The guy thinks monkeys naturally evolved tails as stingers and that the idea they lived in trees seems crazy to him.

Arkan Land is to the AdMech what Draco and Cezvak are to the inquisition.

So: Land's Raider: 525 points

14 14 14 HP 5 Transport 35 Super heavy Skimmer
Weapons:
Quad Volkite Caliver
2X Quad Las cannon
Special rules:
Dedicated Transport
Machine Spirit
Assault Vehicle
Flare Shield
Explorator Array
Living Metal
It Will Not Die

Land himself costs 50-75, he is not that great of a warrior.

Actually the Loyal Supreme Magos in exile of Mars (internally) mocked him for not knowing anything about actual monkeys.

Also his Raider should have Icarus Targeting, Auspex, Vox (or AM version) and Command Vehicle (or AM version) with a special rule that Command Vehicle and Vox cannot be used unless a IC other than Land is on board.

Given the other special rules stuff like searchlights and smoke launchers are pointless. Explorator Array, Living Metal and IWND cover any and all imaginable toughness issues besides psychic assault. Given that it withstood direct assault from all 4 Chaos Gods in a extended siege without taking a scratch Blessed Hull from the GK books makes sense. The thing was directly blessed by the Emperors light after all.

The Emperor and Void Dragon don't agree on much. They do agree on two things though: 1: Fuck Chaos. 2: Land has a pimping ride.

>>
>>50473701
Aww thanks man. I don't have an airbrush but I managed to do a half decent ghetto OSL with a grey basecoat and carefully directed bursts of white spray paint. Pretty happy with how well it's worked out.

The Raven Guard (my main army) have infiltrated a planet that is in open rebellion against the Emperor, and have stoked the fires of loyalty in some members of the Solar Auxilia garrison stationed there. While the ruling nobility have thrown their lot in with the Warmaster and have begun purging those who refuse to adhere to the new order, many of the SA veterans have been biding their time to strike back and regain a modicum of honour for their traitorous regiment. With the RG's help they are able to gather arms and provisions and coordinate a small but effective resistance force.

Cunningly, this provides a plausible reason as to why the highest authority in the SA force is a tank commander, and the backstory for the inclusion of the Valdor is that it was pretty much a retired museum-piece but has quietly been restored and given a bit of a polish before the final glorious last stand. The tank commanders last remaining comrades from his armoured company ride around in either a pair of Vanquishers or a pair of Incinerators, and they are joined by a unit of Veletaris who have strong-armed a las-rifle section into joining their cause with heady tales of fighting for the glory of the Emperor of Mankind, both units mounted in Dracosans.

>>50473712
Agreed, the SA models are gorgeous. Shame the infantry are so tall, but whatever, the added detail the height allows is worth it.

6 HP? 7? 8?

5-6 sounds reasonable, it has firepower but not enough when you consider it will be about 600 points with Land. It has supreme defensive abilities though.

If you combine AV 14 with Skimmer, Machine Spirit, Flare Shield, Living Metal and IWND it is almost impervious to non D strength shooting.

It is supposed to be ridiculously tough, not invulnerable which is how it was portrayed. If you need to get someone somewhere or get them away from something safely that is what it does because that is it's job.

>Volkite Sentinel independent targeting: Volkites may fire Snap Shots at BS 2, even if they had previously fired the previous turn. They may fire at a separate target from the rest of Land's Raider. All Volkites fire by Land's Raider have the Skyfire Rule.

It already is effectively BS5 and the Volkites are heavy 8 twin linked, all this does is let it incinerate a squad charging it and let it create a AA bubble. It was described as incinerating waves of deamons a few squads at a time, i think it is reasonably badass without being absurd.

Land knows seven things:
1: The Heresy is some messed up shit.
2: The Emperor is da man, respect yo!
3: Damn i've got a fine ride.
4:Custodes are cool, that BA guy is OK even if he is a tool
5: Fuck Magnus, fuck deamons

The Valdor has a surface to orbit vox unit and serves as the rebels main means of communication to any relief forces. The Loyalists hid it by building a bunker around it in a out of the way tunnel to serve as their command center.

The USSR did this sort of thing in WW2, they buried radios, tanks and even aircraft in isolated places to serve as resistance centers behind German lines.

