this math seems wrong, you missed two premises

first off

Searing blasts are d8s

second

Empower Spell not only increases dice, but increases the bonuses to those dice as well, as per the SRD

16d8+16 empowered should be 24d8+24 = 132, putting it just over the edge of killing a CR10, in reality killing most, while leaving the rest in easy kill-ability by a follow up from a party member

A single target blast would be much more brutal, at 24d8 +48 putting it at 156, which i think can kill just about anything CR10, and since that would be a touch attack, is almost certainly going to hit and obliterate it unless its packing resist

Its probably packing fire resist as thats the most common, and a more realistic damage scenario is 24d6+48, which is 132, as per the area blast.

These are pretty good damage numbers, and you'll likely be punching well alongside a level 10 martial, who will also have trouble dealing 130+ damage

The realistic damage scenario is actually the d6 scenario, which will leave you not killing most equal CR enemies

This is why its preferable to use blast types that also apply conditions in many cases

Another choice is to use Thorn Blast, as it has an effective +1 per die in bleed damage, but then you have to worry about DR and Bleed immunity

You're simply not going retarded enough with your spell points and activating your inner megumin.

Simply put, we add arcane empowerment, overcharge, and metamagic expert to the base spell, which scores us a cool 21d6, and then we empower that for a hot and nasty 31d6

without arcane empowerment (and thus wasting EVEN MORE spell points), we can still take it to 19d6, which gets us up to 28d6

which on an AOE blast would give us 28d8+28, a beautiful 154 damage, aww yiss. (170 if you go full retard)

I try not to take drawbacks and traditions into account. Though the original build did account for overcharge.

Also, whats up with your math. Like the end result is the same, but everyone I know would mark it as (21d6+X)*1.5 as opposed to empowering the number of dice directly.

Help me get my head around PoW here, I think there are a handful of disciples that benefit from jacking their associated skill to insane levels. Scarlet throne comes to mind, probably others. Do you actually take feats like skill focus to help this? Are there items other than the basic master work tool equivalent that does the job?

Tips would definitely be great so I can make the most of it.

I'm trying to make something for the game I'm running and long story short demons. One is an incubus that can "summon" soldiers of lust to fight against the PCs, but they need a weapon.

Not him but Legacy of Fire's just inexplicably messy, it's clumsier than their previous APs starting right off at a player's guide that tells you nothing about what you're doing, how to build your character mechanically, and giving you the weirdest list of campaign traits yet.

In the actual books, it's really light on fluffing out the NPC and wastes a lot of text on details the players would never dig up. It kind of feels like someone was working on it as a pet project and the team forgot to double check before releasing.

The character art I picked... Has semen on her face. And even cropping so it's just her face...

It's still OBVIOUSLY semen on her face, with a trailing of sticky icky leading off to one you know whats.

But she's perfect. The clothes, the expression, the body shape and overall style. It's almost exactly what I imagined my char to look like. Like the artist reached into my brain, grab the concept I had, and drew her exactly as I'd like her to be. But the only art this artist drew of her has her giving a handy to two overweight dudes, who shot off all over her face.

I'm almost tempted to email the artist and ask if he'd be willing to draw her again if I cough up some cash.

Quick question: I'm normally a GM, but I have a chance to play for once, and I'm taking it. Level 4, core only. What should I play that balances effectiveness and fun? At first I was thinking a swashbuckling Bard, but now I'm not sure. What can I do that has a roughly equal efective:fun?

On a whole he is certainly not the worst player and is better than average, the thing I have to say is that he is different than most people.

He forgets and misremembers things the same as most folks, but won't sperg out about it

Overall he is very numbers and details oriented. By this I mean for stuff like how much currency he has both on his person and stored in various places. He specifies where things are he likes to carry around a lot of mundane gear and will list if it's in his backpack, on his horse, at home, etc..

It's very obvious he tried hard to get invested in the world around him, both from a character perspective with friendly NPCs and from does stuff like hires people, pays for long time services example would be he purchased a membership to a country club in my game and would go hunting with a baron once a month, builds homes/business, etc. He is one of the few people I have met who actually name/involve their familiar in the campaign they are in. He had a rat named Orved who would act as the party's scout often, played him as a separate character with a personality that actually matters he and his own familiar would disagree on things.

