The only thing I could think of is maybe finding the 20 points to slap Perdus Rift Anomaly on your raptor. Re-rolling to seize, and forcing your opponent's successful seize rolls is really good.

no, it works the same way that having two of any other save would work (even though FNP isn't a save). for example, if you have an iron halo on a captain who also has terminator armor you're not rolling a 4++ and a 5++ (or an storm shield and terminator for a more common example).

the only exceptions are rules that say their either give you a specific FNP value OR add +1 to the FNP if they already have one, like Iron Hands and their various detachment and warlord trait bonuses.

RAW it's actually possible to get a 1+ FNP on an IH character that can't fail because while saves always fail FNP isn't a save... but literally no one will play it that way and every tournament FAQ mandates that FNP fails on a 1, so don't even think about it

Pretty much the only reason I was ever able to kill any of his shit was because of Dragonfire Bolts. I'd shill HoR here, but you'd have to convince people to play with a community's homebrewed ruleset.

Still, HoR CSM Caps at 20 Core models, 30 if you take a Cultist Leader, and only has 3 Special slots plus Leader. Horde units in HoR are pushed into 5-man Squads, so they suffer Morale tests from casualties, have to stay in unit coherency, and can be whittled down by targeting the squad and assigning wounds, and models take pinning tests when their adjacent buddies are killed. Also, if half the models on your team are killed, you're forced into a Rout test every turn or lose the game. With that, you'd more than likely have won on your kills alone.

But, again, this is shilling for a different system a lot of people may not want to take the effort in investing in.

When I first got into 40K (but before I bought anything) I stopped by my LGS and watched a few games and everyone was super friendly and answered any questions I had.

After I bought my first set I started coming in and playing learning games with people and everyone was super friendly and gave me solid tips and pointers on the units in my army and my playstyle. A couple guys offer to bring extra minis I can play with while I'm there until I get a decent sized army together, one guy gives me a small squad of minis from my army to help me beef up my ranks.

Fast forward to now and whenever I go to my LGS everyone is always in a good mood and we play tons of team games and the default game is friendly but you can always ask for a waacfag tier game and get one if you want to test yourself or try out something new or work on your tournament army.

Aside from that, if you're into doing far more work than is necessary, you could do what I'm doing and convert a model from a bunch of shit together to make a proxy. It's hard work and you'll need to find things that work for what you need, though.

Yes, I spent about 5 hours painting her today. Armour is done with

Cape is done with 2 thin coats of Mephiston Red, followed by a coat of Mephiston Red that has been thinned down using Gloss Nuln Oil, so as to give it a distinctive shiny appearance. Cape Highlights are the same as the Gloss Layer, but with a little wild-rider red mixed in. There wasn't much to highlight, just two large creases.

Drop Red Paint Job on the two Trukks, drop Zagstruk (can't see why you'd want him, he's pretty awful), get a Painboy on Warbike with the saved points, and combine two of the bike squads into 1 deathstar with Zhad and the Painboy in it. Bikerboys with Zhad get a 2+ cover save when they Jink and the Painboy will give them a hefty boost of survivability. It does make you horribly vulnerable to Ignore Cover, but that's the same for the whole list.

I didn't get my first riptide until after I hit 1500 points. I don't run it under 1000 point games either unless my opponent is a cunt (I have a wk spammer and a knight spammer at my store, then they get both a riptide and flyer spam out the ass), just doesn't seem fair.
