Anyway, I finally figured out what I'm going to do for >>50891053 , it'll consist of a variety of DC-based challenges that the players will have the opportunity to partake in that will test their characters on everything and anything, from their CMD to their Climb checks. They list as follows:
CMB: wrestling a greased pig in 30 seconds, grease gives the pig a high but eroding save to its CMB each round as it sloughs off every round.
Fortitude: Classic drinking contest, only this isn't booze but straight up magically laced drinks. You get fixed after it's over but you have to last a full minute's worth of saves with 3 stages of sleep and worsening DCs if you fail each one in succession.
Range: Self explanatory, your standard "hit the bullseye" schtick.
Performance: The vendor is using magic tricks to enchant the audience, you need to rock that much harder to get them to love you more!
Damage (instead of just melee in general, that's for the grand finale): You're given an axe and a pile of wood, and are assumed to hit every time. Tally up your damage chopping wood for a minute to see how well you do.
AC/Reflex: There's a series of rotating bars with paint brushes on them, your job is to move through them with as few hits as possible. If a brush beats your AC you have the option of making a reflex that beats its "attack" roll to dodge it, but be warned, trying to blitz through it means that every bar gets an AOO on you for free.
Knowledges: A stack of books is given to you for reference on things you're not intimately familiar with (book gives you +2 and the ability to use the knowledge untrained), you're given a minute to answer as many questions about various topics as possible before the time runs out.
Perception: Spot the difference! Characters are given a series of images and players must roll to see how well they can see the difference between the two images.

Diplomacy: Convince the judge your side is right! You and a pre-appointed opponent are given a topic to discuss and it's up to you to give a compelling argument for your side of the conversation.
Spellcraft: A series of objects are hidden underneath cloths, as each one is unveiled it's your job to identify the object in the allotted time.

Is there a list of ability expectations that a party should be able to meet based on level?
Stuff like

So a Range 10/Horizon Walker 10 is actually really terrifying in his main favorite terrain.

If we're talking about an Urban one he now has +22 to attack and damage to anyone native to an urban environment, which is essentially all humanoids.

An Urban Horizon Walker 10 /Warden Ranger 10 has a +44 to perception against anything native to his favored terrain. How the fuck are you supposed to hide from that?

If you have a competent group, this isn't a problem. A ranger, mage, or whatever can attack or CC them, and if you do it right you can easily get them in melee range. This is a class thing more than a level one.

Bypassing magic isn't terribly hard, since it only really requires a +1 weapon. So its more whenever they get there. Ethereal is somewhat harder, since you need ghost touch or something specific like that. Probably mid level stuff.

You can get these from first level with proper prep. Even mundane things can help with this, like a pouch of sand.

Its all about how you get them, rather than when you should.

I'm more wondering if there's a specific table made for this by checking the abilities of monsters at each CR, since I've noticed that it's a sort of idea that's built into a lot of 1pp and 3pp class design.
A lot of class talents say 'You now can counter this thing, you must be at least Xth level to take it' - so some vague idea of a standard must exist.

True as this is, you still need force or ghost touch stuff to really lay into them. Its not particularly necessary, but its a quality of life thing that can't be ignored.

Its less that there is a standard, and more that there's a quality of life shift at that point. Almost everything can be effectively dealt with early on, if you build right. Its less about when can or should you, and more if you have that level of imagination and preparatory knowledge.

As an example, my monk got a ring of force shield in 3.5. my GM probably never intended it for this, but i used it to smack the shit out of a pudding to avoid damage to myself, and had planned to smack ghosts with it for a long while. Its all about making clever use of things, not so much having a catch-all ability.

The more ingenuitive your players are, the less those level standards would matter, basically.

depends if the maneuver (I haven't read it) allows you to go straight up, and whether you need things like a specific altitude (you'll need to reach it) or a running start (you don't have that doing this) or if there's any specific movements or preparation required first that you will have broken by doing it this way.