The tanks are buried with only a vox mast sticking up a few miles away (no doubt linked by miles of buried cables to hide the real command post) waiting to be used for the liberation.

In a worst case scenario the Loyalist leadership could button up in the buried Valdor and other tanks and survive an orbital bombardment or even extemimantus. They would die from hunger or thirst soon after but they could survive and send a message via vox or just roll out for one last act of defiance.

>Living Metal rule does? I don't necron.

It prevents any special rule that assists in penetrating armor. Ordinance, melta, lance, whatever. Whatever special rule your weapon has that gives it special abilities to penetrate armor they don't work.

So Chainfists don't get an extra dice, dark lances don't lower the AV value, meltas don't get an extra d6, nothing affects the AV. All you get is S+d6 to penetrate or glance.

A RG army is more powerful with the whole Furious Charge thing, but the AL have no Flesh over Steel restriction, so they can infiltrating mechanized infantry.
>>
>>50474752
The BA guy was pretty cool, he was the only ration person there besides that Admech guy who died in the first scene.

>Oh man, that implies he thinks everyone should have grav-Land's Raiders. He wants the good tech to spread to everybody. Man, can Arkhan Land stop being awesome?!

He does, that is the tragedy. The new Fabricator General and everyonbe else is thinking of all this other stuff, wars, rebelions and heresy. Land is thinking "hey if we all had invulnerable cars and scaled that up we wouldn't have to worry about anything"

It is why Land loves the webway idea, not having to worry about using the warp to travel is a great idea. He could just drive anywhere.
>>
>>50475066
Infiltrating mechanized? I was thinking Skorr with veterans to infiltrate, then scout and give the vets multimeltas/heavy bolter and machine destroyer/sniper.

Also, how doe Exodus and Saboteur perform? I think they're cool as fuck.
>>
>>50474884
Thank you, it is simple logic. Valdors have advanced communications equipment. The Loyalists cannot win without reinforcement. Logically they must protect their communications as much as possible. They must also hit the traitors communications ability as often as they can.

Why the Raven Guard would want to support them is obvious, they are fighting the way the Raven Guard do.

You'd still have to worry about it if the other side had the same equipment as you, which is why the Heresy was indeed all that worrying, since they had both Land's Raiders AND daemons, which gets Kerbor's rocks off.

>It is why Land loves the webway idea, not having to worry about using the warp to travel is a great idea. He could just drive anywhere.
So you're saying Land's ideal future would be everybody driving everywhere in the web-highway and tanks being a central part of everyone's life like a grav version of Mad Max?

ARKHAN LAND IS INCAPABLE OF NOT BEING AWESOME

>>50475107
Other anons say Saboteur work great, but even better with Dynat. I said mechanized because if you want an infiltrating army and just that the Ravens do it better. But the AL can both do it good enough and who knows what you'll play tomorrow.

>>50475033
Yes, it isn't invulnerable. However:
>35 transport capacity

So I've decided to start up an Iron Warriors army. I'm not really interested in making a "competitive" army because I've learned that it sucks a lot of the fun out of the hobby for me. This is a rough list of what I'm planning on getting. Is it at least feasible to use in friendly games? Anything you would recommend adding?

HQ
Praetor

Elites
3 Iron Circle Battle Automata

1 Destroyer Squad w/ Jump Packs

Troops
1 Tactical Squad

1 Tactical Squad w/ Pistols and melee weapons

1 Breacher Squad

Heavy Support
2 Tyrant Siege Termination Squads

I've always like the Irons Warriors idea of "throw bodies at problem until it is solved" and I'm trying to reflect that in this rough list. The heavy and special weapons I'll be including are auto cannons and plasma guns. If its light on vehicles its because I'm planning to get those legit from Forge World later. Sorry if this is absolutely terrible.
>>
>>50475272

>The heavy and special weapons I'll be including are auto cannons and plasma guns
What heavy and/or special weapons? Tyrants can't take the same stuff as terminators. They can't take pretty much anthing, really. And they're Elites ;^)
>>
>>50475201
>So you're saying Land's ideal future would be everybody driving everywhere in the web-highway and tanks being a central part of everyone's life like a grav version of Mad Max?

