Dragon DM here with a public service announcement.

RoTJR and Dragon game recruiting ends next week. 15th and 18th respectively.

Make sure you have your application in and spell checked before then.

Remember, lewd can help a character be more interesting, however lewd is just icing, not the cake itself. Don't confuse the two.

I love you all!

About 50% is usually too much. However that number can fluctuate between different DMs and campaigns.

Dragon DM! Dragon DM! I saw you changed Culdranth's appearance to something more motherly, why not keep her old pic and use it for Culdranth's court sorceress? Could go all sorts of funny and extremely lewd routes with the hyper-voluptuous magical attendant to an absurdly magical being!

What's up you meme loving fucks, is there any reason to take 25 PB over 32 PB? That +7 to scores seems like it won't utterly ruin campaigns while giving MAD characters even more opportunities to pad out their attributes.
>>
>>51107326
Disciplines allow for more than just "damage", anon, not everyone is looking for just bigger numbers.
>>
>>51107924
No.
It allows players not have to specialize in doing X at the expense of the rest of the alphabet.

And it's shit. Auto fatigue for a minute? Seriously? and it's a standard action? This is out of combat healing and a feat is way more expnsive than a CLW wand.
Vim and Vigor is a feat tax, with another feat tax as prerequisite, Fortuitous Vigor makes it almost okay for a crit fisher, Take a Breather is only usable if you have ways to make an enemy threaten during your round, since it's a swift. Maybe a barabarian with CaGM? Nope, Fatigue will knock you right out of rage.

That's a really subjective thing, and I prefer to place them into some categories. The best are flexible backstories that allow for a character to branch out while providing a firm grounding. Then you've got backstories that lock a character in to a specific path, but are still interesting. Then there are backstories that are just there, and don't do anything particularly good. Then there are bad backstories. If I had the motivation I might rank them, but it seems an undue hassle.

This is what I do, I'm about to go on a walk right now. For me, I also play whatever hype music I feel like at the time, sometimes throwing on something from the Guilty Gear/Blaz Blue soundtrack.

Un Rogue fucks up anything it hits with sneak attack in ways that REALLY fuck it up, and Minor and Major Magic got serious upgrades that make the Ninja Vanish Trick bland in comparison (the Studious Rogue Feat gives them full access to all 1st level spells and 0th level spells as spell like abilities, even the one 0th level spells can be used at will, and the one 1st level spell can be used a number of time equal to int bonus). The skill unlocks are meh, if only because most GMs give them to everyone or they never get past 7th level. the dex to damage is the main thing - finesse trainign removes feat tax. The Book of Shadows talents make them much nastier.

The Black Widow's mostly fine, though. The Plasma missile variants could stand to gain maybe 5 damage to their DoT and the interrupt's firing accuracy needs a bit of improvement, but overall it does quite well as the rear-echelon it's advertised as.

Just keep them occupied with a tougher friendly to punish any attempt to focus on you, unless of course you're sneaking into their FCB to cap it as they start jumping for Gamma.

Problem is, it doesn't. There's a lot of such contradictions everytime that crap shows up in the lore in fact.

>these people have no such views
>but she struggled anyways

>You can get a potion of sex change fairly cheap as an adventurer
>But the NPC still sold a far far more expensive sword to buy one without asking for any change, in some desperate bid to save a lover from... blah blah blah blah

>you can just use magic, so really there SHOULD be no struggle involved because the solution is relatively common and easy of access
>but muh struggolz

Far as I can tell? Where Crystal and her lot are concerned, the most important, desirable and attractive trait of all transitions or nonbinary IS a lack of tolerance or acceptance or at least the self loathing: without those you're just another oppressor.
>>
So I was considering what character to break down, and there's really no choice but /pfg/'s golden girl. So, Onryou Kaijitsu.

The Good) She's a solid addition to the Reformed Bully trope, a girl who spent her childhood fighting with everyone, but mastered herself with six years of training and returned as a peaceful young woman. In addition, her mentor is an excellent hook for the GM to bring in at his leisure.
The Great) It's nowhere on her character page, but the concept that she still has a childlike view of the world. This leaves her with plenty of space to grow, and so many paths, especially with the conflict between her oni urges and her monastic training.
The Bad) The Kaijitsu aspect. There's no mention of it outside her last name. We know Lonjiku is sensitive on the topic of adultery, but we have nothing about how he treats her. Her mother died shortly after she left to train, but that's not even brought up.
The Weird) They were gone for six years. That's a long time, but not enough time to visit 'each and every monastery and dojo in the Inner Sea.'

