Kindly no End Times or Age of Sigmar. If that is your cup of tea, please go elsewhere, especially if you're just going to shill or troll. For all intents and purposes, it's not the same universe.

A fun one if you have a noble or a knight in your party is to encounter a stubborn knight-errant who demands a joust from a proper-bred party member - in the name of good sport. Of course, all the ruckus attacks a gaggle of beastmen.

Here's one I did: PCs on a mostly-abandoned side road encounter the burnt out remains of a toll house and a stone bridge. Before they can cross, a goblin wearing a filthy uniform and speaking atrocious Reikspiel hops out and demands they pay a toll 'to dat big Emprer git.' He accepts payment in food, preferably meat, preferably freshly-slaughtered; a donkey, for example, would be quite ideal. If the PCs attack him or try to dodge the toll, he starts screeching and summons his buddy, a troll that has been napping of boredom under the bridge.
>>
>>51851265
Ohhh fuck. This is an great idea. Totally going to do this.
>>
>>51851319
This was rather less inspired, but while sailing up the Aver in foggy weather, I had them flanked and attacked by river pirates, who announced their presence with a shotgun blast of arrows from either side of their boat
>>
>>51851413
My personal favorite so far was part of a larger quest. PCs were headed back to civilization through the fores, and came across some 'stealthy' orcs disguised as a bird, a bush, and a tree. When the PCs costanzaed at them, they attempted to add an air of realism to their 'disguises.' The bird orc started squawking in a cockney accent. The bush orc shook his branches in the nonexistent wind. The tree orc, thinking quickly...started yelling "tree, tree!" That is, until the bush orc punched him in the face and screamed that trees don't talk.

While the players were witnessing this debacle, a group of goblin skirmishers working with the orcs snuck up from the flanks.

The PCS got lucky and heard the goblins approaching due to good rolls, and quickly counter-attacked. The party's Bretonnian knight (who is a story all his own...) engaged the orcs, killing one and badly wounding another. At that point animosity kicked in and his bro buried a choppa in his head before getting Bretonnia'd.

That storyline was full of all kinds of feats. The party's Storm veteran, who literally has no fucks to give, taunted the (unusually clever) warboss into attacking prematurely by mostly appealing to his nobs. Then he stood down a charge from the warboss, dodged his charge, JUMPED IN THE SADDLE WITH HIM (massive penalty), and later put him on death's door with a triple Ulric's fury.

it says so on the map. According to Archaon, the "true Beastmen" live there, because they are pure without the tain of human, which kind of begs the question how exactly something can be a pure Beastman, without any Human in it. It would only be a Beast(of Chaos?) then, not a Pure Beastmen.

That brings us to the conclusion that Archaon is a fucking retard.

Sometimes, I wish that the Dark Elves were the main big bad instead of Chaos, since they feel more believable in some ways compared to 'we are all powerful and everything you could possibly do strengthens us.' But they also feel rather generic as an evil faction in some ways, and their society is not very well looked at - they seem lazy and shiftless, forcing everything onto slaves.

A dwarf ranger who escaped from skaven captivity. Hideously scarred, burned, and mutilated, he can no longer even grow a beard or hair. His hatred outshone his shame, and he refused to take the slayer oath, as most in his position might. A permanent vagabond, he has instead fashioned a beard from extremely fine iron links, fixed to his face with piercings. He adds one for every skaven he kills. While an expert in fighting the skaven, he is generally unwelcome in polite dwarfen society: not just because his refusal to take the slayer oath, his horrible mutilation, or because of his past as a ranger (a dubious group to most dwarfs), but because he seems to have been changed in some fundamental and unpleasant way. Nothing really brings him joy any more besides hunting and killing skaven, and torturing the occasional captive.
>>
>>51856716

The way I see it, 'true beastmen' are chaotically mutated animals. Perhaps penguins idk. Beastmen are the same, but their line has been diluted by consensual sex with the local slapper. A Demon is something separate, warp made flesh.

Archaon was a former imperial citizen so for him he uses the term beastman to refer to these animals whether there's any man in them or not.

