Missed the Nier discussion, sorry.

Will there be an android creation perk.

Keikaku Dori from The World Ends with You gives you planning skills on a absolutely ridiculous level, to the point where it would look like a string of lucky coincidences to most and even those who figure it out will only do so at the last minute. And I think The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes has a perk for DOOM levels of Keikaku. Also, Death Note has two different capstones, one giving you L-tier detective skills and crime solving genius, and one giving you Light-tier scheming abilities. Grabbing both allows you to out-keikaku both of them. Song of Ice and Fire has a scheming perk as well.
>>

Why do you think I give a shit about your origin story? Every fucking jumpchain has one, they're all the exact same, and they add literally nothing of value.

Artificial Alloys from Anno 2070 allows you to synthesize any material that's naturally occurring. What's cool is that you can teach others to use your synthesis process, so you can get a production line set up instead of doing it all yourself.

If I wanted to watch a pathetic NEET stumble around pathetically, then I'd read some isekai. Even those usually have more character development than this shit. No, these, they're all snippets of the same pathetic person not changing one bit in terms of personality or competence for better or worse. It's always the same tired formula and it's always incredibly uninteresting. Ten years is a long fucking time, anon.

So? People still enjoy it. It's okay for you to not like things, and it's okay for people to like things that you don't like, but stop trying to ruin it for everyone else. Coming to the realization that people like different things, some of which don't overlap with your interests, is part of growing up and becoming an adult.

Her father, a struggling artist with an extreme shyness in dealing with other people (how the fuck did he have a daughter while having such a crippling inability to socialize is beyond me), had been convicted of…you guessed it, murder. Namely, the murder of his mailman. I had a feeling there was a much more elaborate plot going on and, wanting Katrina out of my office as soon as possible, I reluctantly took the case. Had to pay the bills somehow.

Katrina I can best describe as a 'sentient firecracker'. Energetic, determined, stubborn, loud, and not one for the concept of personal space. She ended up acting as a perfect foil to my own personality, considering I was perpetually grumpy and lazy. To add to this, she was a few years younger than me and fit the 'sidekick' role perfectly while still dragging me around. I can't help but think that was somehow intentional, but I wasn't going to ponder the extent of Her influence here.

…I had realized too late I had no idea what the name of my 'new friend' was. It made me feel a little guilty, considering they were obviously doing this out of both boredom and a lack of contact. I'd have to apologize the next chance I get.

No I don't forgive them for tossing me into another world like a paper plane, it just pays to be considerate.

Posting part 2 in post format next

Anyways, this began a long train of cases to solve and me bumbling my way through them. I can't count how many times I would just flat-out bullshit things or pull things out of a legal framework just to stall for time to create believable acquittals or cases. Surprisingly, and thankfully, I never ran afoul of Edgeworth or Franziska…I guess they were too busy dealing with Wright. I ran into Phoenix a few times. You kind of get over the 'personal hero' part of meeting someone in the flesh when you realize they're just as if not more of a dork than you are. Not that I didn't enjoy trading 'oh god fuck this case' stories with him. Met Maya a few times, too. Nice girl. Kat didn't like her much, though.

Years pass and I get used to the atmosphere of crazy cases after a while. I meet Apollo, and I can't help but pull the 'youngsters these days' card anytime I did. Kat, meanwhile, graduated and became an actual detective herself. She kept breaking into my office to drag me along on new cases, almost out of habit. I was disturbed by how much I was getting used to it, surmising that I had just surrendered to the comedy routine by now. I don't know whether I was maturing or just accustomed to it.

I had a reputation as a gruff but decisive defense attorney, which was amazing because I still have no idea what I'm doing.

Then, the decade turned in the middle of me stargazing one night, and I was launched screaming off into the horizon again. A second voice near me told me that Kat was on the same train, as well. The routine would continue, and this was just the beginning.

And that's it for Ace Attorney. More to come.

>S U C K E R S [200cp]
Your ability to plot, scheme, and manipulate is legendary. You could start a plan years or even decades in advance, and pull it off flawlessly with only small nudges here and there to set things into motion. With effort, you might even be able to bend the entire development of a civilization to your ends. You never even have to lie, simply omitting some crucial pieces of information instead. Those you use in your plans won't be able to or even need to understand the magnitude of your plots. Of Course, there's still a possibility of something going wrong... Even with your expertise and near-total lockdown of the course of events, something might surprise you. I'm not a gambling man. But if I was, I wouldn't bet on it.

Joker Brand Explosives- Bombs shaped like babies. Bombs shaped like candles. Bombs shaped like toy cars. There’re even bombs shaped like bombs. You have a supply of explosives big enough to blow Gotham to kingdom come, everything from dynamite to thermite and everything in between, as well as huge stockpiles of the Joker’s laughing gas. Around half of the bombs have your face on them, so that the police know who to thank. (300 CP, discount Drop In)

Jumper Computer- A state of the art supercomputer on par with the Batcomputer, which Batman utilizes in most of his detective work. Among its many functions are tremendous computational ability, chemical analysis, as well as an advanced searching tool that can scan for specific words, objects, and people in everything from books, to newspapers, to TV shows and more. (300 CP, discount Bat-Family/Vigilante)

Programmable Metal- A special metal that can be “programmed” with only a few slight touches, creating impressive geometric shapes, weapons, or nigh-unbreakable bindings and changing flexibility and rigidity in a moment’s notice. In addition to a small supply of the metal that you have, you also have the knowhow to make more. (300 CP, discount Scientist)

Plasma Guns- Experimental energy weapons developed by the military, these rifles at first glance may look like something you’d see in a bad Sci-Fi movie, or a comic book. In reality, they are highly dangerous, capable of destroying a tank at a distance of two hundred feet and punching through asphalt and flipping cars just from the force of the impact. (300 CP, discount Criminal)

there is one in Blame! and one in sword Art online.
>>
>>52605911
'this isnt even my final form' from sword art online basically lets you merge and take advantage of all the advantages of your alt-forms, if i recall
>>
Thanks!
>>
>>52605911
Sword Art Online is the golden standard for that stuff. Please remember that it also gives you a 100% mythological raid boss transformation.

The Avengers! Earth's Mightiest Heroes also has a perk for that based on the Hulk. Not as flexible as SAO's, but it also has a neat discount scheme with a drawback to make you share your head with someone else for your stay.

Blame! and Digimon Cyber Sleuth also have perks for it. From what I recall, both take some time, but have additional effects. Particularly, both just note alternate forms, which presumably includes things that aren't proper Jump-chan given altforms. Digimon's also lets you copy Digimon body parts in order to get powers.

>>
>>52605942
Also, asking again, but does anyone have any good ideas for 50 CP items for Scientists?

Here are the other 50 CP items from last thread:

Puddin’s Pie- Once a day, you can summon a large pie in your Warehouse, big enough to theoretically hide a person. You can choose the filling/flavor of the pie. Cherry on top is optional, but highly recommended. If you want, you can choose to seamlessly put a Companion inside the pie when you summon it, though warning them might be a good idea. (50 CP, free Drop In)

Grey Ghost Memorabilia- A collection of Grey Ghost merchandise in mint condition. Included are film reels of all episodes of the Grey Ghost series, as well as the books. The entire collection would fetch a very good price if it went to auction, but perhaps it might hold some sentimental value to you or someone you know? (50 CP, free Bat-family/Vigilante)

…A Rock!- Whenever you’re outside, you can find a rock. Not the same rock, but a large rock will always be on hand wherever you go. It’s the perfect size for throwing at pointy-eared vigilantes. (50 CP, free Criminal)

>The capstone getting better with more purchases of the 200cp perk is a little odd, but okay.
It's one of those odd choices that I'm personally very comfortable with but I fear other won't like. By the logic of the books and system it makes sense though.

