly don't want that job. Maybe Marceline.
>>
>>52708497
So Gods are needed. Even if just one you actually need Gods to keep a world alive. So Gorr is fundamentally wrong.
>>
>>52708530
Not really. Gods and their like are made by the lifeforce of a planet. They are a naturally occurring part of the Marvel universe.
>>
>>52708563
Best part is that Gorr became a god himself. That's how he was defeated.
>>
>>52708583
And that's fucking dumb.
>>
>>52708593
Why?
>>
>>52708583
Then in that case, I will create a planet in that setting and rub it in everyone's faces that Gorr was totally right and that gods are inherently awful and deserving of death. Because fuck that stupid 'gods are necessary' garbage.
>>
>>52708645
>Universe with different metaphyics than ours.
>S-stupid!

>>
How do 'magic systems' from Highschool DxD work?
Do I pick a theme for each purchase like water, fire, time, etc.
Can I pick a theme that's around somethiing that my sacred gear also is potent at like souls?
How exactly do magic systems work.
>>
>>52708671
No, because it's not the gods that bother me, but the idea of anything being necessary at all. Why the fuck does air exist? So that people can breath? Fuck that, I'm going to make a world where people don't have to breath, then I'm going to destroy all the air in the entire universe, and make fun of the lesser existences as the suffocate. Because fuck them, I'm a spiteful, vindictive asshole.
>>
>>52708682
The human magic system I believe works with math and equations, the devil system works more with desire, see Issei and his techniques.

"You know my methods" from Sherlock Holmes is my favorite perk. We have tons of jumps that give you ample opportunities to work with extremely talented individuals, even drawbacks that force you to work with the protagonists, so you'll end up learning a lot from the people you meet.

I want to imagine a climatic final battle at the end of the chain, where jumper is fighting some world eater or something, and jumper is calmly countering everything that's thrown their way, with a Slumdog Millionaire style story, for each and every attack, explaining why they know how to counter that technique.
>>
>>52708722
Replace all the Air with Water instead no air tanks will help them now.
>>
>>52708563
I think Gorr is right in killing evil or useless gods, they don't really deserve worship, power, and respect. Killing goodly deities is retarded, though, obviously.
>>
>>52708515
I really like Buy Menu from Counter Strike. It's in my opinion one of the best perks in the entire chain. Training Takes Time is useful too. Anything that makes money more useful is amazing and really interesting to me. At the same time, anything that gives tons of money is worthwhile.
>>
>>52708807
Thing is you need both really. You need evil gods so that you can have good gods. Now useless gods, sure that should be fair game.
>>

This is a universe where a survivor from a previous reality was turned into a cosmic entity that has to eat planets to survive, because if they die an entity that exists to destroy the multiverse will be freed. Meanwhile the embodiment of creation and destruction regularly possesses and or becomes human girls. Their are space-time rewriting artifacts that seem to be everywhere. Oh and finally you have incarnations of fundamental aspects of reality with nowhere near the durability that they should have for cosmic entities.

No you don't. Fuck moral relativism and fuck this retarded, castrated version of dualism. It's completely idiotic. The original dualistic religion, Zoroastrianism, even talked up how it was good people's duty to team up and help Ahura-Mazda kill Ahriman and evil once and for all.

>>52708837
They run the full gamut. Most of the Asgardians are decent people, so killing any of them other than Loki is dumb.
>>
>>52708515
My favorite/strongest perks are:

Guitar Summoning(FLCL) gives you a flat +20% to all powers.

Numeral of the Saint(Fate/ Servant supplement) triples your power for a few hours a day.

By Your Powers Combined(Captain Planet) can create a being with any attributes or powers of yours, multiplied by 10.

Self Duplication(Teen Titans) gives a full powered clone, plus extra weaker ones.

Avatar(Generic Creepypasta) gives a full powered clone.

Descending Hierarchy and Heart and Soul(Exalted:Infernals) give two temporary full powered clones.

Pentacle(Bleach) gives you four temporary 2/3 power clones.

Infinity(Seven Deadly Sins) allows you to achieve a magical singularity by creating custom spells that massively boost your spell casting stat that only last a second, then extend them forever so that you can use your new better magic to cast a stronger version of the same spell, then repeat.

Fetish Souls have their own charms, but can be given use of the Primordials full charmset for a scene at a cost of permanent willpower, or a point of willpower that cannot be recovered for a month. A primordial is equivalent to their full charmset.

So that translates to being able to use Jumpers full power for short periods. He is assuming you take both perks and the Devil tiger equivalents to have 2 fetish souls

It's entirely founded on the concept of self-interest, senpai.

Seriously though, moral relativism is universally mocked.

And trying to attach different terms to good and evil doesn't change what they mean or represent, it's simply a method to try and seem superior to others.

Perks: Thundercat, Lockpicking, Stealth, Fluffy Tail, Silver Tongue, Harmonious Music, Luck, Supernatural Speed, Ancient Knowledge
Items: Old Cloak

There are a lot of problems here, and honestly, a lot of them can be solved by just letting the cats get what's coming to them. I'll save as many as I can during the lizard attack, maybe earn some passage by freeing those lizards I feel are wrongly punished beforehand. The real issues come with what happens after that.

Letting the world fall under Mumm-Ra's power just isn't a viable option, though. Now I have to find a way to disrupt as many operations of his as I can, probably through a coalition effort on the part of as many races as possible. There is a power vacuum that an organized effort could inherently take advantage of, especially if they had some nice magic rocks of some sort to help make up the difference. So, I'm going to war again, I guess. While secretly helping Lion-O rebuild his nation. I'm earning us Cats a place at the big boy table after years of actual oppression, and we need a leader that will be accepted by our scattered people.

Also, probably going to do something about this weird hatred of tails that makes no goddamn sense. Cats were weird, man.

Literally a person who has never actually bothered to think about the reasons why people actually act the way they do, and is incapable of recognizing that attaching moral grounding to a cold and uncaring reality is inherently meaningless.

Journal Entry # 47 - 1

Hey it’s actually a world I sort of recognize. I am kind of stricken by how rarely this happens. So I am kind of the backup everything here do to my eclectic set of skills. I have been helping to make and keep the suits working and thinking up upgrades and I am the extra person they call in when they need one in the field.

Journal Entry # 47 - 5

So I floated the Idea of maybe asking Arcuied and Yu to join as knight sabers. It got a thumbs down… They said it’s because they want to keep the operation small and it would take too much money to train and equip them… Well I guess I should be happy they aren’t giving me flack about my relationships. Technically I am not violating the no men clause.

Journal Entry # 47 – 8

So I saved another of Priss’ friends from death. I was able to give the sexriods both *repairs* read: entirely new bodies that are fully human. So I headed that off at the pass but damn it’s tough keeping the dead friend of the week alive. It’s like a job in and of itself. There was Linna’s friend who was almost assassinated by Gennon who we helped fake her death and the woman who tried to rush in to the building when they were tearing it down.

"Wind: A soft green glow indicates that you hold the Crystal of Wind, a lazy and visible breeze

you, changing a tornado into a softer wind - enough to make you push and stumble, but not
enough to sweep you away into the heavens. Upon slaying Tiamat and restoring the true
Crystal of Wind, using this Crystal will make you immune to damage and forced
movement from the cutting currents of air and wind magic, able to create and control
similar at will. It also provides you oxygen where there is none."

Only up to two Third Circles get that. Plus they need to give up a dot of willpower for a month to access them, and it only lasts for one scene (about 20 minutes).

Akuma can learn any perk you have, but they have to spend the time and experience learning them one by one, which is still probably faster than Sacrificial Bestowment but not by as much.

Ok I think you're missing something important here.
They just can "purchase" abilities in the way you would spend XP on charms.

Mardukth mentioned the more powerful abilities would get broken down into multiple charm purchases. Like Scourges dont get super speed with one purchase of the speed charm.

