What are some good waifus or companions in general from fire emblem jumps?
>>
>>51785242
Self Replenishment at EX wouldn't be toooo much bigger since even at A+ it's only a small amount per turn. Maybe something around...20-40 units of prana every 10-20 seconds or so? That's about the max storage of the average human Magus so it seems pretty right for it.

Self Modification, think of it as basically shapeshifting, even into pretty sizeable monsters, but it takes time to do. Like super plastic surgery. You can graft other peoples bodies into your own to gain their abilities and knowledge, though you'd only be able to take in so many, and probably do all sorts of freaky bioengineering shit with your body with just a few minutes work.

God Slayer just increases the damage you do to Divine beings. Counter Hero just applies an automatic magical debuff to the stats of any heroic when they try to fight you.
>>
>>51785702
Val, I was browsing another thread about Fate and saw >>51784785. Would the NPs be valid at those ranks?

Really hoping the cross-thread link goes through.
>>
>>51785702
I know you must get sick of answering fate questions but what can your average human mage even do? Anything impressive?
>>
>>51785655
You can never go wrong with dragons.
>>

Which one is the dragon?

I didn't play the games so I don't get he reference and have to ask: which of the two are you talking about?
>>
Greetings and salutations!

Work has slowed to a nigh stand still but I wanted to get this out to you guys and reach out for some needed aid. I'm struggeling with Items right now, which is weird because I thought it would hae been the perks, anyway I would like suggestions for items within the themes I've set up, to wit:
Drop-In's are going to be all about being out of context/outside the box thinking/exotic bullshit
Lemerians are the outright Reality Warpers but they have a few rules.
'Real' Scientist is a person struggling to do actual science and somehow managing it even though they are a Genius.
Renaissance Man is about being in the local stuff as a Genius of the Collages.
>>
So if we do a jump and then somewhere like 100 jumps later it gets busted into multiple equally awesome jumps does that mean we do each of them seperate jumps? Cause I really want to be the abomjnation out of a universe that ceased to exist.
>>
>>51785749
Not Val, but honestly that's a fair question. The Type Moon works tend to focus exclusively on freaks, exceptional prodigies and lther people with abnormal status, pigree, esources or advantages to the point where it's hard to say if a "normal" magus exists at all.

The best examples I can think of are Kenneth "Fast Wheels" El-Melloi (create a quicksilver blob golem thwt can snake through cracks in a wall/shield its' master from bullets/kill sith lightning auick tendrils, and with a lot of work set up a booby trapped maze containing demons, curses and spatial traps), Touko and Souren's colleague (shoot plumes of fire at absurdly, flesh vaporisingly hot temperatures) and Waver before that nonsense in GO (modify aforementioned blob into a cute maid)
>>
>>51785782
Drop in items be exotic materials that work super good for stuff

Lems get fractal or noneuclidean stuff like a fractal micromacroscope that can tell the entirety of an item by looking at a piece

Real science get a kickass lab that has 3d printing of awesomeness like ironmans lab

Ren man gets school and a kickass coat

None of those would be valid at the current rank and the EX one would be invalid at ANY rank. I'd say that without a lot more detail on the actual extent and limits the others would be similarly invalid at any rank too.

>>51785749
Well, the four basic arts each of the current Fate jumps detail are stuff any average adult mage could do at around those levels (Not the levels you need to pay for, the free ones) and usually a mage will have some sort of specialisation in a field on top of that, with the good mages going into multiple fields or going really far into one field of magecraft.

As for how good they are at those specialised fields? Magecraft is a ridiculously wide and varied thing and the majority of the characters we see are either super old or absurd prodigies of some sort so it's quite hard to give a good reading. I'd say if you were looking for stuff on that your best bet would to be to have a look at some of Kara No Kyokai's magi, since that series seems to have less focus on making the various Masters all stand out. About the only 'average' Magi in Fate I can think of is Waver Velvet and he's not even graduated from being a student yet.

>>51785800
Nah, Kaynenth is pretty far above the average magus. He's pretty beast as a magi, he's just stupid when it comes to the sort of war Kiritsugu made the 4th into. Touko is another freaky prodigy and the same for Cornelius I believe. There miiight be one or two in Yggdmillenia or maybe someone sane in Strange Fake but no one really comes to mind.
>>
>>51785749
Hate to say this, but you're kinda looking at this the wrong way, more so than that, you're asking the wrong question.

What do you mean by impressive? Type Moon Magi have a really, really skewed view of what is impressive and what isn't.

Example: Bazett Fraga? One of the precious few humans who can somewhat tangle with a Servant? Eh, so so, Modern Runes ain't all that impressive, plus she doesn't even do much research anyways.

However, a magus who, on the low, experiments on his family's magecraft for his entire life and patents some of his findings that lead to better reagent storage? A number of Clocktower Magi will look at him with a measure of respect.
>>
>>51785836
It's pretty obvious he's not asking what would be found impressive in setting anon.

>asks for average magi
>gets Rin and Lluvia
Man what are you smoking? Rin's going to be one of the top 100 Magi ever by WoG and Lluvia's close enough to be her rival.
>>
>>51785834
They are? Aw, poop.

That one witch in Aoko's main story who does some utter bullshit to make fairy tales come to life (which AREN'T considered reality marbles apparently) and made a potion from the abdominal fat of a god which buffs that is some next level weirdness, though.
>>
>>51785834
Kay, no problem. Was just curious what you thought about it. But I have another NP question: in the Type-Moon wikia it is mentioned that Reinforcement cannot be used on something vague (so reinforcing the sharpness of a knife is OK, but reinforcing the beauty of a song isn't), so how would a NP that can actually do that be ranked?

Or in Exalted terms, a NP that can add some number of additional successes to most actions.

Okay, from left to right in FE: Awakening you've got Tiki, Nowi, and her future daughter Nah. They're all Manaketes, dragon humanoids who sealed away their power to avoid going feral and can use a special stone to transform into their true forms temporarily. Tiki's got some baggage from living off again on again in magical stasis for 1000+ years and having a relationship with that age's previous hero, but she's supposedly the most powerful Manakete to the degree that she could destory civilization on the local continent if she went feral, thus the hibernation.

The other chick in the aforementioned pic is Lucina and she's pretty cool to. Most of the main cast of Awakening are a pretty likeable lot and there's plenty of waifubait if you wanna go looking for it.
>>
>>51785872
This, also one of the few certainties of magecraft is that Reinforcement is considered lowtier useless magic not worth studying much. Which is why a spar employing it doesn't even raise that many eyebrows at the Clocktower. Shirou's entire arc is how he somehow turns it and Projection into something that can outshoot Gil with the power of his Reality Marble.

And don't forget in one of the routes Rin goes on to apprentice under Zelretch, meaning she'll eventually learn how to use a True Magic properly. And True Magics used properly can stalemate TYPEs and stomp all but the most exceptional of EX Noble Phantasms.

Currently she's "merely" reliant on a prohibitively expensive jewel based magic system though.

Yeah, Mahou is some crazy shit. Great art though, love the way they show all of Touko's stolen crests and Lugh;s whole design.

>>51785891
It's pretty wide and the sheer variety of it, unless you're keeping Reinforcements limitation of only boosting the main purpose of the object/vague thing, that variety will boost the rank quite a bit. After that it depends on whether you're wanting it to be an ability/spell like thing that just works like Reinforcement, i.e you put magical energy in to enhance something with an upper ceiling on how much you can put it that can be extended to a certain point with skill OR if you want it to be an ability that just makes everything you do better.

So basically, do you want to keep the limitations of Reinforcement or kick them and do you want it to work like Reinforcement or have it be a constant buff on everything? Going with the former ones will make it cheaper as it's more limited and going with the latter options will make it higher ranked because it's a lot more variable/constant and doesn't rely on energy costs.

>Eventually save the world
>Learn that one of your friends is some extraordinarily old being called a Jumper
>They could have saved the world alone in an hour if they'd wanted
>They claim that they loved your character arc too much to change anything
Have you ever done this? How did people react when or if they found out you had knowledge of the future and didn't act on it?
>>
>>51785891
Why not just get Excellency charms from an Exalted jump?
>>
>>51785943
The first one, where you put in magic and get better output than normal and only boosting a single aspect per casting (so casting it once on a car might enhance its speed or maneuverability and casting a second time might improve its 'protection potential' or something like that)
>>
Does anyone know some "defeat/kill something, gain one of its abilities" perks of the top of their head? Similar to the Majin background in Dragon Ball Multiverse or Data Drain from Generic Virtual World?
>>
>>51785966
Stacking, my good man. That and the fact that unless I rearrange quite a bit of my chain I kept Exalted settings quite far away from the middle point where I took the various Fate jumps.
>>
>>51785970
Ah, Reinforcement is more the constant maintenance thing, not a one and done cast spell that'll last for a while. So you won't so much cast it one time and then cast again as much as maintain two streams of energy simultaneously.

Anyway,So basically reinforcement with all the limits but able to work on vague stuff and it's not limited to the main purpose of what it's boosting. I'd say that'd be a D ranked ability Noble Phantasm. Got a huge amount of versatility but the power is mostly limited by a combination of the energy you have to give and the fact that there's only so far you can boost something. That seem good?
>>
>>51785963
>What the hell Jumper?! You had all of this power and knowledge and didn't do anything with it?!
So you think...
>What do you mean?
Let's see: the world was saved? Check. Nobody was permanently hurt, scarred or killed? Check. You develop quite a few powers and got yourself a waifu in the process? Also check and check.
So tell me, does that not count as a win?
>...
>I still don't like you.
>>
>>51785862
Was Rin pulling an Excalibur face at 0:30?
>>
>>51785986

Magicite Creation from FF6, Only works on spirit/magic based beings, but if you kill them they leave behind a magicite crystal which teaches you spells based on the creature's abilities and can be used to summon the creature directly to use its strongest ability on your behalf.

Having that and then taking the 'everyone teams up against you' drawback from one of the Fate jumps should get you some pretty epic-tier magicites from all the servants you'll have to kill.
>>
>>51785986
Well to note a local Jumpmaker Gaunlet has made the Kill Anything Combo which is...

Talimancer (Overlord [LN/M/A]) stores spells in physical objects + The Abyss of Magic (Overlord [LN/M/A]) makes any spell able to grow beyond its limits via time & effort + Sting (Worm) bypasses the physical defenses, up to and including dimensional quackery + Balefire (Wheel of Time) to unmake the target's existence + Magic Must Defeat Magic (Jackie Chan) makes it bypass any non-magical powers these things are using + Warring Warlock cancels/erodes their magical defenses + Anathema (SMITE) defense reduction + Blessing of Stravhs (The Banner Saga).would create an attack that kills perma-dead + Conjoined Conjures (Cardcaptor Sakura) to make the magic play nice + Safety First (Cardcaptor Sakura) so that if it ever was used against me/Reflected/etc it wouldn't work full stop+ Final Casting (Demon King Maoyuu) for the full full weight of my magic behind each spell

>>51786024
I wouldn't be surprised Luvia is basically what she'd be like if she were rich and not forced into poverty by the circumstances of her family.
>>
>>51786016
Yeah, that's what I meant by casting, as in separate instance of being used. Also it does seem pretty good and I'd imagine that getting it at rank EX would make it REALLY buff or something?
>>
>>51786042
I've got no fucking clue what it'd do at EX since it's power is entirely dependent on the magical energy you put in, not a static buff, and it can't be expanded in versatility any more then it is now since it's versatility is already 'yes'.
>>
>>51785963
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

If I do everything for them, they'll never learn. Also, it's much more fun to suppress your own power and take part in the epic quest to vanquish the demon king, than it is to just teleport a brick in his brain, or kill him through any of the other 1001 OOC powers you have.

