Comparatively, Acts of Faith have to test for their bonus, and it applies only once per squad. Imperatives and Canticles buff the entire (every model with the respective rules) faction with no need to test for the roll.

There is quite a difference between those rules, but at the same time SoB AoF might be more potent, and thus merit their more limited rules. Still, near all the factions with one-use army-wide rules need take no test to get the benefits, and AoF seems more like Militarum Orders in mechanics, which test because they can be used multiple times.

By this established precedent (multi-use buff test/single use are expended without a test), AoF should be multi-use, or else wouldn't need to test. If we go by the old rules, they generate Faith points which can be spent to make AoF tests, which works much more like Astra Militarum Orders and makes more sense. Otherwise each unit should just be able to pop the AoF when required without a test, rather than expending their generated resources each turn.

Pick an orange that you like, buy it, then buy one shade darker and two shades lighter, and a wash.

Always have a focus for every unit. It's kind of pointless to have 4 Bolter dudes sit next to a Lascannon. That's why you generally won't see heavy weapons on tacs, except grav cannons since you can move and shoot.

Good tac squad is generally combi weapon plus a matching special. Melta bombs on a melta squad are also viable since you can charge to finish off a tank. At 500 points you may or may not need a transport for them. Just depends on your local opponents and terrain.

Here's the thing with combi weapons. I used to think like you did. Most of the time, though, you only need and only ever get one or two rounds of shooting before your special dude dies.

Cannon is still situational. You need to take two tac squads anyways, so drop the cannon and you'll have exactly enough for two grav or plasma guns and two matching combi weapons. Maybe do one plas that moves up first and the grav hangs back to charge up and get more range.

Most the people I play with are friends, and even if it's the rare stranger the LGS is run buy old hobbyists that have a pretty laid back attitude that respects the 'spirit of the game'. The Fabius novels and stories are hella interesting. They reveal a lot of interesting things space marine biology. H said that the Emperor made a mistake by just uplifting males into being Space Marines. Chapters like Space Wolves have a more feral geneseed and they probably don't do clean mindwipes or psycho conditioning as much as other more standard chapters so it makes sense they're rowdier.