Also, charm have Essence requirements. You most powerful expressions of you abilities would have Essence requirements of 5+ before the Akuma could learn them.

Individually, each of those is a street level power. But more than one or two of them is really pushing it. And most of Batman's rogues ARE street level.
>>
>>52710468
I mean, maybe a monster with /all/ of that, but I'm assuming he meant only one or two because that's how much you can get there. None of those powers are street-level by themselves.

All of those powers are street level by themselves. Street level is literally just anything beyond human without smashing down buildings. The size buff alone is that because of the strength and durability it'd give.

>What would be the best way for an infernal to allow a normal person have higher essence caps? Besides the +1 for akumahood of course.
Actually, apparently even a formerly mortal akuma is far enough from human it no longer has the human Essance Cap.
> If the character was not an Exalt prior to becoming an akuma, her starting Essence is only 1. Raising it to 2 costs 5 bonus points. Raising it to 3 costs an additional 15 bonus points. A mortal-turned-akuma cannot begin with an Essence above 3 at character creation, but it can be raised further with experience.
>Essence above 3 at character creation, but it can be raised further with experience.

Equipment. There's a reason not every space setting is automatically classed a planet-buster by popular opinion, despite any space faring civilization being able to make relativistic weaponized anythings. I find it really weird how Misaki is a Level 5. All she does is fuck with people's brain chemistry, and she has to have a massive exo-brain doing all the calculations for her to make her power useful on more than one person. Even then, it still doesn't work one people like Misaka, who have some mechanism preventing their brain meat from being fucked with.
>>
>>52710609
No that's just why people complained about gantz in general.
I remember dissapointment with its quality and then since the maker just dropped it and left instead of sticking around to do some fine tuning it was forgotten.
>>
>>52710638
Level 5 is a category with a great deal of variance, it goes from her to Misaka all the way to fucking Accelerator.

>>52710661
Sogita's actually worse then Misaki, because at least she's amazing even on one person, where he's pretty meh with just a lot of variety.
>>
>>52710661
But most of them are at least pretty up there in power level. Kakine can create his own unique form of matter, Gunha can do whatever the fuck he wants, Meltdowner can do her crazy laser shit, Misaka can create a railgun out of fucking anything if she stops holding back, by comparison Misaki just seems a little weak with her controlling brain chemical secretions.

Misaki is basically mind control and mind rewriting and mind reprogramming though. And pretty good in scale for each of them, just not quantity of targets.

>I'm pretty sure it's a rule in Exalted that a mortal can never go above Essence 3 without becoming some kind of supernatural creature.
Yes, but think about why, and what they are becoming, and who is making the change.

Most things in exalted don't have that essence cap. The Primordials don't. Gods don't. Elementals Don't. Demons and Devas don't. Behemoths don't. Ghosts don't. Even the Dragon Kings only have charms up to E6, but can raise essence higher.

Humans were created as prayer batteries. that's it. They were either intentionally limited to that level, or more likely the primordials that created them just didn't bother to include support for essence levels 4-10 since they didn't include any native charms for them, or any requirement for them to use essence at all.

So when they raise essence that high their nature shifts along line of something that can support that higher essence.

And here is the human being changed into akuma by the beings who created them, to make them able to wield their power. And they have support for essence for E10. So the back end support for E10 is there now, and any build in limit removed by the ones who placed it. Akuma having the technically the same E10 cap as most things in the setting makes more sense.

It's not just you using your own blood to write it down that kills you; after finishing a section, you'll try to kill yourself because 'it's impossible to complete'.
So what you really need is a both a healing factor AND something that makes you impervious to memetic effects and cognitohazards.

There's a perfect memetic immunity perk in Generic Creepypasta, and a decent memetic censor perk in the SCP jump itself, though that one might actually make you incapable of truly adding to the composition, since you need to be affected by it to work on it.

>>52711113
Depends. The protagonist from the first one, you could sort of self-insert too, but after that it becomes a lot harder. It's out right impossible in Persona 2, where both MCs have established personalities and character, as of now the Persona 3 and 4 MCs have some as well, with all the side material that came out, along with the games themselves.
>>
>>52711031
>>52711060
>>52711066

Actually technically it's not completely impossible. Time travel is a thing in the Persona series that occurs in at least three of the games.

Meanwhile the Persona jump doesn't mention what the threat your facing is. So you could decide that your threat is something that lead to you having to act as help from the future to counter them.

Sure it's a kind of nonsensical and complicated solution, but it's not completely implausible.

The bigger issue is that unless your super lucky (or have stuff from other jumps) the Persona jump is probably more dangerous than what the perks would let you deal with even without drawbacks.
>>
>>52711116
Nope. Whatever made you think that? And this isn't sarcasm, btw, just to be clear.

How? Why? Which jump?
>>
Hey guys, I'd appreciate it if you could look this perk over. It's pretty damn wordy because I'm basically trying to sum up Marvel's magic (or the interpretation I'm using for the jump at least) as best I can. If it's too long for a single perk then I can move parts of it to the notes instead.

Also, please excuse any glaring grammatical fuck-ups, I typed it on my phone when I could find some extra time.

Sorcerous Schooling (300 CP, Free for Sorcerer): You've had some basic tutoring in magic, granting you enough skill to throw around some spells. Magic is capable of an incredibly wide range of effects, accomplished through an equally diverse number of methods that can range from simply willing something to happen to sacrificing a virgin while chanting a poem as the planets align in a once-in-a-millenia event. However, the principles of most human magic falls under the the Three Fold Path, devised by Aggomoto, the first Sorcerer Supreme. The Three Fold Path involves drawing power from three primary sources for different effects.

The first of these sources is a sorcerer's personal reserves of magic, called Ego-Centric Magic or Arcanum Ego. One's own life and soul. The amount of power a mortal sorcerer can siphon from themselves without causing harm is relatively limited, but the advantage is that such power can be easily directed by will alone. As a result, the primary use of tapping into one's personal is utilizing various psychic powers. Peering into the minds of others or hypnotizing them with a glance is possible as is exerting one's will on physical objects or prying your spirit from your body to project into the Astral Plane. As a relative beginner in the Art, your strength in these powers will be fairly weak, but can be greatly improved with the right training. And do not think that just because these abilities are weak that they are not useful.

1/?
>>
>>52711447
No I was just wondering how that would even work internally, like if your body would instantly change from the massive surge in magic.

>>52711457
>>52711467
A very niche build in one of the nonexistent jumps. I was going through that drive to see what I was missing and the wording caught my eye.
>>
>>52711417
What >>52711445 plus analyzing song lyrics.
>>
>>52711479
The second source of magic is called Eco-Centric Magic or Arcanum Eco. This magic involves invoking the ambient mystical power of the dimension the sorcerer is currently in, usually through ritual, gesture, or incantation. This encompasses everything from simply drawing magic from the air to tapping into the leylines that cross the worlds. The effects that can be created by utilizing this type of magic is varied – perhaps infinitely so. Everything from conjuring and controlling the elements of nature to eldritch blasts and shields to transforming a man into a frog is possible so long as one knows the proper spells to do so. However, as these spells draw upon the energies inherent to a certain dimension and as such will often be less effective or not function correctly when a sorcerer finds themself in a different world. In addition, though these magicks are varied and powerful, there is a limit to the amount of power a sorcerer can gather and channel without the aid of artifacts or other powers.

>>
>>52711453
Sure, anon. Hide your kids, hide your wife, etc., etc.
>>
>>52711489
3/3

Which brings us to the third source of power available to those who walk the Three Fold Path, that of Exo-Centric Magic or Arcanum Exo. This method draws upon mystical beings or forces that dwell in other dimensions, known as the Principalities and Powers. A dangerous and advanced form of magic to those who have not mastered sorcery, but also a potent one. To invoke such a source of power, one must know precise and complicated gestures and incantations which will open a line of contact with the being or force in question after which one may channel to magical power gained into a desired effect. This could be an effect of its own or it could be used to simply enhance another spell, though for either the effect is often flexible, allowing the sorcerer to manipulate it to their will. Such power, however, does not come without due cost. By calling upon these otherworldly sources of powers, one accrues a mystical debt to the being in question, which they may one day come to collect...

