Works fine on their tanks. Besides, it only affects the big suits anyway, since the small ones are IDed regardless. D3 wounds on a 6 and strikedown helps simulate the vehicle damage table fairly well.

Is this a decent starting list? Also, are Forgefiends any good? I really like their models, but fielding a minimum of 3 of them, plus a Warpsmith, in that formation gets expensive real fast.

Which was part of the other changes, increasing the cost.

The reason to remove squadrons was less because squadrons were OP and more because if you do go full Triptide, it should at least be eating up all your elite spots to so its. That's also the reason removal of formations


Three riptide armies would still exist, but they wouldn't get + 1 BS, and they'd be half your points instead of a third.

Anon, Haywire does work more on every Admech robot that isn't the 40k Kastelans, because they don't have the same rules. In 30k, robots take two wounds from Haywire weapons on a 6 but Poison and Fleshbane reroll sucessful wounds, at the cost of having to stay in something similar to Synapse, where otherwise they have to shoot and charge the nearest enemy. It's just the 40k ones that are way less normal, and hopefully they'll be phased out with IA14 (expensive though).

Tossing a Taser Goad or Arc Maul on one of them is never really a bad idea. Occasionally you'll get in a situation where some S5 tazer or AP4 could really help, like last game where both my Skitarii squads got jumped by GSC hybrids instantly.

Also, my ally (Who is a bit of a dick, as well as rich as hell, so he's rather insufferable, but it was a 2v2 Admech vs Nids/GSC) had Cawl on the field, so I got to see him do stuff. Not much of it, but he fried a Chimera and two Sentinels, and the buffs didn't have time to work since we had to call it before the end of T3.

IWND canticle is quite lackluster, as a whole since there wasn't much injured stuff that wasn't killed instantly.
4++ Invuln was good, but not gamebreaking really since we weren't in WarConvos, so the Skitarii didn't get it.

BS canticle is the real money. Tore through pretty much everything with the Kastelans and Breachers that turn, and my Destroyers put down the Swarmlord easily. I need to get that guy.

Actually on that note, I quite like the idea of Peltasts too, because holy shit those shields look awesome. I'd have to capitalize on 20 of them, though, for maximum effectiveness. Which makes them quite a lot of points. I think its like 250 points without upgrades. Though I don't think I'd even give them upgrades really.

Also the writers in the WD say that it would be boring if Abaddon just blew Cadia apart from orbit or just bypassed it after breaching the Gate. They wrote the story in a way that made Abaddon personally fight there for the epic finish that would please the fans.

Hoplites make for nice short range tank rapers. There isn't a vehicle that can survive a turn of shooting from even a half squad of them. Getting them there is the problem, even with their physical and energy shields.

Peltasts ARE strong, but unless you're fighting Orks or Nids, they are about on par with the strong stuff that other armies can field.

Question? Is there any cool fluff that has the Admech fighting as they should, with noospheric buffs and perfected targeting with all the gunlines and stuff? I read the Forge of Mars books, but that doesn't have too many pitched battles. Also, the fucking CARTOGRAPHER can melt servitors and seriously injure fleshlings and other Magi with binharic attack. In the Admech, even the mapmakers are hardcore.

Actually. plenty of cadians converted to Chaos. 2 Cadian regiments that fled one of the battles acknowledged that if they weren't lucky in where they retreated they would have ended up being on the other side of the war.

Basic Russ doesn't really do anything quite well enough, honestly. Maybe an Eradicator/whichever one has the AP4 S6 Ignore Cover blast? Seems like it would do some decent work.