All in all Onryou is a fine, solid character, with a lot of space to grow. Her flaws are minor, or not so much a flaw as a lack. At the end of her backstory she's gone through a character arc, but is /not/ a complete and fully realized character, which is what a backstory should do - set the stage, then make room for the game. There are reasons /pfg/ likes her, and while part of it might be fetish or self-perpetuated, there's also substance there, a core around which the attention grew, and it's pretty good.

>But the NPC still sold a far far more expensive sword to buy one without asking for any change, in some desperate bid to save a lover from... blah blah blah blah
Anon, let's not be disingenuous, now.
When that AP came out, the less expensive sex change potion didn't even exist yet, and the one that did was at the high end of 4 digits, iirc.
The cheaper one was created after the AP.
>the most important, desirable and attractive trait of all transitions or nonbinary IS a lack of tolerance or acceptance or at least the self loathing
It's more like looking at the trials that come with it as a kind of catharsis for self improvement and building mental fortitude. I've read the same thing in literature written by marginalized groups the world over, and it's very prominent in Afro-Caribbean lit.
You are trying too hard to shit on them, anon, rather than letting the work speak for itself. I don't agree with everything put to pen, but I understand what it's underpinnings are supposed to represent. The end result, however, is rough and clearly slanted to the author's preferences on a situation most of the player base will not understand, and that is the issue.
>>
>>51111002

Do another one! You've got a keen eye for characterization and tropes, which makes me eager to see a by more of your interpretation of RotJR applications.
>>
>>51110542
Eh, the other Anon is making it sound way worse than what it is: the problems of HR are in the first three books where they assume you run a rebellion from the aforementioned Starbucks, and that everyone is Flounderized and the Big Bad -Barzillai, spiky armor guy up there- is assumed to have to act like an idiot "because he's arrogant" [sic. JJ].
The end plot is both about freeing Kintargo and the nearby region by exploiting a loophole in the contract the Thrunes made to ally themselves to hell, basically fucking up the entire nation if Cheliax sends troops en masse to reconquer Kintargo and the nearby Archduchy and about stopping the BBEG plan to become Cheliax itself, basically being able to move the landmass like it was his own body and acquiring demigod levels of power: also, Barzillai's plan does NOT fail by itself like the Anon above said in any way. In fact, you have to kill him TWO times to actually stop him.
I'm currently running the AP and having to do a fuckton of work to rewrite plot and tone for the earlier books (1-3, half of book 2 makes no sense), but stuff in later books is not-bad/good. Just relegate JJ's waifus role to the sidelines/annihilate them, but that goes without saying.
>>
>>51111056
Basically, and how when they came out, they were mistakenly believed to be better than regular summoners across the board, and broke PFS games in half.
>>
>>51109983
I'll be really pissed off if a character that was basically crowdsourced out to the thread makes it into RotJR. Dude couldn't even pick a name for the character without somebody holding his hand.
>>
>>51111056

As I understand it, the big fuss came from underperforming PFS players who didn't like that a caster had options that could make them a strong melee fighter, despite the fact that a Synthesist was demonstrably less powerful than a regular Summoner (a Summoner has separate action economies for himself and his eidolon; a Synthesist does not). Paizo's decision to ban the archetype while keeping more ridiculous options intact (like the Master Summoner) was considered questionable by many.

>>
>>51111413
So, what is the loophole in specifics?
>>
>>51111558
I'm not the guy who made the initial post alluding to a certain person, just echoing his sentiment that I dislike the idea of crowd-sourcing the thread after the GM said "pls don't",
>>
>>51111598