A Kislevite woman who owns and operates a hotel along a major river (the Aver, the Talabec, the Reik). Fairly classy if a bit gloomy, most of the time, it only does modest business. During harvests, festivals, etc, it tends to be full up, often with out-of-towners. No one notices the occasional disappearance of a traveler, or finds out what happens to them: the hotel's proprietress has been extending her life for decades, using a bizarre form of Cathayan necromancy to 'steal' parts from sufficiently healthy individuals. The hotel is the latest con in a long series of schemes to acquire specimens.

Unless its an event that means absolutey nothing and is a footnote, Chaos is united.

Imagine every type of argument that has ever graced 4chan, magnified with such autistic efficiency and magical prowess that a discussion on whether to intentionally cast rain over an area of jungle that has seen an unplanned scarcity of precipitations by a few mm will drag on decades to decide the percentage of other elements to thin, track back the origins of the malfunctions of the weather, get derailed to /chaospurge/posting by the awakening younger generations, devolve into canon wars over what's the correct or the best set of plaques to follow, which between the correct and the best set should be followed, citations requests, refuting of implications until either the discussing parties go to sleep, each undertake their own actions ignoring the discussion, the huahua-poster gets banned or they all get derailed again by another slann joining the chatroom to request opinions on what he heard one of the younger races say about how to reproduce.

>According to Archaon, the "true Beastmen" live there

Archaon didn't name them, retard. The novel did. You know WHY they are called beastmen? Because unlike unpure beasts of the northen lands that become more bestial and ugly as they gain more corruption and favor from the gods, the True Beastmen evolve from being bestial monsters into handsome and human as gain favor from the gods. It's an inverse situation here. It's furries evolving humans with some animal features aka Beastmen.

I should kick your ass for not reading the novel before taking about it.

>Other changes inflicted by the horde’s time in the Realm of Chaos were more dramatic. The perverse, warping effects of their immersion had stripped the half-breeds of their bestial natures. Snouts had receded, horns had willowed and thick fur had fallen out. While they were still daemon-sired fiends, their animal appetites, thick tongues and the dullness of their brute minds were gone. These were beasts who had transformed into men. Manfiends, who while still small mountains of barbaric muscle, were now things of human cunning and infernal spite– quick of mind and fleet of hoof. Ograx the Great was still an imposing wall of brawn, wielding his fearful skull-axe, but like the horde he led, the creature had forgotten the foetid savagery of a former life in the Southern Wastes. While the lower half of his body was living brass, his powerful legs were engraved with Ruinous symbols, fretwork and decoration. His infernal features and crown of horns might now have been described as darkly handsome and were truly those of a prince.

No, you just cannot distinguish between Beastmen and Manbeasts, True Beastmen and ordinary Beastmen.

Southern Beastmen are the real beastmen because they are Beasts that transform in body and mind into men. They lose their dullwitted savagery for human cunning and inviting handsome features.

Normal "Beastmen" only get more bestial and inhuman as they progress in the corruption ladder. They should be called Man-beasts since they are beasts with faint resemblance to humans. In fact, a lot of Beastmen are humans who transformed into beasts.

It's the difference between Batman and Manbat.

>not just humans turned beast, they are beasts turned human as well.

Ahhh...butt here is a difference. These guys mated with each other over many generations resulting into the mongrel beastmen races of the Old World. They are tainted by human linage and thus an inferior breed. They continue to devolve into animals as they progress through their lives.

True Beastmen have ZERO human blood in them. They are descendants of animals and daemons mating. They are a superior breed due to the fact that they don't have human blood tainting their genepool. These guys evolve into being more human in both form and intelligence. They become handsome and beautiful. If they weren't living in a daemonic hellhole of the Southern Pole, this master race that has the strength of the mongrel Beastmen and the intelligence of humans, would have dominated the world a long time ago.

If you can sort of... reverse engineer how the catalogues were developed (those Mordheim ones in particular, I mean) then it isn't too difficult to create or update stuff yourself. Especially with the improvements version 2.0 brought.

