So Jumpers, what do you when your waifu is already spoken for?
>>
>>51850153
Hasn't happened because I only have a waifu and husbando and both were single at the time.

Now how many times someone else had flirted with either of them not realizing they were married is a much higher number.
>>
Jumpers!

Of your properties which ones do you use/deploy often and which are forgotten?
>>
>>51850153
Depends. Part of a harem and isn't the main one? Steal her away before she gets with the guy. Otherwise I just try to make her happy/make sure the guy isn't a prick.
>>

Portable House from Generic Xianxia. So comfy.
I also have like a Sky Palace but it's too impersonal and cold.
Oh I also got a nice piece of importable land with a temple dedicated to my worship. But it's a bit tacky, don't you think?
>>
>>51850153
Seduce her husbando, too.
>>
>>51850153
Hasn't happened. I only waifu pieces of myself because I'm sure the only person who would ever like me is a lesser version of myself.

I can't find solid info did DOOM really nail Invisible Woman?
>>
>>51850232
He did when he was God Emperor Doom. Well it was implied but still.
>>
>>51850232
He brainwashed her when he became God and made her his consort.
>>
>>51850182
In fantasy settings I usually use The Caravan from Van Helsing

In modern settings I just have a generic apartment (there are too many versions to be specific) and a business (usually either a tailoring empire or the business from Resident Evil)

Similar with scifi settings but sometimes I also have a space station and I run a bar, but that's usually constructed in Jump.

I have a several castles, land ownerships, and other properties, but they are rarely deployed.

But a single business and single housing location is my normal combo unless I can do both like with The Caravan.
>>
>>51850263
Girls love God Emperors. Also in an alternate universe he was a good guy and had children with Sue.

Be the better option (before she is Route-locked) and let her choose, and yes, I was rather shameless about it.

> Hello Rin. Look at Shirou, now back to me, now back to Shirou, now back to me. Sadly, he isn't like me. But he could use the First Magic, then he could be something like me. Look down, back up, where are you? You're in a cross-dimensional home with the most private workshop in existence, next to the magician Shirou wishes he could be like. I can make All The Gems.

...let's just say that Rin's never ever let me live it down.
>>
>>51850285
I'm pretty sure Yamcha and Bulma had already broken up by the time Vegeta arrived on Earth.
>>
>>51850197
Speaking of... Changed Archipelago for more permanent 'deployment'.

>>51850232
In at least two continuances but as soon as she get's a ring on her finger the best you'll get out of here is spelunking naked (Panther), steamy makeout sessions (Namor), and sexual tension (Doom).

>>51850285
Funnily enough they were over with a while before that happened. I believe she dumped him for looking at some other chick or something like that.
>>

Romance them anyway if they're not in a relationship when I meet them.

If they're already in a relationship when I meet them, I don't really romance them.

Thought my wording was be terrible on that point as well but I'm still trying to figure out how to word it properly. Basically it will keep any changes even if you don't want it to, as long as those changes aren't like carryover characters or something like that, trying to avoid an infinite Pods problem, so if someone managed to nuke your Archipelago somehow it'd carryover until you fixed it.

Yes sir today is a good day.

On another note. Build time.

Street Fighters Jump 084:
CP: 1000
Drawbacks:
Big World [+000]
Extended Stay [+000]
Misunderstandings [+200]
Strongest in the World [+300]
Black Moons [+300]
Location:
Origin: Rouge
Perks:
Combat Method (Wing Chun) [Free]
The Street Fighter [-500]
Unassuming [Free]
Instant Ninja [Free]
Traditional Ninja [-300]
Tandem Style [-300]
Tranquility [-100]
Gear:
Tanden Engine [-600]
Fake ID [Free]

You may be wondering just what the fuck is up with the build. Well this is basically what Gil looks like if he had control of Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, and Wood in addition to also being Seth. Because I hated those bosses so fucking much I seek to simulate the amount of raw hate that kind of fighting style can create in a man.

Eh, it might be better to remove that, desu. What happens if it's entirely destroyed? How do you repair something that doesn't exist? Also, there's going to be a lot of shit it picks up that can't be removed until you're almost omnipotent, simply by virtue of going to specific settings. Like, environmental effects, especially supernatural ones.

>Eh, it might be better to remove that, desu.
I might consider it.

>What happens if it's entirely destroyed?
The it is, in point of fact entirely destroyed. Granted if you are going places where an entire Archipelago is vanished then maybe you shouldn't really be using what amounts to your summer house(s) front yards as an arena.

>How do you repair something that doesn't exist?
I'm not sure that I understand the question here. Do you mean how do you repair something that has been made to not exist by some means, if so see above, or are you saying that the Archipelago doesn't exist.

>Also, there's going to be a lot of shit it picks up that can't be removed until you're almost omnipotent, simply by virtue of going to specific settings. Like, environmental effects, especially supernatural ones.
A few examples of these? I can't think of anything off the top of my head that would adversely effect the Archipelago, but that just might me drawing a blank here.

So after FF14, my starting companions are...
>The entire Hildebrand gang.
>Shantotto, AKA Gruntilda the Witch in short form.
>Claire Farron, a clone of Lightning who only has two settings: 'Fighting/Waiting to fight'.

Anyone else go out of their way to pick up a ragtag bunch of misfits as opposed to anyone competent or practical? Waifus don't count.

These are the first companions for my main chain, too. It's exactly as frustrating as it sounds.
>>
>>51850551
>Jumpers, how do you handle being older than most people's family trees put together?

1.by having my own family tree older than most civilizations.

2. Maintaining the distance of leadership.
>>
>>51850153
I don't have waifus in the first place but why even bother with flawed canon waifus when you can create better ones for yourself either in the lab, with magic or buy one with CP?

>Jumpers, how do you handle being older than most people's family trees put together?

Be super casual about it whenever it comes up, but never volunteer it.
>>
>>51850767
So... Do you just get an appropriately-sozed section of ocean to build off of, then? Or the archipelago is gone forever, never to ever be used again.

>A few examples of these? I can't think of anything off the top of my head that would adversely effect the Archipelago, but that just might me drawing a blank here.
You roll the Eye of Chaos for a WH40k location. Your island now carries the warp with it.

You go to a space opera, the planet you're on happens to get swallowed by a black hole.

There are quite a bit more, and you can't do anything about them until you're effectively omnipotent.
>>
>>51850153

Is there an Eldrazi in Innistrad? Cause the Eldrazi wiki says that "Jace Beleren managed to communicate with a conceptualization of Emrakul within his mind while on Innistrad." I'm asking more out of curiosity cause I took Innistrad rather early and I'm not prepared to deal with an Eldrazi.

http://mtgsalvation.gamepedia.com/Eldrazi#cite_ref-19

Roughly there.
>>
>>51850932
An Eldrazi will come during the jump to eat everything, yes. But if all goes as in canon it'll be eventually contained within a moon.
>>
>>51850922

>>
>>51850912
Better question is, why would a centuries (if not millennia) old Jumper find interesting a random 16 year old character?
>>
>>51850948
That's fine then. Doesn't that give the jumpers a chance to companion a Planeswalker then? Although desu I'm just glad I don't need to deal with the Eldrazi on my own.

Probably being a bit unsettled before ignoring her existence.

Interestingly, just to distinguish the two, I gave Claire the dry wit perk and a pair of glasses identical to Briardien's. I regretted my decision almost immediately, but she went from 'stoic and stubborn' to 'stoic and snarky'.

I think Claire would hate her original, honestly.

Yes but they usually turn competent after my mandatory training regiments. Like those orphans from biomega

I prefer to live with everything my waifus bring with them and watching them grow.

Actually, no. I didn't do the bit with the Cloud of Darkness, or Phase 3 of the Scenarios.

This was jump 8 and my chances of survival rapidly declined as time went on, even with years of grinding/training and a Free Company with me. I'm not the Warrior of Light, dammit, I can't do these things all the time.

I'll see if I can't pod Ultros later, though.

>So... Do you just get an appropriately-sized section of ocean to build off of, then? Or the archipelago is gone forever, never to ever be used again.
The former sounds fair.

>You roll the Eye of Chaos for a WH40k location. Your island now carries the warp with it.
Depends really on how you personally set up the interaction between the real world and the Archipelago. If you wish it to be 100% real, just hidden in a space 'not on any map' then that's up to you. You deploy a door to this place, the massive fog bank I note in the description, not that you deploy this as a property, but the interactions between the Archipelago and the other Jumps is up to you as the Jumper.