What game and GM said this?
>>
>>51111372
Yes, Flanderized, sorry: the books assume that you ran your "secret" rebellion in the open, with every quest-giving NPC knowing where your base is and who you are. The BBEG, a high level inquisitor with numerous spellcaster at his service, is assumed to not do anything about the rebellion just because he thinks he's so far above it, when he could literally scry and fry the PCs: this is exacerbated by the fact that there's even a possible good reason that could explain why he doesn't, but it's instead explained with "lolarrogant".
Regarding the contract the loophole was put there on purpose by the devils. Basically, Thrune and Hell are allied, but NOT friends: the devils are working with them for now to later fuck them over, and the clause was one of the ways to do that.
>>
>>51111598
Wait, who is this "certain person"?
>>
>>51111398
>You telling me the people that eat this stuff up are improving themselves and building mental fortitude? Especially that last one?
No, I said you see similar themes of personal growth in the face of difficult circumstances in writing the world over.
>>51111467 is right, you are looking for something to be offended about. I said flat out that it is rough, inelegant and clearly slanted to the author's personal mindset, which is what makes it poorly written.
But you are making it clear your issue isn't the writing, but the people for existing and whatever your grudge is against them. I think you need to think about whether or not it's healthy, and really worth your time to be mad about, or carry suspicions that someone is out to do... something that even you aren't really sure of.
As for the writing itself, I understand somewhat being a black dude, and I don't carry any illusions about what the average person on the street thinks of me when they see me. I could be upset about it, I could get angry and lash out at the people around me, but I choose to use it as encouragement to be a better man, every day, if only to spite the people who expect the worst of me because I was born what I am.
It's hard, but I do my best, and I think it has provided dividends.

Ossana Verona. After posting >>51097160 /pfg/ basically built the player for him asking questions like "should she be varisian or ulfen?"
>>
>>51111539

People make talk about their characters not to ask for advice but to pander to public opinion, and thus raise additional voices to call out in an attempt to sway the DM that these characters are popular, and thus will make /pfg/ angry at the DM if these characters ostensibly liked by /pfg/ don't get in.

Also people make talk about their characters to ask for advice, but that doesn't count.

I'm assuming you meant character. They (the player of said character) came up with the initial concept, others expanded upon the idea without being asked to do so. Plus I'd wager that the sheet itself wasn't anyone else's doing.

Jan and Seht.png
2MB, 1452x792px
>>51111248
I've been thinking about this one for a while now.

Jan Mvashti vs. Seht

I'll start with a disclaimer. Jan is not a poorly made character, but neither is he good. Unlike Kanela, I don't hate him.

Let's start with art. You might not think it's fair, but the art is the largest thing on the page, and the first thing that someone will look at. And when we compare the two, Jan's is bad. It's crowded, with a garish color palette. Seht's on the other hand, explains why he's been described as 'comfy,' with a pastoral scene and soothing colors.

Now let's move on to their appearance. Jan is described as pint-sized, something we could guess based on his artwork, but this confirms it. Seht's appearance, on the other hand, adds a bit more. He dyes his hair, and makes his clothes, and we're told that he imitates Varisians, while still maintaining Shoanti aspects. This is an appreciated bit of characterization, even in a physical description.

For their personalities. Both are helpful and friendly, and both have quirks, but in Seht's case these modify his helpfulness and friendliness, while Jan's exist to the side, disconnected from the character. Seht's quirk is that he has attention problems and has difficulty talking to people. Jan's is that he starts fires accidentally and... breaks into people's houses to read their books? Seht's problems add depth to his personality. He tries to be helpful and friendly /despite/ this discomfort. Jan's quirks just exist, without a relation to his personality.

There's not much to say about backstories in comparison. IMO Seht's is too long, and needs to be pared down by half. On the other hand, Jan hardly has a backstory at all, just that he's an orphan who was raised by Koya.

What this leaves us with is two scrawny kids, but who are very different in depth. Seht's characteristics tie into one another, and there's a sense that a lot more effort was put into it, as opposed to Jan's, which could be entirely in greentext format.
>>
So vigor lets me heal how much per day? Because if I'm playing a sphere campaign, I can take Basic Magic Training, then take Life sphere with the drawbacks 'Regeneration' and 'Cure Only' and take the talents 'Revitalize' and 'Greater healing', and once per day I can give myself Fast Healing 2 for 1 minute per two class levels.
>>
>>51107263
Well, Diogenes can be said to be a 'fake' philosopher, just a troll, who provides nothing of actual use in thinking about the world, but lets people 'pretend' to be even deeper thinkers than others by using him as their standard rather than other, actual philosophers.
Sounds like Pathfinder mentality to me.
>>
>>51111730
Also, I'm not the GM, just a bystander.