I'm this Anon. Had to quickly sort out some chows.

>>51785749
To answer the question though, well, there are a few magi that come to mind. I'm using the definition that a "Magus pursues Eternity".

The Emiya Family as their magecraft deals with Time Manipulation, their Crest was so bullshit, the Clocktower put a Sealing Designation on it to study it further. Considering what we saw Kiri do with a threadbare amount of it, we could only imagine what else was in that Crest.

Satsuki Kurogiri, Sealing Designate and known as the Book of False Gods. He speaks the Unified Langauge, aka the Language connected to the Root itself, which allows him to communicate with any creature on Earth or completely hypnotise anyone he wants. However, considering that he was kidnapped by the fae as child and managed to escape, I suppose it's up to you ponder on if he meets your criteria.
>>
>>51786093
Neither of those are 'average' in the sense that is being discussed anon, as was told to you before. Average in terms of power is very different from average in terms of goals. Stop giving such a incorrect impression.
>>
>>51786053
And what about a NP that give a passive boost to quality/whatever when crafting/creating something?
>>
>>51785963
They never find out, because I'm either somewhere else doing my thing or I've been playing the part of a distant, but friendly mentor figure, or the distant helpful dude who has his own shit going on.

Certainly, the latter two had them asking me why I'm not going to sort shit out, and my answer?

> "Why? I've been helping in your training right?"
> "Why? I've got my own shit going on."
>>
>>51786120
Like before, and with every question like this, it depends on how large a boost you're wanting and how much you're wanting it to apply to.
>>
>>51785963
But I have a bar to manage and I DID give you all the free drinks you wanted, never called you on your tab once did I?

I also gave you good advice and healed up your buddies.

Also when in doubt I lie saying "Im bound to this location, if I leave I lose almost all my power"
>>
>>51785749
On average they can do basically anything. I'm really not kidding the range of Magecraft is just too large to get an average properly and because the only outliers we have are those that are 'too good' you get a situcation where people will shoot down any direct examples. The closest to average that I can remember is Young Waver, and that may be high/low balling it by other parties.
>>
>>51786170
>Anything
I meant any one thing.
>>
>>51786170
*anything not in the realm of true magic
>>
>>51786147
Sorry if I'm getting on your nerves.
To answer the two questions, it depends on how large of a boost I could get at A Rank and it would only apply to personal crafting endeavours (smithing a sword for example, crafting a spell or inputting commands in real-time into a CAD program, but not over an entire factory of something), really only at personal scale
>>
>>51785963
I've been slowly ramping up the difficulty of the settings I visit. The first Jump where I would actually have been in a position to do something like that, one of my companions had a mental breakdown and I needed to go tend to that, and drawbacks kept being a bother. When it comes time and I willingly bowed out, it'd be because of >>51786022 or >>51786059

I'd honestly rather keep the really preventable tragedies from happening and just leave the world with people who can continue to protect it than just coddle it with my own power that isn't all encompassing and knowledge that doesn't extend past the plot.
>>
>>51786201
Nah, just saying I really can't do anything with so little info cause there's no way to know what you're looking for.

Well, A rank and limited to just personal scale things, maybe getting a 50% buff to the quality of what you can make seems alright, since there's no upper or lower limit on what those items might be.

It really depends on the person. I try to ease people into the idea, but no matter what they're always a little feeling of betrayal that seeps in. Because to get to that point, I would have had to lie to them any number of times, by necessity. And because of the perks I've picked up I'm a damned good liar.

I really don't like thinking about some of those kinds of encounters. They tend to end with yelling and accusations. And every time Korra's face and words leap out again like the ache of an old, badly healed wound. Sometimes people surprise you, but not often, not when you've lied to them for so long.

Okay, I have a new jump that I wish to present for comments and criticism. Time to fly away with Peter Pan!
>>
>>51786433
I'm going to need a citation for which character in the series can blow out literal goddamn suns.

Because it's been a while since I've read Peter Pan, but I'm pretty sure not even that weird starcatchers series features Peter and friends fighting Galactus.
>>
>>51786433
Also, I'm damned certain Bane of Magic isn't actually a thing in any Peter Pan based series. Ever.

And that Tiger Lily's folks can't do actual magic.

And that the mermaids aren't goddesses

And that "zephrite" isn't actually a thing since Google can't seem to recall it.

And neither is the bracelet or the torch of darkness or the coral of corruption

You know what, the more I look at this the more it feels like you made most of it up. This feels like it belongs more in CYOA gen, because I am at a loss to figure out what most of it has to do with the actual Peter Pan stories.
>>
>>51786433

Is this the longest drawback list yet? it has to be in the top 5 at least surely
>>
>>51786477
Suns? What are you talking about. It extinguishes stars. You know, those little points of light in the sky, not enormous giant balls of fusion plasma.
>>
>>51786534

I usually pull the "It's not right for me to interfere" card. You know, talk about free will, personal destiny, that kind of malarkey.
"If I just did everything for you, it'd be kindof pointless, wouldn't it?"

... but if they're persistent about it?
I remind them that I'm not the fucking hero.
I mean, I guess it's not surprising that some jumpers will have skewed, sometimes even alien morality. But I think I'm one of very few who has ever played that card on PURPOSE.
Y'know, really debating with them about the merits of staging a full scale nuclear holocaust on someone.
They usually drop it after that.

... and, if they agree, it looks like the protagonist just gave me a blank check to give the setting a brand new villain!

It's me.

I am the villain.
>>
>>51786534
>kiss

Just so we're clear, it's not that one-ups are inherently wrong. But what on EARTH is this even based on?!

>>51786586
Oh well. Yeah, I'm skimming through and just jotting down the biggest offenders but to be fair-this starts off somewhat like an actual Peter Pan jump.

And then feels like someone else's story entirely. Especially when the writer hasn't seen fit to define what counts as a "god"
>>
>>51786477

Huh? Where did you get that impression? There's the Light Fairy Talent option, but that power is limited. Did you mean the Star-Talking perk? Because it's part of the book that Peter can talk to stars and blow them out like candles.

>>51786515
Actually, Tiger Lily's people have been expanded to use magic in some of the spin-off series. In fact the Zephrite Sands come directly from an episode in Peter Pan & the Pirates, The Wind and the Panther, in which Great Big Little Panther uses special rituals to manipulate the weather.

Similarly, the Devil's Bracelet and Torch of Darkness, though not named, both appeared in the series Peter Pan no Bouken.

Bane of Magic is a bit of an embellishment, but it stems from how Hook casually kills a fairy in the 2003 movie, and how there and in a couple other series there are times when he seems to use reality to limit Peter's powers; I can tone it down if you'd like, though.

As for the mermaids, please note that, as I emphasized in the description and in the footnotes, I mean VERY minor goddess - essentially the power level of a lake spirit or nymph; I take to the kami approach toward deities, where even a single mountain or house can have a small god.

Anyway, you have to understand two things about my work for this jump. First of all, I put incredible research into both the book and all the related series that have emerged over time. A couple of times I invented things such as Pearl Dream, but even then I adapted them from concepts presented in the other materials.
>>
Ironically the one thing I do recognise is Starstuff.

Which the author has a) conveniently neglected to mention that in sufficient concentrations can be utilised by a conspiracy of sentient shadows to rupture the fabric of the universe, collapsing it into darkness.

And b) absolutely is NOT present in the original stories.

Okay, as you may have gathered I am somewhat pissed by my original impression of someone trying to turn a children's series into some bullshit powerlevel extravaganza. I think I recognise your work from the past too, but I despise intellectual bias even more so it's not a factor. I am however vaguely relieved you've put more thought into it all than I had credited.

>Star-Talking

See >>51786568

>Tiger Lily's

I still can't find a mention of zephrite but the show does exist and the rainbow wand thing does definitely exist, so I'm willing to take your word for it.

>Peter Pan no Boken

Alright. Found them.

>Bane of Magic

I would definitely advise toning it the hell down, yes. To the point of being a 200/400 CP perk. The capstone of the pirate perk tree should, in my opinion, actually have something to do with pirates. As opposed to Asuna's Magic Canceller from the Mahou Sensei Negima series. Because absolutely none of what Cap'n Hook did sounds anywhere near to what the perk can do as written

>goddess

Well, then I'll just say again that "god" means a lot of things in a lot of settings, and that lake spirit/nymph would've been a bunch better descriptor to lose certian connotations. Ditto for the Drop-In capstone; we talking olympian gods, Aesir or Hindu overbeings here? Gods are all over the place. Nymphs tend to be more predictable.

>I put incredible research into both the book and all the related series that have emerged over time. A couple of times I invented things such as Pearl Dream, but even then I adapted them from concepts presented in the other materials.

I appreciate that, and I apologise for overreacting from a bad first impression. I will however ask that you update anything you've explicitly made up to cite what it's based on for the sake of clarity.
>>
>>51786433
>Dead Man's Chest
No, you need to find another way to handle leaving it in a past jump, it's too easy to abuse even without being able to move from the spot it was in a previous world.

>Rainbow Wand
Can the ability to change a person from evil to good be resisted?

That is an insane number of drawbacks. How the heck did you manage to think so many up? Holy crapbaskets.

contd if I find anything in nots but items actually seemed pretty okay.
>>
>>51786705
Not the jumpmaker, but as far as I can determine you start by default in the "normal" peter pan setting, but there's +0CP drawbacks to start in alternate continuities.

So...yeah, for better or worse it effectively is.

>>51786786
Seconded about the Dead Man's Chest, how did I miss that.
>>
>>51786433
>Peter and Wendy note rewards
Again, you have to put much harsher limits on stuff that lets you send yourself or others to previous jumps if you're offering it at all. There's nothing at all stopping someone from having kids sent back to loot whole settings as is.
>>
>>51786433
A Kiss or a Thimble - This perk is madness.

Mother Knows Best - According to the notes, I could take that perk and boss around even the Old Gods just so long as they look like kids. What the hell man? This is a 100 CP perk!

Silent Stalker - You don't hand out absolutes for 100 CP. Totally undetectable for that price? No.

They'll Sweetly Drown You - What... what is this even? I could see the first few sentences working as a perk, but then you top it all by allowing the taker to drown people IN FRONT OF OTHER PEOPLE without catching flak for it.

Betwixt-and-Between - A 150 CP Perk? Get out.

Shadow Sewing - For all the words you put into this perk, I still have very little idea what on earth it's supposed to actually do beyond teach expert sewing skills.

Good Form in All - Easily dwarfs the other 200 CP perks, especially Mimicry.

And that's where I stopped reading. The level of power in this Jump seems wildly out of place for the source material. I can tell you put a ton of work into this and I applaud you for that, but honestly I can't tell where you're getting a lot of these powers and their abilities from.
>>
>>51786433
So now that all my posts are done, would like to say that anything Ihaven't critiqued is really well done and the jump as a whole seems like it has a lot of effort (Seriously how the fuck did you come up with so many drawbacks?)