However, it gets more complicated if you wanted to share them with the world the "official" way. Once you're happy with it, you make a GitHub account, then your own branch, open the catz/gstz file(s) (which are archives), copy the raw xml code, and paste it over whatever you want to update. Then you pull request and someone eventually makes it a release.

I did all the current Kings of War 2 files (I know, I know.. heresy) so I can help if you have any generic BattleScribe-y questions. I am not familiar with Mordheim, though.

So in light of myself making forays into Fantasy I figured I'd try and build a fluffy Dwarf list as what's the point in being 'competitive' in a 'no longer supported' system. Plus that'd be boring as fuark.

I haven't fleshed out the points yet as I'm still reading the Dwarf army book.

Lord,
2 x 20 Warriors
20 Quarrelers,
10 Hammerers
2 Gruge Throwers

Purely for casual games on a mates green mat.

Also, does Clan Angrung have an established colour scheme?
>>
>>51875107

What points level is this at? 1000 or 1250ish?
>>
>>51875470
Yeah around that mark. I had 1000pts in mind but 1250 is fine. Really just for casual games as my store is majority 40k. I can always use these guys in AoS too if I feel so inclined.
>>
>>51875470
But just off the back of that last comment I'd rather not sully them and listen to endless bitching about bases and how I can't call them Dwarves anymore.
>>
>>51875518

Well if it's for casual games and you want just a small force I would do a few things.

I think Lords are very situational even in 2500 point lists, they're so expensive and even when built to smash-fuck they're average at it. I would stick with a Thane. You can build him how you please but don't put too many points in. This will free up quite a few points. With that I would either get more Hammerers (they're so soft, 4+ save, even at that level they may not make it into combat) or get yourself a gyrocopter for fun.

You may want to swap a grudge thrower for a cannon, just because it'll splat monsters and is just some more variety.

Great weapons on the Qurrelers and shields on the warriors I would say.

I take it you already own this stuff btw? They don't sell grudge throwers anymore is all.
>>
>>51875107

Oh and in regards to the clan, did you mean Angrund, Ironhammers clan? If so, it's blue and gold I think.

Thats cool that you update the KoW stuff tho
>>
>>51875795

Alright, well since you already own them and they're good just stick with the GT.

I would add a BSB and switch the Lord to a Thane. Two typical builds are...

Thane - 65
great weapon - 6
master rune of Gromril - 30
oathstone - 25
= 126

Thane - 65
BSB - 25
shield - 3
master rune of Grugni - 60
= 153

If you stick the top one in a Hammerers unit those cunts will not move come Hell nor high water.

The rest seems good I would just try and get some more Hammerers, as I say, they die as easily as warriors even though they hit like a ton of bricks.
>>
>>51875901
So keep the original list but have a thane instead of the Lord and have 20 Hammerers? I do have the Belegar Ironhammer model too so I could use him as a Thane on oathstone.

Warriors with shields and Quarrelers with great-weapons.

Runes of accuracy/penetrating on the Grudgethrowesr?
>>
>>51876005

I would take both but if you have to choose, accuracy.
>>
>>51875823
If you install it on, say, Windows, it comes with an executable named DataEditor. Run it, open one of the Mordheim catalogues (whatever you think is pretty), and save it as something new. From that, you can gleefully plagiarize your way to entirely new files, and learning a lot simply by the examples you run into. It's a really intuitive program. Most of the time spent making this stuff is just tedious data entry. Plus, you can easily backup and share the files you make with Dropbox links.

Or don't. It depends on how much it matters to you, of course. =)

Two questions, 6th edition, pic related.

>one

Why would I put a Necrarch vampire on a steed?

I assume I want him behind my lines or in a unit spell-slinging, near the center of my army. I've only played a few games, and having one on foot within 5" of a friendly unit (so he can't be targeted by spells or shooting) has worked out great. Am I missing some sort of advantage here? Won't he get obliterated by enemy spells and shooting if I mounted him?

>two

Warrior and power familiars. They actually require a base? If I have a character with a familiar and they join a unit, do they take up two spots?
>>
>>51876993

To the second question, yes as far as I'm aware.

