I honestly think that the Witchelfs are by far the worst unit in the game. Thanks to having "-" armour they will always at best have their 6+6+ with you have a calduron and a highelf mage. Close comb at wise their only remarkable thing is that they can attack twice and have 3 attacks per model if you get all the support. But wounding on 4+ and no rend makes that pretty meh.

Have you thought about using and flexing you're conversion muscles? I'm thinking khorne bloodsecrator. Kitbash them with don't khorne bits and give them axes and nasty khorne blades. Bloodreavers are pretty good in large numbers backed by bloodsecrators. Have a blood crazy horde of femme fatales. It's all in the painting and embellishments

It's mostly impossible to build a bad Seraphon list. Even the worst bits are only merely slightly sub-par.
Do get a Bastillodon and some Saurus Guard, though. You'll always want those.

Your only answer to mortal wounds is a Bastiladon, which isn't much good otherwise, and you don't have many ways of doing them yourself. That's one of your weaknesses.

Your strength is in diverse unit choices. You have more choice and more unit variety than most other subfactions in the game. Play to that, and make sure you get at least one of everything (bar the ones that actually aren't worth it). Make sure you fill your toolbox so that you can deal with whatever other bullshit your opponent can throw at you.

Plus, having summoning means you can mix and match your list to counter your enemy's. Play smart and you should do fine.

Chaos is the same as always but Seraphon are order daemons instead of aztec lizards, Flesh-Eater Courts are deranged aristocrats instead of foot soldiers for the vampires, ogors raid with orruks and worship Gorkamorka while ogres had their kingdoms and worshipped the Great Maw. Bonesplittaz are the least changed but even they reside in a completely new environment and worship a new god. There's nothing different about Nurgle daemons, they still live in the Realm of Chaos and get summoned into the physical world by servants of Nurgle.

Seraphon are a "Jack of All Trades" army. They have the most varied army in the game and all of their units are average, but they have a lot of buffs that turn their units from average to very good.

They have a lot of great tricks like teleporting units literally anywhere on the board (even directly into melee with the enemy), rerolling every dice roll in the game (even your opponents dice!), and their artillery is stuck onto the back of tall monsters so enemies can't hide soft targets behind chaff units.

Their best features are their defensive units (Saurus Guard, Skink Priest, Skink Starseer), their monsters with shooting (Stegadon, Bastiladon), and their artillery units (Salamanders, Razordons). They take a lot of finesse to play properly but when you do everything right you can stomp most armies in the game fairly easily.

One of the high tier competitive lists involves the special character Lord Kroak destroying the enemy enemy army over 4 turns by himself.

If youre just starting out I reccomend a Start Collecting box, and then build up the army with Bastiladon, Saurus Guard, Terradons, and a Skink Priest.

Skeletons are good because Necromancers exist. One of the reasons Tomb King lists are the best in the game is because of the spell that Necromancers can cast on Necropolis Knights.

If youre playing a list with Skeletons you should absolutely bring a Necromancer.

the only thing that makes them sorta not horrible is the formation from the back of the dark elves compendium.

every 6+ to wound causes a mortal wound instead of its regular damage, and if a unit is wiped out by a unit from this formation then for the rest of the turn all the units in the formation get +1 attack.

It's pretty slow, so the Daemon Prince and Plague Drone combo will go nice with some speed and synergy shared between them. Great Unclean One looks awesome, but will reduce the potential model count a fair bit, and the model is a bit crap.

Lord of Plagues is nice for survival and gently buffing at a fairly low points value

Just not sure what the coolest way to take it might be

The difference now is that their appearances change depending on how the Slann "remember" them, and they've been infused with the power of stars and have liquid starfire for blood. Otherwise they're about the same.

They still ride pteradactyls and drop rocks on people, it's just now they're golden rocks of celestite which does whatever.

It's easy to get this wrong though as their own goddamn book is contradictory as to the nature of them, but based on how the fluff is written and the scenarios in the same book it's clear the seraphon are still physical individuals, just the Slann aren't holding back/got an upgrade and in turn upgraded them.

There is a single 2+ in all those warscrolls, and as I said, it's for the units that pays 60points for each shot.

It's obvious that if you take elite units they are going to have a 3+/3+ attack profile. It's been like that since the start of the game. Have you ever looked at swordmaster profile? or Phoenix guards? Or saurus guards? Or Chaos Chosen? Or Blood Knights? I can go on and on.

The point is, if a unit it's elite or more they are going to have at least a 3+/3+ unless they compensate with something else (Ironguts have a 4+/3+ but fucking damage 3).

Stormcast are full of them because they are also an heavy elite army.

Just look at tzeentch, which came out only a month before. Basically every new model has a 4+/3+ or worse.

It depends. I play Silvaneth and I found that a Tzeentch list with lots of Skyfires is really hard to fight if the opponents know what he's doing, but It could be just that I haven't yet learned how to fight them.

Stormcast is just a massacre for them. They are too slow to effectively engage the sylvaneth, and other than Retributors spam they have no way to fight treelords. All the games I have had against them where overwhelming victories. The last one Durthu alone destroyed 15 liberators, a lord Castellant, a lord Celestant, the Celestant Prime and 5 Protectors.

Hello people, I'm not an AOS player but I've been watching a few battle reports on Youtube. It is an entertaining game to watch, but there's one thing I might be missing.

When a single successful roll to wound deals multiple wounds, and those exceed the remaining number of wounds of the target of the blow, are the remaining damages distributed among other models?
And if yes, why? Isn't that supposed to be a single blow against a single target? Shouldn't 'massive attacks that hit multiple targets' be represented by multiple attacks?

Multiple wounds spreads to other models in the unit. It represents sweeping blows and cleaves. Like if a giant monster does a big smash attack, it is likely to crush more than just one dude under his fists or feet. Or if a dragon breathes fire, the flames engulf more than one model.

The amount of attacks a model has more represents the strength of his attacks rather than how many times he swings his arms.

Not an ork or nid player, but I know playing is only part of the hobby. Mostly my army collecting and building goal is to make a really cool looking army that I can proudly display. Not to win tourneys. Although I do pretty decent at most ones I attend.

I find competitive gaming can be fun if you lose your first game or 2 and that gets you to play with the other scrubs that aren't trying too hard and just want to get a few days of gaming in.

In AoS I have SCE and dispossed, building nurgle mortals. In 40k I have Tau, Inquisition, and dark eldar.

Winning and losing is only part of the game.

A good player will win some and lose some and enjoy his wins and learn from his losses and in general, have fun.

A bad player will NEED to win to get any enjoyment, either by running cheese lists to stomp opponents in friendly LGS games or by marching his army of all-guardsmen or all-fire warriors across the table and going into a rage when his flawless plan backfires horribly.

Orks and Nids CAN still win battles, mostly because a lot of people are unprepared for certain tactics they can do.

Ghouls are a nice battleline, but you won't be missing out. Zombies and Skellies do the same job for less points, albeit with less speed and oomph. Crypt Horrors/Flayers can also be battleline with the right courtier as General, but they serve a different purpose to the aforementioned units.

Honestly, I'd just get min. units of zombies, combine them once the game starts and plonk them on an objective. Lets you make whoever you want a General.