He is EXTREMELY character goal oriented. He pics a goal and pursues it. This is a good and a bad thing, but it means he has a direction and personally I say it's better than directionless players.

Paranoid as fuck, plans out encounters meticulously when he can. However when push comes to shove I have found his characters he had two, one died will almost always put themselves in harms way to try and make sure the party is safe.

Generally the bad bits are he will misinterpret things over text, but only a bit more than most folks. That's the only real bad thing. Plus he gets sick often, apparently he has some issues with chronic chest pain and it caused him to miss games.

That's not really a good idea. If your GM's the type of person--male or female--to hand out free shit because you're fucking them, they're the kind of personality that's going to turn on you.

You will either push too far, or they'll get bored of you. They will likely either kick you from the game group or start passive-aggressively dicking you over in game. The damage potential of the Destruction sphere is heavily GM-dependent, because it relies on:

1. Whether or not the GM allows the Sacred Blast advanced talent for Destruction.

2. Whether or not the GM allows a sorcerer focus sphere to stack with an incanter sphere specialization.

3. Whether or not the GM allows custom blast talents using the point-buy creation in the Destruction handbook.

The more of these the GM allows, the stronger Destruction will be.

This is why it is very difficult to judge the actual strength of Destruction: it is more GM-dependent than most builds, because Spheres of Power was written in a very loosey-goosey manner with regards to how compatible it is with regular Paizo options.

For example, the old build here ( https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/48382763/#48382882 ) operates under the assumption that the GM allows only #1 from this list. It would be much stronger if the GM allowed the rest of the options in this list, all the more so by later levels.

This is the "all day" version of the Spheres blaster build, however; there are "nova" builds involving metamagic and/or the Time sphere that expend a glut of resources for a single powerful shot.

That said, for a more out-of-the-box-powerful blaster who must worry little of daily resources, you are probably better off with an Overcharge Modulation area shape avowed.

Is DHB really that bad?

I was recently invited to play in a my first Pathfinder game.

Whenever I read about Pathfinder I get tons of stuff like tier lists, build guides and stuff like that. Do I need to care about this? Afaik we will play using the Core rules and maybe the advanced player's guide.

Whenever I come up with something that seems fun, I get the feeling that I'm painting myself into a corner with the color of bad.

I've recently been looking at creating a muscle cleric (Think Armstrong from Fullmetal Alchemist, minus Alchemy, plus Warhammer & Religion), mostly because I really like the Idea of buffing myself and whacking a fool. Also the travel Domain gives me Dimensional Hop which I really like.

She's a fae girl he had from an encounter with a huldra in the woods, and has been trying to give her the best life she could in a village that clearly sees her as an infiltration by the children of Titania.

The reasons she isn't present in the game start are iffy, but I've been oscillating between her using a Tome to try and "become human," using a Tome to defend herself from the village while dad was away, or was whisked away from the village by a dragon after some asshole used a Tome to defend the village from the dragon, who was there specifically to incinerate the Tome.

Honestly I'm all ears if you've got ideas on how the Tome relates to this backstory. It's very much, "boy meets girl, girl is a monster. Boy does not care, but village does. Boy becomes outcast but has his daughter so everything is alright UNTIL..."

We did the math, and it takes specific domains, and a very, very specific cleric build at 8th level and almost all of his fearts to match a fighter who just uses his bonus feats alone at the same level (as in not using his standard feats). And he can do this only as many times a day as he can cast his 3rd and 4th level spells and has uses of his domain abilities.

Clercial self-buffs got a much needed nerf by no longer stacking as well as they used to, and losing persistence 3.5 version cost them the fighter niche.

There is certainly an "eww old man" stigma associated with older male characters, but it's not hard at all to get rid of it by writing a realistic character with fatherly habits and tendencies.

Astral Skin has long been the standard for Aegis.
However, I didn't run around in a slutty zero-suit - not playing a woman. Astral Skin is just a handy powerfield sustaining and upgrading whatever armor you *are* wearing.

So *MOST* of the time skin-mode astral suits are just "well that guy must be wearing magic something" with that light hazy field effect we see coming off Samus' armor in the Prime games. It's a different story if one ever has to fight naked of course.