Bruh, you're actually whipping out Color Theory for this breakdown, that's muy bueno. This is a really gosh good explanation on why people like Seht so much, even if it isn't readily apparent; people might not be able to really *say* why they like a character, but when you discuss the constituent parts the greater reasons present themselves.

This might be me being greedy, but is there anyone else you'd want to discuss and reveal why people can't stop talking about them?
>>
>>51111158
Bookish Rogue.
>>
>>51107247
Speaking of Diogenes I once actually wrote the script to a game that entirely revolved around Diogen philosophy applied to artificial intelligence. It was an odd experience. I wish I could have finished the project.

It ain't even. It's an emergency reaction thing which REDUCES damage.

Fuck, it doesn't even HEAL you, specifically just reduces damage taken. If you take 10 damage and it rolls like a 15 or something, that's not healing you get, it goes the fuck away.
>>
>>51112088
Casimir, but it's pretty obvious why people like him.
>>
>>51112088

Ricktor, Etan, Casimir and Shizuka tend to be discussed a bit, and whenever they're brought up people tend to say they're "good" or "solid."
>>
>>51112034
Well it's what my mother always said to me.

"Fun is just a buzzword when you can't actualy think of any real reasons as to why the game is good, don't use it."

I have to take care of some more stuff right now, but if you leave some suggestions I'll do one when I get back.
>>
>>51112079
>Diogen philosophy applied to artificial intelligence.
But how can a computer masturbate, or defecate in a theater?
>>
>>51112118
People shit on Riktor all the time, and one of the people that compliments him is just trying to get DHB to stick around.
>>

>>51112150

>>
Blinding Ray Shot - does it deal damage or not? Ive heard arguments for both.
>>
>>51112139
>But how can a computer masturbate, or defecate in a theater?
George Lucas managed to do it 3 times.
>>
>>51112184
It's really easy to tell DHB's posts because he writes like an autist.
>>
>>51112273
What, like belching out strings of numbers or long lists of arbitrarily arranged bullshit?
>>
>>51112139
It was actually centered around attempted moralization of artificial intelligence. The main character played host to an AI. Each of the other main characters was connected to an AI and an attempted route to moralizing them, and a previous experiment the main character's father had conducted. For the main character the Diogen part came into play with "dog like".

So each was a route to moralization, a part of the father's past, and a reflection of the main character's AI.

Levi was the cutest, it was short for Leviathan as a Hobbesian attempt at creating a moral AI.

I had a bunch of stuff on AI life cycles, it was fun.
>>
>>51112192

Probably to do with him being a mature widower dripping with "daddy issue" undertones for any girl that tries to pursue him.
>>
>>51112118
How in the world is Shizuka "good" or "solid"? She's a nerd and that's about it.
>>
/pfg/, two questions.

1. Do Swashbucklers regain Panache when doing badass things like Gunslingers do with Grit?

2. What're some essential Magic items that are under 3000 GP?
>>
>>51112455
See, that's the thing. Out of those 4 the character with the most depth is, depressingly, Ricktor. He actually has some interesting things he's chasing after besides Ameiko.

I'm not saying the others aren't fine characters. It's just their goals aren't as interesting.
>>
>>51111886
>mfw now I feel like my unashamed noblebright hero isn't deep enough to merit accpetance
>>
>>51112222

So how does their family treat her?
>>
>>51112455

Every time Shizuka is brought up, it's as an example of a solid yet admittedly bland character. She's got a framework with numerous potential directions for the character.

She's a nerd with a boring life, but in comparison to some characters with hyper-focused concepts, that's really refreshing.

Him being a mortal retelling of the Romance of the Sun and Moon was really interesting!
>>
>>51112525
Don't. Jan may not have much depth to him, but like I said, I don't hate him. I wouldn't in any way be upset if he got accepted. Not only that, but the reason why I picked on him was because there was such an easy comparison to Seht, and such a clear difference in quality. If I did a comparison, of, say, Rubio and Etan, two characters who also have plenty of similarities, there wouldn't be a 'here's how to do it and here's how not to do it,' narrative, even if one may be better than the other.
>>
>>51112660
That's not part of his backstory, that was DHB's fanboy/an anon making something up.
>>
>>51112624
They are related to his curses, but they are interesting. He's got:
>why did his mentor disappear suddenly the moment he got a clue to his curse
>where is his mentor
>why did his father seem to die at the same time his mentor disappeared
>why does the mark of his shoulder match the amulet he found
>who cursed him, and why
>evidence points towards Tian Xia

I mean, unless the fact it's related to his oracle curse means it's just automatically not interesting.
>>
>>51112660
You mean something that someone else made up and that DHB never said anything about?
>>
>>51112703
It's a plot hook, but not an interesting one.

