What new thing, mechanic wise, would be good for my CYOAs?

I notice they all have a trend of, "pick class, pick skills under class" so I had an idea of:
>no skill limits (i.e. pick your skills freely, like GWOO)
>each skill has tiers
>each tier offers unique effect (generally speaking, they will be better than the previous tiers)

For example, one idea I had is the "Heavy Armour" skill:

Unstoppable when charging forward while wearing heavy armour
>Tier 3
Reflect a part of everything that hits you back to the attacker

This isn't a mechanic but I would love if you did something about the text in your cyoas.
The lines are long (many words on one line), the fontsize is tiny, there's little space between lines and the text is plain (no shadows, strokes, text boxes)... It all adds to making your cyoa unappealing to do right from the get-go.
I'm turned off by the walls of text before I even gave your cyoa a chance.

Slippery just gives you a sweating problem. It doesn't mention temperature as a requirement; probably just means you start drenching yourself in situations when you'd normally sweat due to high temperatures (70 to 90+C*) or high exertion, while you'd have a constant sheen unless you're damn near stark-naked with a decent breeze to keep you Barely dry.

I was looking for inspiration for a sort of kingmaker game that I am planning and thought this would be a good place to start as I could imagine someone making it into a CYOA.

I am interested in exploring different paths to power and leadership.
I'd like to provide opportunities and challenges for the players to encounter along their rise to power.

What I'm looking for is an array of the different ways one can become and stay a leader:

There should be some in the drives in the pastebin but I don't know them good enough to tell you precisely which. Generally those are "adventuring" CYOAs which let you get a crown or something after you achieve a quest or something similar.
The lattest to kinda do that was Adventure in the Orient I guess, where it's a bit vague but you have a "intrigues to gain power and maybe become the shogun yourself" quest I think? I don't know if that's what you're looking for.

Except for maybe the tier of skills, all these ideia's seems bad for me.
The worst being races giving some free tier skill (because races ALREADY do give special habilities, for instance, humans having 50% more physicial and magical endurance) and no skill limits (because it dramatically reduces build variety.). For instance, class X have most skills that are terrible, but I notice that skills A and B and C together are actually quite good, so the class becomes good for me.

While I understand the idea of a class-less system, I enjoyed the idea of the classes, maybe some cross-class features would be a better solution.

Tiers are fine, as they give birth to more build veriety, but personally I don't think they are so important, as I already imagined them as a function of your relevant habilities.

Can I split energy capacitors into parts with smnaller energy output? Most fighters and frigates use from 1 to 2 "points" of energy but energy capacitors provide 3 points and cost 12m which is a lot compared to ship prices. I think an option to split them in 3 (1 energy for 4m) would be reasonable.

Do secondary ship discounts apply to equipment for those ships? e.g. If I buy a carrier and a fighter, will I get a weapon discount for my fighter?

Was it made by the same author who made space refugee cyoa?

Depending on how you view it, a spiritual transfusion ether allows you to become a creature of fantasy/folklore, like fairies or oni, or it turns you into a more ghost-like entity that can change their physicality and possess non-sapient things. Depends on how you wanna run it.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone do it before, despite what the image used would suggest. I would say you probably can't do this, but I'm not the guy who made it so what do I know. It would probably be to your benefit to have extra energy so you can use some more of the weapons available, since if you're only using the minimum amount of power required for those ships you're stuck with 1/2 power weapons, and there's only five of those.

After receiving the invitation to the island, I pack my bags and head off with my companions and my real-life friends, after I've given them a little "curse" to deal with. The way I've timed it, I'll be transforming right alongside them, getting to feel it first before I can help them get to know what's happening to them in a more intimate way.

Of course, all this time, I'm prepping for school with Aki, who I'll be roomies with. She doesn't really care much about gender; we just hang out and play vidya together every time it's okay and, hopefully, some few weeks in, begin sharing a bed and cuddle every night. Occasionally I invite over Uni and Gege or my real friends to play with us, too, and Karen comes to visit every once in a while, often rappelling into the dorms from a personal helicopter.