The issue is with that you can't use that for anything that is timely because you need to enter the trance.

While this doesn't seem like a big issue it isn't as if you could use it for Orating Linguistics or any knowledge skill in combat. Though I admit it's pretty good. It's also a limited number of times per day while the other stacks.

Also there is nothing stopping a lore oracle from also abusing blood money. Blood money is a bad spell to allow no matter what.

All the fact that blood money is around really means to me is that I'm going to use it. It does trip a red flag for me that the GM is allowing it with no caveats besides "don't do it with magic jar" as Blood Money destroys the game.

This is why I may switch from a Exposed Warlock Vigilante to a Conspirator Empiricist Investigator. That and it actually fits the character better. However the only real issue with this is the character may have to now be a melee fighter, which is much more feat heavy if I want to be dex.

I came to a determination with Kurat's build.

I need to change it entirely based around a realization I had. He does not have the "Charming" trait.

To amend this I have to change class, possible lose an age category. Now I likely changing to an Investigator. As well this allows me to wield a swordcane.

One of the issues is being a non-contributor is combat. While it is expected the entire party can contribute in combat he sacrificed all combat ability to be better out of combat.

While having high bonuses isn't a problem I consider blood money abuse a problem.

DSP's fucking DRAGON class. Silver dragon, specifically. It's... something, for sure. You get a d10 breath weapon, a ton of natural attacks, lots of ability score bonuses, and a D12 HD with all good saves... but no fancy shit. Very stoic and simple class, straightforward. I love it, personally.

The illusions combined with martial knowledge, linguistics/oratory and an actual martial tradition will make teaching those things fairly easy; a clear case of "those who cannot, teach".

The winter wolf can be handled with illusions at the very least, and diplomacy when communication is made possible, but I strongly suspect there's something I've missed in there that might allow far more direct elimination, I just haven't spotted it yet.

I am having a very hard time deciding a level 1 feat for Kurat now that he no longer uses Orator.

I could still use Skill Focus I suppose.

Another possibility is get TWF so that I can use a dagger in my off hand with the sword cane.

The problem is because I have VMC Witch to grab a familiar (and later some sweet hexes) I now have an issue that I can not take Deadly Agility at level 3. This effectively cripples my melee overall.

I could also take Deft Maneuvers and call it a day for now. However combat Manuvers will seem rather sad compared to initiators, so I would rather spend it on skills. Just not sure what to spend it on besides boring old skill focus.

Is it still possible to use Skill Focus -> Eldritch Heritage and get a bloodline familiar rather than a bloodline power? I am considering that as well.

In Kurat's backstory his parents originally fled from Isger due to being part of an oppressed religious minority. Originally I believe I had it Abadar. However that doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Now I'm considering Iomedae since Isger is a Chelaxian state. I am also considering Irori, but am unsure if it makes sense for Irori to be an oppressed minority in Isger.

Any thoughts on this?

Solome Moonvigil, The Squire.

The third daughter and second youngest child of sixteen children, Solome was nearly the exact bottom of the political barrel. Her Nexian Noble family had no idea what to do with her. Not to mention her "rebellious" nature of heading down to the local pub to become a dancer, instead of studying to be a wizard like a GOOD LITTLE GIRL!

The absolute nail in the coffin for Salome's fortunes with her family was when she accepted tutalage from a savage druid of all things. What with their whoopin and hollerin and shaking their unmentionables to gain a modicum of power. They one day impressed upon her that she had become the Ambassador for Molthune. A high honor indeed. Before she could protest she was prepped for the trip and shoved through a Gate spell with the instructions to establish trade route between the two nations.

She had found that the papers of authenticity were forged, the title to her holdings involved a one acre stretch of land and a small shack half sunken into muck. And worst of all, they made her leave her favorite clothes and her dancer's outfit!

Stuck in a foreign land with no real assets, she petitions to be a squire for some noble, if nothing else the long road to becoming a Dame is direction to start.