>>
>>51112768

Lunar Oracle is a reincarnation of that Tian moon god that is in love with Shizuru, the Tian Goddess of the Sun and patron deity of Minkai.

Ameiko is an Amatatsu, who are supposedly descendants of Shizuru.
>>
>>51112686
Well, now I'm scared to ask this, but I haven't seen much in the way of comments about Anja besides what I've spurred (and even that doesn't last long) so I'm rather concerned about the quality of my application for her.
>>
>>51112765
Just remember, that it your character not being talked about in /pfg/ has no bearing on your chances of getting in or the quality of your application. Even the opinion of one anon who thinks your backstory is the best or utter shit means nothing. Your app is in the fate of one person, the DM, and nothing more.
>>
>>51112764
I would be down for that, honestly. Might be fun to see what ways they could be foils if they both get in.
>>
>>51113054
And that is why all of DHB's applications are shit.

Let's look at the three of them:
>Krugen
Weird cannibal dwarf running away from his past
>Ricktor
Weird edgy thief who can't lie
>Kurat
Hobgoblin gigolo spy

Literally nothing redeemable.
>>
>>51113054
This.

Even though some anons evidently have a problem with my application, the DM is going to look at all the applications and pick the ones that are best suited as a party for his game.
>>
Does anybody think there's a chance that any of the applicants for RotJR don't already know what to expect from the whole plot?
>>
>>51113425
I purposefully read nothing but the primer. I know we need to do something about getting Ameiko on the throne, and we travel through the crown of the world, but nothing else.
>>
>>51113425
I don't. The setting as a whole isn't something I'm greatly familiar with, so RotJR's plot is a mystery to me at the very least.
>>
>>51113425
Chances are pretty much everyone knows what to expect from Burnt Offerings, considering how ubiquitous RotRL is. Anything after the first book of JR is likely up in the air, though it probably won't be too hard to guess the general flow of things even for people who didn't play it.

It feels kind of cheap, since I've recently ran through the first book of RotRL, but it was kind of a dull experience with the character I used and that campaign died shortly after starting book 2.

>>51113680
Ehh, different strokes for different folks. Krugen and Ricktor both smack a bit too much of self-loathing and negativity, whereas Kurat's got the general idea of "tired old spy that is nonetheless still talented and good at his job". He takes the common trappings of a "fantasy/romanticized spy", shows the reality of it, but then turns around and admits that the fantasy ideal of a spy is fantasized about for a reason. It's a nice collection of traits and ideas that just really hits well in all the right places.

I think Kurat's biggest weakness, ironically compared to the other two, is that his actual personality is lacking in-contrast to the very deep (but negative) personalities of Ricktor and Krugen.

Huh, that's a very good analysis. In the future, I'll keep some of these things in mind. Person who made Jan here.

Personally, I always appreciate characters that don't go into huge efforts to make a complex backstory because I'd rather focus on the campaign at hand. Keeping it open also keeps it loose to interpretation. The art analysis is something way out of my field, though, so it's interesting to hear - I just tried to find something that looked good and fit the concept.

A lot of the concepts do come down to lolrandom once really written down. It could have used a couple rounds of editing, but I didn't think it was worth the effort. Most of the fire stuff came from using the Peri-blooded Aasimar traits, which give pyrotechnics and a fiery disposition. I'm not sure whether that needs more explanation or needs it's cause and effect straightened out more.

Either way, I haven't gotten this kind of constructive criticism since I got out of college, this is good shit.

>>
>>51113802
For Krugen it's probably fear, paranoia, and a desire to keep his history in the past. Listless wandering and leaving the country for long periods of time, but returning. Basically someone who was lost.

For Ricktor it's more a desire for self improvement and need for acceptance. The need for acceptance is why he would have stuck with his father, and then his mentor. Along with a fear of exploitation. So sort of keeping his distance but wanting to be close.

Anja Spitszen.