Well, yeah. Imagine it:

The Emperor completes the Imperial webway. Humanity is now a psychic species immune to chaos. We explore the Galaxy in invunerable hover tanks exploring every last bit of creation. The Eldar get pushed onto a few reservations, they are fun to talk to on a historical level but they are boring after a while. Those Necrontyr statues you and your friends have been collecting are actually Necron Warriors. You talk to them, meet this Necrontyr dude named the Silent King. He tells you that he has a message for the Eldar and the Emperor, there are some bug things that intend to eat us who come from another Galaxy. The Emperor agrees to a meeting, the Eldar bring an Ork and some primitive looking Lizard dude. The Necrontyr show up with the Silent King, Trayzin and a Primarch somehow.

>The Silent King points to the stars and says "bugs from another galaxy are coming to eat us, let's kick their ass"

>Eldrad says: "Second the motion"
>The Lizard next to him burps and gives a thumbs up

Tyrants are listed as Heavy Support in the Iron Warriors Red Book. The special and heavy weapons I'm intending to distribute among the tactical squads.

Thing is, in 30k tactical squads are bolters-only. Vets are the ones who look like 40k tac squads.
Destroyers aren't bad themselves, but are overcosted. And about Tyrants, it's a bit complicated. FW books are riddled with typos and mistakes.

Okay thanks for telling me. This is my first time with 30k and my 40k instincts are hard to shake. I'll drop the destroyers and just make the terminator squad a 10 man. Is it worth taking transports for the infantry blobs or should instead get something for the Terminators?

Considering you want to use Tyrants, who are great at footslogging thanks to those Cyclone missile launchers, and adding the fact there's a bit too many AP3 pieces of artillery out there, yeah you might want some transports for those tactical squads.

Problem is, there's only one non-LoW land vehicle that can transport a 20-man squad, the Spartan.

You could attach apothecaries to help footslogging them, but that'll help only against phosphex, not against anything bigger than Earthshaker guns.

You don't have to worry about being competitive. Unfortunately, Iron Circlebots are too slow and don't deal enough damage for their points (they're good at being bodyguards), same goes for Breachers, and actually for Destroyers too (which, unlike the other two, don't get survivability for their cost).

You'll do well in Zone Mortalis missions though, which are great fun.

In regular games I'd try to take just one of those three, or if you must take two then not Iron Circle and Breachers. The latter are often out in a Spartan, which is generally considered too fancy for tactical blobs.

If you find yourself losing too much, quad mortars with phosphex, Medusas, and Whirlwind Scorpiuses probably cost too little for the damage they do. Don't take a whole bunch, but they can help.

Dreadnoughts are a lot more effective than Domitar-class automata, and you should take tactical support squads in Rhinos if you can. I'd do that instead of taking Breachers. They can move up together with the ccw/pistol tactical dudes too, who definitely need transport.

Or try the Brethren of Iron rite of war and load up on robots.

Ok, I wrote a casual Mechanicum Combined Arms list.
I know that the optimal strategy is to drown then in robots or tanks, but my local meta seems to be quite casual from what I've seen, and I like variety.

2500pt Mechanicum Taghmata
Primary Detatchment (Legio Cybernetica)

HQ:
Scoria on Abeyant - 315
Magos Dominus with Machinator Array - 100

Troops:

2 Castellax with no upgrades - 210
2 Castellax with Darkfire Cannon and Enhanced Targeting - 280

Fast Attack:

3 Vorax, frag grenades - 210

Heavy Support:

Thanatar with Paragon of Metal, Enhanced Targeting - 300

Allied Detachment (Ordo Reductor)

HQ:

Magos Reductor with Machinator Array and 3 Cyber-Occularis - 195

Troops:

3 Thallax with Meltabombs and Destructor - 165
20 Thralls with Carapace and Fearless - 100

Elites:

Tech-priest Auxilia, 2 Enginseers, 4 Automata with servo arms - 105

Fast Attack:

Primaris Lightning Strike Fighter, 2 sets of Kraken missiles, Servitor control and ground-tracking auguries - 210

Heavy Support:

Ordo Reductor artillery tanks, 2 tanks, Medusa cannon, machine spirit and siege plating - 310

Total 2500.