On an aside having a perfectly demon-less section of Warp would be beneficial I'd think, but I'm no expert on Forbidden Knowledge (Warp).

>You go to a space opera, the planet you're on happens to get swallowed by a black hole.
My above statement stands.

>There are quite a bit more, and you can't do anything about them until you're effectively omnipotent.
Or if you've went to Either Dark Cloud Jump and Anno 2070.
>>
>>51850858
Sometimes I feel like my jumper naturally gravitates to anyone quirky outside of romance. Martel and Dhaos are the only semi-competant people outside of my harem. And Dhaos has massive rage issues.

When I pick up the Eds in the Ed Edd n Eddy Gauntlet, I could probably have enough for a quirky miniboss squad.

Like...

Jerry from Undertale, Game Boy from Captain N, The Grail from Carnival Phantasm, my pokemon, and now all three Eds.
>>
>>51850153
Make a friend instead. You can't always get what you want, even as a Jumper. Unless you want to be a scumbag about it. But sometimes friends can be just as valuable as waifus.

>>51850197
Well, I just recently acquired it, but Dirge's Spirited Away Jump (Sen to Chihiro No Kamikakushi) gives you a massive Hot Springs Inn that you get to customize. It's pretty sweet stuff. Admittedly, you have to run it for the ten years you're in the universe, but that's not really too hard to manage.

The Dolls I picked up from Nechronica appreciated the fact I gave them the chance to have a semi-normal childhood in Spirited Away, so now they take care of the place for me. It's a great hub for Companions. I mean, who doesn't enjoy a hot springs bath?

>>51850634
Wrong, Sure, it'll hurt when you go, but ten years is a lot of time. Missed friends can give you strength in your darkest moments to carry on. After all, don't you want to see them again?

>>51850551
>Jumpers, how do you handle being older than most people's family trees put together?
Well, I'm really not. At least not yet. I /am/ getting closer to the big 300 though.

Anyways, it's not really that big of a deal. Age, Form, and Gender have been much less a defining part of who I am since I can change all three at will. It's the Soul that really matters. Though I suppose I can make those too now.

Hmm...

>>51850858
>ragtag bunch of misfits...
That pretty much describes my taste in Companions, yeah. Considering I have a Nazi Vampire, a Demonic Sorceress, the universe's Best Friend, a Spider Baker, a Wizard of the Forest, a Demonic Vampire, and a Slime Girl making up my current party. Might add Boy Hero into the mix too if I can pull him away from Stretchy Dog Demon.

... I'm pretty sure I'm going way over my 9 Companion Limit this time around. I'm going to have to organize Squads or something.

Huh, speaking of which-having looked up the mentinoed fight, I gotta say Barbadium's a lot more brittle than I imagine. I mean, I know it was the Monkey King and rammed the riyu jingu bang AND a bunch of riyu jingu bang clones all the way in that little scratch, but after that whathisface got pummeled by someone's foot. Admittedly, someone who'd been fighting on par with Monkey King guy up until then.

The holding souls part's still useful, though. It'll make a good alloy with cuendillar, mantra, octiron and all the other metals which make up my personal magical metal: Bloodimindium.

>Or if you've went to Either Dark Cloud Jump and Anno 2070.

Aren't exactly correct. You could always just re-import all those properties back into the Archipelago. I was just noting that real, permanent damage holds over unless you actually go through the trouble of fixing it.
>>
>>51850197
Well, technically, all the houses that I get tend to blend together into The House, thanks in part to the House of Mystery.

Houseruled that all the perk does is to grant my current house the basic dimensional magic bs of the House of Mystery. Then I figured, eh, let's go full ham and have every single (almost) property Item add something to The House.
>>
>>51851145
I like your style.

You just need to add more violence to your Jumper.
>>
Assuming no one spots any problems with this I think Gearhead perks are finished.

Man and Machine (300cp, Discount Gearhead): The line between man and machine can be blurry in a world like this, but you can almost make it just disappear. You’re a wizard with the art of cybernetic design and implantation, able to design and then install a piece of technology into someone’s body with incredible proficiency. Beyond just making the body embrace it as a natural if new part of itself, where you truly shine is in finding ways to integrate all kinds of technology into these implants. You’re able to effectively use all the space provided in an implant or augment without compromising it’s base function. Arms can be filled with all kinds of gadgets without ever degrading their base functionality, and a prosthetic organ could be upgraded several times over without any concern for it failing.

Is it immoral to make your ships happen?

For instance if I wanted to help Supergirl and Lena Luthor get together in the Arrowverse jump. And I used my charisma and persuasion perks to get them to that point.

Would that qualify as abusive or merely eccentric?
>>
>>51851488
Yes, it's immoral.
But it's for a good cause.

Let the love flow~
Just clean up behind you~
>>
>>51851488
>Would that qualify as abusive or merely eccentric?
It depends on how rich you are. Poor people can't be eccentric, only crazy.
>>
>>51851585
I'm getting mixed signals here.
>>51851591
I am absurdly rich. So that makes it fine, right?
>>
>>51850858
Well, I didn't go out of my way to recruit ragtag misfits, but my current companions/followers are:

>A mummy-queen who was my wife in a past life who wants a return to the luxury and power we had as the rulers of Egypt

>A snarky British scientist who wants to obtain ultimate scientific knowledge and isn't very enthusiastic about directly engaging in heroic activities

>A mildly psychotic doctor savant who's a bit socially inept and has a bad habit of seeing people as playthings due to being raised in a society run by mad scientists

>A hexer of ambiguous gender who refuses to share their name and wears dark, body concealing robes and a strange mask, and is also often one of the more upbeat members of the party

>The wraith/ghost of a young woman killed in the sixties possessing a 1958 Plymouth Fury who has a tendency to road rage

>A ghost dog named Barkley

And then there's me, an average Joe who was turned into a sentient zombie and sent on an adventure through the multiverse by a fae-like benefactor.

...so, uh, we just sort've ended up as a ragtag bunch of misfits.
>>
>>51851655
>mixed signals
From what? Just because something is immoral doesn't mean it isn't good. After all, killing is immoral, but executions can serve the greater good of the public.

As for the other thing, well I don't know about you, but I really don't like accidentally sitting in someone else's fluids.
>>
>>51851488
Yes, it's amoral and wrong unless they were in an abusive relationship or in something even more forced like Korra

>>51851655
>I am absurdly rich. So that makes it fine, right?

No
>>
>>51851714
>something even more forced like Korra
?
>>
>>51851758

The legend of Korra, I would explain the entire reason but I am tired of getting angry every time I think of that show
>>
>>51851488
You're the Jumper.Nothing that a Jumper does can be considered wrong.

And anyone who says otherwise is wrong.
>>
>>51851758
Basically its only okay to pair someone up in a new relationship if its a relationship that Anon didn't like, like Korra and Asami's from the show.

Personally if some anon wants to play matchmaker, so long as their not assholes or directly causing a detriment to someones life or happiness I see no issue with it.
>>
>>51851758
I think he's talking about how Korra and Asami hooked up out of nowhere at the end of the series in what was blatently an asspull by the creators to try and look hip & trendy for the LGBT activist crowd. Despite the fact that, no matter what they say, there was absolutely no foreshadowing for it while there WAS a certain amount of palpable tension with them and the boys.

No idea why he's so angry about it, though. Series went to shit quickly barring the fight scenes, so I just focused on those.
>>
>>51851488
>Is it immoral to make your ships happen
No, why would it? Plenty of people in real life make a living off of match making. As long as you're not brainwashing them, or forcing them to fall in love, any of that nonsense, it's perfectly fine. Just keep in mind that we have perks for matchmaking, it might be better to use those then charisma/persuasion perks.
>>
>>51851867
I honestly didn't read it as them hooking up until the creators went and outright said "yes, they hooked up", precisely because there was so little foreshadowing. I just saw it as two friends who needed to get away from it all for a bit taking a vacation together.
>>
>>51851890
Really? Fair enough, it's been a while; I really didn't focus on the relationship shit because it was so grating, I just enjoyed the big dumb fun steampunk bending fights for what they were. Big, and dumb, and fun. Much like Korra, now that I think about it!

But yeah, I must've mixed up that interview because I just realised I legit forgot how that scene actually went while thinking about lavabending.
>>
>>51851856
>Basically its only okay to pair someone up in a new relationship if its a relationship that Anon didn't like, like Korra and Asami's from the show.

Anon you know that ship made no sense and came from no where.

>>51851867
>No idea why he's so angry about it, though. Series went to shit quickly barring the fight scenes, so I just focused on those.