The Good) It's always nice to see a tragic character whose tragedy isn't just a conga line of things hitting them with no influence of their own. Her mother left, her father died, she's getting brainsucked by a ghost and no one likes her, but her mother leaving isn't really tragic, and the other parts have a clear cause and effect. She's getting brainsucked because she burnt herself out with false anger, and people don't like her because she let herself get brainsucked.
The Great) Kurandis. Holy shit Kurandis. The important thing to note here is that he still hangs around her, which means he's still feeding off her emotions, which means she's still grieving, which means there is still plenty of room for growth, through untangling herself from her eidolon.
The Bad) There's no explanation of who she considers a friend, and that's the only way she distinguishes between 'protect' and 'wouldn't save from a burning building.' Is it just people she hangs around? Because that undercuts the loner aspect that you seem to be going for.
The Weird) Who was she? She's 25 years old, but we know absolutely nothing of what happened to her from age 0 to 15. I realize that it's ironic, after saying that Seht's backstory is too long, but it feels to me that a major portion of her story is missing.

>>51113782
I agree that a flexible backstory is better than a long backstory, my analysis was pointing out that there's not much meat on Jan's backstory's bones.
The art's not your fault in any way, but line it up next to something else and it looks worse.
As for the fire stuff, that's a problem that you have to sort out for yourself. Obviously your sheet and character should mirror each other to some extent, but there's not a need to have them perfectly reflect one another. You need to find a line for yourself, and figure out what parts of the sheet make for a better backstory.

Wait here we go. Ricktor is a a good case for the hedgehog's dilemma. He wants to be close to people, but fears what they'll do once he is close. So in response he tries to improve himself and help others without them trying to exploit them in a sort of gambit so they see no need to exploit him.

Krugen is a bit harder to diagnose what DHB was going for because there is less info on him.
>>
>>51114058
HV also didn't have an IRC room for four posters to live in an echo chamber of "Our characters are so great and people (actually it's just the four of us) keep talking about them so we're sure to be picked." Which is probably going to turn into a blender of butthurt when most of them don't make it.
>>
>>51113659
The fact that the best thing anybody can do is say "JAMES BOND" is really sickening. It's basically like saying "hes so cool like batman u guys". It's Big Bang Theory-tier referencing.
>>
>>51113628

I gosh heckin' hope for a harvest festival in RotJR! Dashing men and lovely women dancing under lamplight as a band plays with a chorus of crickets is the comfiest thing outside of a winter log cabin.

It also means we'll be shipping characters the moment a roster is selected.

I mean, there's a reason that when I submitted I was both, so I couldn't really say. Depends on what you want to do in the lewds I guess.

Could always go with a dickgirl

Don't ship with anon, anon! Anon is mine!
>>

I'm going to walk you home gently with fireflies to light our way!

I might even have to pick you up and princess-carry the rest of the way after one of your shoes break!
>>
>>51114220
The shipping has already started. Just look at that creepily overdetailed analysis of Casimir and Valeriya (apparently the work of neither character's player) a few days back. It still sounds cute as heck despite the creepiness of the poster.
>>

I appreciate the overview for Anja - I'll see if I can't work something into her early life a bit better, and figure out a better explanation for the whole "Friends" thing

Thanks Anon.

"Sickening", seriously? You put way too much focus into your hatred of DHB if it actively makes you sick because you don't like a character.

Just look over the apps. You'll see who lives there because they're already demanding that the other members of their club are also included. It just plain uncouth.

One day, anon...one day...

Also I'm still deciding how long I want the LK 2 playtest to last. Honestly it seems like a lot of people are wrapped up on what they're saying with it, so I'll probably consider ending it this coming sunday.

If/when more SoM info comes out, I'll be sure to relay it.
>>

Roll for it, anon.
>>
>>51114327
I didn't say both, I said that I submitted as both.

If you want to take it in the butt at night, make a girl. If you want to give that butt fucking, make a guy. Or you know, you pick what's thematically more interesting for the character and disregard that you want to be sucking cocks constantly.
>>
>>51114335

Well, congratulations! You got yourself carried! Now what's the next step in your master plan?
>>
>>51114327

What, you don't like that they think the game needs more apps of either gender?

In all seriousness, ask yourself what you want to do with the character, and then figure out if you'd rather do that as a male or female.
>>
>>51114366
There was a ton of discussion on the Onslaught Sniper, but the newer archetypes might not have had as many people look through them after they were put up.

