So help me figure something out here.

So I was making a character for a campaign where we were starting higher level. I ended up making a natural attacking Brutal Slayer with Primal Fury and Broken Blade. I got the idea to have one level of Unchained Monk since my DM was allowing me to do Master of Many Styles, and I was going to go Dragon Style and Dragon Ferocity alongside the Primal Fury Style feats. A friend of mine nitpicked that the one level wasn't worth what I gave up for slayer given our likelihood of getting to level 20. Also yes I know Primal Fury Style and Dragon Style have some overlap, I like moving through allies and enemies as well as ignoring difficult terrain when running/withdrawing and the damage boost Dragon Style (and later Ferocity) give.

I don't agree with him and I'd like some input. How is getting 3 feats in one level (Improv Unarm, Stunning, Style Feat of choice), no BAB loss, getting higher HP for the level, getting +2 more on Fort and Reflex (for -1 Will on a already high will save character), getting Wisdom to AC (since I was going to go next to no armor anyways), as well as the fact that taking all of those feats in that one level makes the rest of my feat progression easier (since I don't have to somehow had 13 dex for Stunning Fist and individually spend a feat on Improv Unarm) and opening up my late game feat choices... not equivalent to the capstone, one maneuver known, and one maneuver readied? It just doesn't make any sense. I feel like he's putting way too much weight into that 1 maneuver and capstone.

Hardmode: Can't be two moms.

Planning to make a Investigator Tiefling PC but I want him to have a very "Contract Demon" feel to him. Is there any such feats/spells/abilities that I might be able to recieve to build upon this? Hell even if I changed my class I don't remember anything that can achieve this. I'd want to focus on making Infernal Pacts/deals instead of outright stealing peoples souls with cacodaemon, creating soul gem, trap the soul, soul bind, though I'm willing to implement these into a class build if possible with a class other than investigator. I mainly want to play this character as a skill monkey who does little to no combat. And I'm fairly uneducated with the Alchemist class/class abilities. Would that aspect of the investigator allow me to cast such spells through brews later on?

I'm currently reading into it as I've just got the character design in my head, though there is still a hell of alot I'm unsure of.

Going by pure statlines posted, the highest Cha is Marianne. I'd assume an optimized Bard for Calsicahedrix, so she has at least 16 or more Cha. Otherwise Aisha might sub in, as her current build is 16 Cha too.

If we're going full Fire Emblem/Crusader Kings cosmic eugenics ghost simulator mode, the ideal mode is probably having Ulfric and Rorymei pair up with Calsicahedrix and Marianne, and then arranging a marriage between the best-looking of their kids.

Skyrim's a fun game, a decently immersive game, an objectively good game in most respects.

It gets a lot better if you manage to clean up some of its flaws with mods or add in extra content to your tastes--like an extra adventure or dungeon, maybe some interesting NPCs. Or waifus, 'cause fuck it.

But it doesn't have the depth, the narrative complexity, or the sense of a fantastic and fleshed-out world that Morrowind had. I got on around there so I can't speak for Daggerfall, and having tried Arena I'd say it's actually probably one of the lesser in that it was the first game in the series and hadn't allowed the devs to find a comfortable niche just yet. But Skyrim is definitely a downgrade except in terms of mechanical simplicity.

Sort of. It does have some advantages (can be used with Su abilities, doesn't require you to use a one-handed weapon), but it hurts because you're replacing your first attack, rather than getting an off-hand attack. On the plus side, you'd don't have to go magus if you don't want to.

I got invited to a campaign where they'll be playing the Emerald Spire Module. I feel kind of uncertain about taking up the offer (like the people, not sure about the campaign).

Sound Striker Bard
Vox Mesmerist

Either of those should work.

Sound Striker Bard is more of a leadership role with the ability to shout at enemies to deal out damage.
Standard Bard fare for stats, high Cha with survivability after that.

These Bards inspire allies and can use subsequent actions to shout at enemies, damaging them from safety behind allies.

Vox Mesmerist is more battle-based rather than leader-based, but requires specific investment in one route.
Strong Melee: Cha > Str > Dex/Con > Wis
Finesse Melee: Cha > Dex > Con > Wis

These Mesmerists require a combat discipline and are very tight in terms of feats and stats. You need to survive in the front, but still deal damage and your damage is reliant on your weapon damage AND your Cha, and due to Ranged Touch on top of that, you also need Dex.

Aether Focus does not work for most practical purposes.

You've taken down the entire offensive side due to a few fringe possibilities that were mostly powered by a single feat, but the low-end that was already too low was caught in the crossfire as well. Steel's Betrayal and the old Overcharge were causing problems, but we warned you before that their biggest issue was your output was extremely subpar if you didn't have them too.

It's time to UPtune things.

As someone who's played Emerald Spire as a player I'll let you know now that the floors of this particular mega-dungeon are going to be very frustrating for your GM if you guys are even somewhat decent at optimizing.

My group and I have been playing for a few years so we know our way around the system, and in the Emerald spire there are two types of floors: floors that will absolutely destroy you and your squad, and those that you will absolutely destroy. The reason for this is that EVERY floor was designed by different people, some of which had never designed actual dungeons before and only written lore.

Inform your GM that once you get to about level 4-6 he's going to want to look into modifying the dungeons himself to make the monster encounters more engaging and challenging, otherwise you're just going to steamroll over encounters with single monsters in a room with very loose lore-based reasons why they're there.

As a straight rogue, you really can't. A ninja who is built around throwing shuriken can pull this off, but unfortunately it doesn't come online until level 10 when they pick up greater invisibility.

If your GM allows Path of War you can do it with the Hidden Blade archetype, since many of Tempest Gale's maneuvers specifically allow you to avoid attacks of opportunity, which means you get into melee range, flank an enemy and get your sneak attack damage.

As for everybody else? You're looking in the wrong kind of setting.