Ok, I think I've covered most things, but I see lots of Primarchs in my local meta while watching games and I'm wondering if I have enough stuff to kill them. Apart from Scoria, obviously.

>THE STORY
Oll Persson stands apart from the rest of mankind. He is one of the old ones, one of the undying. One of the Perpetuals. Now, fleeing from the ruins of Calth with his band of fellow refugees, the vagaries of the warp have brought him through the backways of time and space to a city that rests on the edge of oblivion... and no further. The path has ended abruptly, and Oll's enemies are finally closing in. Will his immortality be enough to save him this time?

Oll Pius was best when he was an ordinary guardsmen, whose obliteration by Horus was what showed the Emperor that he was beyond redemption, and enabled him to make the reluctant choice to destroy his favourite son. Now they've all been ditched in favour of anime-tier convoluted plotting and contradictory arse-pulls.

Except that never happened. Pius, according to the tale, took a blow meant for the Emperor.

Quite frankly the "Sure, he might have just killed his brother, plunged the galaxy into war, is controlled by the dark gods that want to enslave everything, and has been nuking my palace constantly, but I can't kill him, he's my son" is fucking stupid ass bullshit melodrama straight out of a bad anime.

Horus, powered by the 4 gods should kick his ass until interrupted, allowing the Emperor to drive in the killing blow. Implying that the Emperor could have destroyer Horus but didn't because of sentimental crap is beyond retarded. If he didn't want to destroy Horus, why did he even teleport to his ship?

I like my Emperor as a pragmatic person who looks at the big picture. He has been through thousands and thousands of years, he's seen friends and loved ones die and die in droves, his souls (going by the Shaman fluff) are even older and have gone through it all for at least as long as the Emperor. Their mission is to safeguard humanity, not get sentimental over stuff. Doesn't mean he can't have a soft spot or he can't feel empathy, but he needs to be a rock upon which the setting is built. He can be cold and cruel, but he has a plan and he's doing it for humanity the best he can.

Same reason I enjoy the version of Prospero where it's the Emperor who gives the order to burn it. He told Magnus what would happen and he didn't listen, so it's Goofy time now, Magnus.

Not original anon you are talking to, but yeah. Players at my store always have hard minimum tactical squads, then as many termies, flyers and Lords of War/Primarchs they can fit. Apart from WEbro, DGbro and IHbro, who run nice varied melee/infantry/mech lists, I keep feeling that once I have my Mechanicum ready I literally need to kill three units. Primarch and 10 termies in a Spartan, the Cerastus Knight they'd bring proxied by a regular one, and the flyer or Fellblade/Glaive.

I like a good deathstar, but at least keep it to under half your army, especially when I could probably beat it with 3 Vorax, a Vindicator shell and Scoria for less than half its point cost.

I could be misreading what I see on the board, but Guilliman, 10 termies of some description and a Primus Medicae footslogging, a Knight Atrapos, two 10-man tac squads and a Basilisk seems a bit on the extreme side for 2250.

Out of BL's desire to crush hopes and dreams.
>>
>>50481177
Pius suffers from loss of memory, though.. Maybe his powers will come back when he regains them.

There is another Perpetual that's part of the same group of Pius and the Emperor. Miss Alivia Sureka. She is a very skilled psyker.
>>
>>50480832
Last time I checked the Senesi weren't always his biological children. They were his grand-children, his great-grandchildren, and so on.
>>
>>50481221
Whatever they are, at some point the Emperor put his Imperial P in a worthy V and engaged in consensual coitus in the missionary position under the sheets with socks on and lights off for the sole purpose of procreation.
>>
>>50481242
He got lonely. 50,000 years will do that. Doesn't really matter in the end though. The Inquisition found them, and grounded them all up to make anti-soul bullets.
>>
>>50481242
Wait as second. Alivia Sureka who was a fellow Perpetual and a companion of the Emperor was sterile. She couldn't have children of her own so she adopted some.

Maybe all Perpetuals are sterile. It wouldn't make sense for immortals to be fertile.
>>
>>50481282
As if the Emperor wouldn't be able to biomancy his way around that, if perpeptuals did work that way.
>>
>>50481282
> It wouldn't make sense for immortals to be fertile.
why pray tell
>>
>>50481345
Overpopulation and low genetic diversity.
>>
>>50481351
Immortality is just some warp magicks though, at least it doesn't seem to be something genetic.

