I'd also say multimeltas. Attack bikes aren't terrible in close combat (2 wounds!) so they don't need to be afraid of getting up close. Jetbikes do.

I think you’re allowed to start Terminators on the board since the RoW gives them Deep Strike (you don’t have to use it, but you can’t take units that don’t have it). You could do that if you’re taking a lot of Grave Wardens, but Deathshrouds should be in a Dreadclaw or Kharbydis. So should chainfist Terminators on anti-tank duty.

You want to take an odd number of pods so you get a little more than half of them on turn 1. Flamers more sense in Orbital Assault armies. Plasma support squads are a common anti-heavy-infantry choice. Contemptor-Cortus dreads are great. A Kharbydis or two can actually be worth it, and might be able to handle your anti-air needs, though there’s nothing wrong with bringing aircraft.

I play sistas (40k) and space woofs (30k). Eldar have a marginal fucking advantage for even being on the field. Couple that with sisters being underpowered, wraith units, jetbikes, and you are given a whole lotta loss potential on your side.

He seriously outnumbered the traitors (or so he thought) and had them on the run, it only seems logical to finish them off and (hopefully) finish the war in one fell swoop. And his fighting Fulgrim had the same logic, if he (one of the toughest/strongest/smartest/all-around good Primarchs) could fairly easily kill Fulgrim or turn him back to good, then that's a serious blow to the traitors. I mean at the last I would have switched the Raven Guard out for the Iron Warriors cos frontal assaults made Corax salty, and asked Alpharius to do some sort of sabotage.

When the traitors landed in the second wave the Raven Guard and Salamanders were pulling back because of the casualties they had taken. The Istvaan assault was headlong and not thought out well, that was the point, Ferrus was incensed at Fulgrims betrayal and he made rash decisions.

Anyway, speaking of NL, I posted this in the last thread saying I didn't know if I wanted to make it 30k or 40k. It's possible that I could do both, I suppose, but I don't actually have anyone to play with regardless.

I'm honestly not sure how to build what I have, which is both HH boxes and a pair of drop pods that I got 40% off. I figure I either use the pods or I don't, but the price was too good to pass up. I also would rather buy as little FW as possible because it's just too much money. Rhinos, pods, press, w/e that's fine. I can order that through my LGS for a 10-25% discount, but I can't justify FW right now, especially when I have so much to assemble as it is.

I honestly don't know how I should build this army. I like the idea of NL using drop pods and the fact that my terminators can teleport, but I don't know how best to incorporate that into a list that I can build towards. I'm kinda leaning towards a Pride of the Legion maybe? ObSec termie troops that can teleport seem pretty good, and I should have enough weapons to make some vet squads on top of that. Maybe, I can throw that Contemptor in a pod, too.

Any advice?

As a NL player, the Terror Assault is great fun to play and to play against, but at the same time its fairly weak. Do you want to be fluffy or WAACky? I run either Terror Assault with a pod leviathan and a Knight Errant the robot not the weirdass custom HQ, or Primarch's chosen with a massive blob of Ass Marines, Batman, a medic, a jet, the Pod Leviathan and three units of teleporting termies to grab late-game objectives. Neither are super good but both are fun. NL have shit rites, mediocre characters and fairly good LA rules.

Running five lots of ten sniper vets in rhinos, two units of five terminators teleporting in with combiweapons and a kitted HQ somewhere does bring you to about 2k. This is a hobby where its best to spend money to get shiny new toys though, and playing such a list forever would probably kill your enthusiasm pretty quick.

Cant say I've tried it myself, but some Reductor artillery would help if you're going full cheese Ironfire. An extra 3 medusae that do trigger the counter placement, although it's disputed if they can then benefit from those. Cyber-occularis would be excellent, and the mandatory Thallax are not really bad at anything. Grab an extra Lightning if you want to, or some Myrmidons instead of the arty if you want to smush Primarchs like cartoon clay.

One of the best HQ options in the game, the versatility is fucking great

techthralls which by the way can be made really cheap from neophytes and skit. same with servitors neophytes and katapron bits work really well and if you are tratior you get a more... gigerian (if that is even a word) feel to your stuff.
my Lacryaemarta is a kit bash of the neophytes and skit. and hte mining laser and the other heavy weapon can ber cut together to make a conversion beamer pretty easily.
depending on your list, they can be a pretty effective stop gap, with some fucking cheap objective warmers. Cheap support weapon squads (65 points for flamers + magos and a bit more for the conveyer is sweet, arguably not as cost effective as a ss in a rhino but hey.)
I think it boils down to, you have cheaper heavy weapons (see havocs, most of their units being expensive as fuck,etc) they have cheaper stop gabs and better artillery while your conventional tanks are better.
and they have the best MCs in the game.
I'm getting some iron man fist bots and some vorax sometime in the near future

That might actually be cool as fuck, give him ArchMagos stats and swap out Curse of the Omnissiah for a Haywire weapon with something like:

Subversive Engrams: If Calleb Decima wrecks (Not explodes) an enemy vehicle in close combat, control of the vehicle is instead transferred to Decima's controlling player until the end of Decima's player's next turn (Not the one in which the vehicle was YOINKsed, the next one), at which point it is automatically wrecked. If this vehicle is destroyed in any way, treat it as if it belonged to the opposing player (So he can't lose points for doing that to a LoW, or something).

Obviously needs work on the wording, but it might be fun. Might also need some form of mobility boost, but it would need testing (and probably a nerf, knowing my homebrew skills).

Makes him less of a one-shot deal, anyway.

Just read it, Blackshield is mostly Morturg and an ex-Deathshroud who wants to kill Mortarion for witchery. He ALMOST joins them, but Morturg has to stop himself getting shot and the DS kills himself trying to murder the witch.

Decima shows up briefly at the end, nothing really important. Morturg's new body would probably make Scoria jealous, though.

The inception of Obliterators themselves might have been conceived and initially brought into being during late stage Heresy, but I doubt Obliterators ever transcended the "Nazi superweapon" phase of battlefield rarity until the Traitors went into the Eye and they more or less mutated themselves into monsters.