Gods and Demons may also use any of these sources, but themselves have greater personal reserves than a mortal sorcerer, which they can invoke to more potent magic comparable to that of Eco or Exo Centric magic, depending on their own power.
>>
>>52711486
Also my math was wrong it was just a 10894361101x increase instead of 16341541652x, though I don't think there's some threshold in between there where you'd stop transforming.

The main antagonist is the spells themselves actually, they're all wild beings for bit and Sakura has to seal them using her wand. I believe it's the later. Basically burning out the capacity for bad things is bad in itself. You need a little greed to have wants and ambitions. You need a bit of Pride to have self-confidence. Stuff like that isn't something a little girl understands so she could potentially just lobotomize a person or they might end up being nice.

No idea with The Sword as it only cuts things, even if it cuts things incredibly well to the point that defenses mean nothing, but The Nothing is a massive void that exists to delete things on a fundamental level. Funnily enough most people forget it's not the little girl who is The Nothing, that's just the interface, The Nothing is that big black hole right behind her. The Nothing scares me because it's emptiness that spreads emptiness in an effort to fill the unfillable. The only thing that has proven to sate it is the boundless love of children who don't understand how to think love can be bad The Heart Card manifests this trait by the way.

Items: Baby Bat Nest, A Red Flower Garden Plot

I am the bunny monk and this jump has a goal: Get Quote through the best ending. But first I had to follow King through to the warehouse and rescue Toroko. Due to Nick of Time and Beggar's Belief we were able to get there quick enough to save her, and were teleported into the Labyrinth for our trouble.

It wasn't long until Quote showed up, though. I rode his head for the rest of the game and just kept buffing him with my magical/spiritual abilities. Pointing out little bits of advice, and doing my best to guide him from my memory of the game. I made sure to get Sue out of there before the Doctor could change her. Then we ran through hell together.

I'm staying the rest of the 10 years here helping the Mimiga set up on the surface. They took a few years to get used to the sun.

A Persona is enough to deal with most of the issues, but the majority of the threats are things you need a deus ex machina (a.k.a. being super lucky) to deal with. Meanwhile unless you get lucky you might not get access to that.

Persona has the antagonist use a reality warping machine to attempt to reach godhood that materialized the collective unconscious over the games location, and that was almost used to destroy reality. Meanwhile there's another threat occurring that plans on putting the world into eternal night.

This one is probably one of the two easiest to deal with.

For example Persona 2 has Nyarlathoteph destroy the world, and the world was only fixed do to a blatantly cheating deus ex machina.

Persona 3 has humanity's death with trying to get the source of all shadows to tear out everyone's minds to regenerate. Stopped only by deus ex machina, and humanity's death wish is still trying to end things. Oh and the true threat isn't discovered until it's almost too late to stop it.

Persona 4 had an idiot goddess that almost mind raped humanity into being shadows. Made fight able only by deus ex machina. Like before the true threat isn't discovered until it's almost too late to stop it.

Persona Q happens during Persona 3 and 4 do to time nonsense, and is then forgotten about. So it's more of a side quest.

Persona 4 Arena is probably one of the simplest, but the antagonist from that game is lame, and makes no sense. Like seriously how does an 'embodiment of the collective will of those that abandon all connections even work'?

Meanwhile even if you survive you lose if the threat changes humanity too much.

Which basically means you have to hope you figure things out before it's too late, and that you have enough luck to get a deus ex machina or that your facing one of the weaker threats.

>>52711371

On a side note my claims are assuming you take Persona before you have that stuff.

Thing is he's a bit slow on the uptake so even though the jump has technically been up for months he didn't see an opportunity until somebody put numbers to things.
>>
>>52711790
I'll do it right now so he can have something to be pissy about; Dirge was and is the best jump maker we ever had, and his jumps are all, universally, genuinely good.
>>
>>52711917
>implying people that shitpost about this shit even bother reading the jumps first
Too much investment for too little return. They don't actually play jumpchain remember.

>>
>>52711944
Not going to say you're wrong honestly. 1984 was a jump also, but beyond those two... it's difficult to find something that I can keep a focus on long enough to actually make a product that I'm satisfied with that I don't throw out at 90% completion, like I did to Streets of Rage. It just keeps feeling... bland?
>>
>>52711971
The lists got updated so he's bottom five now along with Wakfu, SoAnon, DDanon and Mommy, you need to get up to date with the /jc/ meme train.
>>
>>52711866

The problem is your not part of any plot line do to the game taking place after most of them. At least if you don't use then ever added + 0 drawback. If you do yeah that makes things a lot simpler.

If not their might not be an MC and their team to team up with.

Although after checking you don't need that never added drawback for Persona 5 since it's year is 20XX, or basically it doesn't have a listed year. So it could be 2014 (the year the jump puts you in).
>>
>>52711866
RAW, you have to make up your own apocalypse and plot to deal with since you're not supposed to interact with existing Persona stories. Which, sure, means you can softball yourself and have something a bunch of normal persona-users with no eleventh hour powerups can deal with. But I think that's besides whatever point anon is trying to make.

Although, he could presumably just make up a new wild card to solve the plot for him.

I know someone did this thing involving the archetypes of humanity (which where everyone's personae) manually holding down Nyarlathotep or some other scary thing for eternity, and people seemed cool with it.

Honestly though, I don't know how anybody can take shitposting Dirge seriously, when half the time it's just assholes saying they're bad and that everything about them should just be stripped out except the powers, and then the powers should be amped up because they're 'only' on the level of being balanced against the power level of the setting in general. The other half being attempted character assassination by spouting lies about how he's an asshole. It's such transparent shitposting, he might as well be attacking red and bitching about Bayonetta or some shit.
>>
>>52712124
No.
>>
>>52712124
You would utterly fuck what the intended value of points would be in several of them.
Some would work if you forced it even if you'd be running the easiest mode, but then you get jumps like the long live the queen and it just falls apart.
>>
>>52712139
That's basically what it boils down to.

Except people here ALWAYS. BITE. THE FUCKING BAIT.
>>
>>52712124

>>
>>52712139
If somebody has no clue who Dirge is the character assassination works well because it's nice to have somebody to shit on. It's like throwing pies at a clown. You have no clue who the clown is but throwing pies at them feels fun.

And then you get the weird memes like >>52712063 that come out of nowhere and make no sense. So that adds on to the whole thing about it all being one big meme. And that has never stopped anyone.
>>
>>52712124

Not really, no. The point structure was built around you having nothing to start out with, thus allowing things that would normally be more expensive to be obtained more cheaply, and drawbacks to be easier than the points they grant would suggest.