Otherwise it'd be a little odd we haven't been drowned in 'Ferrus lives !" as well. If turning people into perpeptuals was something possible with planning ahead it seems strange to only have Vulcan have unlimited respawns (which is odd enough already)
>>
>>50481351
Not in the imperium, and no, one immortal wouldent have an effect on the population gentics.

also, why are you assuming this is a product of evolution?
>>
>>50481397
>If turning people into perpeptuals was something possible

The Cabal can turn normal humans into Perpetuals via techno-magic.

Alivia, Pius, and the Emperor are the only guys that we know were born as Perpetuals. They are the real deal. So maybe it's genetic.
>>
>>50481439
In "Wolf Mother", Alivia hints that the real Perpetuals were "cunningly" created to be resistant against Chaos. However, they are not immune to temptation and ambition.

This imples that someone created or had a hand in the creation of the Emperor, Pius, and Sureka. Having fertile immortals around in prehistory with its limited human population would impact the genetic diversity of the population. They just keep producing offspring and passing their dank dna over and over.
>>
>>50481535
3 guys would have virtually no impact on pre-history; so long as they have no big defects, it really woulen't have done anything. You are also assuminbg these guys were all made at the same time, with only hints and rumours

This. I liked "him" when it was implied he was a myth about the regular man being able to make a difference (they do, but mostly by the million) and being noticed by the Emperor Himself on a personal level (which He might do in 40k, being psychically empowered by a trillion prayers a day).

While the fluff does exist, GW has long-since overwritten and avoided that bit since they decided to style the Dark Angels as monastic knights. While I'm not sure if they ever completely canned the fluff or it's supporting details, it's clear that GW kicked it under the rug and hasn't looked at it in well over a decade.

Among other things but the most thing that stood out is Olly thinking to himself that he has no love for the "thing" that normies call the Emperor. However, it's side with him or side with the "usurpers" and nobody in his right mind would side with them.

Hah. I do like the well-endowed eagle of disapproval, but I've never had it be high enough on my priority list to buy one. They need to be, because otherwise we could spam army-wide buffs for little cost.
As is I use 1 Magos Reductor in allied, 1 barebones Magos Dominus/with Machinator Array, then Scoria, and in 3k+ games I bring either an extra Dominus or a Magos Prime of some kind.

I do like the custom though, my 40k Magos Dominus is so BORING in comparison. All he has is a choice between 2 guns, a 5pts 4++ and possibly a relic.

>But damn they're expensive indeed.

Yeah, you can keep them cheap. When I theorycraft lists (as aforementioned, army is being bought Xmas) my Domini and extra Magi have nothing, or only a Machinator or Familiar, and my Warlord gets all the presents.

He's usually Scoria since he's awesome and fluffy for a Xana army, so that saves some points (somehow, a 315 pt char SAVES POINTS sometimes).

The only official image shows what could pass for a Native American chapter symbol, and the Legend of the Rainbow Warrior (that the Greenpeace ship was named after) was a fake Native American environmentalist prophecy. By "fake" I mean that's what most people thought it was, but it was actually based on a proselytizing Christian piece trying to convince Native Americans of the second coming of Christ.

However, it could also look like a Norse carving, and they did have the idea of a "rainbow bridge" connecting this world to the afterlife.

At some point a fan created an image showing a Rainbow Warrior in Mk VII armor with a multicolored feathered plume on his head, and that's where the Aztec/Mayan theme came from - not at all official, but more people have seen that image than the Rogue Trader one.

Nope. It's Tim, who plays loyalist Mechanicum and is a big fan of Ferrus Manus and the Iron Hands, and Michael, who plays Imperial Fists Stone Gauntlet and is a good painter (and is planning on starting White Scars).

Age of Darkness is the podcast to go to if you're into the BL novels (yes, there's another podcast that actually goes through them in detail, After Ullanor, but in a verbose yet superficial manner). JP (Jean-Phillipe) is a French Canadian Iron Warriors player and thinks the Emperor is a dick. Mark plays... Cults and Militia, I think. He's there more for rules discussions than fluff. Lately they've been bringing on Miles from Lil' Legend Studios (commission painting) for their weekly how to paint a legion segment.