And, of course, given the nature of the island as a school, I'll probably get to study mechanical engineering like I wanted to originally.

I imagine, after a while, that Super-stalker is going to show up again. I'll have to deal with him eventually, so why not just make him a friend and an asset? I'll give him a few teases and pictures of me and Aki being romantic together to bait him into becoming my lackey, who I'll send out like a servant to go do things for me and be my edgy girl-neckbeard bodyguard who will have the narrative tone of an anime's comic relief character surrounding him at all times.

Eventually, though, I imagine this situation will dissolve and I'll have to move on. I'll marry Aki and join Karen on business ventures and bankroll a small game's company to develop Aki's dream games co-operatively with her.

At this point, being probably around 30 or so years old, I'll probably dole out the immortality to all my friends and companions and just kill myself to activate it early by skydiving with Aki into a volcano and having Karen hire a drone strike to make sure we're obliterated into mere atoms before reforming totally okay miles away.

After that point, though, it's anyone's game. I'm totally content with love, being a girl, and having good friends (and one rich one). I imagine at this point all that's left is merely to continue to succeed, enjoy my friends, and wait to see what the future brings.

I don't know shit about stratedy and maybe it shows. It's about having enough balance between bodies to throw at them and specialists to do stuff, like magic specialists or artillery and assassins to show every grunt that we've got what it takes to win. I have the strategists to do most real decisions since I have no idea about what I'm doing and I will instead form a kinda elite team to go and do surgical strikes on ennemy positions, from afar with artillery protected by other people so :

I also wanted to take Dragomir since he's cool but he doesn't fit in my team (and I already have the +1 ally perk).

I think I would have met Inugami before being chosen since I have left the homeland despite being "noble" so we could have met in the free state, by accident or by design (being a noble I guess I'd have some standing or some need for mercenaries). Since Tsukino is a merc too maybe they're both from the same company or he would have introduced us to each other. Damara seeks us out so it's easy to figure out.

Not many people would trust me for this battle and it's a good thing since I have already stated I don't know much about all this and prefer to be on the field. I hope to prove them I am at least a good warrior with this team and to wreck virus vampire shit before it wrecks us !

I was mostly just grinning like an idiot while I was writing Esmé, but I would have to give it to Ea___ for someone who hits my spots.

Honestly, it's the presentation that I thought is what drove it to become well liked. The idea for being "roommates" to divine beings just clicked with me, and the setting just wrote itself.

I think that the setting is also what kept people interested, because people found something they could imagine themselves in. I don't mean to talk smack, but I see that a lot of the other waifu CYOAs tend to just pluck you in a non-setting or an unimaginative one. I'd like to see more of these types of CYOAs with a more fleshed out world with tangible concepts to grasp.

I might talk shit a lot about tunebuggy, but it's one of the things I appreciated about his Mars CYOA. There was something solid for you to imagine yourself in.

Just imagine all of Kit's CYOAs with an engaging background. I think if he put more effort into world building, they'd all be superb CYOAs.

For me, it's mostly the innocence coupled with responsibility. I like a girl who can make a life for herself, and she doesn't ask for much from you. It's one of those relationships where you're genuinely in it for the goodwill, but at the same time it doesn't toll on you for the commitment.

Anal is just icing on the cake, but it was mandatory for the sake of the CYOA. I still haven't showed my gf this one because she's basically Ea. I can never decide between Ea and Irinael myself. Ea's pretty obvious waifu material, but Irinael's got that whole quirky girl thing going on in the best way possible. I also find the "I don't know what sex is but I want to have it with you" thing to be one hell of a turn-on.

I generally end up tiebreaking for Ea because of her powers, though. Cloning plus body swapping plus magic bondage chains plus mild levels of divine creativity and knowledge lead to what I imagine will be an amazing sex life.

But yeah, Smudge tool. Fiddle with the brush settings, particularly scatter. Pick a brush that's weirdly shaped for better effects.