Not sure on the first question, I have no experience with 6th edition VC but I assume you're right. If you want him in a bunked you'd need a mounted one which the VC don't have. So I can see no reason to mount him. Is this a common tactic or something?

How are the dwarves still friends with the Empire again? The deeds that Sigmar did were pretty great, sure, but considering all the slights and failures to uphold alliances in the past...

Also, there's been a lot of discussion on if Chaos can affect the undead, etc. But can necromancers raise Chaotic corpses or spirits, or do the Chaos Gods have a stronger claim on them?
>>

>can necromancers raise Chaotic corpses or spirits, or do the Chaos Gods have a stronger claim on them?

Krell used to be a Chaos Lord, but then again, Kemmler made a pact with the Dark Gods, but then again, Krell originally served Nagash (during his first time getting resurrected) and ultimately ended up serving Nagash again.

Hey I've been meaning to get into tabletop fantasy but from the recent introduction of Age of Sigmar I hear it's really bad. Is it still worth getting into? What are the changes because I don't understand a single thing. Apparently its been more streamlined and less fluff taken out or something, which sucks because I really love that aspect of Warhammer.
>>
>>51877717

Dwarfs and the Empire have a similar culture, well similar compared to everything else. Humans have many loan words from Dwarfs in the lore, suggesting they took them under their wing. Humans and Dwarfs both respect the law, a Dwarf can prosecute a human in a human court if he's been wronged. You can't say that about many other races.

Lots of Dwarfs live in the Empire and they must take this into consideration when dealing with them.

Most importantly though, Humans are Dwarfs biggest customers outside their own race.

They have the odd tiff but these things always bring them back together. If they had to choose between a Human and another Dwarf though they'll general fuck over the Humans I would reckon.

Play either the previous editions, Kings of War, or the fan-made 9th Edition from Warhammer Armies Project.

There's also 9th Age which is distinct from the aforementioned 9th Edition, and has attracted a lot of skub lately due to becoming less like Warhammer and more of its own thing with new fluff and stuff.
>>
I thought warhammer was dead? Like, even before the end times? Are these threads just for edgelords? They get more replies than whfbg ever did.
>>
>>51877717

Plus, well, they are almost a key part of each others major religions/cultural norms.

For the Empire, for example, the dwarfs both fought alongside Sigmar himself and forged the symbol of his entire cult; Ghal-Maraz. For serious simarites, dwarfs are almost holy. They are certainly revered as the first people and highly respected in a country where the closest the peasantry comes to literature is being preached at that dwarfs are the shit, so they get plenty of respect.

For dwarfs, you have to understand how hard they stick to oaths and grudges. The oath of alliance they made to Sigmar is still as strong as when it was made. The dwarfs never forged such an alliance with any other race, not even the elves at the height of their alliance. Hell, not even with various clans was such an alliance forged, such was the bro-tier shit that Sigmar and Kurgan Ironbeard had together. The dwarfs would never break the alliance, lest the high king himself go full slayer mode. So it's both very practical and highly cultural to keep friendly with the Empire

GW is no longer updating/supporting the setting, but Oldhammer and WHFRP are still a thing, and people can proxy and play in the WHFB setting using KoW/9th Age rules anyway. And then there's the Warhammer vidya like Total Warhammer and Vermintide.

AoS is a totally new universe. It carries over a lot of the aesthetics of the old one but none of the depth.

In terms of rules it's been massively simplified. It's now a skirmish game comparable to 40K but even more streamlined than that, we have four pages of rules currently.

Being honest anon, you have to play what people play in your area, but AoS is total garbage and that's putting it mildly. If they have square based armies, talk to your group about switching back to Fantasy, The 9th Age or Kings of War. Otherwise I honestly wouldn't bother until the second iteration of the Generals Handbook comes out, and even then unless they do a complete about turn it'll be another steaming pile of horse shit.

I really doubt the new kids are 'living those days'. I'd be surprised to see AoS still around in 5 years. If it is, it'll be a totally different game which is GW admitting through a back door that they were wrong.

