Is it a good idea to integrate elements of the PT, like Separatists, into an EotE campaign?

If it makes sense for your campaign, go for it. All that CIS milsurp has to end up somewhere, after all.

In the comics, Vader defends Tarkin when Tagge delivers his speech about the colossal waste that was the Death Star.

When a Sith actively defends you, you've got more than their respect.

Alright boys, I'm being inducted into an AoE campaign. What to expect? What are typical sessions like? How do I go about making a cool character?

As an X-wing player, I told the DM I wanted to be a pilot, so he assigned me to be a co-pilot to one of the players.
>>
>>50372583
> What to expect?
be prepared to be confused by the dice, and then be prepared to get super creative with the results once you know the values associated with them.
>>
>>50372583
I hope for your continued survival that your DM is running houserules for vehicle combat because you won't feel like an ace anytime soon. As is, vehicle combat is a lethal clusterfuck and grinding for talents barely helps.

Concentrate on boosting your stats during character creation. Boosting skills and talents is easy, but characteristics are almost locked and determine if you can be competent even untrained.

I just realized something.

Enemy Lines says that the Boreialis siege was the first time the New Republic EVER used (Mass?) orbital bombardment.

They got over their reluctance to use CENTERPOINT before "Nuke them from orbit" became a viable tactic?

Also dear god the plot summaries of the Centerpoint Vong book seem incredibly stupid.

Fucking damn, I get that they needed a way to have the Vong remain a threat when nuking them with a hyperspatial gravity rift no matter where in the galaxy they hid would end the war in minutes, but in that case just ...Say centerpoint wasn't functional as a weapon for some plot contrived reason.

Don't have a dumb plotpoint where Jacen cries "Abloo-bloo-bloo genocide!" to convince Anakin not to shoot the superweapon even against a MILITARY ENGAGEMENT, then have the weapon backfire and blow up friendlies when Thraken uses it.
>>
>>50373188
It was a it was a tens-of (possibly hundreds-of)-thousand-year-old tool that that was still primed and operational. They did NOT understand how it worked. They did NOT understand how to safely misuse it to cause the hyperspace explosion, and didn't feel like trying, despite the capacity for instance hyperspace travel across the galaxy. No one particularly wanted to build another superweapon after the Dark Times, two Death Stars, and another 10 years of war and various crisis.

Yes, your arguments about the characters are correct, but there are a few things that you're missing.
>>
>>50373321
I thought it only misfired because Thraken used it instead of Anakin.

Still they should have just said it was not able to fire any more for *REASONS* in an offhand comment, not devoted an entire book to the implications of a superweapon that combined the Galaxy Gun, Suncrusher, and Death Star into a single platform.
>>
>>50373361
Tracken had about as much chance of killing himself, blowing up his target, destroying the entire Corellian system, and/or just tearing Centerpoint apart.

Anakin may have had a better chance at using it successfully, although Jedi have never been too emotionally stable when it comes to killing a fuckton of people at once.

Reminds me a bit of the Khyber Pass guns you'd see broke-ass Afghan's toting around.
Go over the border to Habib's Gun & Hookah Emporium, give them a gun. Wander off for a few hours, smoke some hash, get the goat lubricated and what not, come back and they'll have made you a facsimile of whatever you gave them. Guys making it have next to no fucking idea how a gun works, they just take all the bits apart, measure them (maybe) and bash the whole lot out with hammers, hand tools, files and blowtorches. They'll even duplicate the serial numbers, proof marks* and shit.

Artists are much the same- shooting bit is there, thingy that makes it shoot is there, then dangle some space tactical shit off the rest of it.

My inner /k/ommando sperged out over the folding stock + fixed stock thing so i hacked it out in MSpaint and remade the folding stock into a short bipod. It's not long enough to stabilize it when prone but it works for propping it up on a window sill or short wall

In a galaxy far, far away are there still people who hunt animals for food and furs? I want to make someone who still uses a blaster (maybe something carbine length), but isn't a smuggler, mercenary, law, raider or soldier. Just not a psychopath who shoots womp rats for fun.
>>
>>50375976
There are absolutely hunters. Some of them may also branch into bounty hunting because there is a fair bit of overlap in the skillsets.
>>
>>50375976
There's a section in Darksaber where Luke and Callista go to Hoth and encounter a group of big game hunters poaching Wampas for their pelts and hire themselves out to wealthy patrons for hunting tours. They get shitwrecked because wampas are smarter than they look and they didn't take enough precautions with ammo and gear, but hunting tours are a thing.

Also, capturing live game would be a viable business as well. Aside from places like the Circus Horrificus, the Geonosians in Ep2 had to get their gladiatorial animals from somebody.

