I've made good use of summoned/bound demons to fight against evil and do good work. Loved the Malconvoker back in the day.
Even got into a theological debate about how casting planar binding on a demon is inherently evil, but doing it to a celestial is inherently good. Course the way the wheel works in Pathfinder makes things a little odd, since it's clear that every outsider is just a mortal soul that has been changed by the planes in some way or another.

Kinda makes you think about how mortals are just the juvenile form of greater beings, so there is the whole 'good parenting' vrs 'serve your elders' thing there to.

It was always weird to me how the traits in WotR all lend towards young PCs when it's got a gritty war set up.

I think that trait, out of all of them, is the most specific in its requirements for the background, in that you MUST have been kidnapped as a child, and MUST have been rescued by a very particular mysterious woman.

A threat is another way to say a crit. Technically when you crit, you only threaten a crit, and you have to confirm that crit by rolling again.

It means a weapon with a 19-20 crit range only counts that for melee, when you throw it it's just 20.

Okay fuckers I'll keep this short and simple. I've just unleashed a plague in the city where the characters live. One of them owns a tavern and the others kinda revolve around it, either working there or performing there or hanging out in the street nearby... they all have some link to it.

So they've been fighting a cult which has now just unleashed a weaponized super-charged plague onto the city.

Now, I want this plague to be actually deadly. Not the stupid-ass diseases in Pathfinder, like the zombie plague in the bestiary that I figured out only has like a 1 in 1000 chance of killing a commoner. I want this plague to be basically Ebola or the Black Plague. It will wipe out the city if not stopped and might even kill a PC or two. I want it to be cold and cruel and really fuck up the PCs.

So here's what I have so far:

Caster level check against DC 20 is required for cure disease to work on a victim.

Incubation 3 days, frequency 1 per day for saves

I set the Fortitude DC at 18 but might raise it to 20. For a commoner with a +0 Fort save, though, that cuts the chance of survival to one third of what it was before, though.

Two consecutive saves to cure the disease. Considered 3 but that felt almost too frustrating.

And it deals Con and Str damage. My biggest question is, how much of each should it deal.

At first I felt like going big for 1d6. But that might way too much. I am currently thinking 1d4. I know that's big for disease but keep in mind I seriously want to risk this disease killing a party member. Like a 50% chance that at least one of the six PCs will die. They are 4th level so decent saves. So maybe 1d4+1? is that "legal"? I dunno.

What do you guys think? I really want disease to be a real danger for once, not just some annoying inconvenience.

Very brief overview of what went down last session. We're about to take on the last castle and boss of the arc, but for now we're taking a two week hiatus as a few players are doing some traveling and going to PAX.

The party is an Epic-6 party (levels are capped at 6) and have managed to recruit/enlist some Orcs, a group of crusading paladins and clerics, and an Ogre Mage to attempt to hunt down an undead abomination. The group is in the abomination's lair, and are down to party, Ogre mage, 2 crusaders, and 2 orcs.

I want one of the orcs and one of the crusaders to die dramatically in the final fight (They are attempting to stop the abomination from completing his negative-energy-nuke), but I'm not sure how.

Any suggestions?

I actually intend to have both orcs and 1 of the crusaders die in the final fight, i just already have it written how one of the orcs will die- (collapses a pillar on himself to drop the artifact that the undead abomination is using to power his not-nuke)

The orcs in my setting are kind of religious zealots, and they had been commanded to kill the abomination, so he will do it willingly.

It's finding reasons for one of the human crusaders and the other orc to die in this fight that are difficult. I can't do 'swarmed by enemies', as this adventure was written with the crowd-control fighter in mind, so that it is up his alley mechanically, and that will seem like he failed.

I'm thinking something involving using turn undead for the crusader? The other orc is a cleric if that matters.

Also, everyone is level 6, so the party isn't that strong.

Daemons are evil because they want to indulge themselves in carnage and have an evil goal, devils are evil because their goal is to enslave and dominate all things and then torture them for fun, demons are evil because they indulge in their own desires at the expense of all other creatures. Titans are evil because they view the creation imperfect and thus under them Qlippoth just want to fuck things up and be alone in the abyss, but their evil stems from utter and complete disregard for every single thing other than themselves and the manners they deal with others, that is spreading pain and insanity just because that's what they do.

So I'm looking into playing an Eldritch Archer magus, but I'm not exactly digging the arcane bond bullshit, since if that item gets taken from me I'm basically fucked for casting spells or using scrolls.

Time's up, the answer for the second most FLEX goddess is;

A tie between Iomedae and Desna. Iomedae because it takes some massive lady-balls to just say "no, fuck your rules, I make my own" to literally the most powerful gods in the universe. Desna because she goes around nekkid in outer space and constantly fights against the most powerful demon in the existence and a giant stirge. Millani is cool and all and has done some lady ballsy things, yes, but she has yet to tell a god to drink piss. I was considering also Shelyn for she has great gains and lean muscles and fought his emo dickhead brother without going Zyphus on us.

You may debate and even bring up counterpoints and I will change my mind if you prove your FLEX goddess being more FLEX than Desna and Iomedae, for that is the spirit of sportsmanship!