Jump #308: Dissidia
>Seven of Cups (Temptation), reversed: Daydreams and fantasies brought into realistic focus. The contemplation of many options leading to a conclusive choice.
>Age: 15
>Location: O̶l̶d̶ ̶C̶h̶a̶o̶s̶ ̶S̶h̶r̶i̶n̶e̶
>Identity: Wanderer of Cycles
>Scenario: The Whole Shebang (+700)
Oh this is going to be a lot of work. Well, in for a penny, in for a pound.
>Recognition of Repetition (Free, Wanderer)
This is a bit beyond simply being genre savvy. Seeing the constant patterns makes things pretty obvious when you start looking beyond the surface.
>Crystals of Power (1500, Wanderer)
Ooh, experience. These basically feel like crystals from the original FFT, in a way. Just raw XP. Makes for a quick way to empower people without the loss of knowledge that any other mucking about with crystals brings, at least!
>Inspiring Bravery (1200, Wanderer)
This seems a bit beyond the simple game mechanic, but useful. Doubly so considering that one can impart this skill into others.
>Banish Trap (1000)
Well, of course everyone who confronts me should come to know that they stand no chance once backed into a corner. Although a jumper is a man, it does not mean they are also not a force of nature.
>The Enigma (800)
Suddenly no one is able to recognize anyone by appearance alone! Second best Stranger power ever.
>Mythril Coating (600)
>Chaosbringer (300)
Curiously, Chaosbringer elected to merge with the Sword of Darkness, and the mythril coating does nice things for my MP recovery on top of it. It looks more like a rapier, now, but I'm not going to argue with the results.
>Warrior Potential (0)
Might as well bring along my companions too.
>>
>>52712505
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HOW DARE YOU
>>
>>52712505
I expected, based on things, that I'd end up having to find my way from the Chaos Shrine. And instead I woke outside a laboratory. Unexpected, admittedly, but not the first time something odd has happened. The revelation that the world I ended up in was a smaller part of another, in a sense, did make things a little bit more clear. The researcher, a man named Threnos, was very straight forward about the whole situation. It reminded me of having to deal with the nonsense of Gala and Arecia in fact - Cosmos and Chaos by any other name? - though I kept it to myself. Frankly, upsetting the apple cart in situations like these tends to be a thing I enjoy doing. No point starting unless I went all the way.

And so I set out to do precisely that. Being the person that I am at this point, the two manikins who were assigned to help me out in the task were given several power boosts from me directly, perhaps not to the same extent that Aeris got but they got apower-up due to taking my mark at the very least - and I saw to it that they got access to the magic system I've started weaving into every existence that I step foot in at this point. When they got to World B, one wanted to side with Cosmos, one with Chaos. My thoughts on the matter: why not side with both? There's outside interference stopping their showdown from coming to a conclusion, there's proof that there's a time loop of sorts, and though Chaos frowned more than a bit, I played it straight: they help us deal with the situation, and then they get to resolve their fight, with my support; Aemo and Morrow demonstrated rather significant talent with the magic I lent them, and social-fu was very useful toward getting a truce declared. Though I am quite literally only there in spirit while Aemo and Morrow worked my will physically. After all - why should I do anything for them when they haven't done anything for me? Though some fights were inevitable, neither side yet had a warrior fully vanquished, at least.
>>
>>52712527
Why is the character limit 2k. Argh.

After that... well, tracking down Cid was not as difficult as I thought, and he was open to quite literally ANY alternative to what he was dealing with. Not a fan of the Great Will, it would seem. Throwing him in a Moogle body would have been such a waste though... I gave him a properly resilient upgraded-human body to transfer into, after granting Aemo warehouse access and explicit instructions on what to do. (Thank you, Lords of Light, for that nice little boost in the past. It keeps proving useful.)

The gateways were the next task, and the warriors... mostly... did as they were told, aligning the gates to the rift with little infighting. Kefka attempted, once that was done, to defect to Shinryu only for Sephiroth to run him through, the first actual casualty of the twelfth cycle. Can't say I disapproved of that, though. Of course endless hordes of manikins poured out and Shinryu flew around the battlefield spitting out bullshit, before electing to summon his own duplicate warriors for a series of mirror matches. (Cloud opened up the absurd melee by cleaving the duplicate-Kefka in half, because he just wanted to one-up Sephiroth.)

Leaving aside the gritty details of the fight... it was apparently very cathartic for everyone to have the opportunity to face down themselves and/or their duplicate rivals and strike them down (at times with help FROM their actual rivals). Dealing with a Shinryu-possessed Chaos... well. Cid and Cosmos worked to weaken him, Aemo and Morrow engaged him and did their best to fight a delaying action until more of both sides' warriors started tagging in. In the end... well, it was a foregone conclusion. In the end, Chaos lived, and Cosmos and Cid stayed behind to help him recover.

Of course, while all of this was going on and I was there in spirit, I was definitely in the flesh in the other world. And it's a good thing that I can split my attention, all considered.
>>
>>52711882
Oh the first issue is out, sweet.
Damn it Waller, stop being a cunt.
>>
>>52712539
Dealing with Onrac was HILARIOUSLY easy... or at least seemed so at first. Crank up the Jumper Charisma to 11, leak in a bit of Eldritch Nightmare, meet with Onrac's leadership, and go, "Hey guys, I'm an entity from beyond the outer gates and screwing with the void will destroy your world, I keep seeing that happen and I've been trying to get it to STOP happening, but I don't want you to be screwed over completely so I tell you what. Stop spawning, close the vortexes, and here's some materia and a quick and easy way to make super soldiers that don't need external power." Also quietly pocket all their research while I can. Sure, it'll peeve some scientists, but since I'm actually incarnate here... I can send off clones of myself and perform mass-obliviations of the scientists that know anything so they'll never research this again. Heartless? Maybe. Necessary? You're god damned right.

Of course, some dumbass has to go 'no! we must use the super weapon!' and activate the void gate under Onrac's capitol, which is just flipping fantastic. Monsters pouring out? Don't care, alpha strike them and leave furrows in the pavement they walked on. Portal won't close? Don't care, I can stand here all day and enact wards to keep anything from passing while vaporizing anything within said ward every so often. More vortexes aside from the stable one keep appearing? Don't care, I'm the god damn Sylph of Space and I FIX IT. Only Cid could save us now, but he's gone, fled to the Wastes? Funny, I'm standing right next to him in the other world because I am effectively astral-projecting there.

"Hey, Cid? Idiots in the other world activated a giant portal under the castle in Onrac."
>"What."
"At about the same time that this one opened, actually."
>"WHAT."
"I kind of don't think it's a coincidence. I've been busy fixing shit over there actually."
>"ARE YOU INSANE."
"If you have to ask... anyway, can we talk coordinates?"
>"... sure. Why not. This day cannot get any weirder."
>>
>>52712489
Hey, whatever happened to that Super Omnipotence?
>>
>>52712556

Oh, and here come the Summoners, destabilizing my work with keeping the gate from expanding and consuming more of the capitol than just thae castle. Trying to reason with that failed, so they each get a Stupefy to the face to knock them out for the duration, and are left for the soldiers to deal with. Stupid summoners.

Stupid Shinryu.

Wait why is Shinryu coming through the portal and breaking my wards.

STUPID SHINRYU.

It's probably not the thing to do, to hit the portal gun, tunnel to the other universe, and shove all the warriors from there over here. But I do it anyway, and Shinryu gets his ass kicked back into the portal. Again.

And then, FINALLY, both the goddamn portals close-

why is there a portal opening over the ocean

I am so fucking done with this shit.

I fly out to the ocean in time to watch Omega Weapon get smashed to bits and see Shinryu retreating into another goddamn portal, or rather, a whirlpool. Which I promptly follow him into, no longer taking any shit, just going full Final Form and stomping through because I have had ENOUGH of today.

Oh look it's a spiral shaped fortress, isn't that cute. Smashing the manikin army does nothing to improve my mood, but I most definitely do not care. Nor do I care when I jump down into the abyss, smashing into the bottom and cracking it. The army of manikin who are supposed to stop me are dealt with via fiendfyre rather effectively, and dealing with Shinryu... well, a challenge to one on one combat puts a smile on my face for the first time that day.

And because I like to think with portals, I open one in front of myself as soon as I accept and fucking vaporize him with Sajuuk II's alpha strike because the void dragon is not prepared to deal with shit on this scale.

It might have also carved something of a path out of the planet in a straight line, which I use to leave.

And then I spend the next nine and a half fucking years on VACATION. I have earned this. I am freaking DONE.

The DC verse is better off without her. And for that matter, better off without infiltrators that you can't legally pin anything to, like G. Gordon Godfrey.