>I really like them otherwise.
Yay!

>Maybe something to do with the Spirit Dragons or the Kirin?
What exactly is unique to the Dragons and Kirin? I've read through the books and other lore, including the short stories, and the only thing I can find that is even remotely unique to Dragons is that one fought and was wounded by the big man himself, which while impressive is just showing the dragon in question is a very strong spirit. There was also the dragon that taught the Mirror Breaker, but still not anything any other Kami couldn't do.

Read it again,It's the capstone for the silicon life tree.

>Adaptation 600
Proficiency is just a matter of practice and time, and proficiency with your body and forms is no different. All Silicon Life have periods as they integrate new components for adaptation and improvement, and there are some forms of Silicon Life that will repeat this process incessantly, evidently never satisfied with the way their body turns out. Through your own process of trial and error, you can now selectively merge portions of your alternate forms together to create hybrid forms. You may pick and choose components from different forms as you like, but be wary that a short period of adaptation follows suit afterwards as you acclimatize to your new body. For those of you just starting off, you can start byintegrating inanimate objects – but these won’t work as well, and are likely to wear out with repeated use. Still, it’s nice to have a turret to substitute for your arm on the fly.

Zelda: The Minish Cap has When On The Edge of Demise, which allows you to freely combine racial traits or abilities between altforms, while also giving you an additional form that enhances your attack/defense/magical power.
It also activates that second part automatically if you're near death, giving you a full health restore.

I feel like I want to bring that up more just because it means there's actually two options instead of just the one from SAO.

>>52606037
I'm trying to think of something really dumb and quirky, and I'm remembering the one episode where Poison Ivy tried to turn Alfred into a plant, and she stood right there talking to him when he came into her spa, and her only disguise was, like, a lab coat, glasses, and a ponytail.

So maybe a pair of glasses that makes you look really unassuming?

Thanks for the help Konata. One of the Bat-family/Vigilante perks works sorta like that, so I don't think that will work out, though that does give me an idea.

Would lab safety equipment that somehow reduces the chances/severity of mishaps in the lab be appropriate for 50 CP? Or would that be too little compared to the others 50 CP items?

This guy or someone like him is real beef with Dirge. He doesn't like him personally is constantly trying to attack him, revise history to smear his character or attack his jumps with the only basis being that he doesn't like them, that's it.

I like to imagine that Dirge in RL cut him off from going into the toilet when this guy really needed to pee.

It is likely to be that petty a motivation, but the reality is likely less funny.

>>
>>52606585
How long have you been here for? That does not sound like anything anyone but a newbie would say.

Let me be clear: we are not that lucky.

Nor are we so rich that we can throw away perfectly good jumps just because the jumpmaker is supposedly not that nice or just because some douchbags don't like it, when the majority or at least a good chunk of us here do like them, or at least find them sufficently inoffensive that replacing them just because seems like an ill-motivated waste of energy.

...Not sure actually. Why are they Dragon Spirits and Kirin Spirits instead of simply spirits? I don't have the most in-depth Kamigawa knowledge.

At the very least though, the Dragon Spirits are /quite/ a bit bigger than even the five/six story building maximum of the standard Bizarre Form.

The Kirin just seems to cause stuff with their visitation, just showing up and stuff happening as a result? Which fits with them being good omens in mythology.

Really, anyone who replies to him at this point is a shitposter themselves. He can't be any more obvious, and he's been doing the same shit for the last month. Shitposting is an integral part of all generals. The larger the general gets, the harder it is to avoid shitposting. /jc/'s problem isn't that shitposting exists or that people bite bait, it's that our shitposting comes from anon drama rather than other generals, where it's usually something actually involving whatever the general is discussing. Like vn generals shitpost about waifus, or vg generals shitpost about memes in games.

Your memes are things like BODACIOUS BABES, The Timmy, and now nonexistent jumps or banned jumps. You can't possibly have good quality shitposting with something as stupid as that.

Because Dirge left in the last few months? It only makes sense to switch to a target that won't argue back. It's not that much different from how we suddenly see all these people showing up to point out why Dirge is one of the worst jumpmakers we've ever had, when they never bothered to say anything to him when he actually asked for feedback way back when.

It's just easy and fun to kick a dead horse for some.

inb4 Dirge was a cocky dick who never listened to anyone :^)
>>
>>52606975
Gotta agree with that desu. The /lolg/ is objectively even shittier, but I find myself having more fun there than on /jc/. The trolling, shitposting, and even the memes kinda seem more organic and natural, if you know what I mean? Here it's just people artificially creating drama over and over again, but people can't keep themselves from participating in it, so it'll be the same the next thousand threads as well.
>>
>>52606975
tl;dr we don't get good shitposting because we don't have good memes.
>>
>>52606974
Agreed.
Shitposter is actually impressing me a little.
Here I though he was like one of those stupid little dogs old ladies get.

>>
>>52607029
It's all in the memes in the end anon. Thread politics, world politics, and even all kinds of intersocial relationships are ruled by the might of memes. Our generation might not discover new continents or travel space, but I truly believe that we live in the dankest of times.
>>
>>52607029

>>
>>52607014
Well there's another difference in that people in other generals don't have nearly as many rules. This is probably the only general where you actually have memes related to rules and people arguing about whether shit is valid or not. At least with waifu memeing or director trashing it's just people pitching in to the screaming choir and then when everyone has had their fun they move on to something else.

Drama memes are fine when they're done right. /tosg/ has tons of drama memes involving certain players known for ERP, but none of the drama memes are anything overtly hateful, in contrast to this place. There isn't a single meme that isn't hateful except for the Worm Best Waifu meme.
>>
>>52607057
No, that way lie only reddit memes. True memes are born from chance and coincidence, grown naturally in a sea of shit. I believe that /jc/ simply isn't big enough to produce our own memes yet.

But no, Lands are much bigger than football fields. They're entire islands and mountains, and places of that scale.

>>52607057
True memes are things that forms naturally, things that are memorable to everyone involved. The atmosphere here isn't conductive to that, you already have people shitting on others whenever they make anything, and they just screech louder when somebody tries anything deviant. If people are busy fighting off shitposters or shitposting, no memes will form that doesn't revolve around the shitposting.

You can't force a meme, BODACIOUS BABES should have proved that. It had no substance behind it that could have been memorable because it was just a random phrase and some pictures. 1.essentially a magical little Tokyo, think treasure town from tekkonkinkreet only more hyper dimensional

3.Two rural towns
4. A set of around eight song towers merged together all of which are over 5000 years old.

8.a boat which could easily be mistaken for a town

Journal Entry # 39 - 1

Wow, so I don’t really like this place. It’s tough when you complain about Inhuman conditions of testing on humans and get told, yeah a lot of people feel that way and we are perfectly willing to listen to any suggestions of a better way to do it but this works and until you come up with something better, we really don’t want to hear about it. I can tell already this is going to be a long decade.

(to be continued)
>>

>you never see it coming.

Journal Entry # 39 -5

Well we had another breakout today this time it was some immortal super monster that adapts to everything and is psychic and psychotic. While Adam and the rest of my companions helped get the rest of the researchers out safely Akitsu and I cornered it, she nailed it with a sphere of Ultimate destruction. It left some dust behind. I am in trouble now because I pulled out a rod of disintegration and said I used that to kill SCP -682. I claimed that it was an SCP that I was just getting around to registering but didn’t have a chance because of the break out.

I am in soooo much trouble, the only reason I am not fired and worse right now is that SCP 682 seems to be dead. (I am not supposed to know this but apparently they are planning a party later because of it). The dust was collected with a dust buster then dropped in to a tank of acid just to make sure but so far nothing.

