But that's the thing. The realization is too large to grasp, on a conceptual level. It'd be like trying to run a modern game on a punch card computer. Sure, the ones and zeroes are the same, but the capacity simply isn't there. At best you reject it wholesale, just don't keep any of it with you. Yeah, Great Dragons are much closer to Lovecraft than Cthulhu in Pathfinder, since they work outside the rules. There's a bit of loss because they're something that we as players have reference to, but the fact that most of the time they'll just laugh and redo everything makes it work well. Depends on how you define encounter. They fought what Paizo intended to be 3 separate encounters (+a halfling ninja for spice) as one encounter through one battle. With the party split.

No progress in the second session happened because of a late start, and wound up being almost entirely RP (which is not a bad thing). Side channel technically took out half of a future encounter (not even the second "Scene" of the AP, one that was much further down), and derailed the second scene of the AP.

RAW, it doesn't, since it just says type and not descriptor, while other things, like the Elemental Sorcerer Bloodline, say type and descriptor. How does relativity burst work exactly /pfg/? I used it to move out of the way after some fool full attacked me but I got hit by the first attack and avoided the rest. I thought that it let you avoid shit altogether like if being targeted by an attack or a fireball. My DM says the effect happens first then you take a move.

Nigga I don't even know, since I have a FUCKTON of character concepts on the backburner. My currant DM pitched the idea of playing HV way back when Vigilante was new, so I've been sitting on a Warlock for a while now. No idea what I'd have combined it with, since I'd have to convert it to spheres. Character wise, probably a turbonerd that's an immense prude in her social identity, and an ice-slinging hothead that's willing to take any job for the right price in her Vigilante identity. Immense focus on having disguises because yes she's a chick with a dick, but the vestigial wings are way more embarrassing and nobody must know.

The character I was originally gonna use for that has since evolved into a CN Investigator for an Iron Gods game. She is instead a stab-happy hothead ALL the time now.

Well, the wolf wasn't involved, just the Lamashtan Vigilante. The Wolf kept its jaws around her remaining son's neck (she accidentally killed the first son with a crit) to ensure that the Sword Knight was... cooperative. The rules are slightly less of a mess than back in 3.5, and there isn't nearly as massive a glut of resources (using a single class is much more viable in Pathfinder, though there are still plenty of character options). However, it's still obtuse at times, and the attitude towards trap options unfortunately persisted.

I do recommend trying one of the prewritten campaigns if you want to get into it, at least until you have some idea of what you're doing. The general can probably recommend some of the better ones.

yeah they have halved damage, which means if you team up with them to focus fire, you'll do a bit more damage than an unarchetyped avowed (because of riders, base damages, etc), and also cause the opponent to have more chances to fail saves.

It's a sidegrade to the base avowed class, anon.

And even then, the encounters are often more fun played as normal combat encounters, maybe as mass combat if you're feeling fancy.

Just have plenty of details of what the other caravan members are doing on the sidelines, and maybe have them pick off some mooks/whittle away at a big guy while the PCs fight some major threats.