Main Chain:
Caster (The class they're most suited for), Beserker, Saber, possibly Avenger given how revenge was their #1 motivation behind personally fucking with each Grail War to spite the Einzberns during the Long War drawback in Fate/Zero.

Writer Chain:
Saber, Assassin (Stuck between this and Saber as the class Writer!Nika is most suited for), Caster, and Beserker

Writer Nika would not be a good servant fyi. Too lazy without proper motivation and fucking weak as hell. Would just sit around eating shit.

Companion Chain:
Assassin (Probably the best class for Companion!Nika because so much of the build I noticed is about luck and being really smart, definably a trickster archetype as well), Archer, and Saber. (Companion!Nika had Archer as their Demon Weapon in Soul Eater as a sword.). Possibly Caster later on once they master First Magic, but not right now.
>>
>>52712718
... I'm sorry for the copout answer, but looking at the chain right now? I'd have to say all of them to varying extent. Excluding Shielder, as it's very difficult to use a shield and anything else with one arm. I'd also say excluding Ruler as instead of leadership and such, I think Ruler involves some sorta dumb Grail bullshit? Regardless:

Saber - Jumper's grown expertise with either Janpaseiga in the early chain, or ToP's Eternal Sword now.
Lancer - Past and current Jumper's usage and mastery of the Burial Blade, although if current Jumper said burial blade / scythe is also chainsaws.
Rider - Firemane from FF12.
Caster - all the magic and all the fire bullshit, PLUS would be EX Item Creation.
Assassin - Way early chain was far more stealthy and subtle, also would involve a bit of shadow magic.
Berserker - WEREWOLF WEREWOLF WEREWOLF
Archer - Either the old gun-mode on the All-Hammer, or the Gun form on the Promethium Driver.
Brawler - There's always been a bit of a martial-arts-mastery theme going on, plus the stay at The Crucible in Exalted: Infernals would contribute to this particular legend.
Avenger - God there's so many spots in the chain where shit could've gone SO WRONG that would result in a potential Avenger / Alter showing of Jumper.

Tomoko's problem is mostly that she's stuck in a loop, so to speak. She has very little social ability, and relies a lot on dating sim stuff, which obviously gets her in trouble. She does try, but this combined with her own character flaws often ends up screwing her over. This, of course, means she's never able to grow or reach out, because every time she tries it ends in failure. Well, at least she has one friend in Yu.

A major part of Batman's schtick is legitimately trying to care for the mentally ill even if they're incredibly depraved monsters. Amanda Waller isn't crazy, she's not insane, she doesn't even live in Gotham. She's just stupid, smug, self-righteous and fairly evil all things considered. As for her fate in the animated movie- -Deadshot's on a distant rooftop with his crosshairs over her face as she looks out a window.

Age: 44, Origin: Drop-In, Theme: The Impossible
Location: The City
Perks: The Cult of Personality, A Minority of One
Items: Heresy Special Dark Emperor Size, Hope Rides ALOOOOOOOOOONE!
Drawbacks: Always At War With Oceania

The city is safely in the bosom of whatever future tech defenses I can snag from homebase, which it turns out is quite a lot. I've been involved in multiple World Wars, and Macross was a particularly great time for investing in Anti-Air defenses. This city is a fortress with a psychic leader and I regularly stop by to find saboteurs. It's safe, mostly.

The meat of this jump is mostly inciting rebellion across the world. There's a reason I'm public enemy number one. One of the reasons is how easily I slip into the so-called Black Markets to distribute illicit goods wrapped in ideological pamphlets. Another is how I slip into the lives of party members and subvert or kill them. The rest seems to be the Proton Collider.

I stack perks to deal with worlds like this. A little large scale social manipulation, military tactics books, and Spirit of Anarchy and society comes crumbling down. Hope is impossible in this world, but so am I. Let's see what we can do. My companions have to stay home and help people, though. Can't afford to let any of them fall into enemy hands.

>>52712718

Set up something in a different exalted jump and take the continuity drawback when you go to Infernals.

>>
>>52713015
The drawback explicitly says that any past loyalties or the like won't get you out, I think.
>>
>>52713026
I'm pretty sure that only applies to the Incarnae, but even if it doesn't you don't need to use other people to get yourself out.
Setting up a backdoor yourself while you still can is a far better plan than trying to break out from the inside while crippled.
Although I honestly couldn't tell you the specifics of how you'd do that. The Surrender Oaths are crippling for a reason.
>>
>>52712994
Does Oath-Shattering Strike work on yourself?
>>
Are there any import options that would allow me to add a helmet to an existing set of armor, with all of the properties of said armor?
>>
>>52713093
It says it's for removing oaths from others, but considering that using it counts as the user having broken the oaths I wouldn't recommend using it on yourself even if you could.

Also it's completely untested on bindings as strong as the surrender oaths. It's certainly not a sure thing.
>>
>>52713139
What about giving a companion the Oramus perk that makes it so nothing's impossible and then having them get to Essence 10 and use it? Or do they count as demons and wouldn't be able to?
>>
How are the Yozi supposed to escape in canon? Didn't they literally have some Infernals bust the doors down and walk out?
>>
>>52713170
I have no idea if that would work, but if you're going to rely on a perk that makes nothing impossible then why not just skip the middle man and brute force the really small chance you have? It's not like you're on a timer or anything.

With a little luck, a lot of strategy and a ton of determination. Conventional Yozi wisdom holds making Creation metaphysically the same as Hell would work.

A surer bet would probably be becoming a Devil-Tiger as soon as possible, and use the hyped-to-be-stronger-than-former-Yozi Charms to escape based around what you're good at. The Surrender Oaths weren't written with Solar Exaltation-powered mini-Primordials in mind, and existing loopholes already allow the Yozis considerable wriggle room.

Otherwise, some general usefulness includes:

-Unbound Casting/No Strings On Me (Mage the Awakening); I'm assuming the latter won't let you stroll out, but give you a bit more wiggle room
-The Noble Eightfold Path (Lord of Light)
-Heretic (The Seven Deadly Sins)
-Apotheosis (Baten Kaitos)
-Breaker of Chains (Bartimaeous Trilogy)
-Noble Demon (Disgaea)
-Synchronicity Wave Riding (DC Occult); escape clauses can be EXTREMELY conditional; the Ebon Dragon's is marriage after all
-Crossing The Dragon Streams (Devil Survivor 2): Both SWLIHN and Cytherea have "render Creation spiritually indistinguishable from Hell so we can march out" as part of their agendas, and the iconic Adamant circle Infernal sorcery implies they're on to something.
-Correspondence Course (Fallen London) and As Above So Below (Sunless Sea). Used correctly, the former can protect a London-sized area from the gaze of entities that define physical law-and the latter incidentally gives you knowledge of the Red Science, which uses eldritch mathematics to subvert the former. The Yozis are connected by metaphysical bonds catalysed hold them in place; using something like the capstone-boosted Twice As Bright from Boktai to use the Correspondence and Red Science in tandem could give you just enough leverage to unshackle yourself. You may need to create a meteorite-sized rock called a Starstone Demark with sigils written on it if you can't already speak it like a star or smith it like a devil.
>>
>>52713200
Up to the story teller. It doesn't even have to be possible.
One plan is to turn creation into an extension of hell through massive amounts of magic terraforming. That way it's like they never even left so the oaths don't do anything. Course we don't even know if that will work for sure.

One "successful" way it could go is detailed in Return of the Scarlet Empress. The Ebon Dragon is a cheaty fuck though. So you milage may not be as good as his. It's not even a canon plot either so keep that in mind.

In canon? As I said, the idea of the Reclaimation is that they "escape" by devastating, mutating and ravaging Creation until it's identical to Malfeas' state, at which point (they theorise) they should just be able to stroll out. The Infernals' mission statement is to assist in doing that.