That's exactly why I'm angry. The show took a dump on everyone and every character who who dare to tell her that she was wrong, WE COULD HAVE HAD A MELLOW YANDERE KORRA COUSIN. But I promised I wouldn't get angry so I'll stop posting now
>>
>>51851127
I would post an image in solidarity with this, but my file naming convention upsets Conspiracy Sinus Anon.

Having said that, I agree with you completely.
>>
>>51851488
I mean, you're not brain-washing them. So that's something. If you're just talking to them and trying to set them up, really you're just a busybody friend at that point.

This is one of those grey areas I try not to think about too hard because otherwise I would just turn my charisma and persuasion perks off because they seem like a form of passive brain-washing.

I mean, I felt it came outta nowhere simply because I didn't think Nick would go that direction at all, not because there was no foreshadowing of it. If you ask me I'd argue its arguably more morally wrong to harm a relationship that they seem to be content with together.
>>

They're not "passive brain-washing" any more than strength perks are "passive face-crushing". You merely choose to use them that way and can affect people however much you so choose. It's not like you're Kilgrave where you literally can't moderate peoples' response to your words.

>>
>>51851488
So long as it is merely influence and not out and out mind control, that's fine. I would also apply the same standard for pursuing individuals who, by canon, hook up before they hook up, and setting up scenarios where ultimately destructive relationships never form.

So long as you aren't removing someones free will, you're good. However. . .

>>51851964

Charisma perks aren't the ones you should worry about. If that's your line of thinking then you should absolutely worry about beauty and appearance perks. There is more and more research that shows individuals view attractive people as smarter and more trustworthy, such that stacked beauty perks might work as a completely legit form of passive mind control.

>>51852033
You are correct about charisma, as both charisma and strength are active. As mentioned above, beauty is trickier.

I guess I could have phrased that better. What I mean is, with charisma and persuasion perks, sometimes I wonder if people are actually listening to the argument or if they're just being bowled over by the force of combined Perks.

I'm probably wrong. It's just one of the places my mind wanders when it thinks about the Chain.

As for Beauty Perks, I don't stack those anyways. Shapeshifting makes a lot of them moot in any case.

She started out as a somewhat clueless but excited girl in Slice of Life. She was cheery, fun to be around, and emotionally attached, so she joined the gang.
Twenty five jumps in, she's a blue-haired catgirl who rides around in fullplate on a flaming horse, tracking down magical stuff to scientifically analyze and/or steal. Every time it's offered, she gets magical maps, compasses, or adventure~ perks. She doesn't do the whole "combat" thing, doesn't really care about plots or plans, she just wanders around having fun with "the red-skinned accountant lady I just met who laughs a lot" and "jumper's sister who turns into a giant monster sometimes".
Sometimes my Jumper feels like a side character who stays home to study magic and make artifacts all day.

She's a handful to deal with, but she definitely adds life to the party. Along with a lot of magical damage. And dragging us along in quests for local knowledge whenever Hildebrand isn't pulling us to help whatever distraught citizen he's talking to.

The Fire Emblem arc has been a fun mess and a half. We're basically the overleveled DLC units who start with lategame stats but are comedy relief characters.

You know how in Fates, talking about the Invisible Kingdom instantly kills you? Companion respawns are very much in effect, most of my companions are idiots, and I'm personally immune to instant death effects.

That respawn function gets a hell of a workout. It went something like this:

Hilebrand: I say, Anon, I just remembered what I wanted to talk to you about! We should really do something about that Invisible Kin-URK!
Nashu: N-no, Inspector! Open your eyes! We have to go stop the Invisible Kin-AAACK!
'Greg': Hmmm...do you think we'll find any swords hidden within this Invisible Kin-ohhelloground.

/jc/ I need a magic system for one of my companions, Busujima Saeko, it needs to follow the following guidelines:
- Quick and easy to use, almost an after thought
- Time Manipulation in some form is necessary
- Elemental Magics a MUST

Should not be the following, reasons are noted beside them:
- Nasuverse Magecraft and Magic [Unique to Rin and I]
- Clow Card System [Unique to Mami and I]
- Puella Magic [Unique to Mami]
- Demon Summoning [Unique to Io]
- Potterverse Magic [Teaching Everyone]
- Fairy Tail (Requip Magic) [Teaching Everyone]
- Bayonetta Magic Works [Keeping to myself]
- Lyrical Nanoha [All will be taught to everyone, especially since I have the IS: Collect and Use]
- Magi [All the girls will use them only]
- Hellsing Channeling [Taught to all]

So, yeah, any ideas? Also, if anyone could point me to where I can get Io to learn proper Runic Magic, I'd be most thankful.

Viking Saga can get you runic magic, yeah. So can Nasuverse, but you're listing it already so there's probably some issue.

As for your question: Touhou, maybe? She'd have to get Lunar Dial and pass up the actual elemental magic perk, since Dial is an innate ability while the other one you can just learn.

Question.

>I Am Your Ship – 400cp, Discount Captain Import or create a Mental Model with either the Loyalist or Abnormal background, all the perks and items free or discounted to Mental Models and either Loyalist or Abnormal, and 400cp more to spend.

Does that mean they get all the perks and items that they receive at a discount for free with an additional 400cp.

Or that they get all those perks and items at a discount or as free as if it was the jumper themselves as the origin with only 400cp to spend?

None of that increases the rank. NP creation is a unique ability of IC creation, you won't increase the rank you create with the rest. You'll make them faster, more efficiently, need less personal time and be able to make new types you couldn't before but you won't be making more then above A rank with those.
>>
>>51854111
I'd have to suggest Dungeons and Dragons magic for this one. It's the only one I can think of that fits everything you want it to do.

Wizard would really be your best bet, except for that stipulation about it being quick and easy to use. Wizards need to study their spells once a day to refresh them in their minds. So like >>51854138 suggested, Sorcerer is your best bet. I would also suggest cross classing over into Favored Soul, as access to Divine Magic and a tie to one of the Dwarf Gods is important for maximum Runic Magic.

Heading to Forgotten Realms is your best bet. Both because the Jump offers the freedom you'll need to buy up what you want for your Companons, but also because a number of the following are native to Forgotten Realms and inaccessible in other D&D Jumps.

+ Inscribe Rune (Feat) = Allows you to take any Divine Spell you know and inscribe it into the a Rune. This causes the spell to target the next person to touch the rune.

+ Runecaster (Prestige Class) = This class is specifically designed around ramping up Rune Magic. Again, uses Divine Spells rather than Arcane.

+ Runesmith (Prestige Class) = Gives you access to Arcane Rune Magic, but you have to take Heavy Armor Proficiency to gain entrance. A waste of a feat, but vital.

+ Geometer (Prestige Class) = Technically Arcane Rune Magic, but focuses more on geometrical designs rather than true Runes. Has some very nice boosters that stack with other Runic Magic, even the Divine stuff.

+ Mystic Theruge (Prestige Class) = Has nothing to do with Runic Magic, but this class allows you to advance you knowledge of both Arcane and Divine magic at the same time. Vital for making up for the power you're going to lose taking the other classes above.

So, yeah. That's Runic Magic in a nutshell. Just... don't focus on how many levels you're going to have to stack to get all of this. Levels are a part of the system and not the world, after all. Level Count:~36

Hope this helps
>>
>>51854496
If he respected the threads stance on it he never would have made it. That he now hides behind some sort of passive-aggressive myriad of excuses does not either excuse or address the fact that he willingly made a replacement jump. His claims about intent are meaningless, as it has been shown time and again the three communities are permeable to a degree and damn near everything that gets made gets posted here, and once posted here it starts the inevitable discussion about whether it should or should not be on the archive.

I don't care that he hides behind technicalities.

Companion GET!: Anna

It got worse. I think I'm just intentionally picking up troublemakers at this point. Fun jump, by the way.

Pic related is my Chronology.

I don't break up relationships, and I don't stop happy relationships from coming into being, but if the relationship is shitty I stop it before it happens. That doesn't always mean I take them instead, though.

And if she's already in a shitty relationship, as long as the guy isn't a full on monster I'd encourage her to break up with/toss into a pit, he's going to get a little education on how he's been making her miserable and how to stop that.

I usually hang out with the main characters and I want them to be happy and not unforgivable assholes, more or less.

>SB jumps can't be used here unless we accept them
>We have the right to determine what jumps SB is allowed to make
Just in case people don't see the problem. It also lends itself to hilarious implications when you consider that this means we're obligated to post on SB to police their content, but at the same time anyone who posts there is accused of abandoning the community.
>>
>>51854750
It's bait.
>>
>>51854750
that's a very misleading interpretation of that, it's more like SB is welcome to make whatever jumps it wants and keep them on their own drive, but we have an approvals process and higher standards , and if those jumps, do not go through the approval process here and meet our standards. They will not Get put on our drive .

