No, that's just in the 2003 anime, which due to the manga being relatively young at the time had to make up a lot to pad it out into a full story. The jump is based on the manga and the 2009 anime, where alchemy is powered by natural energy sources, the easiest one being tectonic. The souls come into it with Father having spread a thing layer of philospher's stone material across the entire bedrock of Amnestris, allowing him to control the flow of tectonic energy and thereby cut people off from access to alchemy. He can't disable alkahestry, though, since that's designed to operate on all sorts of natural energy cycles because of its more holistic origins in medical alchemy.

That was in the 2003 anime, in the manga, and FMA brotherhood it's explained to be powered by tectonic activity, but that how it's powered is defined by the formula you use. You could theoretically use a different power source but in the nation Amestris, the formula they use is powered by the earth. Alkahestry uses something they call the Dragon Pulse(which they describe mystically and thus vaguely), their use of it is not cut off when the flow of energy that is used by Alchemy is cut off, implying that at least they use something other than tectonic activity.

Dark Souls has an approximation of that as well as the Great Sword of Artorias, the Stormbringer, I like the Dancer's swords too... uh, probably more but I like the great swords.

40K has Chain Swords, Power Swords, Choppas and a couple of holy swords like the Ardent Blade.

At its base, the Dragonslayer isn't actually anything special. It's just a fuckhuge sword that's too big to be wielded effectively by someone who's at least as strong as Guts. The "demon-slaying" thing it's got going on is just because it's killed so many demons, any weapon could get that same effect if you killed enough demons with it.

So, still working on Metroid. Then I remembered I still really want Clock Up.

Would it be feasible to put Ryuki and Kabuto in the same jump, since they don't play well with the others? I know they're not exactly side-by-side series, but it'd give me more to work with I was originally considering an LoT-style gauntlet for Ryuki except with no hamfisted 'power equals immoral' theme, but I was having second thoughts, I just lacked extra content to work with.

Finished reading it, and yes, you did. I like them a lot. The Fortress That Moves is excellent, as I expected, but I'm also fond of Thaia yn Ebunma, The Morass of Virii and Manifold Beings, The Artful Temple That Is Not, and all of them, really. They're all good, those are just my favorites.

How long does it take for your Akuma to learn more of your powers? Say one of them wants to learn a perk that lets me run at mach 2 and I didn't just remove an equivalent power to give it to them when rebuilding them as an Akuma.

They aren't actually even in the same universe. Kabuto's movie and drama canon take part in an altverse, so there's really no reason for them both to exist at once. If they did, they'd probably internally destroy one another, since one of the Rider groups (Ryuki) is obsessed with self combusting whereas the other association (ZECT Kabuto) doesn't actually "die off" at the last episode, they just restructure.

The Messianic charms tend not to be sustained effects. If they make something that lasts, it's them shaping the world and it persisting. Like how a healing effect wouldn't cause your wounds to reappear just because the power source for it was cut off, the effect has already been applied and things are just going on their own inertia from then.

Well, they shouldn't exactly copy the powers of another Exalted type. That's not really how Devil-Tigers work. But similar themes are certainly possible. Look at canon Yozi charms or the various homebrews people have made for the other Yozi for examples. Most charms should be low Essence, and have built-in expansions as you get higher in Essence. Lots of simple charms that get enhanced by buying permanent charms offering new uses, too.

OK! It works like this. Infernal Charms follow the "Themes" of the Yozi they are tied to.
Malfias is Rage, Revenge, and Rulership all mixed together, and ALL of his charms reflect one or more of those themes.
Cecelyene is Law, and The Strong Must Rule Over the Weak, and ALL of her charms reflect that.

Devil-Tigers work by picking a theme(Or themes) and running with it, both for when YOU go devil-tiger, and for the devil-tiger you create when you take that perk.

By becoming a Devil Tiger, you get to choose a set of themes to represent what kind of titan you want to be. This is a bullshit argument. Fate is being restructured because Val wants to do it. I don't see people breaking up UC into separate jumps even though plenty of those series has the content to do so, X, Turn A, Reconguista in G, IBO still don't have jumps. Of those four, only the latter is excusable since it's still running. The number of UC series actually far outnumber the amount of Heiseis remaining if you break it down into each MSV and OAV. Literally no one has complained about the Gundam jump being merged together in the last hundred threads.

Themes can be pretty wide. The existing Yozis each cover a lot of concepts. Look up "Ink Monkeys", it was a blog of free official content White Wolf did. It's off the net along with the rest of White Wolf, but you can find PDF compilations. Anyway, one of the sections was on "Infernal Geomancy", and as part of that listed the full list of themes for every Yozi. They're pretty huge. Use those as a guide.

Specifically, I am talking about the Crown of Thunders. It's a 5-dot artifact, so not out of bounds to be offered compared to everything else.

But it being the symbol of the Exalted's Creation-Ruling Mandate makes a bit more significant.

One of the core rules in Exalted is that there are NO TAKEBACKS. No retcons. No Reset Button to press to undo your mistakes. Everything that an Exalt does is PERMANENT.

It's one of the core conceits of the setting. You cannot undo the consequences of your actions. No true resurrection, no time travel.
Everything else? Fair game.
The only question is if you should do it.

Not in the traditional sense. They can't grow anything back, but they can instantly reattach severed pieces, up to and including total dismemberment and decapitation.
Fire is really the only thing they have a vulnerability to.

Which is why you usually have to tear one apart before setting it on fire, if you want to kill it. Most of the time, they'll put out the fire before it does any damage, but that's a lot harder to do when you're in multiple pieces.

Yes, you'd need to convince them if you want their Charms. Favoring them could make it a bit easier, but it would still require persuasion.

This is LITERALLY the biggest game changer EVER in Creation, especially if you can teach it to others. I thought that the local setting's metaphysics adjusted to allow out-of-jump powers to work. So if you have a fiat backed form of resurrection the wonky metaphysics of Exalted would accommodate you somehow. Or is this just a house-rule?

Even so, you'd probably need something better than D&D: even in D&D you can't resurrect someone who has already been reincarnated, or whose soul is trapped or destroyed or whatever, and I suppose Exalted's mechanics would also block it, unless maybe the person just died or something.

If you have a resurrection ability I suppose you could just hide it. There would be no way for someone to read your aura or something, is there, and see that you could raise the dead?

It's a house-rule, but generally it's assumed that your stuff works as it did in its own setting, but there may be something in-universe that prevents that (e.g. Anti-magic fields, embodiments of the concept you're trying to invoke, etc.).

So my basic plan is to get the Yozi to let me grab a few Green Sun Princes, do some magical binding contracts here and there, and then use most of my training perks and some sharing perks for experience increase, make them gain Essence 10 and then have them use their previously learned Oath Shattering Strike, so they can free me and Malfeas. I would free the Ebon Dragon first just to see what happens, but if he gets the wind that he is going first he might try to fuck things for the rest of us.

Also, I will probably be spending lots of hours hanging out with Ligier, to see if I can get him to craft me something cool without the need sacrificing anyone that I actually care about, and maybe pay a visit or two to the Street of Golden Lanterns. With all of this 'True Resurrection' talk I might just spend some time trying to craft some epic spells to try and fix the Yozis, so that once they're out they just don't rampage too much aside from heaven.

Do you think I could ask to keep a trophy from the Unconquered Sun once we get out?