Journal entry # 39 -6

So I know I am in trouble but… I am on desk duty and doing things they would usually give interns. It’s not like I saved a bunch of people’s lives or anything. So I guess my plans to work my way up in to heading this place and then instating more humane testing practices are shot to hell. I tell you no good deed goes unpunished. Also they haven’t been able to get the rod to work except with some weird SCP that can use it. I hate this place. After I get my spark I am not coming back and I am stealing back my rod before I leave because these guys suck. Also I am setting all the computers to play the hamster dance on an endless loop when I leave

>1.essentially a magical little Tokyo, think treasure town from tekkonkinkreet only more hyper dimensional
Yes. Probably a Colorless land, unless it's obviously associated with some color like Ravnica's city districts.

>2.a volcano Forge works surrounded by a massive tropical Valley.
Yes. Depending on the relative size of the volcano forge (is it a full-size volcano?), it'd be either Red or Green. Possibly both, if a full-size volcano.

>3.Two rural towns
Yes. They're most likely to be White, maybe Green depending on whether there are foresty areas/groves to with them.

>4. A set of around eight song towers merged together all of which are over 5000 years old.
Yes. Sounds like a Blue or Colorless thing.

>5. A cyberpunk demon realm.
Doesn't tell me a lot about its size, nor what this particular demon realm entails... but likely to be Black if it's like MtG or classical demons.

>6.a spaceship roughly twice the size of Manhattan
Iffy. I'd say it's just a huge artifact myself, and not a land. Would be colorless otherwise (or maybe White if this is anything like a standard-ish Light of Terra).

>7.an extremely deep and wide dungeon filled with monsters.
Probably. I'd guess Black for its subterranness, but otherwise no clue for its mana color.

>8.a boat which could easily be mistaken for a town
Maybe? If it's basically a drifting town, it probably counts. If it's more of boat than a town, it's probably just an artifact.

Hanuman's cool. He's a giant kung fu monkey who fights snake demons, once tried to eat the sun because he thought it was a mango (and succeeded), and who takes metaphors far too literally and therefore actually has his best friend Rama inside his heart. Like, he's got a little clone of Rama that he keeps in there. Rama's wife Sita, too. It's gross. I love it.

Minecraft's Cheat Mode is a decent way to do it - if a little inefficient.

Fuse everything you want to duplicate together into a single item, and keep combining the masses.

True Creation and Wish from DnD will let you make virtually anything in exchange for life-force/memories (the cost can be side-stepped, with care).

The various Wyld shaping charms in Exalted could be able to help - not sure how you'd apply them post-Exalted. Might be possible to create a Wyld zone, and then shape it... not entirely sure on that.

>Doesn't tell me a lot about its size, nor what this particular demon realm entails... but likely to be Black if it's like MtG or classical demons.

Anyway it has the eve AI, lets you construct stuff and is a mobile command center.

So....Blue/White (It might change depending on any upgrades you can do to it, but more or less Blue White seems right to me, Blue for research and tech, White for any order you create with it and being your command centre.....maybe?).

Not really, but with 'standard' I mean it 'just' being an Imperial ship.

I'm... not sure why Necrons would be White? Considering how nigh-omnicidal they are, they don't seem to fit White's morality and teamwork stuff. http://mtg.gamepedia.com/White

>it's the Netherworld from the Disgaea: Hour of Darkness DLC
Well, judging from the impression of Disgaea Demons I got from the jump, that'd be Black, yes. If a /lot/ less nasty than MtG demons.

>Also would a decently sized internal world from exalted the Infernals count?
Bancho, with the Charm version you get an area 12 mile in diameter, 113 square miles.

You could quite easily makes biomes that you could make mana bonds with in there. Of course, unless you keep it relatively small, it'd fall under the 'world, not a single land' thing you had with the moon-sized space station. (Not if the Disgaea Netherworld could also be HUEG enough to be multiple lands).

Anyway, color would depend entirely on the landscape you form there. Or possibly your Devil Tiger themes, since the place has to be in line with those.

Right. No problem, 30 times jupiter just seemed off to me, so I figured I'd check.

Anyway, I'm still not sure where you're getting that being larger than Jupiter from?

Because Jupiter's surface is 23,71 billion square miles. Compared to your 1.46 million and my 13. 761 million square miles. It's quite a lot bigger.

My (somewhat larger) area is /almost/ the size of the moon's surface though (about 94% of it), which is 15 million square miles.

Also just curious, what happens if you summon an Infernal underground, underwater or in space?
>>
>>52608659
...Uh. Why is one of the most basic Warlock features 200cp to keep out of the jump?

Also, is there a need to list all of the demons out specifically? Right now you'd be blocking access to summoning Shivarra, Observers, Void Lords, and the other upgrade demons.

And things like summoning a wild imp swarm, and other things Warlocks can do (even outside of the NPCs and lore).

Yes. Which is weird, because that (as said here >>52608755) would mean non-Warlocks can apparently take this as a perk too?

So, it's 200cp for 1/3rd of the Warlock class. Available to anyone. Which doesn't make sense with his other perks?

For an actual Warlock, it seems weird to pay for this, even discounted.
>>
Now that we've got the screamers out of the way.

>>52608710
>>52608729
It's the basic list of demons right now, there will be others added.

And the reason for the price is - Hunters get only one beast, and can't swap them out easily without going back to a stable or other such location. Warlock demons have sapience (disregarding the Infernal) and a greater degree of utility, as well as the warlock always having access to them.

I can't remember, what perk was it that stopped you from being erased from existence?
>>
>>52608920
By default, summoning doesn't take up companion limits though
>>
>>52608859
>It's the basic list of demons right now, there will be others added.
Alright. I still feel a list like this is unnecessary, since it blocks off summoning whatever is not on there.

It would be something else if you listed them as demons that Warlocks usually summon though. I could get on board with that, though it might be better for the Notes than bloating this perk so much.

>As for this, I honestly don't have a defense. Am willing to remove it.
I'd honestly be in favor of that. Aside from cheapening Warlock by making one of its key features available to anyone (which is my primary concern, it's not like Druid has a 200cp perk for Shapeshifting, or like the stuff of other class is up for purchase)...

It also takes up a perk slot for Warlocks, to let them do something I'd assume they'd be able to do by default.
>>
>>52608925
There are multiple. Alter World has one for shutting down reality warpers from dunking you out of existence directly, while Nobodies from Kingdom Hearts, by virtue of not existing in the first place, can resist being erased from reality through willpower.
>>
>>52608822
OAA doesn't have a free hand. That's kind of the deal with having only one arm.
>>
>>52608988
I think that was kind of the point, anon, which makes it even more dickish.
>>
>>52608859
>apply follower guidelines to the demons

Yeah, I don't think this is a good idea. Dremora are sapient, angels are sapient, the theoretical Servants you can summon using the Grail War plans are sapient, the eldritch horrors from beyond the Outer Gate are sapient-and there's ways to get more than eight of those already. Consider your demonic followers don't automatically respawn and presumably have to be maintained by your magical connection rather than fiat.

Hunter-beast relations are more of a pet and master thing, it's hardly fair to compare them to warlocks when strictly speaking you don't need any magic to own a pet.
I'd recommend you forget about
>>

So, here's the plot, as I understand it:
A long time ago, the United Earth Federation sent a bunch of people to Mars, because why not.
And when they got to Mars, those people discovered ancient supertech, and IMMEDIATELY broke off from Earth, declared themselves a monarchy chosen by god, and then started killing the fuck out of Earth because manifest destiny.
So Earth destroyed the portal system that let Mars come to Earth, and the war stopped. But then they got the tech to come back to Earth, and so some Mars radicalists killed their own princess on a peacekeeping mission so they'd have an excuse to start the war up again, which they did. And they started that by vaporizing civilians and racing each other to see who could get the highest kill count.

