Yeah, this is definitely a recast now that I've actually worked with the material. It's somewhere between forge world resin and plaster, much more fragile when worked on.

On the plus side, even though I've lost a small chunk off the back of it where the exhaust pipes connect to the body, it seems durable enough for gameplay, if shitty enough to need quite a lot of clean up work. Thinking I will report for my money back, because I spent more than the original product on it expecting an OOP forge world model, and traditionally recasts are meant to be fuckin' cheaper than the original.

Is there any special procedure I need to go through to do it?

What's better for Crisis suits? I have 6 and can't decide if I want to run one big "suitstar" unit with 6 suits and a buffmander, or 2 units of 3 and 3 with the commander in one of the squads. Almost everything in CSM is medicore but overcosted, making it hard to play in games with more efficient or outright better armies.

General consensus is to always run them as 5-men without weapon upgrades. Either Rhino & Doom Siren, or backfield Blastmasters.

What's better for me; Renegades & Heretics, or Genestealer Cult?

Genestealers give me Infiltrate, Ambush and RttS, which are all shit hot and badass. I also love all the HQ options.
However I don't really like the actual Genestealer hybrids a whole lot. I'd basically be spamming out Neophytes and I don't know if that's an actual army. Probably minimum Hybrids for formation requirements, the usual HQ, then Neospam all day.
Probably get an allied Sporefield though.

Renegades look slow as fuck without much Infiltrate or Outflank. However there are fucking *swarms* of them and I love Spawn as a unit. Seems like they have more options as an army.
Would probably go Purge to spam out Spawn and ally some Daemons in.

Genestealer Cults can easily go neophyte heavy. You won't get all the toys available to acolytes, but it's reliable infantry, and you get lots of it.

If you want to run a Cult Insurrection and spam neophytes, you need the Armored Cavalcade as your core choice. You can still infiltrate squads inside transports, so no problem at all really with that list.

Sure thing. It's nothing special. It works by territory control, and each week, you challenge another player for part of their territory, which are represented by these little hexagonal tiles. The attacker wagers one of his own, and then a third neutral tile is rolled up from a chart, and all three are put in a pot. Generally you're better off with another DK. The Land raider can be very good vs some armies, but absolutely terrible vs others. Dreadknights are usually a safer bet, are slightly cheaper. Remember we aren't a full on assault army. We need our 24'' mid range shooting on our units to help us.

Generally I say go with what aesthetic you like more. I personally like swords and most people will say swords because we have hammerhand anyways which brings us to S6, so wounding t4 on 2+. Halberds also add up quick, and 2 points may not seem like much as first, but for GK lists, every point is very direly needed.

I don't use them, and I wouldn't suggest them. It's better to spend the banner money on hammers other things. Paladins will usually either crush the enemy in combat or get demolished to shooting/higher initiative deathstars. Paladins are more about their double psycannon shooting in my experience than their combat prowess, though they are no slouch in cc. Sticking a killing HQ in with the Paladins will be more than enough to bring them to good levels of cc killiness without the banner.

Personally don't use them, but lascannon is probably best. Storm ravens are very all or nothing units in my opinion and you will absolutely need them to be scary and do damage when they come in.

Played 1250 against Marines and nuked most of a Grav cent squad with my Combi-plas command squad, then only lost 2 models to return fire thanks to 5++ warlord trait and FNP. Then my canoness chewed up the rest with her Evicerator. It was pretty fucking satisfying.

Damaged is how I thought I'd do it if I did. BS2 base and limping, but still stubbornly refusing to die. Might even have It Will Not Die, making it more an avoidable hazard than something to stick around trying to kill. Sword and gun is good because if a model closes to melee it's a death sentence.

But, yeah, terrain would have to be built around it, so there are very few places it can move freely but plenty of places players can duck their models, even if it only means safety for a turn before the Knight or their opponent moves into intercept position.

No, it just cannot be used in achieving a higher save. If you have a 4+ and MoT gives you a 3+ a further positive modifier would leave you at a 3+ as the Mark loses its effect. Yet another modifier would bring you to a 2+

It's a separate ruleset than 7th edition with all it's changes and modifications.
Splits the playerbase
Causes confusion on rulings
And the guys who make the itc houserules generally make their rules the way they think the game should be played, favoring certain armies and strategies.

If all the effort that went into making the itc rules was instead channeled into making 7th edition or at the very least the next edition better, then I'd say it was worth the effort.
As it stands all their work is for a pet project that amounts to nothing.
GW's FAQs have mostly caught up with our questions, the next edition is in 4-6 months tops. Where does that leave these houserules?

Front and back legs are easy, cramming them in the middle along with them is a mess.

Might use a dunecrawler as base and set the cabin back, offsetting it with a large front part where the troops are held. A walking Higgins Boat, if you will.

Sonic Blasters are actually surprisingly effective at both Overwatch and ruining the day of any GEQ unit in cover, especially if you manage to set up first.

They're not bad, but they're highly situational imo. They either wreck your opponents day (especially if he forgets the Ignores Cover) or they do absolutely nothing (your opponent never gets close enough/you don't set up correctly).

Blastmasters are arguably one of the best man-portable Heavy Weapons in the game, let alone the Chaos Codex (maybe not THE best, but definitely top 3). S8 AP3 Blast w/ Ignores Cover and Pinning is nightmare if you forget to deal with it, and many, many people forget that it's also got the S5 AP4 Assault 2 Ignores Cover/Pinning profile as well (Put it on an objective that grants Skyfire and it's a surprisingly decent AA weapon that your opponent never expects - I've downed two Valkyries and a Heldrake with them to date), so it's often a shock when your Noise Marines switch to BP/CCW (and they take a CCW for only 1pt each, so you really should always be doing that) and Blastmaster the fuck out of them before charging a unit.

Overall, I think Noise Marines are one of the best units in the Codex IF you know how to properly use them. They're overpriced, but plentiful access to Ignores Cover, a S8 AP3 Blast weapon with an Assault profile, Fearless, I4, and the ability to have a ranged weapon, BP, and CCW for dirt cheap make them extremely flexible as a unit and overall a nightmare if you use them properly.

For the record, I run a ten-man squad with all Sonic Blasters/2 Blastmasters and an Icon of Excess. Expensive as all fuck, but when combining it with my dual Slaaneshi Sorcerers using Symphony of Pain suddenly makes my Blastmasters S10 and my Sonic Blasters S6. It requires many things coming together to make it work, but they're fucking brutal when they work.