>>
>>51854781
That's his point. BLADE made a jump for the SB drive, with no intention of posting it here, and the understanding that if it was posted here, it'd be ignored and refused. Now 51854609 is bitching that BLADE should have acted as if it were made for this drive, because he should have known that people would bring the jump here to talk about. Which is stupid, because as mentioned, BLADE made it fully aware that it wouldn't go onto this drive and would stay on the SB Drive.

>>51854750
That's an interesting take-away from what I said, but that not what I said. I wasn't making some broad based suggestion about inter-site relations or dynamics. I was making a comment about BLADEthulhu and his actions.

The jump maker in question knowingly went out of his way to make a jump that goes against one of the oldest rules of the community: no replacement jumps. He did so knowing that shit gets cross posted. He did so knowing that the topic can and frequently does cause shitstorms. This was particular with the case of Bleach, which was a poorly made jump of a popular property.

The issue in this instance isn't with SB writ large, but with Cthulhu in particular. Why respond to his jumps favorably now when in the past he has outright flouted community standards? If he wants to make what he wants to make: fine. But why seek feedback on your intent if you've shown that you do what you want regardless of what they community thinks.

He wants it both ways: he wants sanction to do what he wants, but he does what he wants anyway without sanction.

So again, if he wants to make jumps: fine. But stop pretending like you care about the community, either in its individual members or its rules and practices.

You do realize that the time perspective is massively off in them right? The whole reason why people can't figure out if Sung Sang Young's chronology is linear is because unlike SIU, he hasn't gotten to the point where he actively comments on Naver or somewhere else about the background details of his own series. If you know Korean you'd have a better chance of figuring it out without 3rd party speculation, but somehow I doubt that you even know how to read hangul phonetically after what you said for not reading Gamer in native Korean.

The fact of the matter is that no one knows exactly how the four series are supposed to be tied together, and you're trying to push a jump off of 3 series that are in early stages, with at least one of them being in permanent hiatus, and another one in untranslated novel form. Of course you're not going to get a tvtropes page with things like that. If you're not going to bother making the effort to learn Korean and get at the source material, then how do you expect anyone to trust you with how accurate your jump will be? If you wanted to make generic isekai there were plenty of alternatives, but somehow you just have to pick the ones that are vague and inaccessible, even to you.

Hey, I'm a real sneaky guy who fights at his best when speeding around, evading enemy notice, attacking from unexpected angles and all that stuff that ninjas do. All my best weapons are as loud, eye catching and bombastic as possible though. Hell, it's working out for me since they're real strong, but I'd also enjoy having a weapon that's actually completely in line with my preferred fighting style, you know?

You guys know some good Jumps for getting a good, lightweight, concealable weapon? I don't care if it's premade, can't be purchased and just exists within the setting or it's something that could be made with some arrangement of options on a customization table, I'd just like something that works for a ninja. A dagger or shortsword or big throwing star, bladed gauntlet, whatever.

There's at least one being who can maybe hurt you; that being an insane former Oldwalker who can enact plane-wide spells with prep. Sorin probably can as well, as he's a 12,000 year old vampire mage and also a former Oldwalker.

Outside of the Plane with the possibility of showing up are the other Eldrazi and two Elder Dragons who are former Oldwalkers.

Do you seriously not understand?

There could be many other jumps out there, made by people we don't know on setting we already have jumps for and the thread couldn't care less about them because we don't know about them and they have not been presented here.

This thread does not have a monopoly on the concept of the jumpchain, we don't have the power or right to stop other people from making jumps. But we do have the power to say that in this community we have no interest in jumps that violate our rules, like replacing already existing jumps without permission. We had no interest, and Cthulhu/Blade respected that, only making the jump on SB and did not share it with us because he knew it violated our ules. However he doesn't have control over other people (much like you and the rest of us) and couldn't stop someone from bringing the jump to our attention. That is not his fault. We also did not take the opportunity to ignore it and move on, and that's on us.

But at this point I think your just infavourably disposed to anything related to this specific person, some childish dislike rather than a reasoned concern over his work or for the community.

My fellow anon says it well: >>51854941
As does this fellow: >>51854984

As long as the jumpmaker gave permission directly or indirectly for a replacement, it's basically valid. We've had several jumpmakers that have done this, it's just that nobody is willing to put in the effort to make a replacement of everything that's up on offer, so people forget the jumps that are ok to be replaced.

...Also, I use a Hellsing Arms Jackal for non-bedroom fun. It's got lots of upgrades, from Mass Accelerators and Microcosm bullets, to imports as a Problem Solver in Austin Powers and Crotchshot Pistol in Kung Fury.

It's still technically a sidearm though, since I can make bigger booms with my powers. I just use it because it's cool.

There nothing to say that he can't update in future to deal with new revelations, anon. Don't be an obstructionist dick over trivial matters.

And are you serioulsy telling him that he can't make the jump unless he learns Korean. You are either telling the flattest joke I've ever encountered, or your severely detached from reality (or an idiot).

If your going to criticise or contribute, be constructive or stay silent and wait for an opportunity to contribute positively.

You realize that the issue has never been an issue of new revelations, but rather that no one has had any interest in translating the Korean LNs right? This is an issue of feasibility, not of "revelations" or update frequency. If you take Life Howling for instance, Game of Scanlations stopped their translation efforts half a year ago at chapter 6, the rest of it is completely up in the air unless you try to access it directly from the source (http://novel.munpia.com/29922). Good luck getting past the paywall on that.

If the source material is in Korean to begin with and people have given up translating further updates on it, then how do you expect him to make a comprehensive jump out of it without either learning Korean or giving the translators incentive to keep pushing ahead (paying them)?

If their dedication to bitch at jumpmakers even translated into a tenth of work ethic, they would have replaced Red's jumps the second she gave the OK. We have seen nothing. They would have replaced Sailor Moon when Wakfu allowed it to happen instead of waiting months for Nikamoth to do anything about it, and that's the only jump touched.

Expecting them to do anything aside from bitching is laughable.

The Crowbar is still a Juju. If you break a Juju in one timeline with the Juju-breaker it is still fine in all the other timelines. You wouldn't destroy Caliborn's original crowbar by doing that.

And it wouldn't really matter, since not letting LE born would just mean that the timeline becomes doomed and he will be born in another one.

That's why Heir of Time is the best choice, it basically gives you LE bullshit plot armor in the higher levels.

Wakfu and Brows basically have the "don't ever talk to me about jumpchain again" stance, so even if they didn't say it explicitly they won't be speaking up against it, if they even show up. Only Red and Dirge have put up their jumps for replacement officially as far as I know.

I will admit that I did not know that detail about translation having stalled.

But these problems seem endemic to the franchise, and even if Blade was willing to spend the years and money and opportunity cost to learn Korean, how much would the end result be better?

It seems to me that we have the same choice as ever, we either have no jump at all or a jump which may be less than perfect. I for one wold perfer a less than perfect jump than none at all. And look forward to being pleasantly surprised.

You seem pretty invested in this. Do you have some insight into the setting which you can share with Blade. Can you read korean and fill in the gaps for him?

If you are interested in helping him, then please go ahead, but if all your doing is saying that the jump will be doomed to imprefection or requiring some compromises to deal with inconsistencies between the stories, that is probably not terribly helpful unless accompanied with a realisitic solution or at least a reasonable suggestion to address the point.

No, their whole point is that they're a constant in the multiverse, but there can only be one in the same timeline at the same time.

LE exist across all timelines partly because he is fused with a Juju.

A cheap absolute immortality trick is to import your Horrocrux as a Juju. Now you don't have to worry about it being destroyed or not in your same dimension.

So I have decided to stop with the journal as… some of my companions are a bit too nosey. Including a couple I am married to.

I hate war, I have seen way too much of it. Sure this wasn’t a declared war I was stuck in a supposed nuclear weapons disposal site which was actually a place where they were testing out Metal Gear. However it still had that violent feel and everyone ready to kill the each other. I managed to free myself and my companions and then snuck around the compound like a ghost.

I think I knocked out all of the guards. I started to run out of places to stuff their unconscious tide up bodies. Anyways with the help of Solid snake and Meryl we destroy Metal Gear. I left Liquid Snake to Solid Snake.