And now, I'm about to push their shit in.

So, 36 Knights. That's good. That's great, actually. That gives it a boss fight kinda feel. Thirty six levels, each with a boss at the end! Kill one, then move onto the next.
Some people might say that my lackadaisical play-by-play of what I'm doing is kindof defeating the point of "tactics", or that maybe I shouldn't be telling people the exact specs for what my mech can do, but... honestly.
That's just so they stand a chance at all. It's basically politeness.
I'm a jumper, after all.

I'd like to say I'll steal lots of tech and do... science things. I'd like to do that.
But the truth is I'm probably just going to see how big a power source I can strap to things using A Machine For War, and then shoot things with those things. And then I'll just cheat if they fail. Because fuck fairness.
There might not be a lot left of the Orbital Knights to study.
But who knows? I sure don't.
I guess it'll be fun, in an OCP kindof way.

Well, here's a quick one:

Sherlock Holmes

>A Truly Legendary Patience (200)

>Walking on Thin Ice (150)
>More Than a Pretty Face (250)
>One of the Blokes (550)
>I See Everything (700)
>Impatient (600)

I feel like this build is critical for my overall chain, since this very much helps me be a side character. Plus, You Know My Methods is an amazing skill, when consider for jumpchain as a whole, since you're presented with near constant opportunities to work with insanely talented people. I'm also pretty proud of the Holmes build too, I was envisioning them as the type who solves crimes by getting up in everyone's face, to the point that I was seriously considering having them not taking the Genius perk to better represent how they solve crimes through shenanigans and "just crazy enough to work" plans. Since I didn't take it, however, I figured at least one of us should. Shawn Spencer was actually the inspiration, but I can't really recall the show, so I'm unsure how similar they are.

I mean, I went ahead and watched the first episode on Crunchyroll.
And from the looks of the princess and her little assistant boy who is probably the basis of the Defector background? They're probably doing the whole "war is bad and there are good people on both sides and we should all live in harmony and fuck" kinda deal.

... except the backstory is LITERALLY what I just described, and they simultaneously have guys from Mars side grinning ear to ear about how they will now take all of Earth's bounty by divine right. And the guy who I presume is the basis of United Earth Soldier is hopelessly talking about how Mars just kicks the shit out of everything and we're all fucked, while we get shots of people driving on the freeway getting vaporized to ash and cities going up in flame.
And just...
Fuck it, y'know?

I can't even muster up indignation about it. I feel like the "Unspecified Mental Disorder" is like the perfect drawback for my mood about it.
It's just kindof like, "Well... okay. I guess we're doing this."

And don't get me wrong, I'm not gonna, like, go full evil about it and try to blow up Mars or anything. That'd be dumb. I'm sure there are perfectly nice people on Mars.
But I'm gonna absolutely crush their military and anyone remotely associated with it.

>>52610078
Apparently I seemingly go full shonen hero about it, but in a really underhanded and cynical way.

That's only in a war, though.
War is kindof garbage.

Final Form gives a one time customizable raid boss altform you can use whenever and allows for quick altform shapeshifting and mixing on command.

On the Edge of Demise comes with stat buffs and a refill when you're about to die and a final boss form that you can apply altform characteristics to.
It doesn't give free form mix and match characteristics when you aren't in that form though and while I'm not certain I'm pretty sure you need to be on deaths door to actually activate it.

I'm sure. I only watched the first episode.

But there's twenty six of them, and I really don't feel like watching a whole mech series. I don't really enjoy mech series' or space battles, and I didn't really enjoy the episode I saw, and there's only so much you can glean from what's in the jump doc and one episode.
So I'm sure there's, like, this whole web of deceit and stuff, but I figure that since I'm literally just going to be "a soldier who uses a mech to fight the hugely powerful army that is shitstomping earth", that'll be good enough.

You could drop a plot synopsis right here in spoilers if you want to clear it up, though. I'm sure I wouldn't be the only person who'd appreciate it.
Lotsof anons probably don't want to watch every new anime /jc/ shows them. That'd be a lot of anime.

>>52610345
It would give you two different alforms for your "boss modes". Edge of Demise only lets you combine altforms into your "boss mode", but it gives you a stat buff on top of that, and if it activates by itself you get a fullheal. Final Form can combine altforms as you wish, but that and the boss mode altform are the only things you get, and there aren't any real buffs.

>>52610384
The way I read it, you can activate Edge of Demise whenever you want, but it wouldn't activate the fullheal unless you let it activate on its own, which is when you're at death's door, yeah.

I dunno, someone can ask Gaunlet.

Yorokonde: “What? Really? It seemed fairly obvious to me. Friendship energy is friendship energy no matter what form you plug it into.”

>”Oh my my my! Just absolutely delicious! I think you might be the very first to respond that way. Looks like I underestimated you.”

>Mass Blaster

It's far too good for 200CP

>Magic hits much harder than Black Magic does. To use an example with Tales magic, Lightning would be Black while Indignation would be Wizard.

I don't understand what you mean by this

>In the game itself, there were no more than three enemies in any given battle at a time, and thus was the most targets you could affect at once with bombs and spells. This holds true in the gauntlet as well; however post-gauntlet you may affect small crowds with the AoE of your explosives and spells.

This just seems like it's taking a gameplay abstraction too seriously

My eyes flick down to the birthday card my parents had given me just before boarding. They had asked me to wait until I was in the air to open it and the present attached to it. Now, with hours to go until we would be landing… somewhere… seemed as good a time as any. At the very least it would offer a few moments of distraction. Which I desperately needed as a bolt of lightning flashed blindingly through the glass and the cabin rocked hard.

I felt a little old for birthday cards, but what could I do? You can’t just turn down your parents best wishes. The card was simple. Ma and Pa wishing me their best on my first trip away from home and a happy birthday. Pa’s handwriting always was a little worse than Ma’s. And there was something written on the back…

Ẁ̕o̵̡u̧̢͘͝l̡͠͝d́̀͜ ̢͞y̵͞ớ̧̡u̴͠͠ ̕ḱ̶́i̢͟ń̢̀͘d̀͜͡l̴͞y̷̵ ́̕͢s̡̕h́o̡̕͟͠ò̶t̴̛̕ ̵̢̧̀t̡h̷̷̢̧e̸̶̡͡͝ ̨͢͞p̷i̶͜l̨͘o̶t͢͡s͘͡ ̶̛͘͘į̡͘n̷̸̴ ̷̡̕͜a̡͞͡͡p̷̷̕͠p̸͡͠ŕ͘ó̸̀x̶̧͜͜i̷̧̡͟m̴̶̡͠at́́͘̕ę̵̛l̨͢ỳ̶̕͝ ̵͜͢͝t̸̡̛͘h̸̨r̕èȩ͢ ̷̛͘͜m̶͜í̵̧̕͢n̨̛u̧̨̧t͟͜͡é̷̵̢͜s͘?̴̡̡͠

But before I could read it the plane gave a fresh shudder and the coffee cup upended all over the card. I cursed and whipped out my handkerchief to mop up the mess. The card, however, was beyond saving. So I set it aside with my handkerchief on top. The stewardess, who had been on the ball so far in this trip, seemed to have missed the accident. Or, given that she was looking at me, was choosing to ignore it.

>It actually looks okay, other than the stuff below. What's the reasoning behind it being a gauntlet?

Because the game is both short and easy, and it's one of those early JRPGs for the SNES, so there's not much worldbuilding. Therefore, I'm not going to have the jumper be stuck there for ten years after the big bad is dead. Besides, we need more gauntlets, and it was relatively easy to make a lot of drawbacks for this setting.

