I'm not sure why you think Rogue is a bad class for a knight. Rogue doesn't mean stab you in the back and steal your gold, the class is so flexible that it doesn't have any set in stone flavor. The Rake archetype, for example, could be a duelist, or a knight, or a sociopath.

I'm a filthy shameless slut for full-BAB classes that can take a hard one to the face in combat, which is why I've been romancing the concept of using Slayer over Rogue, even if Rogue fits a little bit better - that said, this isn't a solo campaign, and everyone will be making martials of some flavor! How bad is 2x 2d8 at level 3?
I don't think I can get more than maybe +1 per hit damage-wise, so just assume its those flat dice.

Did you know that gladiators would go around building up their opponents, praising them and establishing them as skilled fighters who would probably win? Not only was it the polite and honorable thing to do, but it made your victories more glorious and your defeats less humiliating, because you had claimed you would most likely be losing.

The reverse makes no sense. Not only are you being a cunt, but you've set yourself up for either a victory with no meaning, since your opponent was never a threat, or an embarrassing defeat since you were so confident in your success.

Yeah. It's considered kinda shitty though because it can entirely negate all ranged attack rolls - magic or otherwise, even if they're against touch-AC because they're too fast. It's basically impossible to beat melee total attack bonuses with range, and no one can attack nearly as often as someone can get AoOs just by taking Combat Reflexes, so you basically get to negate two ranged PCs combined completely no matter what they'd do, at any given time.

Backstory of the species is that basically they're an experiment brought into the world in an attempt to make a type of dragon that doesn't immediately want to rip out opposing colors or alignments. Coming from the guy who literally JUST posted about making essentially a dragon-king NPC, the answer is most likely that "you don't". Unfortunately, the nature of dragons means that unless you're simply playing one in spirit, since they can turn into a human, so if your goal is to be a member of the party in your original lizard form it simply won't work, since dragons level up by aging and not by adventuring.

So I fleshed out more of my old spy's backstory. I will likely revisit it later, flesh out more of the names, and people. Especially the character's friends.

You also keep the infusion specialization to lower the cost of kinetic whip, which is also lowered by Kbm.
The Roil Dancer was made to be a close range blaster, and all of this makes it pretty good at it.

So I'm a kineticist in a game, focusing on aether and its shenanginas, mostly focused on utility and crowd control. The other two players are a tank of a fighter with PoW archetype and a Warlord. The GM says that he's a bit worried that I might be underpowered, comparatively, so he's ok if I find some archetype or something that can help me out and get better shit. Anyone have any recommendations? I'd prefer to stay as the whole utility/crowd control aetheric monkey.

So here is Kurat's character sheet. It's my first time playing a vigilante of any time and I'm pretty unsure of it.

I'm considering going back to 18 dex & 16 int, then grabbing deadly agility to be more of a melee combatant. However that switch would require the character being about a decade younger as he couldn't be old in that case.

While the avant guard is awesome, it loses out on some versatility for gaining it. It'd basically just be a small lateral boost, and unless you're also going Roil Dancer, it seems like it'd fit in PoW.

Avant Guard is super fun.

Avant Guard+Roil Dancer is madness in the best way, I've made one and in one single class build it rivals some multiclass gestalts I've made.

Unfortunately that combo only really becomes smooth sailing at level 7+; If you want to use your kinetic blade before then you don't have a blast to use it with. You can take the Augmented Elements feat which gives you a blast for one burn, but that might take some careful animus management.

Basically:
Gambler is a strong all day psionic blaster but it loses all the normal kineticist stuff; it's a kineticist only in flavor. If you play the class right, you basically have unlimited power points, though, which is pretty much as good as it sounds.

Avant Guard is Base Kineticist++, it fixes burn and gives you a really cool stand. You have even better utility than the original, and your damage is consistent and reasonable.

Roil Dancer gives up a chunk of utility for strong combat. It's what you take if you want to do damage that can rival your initiator buddies and have maneuvers in battle.