It's just that there's a bunch of problems that need addressing whether it's mechanical issues or balance ones.
>>
>>51786686
Um, I believe I spoke on that one recently so have a quick look in the archives? Little busy for a bit but if you've not found it I'll have an answer in...10-20 minutes? Maybe shorter, sorry.
>>
>>51786705
Yes, it's meant to encompass all of the different versions of Peter Pan, from play to literature to anime. The original island forms the backbone of the jump unless you choose otherwise, but even then, Neverland itself has been emphasized from the very beginning to be malleable. So it's not unreasonable for the other material to be present.

Plus, keep in mind that I wanted to gather enough material to satisfy all of the backgrounds. Certain groups such as the "Indians" were only given deeper attention later on by other versions such as the cartoons. Therefore, I included them in the jump.

>>51786671
First of all, like I said above, I included stuff from other versions of Peter Pan, including Starcatchers. I was unaware about it being used in a plot to destroy the universe, but consider that aspect gone for the sake of the purchase; wouldn't really be useful to buy if it drove the user mad or destroyed everything.

>>51786682
A Kiss or a Thimble: Is it too cheap? I was bouncing ideas off someone before I polished the jump up for posting here, and I was told that the perk wasn't really useful, hence why I cut it down?

Mother Knows Best: If I toned it down from absolute obedience to just being more inclined to listening to you, would that work?

Shadow Sewing: That bit of text was just my acknowledgment of how other settings such as One Piece have their own interpretations on what happens when you lose your shadow.

Good Form in All: What exactly was so good about it? I could switch it with By Hook or By Crook if you want.

Hmph: Like with A Kiss or a Thimble, the person who read it over for me though that the perk was fairly worthless, so I enhanced the abilities a little to make it harder to get information from you with the perk.

Star Talking: That's a shame; that was always a part that I liked in the book. If I took out the snuffing part and just focused on being able to communicate with them as living creatures, would that work?
>>
>>51786870
>A Kiss or a Thimble
I replace a kiss with death, and now i can kill anyone by giving them a thimble. There are endless ways to abuse that if you think even slightly hard on it.

>Mother Knows Best
It would yes.

>Shadow Sewing
Probably best to just focus on what it can do in this setting rather then having it change to work like how powers in other settings do.

>Good Form being switched
That'd solve both perks issues neatly yeah.

>Hmph
This person is sounding a little incompetent. It seemed useful enough to me, especially with the various examples that you gave off it and fitting for the setting but I can't recall anyone just being immune to mind reading or probing.

>Star Talking
It would, as long as the various resistances were removed too. You could drop the price a lot after those changes too.
>>
>>51786786
I agree with the Dead Mans Chest argument. Maybe make it that the treasure map leads somewhere in the current world you're in?

>>51786836
I'm not sure how you got Silent Stalker as an absolute? Looking at the document it says "those without significant perception skills will not spot you until you attack."
>>
>>51786868
Ah, had missed one towards bottom when searching it. All evidence of fights, including physical and magical is disappeared.
>>
>>51786682
The Island Come True: I didn't mean for a major change like you seem to fear. Basically, it lets you add something to the setting, like a special rainforest with dinosaurs or a society of centaur ninjas. Plus, it can only be a single "thing" you could create a desert with a vibrant culture or an undersea labyrinth, but you couldn't do both. If I also added that your change can only add something to the setting, and cannot alter anything already in the setting, would that work?

Pretend Eating: Those are the specific examples I know from the books. How about I say that it only allows you to mime mundane things (you could pretend that you are swinging a sword and have the cuts be real, but you couldn't make your sword have magical powers)?

Clap if You Believe- How about I say that it takes at least a hundred people clapping to save you? I could also make it so that it does not work once you have died, but will work while you are in the process of dying.
>>
>>51785963
>I'm actually recording all of this to sell it as a soap opera in other worlds
>>
>>51786841
Yeah, this basically.

It's sort of like-there's a good jump underneath it all, but it's cluttered by a pile of things I don't associate with Peter Pan at all you know?

>>51786870
Not the anon in question but-

>a kiss or a timble

Knowing where the people you asked probably came from, I'm going to say yes considering it's significantly more impressive than all of the 100 CP perks.

Incidentally, you should probably define Betxist-and-Between's limits a bit more unless the intention is to let Godzilla squeeze through the eye of a needle.

>Good Form In All
>Furthermore, whenever you are in a duel, you can selectively, throughout the fight, force all participants to follow the rules of good form and apply small penalties if they use bad form. That said, good form does not always mean morally good.

I suggest you simply cut out the part that lets you force all combatents to act in a certain way without any effort out to fix the perk.

>Hmph
>it is impossible for anyone to force you to tell them or say something you do not wish to. The severest of torture or even imminent death cannot make you say something you don't want to
>impossible
>imminent death

They were wrong.

>Star Talking

Yeah, that'd be fine.
>>
>>51786870
>>51786914
Just to clarify. With the Star Talking perk do you mean that the resistances only apply when you're trying to talk to the stars so it doesn't kill you?

I spent some time adjusting but really it wasn't that much different than home. After leaving home with my best buddy Megan, the Chikorita, we hobbled off to journey around Unova to help those in need! We chatted with all the pokemon as we journey and with their assistance there's nothing we couldn't do together!
As Megan evolved to a Bayleef they helped me walk around and it sped our progress. But not long after that, Team Plasma ran amuk! In the wake of it we were kept pretty busy but its a good thing we packed a medkit, rebreather, and the rapelling rig so there's nowhere people and pokemon in need were beyond help. It is in this turmoil we joined up with an in-training nurse Audino who went with us to heal and rescue the injured. We nicknamed her Audrey. After everything calmed down they joined us permanently. Or really we joined them; taking classes to become a certified Pokemon medical professional. I will admit, the Nurse uniforms were odd at first but were pretty comfortable. Still, I was happy when graduating I could wear something more masculine for my own practice. And just in time too! Because some remnant of Team Plasma returned and started freezing everything! Riding on Megan (now a Meganium) we rushed to Opelucid City and got to work.

We kept ourselves busy, the three of us, for the decade. We made lots of friends, both Pokemon and human and helped as much as we could (and were helped in return, bad luck and situations can be overcome if we all work together!). Still I had one masterball that went unused, I never really went out catching pokemon except with some basic pokeballs to help transport sick and injured wild pokemon. I tried to offer it to a green-haired friend of mine but he felt much the same, only traveling with Pokemon that wanted to travel with him. I guess I'll find a use for it someday but for now, its time to say goodbye and travel onwards. Audrey's got Megan's saddlebags ready and the Benefactor's waiting.

Bane of Magic: Any idea what I could use for a capstone for the Pirates, then? Part of the issue was that I wasn't sure what else would be strong enough. Do you think Roguish Ambush could work for the capstone? It's the only one I have that I think might be strong enough, and I have an extra low-level perk I scrapped for the pirates (involving poison) that I could bring back if that works.

Gods/goddesses- I'll tone it down to nymphs and spirits. What would be a better limit to state for The Island Come True, though? I wanted to make it clear that you couldn't go overboard with your extra addition.

As for citations, all right - I'll make sure I cite all of them, though it's going to make the notes sections extra.
>>
>>51786948
You don't understand, you can't offer something like this that gives free reign to add to or change other settings. Carrying over properties you've bought? Sure. Adding centaur ninjas to Platoon just case? That's meta as fuck and crazy. Even if it's not abusable to near limitless extents ( I add a secret potion that gives me this power in the setting so I don't need to spend CP on it in the jump for that setting for example) , it's still an effect entirely based on changing other settings and jumps.

>Pretend Eating
Mundane encompasses a vast array of things, especially in the chain. Can I mime an explosion and make a nuke go off? There's plenty of mundane superweapons in other jumps to imagine. If you need to have it, it'd be much better to limit the magnitude of effects that you can do, not limit them to mundane things.

>Clap If You Believe
Neither of those fix the problem. There's no real difference in keeping a few people in that aforementioned pocket dimension and keeping a hundred or a thousand. And the entire complaint was based on the fact that as long as you don't instantly die and keep people around, you'll never die because they always know when to start clapping.

It needs to have more limits, such as only being usable once per jump or not informing people whenever they need to clap and having repeated uses in one jump need more and more people to clap.

>>51786966
That would fix the issue, so long as it's only when you're talking to that that it works.

>>51786786
If I took out the part about being able to access its buried location after the jump, would that help?

Rainbow Wand: Yes, it makes sense that targets could resist the change. Thanks for bringing that up.

>>51786821
Peter and Wendy- I already have a lot of drawbacks, so I'm willing to jettison this one; I was already kind of unsure about it.

>>51786836

They'll Sweetly Drown You- I was basing this off how the Mermaids get Wendy to drown willingly in the 2003 movie, and how in the 1953 film Peter just laughs as they were "only trying to drown her." If I toned it down so that it just makes it less likely for people to resist or object, would that work>

Betwixt-and-Between- What exactly is the issue? Since the perk primarily focuses on gaining mundane abilities of birds such as their language and natural senses, I didn't think I should price it too high.

Shadow Sewing: Basically, the perk is meant to complement Shadow Biter. The latter allows you to sever shadows from targets, but it doesn't let you sew them on. The main gains of sewing shadows onto you would be that it allows you to claim the shadows for your own and control them if they get removed again. Plus, it lets you lock existing shadows together, sort of like the Nara powers from Naruto.

>>51786957
Betwixt- Again, I think I'm missing something. What does Godzilla have to do with the perk?

>>51786966
That was the original intent, yes. Basically, it was a safety clause so that you can actually use the perk without killing yourself.

>>51786986
Those are some good suggestions. Thanks!
>>
>>51786433
Secrets of the Land- Why the fuck is this undiscounted and exclusive to its background? It's barely better than the 200CP Mermaid perk.

Why the fuck is Tiger Lilly worth 500CP?
>>
>>51787000
>Rogueish ambition

Sure

>The Island Come True

I'd advise a complete rewrite that simply instead of cherry picking from other jumps (which comes across as too meta anyway), simply lets you create your own Neverland. Which is like the actual Neverland, but inspired from your imagination; so if someone dreams obsessively about making their spaceship, their version COULD have some big guns somewhere but is ultimately an imaginary funland first and a spaceship second. Kind of like what that kid got up to in the Where The Wild Things Are movie.

>>51787183
>Not the maker

Betwixt-and-Between (150 CP)- All human babies start out as birds before coming to accept reality and be normal humans. You, on the other hand, have held onto your bird heritage, thus giving you great insights into the secrets of birds. You can communicate perfectly with all kinds of birds, and you have picked up some of the natural skills birds have. For instance, you are an expert nest builder, you can tell an east-wind from a west-wind, and you know how to make targets regurgitate whatever is in their mouth or stomach with a simple strike. However, as you are not completely bird anymore, you will be unable to fly unless you picked up other abilities elsewhere.

>Because as written Betwixt lets you completely ignore the laws of physics regardless of the mass of whatever you're trying to squeeze through a crack.
I'm kind of lost on where you got that from?

>>51786870
>the person who read it over for me though that the perk was fairly worthless
This never ends well. What's worthless to one person likely isn't to another, and if you're pricing or scaling perks based off their opinion, you're going to constantly run into problems as other people pitch in. If you're going to balance, find your own system and stick to it.