After that we set up a small personal mercenary band to protect those who needed it. We charged of course but we picked and chose our clients for those who weren’t dick bags. We charged on a sliding scale based on the person ability to pay. Despite being a band of misfits we did very well (it didn’t hurt that we could heal and resurrect clients when things went bad, also other magics helped).

>>51856715
I don't think you understand the issues of making a jump with niche settings, much less niche settings where most of the material is both language locked and paywall locked. The official manga series was already axed (Life Howling) whereas Maze Age Z is about to get axed because SSY doesn't have the motivation to continue. He does however, have the motivation to continue writing the LNs. Both of these stories in their manga forms stopped at the opening phase, long before they even got to the heart of their plots. With the Gamer people at least have folks willing to continue translating, and a story that continues to grow, so people going into the jump blind, especially if they only have heard of it through jumpchain, at least have something to work off of. This is not the case with Maze Age Z, not the case with Life Howling, and even Wizardly Tower is on and off.

You're saying that any jump is better than no jump. If the jump is inherently incomplete because the stories that it depends on are incomplete, then could you even consider it a proper jump? If Blade can't answer any questions regarding the lore or backstory because he doesn't know anything in depth, then how is he supposed to help the jumper flesh out their story? This is like taking a pre-alpha video game and deciding to make a jump out of it by lumping several other pre-alpha video games of a similar genre together, with no regard for how each of the individual games might evolve over time.

The problems aren't endemic to the franchise at all. We have plenty of Korean manhwa that have been fully translated, plenty of isekai franchises that are developed well beyond the point that these three that Blade wants are at.

There is absolutely no incentive to helping Blade, especially when he doesn't care about helping himself. Blade has shot himself in the foot so many times in the past that I don't see any merit to making any additional effort on his behalf.

Let me see if I understand. You baselessly claim that I am some other anon who had a particular preference. And from that you conclude that I have a seperate but related opinion to what that anon expressed. And from there you conclude that I am biased, which is even then irrelevant to the point I was raising.

Am I following you correctly? If so then you, my friend, fail in logic, and lead me to believe that by ignoring the actual point and accusing me baselessly of bias that you are full of shit.

For the record, I have no familiarity with Life Howling, I am completely ignorant of the setting. And I admit that some of the nuances of your concerns may not be fully appreciated by me because of that. However, I have addressed what you have actually raised and provided suggestions to constructively take things forward in a way that shouold encompass your concerns entire, which you are pointlessly buckling against.

If you were arguing sincerely, in good faith and with an interest in a good jump of the setting being made, you would not be acting this way. I can only conslude that you motives are not pure and that you are acting on what I suspected earlier: a dislike for the jumpmaker rather than legitimate concerns as you claimed.

As such, unless you respond constructively, I am going to conclude that there is nothing to be gained in talking to you over this. You have a good night.

Ummm… ok then apparently things happened during the last jump. Anyways my little band had growing in to it’s own PMC. And somewhere along the way I got an upgrade (?) well I got cybernetics.

So apparently things have gotten a bit crazy It’s tough to rely on your companions for things especially since the world is so crazy. To help them I created power armor based on the various worlds I had visited (Marvel, Bubblegum Crisis, Doom, Etc).

It would turn out that we would need it because we began to be targeted by some of the other PMCs who were not happy about thwarting them and our highly advanced technology. While the rest of my companions were holding them off I was using the wealth to start buying them up or defunding those that wouldn’t sell. It turns out money is one of the most devastating weapons of all in the metal gear universe.

It's update O'Clock again mother fs!

It's not a particularly exciting one to be honest.

I was looking at Penny Dreadful as I realised I'd stopped watching 2 episodes before the end for some reason. One thing led to another, I finished the series, my build got retconned again and I updated the jump slightly.

Changes are very mild. Huntsman now grammatically makes sense, the Companion option is explained in the notes as I realised it wasn't all that clear in how it worked, couple of tweaks in the wording for the Doctor and the Drop-In capstones to make them a appear marginally better.

I also made the cigarettes in the Cigarette Holder option of a high quality because it's in my build now and I have very little integrity. Also who pays CP for bad cigarettes? Nobody, that's who.

I feel like I jumped the gun and conflated you and another poster who was trying to stir up trouble. My apologies. That said, I do have no knowledge of the setting and readily admit that. Thanks to your post I better understand your concerns, but it seems like these incomplete works will not be completed for a long time, if they are ever finished, and we do have precident for come very good jumps based on incomplete properties (Tales of Demons and Gods, comes to mind) that being as jumps based on available knowledge about the setting and then are subsequently updated as new material is made available. Blade could make a jump that could be updated without quality suffering.

I feel like you are confusing 'franchise' with 'genre'. My point stands with the former and not with the later, which I think is what your trying to say.

I think i can see your point now, fairly clearly, however the best advice i can give is to suggest other, completely translated isekai-type manhua, or similar to Blade and hope he finds that suggestion less daunting to make a jump over.

After all, he either is invested in the series and knows the problems your pointing out and could be receptive to another suggestion, or he isn't invested and should be responsive to a suggestion for a setting that should be easier to make a jump over due to completeness.

>Sburb
Essentially... you do the quests in your land/planet and defeat the monsters there to level up.

After that you speak to/murder your land's final boss, which is a big snake thing called the Denizen

Then meteors start shooting at the central land/planet called the Battlefield, and you have to defeat the final boss called the Black King there. (simultaneously, the Black Queen also has to be defeated/exiled, to get her ring)

Then the Space Player shoots a tadpole they genetically engineered at the Battlefield, using a volcano.

This tadpole incubates into a new frog-shaped universe. Pic related.

>alchemy
Basically, all items have a corresponding code. Which is visible on the back of Sburb's inventory (Captchalogue) cards when they are stored in them.

This code translates to a specific pattern of holes on a punchcard, which is punched in by one machine.

Inserting this punchcard into another machine allows you to duplicate the original item for a commensurate cost in Grist (which you drops from Sburb monsters).

Alchemy is done by combining two punchcards to make one item. Either by overlapping two cards to only get the shared holes in the pattern, or by punching one card with both patterns.

The tone and content of my post was somewhat distorted due to me thinking that you were another poster I was talking to, before your interruption. Please bear that in mind.

I type like a human being at a desk. How can this be used to differentiate me from millions of other people? It's not like how you type is some sort of fingerprint. But I shall not pester you by telling you how silly it is to make that sort of assumption, it should be obvious enough without me pointing it out.

But allow me to say this, I 'do want' more jumps, I will gladly admit this. I do not have any motives like 'power-wankery' (I know your not accusing me of this, it is just an example) since I'm honestly not familiar with the setting and what stuff can be found in it. As such i will support jumpmakers, and thank them for their efforts.

I have no shame in wanting more jumps, because what else is this thread for if not for jumps, making and appreciating them. A person who doesn't want more jumps is probably happier somewhere else.

Plenty of people have pointed out Isekai genre fics in the past that they'd be interested in seeing made into jumps in the past. It's up to Blade to decide what he wants to do, but he's never done himself any favors. Even ignoring the amount of things that he wants to do but hasn't gotten to doing, if anything, the best advice for him would be to clear off his own plate before trying to take on anything else. He isn't Valeria, he doesn't sit down and concentrate on pumping out jumps. He's still in the process of trying to establish consistency, he doesn't have the benefit of experience in tackling extremely obscure settings, so trying to dive headfirst into something that would require this much investment in the first place is a fool's gambit.

Your comparison of Tales of Demons and Gods to something like Life Howling and Maze Age Z is a poor one, but seeing as you don't have any knowledge of the setting it's understandable why you'd think they're comparable.

In Tales of Demons and Gods, the Chinese LN is well into the heart of the story. There's a clear cosmology, a clear conflict, a clear structure and explanation to many of the world's different elements. Korean LNs do not follow the same structure as Chinese LNs. They spend the first segment doing sparse point worldbuilding, where only snippets of things are shown and nothing is explained, with the explanation coming in the form of plot reveals later on in the middle segment of the story. If you had compared LH or MAZ to Tower of God, at least that would be comparable because the structure is the same. The structure is precisely what the problem is here, because in both LH and MAZ, the translated segment of the series was stopped before any of the reveals properly came out. The story continues on in the Korean only LNs thus far. Tales of Demons and Gods, to go back to your comparison, has a steady translation process ongoing.

And frankly, the point stands with both the franchise and the genre. We have plenty of people who have dedicated themselves to translating full LNs in both the Chinese and Korean markets. We have plenty of folks who are very involved with the localization of many different Japanese works. Naver even handles English translations of some of their works. This is across all genres, from sci-fi to martial arts to shoujo to isekai and so forth. The amount of material out there that has been translated is amazingly vast, something that this community has barely tapped into, and plenty of folks here don't have the motivation to tap into it.