Some of them have conditional escape clauses; the Dragon needed to specifically marry the Scarlet Empress after giving her a wedding ring that provides access to all of his Charms to come free in Creation. Malfeas' original "plan" was order Akuma who knew Infernal Monster Style's Oath Shattering Strike to set him free. It didn't work, possibly because the martial art wasn't buff enough, possibly because the Akuma's Essence level wasn't high enough and probably because Akuma are spiritually extensions of Yozis rather than individuals in their own right.

>>52713170
Assuming it functions similarly to Oramus' own powers, it's likely to have been already accounted for. Oramus was bound extra-tightly by the Exalted because they knew he'd pull this kind of bullshit; his bindings include a mathematical proof that simultaneously proves he's bound an unbound which somehow cancels out any boundary he can exploit.

And that, is the true challenge of escaping: Your fellow prisoners are all broken and deranged to the point the five most visibly coherent ones include a being compelled to betray everything and a Yozi considered insane by other Yozis.

Peer of Hell is honestly the most useful perk in the jump for doing that, but yes-you'd want ALL the hell-friendship and general charisma perks before trying to do that. The trick is to phrase what you're going through as a sign that hey, the Yozis are still better at making things than the gods! You were beautiful/awesome inside all along, you just had to believe in your Chosen who believe in you!

And not, you know, superweapons going rogue and surpassing the people who intended for them to be disposable.

>>52713316
He's a treacherous streak of cowardice, is why.

He was actually one of the first to surrender, some say even betary the others when the war started going in the Exalted's favor. According to him, he was the least tarnished by the subsequent soul butchery and imprisonment, sacrificing only one soul he (allegedly) wasn't very fond of anyway. In fact, the only reason he has the nerve to betray the other Yozis is because in the modern era he thinks out of all of them he most resembles his former healthy Primordial self.

Which is either really depressing or delusional, when the Charm that lets him use necromancy explicitly worsens his nature every time he uses it.

Oh no, it was more like "okay guys, we need ALL the legal jargon bullshit to keep these titans locked up inside of Malfeas' guts. We've just fought a war that destroyed most of existence, we're tired and the Dragon keeps whining about clause 31C: Bathroom Privileges being too strict. Since he gave us all that dirt on his siblings, just give him his damn titan potty already, I wanna go home"

And so his Surrender Oaths are littered with all kinds of loopholes and workarounds-and SOMEHOW that all adds up to marriage=freedom, like a legal cheat code.

Mind you, it backfires badly on him too. There's a unique charm Solars can learn that enhances their caste power, and if a Fiend (one of his corrupted Eclipses) swears and breaks an oath with an Eclipse that learned that Charm, another set of loopholes in his Surrender Oaths means the Ebon Dragon is doomed to fail at something later on.

I may have exaggerated a bit too much. The issue was more this was the first time anyone had tried to bind all the Primordials, and at least 90% of reality was blown up, and the Dragon's whole shtick is being a treacherous fucker who pretends to be your friend before he stabs you in the back, and so basically nobody was 100% sure what they were doing.

Also, it's clear they were operating under tremendous PTSD. One of the first Akuma, Gorol, happened because he went mad from seeing all the slaughter during the Primordial War. There's quite a few Exalts who're clearly traumatised by it even without too much Great Curse influence; one woman tried to give everyone ever Sorcery because she envisioned a world free of SWLIHN's order, another lady locked herself in a beautiful garden and mutilated the humans there into crystal automatons because she can't bear to be reminded of the War's horrors.

I'm the the first to say the Exalted and Incarnae were terribly flawed, but in all fairness-they were trying to do something considered impossible.

>>52713495
You and me both, man.

Objectively, life was absolutely worse for every single species except humans after the successive godsdamn mass extinction events. Even before the Usurpation, Solars blew up large chunks of Creation in a civil war against each other preceding the Deliberative's formation. Then, one of them goofed so hard causality broke temporarily. And AFTER ALL THAT a faction of them called the Cauldronists deliberately nuked parts of Creation into Pure Chaos for shits and giggles, and officially as a military exercise.

And keep in mind-everything except the Cauldronists happened WAY before the Great Curse took a firm hold on their psyches.

I want you to know I had the exact. Same. Reaction. Both in-character and out.

But...having said that, while you're technically right, so is >>52713717. General consensus from hints is that the Great Curse /is/ realistically fixable, it was just subtle enough that none of them thought to look and by the time the Solars reached the height of their power their egos were too big to bother. There's a theme in Exalted that the cycle of revenge just leads to the world as a whole suffering over time-and as much loathing as I have for the First Age, even I have to admit the Solars invented a few useful things that were implied to not be around back in the Primordial Era. Like dimensionally compressed universes of pure potentiality. Or a system of economics that guarantees prosperity.

There's a few newbie Solars who absolutely deserve killing, though. Like the one who hated Dragonbloods so much she became a worse tyrant than them. Arianna's well on her way, too. But among the others, one's a black lady robin hood and the other 3 are trying to be do-gooders.

The safest option would be to kill all the Solars, but-at this point, Creation has been damaged so badly it will never be as good as it was in the beginning. And with them gone, it will likely collapse without a substitute; all the factions that have a vested interest in managing the place are irredeemably corrupt, or have severe issues in judgement-and one of them just wants to destroy all of it.

There's another reason why you might want to trick them into letting you cure the Great Curse. According to a dev, the Great Curse is what made Solar defences truly perfect like an enzyme. Take it out, and something similar /might/ be able to take its' place to give you a backdoor that can be exploited as a control mechanism.

The important thing to remember about Solars is that they were terrible heroes, but extremely efficient superweapons.

If you mean the jumps, yeah-Always An Ending and /maybe/ (and this is a big frickin' maybe when the Yozi it's based on was locked up like the rest, even if he was locked down extra hard) Oramus' perks would do it. On the other hand, the Primordial Qaf DID invent perfection as a concept back in the day as a defence against the Wyld. I'd bank more on the former considering Samsara seems to hold some degree of mystery and dread to the Yozis if they don't want the one who locks it in one form to wake up.

>>52713996
I'd rather not way in either way, but from what I remember-somefaggit was a bit inconsistant on what that perk was based on. First time I asked him in chat, he compared it to stuff like Jormundgar's venom, weird killing stuff divine hybrids of doom have-so I fluffed mine as a property of my Soulfire. Later in thread, he said it was based on how the mobs in the game can do chip damage fighting much stronger player characters? So um-yeah, not sure either way here.

^ Literally you. How about actually trying to think things through instead of just being in deni? It's not healthy, anon.
>>
>>52714029
Not everyone agrees perks trump everything automatically unless explicitly stated so by the jumpmaker, no matter how hard you insist they do. Why is it so hard for you to understand the meaning of fanwanking something?
>>
>>52714032
I mean if someone has a perfect that says "Your attacks bypass any defense" then no amount of Exalted wanking makes those defences still work.
>>
>>52714041
Then take your fanwanking of perks having limits that they don't mention away.
>>
>>52713985
Think of it like this. If a jumper has heat immunity and an attack that bypasses heat immunity hits the jumper then they will get burned anyways because it bypasses their immunity even though it was an immunity, but if a theroretical perk existed that gave immunity to heat even if it pierced immunity then the jumper would remain unburned.

If we turned it in reverse that is basically how a perfect works. You need another step down to brute force it.

>>52714029
Because mechanically the thing the perk is trying to trump isn't what needs to be beaten. It's not that a perk could not beat a perfect period it's that the method that is being tried is not a successful attempt.
>>
>>52714041
So why are you so insistent on telling us all that perfect defenses make perks not work?
>>
>>52714042
You are factually incorrect.
>>
>>52714059
No. There is no need for steps down or extra steps. A perk does as it says. You can wank yourself to Exalted all you like but they are still defenses at the end of the day. Even if they try to take extra steps, they're still defenses.
>>
>>52714059
So in your mind, all jumps should have a retarded page long lists of "Yes it works even if something says it doesn't work and it works even if something says that doesn't work".