>What is this even based on? Capped at level 41 doesn't mean anything to someone who isn't familiar with Final Fantasy

Right, so the capbreaker is there because in the original game, the main character was effectively capped at that level and his stats wouldn't rise after that. Also, your allies DON'T LEVEL UP AT ALL. Therefore, those perks remove the cap on your levels, so you can fight the final boss stronger than normal if you were willing to put in the extra effort to get more experience.

As for I made it all up? The final boss made a false prophecy to lure in heroes and kill them as a prank. You kill him anyway.

>>Mass Blaster It's far too good for 200CP

Your spells do less damage to an individual target when affecting more than one target at once canonically. This perk lets you blast small groups at full power.

>>
>>52610702
Fair enough

The capbreaker perks just seem disproportionate to the rest of the jump. There's a concept called One True Build that is seen as undesirable where certain perks are overly advantageous relative to others, because that diminishes the motivation for differentiated builds. Also considering 400 CP's a relatively low charge within the jump for something that lets you theoretically exceed all the other characters combined, I'd suggest lessening it's effect. Maybe limiting it to the in-jump purchases.

I understand what Mass Blaster does, but I do think it's as valuable as Doublecast when it means you only have to cast the same combat spell once

So basically, the thing to take away is that Black is actually weaker forms of regular magic?
>>
>>52610702
Also,

>Any force or entity out there who would seek to make you a puppet to preordained destinies with find their efforts to be in vain, and not even deterministic universes can rob you of your agency.

In light of what the final boss actually is doing, this seems both irrelevant to the actual events of the jump and also deliberately written to be all-encompassing for other situations outside the jump when it isn't warranted.

So I'd recommend lowering the price and rewording it as something that lets you perceive through false proclaimations and other forms of social manipulation
>>
>>52610480
Huh. And I was just wondering how I was going to kick off a FF Arc. It looks pretty good and I don't see any obvious holes in the perks. I'm really happy to see a Jump for Mystic Quest getting made and I think a Gauntlet fits the tone nicely.

I really like the Benjamin Drawback for people who don't want to have to do the heavy lifting of the Gauntlet. You can just tag along, pull your own weight, and let him do a majority of the work.

>Companions, Spoiler: Companions
Pretty sure this is an artifact left over from earlier editions or something.

My only complaints:
+ There's very little easy way to tell where one section ends and another beings. A little Bolding, increasing the size of the text, and centering it does wonders to draw the eye to the titles of new sections.
+ It's a little meta in it's explanation of what the perks do, which is understandable give the source material and I don't hold it against you, but other people might.
+ Also, did I miss where you explained how big the Magic Pools start out at? Or are you relying on people looking up the stats on a wikia?

I hope this helps more than it discourages. Busty Demon chick for extra encouraging.
>>
>>52610763
>Also considering 400 CP's a relatively low charge within the jump for something that lets you theoretically exceed all the other characters combined, I'd suggest lessening it's effect. Maybe limiting it to the in-jump purchases.

It's a skill and stat capbreaker, and it's not inconceivable that the jumper would already have both capbreakers. Besides, Beyond All Ceilings allow you to temporarily act as a capbreaker for other people - a very good thing in the gauntlet itself considering the guest PCs' levels are fixed when you get them.

>understand what Mass Blaster does, but I do think it's as valuable as Doublecast when it means you only have to cast the same combat spell once

Doublecast lets you throw two offensive spells on a single target, or heal and attack at almost the same moment.

>So basically, the thing to take away is that Black is actually weaker forms of regular magic?

No, Wizard is the stronger form of Black Magic.

Hi! Not that anon, but,
> Therefore, I'm not going to have the jumper be stuck there for ten years after the big bad is dead. Besides, we need more gauntlets, and it was relatively easy to make a lot of drawbacks for this setting.
... but... what if I WANT to spend ten years there? I liked Mystic Quest when I was a kid. I know it was babby's first RPG, but I think it would be fun to sit in a silly little fantasy valley with elemental themed towns for a decade.
Vacation jump, y'know?

Besides, we have stuff like Generic Sugarbowl, which, even disregarding the whole "generic" bit, the best that place is going to be is an analog off of Strawberry Shortcake.

> Besides, we need more gauntlets
That's absurd. We're not trying to reach a quota. Gauntlets are for settings that either have so little content or occasionally are so broken that they wouldn't even constitute as a "setting".

Look, I don't really feel like arguing too hard for it, but would you consider granting some kind of "normal jump" optional drawback or something?
You could put some kind of drawback cap on it or something, if people keep their powers or something? Don't give them the end-jump reward? Drawbacks only give back half CP or something? I don't know.
>>
>>52610480
Why does White Mage Specialisation have specific upgrades and the others are generic boosts?

Mass Blaster is too good of an effect for 200.

>Beyond 41
Pretty sure this is just you wanting this perk. Please keep it to just fitting things as the other anon suggested. What's even the justification for the 200cp upgrade to it? Why would anyone not take these two perks?

>Ocp drawback
This doesn't seem like it should be here. Why is it here?

You have too many drawbacks that aren't worth the price or just aren't worth being drawbacks. It feels like they're there just to pump up the CP you can get for little danger or cost.

>>
>>52610845
>would already have

Okay, first off-there's another concept called interjump balance where you're not supposed to guage the provenance of perks you write based on stuff in other jumps, because that would logically result in being able to learn the Spirit Bomb in Mad Men jump. I take the point about Beyond All Ceilings, but the base concept of the perk is too broad for a jump you've described as not overly dangerous

That's a good point actually. On rereading the bit about how it's an actual property of magic here, I guess Mass Blaster is fine.

Alright.

Also, on second thought I agree with >>52610860.

Which is covered by the following line:

>In the game itself, there were no more than three enemies in any given battle at a time, and thus was the most targets you could affect at once with bombs and spells. This holds true in the gauntlet as well; however post-gauntlet you may affect small crowds with the AoE of your explosives and spells.

Unless you want to argue other magic systems aren't like that... But that would be inter-jump balance, wouldn't it?
>>
>>52610913
Actually, I...developed a more advanced version of that technique. It involves fuinjutsu. And bone tentacles.

Okay, I'll put in a +0 CP drawback just for you.

Well, it's your single player experience. Half CP sounds good.

>Here, have a gauntlet.
Huh, this is pretty good.

>Basic Moveset (Free)
> this energy is segregated into the three schools of White, Black, and Wizard magic, and the energy of one school is not able to be used to fuel another.
Might want to mention the separate pools can merge into your general magic pool (the one mentioned in the Jumpchain rules paste) after the jump ends.

>Quick Change (100 CP)
>Inventory (Free or 150 CP)
I would remove Quick Change or fold it into Inventory as a lesser version form someone who does not want to pay for the full Inventory once the jump ends. When you have a inventory you can vanish your current held weapon to inventory and call up a new one quick as thought.

>OCD Parkour
Name made me chuckle

>Strength of Fire
>Resilience of Earth
>Swiftness of Wind
>Magic of Water
I have not played the game in a long time, but I think the NPC's from that land had that elemental attribute, and it also buffed the damage of the matching black magic spell (if they had it) and also weapon damage if their weapon had that elemental attack.

Sword Expertise
Axe Expertise
Claw Expertise
Demolitionist
Dead-Eye
I would give a discount on the 1st one of there you buy. And possibly on the 1st one of the Element perks above, everyone in the game seemed to have one of each.

>A Bit Of Safety
Also a nice in-joke. I haven't seen the saftey bit translation in a long time.

>White Magic Specialization
>Black Magic Specialization
>Wizard Magic Specialization
Perks should be applicable past a jump, you might want to include something in the notes making them applicable to similar magic from other magic systems after the jump.

>Beyond 41
Was the max level 41 and not 40? Bad memory!

>Magic Equalization (+0 CP)
Nice answer to the 1st Black Magic spell being worse because it was the earliest one you found.