Radio Free Isstvan is Ryan Kimmel out of Indiana. He plays drop assault Salamanders and bike-heavy Blood Angels and wrote a treatise on how to use bikes and jetbikes. He also makes "Just the tips" Youtube videos for beginners. Most rules-knowledgeable guy in 30k podcasting, imo. Michael plays Raven Guard and Blood Angels and is based in Texas (the Forgotten Legion 30k group). He's not bad with rules either, and both of them organize events that sound pretty awesome.

He doesn't decide what gets written, just keeps track of how the timelines and characters relate to each other.

>All these people being bad a DA fluff
Following the destruction of Caliban during the scouring the Dark Angels became a fleet based chapter and moved their recruitment to the nearby Plainsworld, a planet with Native American themes.

This remained their recruiting world until some time during or after M36* when the recruiting party returned to find that genestealers had taken over the planet and enslaved the people. Following the customs of their people when going on a suicide mission they painted themselves bone white and decorated themselves with mortuary symbols.

After the success of their assault the remaining marines purged the population of any sign of taint and divided the survivors amongst themselves as new tribes and taught them the ways of the plains people.

When the Dark Angels arrived to figure out what the hell was taking them they decided to leave the terminator armor white in honor of the campaign and left the marines on plainsworld to live out their lives leading the people.

In light of the danger losing their sole recruiting role could pose the Dark Angels switched over to having multiple recruiting worlds including Piscina V and Kimmeria.

*At least 50 years after the Exterminatus of Thranx, a planet whose last dated appearance is in M36

Laurie had nothing to do with the change to 40k, as he only worked as an editor and lore master for the Horus Heresy. He only wrote a few stories in 40k and that's the extent of his involvement there.

Reading Master of Mankind.
Blood Angel, Custodes and Knights are walking very deeeeeep underground, after many hours of walking in the palace's undergrounds they reached Eternity Gate so Sanguinius holding Eternity Gate was fighting deep underground? I always imagined it as fighting before palaces entry on the surface.

Second, Tomaroo probably has a recessive blond gene.

Isn't Eternity Gate right before the throne room? Which is obviously underground in the Imperial Dungeon?

The Imperial Palace is a hive city and that section of the palace is the size of the Himalayas, there's bound to be layers upon layers of buildings dug deep into the mountain, so yeah its underground or at least a giant structure rather than a gate in an open field.
>>
>>50485705
The throne room at least being underground has been a thing since the Rogue Trader days.

1) Aquilla Strongpoints are more than 500 points which makes them a LoW.
2) Just get a bastion and combine it with the aegis lines to make an Imperial Strongpoint.
3) Templar brethren are not a good retinue for Dorn. Templars want to fill the opponent's infantry's asses with power swords Dorn wants to show off his 7-9 S7 AP shredding attacks on the charge +2D3 to combat res to your opponents warlord.

Newest book, fortifications worth more 500 points are LoW.
Presumably Primus Redoubts and Castellan Strongpoints are exceptions since they are listed as Fortifications in the same book.

Lords of War are taboo in 2k?
Ive played a few proxy games of 30k while waiting for Xmas to start Mechanicum, and ive been taking a squad of myrmidons in every one just to kill the inevitable primarch. Should I be telling them not to use Knight+PM at that level against a newfag? I assumed I just sucked.

Also, does Primarchs Chosen still use the LoW slot? Or can they take another along with it?
>>
>>50486068
>onslaught detachment
One heavy support mandatory.
>>
>>50486087
>Primarchs Chosen still use the LoW slot?
You can't take LoW with that RoW.
So it's actually impossible to take exactly one knight and a Primarch.
>>
>>50486110
OK, then. Next time, Scoria, just to punish that one. Knight Atrapos, meet Lightning Fighter. He has 4 presents for you, and the Magos Reductor buffed them special.