There is no motivation to translate the three titles that you're talking about. This isn't about it reflecting the state of the market, this is just a matter of people not caring enough about those titles. If you involved yourself with the community on that side, you'd find plenty of people who are willing to badmouth SSY on the drop of a hat just because of his perceived lack of dedication, and the quality of his writing. This guy isn't SIU, he isn't Sungmin Kim, he doesn't have the foreign fanbase willing to do the work that many other authors do. This doesn't even begin to touch the lolicon shit that people heap on him from time to time.

>Fortunately , it goes down like a bitch to a third level wizard
>https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Tarrasque#.283.5.29_How_to_Defeat_The_Tarrasque_in_3_Easy_Levels

Uh, that "how-to" is a trap.

First, it leaves out some rather important steps:
* how and where the third level wizard finds the allip in the first place
** and no, your Wiz3 can't Summon Undead an allip, that requires a Wiz7 minimum
*** oh, your Wiz3 bought a scroll? better not flub the check to cast it right...
* avoiding being hypnotised and/or put in a permanent coma as a result
** allies are not immune to the allip's hypnotic AoE power
* keeping the allip under control long enough to get it to the tarrasque
* avoiding being eaten once you're there (a tarrasque has +17 listen and spot checks, +19 with alertness)

Second, it contains a critical mistake - it incorrectly states the tarrasque can't hit incorporeal targerts:
* a tarrasque's natural attacks are treated as epic weapons, which have a 50% chance of hitting even incorporeal targets
* the allip won't be able to inflict wisdom drain without traversing the tarrasque's reach (cue pre-emptive attack of opportunity)

I hear what you say. I'll admit I don't have the best grasp of the personalities and relative strengths and weaknesses of the 'namefags' jumpmakers.

I do have a knee-jerk response to be supportive to jumpmakers, and I hope that whatever Blade produces will be a good-quality jump.

That said, thank you for taking the time to explain in depth the nature of the issue, I appreciate it.

Unfortunately, as I see it the only real recourse (making some assumptions here, I know) is to try and convince Blade to pick up a fully translated isekai to make a jump out of. Perhaps a smallish one thats fairly self-contained and obscure that he could cut his nib on. Any come to mind?

Small point, translation of Tales of Demons and Gods is positively glacial recently, like once-a-month. Better than nothing but soo slow and it's not as though they are very long. Excellent story though.

He already admitted that he doesn't know anything about the settings, and he probably had no clue how Naver or Munpia works either. If he doesn't know any of this, how is he going to be able to defend any of these settings as jumps? You might as well just be asking Blade directly the following questions, even though Blade probably can't answer them as it stands.

a) How are the four settings related, with sources from the author to justify his interpretation.
b) How the power mechanics work, again with sources from the author.
c) What is the timeline supposed to be if they're all supposed to be one jump or two, and who are all of the major players involved, so that the reader can assess what the situation actually is.
d) What is the endgame of these series?

If his answer is just going to be "make it up on your own" then there really can't be a justification to these as jumps besides "more jumps = good no matter what the jump is". Because it might as well be an OC jump off of a skeleton made by a Korean author.

If he really wanted to look for just an Isekai experience, he could have simply gone for a google search, or looked it up on tvtropes. People have brought up things like Death March or Kumo in the past, along with all sorts of other titles. Heck, there are even translated isekai video games like Stranger in Sword City. This is the sort of thing that takes literally minutes to search for, minutes to parse through. It doesn't take any effort to do surface level skimming.

That's why this comes off as a stupid move, both because Blade is forcing himself onto something he doesn't actually want to put in effort for (learning Korean to get at the heart of the LNs), and the fact that he's on this course when there are dozens if not hundreds of alternatives out there. When you portray it in the worst light, it comes off as him wanting to do these because he knew the Gamer is "popular" and the ice was already broken, so he wants to grab the other three as soon as possible. It probably isn't the reason, but Blade is so poor at communicating his situation that everything can be easily misinterpreted.

To be honest, Wizardly Tower isn't an Isekai at all, it's part of the Infinity genre where the MC is intended to be the YHVH of the world from the get go, so even this isn't accurate. The whole story is about how MC is a God that can't ever be wrong, and MC ex Machina is literally the central plot point. Maze Age Z and Life Howling can at least be considered as meeting part of the Isekai genre's typicalities.

Wait, Blade's actually learning Korean to make a jump? What the fuck even.
>>
>>51857883
No, he's not learning Korean. He doesn't want to take the effort to learn Korean, but he wants to makes the jump despite the jump's IP being locked behind the Korean language barrier.

The forcing himself part is him wanting to make the jumps. The effort that he doesn't want to put in is learning Korean to actually read the LNs that are only in Korean.
>>
>>51857845
I don't really know Blade's personality well. if alternatives that would be easier to make jumps of have already been suggested and yet he insists on this franchise, then I only really have one suggestion - if he wants to have his foot-in-the-door for this setting, then let him, but ask him to first do another isekai type jump to establish his bona fides.

You (I think it was you at least) said that he hadn't yet become consistent in his style, or something to those lines; maybe a small jump on a related isekai-type setting may enable him to get some consistency before he works on the combined WT and MAZ setting. He may upon creating such a jump, or trying to, come to reliase just how much of jawbreaker he's trying to chew, metaphorically speaking, and give up the claim. That is a very long-term proposition though, and I don't know Blade wll enough to say wither he'd be up for it.

Also, did Blade actually say he would learn Korean? I though that was something another party proposed that he ought to do for researching the jump?

I have personally no issues with whether he wants to claim this or not. Claims, in my experience, don't matter much, especially not for obscure settings like this. I've made the majority of my jumps with no claims made at all, it doesn't make a difference in the end except you're making a public announcement in the case of a claim.

Blade's speed is erratic, he doesn't have the sheer quantity produced like Cats, Dog, or myself, he doesn't have a distinctive style in the way he works as far as release cycles for jumps go like Valeria. That's all consistency is. If you have consistency in speed, then at least you're making content rather than just pitching ideas to invite arguments. If you have consistency in volume, the way you release jumps, or the way you write, then at least people know what to expect from a jump that you're making.

The consistency is there for the jumpmaker's sake as much as it is for the audience's sake, so that people can actually develop some measure of good will towards the jumpmaker. If the jumpmaker has no interest in building that consistency, there's nothing that we can do about it.

With fast jumpmakers like Cats and Valeria, the protection afforded by a claim is a short term one. With obscure jumpmakers like myself, normally no one will care enough about the setting to contest a claim. The three titles that are in question here fall into the category of the latter, even if Blade didn't make the claim, it'd still be untouched until god knows when SSY decided to get back to work.

As far as the Korean thing goes >>51857915

It's not an easy thing to gauge. D&D worlds can vary really widely on the danger level, even away from any plots that are ongoing. As a rule of thumb, population centers tend to be the safest and it gets progressively more dangerous the more you go rooting around in the wilderness. Mind you, it's not a hard and fast rule because even the cities can get infiltrated by Mind Flayer Cultists or a Changling Coup. But it serves well enough.

Staying above ground will do wonders to help your survival chances. Caves and the Underdark tend to be far more deadly than the surface. Also, stay out of Thay in Forgotten Realms. The Wizards there have their own ideas about how to rule and it generally involve slavery, torture, and necromancy.

That said, if you Jump in with a few Companions and buy yourself a few levels right off the bat, you'll be leagues ahead of the common folk and right in the mix with a majority of adventurers who dungeon delve for a living. A lot of they still die horribly, but lower-level adventurers make up the bulk in nearly any city.

Koreans use hangul for 90% of their written literature, with barely any usage of hanja at all, whereas Japanese uses both kanji and kana at a much more balanced ratio - with the former you're learning an "alphabet" and how it works in their grammar and the structure of how they form each character. With the latter you're learning what's technically two alphabets, in addition to kanji.

And yet in spite of this, Japanese is technically the more popular language - in the end it boils down to a matter of motivation. I have no motivation to learn Korean, so I didn't bother. I can say the same for Tagalog, Hindi, Cyrillic, and plenty of other languages. It doesn't mean that they're necessarily difficult.

I do know three other languages and learned them as an adult without being in some language oriented career. So don't even bother trying to pull the "if you've never tried it don't stick it to him" card. I criticize Blade because he continues to shoot himself in the foot over and over again by treading into territory that he knows he's completely lost in, like some headless chicken walking up to a butcher. There are plenty of IPs that he's already made prospective claims on - get those done before trying to chew on things that are beyond what you're willing to commit to.