>Drawbacks
Might want to add a drawback representing the unavailability of monsters, where you can't sneak past or walk around them.
>>
>>52611076

>>
>>52611053
Because inter-jump balance isn't valid, ever. Not for offerings, not for criticism. Two wrongs don't make a right, and by using inter-jump balance to support your argument, all you're doing is entertaining a thought exercise. It should have no bearing on what actually gets done.

>>52611069
Which is perfectly valid from an intra-jump balance perspective.
>>
>>52611075
If you purchase it twice you get a discount the second time, and it allows for both options to be selected
>>
>>52610999
If you're still there, I tried to break it gently but as you can see people really feel strongly about the interjump balance thing.

The jump's looking good. If you're invested in getting it accepted, at this point all you have to do is tone down the capbreaker perk.
>>
>>52610880
>Mass Blaster is too good of an effect for 200.

I can raise it up a hundred CP or so?

>>52610880
>Pretty sure this is just you wanting this perk. Please keep it to just fitting things as the other anon suggested. What's even the justification for the 200cp upgrade to it? Why would anyone not take these two perks?

Because you are capped in the game itself. Without the capbreaker, you're stuck at level 41 and further experience won't benefit you or your allies. And while level 41 is strong, the endgame enemies are still threatening.

And for Beyond all Ceilings to work you have to give whoever you want to benefit your personal attention.

>This doesn't seem like it should be here. Why is it here? You have too many drawbacks that aren't worth the price or just aren't worth being drawbacks. It feels like they're there just to pump up the CP you can get for little danger or cost.

This is a gauntlet, if I don't put in a lot of drawbacks people are going to bitch at me anyway.

>Please don't.

Those are examples.
>>
>>52611104
Except multiple people have brought up how it doesn't fit the jump, at all or just with how broad and good it is. And as mentioned before, he's balancing the perk based on inter jump perspectives already. So it's bad from both sides, intra or inter jump.

>Ben's stats and stat progression.
You might want to make that fairly obvious then. Because as it stands I can't find a note saying that anywhere.

>Additional Notes from a second read through.
+ I would recommend also not making references in your notes to other Jumps and Perk directly. That's sort of frowned upon as needlessly meta.

+ Please organize the Drawbacks by cost. Having linked Drawbacks grouped together is okay, but you've got a lot of them mixed around.

+ Mysterious Dungeon Janitor and it's Booster should probably be swapped in cost.

+ Deeper Battlefields and Extra Encounters really should be removed, as they're basically free CP for grinding, which isn't really a Drawback. Or at least, not worth as much.

+ The Video Game Atlus was wrong! is really only worth 100 CP, as all it does is shuffle the layout around. Considering most people won't have memorized the layout before heading into the Dungeon, unless it makes it harder to get around, it's another Drawback that is basically free points.

+ If Magic Ring is worth 100 CP for protection against one Status Ailment, Cupid Locket should cost 200 CP for protection against three.

+ Items in general - They need a little bit more love. Some of them are okay, but others read very clunkily and could do with a good edit and a little extra fluffing.

Again, I hope you find my comments helpful as they are intended to be.

The animals you summon come in two basic categories one of which you must choose.

The first category are the huge summons. As your summons age they grow much larger, some of them

reaching a hundred meters tall. They are of course massively strong, and even their weaker techniques

can do serious damage to entire towns. Their more powerful techniques can level them.

The second type are the human like summons. They become anthropomorphic with a set of hands that

may as well be human. While they aren't as strong as they giant summons they can go indoors, and are

significantly faster over short distances. They are generally more useful for one on one combat, and can

teach you more of their skills, beings they are more like humans.

>capped in the game itself
So? You're capped to a certain level in most RPGs. If you can still effectively battle the foes you find in the jump., that hurts the justification even more.

That's not a reason, that's explaining how it works.

Still nothing on why anyone would not take these two perks. Especially with how cheap they are and how easy your drawbacks are.

You can put in drawbacks without making them weak or cheap. 50CP drawbacks shouldn't even be a thing. That's not answering why the 0cp drawback that only seems to be there to address something you disliked about the game is there.

Don't. That isn't how the Jumpchain power pool merging works. Pools only merge if they work the same. You can by bribing the great and the good with mutant based powers and longevity. Like Trask can hate muties all he wants if for every Trask there are 4-5 other senators with 200 year plus lifespans thanks to the mutant blood running through their veins, and the elite forces of the army are now rewarded with super powers as well as a ranger badge. Hating the mutants means you want the commies to win. Or terrorists, depending on the timeline. Trask becomes unfashionable and goes the way of McCarthy.

Remind me how being given unlimited time to train in a setting focused on taking lots of time to train is a dangerous thing. And try not to use tropes to justify it this time either, use stuff that actually applies.

>>52611566
Everyone else is training too.
Those people are assholes.
The danger should be apparant.

So stay away from the assholes (Which is a trope, not universal to all characters in Xianxia, so you couldn't even do that right).

>>
>>52611566
I don't actually read Xianxia, I'm pointing out the hole in your logic.

How do you expect someone to not argue from tropes about a generic jump who's setting is simply a mash of tropes?
>>
>>52611591
You misunderstand. People used it's danger to justify why it wasn't a loophole to get infinite CP and then the people who did take it, often the same ones who argued for the drawback being dangerous, pay no mind to the supposed danger and just take it hundreds of times.

I could honestly care less about Generic Xianxia. Jumps from that entire Genre are nothing but massive power grabs, but that's just my personal opinion.

I was just saying that not everybody can follow a thread and modify a Jump at the same time. Give him a day, maybe two or more, and see if he posts as updated version that has taken some of the criticism into account. Bludgeoning a dead horse all night does no one any good at the moment.

>>52611507
Record, read the above comment. It's aimed as much as you as at the rest of the thread. Please consider /ALL/ of the criticism you have received tonight and not just the little bit you've been responding to. It may be worth changing the wording of the perk a little bit to make it less powerful.

Which I think is weird for a gauntlet, as those are supposed to be challenging in some way to justify your chain not ending. And it's very dependent on game mechanics besides, while the magic balancing one helps stuff match lore.

Like, it doesn't fit thematically at all within the context we've been presented.

>Which is a trope, not universal to all characters in Xianxia,
Not them, but are you literally retarded? There's no such thing as something universal to all characters in a given fucking genre. Tropes are the closest you'll get to something being "universal".
>>
>>52611602
You realise tropes are not absolute facts even in places where they apply? And that for a generic jump where you make the world yourself, you don't even need to have common tropes, but not universal ones, apply at all? Thus the 'danger' of the drawback is only there if you desire it to be and even if you have it in, it's not the 'everyone is an asshole hunting you' some try to paint it as unless you want it to be.

If the reasoning people give for it not being broken doesn't apply, the reasoning is flawed. Tropes don't always apply, especially when you make the world yourself, so tropes are flawed justification.
>>
>>52611604
A loophole implies there's rules lawyering going on.
It's just a drawback that extends your stay you can take loads of times.
That's not a loophole that's just a simple drawback.

Now you can say you don't like that it exists, but there's nothing inherently wrong with it. And it has happened before in a jump even if you might not have liked it then either. This is really just opinions at this point.

You know what would solve this instad of you acting like an apologist for him? Him posting one line that he's thinking about how to handle it.

With maybe 30 seconds of effort, 5 seconds if he shelled out for a 4chan pass, he just destroys any reason for the argument to continue. It'd be great if he did that but I doubt he will, because that'd mean he'd actually need to consider something I seriously do not believe he will change because of his own bias.

>Which I think is weird for a gauntlet, as those are supposed to be challenging in some way to justify your chain not ending. And it's very dependent on game mechanics besides, while the magic balancing one helps stuff match lore.

