Basecoat your damn models a solid black, white or grey instead of just slapping colours on. I can tell you didn't. It's very noticeable.

Beyond that, the usual "make sure you put a little water in your paint, then colour, shade with a wash, edge highlight a brighter shade of the initial colour" advice.

Don't paint eyes. I've been painting Orks since 2007 and never once have I painted eyes. Eyes are something which, when done badly, are really, really obvious. Simple washes will suffice for eyes on 99% of models that aren't Space Marines.

Got through another Kill Team mission. My opponent and I were both rolling our Veteran Teams which are monsters.

There was a strange coincidence though. We both decided to push our main infantry up the middle through cover with one or two Specials going with them. We were in each others faces before either of us took any casualties.
I grabbed some pics of the before, but got so caught up in the game that I forgot to take afters. The thing most worthy of mentioning is my opponents Cultist Champion survived 2 Hot-Las shots and a round of melee before quickly and efficiently putting my storm trooper 6 foot under.

My friends and I more or less stopped playing anything with a 3+ in general. There's so much more fun to be had when you're pulling off insane shit and men are dropping like flies. My Regiment goes heretic hunting on a world that is BOTH a hive world and murder world. One half is also bathed in constant solar radiation. And our women are more hardcore than even your most manly man.

Vet's in catdogs sounds like a good way of keeping unit count down but still keeping useful units. Be sure to keep an eye on Ebay or consider recasting.

Vets in Chimeras with Rough Riders and maybe some backup tanks (Leman Russes are the go-to, but you could always try out some other stuff). It'd be a reasonably speedy force and have a low model count, plus Praetorian Rough Riders would look great. Victoria's RR kit is designed to work best with Victorians so you don't have a lot of reason to not.

Does the Forge World Leman Russ Exterminator kit come with a hull lascannon? I'm thinking of getting one and I've only ever run exterminators in one configuration: as a command tank with lascannon hull gun and multi-melta sponsons.

Normally you can fire single (1) weapon. Multi-tracker allows you to fire additional weapon. Each gun on the suit counts as a single weapon (except twin-linked of course, that is explained in the main rulebook).
This is the reason why most players equip only two guns on each suit.
If you want to have 3 guns, have the two guns you want the suit to have and a flamer. It's only 5p and gives you additional close range and overwatch boost in clutch situations.

I was under the impression that the minimum number of knights you take if you decide to take them is two, much like dreadnoughts. Just figure one knight is a free 400 points, right? Focusing more on skitarii would help fill the atrocious gap in the army but at a glance it looks like the one reason to take skitarii is for minmaxed squads of vanguard and the fantastic icarus arrays on the onagers. I have honestly been considering a list with all the 4 Cerastus variants, a inquisition detachment (inquisitor + 3x3 acolytes) and the antipsyker assassin. Think it would be pretty fun to play at tournament (not winning prizes though!), but I don't think it will win any friends in casual games

I've revised it but I'm not entirely sure if I made forward progress. It feels like a list pulled in separate directions, unsure of what it wants to do/survive from. I lose all command benefits of the knights including the baronial formation with the seneschal bonuses but perhaps aren't entirely necessary for the acheron as it's motivation is it's flamer.

So, out of curiosity, my FLGS is having a kill team event next week.what should I do for the kill team booklet? I don't have interest in getting the whole set and taking forever to sell the extra's, and I don't have a tablet or any big device to purchase the digital rules for. And paying 20 bucks for a booklet for a side game that might just be flavor of the month is something that i'm not enthusiastic about. I'm thinking of just printing the rules from online and bringing that, but i'm afraid i'll get shit on for it. Do any of you guys have experience with GW's kill team events? Has anyone at your flgs brought the rules printed out? Were the other players fine with it?