I see, thank you.

I misunderstood what you were referring to with 'consistency', I thought you were referring to style of the jump itself.

Can I ask you a mostly unrelated question? You mention that you are a jumpmaker yourself, but I don't attach any obligation to the answer to the following question. What Isekai type seting would you like or recommend to be made into a jump? Just as a matter of curiosity from someone ignorant of the genre.

Alternatively what isekai would you recommend for a newbie to the genre?

Hahaha. Get some perspective dude. What does it matter to you that Blade wants to do a hard project? There's no need to get mad at the guy.

Rolled 56 (1d100)

23. The Elder Scrolls Morroblivion
Origin: Thief, Race: Argonian, Birthsign: The Lady
Location: Morrowind
Perks: Amphibious, Resist Magicka, Cold Resistant, Disease Resistant, Athlete, Acrobat, Poison Immunity, Speechcraft
Gear: Leather Armor, Steel Weapon
Prophecy: Nerevarine

You know the best way to get immortality in Jumpchain? It's to goddamned earn it. My kill count has risen into the double digits this jump.17 total. I mean, most of them were ash-vampires, but three of them were gods, so that should count for something. My time on Vvardenfell was spent half in mucking about in ancient ruins thanks to the Drop-In perkline from Swords and Sorcery, and the other half playing politics. I spent six months negotiating tariffs for House Hlaalu after I became Grandmaster. It was hell. But I also got to find a horde of magic objects and now have a "this is valuable but useless magic item" section to my warehouse.

I got to Almalexia before she got to Sotha Sil, which had the amazing side-effect of making me an enemy to the Dunmer people and most of the empire, but also Sotha Sil himself. And a thousands of years old wizard coming down from the god-high is not something you want chasing you across the continent, no matter how hilariously good you've gotten at sneaking away from life-sensing god-wizards. It was like trying to run away from an angry jumper. And like most angry jumpers, the thing that got them killed was a tribe of angry tiger men on a distant and unknown continent.

My personal goal that I'll roll for this jump is to successfully steal the Royal Signet Ring from King Helseth. If I do get the roll, I probably killed him and looted it from his corpse, and ran off to Akavir to avoid Almalexia. Here's hoping I get above an 80.

Well, all I can say is that you are much better at languages than what I am.

In defence of Blade, I have heard that one of the best ways to learn a foreign language is to immerse yourself, often by travelling to and living in a country that speaks the language.

Maybe this project will be the immersion for Blade and give him motivation to learn.

And maybe I'm being excessively optimistic. Again. Like I mentioned earlier, I'm not that familiar with Blade's personality, strengths or weaknesses, but from what I'm seeing in your posts, my optimism may be misplaced.

I hope that Blade will pleasantly surprise us.

Sorry, but I have to go now. Thank you the conversation; it was one of the best I've have in /tg/ since I've been active, for the last two months or so. I feel a bit better informed, which is always a good feeling.

If you have a recommendation vis-a-via my post >>51858241 please feel free to post it and I'll catch it tomorrow. Thank you in advance.

Good night.

Muv Luv Alternative is technically Isekai. Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky is most definitely Isekai. Beyond the Labyrinth is technically Isekai despite it being a "3rd party insert". Re:Zero is getting a video game as far as I know. If you're looking at Tensei types that to some extent things like Agarest War or Utawarerumono count (the latter counts in the same way that you might consider Wizardly Tower an Isekai, except it takes the Tensei part of Isekai more seriously) It's not a genre I care about that much outside of some select stories, so even my knowledge base on it is minimal compared to some experts out there.

Sword City would make a pretty neat jump, though I'm not in any hurry to really consider how the system of Lineage Types should be made into a unique element, jump wise. The core of the story concentrates too severely on Lineage Types and Strangers.

>>51858241
Video Game Isekai are much easier to make jumps out of because you can already borrow off of existing systems and work off of that. Things like Kumo desu ga, Re:Zero, and Death March are alright as far as early entry goes, but because they escalate, balancing feats becomes a more precarious notion. The magic of Isekai to some people is the process of adaptation and growth to the new world - but sometimes the option of powers deprives the jumper of that. This isn't true of all jumpers, but from the perspective of a jumpmaker there's the consideration of how much of the setting's tone and atmosphere should be conveyed - and part of Isekai is the journey in the new world.

>>51858258
For the simple reason that I'd much rather Blade focus on getting his other claims actually done, and the fact that he wants to tackle a project that could very well get in the way of other jumps being made or drain his motivation for no good reason is detrimental to that.

If you want my opinion, just get the hell out of Neverwinter and head to Waterdeep or Baulder's Gate. They've both got their own problems, but Neverwinter seems to attract it's own special level of bad luck from the universe. There's always something horrifying going on in that town.

If you're really married to the idea of the snowy north you could head over to Icewind Dale instead. It has a problem with regular Goblin raids, but for the most part Goblins are low-tier monsters. The overland trek is to get there is pretty dangerous though. Trolls and Giants infest the mountains, so take a boat and hope the Goblins haven't rebuilt their catapults.

Personally, I like Baulder's Gate. For the most part it's a pretty peaceful slice of Forgotten Realms... comparatively. At the very least it's well defended enough that the lands around it are mostly peaceful. There's the standard political infighting, but you'll see that no matter where you go. Just don't piss off the Bards and you'll be fine.

I'd /highly/ recommend the nightlife of Baulder's Gate, especially in the summer when pretty much everyone pours into the city to trade. Their red light district is well stocked.

As far as I can tell, the only rules we have are:

1) Make at least a token effort to be true to the setting.
2) Jumps should be internally balanced.
3) Oh my god what the fuck were you thinking!?! No lewds!1!!
>>
>>51858598
Try and keep only one kind of die in mind when making a jump. /tg/ only allows for one type of roll at a time so if you have a d12 and then a d6 you'd need to take up multiple posts rolling or use an off site die roller.

Having 8 starting locations is good form, but if there aren't that many places to start you really dont' need them all.
Sometimes backgrounds have specific locations. Sometimes there's just one universal location start.

There is a manga series about a mid level adventure who specializes in goblin genocide, they are too weak for other strong adventures to bother with and weak adventures often don't have the experience to deal with a crafty enemy that's fond of traps/ambushes.

Jump #14: Fallen London
http://pastebin.com/TsF1M3D3
>Well, this world was fun at the very least. I started the Jump by opening a Detective Agency with Sayaka, “Miki Investigations: The Crime is already solved.” Our gimmick was that there was no crime that took place too long ago to solve, given my access to Oversight.
>Our office was covered in Correspondence Sigils, warded against the advances of the Fingerkings by imposing the law of the Judgments onto them, even if some customers complained about their prevalence and visibility. I spent most of the time in the Office, because I saw no need to leave when I could just solve crimes from inside and consume literature (See what I did there?).
>I suppose that’s why Jack had such an easy time finding me, whenever they found a new host. As time went on, we became part of the legend of Jack of Smiles, their fated foes. They could stop whenever they wanted, but I imagine I was so much more interesting than the average victim anyway. >Occasionally, they got a good hit in, cut off a finger or an arm, but they never really lasted long against the rain of Fire and Swords.
>Of course, the Detective Agency wore thin over time, so I bought the building next to us, made a door in between, warded it, made some delicious candies dyed with the Colors of the Neathbow, and sold them. I repeated the Cycle, opening a very Successful Winery, A Bright Boutique, and a Fanciful Bookstore. As time went on, the businesses accumulated, becoming a Neathy Galleria, rife with secrets and Sigils.

Penny Dreadful Retcon #? (possibly #3)

Witch
29 years old
Cut-Wife
Blood Glyph 150
Back Hand of God 450
An Inner Clockwork 650
Wardrobe 700
Cigarette Holder 750
Home 900
Companion 1000
Leeroy: Explorer, Survivor, Man of Action

Retconning as I took an excessive amount of drawbacks before and I thought I'd taken the house option but hadn't. Think I got confused with an earlier run.

The main points of difference is that I've dropped Huntsman which is a shame as it's a well written perk and the jumpmaker is very handsome. Man of Action would have maybe been better anyway but I didn't have the budget.

On the plus side I took Wardrobe which gives me an endless supply of Victorian Era garb which I'll most likely end up wearing quite a lot as I'm doing this early and don't like doing laundry if I can avoid it.