Nobody has scanned them. And they're just copies of other existing stats throughout the other books, so there's nothing actually new in them. If you're strapped for cash but like the convenience, I know people have made blank card templates in a similar style as the adversary decks (should be on the FFG forums somewhere) so that you can fill those in yourself and then print those out.

Reading junior Jedi knights, a sapient species needs a specific high O2 water pool location to transition to aquatic adulthood and are helpless against massive predators while there. The New Republic never even considered giving them some gunturrets, or artificially oxygenated water tanks. Or having any jedi from the other Yavin moon routinely hop over to help.

Converting the damage to Nonlethal via some modification strikes me as the only sensible thing to do with it.

Generally speaking, a couple of black or even purple die are not going to do much against a Agility 5, 4 ranks in True Aim, 5 ranks in Ranged (Heavy) autofire beast. And of course, this just means that those guys are the only people who can do anything, while the more sane members of the group are reduced to nade spam or whatever.

The movies never had more than a setback's worth of cover in them, firefights tended to be very mobile and at short distances. The game supports this, but by RAW autofire dominates these types of encounters.

If it's any help to muh realism, IRL hand-held portable anti-tank launchers are very poor against modern armor and even precise hits don't grantee anything.
>>
>>50397378
The launcher might be a Man-Portable Proton Torp Launcher, which would make a nice hole in a down-armored cargo variant AT-AT's neck joint. Add in a bunch of T-65 lasers to the mix and that would decap the AT-AT real nicely
>>
>>50397378

Well, they're a slightly different model, the ACT.

That said, they go down in Rebels from a neck-joint shot from the AT-TE's main gun too - just I guess you have to hit the right spot, the Ghost apparently didn't actually hit anything vital with her torpedo run - though that did punch through the armor.

-Space Jam

I designed three more shitty ones, and was wonering which would be considered worth printing. It looks like i'm probably going to do Pillars of Creation and Diner this wave.

Spaghetti is mostly because it's silly as shit. Someone found it funny at one point.

The other 2 that were shot down in the drawing phase were

- A starfield with a bunch of scale-accurate tokens, dice, base inserts, bomb tokens, and asteroids.

- A diagram of Ronald Reagan's Strategic Defense Initiative (Star Wars Program)

- The Naked Hobo Santa from rick and morty floating in space

Really, i'm just wondering what retarded mats to make.

I should I make the spaghetti one an epic playmat instead? Death Star Trench?

Note, I've never played Starfox, so I'm assuming that you want this mat for yourself?

There are three ways I can make this mat-

1. 3x3 play area
2. 3x4, play area and 2 borders for card storage
3. 4x4, a play area with a full perimeter.

In any border, I could put other stuff, such as logos and the like, which allows me to keep the image less stretched, or I can do divider lines on top, which shows a larger picture and looks better from a distance.

What dimensions do you want, and what, if anything, should be in the borders?
>>

3x3 play area.

I'm not sure about a border though do you have any examples?
>>

They got truncated due to upload sizes, but look at my Space Diner and Spaghetti above. Space diner has the first style of border, Spaghetti has the second. You don't have enough pixels to spare to do the type of border I did on the Spaghetti one though.

Moot point, as 3x3 has no border.

If you do want me to add a decorative border, throw me some source images and I'll go to town.

In this situation a hold-up would probably not be the right way to go about it; you're describing something much more of a heist than a robbery. Like, an infiltration job by the jedi with mind tricks could do this much more easily than a holdup, and with a vastly lower risk of death
>>
>>50409233
Well
Its pretty much removing illegally things from a bank. pretty similair. Gotta prepare for both tho
>>
>>50409072
>If they do something reeally stupid

Like robbing a fucking bank?
>>
>>50409177
I remember that thread.
>>
>>50409303
that's low on the scale of stupid they can do
>>
>>50409258
The problem with a holdup is that any bank on any planet with even a moderate tech level is going to be set up so that the vault and safety deposit stuff simply CAN'T be accessed in a robbery situation, AND police response to the takeover-style job that would be necessary if such a thing were possible *at all* would be swift and extremely deadly.
So unless the bank is on a low-tech planet with lousy police response times, hitting the boxes in a knock-over just isn't happening.
Now, if you WANT that style of robbery, an armored car transporting safe boxes between branches works much better as a target, but if they want it at the branch, it's gotta either be stealth or nigh-suicidal
>>
>>50409357
I took inspiration from payday as to the robbery
Also one of those stupid things I said earlier is tripping the alarms.
>>
>>50409414
>I took inspiration from payday as to the robbery
well there's your fucking problem.
I mean, if that's what you want to run, just copy the game directly, but it's a very, very poor reflection of how banks and bank robberies actually work

>>
>>50409494
>>50409486
yes I understand that that's not how you rob banks.