Secrets of the Land: Oops! I meant for it to say "Discount Native." Sorry about that! I thought it was a pretty good perk, though.

>>51787162
The Island Come True- That's a possible approach, but there's one big dilemma: the Forever Neverland special drawback. Since the drawback essentially traps you in the jump forever if you lose, I wanted to give some incentive, so part of the prize for winning that challenge is that you get to take your own sister Neverland to grow when you leave.

Betwixt- ...Wait, are you talking about the Fit Just Right perk? No wonder I was confused; that's another perk entirely! What if I said that the difficulty in using this perk increases with the size difference; it makes it easier to slip through things that are just a little too small for your current form, but getting Godzilla into a mole's tunnel would be far too hard.
>>
>>51787243
I think maybe he mixed it up with Shadow Sewing? Shadow Sewing's the only place where I could see the laws of physics getting tossed out the window depending on how shadows are seen in other worlds, which the perk sort of depends on for shadow properties.

For items you can have 'scientific-sounding research equipment' and 'scientific-sounding magical research equipment' and '(generic item type)', which means 'You now have a item of some discription'. So just go for the goofy. Mad scienc-y sounding things are going to be common.

Geniuses really are more about making treknobabble work than 'science under strain'.

Remember. "Mages build Golems. Geniuses build 'robots' out of scraps."

Please, back off the 'Genius struggling to do real science'. That's not the point of Genius the Transgression. Give in to mad science-y terminology and all that.`

And I saw that years ago, I still like the idea. So thanks. I hav4e a build that really would love to get at this jump.
>>
>>51787287
Eh, firstly I'd say that's easily solved just by having the drawback not trap you forever. Secondly I'n pretty sure Neverland canonically isn't some adaptive mirror dimension, so you could always refluff the thing as reshaping/growing itself BASED ON YOUR IMAGINATION AND SIGNIFICANT IMPRESSIONS of future jumps rather than 1:1 copying, so there's new stuff based on the jumps but still at the vague powerlevels of the actual Neverland.

And sure, that fix works. Sorry for the confusion
>>
>>51787280
This is the version I got off a drive that an Anon posted a while back. I think it's the most recent one.
>>
>>51787374
Actually, Neverland canonically is somewhat adaptive to the imaginations of outsiders. It's why Wendy finds a pet wolf she dreamed of while in Neverland.

The major issue with making the Forever Neverland drawback not trap you forever is that that's the point of the drawback. You see, a lot of my other drawbacks are mental-based and focused on how Neverland makes you lose your connections to the outside world. The problem, I realized, was that they don't really inhibit you, since you remember your true self when any jump ends. Hence the special drawback, which lets you take as many drawback points as you like, on the condition that the Neverland only lets you remember after you've made the decision whether to stay or go. Now all those little drawbacks that you thought were harmless have much more relevance to your ability to finish the jump.

Rick and Morty has the best way to shrink things.

>>
>>51787438
Alright, and alright. In that case I think just having a note that specifies sister-Neverland can only recreate things which are already observed in Neverland will be sufficient. Advanced technology with practical applications is not, strictly speaking. the purview of children's imaginations after all.

>>51787592
I was thinking more in terms of importing, so I could do the lazy work of not needing to remodel anything myself. If I'm going to have to actually work I might as well just reverse-engineer the thing and rebuild it with the aid of miniaturization perks. Honestly, I should probably do that anyway.

Landing in Los Angeles, I found myself still missing that leg but I've gotten pretty used to that. Further all of my identification had been updated and I was back in the good ol' U S of A. I was however on the wrong coast and apparently about to get started in med school. I also a lot of my ID's had something saying I was a 'conduit' on it.
>>
>>51788053
Whatever that meant, I'd figure out later. Megan and Audrey were scoping out my small dorm room but after unloading our supplies from the saddlebags and putting them away, we left.

While I'd never been to LA before, I was pretty sure the military checkpoints and patrols were unusual. I got hassled by quite a few of the soldiers but Megan and Audrey were both part of what drew their ire and deescalated the situation. They assumed they were some 'video' conduit creation and that spiraled into conversations about their favourite pokemon (Arcanine and Charizard were common ones, though one soldier stopped to hug Audrey because they loved Audinos). We met a lot of people, learned how to get to my classes, and learned something about the world - enough that I could go back to the dorm and apply the correct google search terms to fill out what I didn't know mostly. A battery of tests of exposing myself to various things resulted in some blown fuses, a yelling RA, and confirmation that I had lightning powers.

Hell Yeah!

From there, it was a pretty chill decade honestly. Went to class, was somewhat famous on campus for being that guy who rode on a Pokemon instead of using a wheelchair, played a lot of Pokemon Go (Team Instinct yeah!) got another medical degree (filled in a lot of gaps that being an otherwordly vet and emergency responder missed out on), and got a job with the military as a medical attache - which I learned I could use my lightning powers for a lot of novel healing to compliment my more orthodox practices and Audrey's abilities. Still, the lingering threat of the constant super-powered gang warfare and bullets flying at any moment led to a great relief that the decade ran down and the Benefactor offered a trip to another world.

If you're selling something for 800 CP you should probably set out at least vaguely what it can do.

>I basically imagined it as shamanic magic and traditional rituals of Native Americans come to life, without getting too stereotypical.

This doesn't really justify the price tag as it doesn't tell us anything really.

Properties. Need to make sure they're balanced with each other, let me know if there's something I need to change.

-Extravagant Club (600CP) (50% off: Drop-In): In a world where Enhanced Beings are running around with powers men can only dream of, and the equally unlikely foes that they must fend off, it can make the average person terrified. It can also mortify the upper class, they who have been so used to believing they had control of their lives and power in the world. Fortunately you can provide them a haven, a Paradise if you will. This absurdly luxurious night club comes with a fully stocked bar, an exquisite stage, a large ground-level area with multiple floors to overlook the area, and a kitchen that easily merits three stars in the Michelin Guide. Of course, the more effort you put into improving or maintaining it the more money and fame it will rake in, but the amenities alone will spread word of this haven, all for you to enjoy in your private office overlooking the establishment. It’s good to be the king.

-Last Name Corporation (600CP) (50% off: Tech Expert): Why is it that every big-wig company here uses the founder’s last name for their brand? Must be an ego thing. Either way, with this you have your very own company as well! Coming with an R&D department, testing area, and even a financial/marketing department so that it can keep making decisions and seeking out profit even when you’re not around, and they’ll do even better if you happen to share any technological or scientific advances you’ve come up with! At least, as long as you’re not blatantly doing anything illegal. As for what this company does… that’s for you to decide. Maybe you’ll try to get into the weapons manufacturing market, or maybe you want to compete with Stark Industries and be an alternative energy company with ties into advanced tech. Maybe you want to do something else and go into biomedical areas. The choice is yours.
>>
>>51788371
-Tower Base (600CP) (50% off: Operative): A little strange to be having such a blatant area to stay in if you’re trying to be stealthy, but if the Avengers can do it then why not you? A snazzy looking high-rise building complex with an emblem of your choice on one side, this baby comes with its own landing pad and state-of-the-art commodities to ensure you’re relaxed and ready for the next mission. Forensics labs to look over what you got, luxury apartments for those you’ve granted access to, a fully automated security system looked over by an A.I. to ensure privacy, and an armory filled with equipment to assist you. It even has an advanced power supply that can sell the excess energy to its surroundings to handle upkeep and give a decent allowance if this was in a city. Of course, this tower could do better if you pumped more equipment into it, but it would hardly let you down even in a world of the Avengers.

-Project: INSIGHT Helicarrier (600CP) (50% off: Tac/Comm): Agents can do many things, and the strings of politics can win wars before a single shot is fired. Yet there are times mere words will not help. Sometimes, it takes force to remove filth. Time to get cleaning. This is a much more heavily armed version of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, created under Project: Insight. Repulsor engines for continual sub-orbital flight, a much larger variety of long-range and short-range weapons that can eliminate at least a thousand hostiles a minute, and a satellite with advanced DNA readers in orbit to assist with scanning and targeting capabilities to ensure maximum efficiency. This single Helicarrier alone could bring terror and death to a city all by itself, but its small fleet of weaponized VTOL jets for support will only add. You’re free to upgrade with your own ideas if it isn’t enough… but by that point all you’re doing is trying to make a bigger body count.

Seems pretty legit.

I might be seeing things, but if I recall its' layout in the Avengers movies-it does seem like Project INSIGHT can do everything the Tower Base can on top of being a weaponised hoverbase. Unless the bit about refreshing agents is supposed to be a bigger thing than I thought. Not sure how to fix though, since it is basically SHIELD's pride and joy.

Also about the Last Name Corporation-just to check, is the level of tech it markets meant to be of a level that can eventually be built into something like the ARC reactor? Or more like Hammer Industries?

>This, also one of the few certainties of magecraft is that Reinforcement is considered lowtier useless magic not worth studying much. Which is why a spar employing it doesn't even raise that many eyebrows at the Clocktower. Nah Shirou's arc is realizing he doesn't actually use projection, instead he casts summon sword level infinity.

Not really. The Tower is like a 'give operatives the intel and equipment they need' base while being a place to stay. A Helicarrier is 100% dedicated to fucking shit.

>

Default is somewhere between Hammer and Stark, but with options to upgrade the tech it distributes.

Before you or others might and call me timmy I was asking if someone working at the company might try something I never said that it was a trap option I was just asking because the company is great but there might always be someone or other companies trying to steal secrets
>>
>>51788675
so, in The Gods are Bastards this is a thing that happens a bit

for example, there is a dryad that went crazy at some point, and as a result she constantly creates pixies who are essentially fully sentient, but fully separate, parts of her. They draw all of their magic from her, but they are otherwise independent. I would ASSUME that you would be able to do similar things with enough power from the other schools of magic(holy in this case), but I'm not sure, as the story hasn't had any examples of living things being made with divine magic, and it's still a work in progress.

there are probably settings that are better for that kind of thing, but honestly I'm not sure. I know that I have looked for the ability to do something similar, but never really found something that I was happy with.
>>
>>51788675
Take the Angelroid creation tech from HLP and run it through the perk from Hero and Demon King that lets you turn tech into magic. Now you've got a spell / series of spells to make angelroids.

Then use Dark Wisdom to make it an easy to use Overlord (The Series) spell, and add in some Song Magic from Tonelico and True First Magic from Fate.

Take all of that and run it through perks and skills that enhance casting speed and the like, D&D has some neat metamagic, and you're golden.

I think Magitek Mastery from FF6's good for all-purpose living beings with innate magic, and Guru from Chrono Trigger to streamline the process. Or To Call Forth from Generic Sword & Sorcery, although by fluff it's geared to the more eldritch kind of lifeform.

For holiness in particular, a Herald from SMT can create lesser angels with thier holy light glowiness thing. In Bayonetta you can also buy knowledge of the "genetic code" to the 'verse's angels. And Samurai Deeper Kyo has the Scrolls on the Shaman Growth Hormone which can apparently teach how to cultivate supernatural powers in others. With the right mana nodes and god's backing in the Age of Ice jumps it's possible to create angels through magic too.