Also got a Cigarette Holder as I'm a smoke conduit from Infamous and I also misremembered my Generic Western build (thought I'd taken the cheroot) so I need some endless smokables. I don't think anyone will believe me when I tell them that I'm dressed as a Victorian gentleman and smoking using a cigarette holder for purely pragmatic reasons in other settings.

I also pivoted my companion so while I don't get a discount on him he gets Man of Action which makes him way more lucky/better at stuff when things are important which is a pretty great quality in a bodyguard.

Also I have the aforementioned spoopy mansion in every setting which is sweet.

Blood Glyph is now a bat hawk. I'll probably go hunting vampires due to how bloody thematically appropriate it'd be (fun fact: bat hawks mostly eat bats).

>>
>>51859352
Im pretty sure this wouldn't even fit in NOiSE looking at it right now, looks like the very beginning of the megastructure, probably the earliest bit of the timeline.

>Biomega
Did Tsutomu ever quite confirm they were from the same universe? I assumed they were sorta like parallel timelines or something, only because TOHA industries is one of the only constants in the two, and crazy tech is a constant in all of Nihei's work.

Now that I think about it, doesn't the megastructure have more bullshit then simply being what it is on the surface? I think I remember in one of his psuedo-lore books he talked about crazy computation speeds.

>>
>>51859398
That seems to be the case, but it isn't necessarily a good thing. People gave Lycoris shit for claiming like 12 IPs at once (even though half of those realistically had no pre-existing claims to them), and Blade is slowly accumulating to the same problem. If he cranked out 5 jumps per week, that wouldn't be an issue, but with the way he does things, everyone gets the impression that he has about 30 jumps in the works, and yet no one knows just what those jumps are. Eventually it comes across as some sort of shotgun approach where he's trying to get 1% of work done across 20 jumps instead of getting 20% of the work done in one jump, and that number just seems to keep growing.

Of course a lot of this is just a matter of perception because for all we know Blade actually does have 30 jumps near completion and he's just waiting for the opportunity to surprise us all with a massive jump dump, but until that does happen, so far it just seems like Blade likes to dabble a bit in everything without much to actually show for it.

Heck we're still waiting for him to give a bit more flesh to his Xenoblade jump.
>>
>>51859454
Dealer has time instead of what i presume should be kind.
>>
>>51859555
Nice catch.
>>
>>51859464
Biomega isn't tied to Blame!, but TOHA Heavy Industries unlocked the science behind dimensional travelling in the latter, whereas in the former they ended up getting wasted with just basically three survivors. The Time Frame on NOiSE is very ambiguous, especially because we only get to see things from Susono's perspective, and Susono is very likely stuck at the epicenter of things, because she's in such a deeply immersed role in the Governing Authority's grand scheme.

The Megastructure has plenty of crazy shit. The science behind it is inherently far beyond human levels due to the scale of things involved. When you take a look at the hard science behind megastructures on that scale, everything is pushed up to ridiculous limits. Keep in mind that the Megastructure has defied conservation laws to some degree, and all of the elements that are hinted at but not fleshed out (The Dormant "Netsphere", the Builder hierarchy, the "potential" behind Silicon Life which was originally human as per NOiSE and contributed to the Megastructure in their own way) - and you'll find a lot of crazy shit on top of the "Megastructure Indestructible" trait that people tend to point to.

It's the good thing about obscure settings. People don't talk about them much, so often there are lots of hidden details that a person in the know can utilize fully.

Samurai Jack lets you make enchanted weapons by marking them with runes, and you can learn more enchantments by studying other magical weapons.

>Ride to Hell jump
A few days ago I was thinking how this would make a great April Fools day jump. Oh well, nice to see someone working on it regardless. Do you plan on offering a nuke as a joke item?
>>
>>51859654
>a nuke

what wait

Didn't see that in the let's plays
>>
>>51859664
DLC.
>>
>>51859700
oh my

Probably no, I intend to keep this pretty street-level.
>>
>>51859664
It was from a DLC. And yes it was just as stupid as you might expect.

What would be the point in doing another Isekai-type jump? Practice?
>>
>>51859812
Isekai are fun, you often get to live your hole life from birth there instead of yoinking a body midway througg.
>>
>>51859823
>>51859812
Speaking of Isekai, are there any where the protag comes in as a monster instead of a legendary hero, or something? Because that would be an cool take on it, where the hero is a generic monster and has to survive from there.
>>
>>51859823
No, I mean asking blade to do one before the one he was gonna make. What's the point of that?
>>
>>51859700
>>51859766
They offered DLC for that garbage?

WHY?
>>
>>51859848
Um... Re Monster and Kumo Desu are the only one's I know of.

They're both a bit psychopathic though. RM moreso than KD.
>>
>>51859606
>Biomega isn't tied to Blame!
Yeah I thought as much. The idea of a Blame! multiverse is pretty cool.

>The Megastructure has plenty of crazy shit.
Yeah, I had a look at some of the translated stuff from Nihei's artbook and apparently, if I trust even a sliver of the translation, the city apparently uses computer chips folded to the Nth dimensional forming a type of virtual computer and attain a nearly limitless processing speed. A lot of this is really cool.

>obscure settings
I always liked this aspect in regards to jumpchain.
>>
>>51859865
>Re Monster and Kumo Desu
Huh, I didn't think there'd be any. Neat-

>They're both a bit psychopathic, though. RM moreso than KD.
Oh. Well...uh...how bad do they get?
>>
>>51859896
Genocide.
>>
>>51859856
Money in the form of those willing to pay to subject themselves to more of a terrible game, or soothe their abominable curiosity of what more the developers would want to add.
>>
Are there any perks/items that provide you with a house in every jump? I don't mean one that you can bring with you into future jumps but one that makes it so that you'll have an in setting one in every jump.
>>
>>51859908
With most games, they start making the DLC before the game's released, and finish it just on inertia. I'd be willing to bet that's what happened here.
>>
>>51859907
...yeah, I think I'll pass. That's pretty nasty. Thanks for letting me know, anon.
>>
>>51859896
Well, RM's cheat skill is eating things to gain powers.

So, he eats everything. EVERYTHING.

KD is... Nicer, but she ends up almost depopulating the grand dungeon where she lives. She's not evil per say, she's just a massive glutton.
>>
>>51859617
>Samurai Jack lets you make enchanted weapons
Is is limited to Weapons only, or can you enchant armor and other items as well?
>>
>>51859848
>>51859865
Tensei Shittara Slime Datta Ken is another one on top of those.

>>51859867
A lot of the computational and AI stuff in the Megastructure defies much of what is known about computing and Artificial intelligence logic/algorithms, that much is clear when you consider the fact that their AIs are essentially more human than humans themselves in setting. Even somebody like Mensab, who would have been relatively low level in the grand scheme of things in the "Golden Age" of the Megastructure, has enough computing power to remotely seize control from several other governing AIs while at the same time activating a cross dimensional slip engine.
>>
>>51859896
>how bad do they get?
I know that in RM the protagonist rapes some elves or something. He doesn't hold them down and violate them, but he does continuously expose them to pheromones until they finally beg for it. That might be defined as something else legally, but it's essentially rape.
>>
>>51859919
Most of the properties in my jumps work like that. You inherit a house each jump.

Penny Dreadful and Mad Men definitely have them. Think Black Dynamite has a brothel. There might be more that I can't remember.
>>
>>51859907
Are we talking about Desu? I was under the impression that the world is fucked up and a shit-ton of people need to die in order to not bring about the apocalypse.
>>
What ever happened to the guy making a Belgariad jump?
>>
>>51850132
Anyone ever feel like helping a horrible villain that doesn't deserve your sympathy?

I RE I'd probably make Eveline non-infectious then adopt her or something, I feel weirdly bad for bioweapons trying to act on their natural desires for parental love but fucking it up because they're a freaky monster that was horribly mis-raised by sociopaths.
>>
>>51860001
I havent fully read the translation, but I was under the impression that the 'gods' were using the world to farm EXP or something. Ironically, even with that, I think they're still the good guys.

But yes, there are some people who need killing. Like the pope and the head elf.
>>
>>51859988
The Explorer house from Penny dreadful works I think, thanks!
>>
>>51859454
That looks amazing. It gets my "ok" (so long as I can highlight the text on my reader).
>>
>>51857157
Yay update!
So, since there is no group companion import option, I am assuming you can buy companions more than once?
>Jumper Drop In, why do you have eight doctor 'parents' who collaberated to reanimate your dead flesh?
Because importing them all cost 400 even discounted! I didn't have enough CP left for a diversity hire.