God what a stupid fucking view. Can you just keep it to yourself?
>>
>>52714042
A. Yes it does
B. It isn't wank, it is canon

Perfect defences account for things that bypass perfect defences, you need to go deeper.
>>
>>52714034
I'm the second one and I was actually just fed up with people talking about this. I don't care about exalted, I think it was last thread people pointed out that you can just attack more times than they can block and you're done.

I was trying to point out both sides had no real way of winning. There's no canon example of an Exalted PD going up against something a Jumpmaker wrote, because why would there be?

We have no way of knowing for certain what would happen, and neither 'side' of this discussion is going to convince the other that PD's are/aren't as perfect as they claim to be.

Ultimately it is up to the person behind the keyboard to decide how this resolves in their own chain.

Just please, please stop.
>>
>>52714087
>Need to go deeper
Nope. Perk already goes deeper. It';s still a defence. No matter how deep you say it is, it's still a defence. Thus defence bypassing perks bypass it. Because it's a defence. And is thus bypassed.
>>
>>52714059
That's what Noble Eightfold Path is for. Hard to use your absolutes that defend against absolutes because of their absoluteness when your absolutes are no longer absolute.
>>
>>52714106
>Inb4 muh exalted also can't even not be perfect
>>
>>52714086
Immunities don't protect against things that pierce immunities.
That's just common sense. I'm not sure why you think that's stupid.
>>
Anethemas text is explicitly 'you attacks will cause every defense, no matter how great, even if they are perfect, to scatter like leaves to the wind' or something to the effect. How about I just keep punching? If I continue attacking, won't the perfect defense just fucking break? It is a perk that directly assaults the defense. It doesn't go through it to let you attack the guy behind it regardless of the defense, it specifically breaks the fucking defense.

It shouldn't work when people are defending themselves from you.

I'm not sure we ever see Ban beheaded. I guess you'd regrow from the largest part of your body. So probably regrow the head as long as the rest of your body hasn't been cut into itty bitty pieces.
>>
>>52714163
I wouldn't call someone cowering from you trying not to die blocking as raising up against you.
>>
>>52714147
Dude, the example given is literally "it's impressive that this dude almost managed to kill the god of death despite all his defenses". The implication is definitely there. And usually someone "raises" a shield rather than an attack
>>
>>52714127
That it does normally at least, except the perfect defense has an effect that blocks effects that would make it not perfect. So your piercing gets nulled.

Truth be told, I mostly like the Endings one better because it reads cooler and felt less confidant about Anathema because even SF seemed unsure about it later on, so I didn't feel safe sticking with it.

Just curious, how do you imagine your defence-bypassing perks work? Is there some kind of fanfare, do you envision some kind of weakness to strike or is the attack just unchanged apart from hitting?

>>52714091
I agree, to be honest. I just feel bad now the conversation had to go this way, because I feel Exalted's own writers ultimately sabotaged the tone of the setting they were trying to tell by being unable to decide how far the mechanics translated to the reality within the setting.

Honestly, it's kind of a recurring trend in Exalted's game development that they keep shooting themselves in the foot trying to do one thing and overcomplicating it to the point of being incomprehensible. Looking at you, Fair fLUNARS

>>52714106
If you do go that way though-I believe Apotheosis from Baten Kaitos is more easily leveraged for that purpose because it references affecting attacks.

>>52714127
Now on the other hand-unfortunately if you do take the view you can degrade defences with attacks using that perk, the PDs and Exaltations of the Celestial Exalted and Solaroids are associated with silly words like "limitless" and "perfect" and "eternal" that boil down to meaning the things' concepts are buff enough to withstand arbitrary amounts of effects in the setting-which are alleged to include things like the destruction of 90% (and possibly more, if concepts were also erased) of the original Creation. If you work with the idea you could chip away at them, well, it would be an understatement to say you'd be chipping for a long time.

I think that's a bit of a stretch from how it's written but that's just a consequence of taking things from different writers and settings and expecting them to pair up nicely. Especially things that are OC options, because I sure as shit don't remember Smite having perfect effects.

>>52714339
Well, I hadn't thought of it from an anthropocentric point of view but-if you'd look at it that way: The Exalted abused humans in a far more deliberate way than their intended purpose as prayer batteries. Other than the lady who tortured people into being crystal automatons, there's the Solar who raped his Dragonblooded and forced them not to say anything with Charms. There's the fact they deliberately maintained organized crime to make it easier to clean up-and not in the sensible Discworld way, either, they just wanted an excuse to sic hired goons when playing at cold war. There's the rampant nepotism putting their kids in charge of actual Exalts or other positions they physically couldn't do, and there's the negligence as seen when one saw nothing wrong with giving everyone Sorcery. The force that created the world.

Humans may have prospered under the Exalted, but in many ways they had worse problems than modern they earth because all the corrupt politicians had cosmic powers.

>>52714424
Smite really, really isn't when it's canon the gods' powers have faded from lack of belief. Which isn't a thing.

Besides, mythology didn't have Morke & Holden making everything double-extra-super perfect. Also, the Hindu pantheon isn't characterised as dominating the others. Which it would have, if the Bramastra was canon.

Sure, I'm only bringing in three others rather than the usual eight, but the rest can show up, they just don't get the power up. It still works.

Time loops. I don't like time loops, but it's a closed loop. The fact that there are hundreds of bosses (let alone the vast number of monsters being sent our way) means that we are going to have one hell of a journey ahead of us.

3. Most Exalted weren't that bad, those are notable examples. Most of hte other crazy solars probably treated the humans no differently than their abusive slave masters from the other races did.

147. Hamtaro
Origin: Hamham, Theme: Hamham
Perks: Peka Peka! Peka Peka!, Always Excited For Adventure, Hif Hif Hif Hif, Come To The Clubhouse, You Got Out Of Your Cage? Again?, It'll Work Out, The Most Lovedove
Items: Infinite Sunflower Seeds, Hamham Clubhouse

I have never been more grateful for immortality perks. Hamsters have a maximum lifespan of 3-4 years, and I'm really grateful for those perks that let me fake my death with relative ease. I've had the same owner 4 times by just showing up at the pet store and appealing to her. She's a nice girl who I helped pass her schooling by correcting her notes before she studied, and using little bits of magic to solve little problems like the pipes bursting and things. It is pretty fun to try to fix when you're only a few inches tall, though.

I've also had 4 generations of friends. The only hamsters that notice anything is up with this are Harmony and Spat, who enjoy the company. I have some fun with the mystery of it all, but I don't really care when hamhams figure it out. They just think it's really cool.

My companions don't take me seriously as a small rodent in a cowboy hat, but they don't have infinite sunflower seeds, so I feel like I've come out on top.

No, I mean without using perks. As in, not using perks. You can just wait for them to do something stupid and then they can't perfect defense. It has to do with their virtues.
>>
Hey guys, what did I miss?

>Not liking KH
>>
>>52714652
Theres also the part where the notes in every exalted jumps even say that perfects for the purpose of /jc/ aren't truly absolute against really fucking powerful shit from out of setting. There are answers, it's just that people apparantly prefer bashing a wall down with their skull instead of literally anything else.
>>
>>52714710
It's not a matter of not liking KH. I already have my build done, actually.

It's the principle of the thing, 309 was supposed to be the last FF jump and then I could move on.

By "move on" apparently it meant not moving on at all yet.
>>
>>52714698
You say having mentioned using perks in your post.
>>
>>52714714
>really fucking powerful shit
>Apparently doesn't include powerful perks designed to do it
You evolved didn't you Timmy?
>>
Are there any perks that would allow me to punch something that normally would burn/poison me if I touched it without harming myself? I want to be able to punch fire elementals and poison monsters and acid slime people in the face.
>>
>>52714710
I don't like Kingdom Hearts. In fact I don't see why it's so well liked.
>>
>>52714723
They aren't 'necessary' though. They help, but you don't have to have them, it just makes doing the thing you already could do way easier. A perk that makes weakpoints isn't necessary to hit weakpoints, but helps in consistently doing so.
>>
>>52714732
Why am I Timmy now? Is it somehow shitposting to point out notes?
Because that's how anathema works assuming we're still talking about that one. You have to keep hitting them over and over again to wear the defense down.