I actually have a better idea than FW picking us up, sell the rights to Warlord.

just ask anon, go to the gw stores and ask people if they would be interested in playing older editions outside the store if you have to. In the end you'd be playing the game which is what matters. Whether its gw's sweaty man dungeon or a fellow wargamers den of inequity it matters not if you are playing right?
>>
>>51878661
I'm aware of what happened to Rick and his opinions on GW marketing taking over. That has changed though. The kids are definitely in a new renaissance of the game. Free updates and rules, constant clarifications, some of the best models ever made (though some are questionable of taste). It was like the good times of white dwarf. It is online now though. Keep up m8, If you think aos is dying then I don't know what to tell you. I find a good indicator is wip threads on any site. Look at them and you will see a lot of aos.
>>
>>51878756

It hasn't though, GW's drop in sales is what's prompting this more open approach. As soon as they pick up or it doesn't appear to work they'll drop all this shit and try something else.

> Free rules and updates.

Really anon... I've seen free rules written by amateurs that are better than AoS.

I think the FW part of Warhammer Community is like the old WD. I actually saw them using LorT figures with 3rd party spears, which genuinely shocked me. No doubt GW will start selling them in case Chapter House gets a look in.

AoS has stabilised and probably will hobble on for some time. I just hope you like Stormcast and fighting Stormcast.

In better news I just finished am 8th ed regiments of renown game against a wood elf player which I won by the skin of my teeth(my first victory against her) , it turns out basically nothing in the world can beat angry dryads except one very baller inner circle knight.

Some highlights of the match included My knight dog of war chasing down some fleeing dryads into a poisoned forest, where he promptly was stung by a mosquito and perished, meanwhile Frederic(my inner circle knight preceptor, managed to hold off 4 dryads for 3 turns while on a single wound), then his relief force of 2 greatswords charged in and were slain before landing a blow on the dryads surrounding Poor Fred. He then managed to rout the fuckers and grind his way singlehandedly through the rest of the bastards.

The moral of the story is fuck dryads

Pic related is my hero, Sir Frederic and some of his mottley band

No, Chaos owns the souls of their worshippers and when dead, their soul goes back to Chaos

Their remains can be animated as any other skeleton tho (Only exception being Krell, who, since he was originally animated by Nagash himself, could get a "pass")

And invoking chaos spirits, while possible, would fall into Chaos magic, which is unrelated to necromancy (or not, if the necromancer fucks it up)

so do I anon, there is some hope though so don't despair.
Try one of the following.
you could grab a steam mod which tweaks siege a little, for example 80% tower hp makes the siege towers actually killable if they are focus fired before they hit the walls (just) and that makes sieges a tad better. also a general nerf to wall/tower hp of 20-35% leaves you with walls that can actually be destroyed in segments by yourself or the ai without completely wiping out the ammo of 3 siege units (eg one empire cannon could take out 2 wall 'segments' and a tower before it runs dry.
made sieges a decent amount better for me, at least more dynamic and less outrageously easy to defend(as the ai can actually destroy walls now.

Addionally anon we have option 2, pray. With the 29th feb bringing ca supporting campaign BATTLE map editing to the map editor(since community cracked it and they were in damage control) we have the abilility to at the very minimum, 'paint' areas on the map to make them load a certain battle map, which you can have alter depending on faction who owns it (think if you fight in high chaos corrupted lands sometimes battle map gets all spikey)
from there hopefully CA releases some SIEGE map editing tools so we can make some real cities with multiple defences (the ai is pretty shit though so good luck with getting them to work intelligently (just look at sieges normally)

3. I believe 2 of the human/dwarf siege map 'layouts' have an actual bit of variation, raised causeways looking down immediately upon the walls you can use as a second layer of defence. at least these maps have some variety.
I think a lot of the problem with ca's current design is that walls are so outright indestructable that it is NEVER advisable to fall back into the city at any stage. I thought by decreasing wall hp it would subvert that

also why can't giants attack walls(its actually unmoddable too, god knows I've looked for hours through every damn database)

The Warcraft games were going to be adaptations of Warhammer Fantasy but GW mishandled licensing, leading the Blizzard team to create their own setting. Warhammer Fantasy was also going to get its own MMO long before the emergence of World of Warcraft, but GW cut funding to the project. Warhammer Fantasy could dominate the fantasy scene today if GW had better handled the emergence of video games. They're only starting to do it now 20 years too late. Very little foresight. Failure to market the IP in other mediums probably contributed to the loss of sales of the tabletop game, ultimately leading to its cancellation. Sad.

