Help me decide between Crimson Fists and Deathwatch? I really love how much you can customize DW marines, but a smaller more elite force doesn't seem to give me that grand battle sort of feeling that a marine chapter would. I also like a lot of the SM vehicle choices, and I don't know if I could paint up and run predators and stormtalons in DW colors. But I guess the battle brothers option is always there?

Admech army is not the same as Skitarii.
Skitarii is generally part of an AdMech army, unless you're a madman and only want to field Cult Mech.

Really, taking only Skitarii or only CultMech is going to be difficult, since they both have so few unit choices.
Combined they're not worthless, especially if taken as the War Convocation. This borderlines cheese, but isn't too bad after the FAQ clarified the starting in allied transports rule.

Gitz are notoriously horrible. They are so fragile that they absolutely demand a transport, which then has to stay a glorified pillbox to keep them accurate. Destroy the tank and a quarter of the Gitz will die.

APD6 looks awesome until you realize that you roll *after* choosing your target, so go fuck yourself if you roll that '2' after targetting the tarpit.

If they are supposed to be an armour solution, just let them be good at their job. Give them variable ammo types where AP2 features, give them APD3, or just give them Rending.

What I'm curious about is what the codex says about how to proceed if a Primarch returns and what happens to the current Chapter Master. Will he be demoted, will he keep his position and just be second in rank or is it possibly a loophole and the Chapter Master has direct command over the entire Chapter and all its Marines, including the Primarch.

For Reference, Space Marines get Sternguard Veterans for 22 points per model, same cost as Flash Gitz.

Sternguard Veterans have LD9, 2A, and 3+ Armour, with BS4. They can ALL take combi-weapons, and their basic bolters can do things like get Poisoned 2+, AP3, Ap4 with extra range, and Ignores Cover. They also have an Army-wide special rule called Chapter Tactics.

And Chapter Tactics has only good things it can do. Like Imperial Fists gives them Rerolls to Hit with their BS4 special ammo bolters. Your army-wide special rule for orks is a straight downgrade, since your guys straight up kill themselves whenever they lose 25% of the squad. ONLY ORKS AND TYRANIDS HAVE AN ARMY-WIDE SPECIAL RULE THAT IS ONLY A DETRIMENT.

Your Flash Gitz are also 22 points per model. Compared to sternguard vets they get -3 to their armour saves, -2 to their ballistic skill, -1 to their weapon skill, -1 to their strength, -2 to their initiative, and -2 to their leadership, with the caveat that if they fail a leadership check they take d6 wounds... On their 6+ armour save.. Which can and absolutely will wipe the entire remaining squad.

Wrong.
The Codex did away with legions and appointed each Primarch as a Chapter Master of a 1000 marine chapter, which they felt like they were giving away 90%+ of their troops, but it's not like they couldn't go visit them each weekend, and they themselves feel as if they were playing that Primarch's chosen 30k Rite of War.

The biggest problem with Mob Rule is that it straight up doesn't work outside of melee. And combat with orks tends to go only one of 2 ways. Either your unit gets wiped out entirely because your I2 ass tried to charge/get charged by a squad of melee specialists. Or your unit charged a squad that isn't melee specialists, lost half of it's dudes because lel 6+ armour and I2 versus overwatch and i3+ melee, and then proceeded to wipe said unit with shitloads of dice, only to die the very next round to pieplates or copious amount of guns.

It gets even better if you try to disorganized charge a bunch of people, and now your orks are Strength 3, and get wiped in melee by guardsmen. And the guard sergeant with 2a and pistol+chainsword killed your squad sergeant, so now BREAKIN 'EADS doesn't apply anymore so you get sweeped off the table.

This is honestly what bothers me the most. SoB are fine having long, feminine hair because they wear no helmets in their regular armor. Space Marines do. They should have short trimmed hair or no hair, like all male Marines, since there is no reason to have stylish hair or convey any special look with their hair.
The only male Marines with long her are all never wearing helmets either because it'd be stupid.

I've found success with a well placed WWP Balasterborn + Archon Blaster either on foot or in a raider.

Archon with Incubi is also pretty neato, but Drazhar is also a really good choice if you want a melee deathstar, and is only a little more than a fully kitted melee archon. Still suffers from a lack of grenades.

Either way, WWP or a transport is up to you and depends on the rest of your list.

It's kind of a running joke in the whole series that elves love to insult people without them realizing it. There is a bit of a lack of more mortal traitors and heretic named characters, although one could make the argument that any sort of cultist who managed to be that badass would probably earn themselves power armor and enough godly blessings to be equal to a space marine anyway.

That's the fluff I basically used for some of the Warpsmith in my force, though more mechanical upgrades to equal a marine rather than just chaos boons.

Sup /tg/. I'm bringing this to the geedubs this weekend to try out the new Castellans detachment, as well as some Rough Riders. I'm using Raptors Tactics, so all of the scouts are pretty damn deadly.

My idea is to use FATMAN, MURDERWINGS, and the Honour Guard land raider w/ Librarian in order to serve as a huge distraction, while my Rough Riders lead a GLORIOUS CAVALRY CHARGE INTO THE ENEMY LINES.

Fatman will obviously take out the biggest target on the table, and my scouts are there to shred elite targets. The shotgun dudees outflank with their Land Speeder.

All instances of Guard regiments being in the spotlight that I remember had regular mentions of both genders, in both guardsman positions as well as positions inside HQ and the likes.

Inquisition also has plenty of male and female Inquisitors and it's really not possible to say one is more common than the other with them as well,

If it isn't 50/50, it's probably 60/40 or somewhere close.

Pretty much the only thing women can't be is space marines, but the reasoning for that actually makes sense in context, and has nothing to do with gender roles. Space Marines are genetically modified to be clones of their primarch, who is by extension a modified clone of the emperor.. who was a dude. You can't be a clone of a dude if you're a woman.