Everyone should go have a read of it, for the "OH GOD BEEEEEEES" and metakinetic master and whatnot.

The guy is in his 50s in an era where contraceptives don't exist. I'm surprised he doesn't have more kids. The wonder is the fact he decided to raise them all. It makes sense that not a lot die in their youth because magic.

it's also kind of the point of duo apps, but I suppose that's a bit different
>>
>>51114589

What, was he insisting that Shizuka get in?
>>
>>51114598
Is anybody actually doing that for RotJR? I remember some dude wanted to push a yandere bitch for no reason other than to have a yandere bitch be creepily attached to another PC, but fortunately neither that player nor the ones he'd been trying to buddy up with stuck around.
>>
>>51114617
Her and Casimir.

Granted he stated it was a preference/desire as opposed to an outright command but still poor form.
>>
>>51114617
He was phrasing it as "I'd really, really like it if Casimir and/or Shizuka were accepted".

He said it was just a suggestion, but that's still pretty fucking shitty to try and push the GM into filling up half the player slots with personal preferences.
>>
32 Kobolds vs a party of 7.

Should the kobolds all roll their own initiative, or just go after the PCs?
>>
>>51114690
Roll initiative in three or four groups.

I don't understand this, but I also don't have any investment in any of the roll20 games so maybe I just don't have a grasp of the bizarro etiquette contained within.

It also makes me feel like Paizo forgot that magical healing cures twice as much nonlethal damage whenever it cures lethal damage. So, after the first, you're going to be relieving at least as much pain as you're causing.

There are 16 archers, so that would be one group, then I could do two groups of spear-users.

So should I have 3 initiatives, and each group acts on their "turn"?

Never actually had this many enemies in a spot before, so I'm not sure how to do it.
>>
>>51114690
Separate them into groups of 8, so there's four initiatives total.
>>
>>51114690
The level 7 party can just devastate the kobolds with 1-2 spells. A kobold has 5 HP, which means even on a made save they die to a fireball. A fireball is a 20ft radius spread. A 20ft spread covers 44 squares.
>>
>>51114776
The party has no casters because, and I quote, "Magic is fucking stupid".

>>51114772
Gotcha.
>>
>>51114767
Yeah, that's how I'd run it.
>>
>>51114690

Handle the archers as a single group, but break the spear users into 4-man squads.
>>
>>51108667
>Like a cleric, a sacrament alchemist must worship a deity
So.. They don't have to worship a deity?
>>
>>51114759
It's not preference that's poor form, it's not having the manners to keep it to yourself.
>>
>>51114791
Even to a level 7 martial a kobold does not constitute a reasonable threat. A kobold has a +1 to hit in melee and a +3 to hit at ranged. They also do a measly 1d6-1 or 1d3-1. To a level 7 martial their AC should be in its mid 20, meaning the kobolds only hit on a 20.

It's still nothing near a threat, it just takes longer for the martials to kill. Every round an archer kills 3 kobolds with a full attack with rapid shot.
>>
>>51114848
The kobolds don't need to actually hurt them anon...

It's just to show the party that they're walking into a dragon's lair.
>>
>>51114845
Yea that still makes no goddamn sense for something that's been ongoing for months, but everything about RotJR is a mess so what do I know.
>>
>>51114659
>>51114677

Ironically, neither Casimir nor Shizuka's players are really part of that club.

I mean, they come on from time to time but they hardly circlejerk.
>>
>>51114759
>when it's likely that there will be multiple instances of the game anyway, albeit with different GMs
No one stepped up to the bat to GM another instance.
>>
>>51114928
Shizuka: No, they've been cool about it.

Casimir: Are you fucking blind?
>>
>>51114869
make one of the kobolds in each group a threat, a sarge if you will
and all the sarges keep in contact, and all the kobolds have team work feats and use various combat rules like flanking to get an advantage
make them a cohesive fighting group

I wanted to have the archers ambush them once they start walking onto the bridge that leads into the keep the dragon has taken over.

Suggestions for how i should set up the archers if there are 8 on each tower?
>>
>>51114003
I would conservatively expect them to get rid of Cunning Initiative, Bane, and Solo Tactics if they were to go for that, if only because they are so scared of ALL DAY
>>
>>51114303
I missed that. I did see talk of shipping Seht and Kyler, which seemed really cute.