My basic plan is that the stealthing around and proper planning is the proper way.
BUT
if they fuck up they are going to have police on their ass in 50 seconds flat and probably gotta run without much loot if any.
If they decide to stay they gonna get a lot of police that will probably incapacitate them.

I am not that dumb to think that porting payday will work.
you gotta plan that shit amd not fuckup, and if you do fuck up you either finish the job under heavy fire or gtfo asap.
>>

YOu're confusing bank Robbery with bank Burglary and heists.

Why drag if you can grab the vault
>>
>>50409560
So yeah, it's a stealth heist that would necessitate a fast getaway if it goes wrong, not a robbery. The best thing would be to structure it as a multi-part setup (getting something to crack the specified box fast-fast, setting up fake credentials to get the jedi in there under the pretense of accessing his own box, doing the , either themselves or hiring a slicer, arranging their getaway). After it's all in place, the jedi goes in with the key and mind tricks, gets the package and leaves.
>>
>>50409654
thank you very much
sorry for confusing you all
like I said >>50409606
>>
>>50409414
Also the payday part of the Inspiration was mostly concernimg the stealth heists and the general style of the game(toned down)
>>
>>50408919
Tail Gunner is better on offense, 3PO on defense. I generally prefer the offense since Norra's best way to late game is killing stuff.
>>
>>50405806
The Imperial Army was criminally underused, even in EU. I like implementing them as baddies or neutrals in my campaigns, allies on a few pro-Imperial party occasions.
>>
>>50409739
I was at a tournament today and there were two Norras (one with each of the crew cards I mentioned). My Rey got wrecked by the one with Tail Gunner, and the one with 3PO (which I didn't play against) lasted far longer than it should have.
I like the idea of extra damage, but at the same time not dying is one of my highest priorities.
>>
>>50409652

>>
>>50411383

Ah. I was wondering if the Project had become canon again.
>>
>>50411445
I mean the only Dark Troopers tooling around before Yavin were the ones in TFU, the originals were kept secret till after Yavin when they got rushed into mass production to make revenge strikes after the loss of the Death Star.
>>
>>50411445
Well Dark troopers are canon (Phase II anyway so logically a Phase I must have existed). Also Purge troopers too (Which were what the Dark troopers in TFU were called I believe).
>>
>>50411547

Are they? Huh. I thought it fell under the Legends umbrella. Does that mean Kyle Katarn still shut them the fuck down?
>>
>>50411547
Did they bring back purge troopers in
>>50411547
>>50411591
They're a unit in that phone game that was okay but turned shitty when they broke the AI's ability to take advantage of its weapon ranges. They CALL the troopers in that game Phase 2 dark troopers but they LOOK almost exactly like the Purge Troopers from TFU.
>>
>>50411591
Nope. Legends is currently being cannibalized for good/feasible ideas. Kyle's MIA likely because being A) a 90s video game protagonist means he has a higher body than the Death Star and B) He was eventually a major part of the New Jedi Order, and that got thrown out the window so Darth Chemical Romance could throw Luke's academy under the POTTERY bus.

Legends is currently being looted for good ideas/concepts that can be easily worked back into continuity. Hence why TIE Defenders are are in the new Battlefront and why Thrawn is in Rebels. It'll probably be a while before Kyle & Jan ever get back into canon, if at all.
>>

>fuck up those robot dog motherfuckers, and kill that black asthema nigga. Fuck his laser sword shit, little bitch cant block 50lbs of c4 flash melting whats left of his skin.

These same players tried to find out where the deathstar was so they could hijak it and blow up Coruscant and end the empire by "blowing up wrinkle bags and his fucking friends"

The worst part is that i let them watch auraulnauts and now they think its hot shit.

>>
>>50412205
If they think they are hot shit, toss a squad of Dark Troopers with some support units of AT-STs, 2M repulsor tanks, Speeder bike units & TIE Fighters or Bombers running CAS. remember that these unit will call in artillery from either ground or orbital batteries if things get too hot to handle.

Or if they stick to space fighting toss an Immobilizer 418 with support units at them. A 418 usually rolls around with 0-1 Star Destroyer, 1-3 Victory I or II -Class star destroyers, 2-4 Frigates or Lancer-class corvettes and 2-6 Gozanti with mission-specific TIEs

If you piss off the Empire enough they WILL drop the heavy end of the hammer on your ass.

Yes, yes he can. You know the scene in ESB when Han shoots him and he hold up his hand and absorbs it? Yeah, that can be used to absorb explosions and supercharge his I'm-gonna-choke-a-bitch powers.