Although I'm assuming by powerful shit that means things like Giga Slave and up rather than a perk that would fall under the domain of something that a perfect is supposed to defend against.
>>
Would Nemesis from Anima work against Exalts?
>>
>>52714774
What does it do

Things can work against Exalts if you just take the sensible advice and exploit the Imperfections
>>
>>52714774
Nope. Exalts are perfect. Nothing is stronger. If you think something is, obviously you're confused.
>>
>>52714774
Apparently Exalted trumps all other settings so probably not.
>>
>>52714774
Now that's a good question. I suppose it depends on if you consider charm usage as something covered by the perk.
Suppressing an exalts ability to use charms would be a good tactic. Can't use a perfect if you can't activate the charm in the first place.
>>
>>52714801
Nemesis allows you to cancel everything, or prevent people from using any supernaural power. It works against Psionics, Ki, Magic, and it doesn't even stop you from using your own. That said, the reason I'm dubious about if it'd work is that it requires your soul is stronger than the person you're using it against.
>>
>>52714804
>>52714810
If you could ease up on the salt a little that would be great.
>>
Where the hell is the Seven Deadly Sins jump located anyway?
>>
>>52714850
Only if you ease the wank. Compromise?
>>
>>52714850
>/jc/
>ever easing up on the salt

>>52714856
Unimaged jumps, N-Z, S section.
>>
>>52714864
I'll compromise that you can break through perfects if you have two perks which do so. But you have to have two or more, because just one isn't enough.
>>
>>52714864
I don't think anyone ever wanked that exalted beats literally everything and if they did they should feel bad. It's hardly indefeatable. Perfects just do their job really really well.

I swear the guy even admitted that the retard posts were all shitposting. You'd think people would let go after that.
>>
>>52714866
Or someone could target the Flaws in the Perfect Defense. Literally every PD has one. It's canon too.
>>
>>52714837
Well ASA/Garlock pretty much hit the nail on the head about soul strength and Exaltations up there, so if you use it to stop a Charm already happening no. There are abilities that can cancel out power use in Exalted already, actually. And yes, the defences do work against them.

However, all Charms work by using Essence in a certain way so you might be able to stop one from using their Charms if you hit them before they can get the defences up.

>>52714902
This is a better idea, though.
>>
>>52714887
Why two?
>>
>>52714914
The problem is that it makes fighting slow and basically pointless. Literally all an exalt needs to do to maintain a perfect defense indefinitely is think of his motivation. Or be fighting the strongest opponent. It's stupid. You're stupid.

At least perks breaking through perfect defenses makes sense.
>>
>>52714902
Yeah, that's not much. Flaws are so easy to deal with that I've actually never seen them even mentioned. They're basically not even considered in most discussions because it's assumed your taking care of it already. Flaws are only big things for guys like ebby.
>>
>>52714992
Because Perfect Defenses protect against attacks that would break through even Perfect Defenses, so if you have an attack that can break through Perfect Defenses even if the Perfect Defense would block and attack that would go through a Perfect Defense, then that attack breaks through.
>>
>>52714993
No, YOU'RE stupid for thinking you have to be a big manly man and fight Exalts upfront instead of going full gorilla warfare.

Do everything in your power to stop him from thinking about his motivation, then. Wave babies at him. Talk about the economy. Also confuse him as to who even is the strongest opponent and gank him while he's confused. Every moment he uses any of this to clear his head with more Charms is more Essence wasted until you can shank him with impunity.
>>
>>52715030
Okay, I'll bite, since we're on page eleven. How do you overcome a perfect defense in canon? Surely it HAS to be possible.
>>
>>52715032
Again, frankly pointless when I'm trying to conduct a genocide and there are a lot of fucking solars. It doesn't matter if you can kill one solar after an hour of finagling and wearing him down, I only have 10 years.
>>
>>52715046
Turn the other Exalted types against them, then. That's how they were beaten the first time, they were at the height of their power then and there's a few E10 Exalts out there with a vested interest in killing the upstart younguns.
>>
>>52715040
Destroy the entire universe and rewrite the laws of the cosmos to not include the rules written by the weeb that loves fightan magic so much he made defense always win so that fights would last longer.
That's basically it. Either that or you exploit the flaw of invulnerability.

Every charm that has ever been printed that says it beats a perfect is trumped by a perfect anyways because that's just how it works.
>>
>>52715030
But having two perks doesn't do that. If you think two perks do that, then one perk would too. perks don't stop working like that. By your same reasoning, a single perk would break through both levels.
>>
>>52715062
So you can't even just wear them down to a point that they can't raise that defense and they're forced to start taking damage? I have no knowledge of Exalted so I'm just wondering about a quick and dirty answer.
>>
>>52715062
Heard it here first folks. Exalted is explicitly Universal<. Anything that puts you above that and Exalted can do jack shit to you.
>>
>>52715062
So despite being only the laws of one universe, they auto trump everything, even powers given by a being that can change whole multiverses at a whim.

God damn the wank is strong with exaltedfags.
>>
>>52715040
Flaws of Invulnerability have to be invoked, basically a situation has to occur where a Perfect Defense isn't allowed. An Exalted can use a perfect defense as long as they are moving towards the strongest opponent on the battlefield, is in the presence of someone they cares about, are thinking about their Motivation, or stop moving.
>>
I regret asking. Sorry.
>>
>>52715068
Perfects cost essence to use. A pretty big amount depending on the charm. If you can get someone to use all their juice they're basically fucked, but since mote recovery can be cheesed it's about how long their will can hold out for them to attack and block on the same turn. IT's entirely possible to wear someone down. Perfects dont' last very long usually.

>>52715070
It's a cosmic law in universe. You have to rewrite the code if you want to change it. Thats not a busting feat you can jerk it too.

>>52715078
Things work as they do in setting don't they? It was a question about canon after all.
>>
>>52715081
>is in the presence of someone they cares about
Reminder that this can flat out just be yourself. There's nothing stopping it and it even fits for plenty of sorts of people.

Anyone who seriously tries to use Flaws of Invulnerability as an excuse is an idiot.
>>
>>52715090
>Perfects cost essence to use.
That was the answer I was looking for. So it's not just 'it lasts forever and makes fights past a certain skill level pointless'. Thank you.
>>
>>52715068
Wearing them down is a valid way forward, actually. All their shit needs energy to work.

>>52715078
The problem is the setting of Exalted was at least partially created from some Outer God-like things called Shinma. The cosmic laws are distilled from other beings that configured them in certain ways.

>>52715070
Yes and no, actually. Although we're talking about things like the Lord of Nightmares here, and it's les autowinning and more standing a chance at trumping.
>>
>>52715090
And all other things are forced to abide by this settings laws huh? it automatically trumps everything else, no matter what it's from?

I know it's difficult to get past the exalted cock in your throat but try to keep in mind that there are other settings in Jumpchain and Exalted is not the base setting of Jumpchain either.
>>
>>52715102
>lord of Nightmares
ahahahaha

Get the fuck out. I just can't anymore. This is too funny. You're honestly wanking Exalted as on the level of LoN.
>>
>>52715111
Much as I hate to play devil's advocate... what universe are you trying to overcome their perfect defense in?
>>
>>52715111
I'm a little lost as to what you're mad about sorry.
For the record I think perks that make absolutes not absolute would probably work against perfects pretty well.
However perks like anathema probably wouldn't because perfect defenses are built to beat things like that.
>>
>>52715124
So you're saying you think Exalted trumps jumpchan?
