The way I remember it is that the Flesh Change was worst among the Sorcerers, who had a terrible habit of fuckin' popping while fighting the yiffs. I may be wrong on that. But I'm pretty sure the irony was that the Rubric did basically the opposite of what would be expected; normalfag 1ksons turned into dustbros, even though they'd had the least problems before, and Sorcerers who were prone to becoming giant flesh globs became normal.

Dorn is pretty explicit about stamping out any divisions in his Legion. The VII were a mix of Terran- and Inwit-born marines, plus recruits from worlds they fortified and were garrisoned on. A models armour should not suddenly fail because he is in good cover. And a Leman Russ should be able to shoot a vehicle with its lascannon while attacking a squad of infantry with its heavy bolters and pintle weapon. The way they do it now just forces over specialising, squads should probably be able to split fire their heavy weapons by default as well.

Multiple saves weren't much of a problem in 2nd edition. They're actually MORE of a problem with all the re-rolls and FNP knocking around.

Characters were the only ones who could get a second save, because cover saves didn't exist. And characters would have to eat D10 wounds if they got hit by a lascannon.