And for a /very/ arguable given value of divine, with sufficient good crystals it's possible to create an artificial lifeform called a mannikin of such quality, it appears to be a benevolent goddess using the technique from Dissidia: Final Fantasy. Though if you used certain crystals from the FF13 jumps it probably would have a legit claim to divinity. Those items in FF13-3 and FF13-2 which are fragments of deities might be a good starting point to start learning.

From the Retainer option.

Really like the concept and execution. Customization table might feel pretty sparse, but when you think about it, it's easy enough to build your own unique thing separate from Decade's and Diend's gimmicks.

Also, while I found it easy enough to figure out what the Heisei Riders would get, you might want to follow through on the writeup thing. I haven't watched any series other than Dragon Knight but I've got a LOT of pop-cultural osmosis done thanks to y'all talking about karate bugmen.

>>51789081
Don't get me wrong, it's an interesting idea and could be really neat to do. It's just the issue of trying to find something in the setting to justify that kind of thing.

S.H.I.E.L.D. putting a bunch of its bases in innocent looking buildings or the SSR putting its operations inside functional businesses MIGHT be enough, but I'm not sure how far that reasoning can stretch. So if someone can find a more functional justification I'd gladly put something in for property combinations.

Not bad but can there be an option to take Decade as a companion. Also, Decade did visit a few Showa worlds and got a couple W cards (as well as some unused sounds on the CSM driver for W-Drive) so can you add on the Showa and Neo-Heisei worlds since there'll be no other way to get Kamen Rider cards? This can be partially written off with the fact that Decade has appeared in the crossover movies and Wizcade.

There's also Diend and the potential for a route where you steal back your powers and items to get on his good side (or have him as a minor drawback/companion)

I'm probably one of the few who completely love Decade even with its faults and I want it to be the best jump possible.

Well, aside from the fact that my chain is so far low power jumps that just gives me a variety of skills and low level powers, so I wouldn't be able to instantly save the day anyway, if I'm ever called out on not interfering, which I usually try to do anyway, I say it flat it out: "I'm sorry I couldn't change those events. But if I did, it would have only ended in sorrow."

I actually had a conversation like that with Lucina, when she found out I was a Jumper. She asked me why I didn't save Emeryn, when I could have. I told her that Emeryn's sacrifice ended the war with Plegia earlier, because the people and soldiers had been moved by her actions and chose to fight for her ideals. That because of Chrom taking the throne, the nation was ready for war with Valm, and that since Morgan was the son of both Robin and Chrom, he would be able to rule Plegia while Lucina ruled Ylisse. I had allowed it to happen because her martyrdom allowed the forces of good to ultimately triumph. She understood my reasoning, but I think we both knew that her parents would probably never forgive me if they knew. So we never talked about my true nature again.

Brutus has made his decision. You've mewed about this twice under the same circumstances with the same bullshit pasta. There is no ill will between Brutus and SoAnon. There is no grand conspiracy against which you rail. You are no The Resistance.

Stop your pointless shitposting and find something else to talk about.

>>

>>51789637

>>
>>51789620
Its really more that we've had hidden bitchfits in the past that due to how the drive was being exploited, basically brutus had to be assigned the owner of all the files so people couldnt use their ownership tag to delete stuff. Plus people not being able to contain their shit constantly flip flopping between wanting all of their shit deleted and sticking by here is a pain in the ass

On the positive flipside this was used to quickly slip in updates but when someone fucks it up it sorta removes that method for everyone else

Basically having a neutralish gatekeeper is needed to maintain consistency for everyone else so one person's bad day doesnt shit over the entire drive... again
>>
>>51789620
This was something that was accepted by a majority of this community in the past, and won't be overturned just because a small subset of individuals want to raise a commotion over it. It's apparent that even if the jumpmaker presses the issue, it won't change what's accepted, so as other anons have told you, trying to raise a commotion over this is akin to shitposting. You will find no one willing to defend your position on this. Furthermore, in all likelihood, SoAnon is already gone, dragging the issue up further is just kicking a dead horse.
>>
>>51789662
Thank you for the context, but this guy is just trying to cause an argument. He doesn't care about the whys and wherefores.

>>51789491

Would upping the Hokuto origin cost to 300 and the Nanto origin to 200 be a better balancing for their inherent power or should I just up Hokuto to 200 and leave Nanto 100?

>>51789509

How about 300CP reward instead of 200?
>>
>>51789652
Yes, but it's unnecessarily edgy and it implies that he can casually kidnap and kill all your companions at the same time, who may very well be stronger than you. It's not "extra inventive", it's "by fiat, this dude in a post-apocalypse barely-greater-than-mundane world is omnipotent several times over."
>>
>>51789491
Seeing as it doesn't put you at the level of a master, and several other capstones put you at the level where you can match even a HS user with Musou Tensei, I'm gonna have to disagree with you.
>>
>>51789697
The scenarios are hard enough, I would say you should raise them to maybe 400, given their difficulty. Don't know if anyone else would agree with me though, as that would be quite the hike from where they are now.

Weren't they originally 800cp drawbacks? Why reduce them when making them into scenarios?
>>
>>51789637
The burden of proof is on you to show that there is some animosity there. You're the one making the claim. If you cannot show some proof of drama, and thus claim malfeasance, then you are shitposting either by way of manufacturing drama or arguing simply to argue.

Also, no, Brutus' actions are not ipso facto proof of beef. Circular reasoning will merely earn you a retarded gif and or webm as a response.

>>51789620
What is your standing for this series of arguments? Have you made any jumps? Does this effect you personally? If you've made jumps and you're concerned about ownership over what you've made, I get it and I encourage you to find Brutus and talk to him. However, if you do not have standing then, as stated above, you are purely shitposting at this point because you are the only one who has an issue with this.

Well for starts, I think you just gave me a new emoticon from that title.

>The Light is Red

Huh. That's new. Off the top of my head, it looks fine although with a drawback cap of 500 and a total apparent CP cap of 3000 I am wondering where all that extra CP is coming from. I presumed the 2 backgrounds thing was in part to compensate for the reduced CP cap with more discounts?

...also, assuming you have the capabiliites to navigate between/actualise different timelines I assume those limits in the boxes are meant to be fiat-strength?

>The Light is Yellow

...I'm not gonna lie, the CP caps are just confusing me further. Am I do interpret that Timeline 2 has NO CP cap if you go gauntlet?

Spiral continuity: oh boy here we go

In all seriousness though these look good. Wait. Hold on a minute these are starting to look famili-

-aaaaaAaaAaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABSOLUTE MADMAN YOU /is that a generic Junji Ito jump/

>The Light Remains Yellow

Okay, so-the "extra" drawback cap represents things which aren't labeled drawbacks but give you CP?

Spiral Senses: Is this ment to be only the mental effects, or also the physical ones at higher tiers?

Spiral Manifestation: How is this different to what happens anyway?

SPIRAL PLANET: AAAAA

Not a Lonely Universe After All: OH MY GOD

Life Finds A Way: I'm a little confused, exactly how does this worsen the situation? Wouldn't fish behaving like normal fish rather than killer zombie fish be-well, roughly just as dangerous but still.

Progressive Adaptation: Does this make the hosts giant too?

Reproductive Instinct: Um, exactly how much does this increase the rate of reproduction by? 100 CP would be a little cheap for millions of skin cell Tomies so I figured it wouldn't be quite that much

Cooperative Existence: WHY

(Cont'd)

Do you have jumps, supplements, or the like on the drive? How is this effecting you? I have yet to see a jump maker argue against this, so if you have made jumps identify them and explain what you're thinking.

Indian-giver is an American term that refers to the fact that a lot of Native Americans had no concept of land ownership. So when the European colonists 'bought' land from them, the Native Americans thought they were just renting hunting rights, and later moved back in, expected another payment, or just thought they'd still be allowed to hunt there too (which sometimes led to the killing of farm animals). So the term came to refer to someone who gives you something then later takes it away.

If you have abilities to navigate timelines that's on you, I didn't bother designing it with that in mind. That said, active timelines occur concurrently. I should probably rearrange the tables better to make things clearer...good to note. It isn't a matter of choosing a single timeline - but rather how many timelines won't be an active threat.

>Remains Yellow
I revised the system that I had used in Siren slightly, though because of the tiered nature of some of the conditionals, I might either have to take a tabled approach or just rework it into specific tiers. Trying to approach in a compact fashion hasn't been entirely beneficial.

Spiral Manifestation strips away any immunity you might have had to the effect of the Spiral regardless of range. will clarify.

Life Finds a Way allows the zombie fish to actively breed and create more zombies, at the rate that normal fish would breed, in the same quantities, except they all retain the same resilience that the zombie fishes do on land.

Prog. Adap. Not all of the hosts were giant, for the most part the sizes of the marine life remained relatively the same. Human hosts did show up in the part II of Gyo, though they were mostly the result of intentional late stage human experimentation.

Repro. Instinct. Hrm. I should probably reword this so that it's clarified properly from Blinded by Love. It's better used to allow Tomie to naturally "split" herself without harming her body (at least until the budding process is complete, unless you took Cooperative Existence as well.) Normally the process of reproduction for Tomie requires her to die first.

Cooperative Existence: Why Not Tomie?

Hmm. Good, I'll know which points to insert breaks and put in more detailed explanations with this.

>Self Taught Style is meant as an equalizer not a truly powerful style on its own. It doesn't so much give you the incredible techniques that having a Hokuto or Nanto style does, instead it gives you a level of knowledge and skill in martial arts to counter even the most overpowered techniques. Stop saying "the fact of the matter". It's not a fact that they belong to her, it's a matter of contested opinion. If I donate some books to a library, I can't just take them back because I'm unhappy they let gay people in. That's basically what SoAnon did, and it doesn't work that way. Because it's a community resource, and once I contribute something, I no longer have prime authority over what happens to it. It's something you need to accept when you make jumps.

Regardless, you've shown an alarming lack of good faith, so I bid thee adieu. Au revoir. Good day. Have fun getting angry at your manufactured "oppressors".

Tomie is Love, Tomie is Life.

The format that I'm working with is admittedly a bit odd (mostly in the Gauntlet protocol part). When I did it for Siren because the disparity between both options wasn't as apparent, I think it was easier to digest, so I decided I might as well see where the exact points of confusion would be (Too lazy to log in to SB, otherwise I'd just have posted there instead)

Basically the gauntlet protocol works depending on how many timelines you choose to have active concurrently. The CP caps are tied to that number of timelines, but you have to have a minimum of three active at the very least. So in order to reach that maximum cap of 3000, you'd have to have all 5 timelines active at once. God help you if you're stuck in Uzumaki while Remina and Tomie are hunting you with love, but that's your problem (and technically mine when I put my test jumpers through it eventually - they cried through Siren in any case.)

There aren't that many backgrounds though. Essentially one corresponding to each of the timelines, and then the survivor background is more of a "general grouping of things you might need to survive". It's "meta" in the sense that it literally is the closest to personal modifications - like tweaking the body and the mind to condition the individual for whatever batshit insanity they're looking to "entertain" themselves with.

I'll see about swapping Strange Fiction around. Admittedly in my head Fragments is simultaneously the most dangerous timeline and potentially the least dangerous timeline.

"Food" in this place is very fresh at least.

What's wrong with having some Tomie cells? As long as you keep them in containment and don't let them butcher themselves to split apart it'll all be alright...right?

So, um... how about that Strange stuff?