Dark elves count as elves, but usually pegasi are superior if you really want it mounted.

Goblins I honestly have no idea if you can mount a mage on a wolf, but if you can, it's brilliant!

the Little Waaagh has tons of useful spells, and it fits perfectly the "cheap, annoying, elusive unit" that wolf riders fill!
>>
>>51887406
You could argue that it's the classic tale of someone who, in fighting against fate or trying to avoid it, actually brought it about. In that case, no one is really in the wrong - Archaon, willing or not, was going to do what he was going to do all along. Even if Sigmar had spoke, it would have been somehow twisted.

But it was also really badly written to have Belakor have a reset button to force the prophecy to happen, in cases where it otherwise would not have. So it was not actually a thing of fate, it was the machinations of Chaos. Things would not have managed to go differently, because Belakor would start things over every time that happened. (Why he didn't just make it so that Chaos won against the Elves early on and devoured the world early is beyond me).

>>
>>51888012
Then Be'lakor should never have gotten that power back. He either has it at all points or doesn't.

>>
>>51888054
>>51888054
>Then Be'lakor should never have gotten that power back.

But it served Tzeentch's purpose. Archaon and the Chaos Gods manipulated Be'lakor into creating Archaon for them. The Chaos Gods are omnipotent in the Warp. If they proclaimed in unity that Be'lakor be cursed and then he would be cursed in all possible timelines. Tzeentch was full aware of Be'lakor's little ploy with Archaon that's why you see him preparing Archaon with knowledge and the means to break his bondage to his Father-in-Darkness.

Also you forgot something. Due to the realm that they live in and what they are made of, the Chaos Gods are hopelessly mad. Some argue that they aren't even sentient.

Tzeentch is all powerful but he doesn't have the power to suppress freewill. Archaon fell because he choose to fall (and the fact that Sigmar didn't rescue him. What the hell, sigs?). Then he tried to kill himself but found out Be'lakor won't let him.

So he found out there is no gods, only Chaos. That was supposed to make him a willing Everchosen, instead it made him want to destroy EVERYTHING to become an omnipotent god and start reality over. Implications being Archaon wins and becomes Yahweh.

>He's still alive, he never died. End Times ends whith him pinned under his dragon and AoS begins with him having fused with it.

But he did. The Chaos rift consumes him in the End Times. And he wasn't pinned under his dragon. Rocks fell on him as he pushed the Everqueen away trying to save her. His legs got crushed and he watched Tyrion and the Everqueen hold hands as the world ended.

And AoS says nothing about him fusing with anything.
>>

Is it clear why Sigmar didn't answer his call?
>>
Speaking of Middenheim, their Storm of Chaos models are a fucking bomb on eBay.

Do you think I could just buy a few Teutongen Guard and use them as the Champions of my units? I'll probably try and get the standard bearer as well. They're so fucking expensive.
>>
>>51888656
That's not dying, and in AoS he merged with his dragon. That's why he looks like a Bayformer now.
>>

Sigmar was trapped in the Heavens wind by Tzeentch. He was only sporadically able to send anything resembling help or a message.

Archaon didn't see it as an excuse. Sigmar wasn't what he had been told, a heroic and all-powerful enemy of the evil things of the world, so Archaon ranted about betrayal and justice and yadda yadda faggotry.