Here's the thing: Mystic Quest doesn't have much lore. It doesn't have a lot of depth to it. Like, I can't really go into the descriptions of a lot of the items because the game doesn't give me a lot to go off of, not even the manual.

And while gauntlets shouldn't be cakewalks, they shouldn't be ludicrously torturous and unreasonably difficult, either, otherwise who would want to take them?

Note that I said unreasonably difficult here.

This. I am trying to make improvements to the jump here, and yet since I'm apparently silent, I must therefore apparently be some sort of powerwanking meta fucktard.
>>
>>52611307
>Pools only merge if they work the same. So you should only merge, say, white magic spells per day with white magic themed magic styles that work on spells per day, and fanwanking the specifics of that should generally be left to the jumper.
This is about how much the game is a physics emulation engine vs an abstraction. The separate pools is less about the setting then the time period the game was made in. FF games use generic mana as their power source. Thus is a simplistic game that does not go into a lot of detail about stuff like that. The separate pools was more about not using all your spell points on Cures then it was that they came from separate pools. In fact when later games are remade that is why they are being given the MP pools by default instead of retaining old spell slots.

I agree this is sort of a fanwanking thing, and would combine them into the generic magic pool most systems use, because not being explicit about source does not mean it is it's own separate think.

I just did not want the text in the jump precluding that once the jump ends.

well, honestly, what did you expect? If you wanted people to know you were trying to do something, say you're doing something. Keeping silent only makes you look worse and lose support from people who might be neutral or supporting otherwise.

You want to know what good gauntlets are like? Look at LLTQ or Distant Sky. Your jump right now isn't a gauntlet. It's a small jump with the gauntlet rules slapped on and a limited timer. There's no reason for it to be a gauntlet other then that you couldn't find enough material, in which case it shouldn't be a thing until you can. It being this forced abortion of a gauntlet is one of the reasons it comes off as a power grab, because it's filled with actually great powers at low costs and has lots of easy drawbacks but there is no great danger or requirement as compared to other gauntlets.
>>
>>52611867
You made a claim. If you want me to put in effort, you do it too. Otherwise, why should I have to prove anything to you? If you've shown that you'll claim things without proof, why would me going to the effort of getting proof do anything to change your mind? You already make claims without proof.

Speaking as one of a few that got ignored, no, that's not the case. Record replied to posts yet answered only one line of multiple points those posts made until it was brought up again forcibly.

I can understand being slower on SB, even if I find the idea of being too slow to answer 4chan posts a sign of mental retardation, but not answering all of the post that you actually respond to is actually being ignored.

Yeah, I'mma be honest. My Jumper slacked off a lot in training, because like me, he's a lazy fuck. Willpower perks made it easier for me to stick with it out of necessity but I still hated it.

That is until I went to Naruto and took that perk that makes training enjoyable. Now I WANT to train as often as possible.

>>
Jumper how did you troll the Chaos Gods?

I spent more time then I should have just being such an enormous pain in their side.

For Khorne I killed a bunch of his champions and greater demons with Undertale magic. Which means that not only did I destroy their souls to prevent revival but I also did not spill a single drop of blood during the fight. Also the 'fights' really were just slaughters as they usually ended in pretty much 10 seconds.

For Slaanesh I not only destroyed the Dark Eldar race but I used Undertale magic to destroy all of their souls before they could go to it. Also killed Lucius and Fulgrim permanently

My very existence with anti Fate perks fucked with all of Tzeentch's plans.

For Nurgle, I cured a good amount of his diseases in a Chaos God vs Medical Jumper warfare and also perma-killed a bunch of his demons as well as Typhus.

I basically became the The Anathema 2.0 to them.

However if you are really attached to them I think that they would work better if they just affected the kind of thing you'd be getting in Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. Things like breaking the games level cap rather than busting open every powerset.
As is they're pretty crazy for a quick and easy JRPG.

Remove it. They do not need to be there. The heroes manage just fine without it. This is a gauntlet. If you're having an easier time then the heroes by just grinding for a while, the gauntlet has failed. If this were an actual jump, it could work with a bit of rewording (Though it would still be a shady addition) but as is, taking that perk turns the gauntlet into a matter of being patient enough to win.
>>
>>52612023
All I did was remove 99% of the chaos marines from the equation. Instead of sacking planets, Chaos had to be creative, and so you saw a lot more Lovecraftian eldritch shit. The Inquisition had a more defined purpose as a result.

1. Elona does work on mental stats.
2. Softcap only got a pass because I explicitly held it up as a softcap. I stressed how impractical it is to actually train beyond a certain point and the time it would take. The writing on this perk glosses over any difficulty or fluff and references a JRPG level system, which is very different from single skill or ability training. Beyond 41 may have similar issues, but the jump doesn't take time to explain that. It might also be a compounded issue considering how many people see the drawbacks as too easy.

I want to be called out for stuff like that.
>>
>>52612255
And just to reiterate, the majority of the problems that have been raised against the perk are not related to it's individual power but it's appropriateness and it's power in relation to the gauntlet it is in.
>>
>>52612255
>how many people see the drawbacks as too easy
gauntlet drawbacks are, and should be, easier than normal ones, since you start at 0 CP.
>>
>>52612255
>1. Elona does work on mental stats.
It does?

>Your skills and physical attributes (including your ability to cast spells) will never reach their apex.

I suppose as a secondary benefit to improving your skills and spell-casting, but there's lots of settings where "skill" is some mystical thing that doesn't necessarily depend on your mental attributes to get better. I suppose it's nice to have that feature, though.

Eh, fair enough. I just assumed it would be harder as a logical obstacle in increasing your abilities past a certain level. Like, few people IRL ever make the step from "Master" to "Historical-immortalized Genius", even though it's generally possible for them to do so.

>So shut up and let me push my buttons. You're not even doing that much, you pile of binary.
>>

If I had the time, freedom, money, and resources that certain jumps offer I think I could overcome my issues and make something of an impact. Even just being free from the shitty rules, restrictions, impossibilities, etc. of real life would help.
>>
So should I get rid of the capbreakers?
>>
>>52612256
Is this one of those really meta VNs?
>>
>>52612593
Nevermind that the NPC's are even bigger losers than the players, objectively.

Sure, you have no social life and no spouse. But that's still a consequence of your choices.

They're nothing but a bunch of ones and zeroes, with no free will. Even their insults toward your life are pre-programmed.
>>
>>52612604
What in the ever loving fuck are you talking about?
>>
>>52612606
Meta VN's where the NPC's insult the player for being a lifeless loser. The kind the anon I responded to was talking about.
>>
>>52612593
I'm gonna throw a random guess and say that's Ar Nosurge. Just because that's some fancy anime 3D and I recall that game being meta about how the player himself ties into the story.

It might be the best solution at this point. The others have made some valid points and I can't see much to be gained from leaving them in.
>>
>>52612615
Me? I wanted to know what it was and get a name if I could.

I get what you're talking about, but your reply to me just came out of nowhere because it didn't have any sort of introduction. You didn't say 'yeah that sort of thing is stupid because...', you jumped ahead in the conversation and confused me.

>>52612622
Maybe?
>>
>>52612604
One of these days, I want someone to make a game where there's a back and forth between the NPCs and the Player.

>God, you're such a loser, playing a game like this.
>Maybe I am. But do you know what you are?
>Umm...an NPC?
>A MISERABLE LITTLE PILE OF ONES AND ZEROES.
>>
>>52612589
I think it would be a good idea if you did.
Although I'm not sure what you could put in there instead
Maybe something to do with the handholdy nature of the world or something?
Just a suggestion.
>>
>>52612589
... diminishing returns? Or your limits rise to at least the level of your enemies so long as you're focused on beating them? (e.g. if normally you'd cap at level X, and the Big Bad who wants you dead is level X+5, you can reach X+5 so long as you remain focused on beating them rather than just running away to let someone else deal with them). Would that fit the lore (such as it is)?