-Sling Ring (100CP) (Free: Enlightenment): For all the mysteries and wonders that make up the life of those who practice the Mystic Arts, there are inevitably things that they cannot do themselves. Things that require a focus… such as this small, two-finger ring that goes on the left hand. To those who are trained in the Arts, it can help create fiery portals to a place that is envisioned in their minds to engage in long-range travel or even travel to adjacent dimensions. Take a walk, but remember to be careful.

-Chakra Books (100CP) (Free: Enlightenment): It can be difficult for those who are unaware of the world around them to grasp that they know nothing. It can also be difficult to show them just how small their worldview has been all this time, or help them. But the first step to learning is awareness. This is a substantial supply of books regarding the body, such as a map of the nervous system, MRIs, and more importantly, chakra points and how to open them. These maps for the body will help bring awareness to would-be students, and how to show them the wonders of the world or themselves. For an additional undiscounted 100CP, you may also gain a substantial collection of spellbooks that will assist in helping you learn the formation of spells, the art of drawing energies to power them, and the basics in casting them. Just be aware that the warning labels come AFTER the spells.

Kind of fucky balance wise basically describes Hokuto Shinken to a tee though.
Although just the 400 Hokuto and its own and just Gou no Ken on its own, honestly are pretty close in ability.
THough yes you do need more stuff to match Raoh with Gou no Ken then you need to match Kenshiro with Hokuto Shinken
Of course that is just before either of them gets Musou Tensei

Couldn't you just ask Lavender over on /cyoag/?

>>51790113
Nah it was good to at least see where the cracks are. A lot of it works fine in my head because I can look at the document and pull out what I had in mind, but after obfuscating it with fluff things tend to get screwed over a bit. I'm only chipping away at this when I'm not busy writing Suzunaan anyways, so it's a bit of a pet project on the side.

>>51790130
It's been said dozens of times before, but no one will stop you if you want to write out a jump for yourself, even if an alternative already exists. Just don't try to upload it to the drive here. If you were sincerely just looking to write a document for your own use, whether it gets on the /jc/ drive or not wouldn't matter to you anyways. Don't spew any bullshit about wanting to share it with friends or whatever either, because you can do that easily enough without having your jump ever be on the /jc/ drive. It doesn't matter if you want to call it a replacement or a remake, if you do it, keep it to yourself and your friends.

> "Hey Rin?"
> R: "Yeah?"
> "We crossed over a few minutes back."
> R: "...what?"
> "Yeah...umm...also, I kind of need to introduce you some people."
> R: "...they're girls aren't they?"
> "...umm..."
> R: "...they all fell for you and took them along on you little adventure, didn't they?"
> "...well..."
> R: "..."
> "Rin? You squeezing me a little too tight there..."
> R: "-back."
> "Huh?"
> R: "Give it back."
> "Umm..."
> R: "MY CONFESSION!! GIVE IT BACK YOU WOMANIZING CAD!!"

And that was when I realized that my days as a cross-dimensional bachelor were over.

-Mystic Dojo (600CP) (50% off: Enlightenment): For the Masters of the Mystic Arts, the grounds of Kamar-Taj is their sanctuary, their fortress, and their school all in one. It is a place where they can open their mind, and truly ascend to new heights in awareness as they explore Creation itself. Alas… even they knew not to focus everything in one place, and it is with that in mind that I offer you this. Whether you wish to place this in a mountain range or have it as a Warehouse attachment, this ancient site contains everything one needs to build an order. Rooms for monks to stay in, a great library to fill with many books, a courtyard to practice, an armory for magical items you may possess, and even a storage unit that supplies as much mundane food, water, and tea to sate those who follow the Mystic Arts. Even better, those who practice here will find their minds opening more quickly than usual, having an accelerated effect that will leave training half again as effective. …oh, and there’s a wifi router installed.

Eh, I guess. Nothing wrong with it but I do believe 6 is above average.

I wouldn't be as stupid to assume that Lavender would ever bother turning his own cyoa into a jump, firstly because of /cyoag/'s opinion of this community, and secondly because he really has no reason to give a fuck about some anon in a completely different community. If anything Lavender probably wants nothing to do with this place.

The anti-lewd anon refers to that idiot who was trying to stir shit up over at /twgg/ in the name of spreading the rules of /jc/ to other threads and making them known, before he decided that he needed to hound the jumpmaker until the jumpmaker was willing to quit the project altogether. It's pretty apparent that he's not against the idea of lewd and just decided to use the idea in order to shitpost, knowing that there's bound to be people who bite on it. Most of the people who actually understand the rules know well enough that your archivist can slap down a jump if he finds something wrong with it, and understand full well that there's no need to try and start shit on other threads. If this was kawata shoujo all over again, we'd all have a merry time watching this idiot go over to /vg/ and post the /jc/ rules all over the general there. It ain't about pro-lewd or anti-lewd, it's about idiots that decide thread shitposting is for the greater good of this community.

> Extra points for Mami and Saeko, both highly under utilized.
Really? I thought that a lot of Jumpers would have leapt at the chance to grab Saeko.

Mami, I could understand, since some Anons might find her way too high-maintenance in the Madoka Magica Jump.
>>
>>51790483
I don't think you'd ever have to worry about that happening, because Sandra hates the format that most jumps are made in. /cyoag/'s standard format in general does not mesh well with /jc/, and honestly, most of the folks over there don't take /cyoag/ as seriously as the folks over here do for /jc/. If anything, the shitstorm that would happen would probably end up being caused by folks over here rather than folks over there even if Sandra managed to work up motivation from his ass to take an already complete piece of work and reformat it entirely just to suit another community's whims.
>>

Alright, thinking on it... I'm gonna try something. Y'all let me know if this is retarded or not. If yes, be frank. If not, tell me if it's too cheap.

-HYDRA Construction Plans (200CP): Ever since the days of the Strategic Science Reserve and its fight with HYDRA, there has always been the need for locations that serve a multipurpose role. Ever since the subsequent dissolving of both organizations and unwittingly creating S.H.I.E.L.D. from the sum of both their parts, this has only become more obvious. So, what does this mean for you? It means the analysis and construction of high-end bases of operations. Perhaps that business corporation is actually dual-purposing as a training facility. Maybe that amusement park has an underground launch site. In short, you can analyze two properties of yours and with these plans, find ways to merge them together into one effective location that serves the functions of both… whether it is obvious or if the functions of one are hidden from the other. Of course it doesn’t only have to be two… but be wary; the more times you try to alter the same location the more time consuming and complex it will get.
>>
>>51790665
Look, I don't find Lycoris leaving to be anything great considering your community already has far less jumpmakers than it used to, but even I'm well aware of Lycoris' tendency to force herself into a corner and basically leave an hour for response - that hour generally resulting in nothing getting accomplished because she already had her mind made up. So yeah, history repeating itself through different causes isn't good, but it's already happened, and by all indication, Lycoris herself has moved on.

If anything, it's stupid to see that people don't even bother mentioning Lycoris until something like this comes up. It comes off as people not giving a shit about the jumpmaker until they're gone, then rather than respecting their decision to leave, they decide to use them as a platform for their own ends, knowing that the individual won't be able to say anything either way.

Drop in 400: Useful mundane object that helps boost your resistance to Mania and associated effects? Sort of an anti-sonic screwdriver, basically.

Lemurian 100: An anachronistic tool of analysis. Genius is a science, after all, and your traditional keepsake makes it ever that much more precise and quantifiable as a field of study.

Lemurian 200: Ownership of your own Bureau. Nothing like a state-wide mini-conspiracy at the senate level to keep your deeds under wraps.

Lemurian 400: Something dating back to the ancient Lemurian snakepeople civ, whether it was truly real, an alternate timeline or a bunch of baloney your personal worldview somehow created. Probably does something science really weird. Definitely snake-y.

Renaissance Man 100: Handy weapon you kitbashed one day out of SCIENCE! Like an acid gun, or a phaser powered by debate.

Renaissance Man 200: Unique Wonder, that can mass produce a specific model of Orphan. A particularly weak but obdedient model. I leave the specifics and fluff to you.

Renaissance Man 400: A comforting stack of diagrams, research materials, "control" "groups" and sundry components of SCIENCE! which a) make attempts to Do Science much more effective and b) make it easier to incorporate your paradigm with that of other Geniuses. And in a pinch, actual scientists.

>>
>>51790862

>>
>>51790790
It was a very, very long time ago when /cyoag/ could be considered normal, but in the state that they are nowadays (and even probably a year to two years back), /cyoag/ is more representative of what 4chan generals are on other boards - way more than any other board on /jc/. You go to generals on other boards, you'll see the same thing, what people call "real shitposting".

Most long time regulars that have thread presence in /cyoag/ have been affected to some extent. You literally can't stay on generals for hundreds of threads without it affecting your behavior somewhat. When everybody else is talking about shitposts and reposts, eventually you start to fall in line yourself. And while /cyoag/ does have content creators (the same really can't be said of many other generals on 4chan), at the end of the day, they don't pump out at a rate that could really deter the shitposting. Their format doesn't really help too much either, considering standalone cyoas generally mean you make a build, you get some enjoyment out of it for maybe a couple hours, a day or so, and then you move on. Eventually there's nothing to talk about except shitposting once you've ran out of cyoas you want to do - but you don't want to leave.

Well either that, or you lurk indefinitely. It's just the same thing that happens on generals elsewhere. SDA would fit in completely fine elsewhere as long as he knew what the thread and board memes were.

Sandra dropped a fanfic of one of his CYOAs, SD point of fact, and it included anal sex. So because of that and a few other things anal became associated with him. Add to that, he and AngelAnon have this ... thing. I don't know what to call it.

So you've got SDA churning out quality content, and bantering more and more as he updates his stuff. He was diplomatic at first, but after a while he just started having fun with it. So you've got that, plus his AngelAnon thing and it all just created a perfect storm that made Sandra.

It was interesting to watch.

We didn't really get Sandra until "relatively recently" though, and at first it was just him playing along with the shit that people tried to stir up with Angel and her IRL pics. Nowadays Sandra is just in it for the lulz more often than not, and we don't see Angel all that often anyways. If you're looking for hardcore content creators, I don't think there's really that many left aside from Highlander. Everyone else just found things to do and move on to.

Bah, if I wanted to fap I'd be on /aco/ instead of /tg/.

There's exceptions, though. Sometimes I'll bump into something that has a sweet story prompt instead of just being all about the lewd for the lewdness. Like the slave one, or Dominant. It's like-there's this plot which, strictly speaking, isn't lewdcentric. Which is cool. Because ultimately, lewd is kind of boring to me without any reason for it to be. Now see >>51790996 for example, that just feels contrived compared to any number of CYOAs that make you a demon who can do way, way cooler stuff.

Nothing wrong with babes of the bodacious variety, but lewd is but a condiment on the steak of CYOAs. Unless you're one of those disgusting plebians who just slathers barbeque sauce all over your steak, in which case you're already in a magical realm I'm not touching.

Honestly, it's not that bad on the rest of /tg/. There are plenty of small general boards and request boards where people have perfectly civil discussions, even on the oddest topics that would probably result in a shitfest if it happened in here. Sure, they don't burn through a thread a day like /jc/ does, but people go in moderately happy and they leave moderately happy.