Also, allies. Normal? I was going to add a couple Reductor tanks as well as a Magos to my Cybernetica for the + 1 Damage table + Sunder buff on something big like those Kraken missiles, because more Boom is required.

why settle for anything less than complete annihilation of your enemy, the destruction of his armies and the whining of his super bitter petulant manchild primarch?
>>
Who has the new banner? The one with the Custodes.
>>
>>50478143
In my experience, primarch fights usually end the turn after one of the bodyguard units die.

I've had Kurze up against Scoria and someone's custom Sanguinius rules and usually the one with better bodyguards wins. which is why my raptor champion accepted Scoria's challenge so that the Night Haunter could go ham on all those big-bots.
>>
>>50486325

And still they did not win the right to bear the Aquilla.
>>
>>50486316
True, but flying the plane on from reserves within 6" of him shouldnt be too difficult, and even with the ion shield thats still really painful, especially at BS6 from cognis signum.

By my rather shitty mathhammer, 4 Krakens at +1 damage table (Already AP1, so effective 4+ explodes), Ordnance, Armourbane and Sunder at BS6 do 5.92 HP to an AV13 target, 2.96 with the ion shield.
They will probably kill any non-superheavy and, if you can flank the Knight with something big, almost def. kill it with either the 6HP or 3HP plus whatever else you shoot the open side with. Nice, for 210 pts.

No just saying so you were aware of it. I mean it's a flyer, it'll get there in like a single turn of movement. But it has to get there, so don't forget it.
Nice maths.
>>
>>50486487
Also, BS6 isn't that better than BS5, which you can get from Ground-tracking auguries instead of from a Djinn-skein, which you can't get if you bring Scoria as your Archmagos.
I think, because there can be only one. Or at least that's what happens with Archmagos Dominus, which Scoria happens to be.
>>
>>50486588
>I know. What the hell, Emperor?
According to lexicanum Fulgrim was found two Primarchs in front of Dorn, so it's just a matter of getting there first.
>>
>>50486475
Why settle for a bird when you've already got the Emperor's right hook emblazoned on your armor?
>>

>>
>>50486588
The Fulgrim got that right for his boys because of his speech and how the EC proved they could do other things besides just kill.
>>
>>50486588
Cool. I tend to do a lot of mathhammer generally, it helps to know how well my units can be expected to do. If I had a battlecry, it would probably be "Entirely Statistical". Appropriate, for Admech.

>>50486616
Yeah, after perusal of the red book I don't get one of those. I will still take a few cyber-occularis to grant interceptor and run with my Thallax to lower enemy cover, though.

Ah well, still pretty good at BS5.

Kraken missiles I think will be my one-shot "That Spartan/Land Raider/Mastodon/Other giant stompy thing is dead/seriously hurt now" button. Always nice to have one of those.
>>
>>50486650
Yeah, tell that to VIIth legionary #100392, because IIIth legionary #100392 does have the Emperor's Palatine Aquila on his chest, alongside the Talon Spurr on his shoulder.
>>50486681
> the EC proved they could do other things besides just kill.
Because he invented space marines so they could pursue art or stuff. I mean, I'm glad it's better than whatever those WE and NL are up to now, but "being able to kill" it's good enough.

>custom Sanguinius rules

It was pretty much average primarch stats with a higher weapon skill, jump pack, inferno pistol, and that double-wounding sword the blood angels have. We hand waved some rules in game as we pretty much agreed that Sanguinius shouldn't scatter while deep striking, or take dangerous terrain checks. That double-wounding sword alone was absolute havoc, and wound probably let him go toe to toe with horus.
>>
>>50486650

in the Horus Heresy fw tome 2, they say that the spaces wolves, alpha legion and salamanders were kept by the emperor until the very end of the Unification, as he had intented something very special for them.
now the space wolves were his executionners, while the alpha legion became CIA in SPESS, but what purpose was intented for the XVIII ?

Entirely opposite circumstances. Luther and his followers didn't want to be on Caliban, Cloud Runner and the other survivors saw it as their duty to reclaim their worlds lost heritage.

Also a maximum of 5 marines without arms or armor and not in contact with each other is hardly the same as half a Legion.
>>
>>50487030
Something requiring extreme durability and resistance to radiation and heat. There's probably going to be something specific that we'll learn about by the end of the Heresy. Maybe they'd be like, Golden Throne maintenance workers.