Yes, Ar Nosurge is rather meta.
At that point the whole part of it was to see if you really loved her, instead of being someone who only cared about finishing the game or 100%.

Like Player 2.

>>
>>52612699
To stop having Renall commit suicide multiple times.
>>
>>52612674
Reminds me of that achievement for Analog: A Hate Story where your waifu asks you to make a cake and you have to actually bake a cake, take a picture, and email it to the developer in order to get the achievement.
>>
>>52612711
So we're supposed to waifu this girl who has people kill themselves to blackmail someone into 'proving' they love her?
>>
>>52612719
That sounds rather heartwarming.
>>
>>52612719
Oh man, Analog: A Hate Story. I haven't thought about that game in a while. That was some good stuff. Weird, but good.

No, I'm not making a Jump of it. Fuck that.
>>
>>52612734
It is if you actually do it. The game tracks how long it takes between you reading the recipe and clicking "okay, I made the cake", and if you're too fast and it's obvious you didn't really, Hyun-ae gets mad at you.
>>
Hey, guys. Guys? Since when did we get a Conspiracy Theory Gauntlet?
>>
>>52612733
This actually takes place in the Soulspace or mental world between Renall and Ion. The major point of this is the fact that Ion has been experimented on and kidnapped from her home, they even went as far to take away her original identity to have her believe she is the princess.

She has Renall commit suicide due to a shit ton of resentment that she's stored up to repent for not helping her since she was part of the organization that did said experiments.

She hates the fact that she can't go home but can't bring herself to hate the world she's in now. Which then leads to her apologizing to Renall for doing something so horrible after you reasure her you still love her even if you can't be together forever.

Yes, yes, not there like the Blame jump, we know.
All the jumps were rejected. By you. And you are the voice of Jumpchain. The drive is actually a IRC conspiracy.
>>
>>52612943
Actually, not him, but people really did throw a fit over that. Biggest complaint was the New Founding Fathers being equal to you if you take it as a jump thing, I think? >>
>>52612965
>Actually, not him, but people really did throw a fit over that.
You're taking my Purge gauntlet over my dead body. Without it how can you go to the Purge setting in the Hatred gauntlet and straight up murder the New Founding Fathers and get cool prizes for doing so?
>>
>>52613018
...with a purge jump? It's not like it'd be hard to do a basic jump for a setting with three movies. I could do it for you if you want.
>>

I posted most of the Power/Gimmick section a few threads ago, but I did finish the Phantasm's suit:

Phantasm Suit- The suit used by the mysterious Phantasm during their violent vigilante streak; the Phantasm suit uses some sort of technological fog, released from the glove, that allows the user to “teleport” short distances and even go intangible to avoid attacks if timed right. The mask also has voice changing technology, deepening the user’s voice to hide their identity, and the suit also features a clawed hand that is sharp enough to effortlessly slice through metal. (500 CP)

No items stipend though.
>>
>>52612999
>It really was rejected
Or it got accepted after more discussion in a later thread? I mean jumpchain does not stop existing just because you aren't here bitching about how whatever you don't like shouldn't be allowed on the drive.
>>
>>52613029
>I could do it for you if you want.
You volunteered.

>>
>>52613039

>>
Is jumpchain still active? I stopped coming here for a few months and was wondering if this place was dying after hitting a thousand threads.
>>
>>52613056
It's still fairly active, even if people think we're losing jumpmakers or whatever.
>>
>>52613056
Still going strong from what I can tell.
>>
>>52613031
There really wasn't discussion after, man. It was pure salt against Clover. See, while he was making the gauntlet, he was just sort of having fun with it, while the thread actually wanted a Purge jump. He also acted like he was some guy from SB or something, under the name Trifolium. People started to get pissy, and then after a certain point, he said "Oh, by the way, check the notes", where "Made by Clover" was inscribed. It was supposed to be a funny joke, but...people didn't take it well. The entire rest of the thread devolved into rage over it, and the next few threads were soaked in it as well.

The fact of the matter is, the jump really WAS rejected, because that one thing made people salty. Well, and they didn't like the jump/gauntlet. Okay, that's not fair, some people thought it was okay, but you get the picture.
>>
>>52613031
No, it wasn't. It was never "officially" posted by the jumpmaker, and never posted again after it was rejected. And fuck you for revitalizing the issue.

So, Drop-In is gonna be Field Hamster, which is a perkline based on Boss/Snoozer

What do you guys think of this perk? Is it too OP? I included another 400 CP perk from the same jump for comparison

How Are They Gonna Make It In The Outside World? (400 CP, Discount Field Hamster)
It’s tough for the little softies who haven’t had the hard life you have. It’s up to you to help them! You can teach a bunch of people weaker and less knowledgeable about the world with your streetwise (well, fieldwise) knowledge. Your grumpiness and blunt attitude will be tolerated as long as people know you’re acting this way for a good reason. People also flock to you under your care, and will at least lend an ear to your words. But some may question you if you happen to be wrong about certain things. But it doesn’t detract from your authority. Use this ability with care.

This Calls For Ham Ham Power! (400 CP, Discount Hamham)
Oh no! You’re in a scary situation! Your fat little body got stuck in a crack and now you can’t turn around and get out! This calls for Ham Ham Power! There’s a lot of willpower for tiny little thing like yourself (In fact, some would say it’s compressed as a result.), and you’ve got ingenious solutions to hopeless situations if you’re stuck in danger or someone else needs help! Such as crawling up the walls and nibbling a hole in the roof to get out. With you and your buddies, you’ll find most problems can be solved, if you plausibly could. Let’s all work together!
>>
>>52613030
>No items stipend though.
But the Bat family is supposed to get the cool gear. And the baddies the powers. how it goes.

Let's ask Solomon Grundy!
Mr. Grundy, do you think the Batmans and Robins of the world should get item only CP to represent access to Batman's Real Superpower?
>Solomon Grundy not rich man. Solomon Grundy need little extra help to pay wizards medical bills for bringing Solomon back from the dead. Solomon Grundy think giving the cool guys like Grundy CP for powers is good design choice. If you give batman CP for items, Solomon will just smash them to bits so Solomon feel good and powerful. Solomon also wonder why Magical Bayou on offer.
Thank you Solomon Grundy!
There you have it. Sectional CP stipends, a great idea, or the greatest idea?
>>
>>52613128
My God, Solomon Grundy is truly an inspirational speaker.

Dragons all died because the strongest dragon that ever lived, who is essentially the most powerful being that exists in that world, destroyed the entire world the dragons originally lived on, along with every other world besides the one which belonged to the humans.

Also, said super dragon is a time traveler from the future/reincarnated from the distant past, and basically is trying to destroy the human world too, and will inevitably succeed because every time he fails he just backtracks in time so he can try again.
>>
>>52613128

Why are you being pissy about something that already made it onto the drive.
Once it is actually added, saying it wasn't 'really' accepted is just trying to stir up shit.
Having something on the drive removed my shitposting like this would only make things worse.

He eventually becomes a dove with his own ghoul-lite squad, called Quinx. They're basically same thing as Kaneki but their organs are locked behind like frames. These frames limit the RC cells (the stuff that ghouls use for their various stuff). If they "frame out" they go full Ghoul, and are to be executed.

I'm actually kind of surprised it's on the drive myself, didn't realise that it was on there so I guess someone put it on there. How about you fucking educate yourself before you spout nonsense? If you weren't there and you don't actually know what happened, then you should sit down and shut up instead of "making a stand" for a vague ideal. It never made it onto the drive, you moronic souffle, it was outright rejected.

Here's it being rejected.

Here's the jumpmaker saying he intended to revamp it and pull it from the drive.