Then outside of /tg/, most people don't take discussions anywhere as seriously as the people do here - it's why we've said in the past that the folks of /jc/ don't know what real shitposting is. Other boards tolerate shitposting to some extent because it very rarely targets individuals and explodes into drama shitfests, but here in /jc/ all of the shitposting seems to revolve around individuals. It's pretty stupid.

>Whenever someone bests you at some skill you will quickly grow to be their equal and more, learning from them as they perform. Whether you grow fast enough to best them is another question. This includes allies, and only applies to skill, not physical ability.

>Softcap – More practice means more results. Your skills and physical attributes (including your ability to cast spells) will never reach their apex. Not because they can't get better, but because they can always climb higher. Getting stronger may take a few million pushups, but if you got the time you can always seem to eek out a little more power. The only limit on your growth is how much time you can spend training. It should be noted that at the higher levels of power, it takes significantly more training to see even the slightest of results.

And now time for bullshit pym particles because fuck my life.

-Particle Storage Container (100CP) (Free: Pymtastic!): Bottling a particle… whoever thought of that? Well, Hank Pym did, because he had to get the particles around and safely handle it somehow. Now you have a supply of tiny glass bottles that happen to fit right in the palm of your hand, allowing you to store exotic particles in them for transport or safekeeping. Just don’t throw it. I really don’t recommend throwing it at people.

-Ant-Man Suit (100CP) (Free: Pymtastic!): In order for Pym Particles to be used effectively on a person, there must be a special suit in order to protect them. This is due to the potential altering of brain chemicals that could happen on an unprotected person, and for that you will need this. Coming with a special helmet, it contains both a radio-link to communicate with someone and an EMP communication device to stimulate the olfactory nerve center and pheromones of insect-sized organisms. …meaning you can talk to ants. The gloves/wrists and belt also contain what you need to monitor, regulate, and control the amount of particles used to control your shrinking and growing capability, as well as to make sure you don’t accidentally shrink into the Quantum Realm. For an additional undiscounted 100CP you also gain some of the Yellowjacket Suit’s components, allowing the suit to fly as well as containing energy pulse 'stingers' to further defend yourself.

>>51791373
-Symbiotic Home (600CP) (50% off: Pymtastic!): There are some homes which will do their most damned to ensure that there’s no creepy crawlies within their walls. Not this home. No, this home despite being very upscale and luxurious has a veritable army of ants living within it, and not just regular ants. Fire ants, army ants, bullet ants, the works. Whether you wish for it to be placed somewhere or be a Warehouse attachment, this place has just about every kind of mundane ant possible in it, and they all serve the owner of the home. Which would be you. Yes, they do their best to keep the place clean and move items around to ensure you’re comfortable and tended to… and trust me, they can do a lot when they work together. The basement is where they all live, like a small mine filled with nothing but ants where you can talk with them and collect any ants you need for a job… or introduce other ants to them. Just be careful to warn any guest that comes over.

What's the point of having a drive if you don't use it? This legit confuses me.

>>51791409
The smaller your community is, the harder it is for something like a community drive to gain traction, especially if the vast majority of jumps are already stored elsewhere.

The idea of the drive strictly being for storage is also lost on some folks from SB and QQ, because they see the drive as a sort of free advertisement. It isn't about whether the drive is easy to manage, or whether people are willing to make jumps to upload to the drive, but rather what already exists and what "works" in their minds. Basically, the purposes of their drives shift from just "storing jumps" to "handling jumps that won't be accepted for various reasons." This is something that affects SB more than QQ, but at the same time, QQ has far fewer jumpmakers than SB.

Talking to Lycoris, there's more than a couple of us who have drives of our own, but we use those largely for storing our own jumps. Sure, when you've made 30 - 40 jumps the drive can get fleshed out quite a bit, but at the end of the day generally these drives still exist solely for personal storage and maybe sharing with one or two friends. With QQ it's probably about the same case, except their jumpmakers aren't anywhere near as prolific as far as jumpmaking goes. Without a build up of jumps to put into their drive, there's also less incentive for others in their community to put jumps in their drive, so a chain effect propagates to some extent.

Same here. It's kind of the same problem I have with Strange and the second Iron Man-it feels they're in too much of a rush to set up the next Avengers, so the movies come across as prolonged trailer by advertising new supers as quickly as possible.

It just feels like a trend in the recent MCU movies, really. That, and those godawful gags. Malekith had the potential to be interesting, but no-let's get him to make a goofy face while sliding down a building guys.

I've given up on it, because you can't convince them of something that, in their perspective, has worked ever since they first started it.

It's easy to understand their mindset if it's put into a different perspective. A lot of the SB going individuals have several "requirements" as far as a community goes. They like a place where they can discuss things at their own pace, they like a place where they can grab new content and get updates without having to deal with other "baggage", and they like to have their work cut out for them as far as organization goes. If you look at it impartially, these are all pretty standard requirements that a "customer" would have.

The problem is that this community doesn't exactly work like a store, but the drive, in the mindset of some folks over there - is seen as exactly that. Yes, SB has a perfectly functional drive - yes, they have a number of jumpmakers who have produced jumps of evident quality. But from beginning to the end - they recognize that your drive is the one that's "valid", and that people are more likely to visit your drive rather than theirs, because this is where the "core" of jumpchain activity is. Hence, if their jumps make it to your drive, it's more likely that people will see them and use them, versus the SB drive.

And perhaps that's the thing, they're on SB, so a lot of these 4chan ideals are completely lost on them. They don't care about namefagging because they're on a forum where everybody has a name. They shill because they want people to jump what they've made - which is perfectly understandable from a creator's perspective. The most effective way is through your drive, not theirs.

But that's coming from an anon that's actually been here for a while, and only went over to SB a while back. For the folks that have been in SB for a while, there's no denying that this current set up works exceedingly well for them. If they want to get a jump approved on this drive, they post it here once for responses and criticism, and eventually it finds its way onto the drive. As I'm sure you're aware, plenty of folks on SB perform the due diligence to go through and actually respond to criticism. Yes, there are some that don't, and they may have a tendency to include things that would break unspoken "agreements" as far as jumpmaking goes.

But because they're from SB they don't understand these agreements, and a lot of them might come off as senseless. Very few people on SB would understand that the source of no potatoes originated back in magical realm cyoa days. Very few people could really bring up shit like rapestate or some other blatant loopholes. And the fact of the matter is that them not knowing has never hurt them any. Yeah they might get screamed at once or twice if they mess up, but they can fix it, and if a shitstorm hits, they can leave and still have a place to go back to.

Because of this, you can't get them to change unless they hit an epiphany on their own accord and fall in line with this community. But that's never going to happen either, because they don't want to become this community. In the meantime, just as jumpmakers make their jumps public, the drive itself remains public, so it's not like you can magically rescind their access to the drive.

Nah. I think he's talking about Celestial Bliss Trick, which is a Sidereal Resplendency.

Celestial Bliss Trick, one Endurance per performance: With this simple trick, the Sidereal may bring about total sexual ecstasy in her target in just three minutes (or three long ticks). This requires physical contact but works on either gender. Once she fi nishes, her target immediately develops an Intimacy phrased to put him under the Sidereal’s sway. This is a Servitude effect

-Hellfire Chain (100CP) (Free: Spirit of Vengeance): The fires of the damned are a powerful force, as those who have been burned by it can testify. But fire is often uncontrolled, wild, and untamed as a force. That is why it needs guidance, to be chained and directed. Sometimes literally, as this tempered metal chain will show. When those of a fiery or infernal nature hold this chain, they can channel their fiery abilities through it to augment their strikes and the force that hits their enemies. Let the motherfucker burn!

-Hell Charger (100CP) (Free: Spirit of Vengeance): Why should you have to walk or run everywhere you need to get? Worse, why deal with the pains of public transportation? With this 1969 Dodge Charger, you’ll be able to ride in STYLE. Even better, its composition allows you to channel fire of any sort into this vehicle and make it quite durable, enough that it could smash through other vehicles head-on and suffer no issue… so long as the one driving it has the sufficient firepower for it. Get it? Firepower? …come on, work with me. Anyway, for an undiscounted 100CP you may instead have this property manifest onto any one vehicle you happen to possess, but why would you give up the classic appearance?

-Prison of Hell (600CP) (50% off: Spirit of Vengeance): There is a place beyond this world. A place without light, or warmth, or hope. It is a place that feeds upon any living thing that approaches it, that even a mighty Spirit of Vengeance would never wish to roam that eternal darkness. Yet, now you have found yourself with a piece of it, for power has its price. When enemies have been slain personally by you with fiery or infernal might, you may choose to have some part of them sucked into this place to be tormented and left in pain. It is this pain that will fuel you, granting a very small amount of energy to fuel those powers. While you can never remove anyone from this place, it is always hungry for more… and the greater the pain, the more it shall help you. After all, if there’s no pain then there’s no gain.

(Artifact ••••)
As the Unconquered Sun and the other Incarnae
deliberated over their plans to rebel against the Primordials,
the Maiden of Battles suggested that their
ally Autochthon would be of great aid, but would
ultimately be insufficient to assure the survival of
Creation. Luna suggested that perhaps she could
seduce Gaia. Taking the form of a bare-chested young
man clad in tight moonsilver breeches, the moon
god succeeded in exactly that. It is said that his sole
apparel was woven from ambrosia and threads of
Serenity. The primary power of this mighty artifact
is to enhance the lower body and its assorted appendages,
making them impressive even to architects of
Creation. The price for such power is a seven mote
attunement cost.

So I've been running a chain based off of the infinity genre (terror infinity and the like) and thought I'd share the rules here. Feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Start with 3000 CP
No buying a Warehouse or bodymod
No access to warehouse mid-jump (warehouse add-ons and buildings that follow between jumps are decided case by case but if I want to access the allowed ones mid-jump then they cost double)
Spend a month inbetween jumps in the warehouse
Start a jump with everything I'm wearing and holding on to at the end of the month
Can access the CP shop of any jump inbetween jumps
Can't buy companioms unless on that particular world (get charged once I meet them and they trust me enough)
Can only be a drop-in or its equivalent
First 600 CP from a jump's catalog is discounted (to make up for the lack of backgrounds)
Background restricted content costs the price of the background to unlock on top of its normal price.
Drawbacks don't grant CP and they last until cured (half of its cp cost/powerful items) or I fix them myself. They can be removed mid-jump, though.
Scenarios are allowed.

Usually I don't know a jump well enough to do a huge amount of writing, but I usually do have a list of plot points, and sometimes write out some of the more pivotal scenes like:
The point where I'm revealed to be a jumper.
Expository conversations.
The point where I meet the protags.
The point where I save the day, or not.
Points in the timeline I specifically change from canon.
etc.

Jump when?
>>
>>51793090
Unless you're writing under a deadline or working as a ghostwriter or something, generally several thousand words a week is easily possible. Consider that for something as relaxed as nanowrimo, it's generally recommended that aside from having a plot and structure laid out before you start, you should generally be hitting a pace of 2k words/day. (The former recommendation ties in with the latter naturally)

It's just that generally people burn out before the month ends or before the story ends. Getting to 50k within a month generally isn't a problem - but the ones that blow through it quickly often talk about issues with concluding what they started, whereas other people generally tend to bring up loss of motivation and whatnot. But honestly if you read a lot and practice writing, 2k a week is easy.
>>
>>51793052

I just realized, most jumps are between 8k and 30k words in each jump.