>Sigmar wasn't what he had been told, a heroic and all-powerful enemy of the evil things of the world
Well he was not wrong.
>>
>>51888795
Once again, Liber Chaotica did it better. The author realizes that all divinity is essentially magic and that all magic is essentially Chaos. This causes him to lose faith.
>>
>>51888320
Archaon fell because Archaon was weak, Archaon was evil, Archaon was a coward. He didn't warrant help from Sigmar.
>>
>>51889024
Sigmar, pls
>>
>>51888932
Still a bitch reason to kill everyone.

How can Archaon remain so petty even after looking into the void? I mean, surely you ought to lose some of your pretensions after an experience like that, not become more dickish than ever.
>>
>>51889731
I think the idea is supposed to be that he went on a 'God is dead' tier sort of bitterness about the cruelties of the world and the lack of power of his own gods compared to the Chaos ones, and wanted to tear the whole thing down.

Lots sadly, I mostly play undead or nightstalkers in KoW now.

Even my dorfs see more play these days.
>>
>>51890301

You should try and keep it in a cupboard or a display cabinet if you want to show it off.

Are the Empire equivalent terrible in KoW or something? Do you not want to ride out and smite Sigmar's enemies one last time?
>>
>>51890393
They aren't horrible but I stated doing an undead army 2 years ago to match them and now I kinda can't stop collecting new armies.

I totally need a cabinet, right now they are just sitting on my bedroom fireplace and it's a pretty meh situation
>>
>>51890536

Yeah I'm the same at the moment. I haven't even built my Empire army and I'm already sourcing OOP Dwarfs.

So what are the differences between the Kurgan and Hung? And is there anything that talks about whats down in the South Pole? And what's up with Chupayotl?
>>
>>51891450
It's difficult to say - I think the Kurgan are more Turkish, and the Hung are more Mongolian, but obviously some things cross over in that regard, and the Kurgan have a Mongol-like relationship to Kislev's not!Russia. Some people have argued the Hung are Native American, and the Kurgan are Mongolian only, based on the Hung's vague position also in the equivalent of North America.

stormcast eternals

>>51891705
Okay.
>>
>>51891489
It looks like like the Huns/Mongol stuff is shared between the Kurgan, Hung, Ogre Kingdoms, Hobgoblins, and parts of Kislev and Ostermark.

This is why it's a bit pointless trying to draw too much from the historical regions of Warhammer.

GW just took cool themes from many of the most infamous groups of history and sprinkled them around quite generously.

>Hung are Native American

Are there beastmen in Naggaroth? It'd be cool see New World beastmen being inspired by Native american. The centigors would be Comanche inspired, their bray-shaman could have access to Lore of Heavens, etc.
>>
>>51881452

Sounds fun. I should give RoR a go, the only thing that annoys me is how ranged units have a 360 degree field of fire but can still be charged from behind, which makes no sense.

Are you building towards a bigger force?
>>
>>51891885

The Dark Elves do have watchtowers to their north but I think it's more for Demons.
>>
>>51891924
Yeah, the Malus Darkblade books say it's for daemons and marauders.
>>
>>51891885
>Are there beastmen in Naggaroth?

Malus Darkblade fights some, so yes.
>>
>>51892000
Wasn't that in the Chaos Wastes, or was it still Naggaroth? I can't remember since it's been years since I read them.

God damnit, Deathblade actually made me tear up at the end when the undead, paralyzed body of Spite was still trying to claw its way to the now, liquified remains of the possessed Malus.

The Lady really needs to get herself a bra. Look at that splitting.
>>
>>51891885
There's rumored to be lizard-like beastmen - I can't find the fluff piece, but there's a short bit about beastmen outside the old world out there.

I like to imagine there are probably 'tribes' of escaped slaves, since slave revolts are actually encouraged by Malekith to weed out weak Dark Elves. Beastmen will probably exist as well just because they have so much forest that they could not have possibly cleared - though I believe earlier human tribes were cleared out when the Dark Elves landed.
>>
>>51892030
It's something of a hazy line, but probably closer to the former than the latter. In any case, Naggaroth proper is covered in forests and linked by land, there's bound to be warherds of Old World style ones, besides the rarely-mentioned lizardman beastmen.