So… if the last world was a legitimate sword and sorcery world, this one is just Jumpchan mocking me. There are swords and magical creatures but everyone acts like an idiot and talks like an idiot. Even the tone of their voice is idiotic.

I guess I have thrown in with a bunch of slaves looking for freedom. I think there was supposed to be some great flight from captivity but I just exploded a huge section of land in front of the army and they gave up.

Good to see they at least have the concept of self-preservation in this world. I am glad I didn’t have to kill all of them or something. Of course the Metometus people seem to be a bit afraid of me now but. If it gets this drudgery done faster I am all for it.
>>
>>51793052
>Fated Foe
God, this is so fucking retarded. Is there a reason for the unnecessary edge and idiotic "fighting style that counters all ooc powers" instead of just a standard scaling foe? It's not "imaginative", it just comes across as wanking a fairly unimpressive setting to omnipotence. And why do they have to kill your companions? They're by fiat forced to be a villain? Why can't they be a heroic counterpart?
>>
>>51793186

What's wrong with it still?
>>
>>51793220
>most jumps are between 8k and 30k words in each jump.
Really?
>>
>>51793237

Okay I'll admit I hadn't considered them being a good guy.
But as for countering ooc powers that really isn't that far past Musou Tensei's bullshit.
>>
>>51793220
Yup, once you get into the practice of writing them, you can sort of guesstimate how words are in a jump just by looking it over, but that's really just for pointless trivia. I end up averaging 24k myself for my jumps. Ultimately when you're practicing English through writing, the word count comes into play mostly for gauging length and structure, but it's one of the elements of writing that's easier to forget and overlook in favor of other parts. Personally writing a jump isn't that much different for me than writing a technical report or a novel, the same backbone needs to be present regardless, even if the style is different.
>>
>>51793270
Really? So, if I podded Beerus, this dude in some podunk setting could casually murder him because of his "incredible fighting style"? Or worse yet, one of several capital-G Gods? I don't see what the problem is with making it a normal scaling enemy. Also, scaling to companions is even worse than scaling to the jumper. It's not hard to get much better companions.
>>
>>51793052
So what's the deal with the increased origin prices? Two of the origins offer styles that can stalemate and defeat or are the Super Martial Arts in the setting and are free. One of them doesn't and it's 200 CP more. So what's up with that?
>>
>>51793402

You know what, if you bring Beerus or a legit God to Fist of the North Star and still feel you need the extra 300CP from this drawback, well I feel perfectly content having your Fated Foe be able to take them out one on one
>>
>>51793052
Hey, um. Just gonna throw my two cents here.

I'm pretty sure anons are just going to keep moving the goalposts or complaining about what other anons asked to have changed later, at this point. There's always going to be SOMETHING to bitch about.

You shouldn't try to address every single complaint, especially one you made the opposite stance for and was asked to change it already. It's just going to drive you insane.
>>
>>51793052
Maybe you should hand this over to the other guy.
Hate to be the dick to suggest this, but this looks generic as hell.
>>
>>51793052
When people complain about scaling drawbacks being too hard because they scale it's generally just shitposting.
>>
>>51793446
And that would be entirely fine if the fluff wasn't so ludicrous.
>>
>>51793515
Scaling drawbacks are usually bad design at least when you actually have to fight the thing it conjures up.
Turning a jump into a coinflip is just a bad idea all around regardless of how many points it offers.
>>
>>51793483
I don't know. Personally it's not that it comes off as generic to me, it's just that it's shallow, perhaps because the jump covers over a large breadth of material while only skimming over the surface history of the series, or perhaps it's just a matter of the author's stylistic preferences. It has a lot of things which does make it unique due to the franchise being "moderately unique", but a lot of the descriptions that would otherwise bring out the qualities of the setting just aren't there. Perhaps the author is looking to keep it intentionally vague to create an atmosphere that pulls the reader to do their own research and engage with the series, or perhaps this wasn't necessarily intentional - but either way it doesn't seem to be terrible in that regard.

Admittedly, there's still Fists of the Blue Sky that could easily be turned into a jump, though I guess people don't associate with it as much because they don't see the iconic Kenshiro there. Maybe a Hokuto Musou jump lol?
>>
>>51793439

Nanto Seiken and its variants are the other Super Martial Art besides Hokuto styles but since there is never any mention of something like Musou Tensei for it being a Nanto practitioner is cheaper than a Hokuto practitioner

>>51793483

He kept fucking with the balance and attributes of the various sword based off of whichever sword the thread was waifuing at the moment. There were a bunch of iterations of the jump made, and most of them have to do with him tweaking the 'dachis for his lulz.

Also, none of it was his idea his "friend made him do it."

>>51793750
Sure. His "friend."
>>
>>51793750
He was right, though. I think it would've been better off with just Tsundachi as a gimmick and the added swords as more serious stuff. I liked the dragon sword, the concept behind it is pretty cool.
>>
>>51793446
Not him, but I kind of agree. It turns the whole jump into a parody if you insist on going with some "super fighting style". Just make it a more conventional type of scaling, otherwise...

>This guy, bigger than the universe, no pressure points to speak of, yet he's killed. How?
>WEABOO FIGHTAN MAGIC.
>Another, doesn't die of anything. Can heal from literally nothing. How is he killed?
>WEABOO FIGHTAN MAGIC.
>Someone else can move FTL. How are they killed?
>WEABOO FIGHTAN MAGIC.

Yet apparently this is some random guy that no one else in the setting has heard of, and he practices a "fighting style" that supposedly anyone in his world can learn. And he's a reality warper, too, I guess. For that matter, what's stopping you from learning his "fighting style" that can counter even omnipotence?
>>
>>51793750
>>51793807
Adding a conceptual "always wins" sword was retarded, a gimmick, and included purely for his own chuckles. There's nothing like that in the canon, and its just pure fuckery.

Well, I disagree on it all being fuckery. The trees are good representatives of the various characters they're meant to represent. The drawbacks, save the Yandachi drawback, all make sense based off of the canon.

It's just the items section that is OC, and you're right in that its decent OC. Its just that damn kamidachi. A section that allowed you to build your own "cheat" item would have been a good inclusion.

His fighting style is what is keeping you from copying it, if you have techniques to copy people then of course he has techniques to counter that.
If you don't like the drawback then don't take it, or hell just fucking shoot him with your super-GBE or use your infinity +one million sword on him.
The guy matches techniques and inherent abilities not any equipment you might have.
This is in the notes already.

Do we have freezers in the future?

How much you wanna bet that Red had a hand in including it?

>actually takes a look at the drawback in the pdf.
Huh. The drawback just says skills, not powers. If you or a companion can blow up the planet through sheer firepower, your foe having your fighting skills ain't going to help your foe much.
>>
>>51794009
Red would have a fucking aneurism if someone asked to put something like kamidatchi in one of her jumps.
It's literally the exact opposite of what she does.

I get that you're testing out your bait potential, but it helps to know what you're talking about first.
>>
>>51793994
Your mother, while possessing a preponderance of MILFy plushiness, isn't as flexible as she used to be and your sister won't be home from college for another month. Think you could talk your sister into coming home for the weekend? I need a release, and I'll even let you sit in the corner and fap.
>>
>>51794020

That works too.
Seriously he isn't meant to be infinitely scaling, just an un-godly skilled fighter.
>>
>>51793996
Are there perks for smashing weapons into one and still have them keep Thier powers?
>>
>>51790612
Saeko is very companionable but some might not bring her up or avoid her given she forms a relationship in canon in addition to her sadism issues.
>>
>>51794020
Uh, not him, but no?

> If you try to run and hide for the whole ten years they will kidnap and kill your companions until you come to them. If that doesn't work they will somehow find you on your last day in this world and set an inescapable trap for you.

>For the purpose of understanding what they can do treat them as if they have a version of Self Taught Style that works on magic and out of setting powers as well as martial arts.

They can literally do anything because their fighting style is just that bullshit. Not that it's particularly a problem. Just don't take the drawback.
>>
>>51793052
>>51793515
Honestly, all drawbacks in the jump are pretty shit.
>>
>>51794075
I'd have picked her up if there was a companion option in that jump. I don't have pods, so that was what was keeping me from giving her a ride.

Then give some recommendations instead of just bitching
Funny all these complaints are coming now that I've released a complete version instead of during the past twenty hours or so that I've been posting WIPs

Hm, speaking of original Dragon Ball... Do we have a way to learn Tenshinhan's techniques without having to pester him about it?

Stuff like the Four Witches Technique, Multi-Form, and Dodon Ray are just really cool.

...Wait, according to the wiki, the Four Witches and Multi-Form are racial abilities of his three-eyed people. Huh. I always thought he just had a bunch of really weird techniques.

Are those available under the Earthling option?
>>
>>51794141
That's how this works. Very few people read shit until it's done.
Why waste time with something that could get scrapped at any moment?
>>

Add sexy monkey waifus.
>>
>>51794141
Recommendations have already been given. Just say that the foe is able to match your power and ability instead of giving him infinite weaboo fightan magic.
>>

He already did that jimbo.

Not via perks, but you could probably learn them via training with him. And yeah, three-eyed human can totally be under Earthling.
>>51794007
I will probably be adding Freiza Clan and Demons in the next update, with the caveat you're not immediately at the 'mutant' power of Freiza. Androids are covered by a perk already, Cell and Buu are currently one-of-a-kind, and I still am not sure what to do about Xenoverse/Online.

I'll be asking about the pre-Super things a bit later.

>Self Taught Style
>what decides the match won't be who has the more impressive technique, but who is tougher, stronger, faster, and just plain physically better

So... what I'm reading is, just brutally beat the fucking shit out of them with no regard to skill or subtlety?
>>
>>51794174

Why exactly are you so hung up on him matching you through absurd Martial Arts instead of raw power and magic powers that don't even seem to exist in setting?
I mean, you do realize that making him a normal scaling enemy is even m ore ridiculous than what it is now, right?
>>
>>51794212

Yeah pretty much. That or use tools to leverage the fight in your favor.

In one chain, yes. Now if I go all in on swords I leave out Himedachi since she was never filded

While not exactly an aneurysm, >>51794034 is correct that such things are literally the exact opposite of my normal gig. While I indulged people with the Olympian Subject in Resident Evil, I'm not sure why the person who has literally no interest in waifuing would demand waifu swords.

Then again, to some people I don't even have to be here to apparently influence jumps and ruin lives forever, so what do I know?

Final WIP post of Arpeggio of Blue Steel v2.
>>
>>51794225
Because either "out-of-setting powers" includes better strength, speed, toughness, etc. (and it does, by virtue of him being able to kill, kidnap, and even reach all of your companions) which is completely irrelevant, because what matters is how the drawback works not what it does. And if it doesn't include those things, then it's basically free points. My problem is stating that he can do this through a martial arts style of all things, not that he does it.
>>
>>51794260
Himedachi is awesome though. She's basically Kyoka Suigetsu except better because after 20 minutes she can just kill your ass dead no matter how fast or tough you are.

>>51794309
Did you even talk to SGM? I don't think he was ever on the IRC.
>>
>>51794370
Man, the only thing I know about him is that he made the hero BBS jump. That is the literal extent of my knowledge and experience with him. If he's shown up on IRC then it's when I've been off of there or it's under a name I wouldn't know.
